Naru was speechless. Who wouldn't be when a knight suddenly appeared in their basement and sliced off a man's head? With neither of them saying anything to each other, Naru decided to speak up.
Naru: "Um, w-who are you?"
?: "I am your servant, Saber. I have come in response to your summons. Your orders, master?"
This knight calling herself Saber spoke very matter-of-factly with a serious tone. Was there something he was missing? What summons? What's a servant?
Naru: "I…um…okay? That didn't get me any answers. Let's see–oh wait! Touka!"
He was so caught off guard by what happened that he completely forgot that his sister was in danger. He couldn't reach them now. He was weak and the Oe Cult was far away from his house at this point. He couldn't catch up to them before they killed his sister.
Saber: "Your orders, master."
Saber interrupted his train of thought. As he was about to yell at her for it, but then he got an idea. This woman was strong enough to kill Yami in one strike and she called Naru "master." Does this mean she will do whatever he tells her to?
Naru: "Hey, you called me 'master' correct?"
Saber: "Yes, as your servant, I am yours to command."
Naru: "Well I have a command: help my sister. She's been kidnapped by a group of people wearing Oni masks. Can you help her?"
Saber: "Of course master, I will do everything in my power to ensure her safety."
She then dashed out basement, leaving Naru by himself.
Naru: "I hope I can trust her."
Akachi: "Damn you Kaminari!"
Akachi angrily walked back toward the house with Riko still carrying Toaka.
Akachi: "First, he interferes with the ritual I worked so hard on, and now he steals the 7th servant from me? This will not be forgiven!"
Riko: "Aww, come on Akachi, you're overreacting! Yami is in there kicking the crap out of him! He probably stole his command spells already and got the servant for you!"
Akachi: "Normally, I would agree with you, but you forgot the part where the servant might defend their master if they are in trouble and the fact that servants are much stronger than humans!"
Riko: "Not Yami! He's stronger than anyone! He should be tossing out Naru's head right about…now!"
A severed head came flying out of the house.
Riko: "See? What did I–"
Both Akachi and Riko froze. This wasn't Naru's head that went flying out. It was Yami's.
Riko: "Y-yami? Who did this to him? Reveal yourself so I can kick your ass!"
?: "I did!"
Saber walked out of the apartment and stood in front of the doorway.
Saber: "I mistook him for a berserker-class servant. I was saddened to learn I had killed a flesh and blood being. Still, you shall meet the same fate if you don't hand over my master's sister!"
Akachi and Riko were stunned. They didn't know what to do. They never encountered a servant before and didn't know how to handle one. Akechi was the first to speak up.
Akachi: "Hello there! You must be Saber, correct?"
Saber: "That is correct."
Akachi: "Well, it's an honor to meet you, Saber, strongest of all servant classes!"
Saber: "If you're trying to flatter me to save your skin, it's not going to work. Now hand over the girl!"
Akachi: "Now now Saber, one thing at a time. I believe I know what is going on here! You have been summoned by the wrong master! You see, I was assigned by my boss, Akuma Doji to be a contender in this Holy Grail War, and gave me the task of summoning our god, Amonozaku, as a servant"
Saber: "What does this have to do with me?"
Akachi: "Everything! The boy in there interrupted the ritual and summoned his own servant, you, in their place."
Saber: "What point are you trying to make, cur!"
Akachi rolled his eyes.
Akachi: "You technically belong to me. So here's the deal. You can sever your contract with the unworthy master in that apartment, and in return, I, a worthy master, shall help you win the Grail War. What do you say?"
Saber: "...no."
Akachi: "What?! But you'll have a much better chance at winning the grail with me rather than that amateur!"
Saber: "Let me make a few things clear.
First, I don't desire the Grail enough to where I need to switch masters.
Second, my current master is already providing me with enough mana for me to reach the peak of my power.
And third, even if you are my 'true master' which is absurd, I would never partner myself with someone willing to harm children to get what they want!
Now, I'll ask one more time: Let the child go or I will cut you down!"
Akachi stood in disbelief. He had previously thought servants were just familiars who mindlessly followed their master's orders to obtain the grail. He thought it would be easy to persuade her to his side with the promise of a superior master, but not only did refuse him, she refused him and lectured him at the same time!
Akachi didn't let up though. There was no way a mere familiar was going to make him look stupid! Riko suddenly spoke up.
Riko: "Alright then, if you won't join us willingly serve us, then we'll make you!"
He snapped his fingers and several thugs with Oni masks jumped out of the bushes and surrounded Saber, who looked unimpressed.
Riko: "Let's try this again. Give us your master, or we'll fuck you up and take him for ourselves!"
Saber: "Once again, my answer is no."
Riko: "Fine, have it your way bitch! Consider this revenge for killing my brother."
Saber: "One question, how many people are in this….crowd of yours?"
Riko: "Hmph, there are twenty of us and only one of you. Even if you are stronger than regular humans, each one of these guys has Oni blood coursing through their veins, so there's no way you can win!"
Saber: "I see, so you only brought twenty? How foolish."
The wind started to blow.
Riko: "Foolish? You're the idiot trying to take on twenty people at once!"
It started to blow harder, and the trees started to rustle.
Saber: "No, you're the foolish one thinking that only twenty people can take on a servant. If you truly wish to defeat me…"
Saber stepped forward, releasing a huge gust of wind that almost knocked everybody off their feet. Riko and the twenty thugs could only stand there in shock at the sudden burst.
Saber: "...you should have brought over a thousand!"
Riko: "D-don't just stand there, she's just trying to intimidate us! Go get her."
One thug rushed out from the crowd and tried attacking her with pipe.
Thug #1: "Haha, I got yo-"
He didn't have a chance to hit her as the pipe was sliced apart and his head fell off his body.
Thug #2: "What the fuck!"
Thug #3: "I didn't even see her move!"
Thug #4: "How did she do that?"
Riko: "I-I don't know! S-she wasn't armed! How did she–"
Riko noticed how her hand was half open and there was a stream of air slowly ascending up from her hand.
Riko: "Is that….an invisible sword?"
Saber: "Who knows? How do you know I'm not wielding my trusty axe? Now then, are we going to stand around all night, or are we going to start fighting?"
One of them rushed towards her with the bat, only for Saber to slice through it and stab him in the throat. When she pulled it out, blood started spraying out of the wound and blinding another person coming at her from behind. While he was blinded, Saber took the opportunity to stab her sword through their head before twisting it and popping their skull open.
Two thugs tried to flank her from the sides, but she jumped up into the air causing the two of them to crash into each other. Once she landed, she skewered both their heads with her sword, killing them instantly.
Thug #5: "Eat this you freak!"
Another thug pulled out a gun from his pocket and tried to shoot her, but the bullets harmlessly bounced off her as she charged toward him.
Thug #5: "Shit, it's not just the armor, the entire dress is bulletproof!"
He then got impaled through the chest on her sword.
While all this was going on, Riko was standing there losing his mind.
Riko: "No fucking way! NO FUCKING WAY! THIS IS BULLSHIT!"
Saber impaled another cult member and tossed their corpse into a tree. She then grabbed the arm of another thug who tried to punch her and cut it off, leaving them screaming on the ground covering their arm stump.
She then swung the severed limb like a baseball bat, breaking another cultist's jaw. She then lunged at another thug and with a battle cry slashed him from his left shoulder to his right hip, cutting him diagonally in half.
Ten thugs circled her to overwhelm them with sheer numbers, only for Saber to duck and release a slash in a wide arc around her, cutting all ten of them in half at the waist and letting their torsos fall to the ground, leaving their lower halves standing in a circle around her.
The last thug stood shaking in fear while holding a knife.
Saber: "It's up to you. You are allowed to flee whenever you want to. Don't waste your life trying to beat me for the sake of it. Make the right choice, and walk away."
The thug didn't listen to her. Instead of fleeing, he rushed forward wildly swinging his knife.
Saber: "So be it."
As Saber braced for the man's attack, he suddenly tripped on a rock and fell over, accidentally stabbing himself in the throat. Saber was saddened that the man died in such a meaningless way, but she didn't dwell on it for too long, she had a mission to complete.
She turned to face Akachi who still had Touka in his grasp. Riko had run away a while ago, leaving just Saber, Akachi, and Touka in front of Naru's apartment. In a panic, Akachi put Touka in front of him and put the claw on his middle finger to her throat.
Akachi: "STOP! Take one more step and I will skewer her throat!"
Saber stopped in her tracks.
Akachi: "Now, let's try this again. Bring your master out here or I will kill the girl!"
A hand came from behind Akachi and pulled his arm away from Touka, while another hand held a familiar-looking knife to his throat.
Naru: "You want me? Here I am!"
Akachi: "What? How did you–"
Naru: "While you fucknuts had your attention on Saber, I snuck out the back door and circled behind you!"
Akachi: "Damn you!"
Naru: "Now here's the deal: let my sister go, and we can all walk out of this alive. If you don't let her go, I shove my hand up your ass and turn you inside out. Capiche?"
Akachi: "Nnnngggg fine! You can have her back. There's no point in keeping her now that the seventh servant has been summoned,"
Akachi let Touka go and Naru let go of Akachi. From there, Akachi walked down the wooden path to the forest's exit. After Naru confirmed Akachi had left, he turned his attention to Touka, who he ran to and hugged with tears in his eyes.
Naru: "Touka! I'm so glad you're alright!"
Touka: "Me too Onii-chan, I was so scared!"
Saber smiled at seeing the two siblings reunited. Naru noticed her watching and turned his attention to her.
Naru: "I don't know who you are, but thank you! Thank you so much!"
Saber: "It is my pleasure, master."
Naru: "Hmmm, master huh? I don't like being called that. It makes me sound like a slave trader. Can you call me by my name instead?"
Saber: "Of course, what is your name?"
Naru held out his hand.
Naru: "My name is Naru. Naru Kaminari."
Saber grabbed Naru's hand with her own and shook it.
Saber: "I am Saber. It is nice to make your acquaintance, Naru Kaminari."
