The two returned to the house, with Naru and Saber sitting across from each other at the table. Saber had seemingly returned to normal, but Naru wasn't so sure. He kept asking if Saber was alright, much to her annoyance.

Naru: "I'm going to ask again. Are you POSITIVELY sure that you are alright?"

Saber: "For the 12th time. I'M FINE!"

Naru: "Are you though?"

Saber: "YES!"

Naru: "That's exactly what a person who was not fine would say!"

Saber: "I'm fine!"

Naru: "If you say so. You've got some things to tell me because I feel like you left out some important things."

Saber: "I apologize. It's been a while since my last Holy Grail War. I was so focused on telling you the rules that I forgot to tell you what to expect from servants and what they are capable of."

Naru: "What are they capable of anyway? What are we looking at in terms of power?"

Saber: "Servants are the strongest type of familiar. They completely surpass most forms of modern magecraft. So yes, they are very powerful."

Naru: "Gotcha."

Saber: "The only way for a human to defeat a servant is to defeat their master. This will cut them off from their magical energy supply and cause them to fade away. However, the one thing you should watch out for the most is a servant's noble phantasm."

Naru: "Noble phantasm? What's that?"

Saber: "Noble phantasms act as a servant's trump card. They are the culmination of their legends put into the form of their most powerful attack, which can take the form of a weapon or a special power the servant might have. We usually don't release them since doing so reveals our true names."

Naru: "So I'm guessing that huge flash of light Assassin released earlier must be his noble phantasm. Since you witnessed it yourself, does that mean you know what his true name is? Because I don't have a clue!"

Saber looked at Naru with a confused look on her face.

Naru: "What's wrong? Did I say something funny?"

Saber: "No it's just…who is this 'Assassin' that you speak of?"

Naru: "Wha-! I'm talking about the giant monster in the woods! One of the seven classes you told me about! You know, THAT Assassin?!"

Saber's face looked even more confused than before.

Saber: "Naru, what you just said sounds like complete nonsense! A giant monster in the woods? Really? Also, what is this Assassin class? May I remind you that there are only six standard classes: saber, archer, lancer, rider, caster, and berserker. There is no such thing as an assassin class. Please cease your foolishness."

Naru: "...Are you gaslighting me?

Saber: "I do not know what that means, but I can assure you that I am not."

Naru was left speechless. Saber had completely completely contradicted everything she had told Naru earlier.

Naru: "Okay then. If that is how you want to play it, that's fine by me! Tell me, if there is no assassin class as you claim, then where did you get those wounds? What caused the damage done to the forest? Where did that huge flash of light come from?"

Saber: "I was doing some sword practice in the woods, and while I was doing so, a bear came and attacked me. Also, what flash of light do you speak of? Is this another one of your weird delusions?"

Naru: "Something strange is going on here. It's almost as if her brain is trying to filter everything related to Assassin out of her mind and filling the blanks with lame excuses. Wait a minute! Earlier, Saber said that a servant's noble phantasm could take the form of a special ability they might have. Does Assassin's noble phantasm have the ability to make people ignore his existence?"

Saber: "Naru! Are you listening?"

Naru: "If that's the case, then there is only one way to solve this."

Naru grabbed Saber by the arm and dragged her out of the house.

Saber: "Naru, where are you taking me?"

Naru: "If I can't prove to you that Assassin is real with words, then I'll have to show you instead!"

The two once again walked towards the middle of the woods with Saber complaining all the way.

Saber: "Unhand me you brute!"

Saber broke free of Naru's grasp and backed away.

Saber: "What has gotten into you? Are your delusions so great that you would attempt to drag me into the woods to search for that which doesn't exist?"

Naru: "Saber, I have a question for you."

Saber: "What is it?"

Naru: "Do you trust me?"

The question took Saber aback. Did she trust him? On one hand, she was his servant, and she had sworn loyalty to him. On the other hand, they had just met, and she didn't know enough about him to trust him completely.

Saber: "W-why are you asking me this? Is this another attempt to make me believe in your delusions?"

Naru: "That's not what I meant. What I meant to say was: would you save your master when they are in peril regardless if you believe in them or not?"

Saber: "..."

Naru: "I'll give you some time to think about it."

Naru walked further into the woods without saying a word, leaving Saber behind. Once he had reached the center of the forest, Naru spread his arms out and started to taunt him.

Naru: "Hey you big dirty ape! Come and get me! I know defeating the master is the easiest way to beat a servant. Well, here I am! Completely defenseless!"

Assassin: "It's useless!"

Naru heard Assassin's voice from all around him as if the woods were speaking by themselves.

Assassin: "I know what you're trying to do. You're trying to get me out in the open so Saber can see me and cancel the effects of my noble phantasm, aren't you? Well, it's not going to work. My noble phantasm, Urban Legend, alters the target's senses, memories, and thought processes to completely ignore my existence. This includes ignoring locations where I am currently present, so I have nothing to fear from Saber!"

Naru: "Oh really? Well, if you have nothing to fear from Saber, why aren't you attacking me, her master right now?"

Assassin: "Because I'm currently trying to find the best angle to send your head flying!"

Naru: "Come on Saber. If you're going to save me, now is the time!"

Assassin jumped from tree to tree, building up momentum while searching for the perfect angle to attack Naru from. While Assassin was far stronger than Naru, he still liked to be cautious since the unexpected could happen at any time and end up turning the tables on him.

Naru: "Saber!"

Assassin found it, the perfect position to strike a killing blow! He jumped off the tree he was on and then bounced off another to make a B-line for Naru.

Assassin: "Got you!"

Assassin was now in front of Naru, seconds away from swinging off his head!

Naru: "SABER!"

Assassin: "IT'S OVER!"

CLANG!

Instead of the sound of rending flesh, the sound of his claws hitting metal filled his ears. He looked down and saw a familiar blonde-haired girl standing in front of Naru, defending him from Assassin's blow. Saber had saved her master.

Assassin: "That's…not possible!

Assassin jumped back and stared Saber down with fury in his eyes.

Assassin: "How did you get passed my noble phantasm? You shouldn't have been able to break free from it!"

Saber: "Normally, I would agree with you. However, there is one thing you overlooked."

Assassin: "What? What did I overlook?"

Saber: "While your noble phantasm is unstoppable in most circumstances…"

Saber looked behind her and smiled at Naru.

Saber: "It will never, ever break my trust with my master."

Naru couldn't help but blush at Saber's words, while Assassin looked annoyed.

Assassin: "I see, I was under the impression that all other servants besides myself were selfish and purely sought the grail. I apologize for my rude behavior earlier."

Saber: "Your apology is accepted, Assassin. Now…"

Saber got into a combat stance.

Saber: "...shall we continue from where we left off?"

Assassin grinned, showing his large, pointed teeth. He extended his claws and also got into a fighting stance.

Assassin: "Very well. Let's go!"

And the two charged into battle!
