Sylvee POV

"I should go back, Spec needs my help!" I thought to myself after I stopped walking and looked back the way I came.

"But he said- no! I should go back and help him if he's hurt, he's not good with promises anyway!" So I ran back at full speed, but I stopped just in front of the street, which was in a complete mess. Rocks and debris were everywhere, the Tyrantrum's body was laying in the middle of everything.

"Spec?" I asked out loud while walking through the area. I looked around for what felt like a long time.

"S-Spec..." I slowed down and stopped walking, thinking the worst before shaking my head.

"What happened here?" I heard a feint voice ask itself, making me hide quickly and peek at whoever it was.

"Jolt!" I yelled while running towards him. He turned around and smiled.

"Oh thank Arceus, I didn't think I was going to find anybody." He said in relief.

"Jolt, Spec is around here somewhere, he fought a Tyrantrum by himself and he's probably hurt somewhere but I can't find him and-" I was cut off by Jolt patting my back.

"Don't worry, he's around here somewhere. We'll find him, I promise." He spoke in a reassuring tone. I nodded and we looked around for a while, eventually finding a small crater in front of one of the only buildings still standing. I peered inside the crater, expecting nothing there, but I couldn't have been happier when seeing Spec.

"Jolt! He's over here!" I shouted before jumped into the crater, getting a better look at Spec's injuries.

"You should've let me help..." I whispered to myself.

??? POV

I steered the Ninjask towards the Tyrantrum's corpse, expecting an easy pickup, but was met with surprise when I caught a glimpse of the Vaporeon and Pichu. I chuckled to myself.

"Looks like I may need something to take care of them, good thing it's nearby." I said aloud. These children will not be the ones walking out of this area with the prize, let alone alive.

Jolt POV

"Looks like he'll need a new mask... and a lot of medical treatment." I stated, standing beside Sylvee.

"Alright, let's get him out of here." I went to pick him up, but the next thing we knew, he was gone.

"W-Where did he go?!" Sylvee yelled, just as confused as me. A buzzing noise was heard right behind us, we turned to see a Ninjask carrying Spec. It stared at us before zipping off in the opposite direction.

"W-Wait!" I shouted as we began chasing it. We only ran a bit until something fell from the sky and landed in front of us, kicking up dust everywhere. The two of us coughed as the dust settled, revealing an iron maiden in a crater.

"What-" I started, but was cut off by Sylvee.

"Who cares?! We need to save Spec!" She yelled before running ahead, giving me no choice but to follow... although, we didn't get far before Sylvee's back right leg bursted open, a black spike sticking out covered in blood. She screamed and pulled away, causing the spike to retreat to the iron maiden via the chain it was attached to. I ran over and tried to help, but another spiked chain flew into the ground in between us. I looked over to see the iron maiden lifted from the crater with a ghostly aura around it, the metallic face on top staring with its glowing red eyes as three more chains appeared. Sylvee tried getting up, but she only fell back down.

"D-Damn." She muttered.

"Sylvee, I d-don't know what I'll do, but I can give you time to run." I said, making her furiously shake her head.

"I'm n-not running! I'll fight too!" She argued back, to which I nodded, although hesitantly. I ran to the left and shot it with a Thunder Shock to get its attention. It worked, but I was almost impaled by one of its spikes which was instantly pulled back to its body. Sylvee limped behind it and used Scald on it, just barely leaving a burn mark. It turned and flung a chain at her, knocking her to the ground. I shocked it with Thunder before it could do anything and it yelled in pain before the chains retreated into itself. I ran over to Sylvee.

"Are you okay?" I quickly asked while helping her up.

"M-Mostly, but my head... it's feeling fuzzy..." She replied, wobbling and almost falling over. Her leg was leaking a lot of blood. The sky became hidden behind dark clouds as it slowly began raining. I looked around, thinking what I could do to stop the bleeding, then I realized.

"R-Rain! You can heal yourself with enough water, right?!" I asked frantically, hoping it would be okay.

"I-It's not... enough..." She mumbled. I started sweating as I picked her up.

"I'll think of something!" I shouted over the increasingly heavy rain. I started running to somewhere safe, but I felt a sharp pain on the right side of my torso, resulting in me falling and dropping Sylvee in the process. I gripped my side and looked at the damage, my own blood was slowly covering more and more of the pavement as the seconds dragged on. I turned my head over to Sylvee to see her eyes fading from a bright violet, into a greyish purple hue. I jumped at the sound of something being thrown at me and rolled to the side as fast as I could, dodging the three to four Energy Balls that kicked up more dust. I coughed and saw the iron maiden through the dust. Glancing towards Sylvee, I clenched my teeth and stood up, ignoring the pain I was feeling.

"I h-have to beat- you..." I whispered, as if the Pokémon would understand. I kept my eyes on the ground as the dust disappeared, seeing a hole in the ground, a water pipe clearly visible. I lightly smiled as the Pokémon was ready to impale me. I was barely able to block it with Protect.

"A-All I need... to do..." I fell forward and hit the pipe with a weak Mega Punch, causing it to burst and spew water upwards. At that point, I couldn't stay conscious any longer, but I managed one more word.

"Sylvee..."
