Chapter 321

It's been sixteen days since I brought down Predar and his companions while also capturing all their forces within the base and to say that what followed was busy would be an understatement. I'd had to deal with the gratitude of multiple chiefs of villages and families who were grateful to have their people and loved ones back along with the crooks who took them. I'd often end up leaving with more gold which joined the items I got from the base in the storeroom, animals which joined the other livestock in my ship's animal pens and occasionally baked goods from grateful wives and mothers along with some drawings from grateful kids. Fortunately, most of the tribes we visited were allies which included the Berserker tribe giving me the opportunity to see Dagur, Heather and Mala and little Tera who was happy to see her Uncle Hiccup again. They were all happy to see me and some of their people safely returned them and called for a feast to celebrate both my visit and the safe return their people. They claimed it was just a celebration, but I could tell they were curious to know what I've been up to and to show them all my adventures and although I was hesitant, it was impossible to say no when Tera who was giving me her puppy dog eyes. We ended up spending the night there and got to enjoy a breakfast with them before heading off to finish the job and made sure to invite them to New Berk since they'd never been.

As for the six men who ran the whole show from the shadows, I went to each of their homelands and delivered them to the royals who weren't happy to discover what their people had been up to. I handed Consus over to Caesar who was outraged since Consus was a noble of Rome and as such needed to set an example for the people and after he had him taken away, I gave Caesar the locations of all the bars, and he promised to have them raided by his personal guard. He then rewarded me with a bag of gold and a decorative vase filled to the brim with jewels since he knew that these bars might have wanted criminals and information on various bandit camps. I handed Jason over to the proper authorities of Greece along with all the information and evidence I'd gathered and walked away with another large bag of gold and my pick of items from Jasons own merchant stores which was mainly some art pieces, all the books and some aged nectar. Baako was handed over to an outraged Cleopatra who had hired him in the past to design temples to their gods and in her eyes, he'd disgraced them. He was taken away before I handed the location of the bars to her, and she assured me that she'd send her men out to raid them before the day was over. She then as usual, had her servants cover me in gold for my services before going to handle the arrangements for Baako's punishment which included having all his belongings confiscated and having her guards go to deal with the bars. Before I left, she had me escorted to Baako's home and I was given free range to take whatever I wanted and ended up claiming all the books in his library, all the designs in his library and a couple of art pieces. Nizaar was handed over to the Sultan who ran the city I always stayed in while Arabia and he assured me that not only would Nizaar be dealt with, but word would be sent to all the cities which held the bars. He did try to offer me a reward, but I turned him down since it never felt right accepting rewards from him since he was like a second father to me. Vendoritzit was taken to Lutetia and handed over to the guards with evidence and the location of all the bars and walked away with a bag of gold but unlike the other times, they requested my help in cleaning up the bars which I was happy to do since I needed to get some practice combat in. I ended up walking away with a ton of Gaulish wine and beer from the bars as thanks for my help in bringing them down and capturing all the crooks within while also discovering the secret entrances to the city. As for Predar, he got dropped off on Outcast Island with his remaining men where they'd remain for a while until we could decide on his punishment.

All this took four days before we were able to return to Bog Burgles and finish smoothing out the peace treaty renewal and explain to them all that happened. Things went smoothly with the Bog Burgles requesting that they also be allowed to use the new prison to keep their prisoners since it was less of a risk for their people if their own prisoners every broke out of their cells, performing a dungeon break. Fortunately, setting up these conditions didn't take too long since Blanca and Chiaki had already sorted out the other details of renewing the peace treaty while I was away dealing with the attack on the kids.

Once all that was done, we returned to Berk where I had to get to work on unloading all the new treasures, books, artwork, food and livestock which took four hours even with help since we had to sort it all and with all the different treasures it took a while. A day later, I got word from my allies on their progress on the bars and am happy to say that they'd all been shut down with multiple pirates and bandits being captured in the process along with a lot of bandit base locations, so life got a lot safer for the people. As for Predar and his fellow men, Consus was fed to the lions of the coliseum, Jason was sold into slavery, Baako was fed to the crocodiles, Nizaar was executed, and Bendoritzit like Jason was sold into slavery. As for their former base, I'd discussed it with my dad, Alvin and the Berk council and it was agreed that it would be best to turn it into a prison since it already had everything needed and it would be hard to escape with the island being in the middle of a boiling lake. In the end it was agreed that it would now serve as a prison where we'd keep our own criminals with the Outcasts supplying the human guards and me providing some automatons as extra guards and send supplies when needed. Setting it up took two days before Predar and all other prisoners in the cells of Outcast Island were transferred to their new prison and once that was done, I was finally able to relax.

It was during this time of peace that Brant, Chara and Egil approached me claiming that they felt some of their magic equipment was ready to be enhanced once more. I took them each to the forge to see which pieces of equipment would be enhanced and brought Amina and Hunter with since I felt Amina had earned the right to enter the golden dragon armory since she helped Chara take down her foe and Hunter needed some armor and hoped he'd walk out with some. When we first arrived, the kids agreed to let Amina and Hunter to go into the golden dragon armory first since they were all curious to see what they'd walk out with.

Amina went in first and after a few moments came out with two new swords that looked like a mix between a scimitar and a khopesh blade. These swords weren't identical in anything other than the shapes of their blades since the hilts were completely different in shape and design. The first one had a handle shaped like a scorpion with the handle being the tail, curving at the end and being striped black and white with the head and stinger being gold, a dark pink oval shaped gem Imbedded in the head and two golden claws sticking out. The other blades handle was dark green with the pommel having a fan shape with gold and green striped pattern and wrapping around it was a golden cobra with emerald eyes and one slightly bigger one on the forehead while the tail wrapped around to the top and then came around and went up the blade with emeralds lining the middle of it. Ability wise, they could both easily slice through gronkle iron as if it were nothing and their cuts would do more than just cause bleeding if they cut a person. Each blade produced a poison with the scorpion one leaking a pink poison and the cobra blade dripping a green poison with these poisons having different levels of toxicity with different effects. The scorpion poisons could at the very least numb the sliced limb and paralyze the body for three hours at most while the cobra causes minor pain for the cut area at least and make the entire body burst in pain for three hours at most. When the poison of either blade is at its most potent form though, it would kill a person within an hour unless the blades produce the antidote to the poisons. In addition to all this if someone besides Amina tried to wield them, the scorpion would sting their hands and the cobra would sink its fangs into them, paralyzing or causing them pain. As for Hunter, when he walked out of the golden dragon armory, he was wearing a metal chest plate that had the top of a wolf's head as its design with the face being carved into it to form an intricate pattern that seemed to glow an orange with the eyes shining brighter. This armor didn't seem to have much in the way of ability wise yet but then again, the armor my kids got from the golden dragon armory rarely had any abilities before they were enhanced. Still though it served its purpose of being able to protect Hunter since it could take a blow from a gronkle iron mace, and he wouldn't feel a thing, but he'd still feel the force which would push him back a little. Along with this, the armor was fortunately not too bulky so Hunter could still sheath his axes on his back and still easily grab them when needed.

Following their trips into the golden dragon armory, I allowed their siblings to try enhancing some of their equipment and it turns out they were right about some of their equipment being ready for an enhancement. We started off with Brants armor which gained arm plates which covered his entire arms and top part of his hand and ability wise, they made his strikes a lot stronger and protected his arms. In addition to this, Brant could make feather like plates come out from them to from wing like shields that could help protect his full body and slice through gronkle iron when he swings his arms around. Along with his armor, there was also his mask which now had purple lenses covering the eyes and they allowed him to use the mask like my eagle eye so he could see great distances which would be helpful when he's scouting.

Chara was next and it was her boots that were enhanced gaining dark blue like arrows going down them which gave a new ability that would be helpful in the future. Now instead of just enhancing her speed and strengthening her kicks, the boots could now stick to the walls she runs up so she could now hide in the dark corners of ceilings. She'd already begun practicing doing so around the house and although she never caught me by surprise thanks to my own ninja training, she was able to get the drop on her siblings and her mother's from time to time. Then there was her flute which once upgraded, took on the form of a lovely ash white wooden flute with golden rings around its sections which she could now extend and then separate into two separate arm length sticks with pointed ends to fight with.

Then came Egil who put in not only his jacket but also his vest for enhancements and when they came out, I was truly shocked by what they came out as. His jacket gained the addition of an ice blue scarf with snowflakes decorating it and like the rest of his gear, it did more than just look nice. He could easily take it off and use it a little like a whip but whenever it wraps around something, it freezes the part it wraps around near instantly and if it wraps around a person than they get a bad case of frostbite. His vest on the other hand could now form icicles as long and thick as his forearm so they could do a lot more damage when he brings them out and he could also use them as throwing or stabbing weapons.

I was grateful for these enhancements since it meant the kids would be better prepared for the next time, they needed to defend themselves against invaders which meant something good came out of this attack. It was also this attack that led me to believe that it was time to start the training of their younger siblings, Xiu and Zephyr to begin their own combat training starting with learning the human bodies vulnerable points, meditation and of course exercise. Their mothers weren't too big on the idea of their little girls beginning their training so soon, but they understood the need for them to be ready to fight if last night's attack repeats itself. To ensure it didn't though, I had placed multiple capture globe automatons around that part of the desert and had them buried in the sands as an extra security measure and I'd be increasing the guard during the bazaar.

Of course, with the training came another headache in the form of my first blood born girls not wanting to train since they'd each developed their own interests. Xiu for example had begun taking an interest in style and weaving, joining Chara for her weaving lessons under Arachne with Blanca coming by and helping her come up with new designs. I wasn't going to stop her though since my daughter may have only be eight years old but her creativity for designing clothes was impressive and she'd already caught up to Chara's level of weaving and developed her own sense of style. It's because of this that a month ago she'd stopped wearing the Viking tunics, pants and skirts she'd been wearing for years while no longer wearing her hair in two big braids like most girls on Berk her age. She now wears a light almost white, purple kimono she made herself with gentle cherry blossom petal pattern decorating it and on the belt was a white night fury while in the branches of the cherry blossom on the skirt was a snake pattern. As for her hair, it was now long enough to go between her shoulder blades with some of it pulled up into two small buns on top of her head using two long light purple ribbons.

Her love of designing and crafting clothes was reflected in her bedroom which we gave her a few weeks ago since she had to move out of the nursery working to make room for the baby Chiaki would be having. She wasn't too thrilled about since she wanted to stay close to her siblings but after a bit of work, she was happy to move in, especially after I built her a loom for her to work on. Besides that, her room also had a desk at the back in front of the window looking out into the garden, at the back and against the right wall facing away from the bed and a few feet from the loom, was a bookshelf filled with her favorite books and standing against the wall by the door was a bookshelf holding larger shelves where she kept her materials. We all knew she had the making of an excellent weaver and designer since she'd often design clothes for her mothers and siblings which we all loved.

Personality wise though, she was like her mother, silent and shy with new people but was very open when it came to her family and those, she's familiar with. It's why she did her best to never go into the village alone and would always remain at the side of whoever had taken her while shying away from those who greeted her. Still, it was better than when she refused to leave the house with her stuffed white snake which she'd named Scales, which she'd had since she was a baby and now always sat on her bed since she couldn't sleep without it. No matter what though, we all loved her and all of us were trying to help her come out of her shell and be the playful little angel we all knew her to be when she was with us.

Zephyr on the other hand preferred the more was like a perfect combination of me and Astrid with my brains and Astrid's aggression which was not an easy combination to deal with. She normally wore the traditional Viking child attire with a dark purple tunic with leather skirt, two little ponytails on her back and fur lined arm bands with matching boots. As for her interests, she's taken an interest in traps of various kind which drove her older brother Hunter mad since she'd often seek him out to ask him questions about the hunting traps he made. He didn't mind the questions that much as to when she'd come to ask him since it'd sometimes when he's out riding Havard, planning a hunting trip, working on a trap and when he's just busy doing his own thing. Brant didn't have it any easier though since she'd keep coming by to ask him for stuff he made in the forge like chains, nets, rope, arrows and more so she could use them for her own traps that she'd been designing and setting them up around the island and house. This has caused a lot of trouble for everyone who called the island home, including me, but despite the trouble her traps caused, I couldn't help but be proud of her. The same went for all the family since she was always so creative for a five-year-old and create things that I could only dream of when I was a kid. I also knew my dad was proud of his granddaughter since unlike my own inventions, worked perfectly since nobody sabotaged them like the twins used to do to mine.

In addition to this, she was always curious about the world around her and wasn't afraid to explore it so she would venture out to explore the island at times without supervision which has caused a lot of trouble. She'd unknowingly caused a lot of panic for everyone since she kept disappearing and with all the different places and environments, we all knew it was dangerous for her. Eventually I had to train a complete flock of terrors to keep an eye on her and to come get me, my wives, one of her siblings or one of the other island inhabitants while the others tried to keep her out of trouble. One of the more memorable disappearances though is when she'd wondered into the Bewilderbeast nest and wondered into a part where the baby dragons played. When we found her, she was laying down in a nest under the watch of the dragon mothers, being cuddled by the baby dragons surrounding her and sleeping quietly.

Besides that her own room reflected the fact that she was a combination of Astrid and I since her room had a workbench where she'd set up small traps, a desk with a coal pencil which she used to draw her trap designs looking out into the garden, a bookshelf to the right of the desk that held notebooks with designs of her traps, various small weapons hanging on the wall but I ensured they were all dulled to avoid hurting herself, a carpet in the center littered with toys since she was still a little girl, a net hanging over the carpet, a stuffed leopard she'd named Spots which like Scales is a beloved toy which she kept on her bed. All in all, I was liking how my girls were growing up and knew they were destined for great things, but only with the right guidance can they be able to achieve their full potential.

It was my desire to see them reach their potential that has led to now, with me sitting down with Toothless laying down behind me while Hunter, Brant, Chara, Egil Xiu and Zephyr sat around me in the shrine within my bamboo forest silently meditating though it was easy to tell Xiu and Zephyr weren't having as easy a time as their older siblings. It was understandable since they were still young and had a lot of energy which is another reason I wanted them to meditate since it would help them learn to control and channel the energy. I smiled at the sight of my kids all silently sitting there, cross-legged and had to hold back a chuckle when I saw Xiu and Zephyr twitch around a bit before I sighed and closed my eyes, joining them in meditation. For a few moments all I could see was darkness before I reopened my eyes and found myself standing in the middle of a large circle shaped black marble room with multiple balcony's, each holding statues of dragons, animals and people sitting on top of pedestals with built in stone table sticking out holding a single book. This made me smile since this was my mindscape with each statue being memories of the beast or person their made of while the floors represented the part of my life. To access the memories, I just had to place my hand against the book, and it would show me the memories as sections, and I was free to organize them as I liked. Before I could begin going down memory lane and organizing a few stray memories a voice from behind me said.

"Impressive mindscape my pupil." I quickly turned around and found the Ancient One sitting there at a small Japanese style table with an ink tray on the right side, a brush in his hand and a parchment in front of him.

"Great, a memory of the Ancient One's gotten loose." I groaned. "Always such a pain to get back into their proper place." I began to concentrate to try and force the memory back into a page form before I felt a strike on my head making me hiss in pain as I realized that I was not looking at a stray memory.

"I'm no memory, I'm an astral projection who's come because I need your help." I bowed remembering how the Ancient One would use this ability to train me while I rested so I quickly bowed.

"Ancient One, forgive me for not realizing your presence was not just a stray memory and tell me what has brought you to me." He smiled and waved his hand.

"Come on, you know during this time when we're not in public or during lessons you can act normally around me." I smiled and stood back up.

"It's good to see you again Ancient One, but what is it you need my help with so bad that you'd go to such lengths to contact me." He sighed and looked down.

"Tell me Hiccup, do you recall the tales I told you of the Moon king Raiden and his three daughters?" I nodded.

"Raiden is the oppressive ruler of the night who has had his three daughters kill many great warriors who he feared would grow strong enough to challenge the heavens." The Ancient One nodded.

"What I did not tell you is that one of the warriors they were sent to kill was my son, Hanzo." He looked down sadly at this while my eyes widened in shock since I never knew the Ancient One had any family.

"You have a son?" He shook his head.

"Had a son before Raiden took him from me."

"My condolences Ancient One." He just nodded.

"Thank you Hiccup." He looked up at me. "Now please sit as there are things you must know if you are to complete the task that lies ahead." I nodded and sat down across from him. "My son was a noble warrior who chose to follow the path of the samurai like his grandfather from his mother's side instead of the path of the ninja as he wanted to more publicly serve the people to give them hope." The Ancient One smiled as he dipped the brush in ink. "Now as a father I supported him and helped him form his own group which would grow under into a mighty army under the banner of his mother's clan and would reside in her old home of Beetle Clan castle." It was then he began to draw on the paper using the brush. "He and his army did much good for Japan and I was very proud of him but he grew tired of how oppressive the Moon King, Raiden was and in order to make him listen, my son wished to possess a set of armor made up of three pieces." He held up three fingers. "The Sword of Unbreakable, Breastplate Impenetrable and Helmet Invulnerable which would allow him make Raiden listen ." I nodded.

"From the stories you've told me about Raiden, he didn't take Hanzo's plans too kindly." The Ancient One shook his head.

"No, he did not." His brush gently stroked across the paper. "For my sons' crimes, Raiden sent his three daughters to kill my son, but the eldest daughter Sariatu, arrived before her sisters and did battle with Hanzo which led to something not even, I could predict with all my years of experience."

"Hanzo defeated her easily." The Ancient One shook his head.

"They fell in love and fled together to avoid Raiden's wrath." I gasped at this before the Ancient One continued. "They made Beetle clan castle their home, where they had and would have raised Kubo, their son, my grandson if Raiden had not found them." The brush shook in his hand. "Hanzo and his army gave their lives to buy Sariatu time to flee with their son and in turn lost their lives, but they succeeded in allowing her to escape and hide away with her son." He shook his head. "Sadly, not before they could escape, he was able to take the left eye of my grandson."

"Why would he do that?" The Ancient One shook his head.

"It is not my story to tell as it is not my destiny to help my grandson and daughter-in-law escape from Raiden's cruelty no matter how much I desired to aid both them and my son." He took a breath. "After they escaped, they were able to find shelter in the cave on top of a mountain which overlooked a small village where they could buy supplies while also being able to hide from both Raiden and his daughters." I nodded, understanding the need to hide from a god. "For a few years, things were good for them with Kubo looking after his mother and making money by telling stories in the village using origami and magic, he inherited from his mother, before returning home before nightfall as that is when Raiden and his daughters can find them." He stroked his beard while shaking his head. "Recently though, Kubo remained out after the night, and he was able to find him before he sent his daughters to get him." His face was stoic, but I could hear the sadness in his voice.

"What happened?"

"They destroyed the village, but Sariatu was able to hold them off and help him escape into the snow lands while using the remainder of her magic to grant him a guardian." He examined what he had drawn on the paper. "Despite this my grandson is still in danger since Raiden and his daughters now have an idea of where he is and won't stop till he they have him and take his other eye." He shook his head and continued to paint. "The only thing that can save him is the armor and now he is on a quest to claim the armor, but he'll need more than just the aid of the guardian his mother gave him which is why I have come here, you are to find and help them claim the armor."

"Ancient One, why don't you do it yourself?" The Ancient One raised an eyebrow. "He is your grandson after all." He shook his head.

"Although I would like nothing more than to take him under my protection, I have been forbidden by the other gods as it is not my destiny to interfere with my grandson's journey to claim the armor, but it is part of your destiny which has been intertwined with his and it is now your duty to aid him on this quest that he has embarked on."

"But why?"

"Hiccup, the armor my grandson is after holds great power and must never fall into the wrong hands which is why my grandson must claim them all as once, they are brought together, only the one who has brought them together may use them and I know he shall use them wisely." I nodded.

"How can I find them?" He didn't look up from the parchment as he reached into his vest and pulled something out before he tossed a gold coin at me which I easily caught.

"When you open the portal door of yours, toss that gold coin into it and it shall give you a way to both him and his guardian but, on this journey, you must never use your god given weapons for they shall make discovering you all the easier for Raiden to find you."

"So, I should only use the weapons gifted to me by the dragons forge and taken from the yokai I defeated." He nodded.

"And once more your dragon must remain behind, or Raiden will use him against both you and Kubo." I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.

"A typical adventure for me alone like most of my adventures in Japan." I smiled. "Makes life a little more interesting." He smiled at me.

"One day that love of adventure is going to get you in serious trouble Hiccup." I chuckled.

"It already has." He placed the brush down and rolled up the scroll before it floated over to me. "For both your sake and the sake of my grandson, I wish you luck, but you must remember this." I could see how serious he was in his eyes and hear it in his voice. "When it comes time to face Raiden, you must not interfere in any way for it is not your fate to do battle with him but the fate of my grandson so only observe their battle." I nodded.

"I understand Ancient One." With that said, fog filled my mind, and I opened my eyes to find myself back in the tea gazebo surrounded by my kids and Toothless, all of whom were now staring at me in concern as little Zephyr pulled on my sleeve and asked.

"Daddy?" I shook my head and looked down at her with a smile on my face.

"I'm alright sweetie, just had a meeting with an old friend." Xiu then asked.

"Is that where that scroll in your lap came from?" I looked down and found the same scroll the Ancient One gave me along with the coin being in my hand.

"I've told you all before, truly powerful masters can use meditation as a way to communicate with others." I stood up as Zephyr asked.

"Who'd you meet?" I put the scroll and coin away and picked up Zephyr.

"The Ancient One who's just given me another problem I need to go deal with in Japan." I saw her eyes begin to quiver as she wrapped her arms around my neck.

"Don't go." I felt someone hug my legs and looked down to see Xiu who was burying her head into my legs.

"Please dad, we miss you too much." I sighed and gently held Zephyr while patting Xiu's head.

"I know girls, but I have to do so, or it could mean big trouble in the future." I knew they hated it when I went on one of my adventures since they missed me and were never sure if I'd come back to them. "Don't worry, I'll be back before you know it and doesn't daddy always keep his promises." They both nodded. "Good, now let's go find your mothers and let them know about what's going on." With that said, I placed Zephyr and Xiu on top of Toothless before we left the tea gazebo to go find my wives.

1 hour later

I was standing in front of my portal door wearing the same ninja set that was gifted to me by the Ancient One when I first completed my ninja training under him. As for my equipment, all my god made weapons, and equipment had been placed in the vault leaving me with just my yokai made equipment and my weapons sash with my spiderpack being full of supplies like food and survival gear. As for the scroll the Ancient One gave me, I'd opened it and found a Japanese style painting of a helmet, torso armor and a katana, surrounding a beetle with long pincers. It wasn't that hard to tell that the items were the armor set and the beetle was the seal

I knew this would help show Kubo and his guardian that I was an ally or at the very least hear me out. With my preparations complete, I bid my family goodbye and opened the portal door before tossing in the gold coin the Ancient One gave me into the portal and the image turned into a snow-covered landscape right before I leapt in, ready to see what challenges awaited me.

There was a bright flash, and I found myself standing in a snow-covered land with a couple of giant statue pieces sticking out from the ground. I looked around for any sign of life before I noticed footprints in the snow leading to the head of a statue and walked up to it and saw the eye holes were openings and figured perhaps Kubo and his guardian went into it to a avoid a blizzard or something. I climbed into one of the eyes and found a tunnel within before making my way down the tunnel to see where it lead, eventually finding a dead end filled with old junk including some old armor, arrows, katanas and a bunch of junk but what caught my attention was an old tapestry which had the same beetle symbol that belonged to Hanzo's clan meaning I was on the right path. I looked around and imprints in the dirt leading to a ladder which led to an opening in the wall and knew they had to have gone that way. I climbed up the ladder and found another tunnel waiting for me through the opening and sighed in annoyance as I asked.

"How big is this statue?"

I made my way down the tunnel, following the imprints in the dust before I came to a large hole in the wall that was clearly recently made, leading to a room with a large skull shaped entry to a cave and a pit in the middle. I looked around and didn't see any footprints on the floor of the entrance to the cave which meant they'd gone down the pit somehow. I was brought out of my examination of the room when I heard screaming down from within the pit and knew I'd found those I was looking for, but they were in trouble. I sighed knowing that it was time to get ready for a fight, I jumped into the pit headfirst, ready to spread my wings as soon as I could find them enough room.

Fortunately, it didn't take long to get to a wide space so I could extend my wings and saw that I'd entered a jade chamber filled with bones scattered all over the place with some being embedded in the wall as decorations. I wasn't too interested in the chamber's décor as much as the giant, red skeleton with swords jammed into its head, wearing a loincloth made of bones with matching wristbands which was currently holding what looked to be a white furred monkey and some sort of beetle man. My attention was then brought to the wall where I saw a young boy with a shamisen on his back, hanging from the wall by an arrow, but I knew this was the Ancient One's grandson Kubo. I then saw him scream again and I couldn't blame him since the skeleton was throwing the hand holding the beetle guy towards his body to crush him, so I steered my wings towards him and grabbed him as I flew past, barely dodging the skeletons hand and held Kubo against my chest. As we got closer to the ground, I quickly turned around and threw three of my orange shuriken right at the skull, hitting it around the eyes and jaw. When we were only a few feet from the floor, I pulled my wings in and came to land in a crouch and slid to a stop before I looked up just in time to see the shuriken explode making the skeleton roar in anger as it dropped the monkey and beetle man. Fortunately, the beetle man spread his wings and was able to grab monkey before flying up to us as I let Kubo go but before any of them could say anything, I said.

"Introductions will come later, just know that I'm a friend who's here to help but I'm going to need to know if we're here for the Sword Unbreakable." They nodded before the beetle man said.

"It's in the skeletons head but it's there are also a lot of fakes." We all dodged out of the way of the skeletons giant foot.

"Are the fakes strong?" They all replied.

"NO!" I smiled and pulled out six more orange shuriken.

"Good, that'll make narrowing down the choice a lot easier." As the skeleton leaned down to try and grab us, I threw the shuriken at its skull, planting them all within it and a few seconds later they went off causing a shower of metal to fall on us as the skeleton roared in anger, but it took out all the fake swords leaving one. "That's the Sword Unbreakable."

They all nodded before we all had to dodge another grab from the skeleton which gave me the chance to jump onto its arm and run up towards the head. As soon as I reached the neck, I jumped onto the skeletons head and ran for the only remaining sword that was left and undamaged from my orange shuriken's explosion. I grabbed onto the hilt of the sword and began yanking it, ducking beneath the hands of the skeleton before I finally pulled it out and held it high for a moment until I realized the skeleton had stopped moving. A moment later the skeleton began falling apart as did the entire room, making me fall with it but I spread my wings as did the beetle man who grabbed Kubo and the monkey, flying for the entrance and flew right through with me following. We burst through the eyehole of a skull shaped cave and came out into the outside and come to land on a beach with the beetle man coming to land on his head, throwing both Kubo and the monkey aside while I came to land on my own two feet before I pulled my wings in. I stood back up and looked around while stabbing the Sword Unbreakable into the sand before dusting the sand off as I asked.

"Everyone alright?" Before anyone could reply, the monkey grabbed the Sword Unbreakable and pointed it at me.

"Who are you?" I held my hands up.

"Easy there now, I'm a friend." She didn't look convinced before Kubo walked up.

"He did save us from that giant skeleton and help us get the Sword Unbreakable." The beetle man then said.

"Maybe we should just hear him out and since he did help us out in there." The monkey looked annoyed but nodded although she did not lower the sword.

"My name is Hiccup, and I was sent by the Ancient One to help you gather the armor and deal with Moon Kings attempts to stop you and take Kubo." They all looked confused before the beetle man began rubbing his head with two hands.

"Wait!" We all turned to him. "The Ancient One sounds familiar and somehow reminds me of Hanzo but also ninja something." I looked at him.

"The Ancient One is a ninja master, retired champion of the gods and Hanzo's father which means Kubo is his grandson." They all stared at me before the monkey said.

"But Hanzo was a samurai, not a ninja." I nodded.

"According to the Ancient One, Hanzo chose to follow the same path as his grandfather from his mother's side since he wanted to more publicly serve the people to give them hope when they'd lost things or family to bandits." They nodded before Kubo asked.

"If this Ancient One really is my grandfather on my father's side, then why didn't he come himself?"

"He wanted to come, but he was forbidden by the other gods since they claimed it was not his destiny to interfere with your journey, but it is part of my destiny which somehow became intertwined and it's now my job to aid you in claiming the armor." They all stared at me for a few moments before the monkey sighed.

"Alright, we're going to need all the help we can get but know this, if you betray us then I'll kill you." I nodded.

"Don't worry, I may serve the gods, but I have no love for the Moon King." She nodded before the beetle man walked up.

"Alright, so now that we've gotten all that out of the way, let's do official introductions." He gestured to himself. "I'm beetle," He pointed at a little red origami samurai on the ground which looked to be alive. "and this is Hanzo." He then rubbed his head. "I think." I raised an eyebrow before the monkey said.

"He has memory issues." I nodded. "You can call me monkey and my job are to make sure Kubo is safe." Kubo then walked up.

"I'm Kubo and I guess I'm the one who you were sent to help." I smiled at him.

"Well as you all know, I'm Hiccup who's been sent to help you all in any way I can." Monkey then began walking.

"Now that introductions are done, let's go since we have a lot of walking to do." Beetle then said.

"You can't be serious."

"I'm always serious." Kubo then asked.

"Are you two going to fight again?" Monkey replied.

"Of course not, we're having a grown-up conversation." I rolled my eyes having heard that enough times as a kid being raised in a Viking village.

"Just because you call it a conversation doesn't mean it's not fighting."

"Alright can you just stay out of this since you haven't been a part of this group for even an hour." Beetle then just pointed away as he said.

"Hiccup why don't you and Kubo just go over there and play with something." Kubo the sword before Monkey said.

"Not that!" I rolled my eyes and looked out at the waters while Kubo began to play his shamisen before I turned to him.

"So do you guys have a way to find the other pieces of the armor?" He nodded.

"Hanzo can lead us since he can somehow sense them." I raised an eyebrow.

"That little origami samurai?" He nodded. "You confused?" I chuckled.

"Kubo, my life has been pretty crazy with countless creatures that would make you freeze in shock, so a little man made of paper being alive is not that big a deal." He nodded.

"Think you can tell me what they look like?" I smiled.

"I'll be happy to but first we need to find a way across the lake since I don't think Beetles idea of swimming across won't work." He chuckled before he saw something in the water, but when I turned to look, all I saw a leaf until he began playing and the leaf moved again.

"How did you do that?"

"It's the magic I inherited from my mother which allows me to control paper and turn it into origami things which is how I told stories in the village and now it looks like I can control leaves as well." I looked around at the remains of an old shipwreck.

"I think we may have just found a way to get across the lake." I turned to him. "Do you think you can control more leaves?" He smiled clearly understanding what I was planning and got to work before I was treated to a show of Kubo making a boat out of the wreckage pieces and leaves and when Beetle and Monkey finally noticed, Kubo played one more note and the sails were dropped. "Looks like we now have a way to get across the lake." After that we boarded the ship and took off.

6 hours later

The trip had been pretty peaceful and actually rather fun with us discussing our lives and me using my golden spider to create illusions of the beasts I've faced while explaining what they are and how I killed them. Along with that, Beetle gave Kubo a lesson on archery with him hitting a fish with his first shot, but they didn't put a rope on the arrow, so the fish sunk into the waters. We were more prepared with monkey tying a rope to the arrow so we could pull it in for our dinner alongside some of the rations I'd brought with me. We did have a bit of a laugh with Kubo and Beetle playing with the sliced up raw fish that Hanzo was throwing up for beetle to catch in his mouth. A couple of minutes ago though we'd found the Breastplate Impenetrable, but it was beneath the waters and beetle had volunteered to dive for it just as a storm was coming in despite Kubo warning him that his mother had told him about the lake having a garden of eyes which stare into your soul and show you things to keep you down there with them forever.

Now sadly, a storm had come in so Monkey wanted to head for shore before the entire ship sunk even though beetle hadn't returned yet which neither me or Kubo would agree to since I never left a man or beetle behind. While Monkey and I argued though Kubo jumped in the water to go after Beetle shocking us both until Monkey tried to jump in after him, only for chains with a four clawed foot shaped weight to wrap around her back leg, pulling her back as a cold chuckle echoed through the night.

This brings us to now with me looking up at a womanlike creature holding the chain in one hand and a sickle in the other. She was dressed in completely black clothes, wearing a wide straw hat with disturbing Noh masks covering her face, a feathery with dark black body armor covering her entire body. The only visible part of her was her jet-black hair that was tied into a ponytail and fluttering in the harsh winds of the storm making her appear more terrifying. It wasn't hard to figure out that this was one of Kubo's aunts and had come to not only kill us but take Kubo's other eye before taking him to her father. I glared at her and was grateful Monkey had the Sword Unbreakable strapped to her back since she'd need it, but I was torn from my thoughts when the woman said.

"How pathetic that this filthy creature is all that's left of my sisters magic." I clenched my fists and brought out my own chain sickle swinging the blade weight around.

"This filthy creature will tear you apart." I decided to make my presence known and yelled.

"AND I'LL HELP HER!"

Nobodies POV:

Hiccup threw the blade at the sister who quickly used her sickle to knock it aside before Hiccup pulled it back, but he it was able to draw her attention from Monkey, long enough for her to charge at her with the Sword Unbreakable. The sister saw her coming and blocked the sword with her sickle and threw her back just as Hiccup threw his own blade at her, but she turned to the side, allowing it to harmlessly fly by before Hiccup pulled it back. As he did though, he sent a small jolt up the chain, making the blade swing down and scratch the shoulder of the sister who let out a small cry of pain before she looked down at Hiccup who simply smirked which only fueled her anger as she said.

"You will pay for that!" Hiccup didn't get the chance to reply as Monkey leapt at her, but the sister was quick to act and delivered a quick spin kick throwing Monkey back down to the deck and into Hiccup who quickly caught her and asked.

"You, okay?" Monkey nodded but before they could continue the fight, the leaves that made up the boats hull began to float up and coming undone and they both knew what this meant and spoke.

"KUBO!"

Before either of them could dive in to go and help him, the sister used the distraction to fly down and deliver a hard kick to Hiccups gut, throwing him off the ship and into the water as she wrapped her chains around Monkey, pinning her arms to her sides and the Sword Unbreakable to her back and then slowly floated up with her as she said.

"I have crushed creatures that could fit this world on their fingernail." She held her sickle towards monkeys' neck. "This victory brings me no honor." The sister pulled her sickle but as she swung, Monkey turned around to block it with the Sword Unbreakable and then when she was facing the sister again, used both feet to kick her back, loosening her chains in the process, allowing Monkey to go free with both landing on the deck, the sister on her back and monkey on her legs as she drew the sword and said.

"Imagine how you're going to feel when you lose." Monkey charged at her sword ready with the sister holding her sickle, ready to meet her before their blades met, throwing them both back. "I felt loss only once." She threw her sickle, but Monkey blocked it and it was pulled back. "Eleven years ago, I lost my sister." She threw the clawed weight at Monkey who jumped and kicked her down. "She fell in love with a fool and betrayed our father." Their weapons clashed forcing Monkey to the back of the ship. "She was an ungrateful coward."

She slammed her sickle down where Monkey once was, but Monkey dodged it and jumped over her before the sister turned around throwing her clawed weight at Monkey's exposed back. Before it could reach her though, the blade of Hiccups onikuma wakizashi flew at the chains from the side, hitting between the link and pinning it to the side of the mast. Both women turned to see a very wet and very annoyed Hiccup, standing on the railing of the ship with his arm held out as he panted and glared at the sister. She growled and pulled her chain, freeing it from the blade and sending it flying high, but Hiccup leapt up and grabbed it before hitting the mast and jumping at the sister. The sister dodged before she brought the sail down as Monkey slid beneath and came to stop next to Hiccups as stood up while asking

"Who's the coward now."

Both Monkey and Hiccup looked around before Hanzo pointed behind them right as Hiccup sensed her and turned around and raised his wakizashi to block the sickle coming down on him giving Monkey the opportunity to deliver a kick to her gut sending her sliding back. Hiccup and Monkey charged at her from both sides with Monkey coming from the left and Hiccup from the right but the sister ducked beneath Hiccups slash and kicked him in the gut, throwing him back into the railing while also knocking the air out of him. This allowed her to deal with Monkey, bringing her sickle down on her, but Monkey caught the blow with the Sword Unbreakable and turning it into a fight of strength. This fight was ended by a distraction in the form Beetle comes back with fish they shot and lost which gave the sister the opening she needed to disarm Monkey, knocking the Sword Unbreakable from her grip and having it land in front of beetle.

The sister then charged at Beetle before he grabbed the Sword Unbreakable which he then used to block her blows until she hooked her sickle on it and threw it back onto the other side of the now crumbling ships deck. She then delivered a hard kick to Beetles gut sending him back onto the floor but as she raised her sickle to end him, she let out a scream of pain. The reason for this is Hiccup had recovered from her blow and threw two grey shuriken at her back, hitting her right in the back of her shoulders before Monkey threw her own weight at her, wrapping it around her neck. She then pulled her back, swinging her around into the sail until she hit the mast allowing Hiccup the chance to bind her with her own chains as he looked at Beetle and yelled out.

"BEETLE, WE'VE GOT THIS HANDLED BUT KUBO IS STILL DOWN THERE!"

Beetle nodded and jumped back over just as the mast pole collapsed forcing Hiccup and Monkey to jump back while the sister flew forward and freed herself from the chains just as the ship broke in two. Fortunately, for Hiccup, he was on the same side of the ship with the Sword Unbreakable while Monkey leapt across pieces of the ship to reach the other side with the sister continuously throwing her weight at her. When Money made it to the other half of the ship, she climbed up to the end of the mast that had fallen up on it and glared at the sister who said

"It never ceases to amaze me how the creatures down here fight so hard just to die another day." Monkey replied.

"Down here there are days' worth fighting for." Hiccup pulled out the Sword Unbreakable and continued.

"And things that are worth fighting to protect." The sister threw her clawed weight at the piece of the mast but got it hooked to the wood as the sister cried.

"There is nothing down here worth anything." Monkey jumped on and ran across chain and went for the Sword Unbreakable as Hiccup threw it to her, but the sister threw claw catching her in the side as she said.

"It's pathetic what happened to my sister, I looked up to her, she was so strong, and love made her weak." Monkey was just able to grab the Sword Unbreakable as she cried out.

"NO!" The sister pulled monkey back. "IT MADE ME STRONGER!"

She flew at the sister sword raised high and a moment later, the sister was no more with her mask broken in two and sinking into the water but neither of the two victors celebrated since a moment later Beetle burst from the water with Kubo and brought him over to Monkey while Hiccup jumped across the floating pieces towards them. He arrived just in time to hear Beetle explain how Kubo was unconscious and how the eyes had him in some sort of trance while he was down below the waters with them as Monkey tried reviving him. They were fortunate in helping him recover which he did while his magic rebuilt the ship but the moment he woke up, he revealed that Monkey was his mother before she embraced him, calling him her son. After that, they were able to head for shore where they docked on a beach that had a cave that they'd be able to spend the night in and take time to recover from their battle.

Hiccups POV:

Me, Kubo and Beetle sat around the fire in the cave we'd all taken shelter in but we were all focused on Monkey who was gathering firewood as she said.

"I know you're all staring." I decided to break the ice.

"Yeah, but can you blame us, we just arrived after barely surviving an attack from the Moon Kings daughter who it turns out is your sister and to top it off, you're Kubo's mother so I think we're entitled to know why this is all happening." She turned to us and sighed.

"I suppose I owe you all at least that much." She then gave Kubo a look. "But I will need some help." Kubo nodded and readied his shamisen. "My sisters and I went to the temple of Bones to kill Hanzo." Kubo began to play before branches, leaves and flowers floated up to form stars and a moon. "At the bidding of the moon king my sisters and I had come down from the night sky and killed many noble warriors." I raised eyebrow. "Our father told us that any man who found the magical armor would grow too powerful and be a threat to the heavens." I nodded understanding his fear of this and wanting to protect his home. "That night I arrived at the temple before my sisters and there he was, the mighty Hanzo." A flower that was a star turned into a woman's form while a leaf turned into a horned man's form. "You have offended my father, I told him, now you must die." Beetle then said.

"Yeah, that's so you." I glared at him before turning back to Monkey.

"We fought!" We watched the leaf and flower fight, bouncing around from branches and leaves. "Hanzo was strong but then he stopped." Monkey looked down. "He looked into my eyes and uttered four simple words; these words changed everything." The leaf caressed the face of the flower as Beetle looked at his fingers and counted as he said.

"I love you." He paused. "Monkey?" I rolled my eyes before Monkey continued.

"You are my quest, he whispered." She gave a gentle smile. "I had seen the wonders of the universe but the warmth of his gaze as I looked into his eyes, that I had never known, it was his humanity I saw, and it was more powerful than anything in my cold realm." She looked down. "And recognizing his compassion, I recognized my own, I spared his life and he gave me mine and then he gave me you." A small seed floated up to join the two forms, cradled in the flower's arms. "But your grandfather found us." Flower and leaf unfolded and fell into Monkeys hand with the seed. "His rage at my betrayal shook the heavens." Kubo stopped playing and everything his magic was manipulating fell. "Your father and his army gave their lives, allowing me to escape with you in my arms." We all looked down before Kubo looked up asking.

"Why does he hate me?" Monkey walked over and gently caressed his face.

"He doesn't hate you; he wants to make you just like him." Monkey looked down. "Blind to humanity as I was, only then can you take your place besides him as part of his family, cold, hard and perfect." Kubo clenched his fists.

"I'll never be like him." Kubo hugged Monkey who whispered.

"I know." A few minutes later, Kubo was asleep which allowed me the chance to ask Monkey some questions of my own so after she walked away from her sons sleeping form I asked.

"Monkey, if we're going to get the Helmet Invulnerable, then I need to know some things." Beetle walked up next to me.

"I'm with Hiccup." She nodded but winced catching our attention before Beetle rushed forward.

"You're hurt." She shook him off.

"It's nothing." Neither of us believed her which is something I wanted to make clear.

"Monkey, Kubo's a sleep and we're adults so you don't need to be strong for us." She nodded as I pulled out a jar filled with salves, I used to seal cuts. "Now hold still so I can tend to that wound." She sat down as I began applying the salve. "Now Monkey, you need to tell us why you never told us who you really are." She looked down.

"The magic that keeps me here, it's fading, soon it'll be gone." She looked back at Kubo. "And then he'll be alone again."

"You're wrong." She looked up at me. "When you're gone, he'll still have me and Beetle to look after him." She looked up at me. "I'll take them back to my island where your father won't be able to get to him without needing to go through me first and I'll make sure my family treats him as if he were our own." Beetle than said.

"And I'll also be there to help keep him out of trouble." Monkey looked at us.

"Thank you both." She looked down. "Knowing Kubo will have someone to watch over him when I'm gone would be a fine way to end my story." Beetle than said.

"Your story will never end for it will be told by him and by the people he shares it with, and by the people he shares it with, and by the people he shares it with-" I saw where this was going and cut him off.

"We get it."

"Sorry." We nodded. "My point is your story will live on in him." We both smiled at him.

"I hate to break the mood but if your other sister comes then we need to know what we're up against." Monkey nodded.

"My remaining sister dual wields two short swords and has a pipe which can create smoke clouds that she can use to manipulate, destroy and restrain others." I nodded.

"In other words, she's more deadly than her twin." Monkey nodded. "We'll all have to be on our guard when it comes to her." They both nodded. "For now, though, we need to rest, or we'll be in no shape to fight tomorrow." With that said we all got ready for bed.

Next day

Morning came too early for us, and it was made even earlier when Kubo woke us all up to let us know he had a dream which showed him the location of the Helmet Invulnerable. He claimed that it was at the mansion that would have been his home if his grandfather hadn't come and destroyed their lives while forcing his mother to flee with him which meant his father already had the helmet. We'd spent the entire day walking across the mountains, through the forests and fields to get there and reached it nightfall but what we found was not what we were expecting. The building was made on an island and looked like mansion with red tapestries that had the beetle emblem of the samurai clan Hanzo belonged to in black. The thing is, the place was in complete ruins with the tapestries being torn with some no longer hanging up, holes in the roof with what remained falling apart, the entire side sections looked to be burned down, walls crumbling, and the entire main building looked as if it had been pushed over. Inside was no better since all the furniture and items inside the house were either damaged by weather or smashed by the falling house, leaves covered most of what was left of the floor with bamboo growing out of it. Despite all the damage, we found a paper door with the image of Kubo's parents smiling down at a baby Kubo and in the room behind it we found what could only be described as a study with books and scrolls scattered around, a table with cushions around it and walls painted with images of the armor we'd been looking for and the things guarding it. While I scouted out the rest of the house for anything useful and because my prosthetic acted up to show there was some sort of dark magic item within the house, they continued to check the study for the helmet.

Turns out the dark magic imbued artifact was an old figure of an Oni demon which served an actual Oni demon and a powerful one who had been trying to break free for a while and now, he never would. While I dealt with the figure though, the others were in the courtyard where they were caught in the smoke of Kubo's aunts' pipe before she landed in front of them while I used my ninja skills and strategy to come up with a plan and wait for the right moment to strike. During the time I was preparing, the sister revealed much to our shock that Beetle was actually Hanzo, which means they didn't kill him, but she revealed they did something far crueler and turned him into the beetle man we knew and drained him of all his memories. To make things worse, she explained all this while torturing our poor paper Hanzo, using her smoke to bend and fold him into the beetle insignia.

Now she was going for Kubo's eye, and I was ready with my ox flame boots in speed mode with me being ready to rush in to strike while she was distracted, but Kubo took his bachi and struck her in the face, breaking her mask and her pipe out of her mouth, shattering it. This freed the others, and I could tell she was not pleased if her getting ready to slap her nephew which is when I decided to make my presence known and charged in with my tetsubo held high, striking her in the stomach and sending her flying into the wall. When she hit it, I smirked and said.

"That's no way to treat your nephew."

Monkey then charged in with the Sword Unbreakable held high and jumped into the dust cloud her sister had created on impact, but her sister rose up and blocked it with her two swords, quickly overpowering monkey. She pushed her away before delivering a kick, sending Monkey flying but before she could begin to approach her, I used the eye of the dragons to summon the five flaming discs and launch the chained spearheads at her. Sadly, the sister saw them coming and jumped into the air to avoid them making me smile since it would be harder for her to dodge and I was proven right by a katana that hit her from the side, sending her flying through the wall of a stable. We all turned to see it was Beetle who threw it, but we quickly forgot when we saw Monkey wasn't doing well and ran to her while Kubo held her head in his arms. We all knew she was dying, and she still had the strength to joke and say.

"I'm married to a bug."

Before any of us could reply, the sound of a blade piercing something could be heard and Beetle collapsed to reveal the sister just killed him by stabbing him in the back. Seeing my friend dead, filled me with rage and I glared at the sister who simply pointed her blade at us, but I didn't care and charged at her with my ox flame boots speed mode with my tetsubo held in front of me, slamming into her and charging her right into a wall. She kicked me off, sending me stumbling back as I summoned the laming discs once more and sent the spear heads at her and this time, I didn't miss with the spear heads pinning her arms and legs to the wall. Before I could deliver the final blow, Kubo ran forward with his bachi held high and his shamisen held firm before he brought his arm down creating a shockwave and that was the last thing I saw.

Next day

I groaned as I slowly opened my eyes and looked around and found the place was still the same wreck it was when I blacked out, but it was nearly nightfall. It was then my eyes landed on the broken mask of the sister who attacked us, and my memory caught up to me. I immediately stood up and looked around until my eyes landed on Kubo who was kneeling next to Beetle's dead body, broken wooden monkey charm and a squashed Hanzo. I rushed over to him using my ox flame boots speed mode and kneeled next to him before wrapping an arm around him as I said.

"I'm so sorry Kubo." He sniffled as I took off my spiderpack gaining his attention. "We'll take Beetle's body with us and give him a proper burial when this is all over and the monkey charm is something, we'll keep to remember your mother." He nodded as I began loading them into my spiderpack while he took the string from Beetles bow and turned it into a bracelet, sheathed the Sword Unbreakable to his hip before he walked over to a piece of parchment while I finished up and added Beetles bow to the stuff and then picking up my spiderpack as I sighed while putting it on. "Well, we've lost two of our own and we still don't know where the helmet is, so our quest is not going well." I turned to Kubo who was staring at the parchment. "Is something wrong Kubo?" He looked up at me.

"I know where the Helmet is." I raised an eyebrow.

"You do?"

"Before my mother died, she told to me to fly home and now I know why." He gave me the parchment and my eyes widened since it showed where the helmet was.

"This place is your village?" He nodded making me smile.

"My mother told me to fly home." He looked to the sky. "And now I know why." He readied his bachi. "Let's go.". He brought his bachi down on the last string of his instrument, sending a shockwave through the courtyard before what remained of the tapestries flew towards us and wrapped around us to form wings which carried us away.

1 hour later

We came to land in the middle of a burned down village and looked around before Kubo pointed up at what looked to be a village bell that was hung up high, but we both knew it was the Helmet Invulnerable, the last piece of armor that would help Kubo defeat the Moon King, his grandfather. I took out one of my grey shuriken and threw it at the rope holding the helmet allowing the helmet to fall but before it could hit the ground, I caught it in my hands and turned to Kubo, kneeled so I could look him in the eye as I said.

"Now Kubo, when you confront your grandfather than it'll all be up to you since I'm not allowed to help you take him on as this is the final challenge of your quest."

"I understand." He took the helmet and nodded. "It's my battle, not yours, but if my grandfather defeats me and takes my other eye then just know that I'm truly grateful for all you've done for me." I smiled and ruffled his hair.

"You make it sound like you're going to lose." He smiled. "Just believe in yourself like I do and the way your parents believed in you." He smiled before someone from behind asked.

"Kubo?" We turned around and saw some people with and old lady peaking from behind the rubble. "Is that you?" Kubo rushed forward.

"You have to leave this place, the Moon King, he's coming." Everyone gasped and fled to the woods, but I could see the worry in Kubo's eyes.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure they're alright." He smiled and nodded before he ran up and hugged me, catching me by surprise but I returned the hug and when he let go, I took off while praying to every god I knew for his victory.

Nobodies POV:

Kubo took a breath and placed the helmet on his head and all pieces of the armor glowed before Kubo held out the sheathed Sword Unbreakable and pulled it out, dropping the sheath as he cried out.

"GRANDFATHER!" He held up the Sword Unbreakable. "IT'S ME, KUBO!" He looked around. "I KNOW YOU CAN SEE ME!" He spun around and as soon as his back was turned a voice greeted.

"Hello grandson." Kubo readied the Sword Unbreakable at the glowing blue figure who took the form of a blind old man wearing a light blue kimono with a breastplate that had his insignia on it. "It's so good to see you at last." He let out a chuckle. "So, to speak." Kubo picked up a rock. "And I see you found the armor." He sighed and began approaching. "Seems your mother had a reason to bring you to this awful place after all." Kubo threw the rock at his head, but the Moon King caught it and the smile left his face. "I see." Kubo took the Sword Unbreakable in both hands.

"I know you do." He glared at his grandfather. "That's how this all began; you finally saw me." He looked down. "It was my fault; I should've listened to my parents." His grandfather hummed as he approached Kubo.

"Kubo, we both want the exact same thing."

"You want to take my other eye, THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT!"

"Well yes but do you know why I want it?"

"Because you're old and mean and cruel!" Raiden let out a chuckle.

"Woah now, that's a little harsh." He was right in front of Kubo now, but he walked past although Kubo never let the Sword Unbreakable's point move from him. "As long as you cling to that silly useless eye, you cannot come up to live with me in the heavens." He spread his hands out at this last part before his face took on a look of disgust as he spread his arms. "You'll be stuck down here in this," He spread his arms. "Hell!" He lowered his arms and leaned in before his voice took on a mocking tone. "Staring with that lonely eye at hate and heartache and suffering and death." He walked away from Kubo before he took a breath. "Where I want to take you, we have none of those things." He smiled. "It'll just be you, with your family, where you belong."

"My family is gone, you killed them." Raiden shook his head.

"No!" He leaned forward and swung his arms. "They brought their fates upon themselves!" He growled. "They disgraced me," He placed a fist against his chest. "and upset the order of everything!" Kubo stood his ground and whispered.

"That's how your story goes." Raiden took a breath.

"Oh Kubo," He held out his hands. "When you are up there with me you will be beyond stories." He held his hands out. "You will be," He opened his hands. "Immortal!" He lowered his arms. "You will be-" He cut himself off, laughing as he held out his closed hand. "Infinite!" He opened his hand.

"No, you're wrong, not infinite." He shook his head slightly. "All stories have an end." All kindness left Raiden's face

"Is that right?" He walked forward. "And how does this story end?" Kubo took his battle stance.

"I kill you!" Raiden walked towards him.

"Oh, very well." Kubo kept the sword steady. "Is this your wish?" Raiden walked right into the blade. "To do battle with a hideous monster who ruined your life?" He pushed against it, sending Kubo's feet sliding across the stones that made the path. "To prove your worth, like your doomed father?" He gave Kubo one last glare. "How mortal!"

His skin seemed to turn to wood that wrapped around him like a chrysalis before Kubo heard him grunting beneath that form as his body started swelling up before it explodes upward where his grandfather's new form was revealed to be that of a snake mixed with a crustacean with a humanoid monstrous face with crustacean small limbs beneath his underbelly as the upper part of his whole body is in the form of a crustacean shell layer over layer straight down to his tail with a spiky spine sticking out with the biggest one in the middle of his gigantic form as it went down one after the other before reaching the tail which looks like a fish which took the form of an actual bony hand. This beast flew into a spiral before flying straight towards the Kubo and let out a roar to expose two large canines on its upper jaw as the moon. As soon as he began his attack, Kubo charged in before sliding to his knees raising his blade cutting the moon King on the right side of his underbelly before quickly turning to his left getting back to his feet as his grandfather turned to the left as well looking at Kubo. He climbed up into the air and then dived straight down and while this was happening Kubo was running straight towards him before taking a giant leap raising the blade and slashing his grandfather's right eye. This caused the monster to scream and pain as it crashed into the ground wiggling like a worm smashing into the damaged building as it slapped its tail to the ground

As the piece quickly got up Kubo gas and runs jumping through a window of one of the ruined buildings as his grandfather chases after him smashing through the wreckage before once again jumps through another building which had half of its entire structures and remove leaving only one wall Still Standing before his grandfather smashed through it, chasing after him to the main road of the village as this is happening he is swinging his Tails destroying more buildings in his Chase before Kubo jumps to one section of wreckage and jumps again to evade his grandfather has he tries to grab Kubo to the right before smashing through another wreckage I'm going up into the air as Cuba lands on another burnt board swinging the Sword Unbreakable at his grandfather and successfully cutting off one of the front legs of his monstrous grandfather's form as luminescent blood spilled to the ground.

With a mighty Roar his Raiden charged at Kubo striking him with his head knocking him away, making him let go of the sword and smash through wrecked buildings before flying up to the air. Soon, Kubo pushed the wreckage off, but he noticed the Sword Unbreakable, stabbed into the ground as his grandfather began to charge at Kubo again but he made a dash before his grandfather could reach him. Raiden charged after him, but he managed to grab the sword, but it was too late as his grandfather caught him by the waist, holding him up in the air as he flew before spitting him into the hand like end of his tail which closed around him and began to squeeze while Raiden began to laugh. He brought Kubo up to his face as he said.

"You want to be human?" He knocked the Helmet Invulnerable off with the thumb of his tail. "Then share their weakness, suffer their humiliation, Feel their pain!" He dropped Kubo to the ground and just as Kubo looked up he used his tail to slap Kubo into the woods, knocking him through several branches before he landed in the graveyard near the river

As soon as Kubo lands on the ground the sword stabbed right in front of him a few feet away as his shamisen flew past and landed a little further. Kubo quickly tried to get back on his feet while his grandfather started flying through the trees, slowly hissing as he approaches his grandson. Hearing this Kubo quickly grabbed the sword but noticed the two bracelets he kept to remind him of his parents on his wrist, one made of his mother's hair and the other made from his father's bow string. He looked at the two strings and began to realize another way to stop Raiden and took them both off, gaining a look of determination as he stared at them. As Raiden closed in towards the cemetery, he dragged his bony hand at the end of his tail, across the trees scarring them as he grew ever closer to his grandson. While he did that, Kubo removed the Breastplate Impenetrable and tossed it to the ground and began to set the two bracelets up as strings for his shamisen before he heard the cackling of his grandfather closing in. As Kubo finished preparing the new strings for his shamisen while kneeling the graveyard, Raiden started slowly flying in and said.

"This is the end of your story!" He then began circling him. "Now take one last look with that lonely eye." During this time his body, illuminated the woods which showed the villagers hiding with in it peeking out to watch in awe and fear at what was happening. "One last look at this wretched place that you call home." Kubo pulled out one of his own hairs as he said.

"I'm not leaving." He began to attach it to the bottom of his shamisen. "For every horrible thing down here," He begins to string his hair alongside the other two strings while his grandfather stared at him. "there's something far more beautiful." He finished preparing it. "My mother saw it, so did my father, I see it even with just one eye" His grandfather leaned in close.

"Then I'll just have to rip it out from your head again, won't I?" Kubo didn't flinch and instead played the strings of his shamisen.

"If you must blink do it now." He struck the chords on his shamisen sending a shockwave of his power throughout the entire graveyard lighting the candles of the lanterns that floated upon the river behind him restoring their glow. Kubo looked at his grandfather with a sad look. "Because without it, I cannot look into the eyes of another and see their soul and their love!" Raiden screamed in denial.

"EVERYTHING YOU LOVE IS GONE!" He got in close. "EVERYTHING YOU KNEW HAS BEEN TAKEN FROM YOU!"

"NO, it's in my memories, the most powerful kind of magic there is!"

He struck the chords of his shamisen again, sending out another shockwave before the lanterns upon the river began to take form of the spirits of the people who have passed away all giving off a warm candles shine as they began to approach Kubo, to stand by him. Raiden reared back groaning in disgust at the site as Kubo continued.

"It makes us stronger than you'll ever be." Hiccup and the villagers who were hiding in the woods came out an joined the spirits at Kubo's side to support him against his grandfather before Kubo pointed to both the spirits of the villagers. "These are the memories of those we have loved and lost and if we hold their stories deep in our hearts then you will never take them away from us!"

Raiden screamed in fear at the magic that was being performed in front of him. Kubo once again struck the chords of his shamisen creating a magical barrier that surrounds them all as his grandfather roared in anger and tried to slam against the barrier to destroy it but the barrier held no matter how many times he struck it. He shook his head while looking straight at Kubo while Kubo looked back at him with his only eye closed before he said.

"That really is the least of it."

Raiden growled before letting out a roar and charged at Kubo who gathered his magic into his hand, causing it to glow before he struck the chords the spirits gathered together to form a wave of smoke that charged at the Moon King who glowed once more as a cloud of smoke formed. When the smoke cleared, the Moon King was no more and in his place was an old man wearing a light blue kimono with white patterns on it, white hair tied up into a Japanese style bun and a scar running across his right eye leaving it blind. The elderly man looked around as he asked.

"Who am I?" Kubo walked up.

"Hello, grandfather." Raiden looked at Kubo.

"Hello." He held up a shaky hand. "What happened to your eye?"

"Don't you remember?" He looked down.

"No, I'm sorry young man." He looked at his hands. "I seem to have forgotten my story." He looked up at Kubo. "Can you help me?" Kubo looked uneasy before Kameyo said.

"I'll tell him." She came out from behind the tomb stone. "We'll all tell him." She walked forward. "We'll tell him everything he needs to know." She walked up to him. "You are the kindest sweetest man to ever live in this village." She helped him up.

"Really?"

"Yes!"

A little girl then walked up and began telling him good things he did like walking around the village smiling and handing out coins to children like her with Kameyo adding, and to old women. Following that people came forward telling him all the good things he never did, making him seem like a kindhearted gentle soul. It was then Kameyo said.

"You know we have something in common." She gestured to Kubo. "We both adore your grandson." Kubo looked up at this. "His name is Kubo."

"Kubo!" He looked down in thought before shaking his head. "I'm sorry, but I don't remember." Kameyo led him forward.

"Well, your grandson's a storyteller." Raiden kneeled down in front of Kubo. "He will tell you all the stories you've forgotten."

"Really?" Kubo looked uneasy for a moment before smiling and placing a hand on his grandfather's shoulder.

"Of course!"

Hiccup watched all this from his place up on a tree branch with the Helmet Invulnerable under his arm and smiled at what he was seeing, knowing that Raiden the Moon King would never harm another mortal, ever again. He looked down at the Helmet Invulnerable and knew that if there was one thing Raiden was right about when he was still the Moon King, it was that this armor was too dangerous to be left in the hands of a mortal. He looked at Kubo and knew he'd need to discuss it with him since he was the one who used them, but for now he'd let him remake his grandfather into the kindhearted mortal man the village would need.

1 day later

Hiccups POV:

It's been a day since Kubo defeated his grandfather and that day had been spent helping the villagers dig through the rubble of their village to search for anything that survived the attack while also helping Kubo with his grandfather, claiming he helped me find the village and taught me about the culture when I first came to this land. Kubo fortunately backed me up and explained to the villagers that I helped him on his trip out of town and that I could be trusted to help them in anyway needed. During the digging, I let Kuno know that we'd need to discuss the armor when his grandfather was busy since we didn't need the risk of him remembering or getting flashes like Hanzo did. Now we were sitting across from each other in the cemetery with the armor laid out between us as I said.

"We can't leave this armor alone Kubo, and you can't keep it since there are a lot of people who'll want it and won't hesitate to kill you in order to take control of it." He nodded.

"I understand but what are we going to do with it?" A voice from the forest answered.

"You should give those back to the one who created them." We both turned to see who spoke and when I did, I quickly leaned down in a bow.

"Ancient One, I am honored to see you again at the end of this quest." He nodded before Kubo asked.

"Who's the tiny guy?" The Ancient One gave him a glare.

"That is no way to greet your grandfather!" Kubo raised an eyebrow.

"You're my grandfather?"

"On your fathers' side."

"Then why are you here now?" He smiled.

"I am here to both congratulate you on stopping an enemy who has plagued this world for so many years and to retrieve the armor." Kubo looked confused as he asked.

"You said we should return the armor to the one who created it?" He nodded. "Do you know him?"

"I am him!" He walked up next to the armor and looked down at it in sadness. "I created this armor long ago when your father first chose to take the path of the samurai so he would be able to better serve the people against more magical foes."

"But the armor was said to have been made centuries ago." The Ancient One rolled his eyes.

"People say that about all magical items that have yet to be claimed and they do not know the origin of." I then asked.

"Ancient One, if I may ask, if this armor was made for your son than why were the pieces in these places which in the case of the sword and breastplate, under the guard of monsters?"

"Because he needed to prove himself worthy before he could claim them like the yokai weapons you wield." We nodded before Kubo said.

"Grandfather, there's something you should know about my father."

"Is it about him being turned into the beetle man after having his memories being taken from him?" We all stared at him before I asked.

"You knew?"

"Of course, I knew, he was my son, and I loved him as much as I loved his adopted brothers who chose the path of ninja, so I always kept an eye on him." He looked down. "And it broke my heart to see what fate awaited him, but I could never help as I was forbidden from interfering." Kubo looked down sadly at this before he looked up.

"I understand."

"If it makes you feel any better, both your parents are now living with me in my home, and they are both very proud of you for what you have done to your grandfather." Kubo smiled.

"Would it be possible for me to come visit them." The Ancient One lowered his head and shook it.

"I am sorry, but I can have letters delivered to you from them and do the same for you." Kubo nodded before the Ancient One turned to me.

"Hiccup, I forgot to mention, the gods send their thanks for your help in dealing with this situation and all agree that leaving Raiden as a mortal man for now would be a good way for him to understand why his daughter betrayed him." We both nodded. "Now there's something we need to discuss about the village." We both looked confused. "I've been in contact with the gods, and they believe that both the village and its inhabitants would be in danger if left alone due The Moon King's allies wanting him back and with him now living in the village, they won't hesitate to attack and this time wipe them out." Kubo replied to this in a voice full of determination.

"I won't let that happen!" The Ancient One smiled.

"Neither will the gods who are not too big on the idea of the Moon King returning too soon which is why they gave me this." He reached into his vest and tossed an item he pulled out to me, and I caught it easily, examining it and found it to be a crimson crystal island piece with one smoothed out part that was flat and clear as glass. "The decision will be theirs, but the gods do wish for them to leave for their own safety and live with you on your island where they continue to help Raiden see the beauty of this world and what better place than an island where the worlds environments meet." We both nodded.

"I'll do my best to help convince them, but it won't be easy to convince them to leave their homes and cemetery where their loved one's rest." He nodded.

"That is not going to be something to worry about as that crystal shall bring in all their homes, buildings, belongings and the graves of their loved ones and it already contains something special which rightfully belongs to Kubo and in order to pull them in, simply walk into the center of the village and hold it up high." Kubo smiled.

"That will make things a lot easier." The Ancient One nodded.

"I feel it will be easier for them to settle in if they have a familiar place to live, especially considering all the crazy things you have calling that place home." I glared at him.

"The inhabitants aren't that weird."

"Hiccup, you have a wife who can turn into a giant white python, one who has the acrobatic abilities of a leopard, a woman who can control plants, one who can turn into a nine tailed fox and those are just your wives." I glared at him as Kubo looked at me.

"You have four wives?"

"A story for another time." He nodded as the Ancient One began to collect the armor.

"You need some help." He smiled and shook his head before it shrunk down into the size of his hand, allowing him to put it away in his vest. "I will make sure the armor remains safe until you are old enough to wield it Kubo." He then gestured to me. "Don't worry though, with Hiccup as your trainer, it won't take long." He smiled and nodded. "In the meantime, I have something that should help in the meantime and afterwards." He reached into his vest and pulled out a palm sized leather bag before offering it to Kubo who hesitantly took it. "What is in this bag is a limitless supply of paper talismans which hold a great deal of magic which shall only answer to you and have powerful abilities that shall grow with your own magic."

"I can't wait to see what they do." I groaned.

"Why do I get the feeling that those talismans are going to bring me a lot of headaches?" The Ancient One let out a small chuckle.

"Because those things are going to cause you a few headaches like all the weapons that are given to your kids for the first time." I groaned and ran a hand through my hair knowing things were going to be difficult at home. "Now Hiccup, I understand you have my son's body along with the wooden monkey charm." I nodded. "Please bring them out." I took off my spiderpack and lay it down before I brought out Hanzo's body and the broken monkey charm and the Ancient One looked down at them in sadness. "My son, you did not deserve this cruel fate and neither did your wife."

He reached into his vest and pulled out two paper talismans before placing one on Hanzo's body and one on the monkey charm before they glowed brightly, blinding us for a few seconds. As quickly as it appeared though, it just as quickly disappeared and in their places were a red stone talisman with a black beetle insignia on it the size of the charm and wooden monkey charm, good as new. The Ancient One picked them up and handed them to Kubo as he said.

"Use these to remember your parents when you pray for them alongside these." He pulled out two scrolls and gave them to Kubo who nodded. "Well with that done, I will be taking my leave and Kubo, when your time comes, both your parents and I look forward to welcoming you into our home but in the meantime, just do the same ritual with the lanterns as you the other villagers." With that said, he pulled out a small black pellet before throwing it to the ground and in a puff of smoke that didn't last even a second, but it was enough for him to disappear without a trace leaving us to look around before Kubo turned to me.

"How did he do that?" I just smiled.

"Kubo, when it comes to ninja, it is best not to ask how they do these things since it's far too complex to easily explain so for now, let's just go explain things to the villagers and your grandfather but explain it in a way that we don't bring up his past as the Moon King." He nodded before I grabbed my spiderpack and we took off back to the village.

3 days later

It's been three days since we met the Ancient One and since then we've discussed things with the villagers with all of them being hesitant to agree to move since this land was their home for generations. A lot of them changed their minds and agreed to come after Kubo explained the land would come with them along with their cemetery so they'd still be able to spend time with their loved ones who passed away. It didn't hurt that most of them didn't have family who were outside of the village with those who do have family aren't close to them since they live so far away and rarely see them if at all so they wouldn't miss them. The toughest part was explaining things to Raiden with me claiming that Kubo's father defeated a demon years ago and as revenge desired to wipe out his bloodline which led to the destruction of his village and the death of his daughter. It was because of this that we felt it best for everyone to move away to my island where they would not have to worry about the demons' minions attacking them.

This morning, we had everyone agree and I was able to pull the village and cemetery into the crystal with me holding it up high and after a bright flash, the ruins that was the village was gone as was the cemetery. The clear piece of the crystal became crimson like the other side and now had bumps on it and a large piece raised up at the edge of it making me wonder what it'd look like when it becomes a part of my island. Yesterday it was decided that I'd take everyone to my island using my ship since my portal doors would take too long, so I quickly went home, picked up my ship and returned before any of my family knew I was back since that would lead to a lot of explaining and the little ones crying at me not being back for too long since I wouldn't be able to play with them. It was thanks to my ninja training that I was able to get into my vault without anyone knowing I was in the building, and it didn't hurt that it was nighttime, and everyone was in bed sleeping, but I did drop by their rooms to check up on them. When I revealed my ship, a lot of questions came up, including one from Kubo who asked why I didn't bring it out at the Long Lake since it would have helped a lot, but he quieted down when I explained that I left it at home since it would make finding us easier for his aunts.

Now we were all on my ship with the villagers on the main deck with Kubo playing his shamisen and creating origami figures with his magic while everyone enjoyed listening to him tell the story of our journey together to claim the armor while I was in the map room looking down at them. I took a breath and walked up to my crystal map before directing it to New Berk before a portal opened up in front of my ship and just like that, I was on my way home with an entire village of people coming with me and I knew this would require a lot of explaining.

2 hours later

It took two hours, but I was able to settle everyone down in the bamboo forest by the shrine for now while I set up the new island piece and after I released it, I was surprised when the new piece came up next to the bamboo forest and had the mountain Kubo lived in facing away and out into the ocean. There were fields of tall yellow grass on the hill and at the bottom was a field leading to a river that had a bridge leading to a small island where the village was with a forest at the back and fields of grain surrounding it and behind it was a small forest. In the center of this forest was the cemetery with the river flowing right behind it and both the river flowing there and the one flowing through the village were connected to a river that now flowed through my bamboo forest. Opposite to the village, resting on a small island though was the temple that would have been Kubo's home if his grandfather didn't come in and had been fully restored to its original glory. There were two changes to its design though, and the first was the study which now had a small table with a wooden altar against the back wall with a table in front of it for the ceremonial items. It was here where the two scrolls the Ancient One gave Kubo were placed since they contained portraits of his parents and on the alters shelf beneath it is where he placed the pendant and talisman, in front of their respective portraits.

Alongside this there was a basement which only Kubo could enter since his shamisen's music was the key to open the trap door in the middle of the center of the courtyards floor. This led to a row of stairs with a door that had the beetle symbol on it and this door was one of the rice papers sliding doors that are common in Japan. This door leads to a room that looked like a large Japanese style room which seemed to go on forever with rice paper walls decorated by images of trees with endless doors covering the walls. These doors refused to open no matter how hard we pulled or what Kubo played which was confusing since we didn't know what was behind the doors. I had the feeling that the Ancient One was the one who made this room but what this was for was a mystery that we'd have to solve another time since we had multiple people to help, a village to rebuild, an old man's memories to recreate, villagers to calm since most of my islands inhabitants would scare the heck out of them and on top of all that, I'd need to explain to my people, my islands inhabitants and my family, none of which would be the least bit easy. Now I was standing outside my home and took a breath knowing things were going to be very busy and pushed the door open and got ready to face the challenge.

AN: Another challenge faced, multiple new allies gained and a whole mess of new issues to deal with and for those of you wondering what that room is for, you'll find out much later when Kubo has a better grip on the talismans powers and helped his people settle in. Also, to all those who haven't seen the movie 'Kubo and the two strings' you should since it's a good movie with good animation and story with an interesting plot. Anyway, till next time, have a nice day and please review as the last two chapters have only gotten one review and I am not happy since it makes me feel like nobodies reading this story anymore.
