"Nami is the name and I'm a thief that steals from pirates. You wanna team up? I bet we could make a lot of money." Nami says as she jumps down from the balcony she was sitting on. As she falls I catch a small glimpse of her blue and white striped panties. As well a small hint of her tail peeking out from just under her skirt.
Her outfit was more or less the same as it was at this point in the manga. A white short sleeve shirt with several large blue stripes, an orange mini skirt and black shoes. The only difference being that she was still wearing the black bandana, presumably to hide her ears.
"Stealing from pirates, you say? Well I'm up for a little thievery, I definitely won't turn down the chance to work with a lovely young lady like yourself."
"Oh aren't you the charmer"
"I try," I look back to pirate mooks I just knocked out." I take it we're stealing from the captain of these weaklings? Which pirate crew do they belong to?"
Even though I already knew the answer I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. She quickly grabs my hand, and pulls me into a nearby house. She sits down at the table and gestures for me to sit down as well. As I oblige and sit down she starts talking.
"Buggy the Clown, he's a rather notorious pirate in these parts. He's known for his love of cannons, and just being generally flashy and over the top. He has been known to kill people simply for making fun of his nose, even going as far as to blow up whole towns for it. And of course then there are the rumors."
"Rumors?" I ask in reply knowing full well that she was talking about his devil fruit.
"Yea, they say he has a really strange power!"
"Stange, how strange are we talking about like some kind of rare blood gift?" I ask as I mentally pray to God that blood gifts are still a thing in this world.
"No it's definitely not a blood gift," Nami replies, easing my worry about whether or not they existed. " It's something else."
"Well that would explain why this town looks abandoned, but what are you doing here? This is the third time I've seen you. First was back on Alvida's ship, then back in that military base, and now here!"
"I'm trying to get 100 million beli, in order to buy something very important."
I realize that I might be able to get Nami to admit that she works for Arlong early if I push the right buttons."But there must be safer ways to get 100 million? I mean stealing from pirates is not necessarily the best way to go about doing it? What if you encounter a pirate stronger than you? What if they find out you are stealing from them and capture you?"
"Hey I can handle myself!"
"I'm not saying you can't, but there are horrors in this world. People are not always nice, especially to people who you try to steal from . They could overpower you and take advantage of you. I would hate to see such a lovely girl become some pervert's toy."
"I told you I can handle myself!" Nami says as I see a look of irritation on her face.
"But I just want to make sure nothing happens to you." Time to see if I can get Nami to admit she is a pokegirl." Afterall dog girls are not known for their strength?"
"I'm not a dog girl, why would you think that?"
"Because I caught a glimpse of your tail as you jumped down from that balcony."
Nami's face goes pale as she comes to the realization that I knew what she really was. Nami looks at me with look of complete shock, "how did you-
"Well you did make it pretty obvious. Now tell me, are you trying to buy your hometown from a fishman named Arlong?" I decided to tell Nami a small tidbit of my advanced knowledge of this world." I heard he took over a small chain of islands here in the east. Those are your home, am I right?"
"What the fuck? How do you know that? Have you been following me?"
"No, let's just say I have an interest in Along, or more specifically bringing him to Justice."
"You're not a marine are you? Because you sure as hell don't look like one?"
"No I'm not and before you ask, I'm not a bounty hunter either. It's just that someone I know has been hurt by Along, and I intend to make him pay for her sake. "
Sure I already knew the answer, but I had to find a way to push Nami into revealing her story to me. If I could do that then it would be much easier to gain her trust earlier than canon Luffy.
"Judging by your reaction when I first mentioned him, the scars he left on you must be pretty deep."
"Yes," Nami says, hanging her head in defeat." He took over my village roughly 10 years ago, he demanded that all the villagers pay tribute to him. My mother had enough to pay for me and my sister, but not herself. He killed her as an example of what would happen if we didn't pay his tribute. But taking my mother away, is not the only way he's fucked with my life. Drawing maps and sea charts is a hobby of mine, he took notice of this and is forcing me to work for him, by holding my sister and the rest of my village hostage."
" Surely someone had the means to fight back. Are there no pokegirls in your village?"
"No, there are plenty of pokegirls, but we are a small farming and fishing village. We don't have a lot of powerful pokegirl breeds, and fishman can outrun some of the weaker water types. Even with the help of our pokegirls we didn't have a chance."
"And you really think he will keep his promise? He is a pirate after all, they are not known for being loyal. Tell you what? Since you have been sailing the seas stealing for nearly 10 years you must have some skills in navigation. If you join my crew as my navigator, then I will take out Arlong for you. "
"Take out Arlong! Are you fucking crazy or do you just have a death wish?"
"No, most people who bully those weaker than them only do so to compensate for their own weakness. I don't expect you to trust me or believe that I can take Arlong, but I will. I swear that I will kill the blue skinned son of bitch."
The look on Nami's face said it all: she was dumbfounded, that I had just said that I was going to take out Arlong. "You're crazy, you know that?
"Maybe but just give me a chance, and I have a plan to take out Buggy as well." I then proceed to tell Nami the exact same plan she had in the manga. She nods and says it's a sound plan, which is to be expected considering it's something she would have come up with herself.
I proceed to let Nami tie me up, as I think for a moment. If this follows Canon perfectly Zoro should show up soon. Nami leads me outside and points to a bar at the end of the street. As she leads me towards the bar, she says. "Oh and for the record I'm not a dog girl, I'm a Saltee."
"Of course," I say as I follow her down the street." One more thing, I wish for you to know if I'm going to help you take out Along, I'm a pirate."
Nami stops dead in her tacks," what did you say, Luffy?"
"I'm a pirate and I would like you to be my navigator."
"Out of the question! I hate Pirates!"
" And given your past with Arlong that is to be expected. However, I'm not expecting to you join right now, it's only an offer. But I promise you I will take out Arlong, so until that time comes I propose an alliance. Once Arlong is dead you can decide if you want to join me or not."
Nami thinks long and hard for a few minutes before looking back at me. I could see it in her eyes, she still didn't trust me. It was time to sweeten the deal. " If you help me out, then you can have as much of Buggy's treasure as you like."
Nami's eyes widen, as a big smile forms on her face. I can swear that I see beli signs appear in her chocolate brown eyes. " Fine, but if you give me any reason to doubt the trust I'm putting in you or failed to deliver my money, then our Alliance is done, I'm I clear?"
"Clear as Crystal!"
" Good, "Nami says before quickly leading me towards the entrance to Buggy's bar.
Formed an alliance with Nami Exp gained!
"Halt! State your business with Captain Buggy!" Asks one of the two pirate mooks guarding the door.
"My name is Nami, and I'm turning in the map thief or rather I'm turning in my boss who made me steal the map."
One of the pirate mooks disappears into the bar, he is gone for only a few minutes before he returns." Captain Buggy said to send them up."
"Right!" The other one says, turning back to Nami and I. " Go inside and go up the stairs to your left. Captain Buggy is on the rooftop dining area!"
"Thank boys Nami says with a wink, as I quickly look at the two pirate mooks ' observe' .

So, the average of buggies crew was around 9 meaning I expect buggy and top members to be a few levels higher. As Nami leads me up the stairs I stop her. "He is probably going to chain me up or lock me in a cage. Just let them do it, and wait for my signal. When that happens I want you to mad dash to the person who has the key and unlock me. If Buggy takes the key then just wait for my first mate to arrive."
Nami nods as she turns to the doors to the roof. She kicks them open, and pushes me through them and that is when I hear his voice. High pitched with a ton of rasp," so you're the one that stole my map."
I look up for my position on the ground and immediately use deep observe on Buggy.

Buggy gets a look of shock on his face before letting out his high-pitched raspy laugh. " How amusing, very well. Welcome to the Buggy pirates girl!"
I get thrown in a cage, as Nami immediately starts partying, as I look around using observe on Buggy's various crewmates Most of them or simply just more pirate Mooks varying anywhere from level 8 to 10, but 3 stood out.

Regina was an interesting case, as she wasn't a member of Buggy's crew that I remembered. But her title of the Lioness gave it away. She was Richie the lion, how in this world he had become a pokegirl. Her look pretty much copied Mohji's who I assume was still her owner. The only difference is her hair looks more like that of a lion's and instead of the fur vest it was a fur bikini top. Her chest looks like it's a modest B-cup.

This change was much more of a shocker overall Cabji looks virtually the same. White pants and a blue vest, the only difference being a pair of low C-cups covered by a white bikini top under the vest. Otherwise he looked very much the same despite now being a pokegirl, and him being a slicer meant that he was still very much a Swordsman or rather swordswoman.
As I am observing Buggy's crew he walks up and stands in front of the cage. He lets out a laugh," That is some follower you've got there!"
I simply just remain silent, as buggy stares at me for a moment before speaking again." I get it you don't have to say anything, you're probably mad because your subordinate betrayed you."
Buggy leans down in order to be eye level with me." Even though I got my map back, stealing from me is still a grave mistake. Your fate has already been sealed." As buggy stands up he yells," Men! Prepare the Buggy balls!"
The men quickly produce a cannon, and a cannonball with Buggy's jolly roger on the front. After a quick demonstration of its destructive power, Buggy turns the cannon to me." The destructive power of my special cannonball can wipe out whole towns in a single shot. With this and the power of my devil fruit I can easily assure my future success."
He then looks at Nami, and does exactly what I expected him to do. He asks her to kill me to prove her loyalty to him. She tries to protest and make up excuses, but he is insistent. She walks up to the cannon and stares at it for a second grabbing the lighter.
Buggy lets out another high-pitched laugh as he asks me, "any last words?"
I think for a moment, knowing that anime logic would not let me die here. I decide to mess with Buggy a little bit. "No, I don't really have anything philosophical to say or anything like that. I just want to ask you a simple question, Buggy!"
Buggy raises an eyebrow, "oh really? And what pray tell do you want to ask me?"
"Why are you terrorizing civilians in the East Blue? You could've been so much more and yet you chose to stay in the weakest of the five seas. Why is that?"
"What the hell do you mean?"
" I mean, you were once an apprentice pirate on Gol D Roger's ship. I expect more from a man who was once on the Pirate King's crew."
Everyone lets out a scream of shock at the realization as Buggy goes pale, " how the hell do you know that?"
"I know a lot of things, Buggy. I know about your history with shanks and how he offered you a place in his crew after Roger's death. If only you had taken him up on that offer, you could have been something. Instead you're just a no name pirate with a funny nose"
I added the last part just to tick him off and it worked." What the hell was that crack about my nose! Men kill him!"
One of Buggy's men snatches the lighter from Nami, lights the cannon and aims it at me." Nami Now!"
Nami quickly pivots on her heels, spinning and smacking the guy in the face with her staff. She scrambles to put out the fire, but two mooks go to stop her and just as she is about to get
hit, Zoro shows up with Shimo in tow.
Which reminded me I never actually used observe on Zoro.
I look at Nami as she struggles to put out the fire, I just give her a look and whisper to her." Seriously Nami? You are a water type."
Just looking at Nami I could tell she was mentally hitting herself for forgetting that detail. She quickly creates a small amount of water in her hands and douses the fuse of the cannon. "Hey Zoro! Shimo! Quickly get me out here!"
"What's the hell, is this your idea of fun? First you get carried off by a bird girl and when I finally find you you're in a cage. Idiot!"
As Zoro turns my direction I use deep observe on him.

Roronoa Zoro. Buggy and Zoro exchange words before Zoro slices him to pieces. "Shimo bend the bars and get our captain out of there."
"Right!" Says the rock/water type as she runs over quickly bending the bars, just in time too.
" Zoro, look out behind you!" Zoro turns just in time to reflect the knife coming at his back as I yell," Gomu Gomu no: Pistol!"
My fist makes contact with Buggy's face causing him to flinch. Zoro you take the slicer, Shimo take the other guy and that catgirl. Yo big nose im your opponent!"
"How dare you make fun of my nose!" Buggy yells as he charges at me." Bara Bara no: cannon"
I easily side step the attack as the fist full of daggers flies past my head. Knowing that it would probably launch back at me from behind, I jump. The fist files back at Buggy, but simply separates his body allowing them to miss him.
"Gomu Gomu no: Gatling!" I yell as I start rapidly bringing down my fists onto Buggy. The bar starts to collapse under the force of my fists, as I look up to see buggy using his powers to fly and avoid the impact.
" Bara Bara no: whirlwind!" Buggy as his feet and legs come spitting at me like a saw blade. I try to sidestep the attack but the blades graze my side as they pass by.
"If this is your best then my words still stand. You have become a shell of your former self. Roger would be ashamed of you!"
"Shut up Straw Hat! You're really starting to piss me off!"
"And I care you're just a weakling, who picks on even bigger weaklings."
"Die!" Buggy yells, launching both his fists at me. I grab a piece of the building and use it as a shield to block the knives before throwing them back at him.
The rocks smack him right into his
gut as I follow up with a punch. My fist makes contact with his face. Suddenly just like in Canon, buggy suddenly launches off in a different direction. "Hey don't touch my treasure you bitch!"
I do the same thing that Luffy does in Canon and kick him in the nuts. How unlike the Canon Luffy when he tries to separate after that I quickly use an ability that was seen later in the series. "Gomu Gomu no: Finger Net!"
I grab all the pieces of buggy inside of the net and pull him down. "Nami quickly grab some rope and help me tie the pieces together so he can't reform right."
Nami quickly complies as she yells. " I'll listen to you this time, but I'm not part of your crew so don't give me orders."
I look over to see Zoro and Shimo finishing off their opponents. "You've lost Buggy!"
The only thing we had not managed to tie up was his head and feet. Buggy yells at us to give him back his pieces. I just stare at him, "no! I'm gonna set them adrift in a boat, and when I leave you are free to retrieve them. Take this defeat as a lesson, you will get nowhere as you are now. Picking on weaklings who can't defeat you is no way to prove how strong you are. Leave and never return to this island. I won't hesitate to kill you if I find out you picked on this island or any other in the East Blue. Get off your ass and go to the Grand line. I expect to see you there as a rival."
Defeated Buggy the Clown Exp gained! level up! Level 26!
Naturally I throw all of my stats and strength and then I turn to look at my crewmates, "Nami, Zoro, Shimo let's go!"
We silently walked to the docks, all seven of us, including myself, Nami, Zoro, Shimo, and three sacks of treasure courtesy of Nami. We of course had Buggy's missing pieces with us as well. Nami quickly loads her treasure onto a boat she had come, while I put Buggy's pieces in the other. I untie both boats from the dock."Nami, these are my other crewmates, Zoro and his pokegirl Shimotsuki or Shimo for short."
"Zoro as in pirate hunter Zoro?" Nami asks staring at Zoro
"Yea that's me!" Zoro replies as he turns to me. "Luffy, who is this woman?"
"Her name is Nami, she is our navigator for the time being. I promised to help her defeat someone who wronged her, and until I fulfill that promise she is our navigator. After that it's up to her whether she wants to stay after, well that up to her ."
" It is very nice to meet you Nami-san! Shimo says bowing her head at Nami as she speaks." And sorry to ask Nami-san, but are you a pokegirl?"
"Why would you think that?" Nami replies with her own question.
" Because you smell heavily of salt water. You have either been recently taming a water type or you are one, I suspect the latter is true."
A look of shock forms on Nami's face, before she sighs and puts her head down. She removes her bandana revealing her bright orange ears. " It's true. I'm…. I'm a Saltee! I only try to hide it because I know that most people would take advantage of the fact that I'm a pokegirl. Whenever I have a taming urge I usually just have a one-night stand with somebody, only to steal from them and leave the next morning before they wake up."
She keeps her head down as she speaks, almost as if she is a little bit embarrassed by what she is saying.
"Nami," I say, causing her to look up at me." I don't care what you are! You are still my friend, and I promise you that as long as you are sailing with me I will never take advantage of you. I won't force you into taming with me either. Just make sure you don't go feral while you're on my ship."
Nami nods as she says,"Luffy you are the first person to take such interest in getting to know me, beyond just the fact that I'm a pokegirl. Whether your words are genuine or not remains to be seen. I don't know what it is but something inside me wants me to believe you!"
"Don't worry Nami, you have my word. I will take down Arlong, but that will come in time. We will slowly make our way towards your home, but first I would like to make a stop at the Gecko Islands. A friend of mine comes from those islands."
