Chapter 18: The Exposition and Departures Chapter
Shang Tu Island – Royal Palace, Noon Hours
The Royal Palace of Shang Tu stood majestically against the vibrant sky, the golden sunlight bathing the city below. From the audience chamber's open windows, the Royal Magister gazed out at the tranquil landscape, watching the palace grounds stretched before him and the city of Shang Tu in the distance. His serene expression reflected the peace of the moment, but that calm was soon interrupted by the sounds of a struggle echoing through the hallways.
"Dude, at least release us from this ice! I can't feel my legs!" a voice complained, frustration clear in its tone.
"Legs? I can't feel anything!" another voice chimed in, equally irritated.
There was a knock at the door to the audience chamber, and the Royal Magister gestured for entry. The doors swung open, and to his surprise, General Gong stepped into the room, accompanied by two Shang Mu guards. The guards—a lion with piercing cobalt eyes and a boar with aquamarine ones—were both encased in ice from their feet to their necks, arguing and complaining.
"Ugh! Sorry, Magister, couldn't carry these guys any other way," General Gong explained, his tone a mix of apology and irritation as he set the two frozen guards down in front of the Royal Magister.
"Yes, you could, you fat panda! You could have, uh, I dunno, escorted us like normal prisoners?!" the lion growled, glaring at Gong.
"Yeah! And why you? I wanted the panda chick!" the boar added, scowling in equal irritation.
"Shut it, you two!" Gong snapped, delivering a bonk to each of their heads, the impact causing the two to reel back comically. Their muffled grumbles continued, but at a much quieter level.
The Royal Magister raised an eyebrow at the scene before him, taking in the absurdity of the situation before finally speaking. "I assume Neera apprehended these two near the ruins?"
Gong nodded, his expression shifting to one of seriousness. "Not only that, Your Excellency," he began, kneeling respectfully before the Magister. "These two were directly involved in a full-scale assault." His voice held a mixture of frustration and weariness as he continued. "They commandeered a bullet train they called the Egg-Bullet and breached the ancient temple near Relic Island. Their intent was clear: they were headed straight for the Kingdom Stone's resting place. It was only thanks to Neera, myself, and a group of unexpected youngsters that we managed to derail the train. Unfortunately, the effort caused the collapse of the cave's entrance." Gong bowed his head apologetically. "The damage was... extensive."
The Magister took a deep breath, absorbing the news in silence. He turned his gaze toward the window for a brief moment. When he finally spoke, his voice was calm and understanding. "It is fortunate that you managed to stop them in their tracks," he said, the hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he congratulated Gong. "You and your team did well."
Gong blinked in surprise, not expecting the praise. He bowed his head lower with gratitude. "I… thank you, Your Excellency, I—"
Before he could continue, the boar prisoner snorted loudly, a smug tone in his voice. "Yeah, well, the other guy that the Robotnik guy hired totally stole the Kingdom Stone while we were on the train." The boar's voice dripped with pride. "He was already inside the cave and probably heading to Shang Mu right now, so... suck it, blues!" He paused for a moment, his face contorting slightly in confusion as he muttered, "Wait, that didn't feel right…"
The room fell into an icy silence.
The Royal Magister, Gong, and even the lion prisoner all stared at the boar in shock, their eyes wide with disbelief.
The lion's eye twitched with barely contained fury. "Lavernius, YOU IDIOT! We weren't supposed to say that!" His voice was a hiss of barely suppressed rage, his body shaking despite being trapped in ice.
Vern blinked in confusion, his snout scrunching up. "Huh?" He looked genuinely perplexed, oblivious to the bombshell he had just dropped.
Gong rubbed his temples, muttering under his breath with an exasperated sigh. "So, they were a distraction. Well... that saves us the interrogation, I guess."
The Royal Magister's face remained impassive, but there was a flicker of concern in his eyes as he turned to look out the window once more, hands clasped behind his back. After a long, tense pause, he spoke again, his voice measured but grave. "This is troubling. Zao may be a fool, but I never imagined he would go this far…and that name, Robotnik, it does not bod well."
He turned back to face Gong, who was now standing at attention, a grim look of readiness on his face. "Tell me, General, who were these young individuals involved in the defense?" The question hung in the air, the Royal Magister's gaze steady as he waited for Gong's response.
Relic Mountain – Outside the Remains of the Egg-Bullet
Tails cleared his throat. "Their full names are Bean Dynamite, Bark the Polar Bear, and Fang the Hunter… I think?" he explained, glancing over his cup.
Down at the mountain skirt, where the blocked entrance to the Kingdom Stone chamber lay hidden beneath rubble and dust, the aftermath of the Egg-Bullet crash was still unfolding. Shang Tu soldiers moved quickly through the wreckage, supervised by Neera Li. They worked diligently, clearing debris, assessing the damage, and securing the area. Amidst the controlled chaos, a grizzly bear slept soundly on a pile of rubble while a frustrated red panda yelled at him, trying—unsuccessfully—to rouse him up.
Nearby, the group sat around a makeshift camp set up beside the Tornado. Exhaustion hung heavy in the air. Sonic, clearly drained from their recent fight and escape, nibbled at his sandwich with little enthusiasm. Torque, Lilac, Carol, and Milla tended to each other's wounds, while Tails sat at another small table, taking a sip from his hot drink.
Neera, who was sitting beside Tails, taking notes, raised an eyebrow, her pen hovering over the notepad. "You think?" she asked, her tone sharp but curious.
Tails nodded, setting his drink down. "Yeah, Fang's known to change his name and identity pretty often. The first time we ran into him, he was calling himself Nack the Weasel."
Neera let out a quiet, frustrated sigh. "Of course, because making things simple would be too much to ask..." She clicked her pen once before writing it down. "The Hooligans." Her eyes flicked up at Tails again.
Tails confirmed with a nod. "Pretty much, the three make up the Hooligans. They're mercenaries, guns for hire… although Fang is the only one who uses one."
As Neera continued her note-taking, the group began to relax, though the weight of recent events still hung heavily in the air. Sonic winced slightly as he applied a red-and-gold flower petal to a gash on his side, feeling its immediate, soothing effect. The healing process was almost miraculous.
"These red petals sure are handy," Sonic remarked, examining the petals. "They're healing me faster than I thought."
"They're called Life Flowers," Lilac explained, glancing over with a small smile. "They grow all over Avalice and have incredible healing properties. We use their petals for wounds and injuries." She applied a few more petals to her own wounds. "Scientists are still studying them, trying to figure out their true origins."
Sonic gave a low whistle, clearly impressed. "I could use these back in my travels."
Carol set down her food and asked, "So, those guys work for Eggman?"
Sonic nodded, his expression shifting slightly. "Yeah, Eggman's hired them more than a few times. They're basically mercenaries for him. Although the last time we saw them it was only Fang causing trouble over at the Northstar Islands. Looks like he's gotten the band back together."
Torque adjusted his goggles as he sat back, grimacing slightly. "They're not exactly pleasant company."
"You don't say," Sonic muttered, shaking his head. His frown deepened as he thought about the strange partnership they had encountered. "And now we've got Spade mentioning Robotnik and Zao in the same sentence." His eyes narrowed, the confusion evident on his face.
Torque leaned forward with nervousness. "You're right. Does that mean they're working together?"
Sonic let out a frustrated sigh, scratching his head. "I don't know, man. Robotnik's never done something like this before. He usually works solo when it comes to these kinds of plans… him teaming up with someone is brand new to me."
As the conversation shifted toward the potential alliances and what that could mean, Milla sat quietly off to the side, fiddling with her hands. Her earlier excitement was replaced with nervousness. She felt out of place among the group, unsure of how to contribute to the discussion.
Lilac noticed her fidgeting and turned toward her with a kind smile. "Hey, Milla, right?" she asked gently.
Milla yelped in surprise, her large ears twitching as she quickly nodded. "Y-yes?"
"You don't need to be nervous," Lilac said reassuringly. "We're all friends here." Her tone was soft and encouraging, trying to put the puppy at ease.
"S-sorry," Milla stammered, lowering her gaze.
Sonic gave her a reassuring grin. "Don't be sorry, kid. If it wasn't for you, I'd probably still be buried under all that rubble." He gave a quick thumbs-up, trying to lift her spirits.
Milla's ears perked up slightly as she returned a shy smile. "I've never met this many people all at once," she admitted, glancing around at the soldiers and the unfamiliar faces surrounding her. It was overwhelming but exciting at the same time.
Carol, still chewing her sandwich, raised an eyebrow at the newcomer. "So, what were you doing here in the first place anyway?" she asked between bites.
Milla's eyes brightened, and her tail began wagging again as she eagerly started to explain. "Oh! Well, I was over here, then I was over there, and then a scary-looking train appeared, and then I followed it, and then I followed the plane, and then those three meanies tried to steal my wishing star, and then the mountain went Boom! And then I fell into a cave, and then I got out of the cave, and now we're all here!" She finished her explanation with a wide, innocent smile, her hands gesturing wildly.
The group collectively sweat-dropped at the retelling, trying to piece it together in their heads. Carol caught onto a key part of Milla's explanation and leaned forward. "Wait— 'wishing star'? What do you mean by that?"
Milla nodded enthusiastically, digging into her back pocket. "Uh-huh! Those meanies tried to steal this from me!" With a triumphant look, she pulled out a glowing yellow gemstone and placed it on the table for all to see.
Everyone leaned forward, their eyes widening as they took in the sight of the gem. It gleamed with an otherworldly light, casting a soft glow across the table. Torque and the girls stared in awe, their jaws dropping.
Torque breathed out, his voice barely above a whisper. "That's… that's the gem from earlier…" His mind raced back to their encounter with the Hooligans.
Sonic nearly choked on his drink, his eyes widening in shock. "A Chaos Emerald?!" he exclaimed, his voice cracking with surprise. He stared at the gem in disbelief. "Oh man, I completely forgot about them!"
The rest of the group stared at him in confusion, their expressions ranging from curious to baffled. "Chaos Emerald?" they echoed in unison, unfamiliar with the term.
Tails, overhearing from his seat, gasped as the realization hit him. "I nearly forgot too!" He rushed over, his face alight with recognition. Meanwhile, Neera raised an eyebrow, her expression turning thoughtful as she eyed the gem.
"This looks… quite similar to the one the Magister has," Neera muttered to herself, glancing at Sonic and waiting for an explanation.
Sonic readjusted his position, setting down his drink as he turned to face the group, his expression unusually serious. "Alright, guys, it looks like we haven't told you enough about what's going on. But if the Chaos Emeralds are involved…" He glanced at the gem again, then at his friends. "I don't think Avalice is the only place in danger here."
The weight of his words hung in the air as the group exchanged uneasy glances. The gravity of the situation was sinking in fast, and they knew things were about to get much more complicated.
Shang Mu Island – Shang Mu City Hall, Noon Hours
At another part of the Archipelago, on another island.
The sun had begun its slow descent over Shang Mu Island, casting a warm, golden glow over the bustling city below. Neon lights flickered to life as the citizens of Shang Mu went about their daily routines.
High in the sky, the Marvelous Queen descended toward the grand structure of the City Hall, its yellow walls and striking red roof visible even from a distance. The imposing yellow stairs led to a large, ornate red door that marked the seat of power for the island, where its flamboyant and influential mayor resided.
As the Marvelous Queen touched down gently on the rooftop, Doctor Robotnik was already waiting. His scowl deepened with impatience, arms crossed tightly over his chest. Oddly enough, he wasn't wearing his usual red and black outfit with a yellow cape. Instead, he was dressed in a white bathrobe, his feet adorned with flip-flops, and a towel draped around his neck. He tapped his foot impatiently, clearly having been interrupted from a post-shower moment.
The Hooligans disembarked from their vehicle. Fang hopped down with swagger, spinning his trusty gun casually before holstering it. Bean twirled a bomb on his finger, while Bark loomed behind them silently, checking his scarf for any damage.
"Well?" Robotnik's voice was sharp and demanding, his eyes narrowed as he looked at the trio.
Fang, unfazed by the doctor's tone, flashed a sly grin. "No Chaos Emeralds this time, Doc," he lied with smooth confidence. He quickly raised his hand before Robotnik could explode in anger. "But we got something better." Fang turned to the Marvelous Queen, reaching inside one of the compartments.
The others watched as he retrieved the Kingdom Stone, its blue glow illuminating the rooftop. Robotnik's eyes widened slightly as he took in the sight of the powerful artifact. He grasped the stone, feeling the energy radiating from it.
"So… this is the Kingdom Stone, hmm?" Robotnik muttered, examining it closely. His tone was more curious than impressed, though there was a certain appreciation in his gaze. "Well, I can see why it's so coveted. This thing is brimming with energy." He gave a quick glance back to the Hooligans, his previous irritation creeping back into his voice. "But this is not what I instructed you to retrieve. I specifically said the Emeralds. This task was meant for another party."
Fang shrugged, leaning against his vehicle. "Sorry, Doc, but your other party was a no-show." He jerked a thumb over his shoulder toward Spade, who was sitting uncomfortably, groaning as he tried to free himself from the rope that had been used to haul him along.
"I had it in my hands, dammit…" Spade muttered under his breath, his voice full of frustration as he fumbled with the knots. His eyes darted between the others, clearly embarrassed. "I had it…"
"You didn't look like you had much of anything when we found you knocked out cold," Bean chirped cheerfully, tossing the bomb from hand to hand. Bark nodded in agreement, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth.
"Shut up!" Spade snapped, his face burning with irritation as he finally freed himself from the ropes. "You should have minded your own business!"
"Whatever you say, panda," Fang shot back, rolling his eyes before turning his attention back to Robotnik. "So, what's the next move, big man?"
Robotnik sighed deeply, having little patience for the bickering, but it wasn't the first time he'd had to deal with these three. "I'm going to assume that you encountered Sonic and his new friends," he said, his voice dripping with annoyance. Fang grimaced slightly before reluctantly nodding. Robotnik's frown deepened. "Of course… No matter, you three are lagging behind. Metal Sonic has already acquired two Chaos Emeralds, while you've managed to get zero."
Fang's expression soured at the jab, but he said nothing. Bean, meanwhile, made a face at the mention of Metal Sonic, clearly not fond of the robot. Bark simply crossed his arms, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"You three will continue your actual task," Robotnik continued, pacing slightly. "Search for the rest of the Chaos Emeralds. I expect better results from you." His tone was filled with condescension as he eyed them.
Fang scowled but nodded, knowing there was no point in arguing. "Fine. We'll get it done."
As the Hooligans grumbled amongst themselves, Robotnik's attention shifted to Spade, his eyes narrowing. "And you," he said, his voice growing darker, "will assist me with a more delicate plan regarding our dear mayor."
Spade's eyes flashed with a mixture of exhaustion and renewed purpose at the mention of the mayor. He stood up straighter, fists clenched. "Finally," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. "It's been days of waiting since the accident. He will pay."
Robotnik's face twisted into a grin. Walking over to Spade, he placed a hand on his shoulder in a gesture that seemed almost paternal. "In time, Spadey boy, in time. The man responsible for your father's death will get what's coming to him." His grin widened as he motioned for the Hooligans to leave. "Now get out there and find those Emeralds!"
Fang, clearly done with the conversation, scoffed and gestured for his crew to follow. "Come on, mooks, let's get outta here," he said, climbing back into the Marvelous Queen with a flick of his wrist. Bean and Bark followed behind, each taking their places in their sidecars.
As the vehicle began to lift off, Bean waved cheerfully from his seat, waving a scrap of cloth. Bark remained silent, his expression unreadable, as the vehicle rose higher into the air.
"Try not to screw up your revenge or whatever, panda," Fang called down mockingly before the Marvelous Queen ascended, disappearing into the sky.
Spade shot a final glare at the departing trio, fists tightening at his sides. He had no patience for that jerboa's taunts.
"Come, come!" Robotnik said, leading Spade back toward the doors of City Hall. His arm draped around Spade's shoulders in what was clearly an attempt at camaraderie. "You need your rest for tomorrow. Big day ahead."
Spade shrugged off the arm but didn't say anything. He was too tired to complain, his mind solely focused on his ultimate goal.
"Just you wait, Mayor Zao…" Spade muttered under his breath, his voice full of malice. "Just you wait."
As they entered the grand building, the heavy red doors of City Hall's rooftop closed ominously behind them, leaving only the promise of what was to come.
Relic Mountain – Outside the Remains of the Egg-Bullet
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the group gathered around Sonic, their faces reflecting a mix of disbelief and concern. Sonic had just finished explaining the full situation regarding the Chaos Emeralds, his normally carefree demeanor replaced by one of grim seriousness.
"Okay, okay, okay, so let me get this straight…" Carol began, rubbing her head as she tried to process everything. "There are seven colored gemstones called Chaos Emeralds, which doesn't make sense, by the way—emeralds are green—" she muttered, clearly still grappling with the logic. "And they can grant the user unimaginable power if all of them are reunited." She paused for a quick breath, then continued. "And if Eggy gets ahold of them, he could control not just the Archipelago, but the whole world." She threw her hands up in exasperation. "Did I get all of it?"
Before anyone could respond, Milla piped up, "You can turn yellow?" she asked, tilting her head, her wide eyes filled with curiosity.
Ignoring the comment, Sonic nodded, his expression remaining serious. "Yup, that's the gist of it."
Tails stepped forward, a look of guilt flashing across his face. "We originally came here because we thought Robotnik was just after the Kingdom Stone. Turns out we were wrong. He's after both—the stone and the Chaos Emeralds." He hesitated before adding, "Sorry for not telling you guys sooner."
Lilac, her voice soft but understanding, was the first to respond. "It's alright, Tails. You couldn't have known. But that means Robotnik has the Kingdom Stone now," Lilac continued, standing up with a newfound determination in her eyes. "And he's still searching for the Chaos Emeralds. We can't let him get them."
Everyone gave a collective nod in agreement. Sonic smirked, admiring Lilac's sudden resolve. However, their brief moment was interrupted by the sharp voice of Neera.
"You are correct," Neera said, having finished her notes. She stood tall, her eyes narrowing as she addressed the group. "But by 'we,' you mean the Shang Tu police force. This is a matter for trained professionals. You six are to stay out of it."
The declaration stunned the group, leaving them momentarily speechless.
Lilac, still standing, was the first to recover. "But Lady Neera—" she began, her tone urgent, only to be swiftly cut off.
"No buts," Neera said firmly, her icy gaze fixed on Lilac. "This is not a job for children."
Sonic stepped forward with a smirk. "Uhh, Ice Queen?" he began, crossing his arms. "I've saved the world multiple times. And I know these Emeralds better than anyone here. Doesn't that count for something?"
Neera's eyes narrowed even further. "As far as I know, those could just be stories," she replied coldly. "The police will handle the search for the Chaos Emeralds and retrieve the Kingdom Stone from Shang Mu. You six will stay out of it."
Tails tried to reason with her, his face filled with urgency. "But we can help! If you just let us—"
"Don't make me repeat myself!" Neera snapped, cutting him off mid-sentence. "I said—"
But before she could finish, the loud hum of an engine filled the air. The group turned as soldiers pointed upwards, watching as a yellow aircraft descended nearby. The yellow plane landed gracefully, revealing General Gong and a blue bird guard as they stepped out onto the field.
Neera looked at them both, clearly irritated. "General, what's the meaning of this? You should be interrogating those Shang Mu soldiers."
"The Magister sent me," Gong explained, his eyes scanning the area. His gaze fell on the group, then the Tornado, before looking back to Neera. "The Kingdom Stone?" he asked.
Neera shook her head, confirming his worst fears. "It's gone," she said, her voice tense.
Gong sighed deeply. "Well, here's the thing..." He gestured toward the group of six. What followed was a long conversation between Neera and Gong, their voices barely audible from the distance, but the group could tell from Neera's expression that things weren't going smoothly.
As the conversation stretched on, Neera's frustration became more evident, her sharp voice rising as she yelled, "Why would the Magister suggest that?!" Her glare was intense, aimed at Gong.
Gong raised his hands defensively, sweat forming on his forehead. "D-don't look at me! He asked about the kids, and I told him everything! It was all the Magister's idea, I swear!"
Neera pinched the bridge of her nose, closing her eyes as she tried to regain her composure. "I swear, he sometimes..." She exhaled slowly before turning back to the group, her gaze stern. "I suppose I don't have to repeat what's been decided."
Sonic grinned, walking up with a swagger. "No need, Ice Queen!" He motioned for the others to follow as he summarized the conversation. "We're the 'neutral party' that gets to take care of the situation with Mayor Zao, try to convince him to hand back the stone, and stop Eggman from whatever he's planning."
"And as a bonus," Sonic continued, a cocky smile forming on his face, "we kick his sorry butt back to where he came from."
Neera gave him a hard stare, unamused. "A crude way of summarizing it, but yes," she said with reluctance. "Your mission is to discover the intentions of this 'Doctor Robotnik' and resolve the conflict peacefully," she emphasized, her glare pointed directly at Sonic. "You six are to avoid combat if possible."
"No problem, but don't take it for granted!" Sonic replied with a thumbs-up. "Tails and I will take the Tornado." Tails nodded in agreement. Sonic then looked at the others. "You guys can fly the yellow plane, right?"
Torque stepped up, his eyes serious. "I know how to pilot it. I'll make sure we get there safely."
"Wait, we're going now?" Carol asked in disbelief, her exhaustion evident.
"You got it, Greenie," Sonic said with a grin. "We can't let them keep the stone for much longer."
Lilac stood tall, clenching her fists with determination. "Let's go!"
Carol groaned but nodded, rubbing her eyes. "Ugh… I guess."
Milla hesitated, her eyes shifting between the group and the yellow plane. She bit her lip before shyly asking, "C-can I really come with you guys?"
Tails smiled warmly at her, stepping closer. "Of course! We'd love to have you. Right, guys?"
"Absolutely!" Sonic said, giving Milla a playful thumbs-up. "One more in the crew won't hurt, and we've gotta make sure your wishing star stays safe!"
"I'm okay with it," Torque added, smiling at the dog as he climbed into the yellow plane.
Carol gave a shrug, leaning against the plane's side. "You did save my buddy Sonic, so yeah, sure."
Lilac looked at Milla, who stared back at her with hopeful, wide eyes. With a gentle smile, Lilac winked at her. "Welcome aboard, Milla."
For a moment, Milla stood frozen, processing the kindness she had just received. She hadn't just made one friend today—she had made five! Her face lit up in pure joy. "Yay! To adventure!" she exclaimed, hopping eagerly onto the plane. Her excitement was infectious, lifting the spirits of everyone around her.
As the planes prepared to take off, the energy of the group shifted from exhaustion to eager anticipation. Soon, both the yellow and red planes roared to life, engines humming as they soared into the air, heading east toward Shang Mu. Soldiers below waved them off as the aircraft became specks in the orange sky, disappearing into the distance.
Gong stood beside Neera, watching them leave. "Hope they're safe," he muttered, concern etching into his voice. He glanced at Neera, noticing her narrowed eyes. "Something wrong?" he asked, curiosity evident.
Neera's expression was thoughtful, her voice low. "Something doesn't smell right…"
Gong blinked. "Probably Dexter over there," he pointed toward the grizzly bear still snoring loudly as the red panda struggled to push him along.
Neera shook her head, ignoring the joke. "No, he never smells right, neither do you. But the kids. They're hiding something."
Gong's eyes widened slightly. "Don't tell me you're going to investigate them?"
"Not all of them," Neera clarified, her voice cold. "But the two who always come by—Lilac and Carol. Something felt off about them when they mentioned the Red Scarves. And I'm going to find out what."
Before Gong could reply, Neera let out a yawn, quickly covering her mouth with a blush of embarrassment. "…After a night's rest at the palace," she muttered, her face still flushed as she hurried off, clearly irritated by her own fatigue.
Gong watched her go, scratching his head in confusion. "Quack!" the blue bird guard beside him chirped, breaking the awkward silence.
"Yeah… you're probably right," Gong sighed, following Neera back toward the cleanup site, the guards resuming their work as the day drew to a close.
High in the Sky – En Route to Shang Mu
Meanwhile, high in the sky, the two planes soared through the clouds, heading toward Shang Mu. Milla, leaning out from the yellow plane's side, waved excitedly down at the ground below.
"Bye, Mister Stumpy! I'll be back with my friends after our adventure, promise!" she called out, her voice filled with joy and excitement.
The group exchanged confused glances, their voices echoing as they asked in unison, "Who?"
Down below, sitting quietly in the clearing, Mister Stumpy—Milla's handmade friend—stared up at the sky, his drawn-on eyes full of unreadable pride for her, proud that she had made her first true friends. The wind rustled through the grass, signaling the start of a new chapter in Milla's life.
And as always, Mister Stumpy said nothing.
{Post A/N}
Dog acquired, whew, cant believe that it took this long for Milla to join, but I needed to set up some stuff for the future and yes, Spade will be more relevant than in the original game XD.
