GDA Hospital: One day after the fight at Machine Head Tower

Garrett Green slowly opened his eyes before squinting them, the bright hospital lights hurting them slightly.

However they snapped open as his mind flashed back to what happened to his Team mates at the tower before he tried sitting up shouting, "Amanda, Samson! Urrrghahhh!" he suddenly fell back down and shouted in pain as his stomach was still recovering from Battle Beast stabbing him.

Garrett suddenly heard his room door open as Eve came rushing in and hugged his upper body saying, "Oh thank god! Garrett your awake!"

Garrett confused looked around noticing he was in a hospital room, he then looked at his Girlfriend who pulled back and was smiling but had tears streaming down her face.

He tried to speak but his throat was suddenly very dry as he tried saying, "Ammm, amaaammm."

Eve realizing the problem, quickly grabbed a glass of water with a straw and placed it at Garrett's lips.

He took a few sips before coughing slightly, Eve was by his side before he looked at her saying, "Amanda and Samson. Are they alright?"

Eve had wide yes before she started crying again making Garrett think the worst as he said, "Fuck! I need to see them!" he tried to move but Eve stopped him placing a hand on his chest saying, "Stop, they're ok. They were treated just in time. I'm just happy you're awake now. We're waiting for them to wake up just like you."

Garrett immediately relaxed and stared at the ceiling trying to focus his thoughts while Eve said, "You're Amazing and stupid, you know that?"

Garrett looked at her asking, "What do you mean?"

Eve looked at him seriously before saying, "The moment you wake up after almost dying, the first thing on your mind is not if you yourself are ok, but if someone else is hurt. And you're stupid for making me worry like this when you could have talked to me."

Garrett's eyes widened realizing Eve was right and he glanced down ashamed saying, "Your right, I'm sorry. I… I thought I could trust my friend, but after everything I've been through, everything I've learned. I should've known that everyone has some hidden agenda."

He looked at Eve seriously and said, "Samson once asked me, why am I a hero? I didn't have an answer at the time but now I do."

Eve listened not wanting to interrupt as Garrett said, "I'm a hero, so no one will ever be hurt by those who think they're better, I'm a hero so Monsters won't exist in this world, and I'm a hero so loved ones don't have to cry hearing that their family is gone."

He gained a tear in his eye while looking at Eve as he said, "Like I made you cry. And I swear, I will live by those words and never make you cry again."

Eve could only smile hearing the genuine truth in Garrett's words as she hugged him saying, "Just don't go running off on your own again, idiot."

Garrett hugged her back with his good arm saying, "I won't."

Eve was about to kiss him but Debbie came rushing in saying, "Oh thank god, he's awake!" Debbie then shouted into the hall, "Nurse! Come quick!" making the couple smile at each other before a nurse came rushing in to check on Garrett.

About an hour later, Garrett had his cast on his arm removed and was laying on a table with a scanner going over him.

The doctors were watching the scans intently before all their eyes widened like saucers.

After a couple more minutes the lead Doctor came up to Garrett who sat up on the table as the doctor said stunned, "I don't know how to explain this but all of your broken bones have been healed and your concussion is gone, your organs are also recovering at an astonishing rate. If your healing keeps up like this, you should be discharged in a day or two."

Garrett nodded saying, "Thanks for the information."

The doctor curious asked, "You're not surprised at this?"

Garrett shook his head while a nurse brought him a wheelchair, as he sat down he said, "I've been told I'm a fast healer." and with that the nurse wheeled him out and back to his room.

Once they were gone, the doctor spoke to the others in the observation room saying, "Contact Cecil and let him know of the results."

The other doctors nodded and got to work as the lead doctor stared at the machine Garrett was just under thinking, "What kind of healing factor allows someone to heal from life and death injuries in only a matter of days?"

In another wing of the Hospital, Cecil was walking down a hallway and saw Monster Girl and Black Samson recovering before saying, "God dammit." And continued to his destination.

He passed two camouflaged armed guards before placing his badge on a random wall. A blue light suddenly scanned it before a panel slid open revealing a handprint and eye scanner. He placed his hand on the scanner as well as his eye before another blue light flashed and a robotic voice said, "Welcome director Cecil, access Granted."

The wall opened revealing a hidden elevator which Cecil entered. He pressed the only button on the wall before the doors closed and he started going downwards.

After a few minutes the doors opened revealing an empty spacious white room.

Cecil suddenly shouted out, "Lights!" and the room immediately came to life. Gone was the white empty space, now it was filled scientists, advanced weaponry never seen before, blueprints for vehicles and technology not on the market, and many other classified items.

Cecil passed rows of scientists and different projects before coming to a lab and going inside.

Once inside, he saw more scientists shooting a laser at a small lab dish of blood before asking, "Well, What have you got for me? You guys have almost been at it for 48 hours."

The team turned the laser off while the lead scientist walked to Cecil and frustratingly said, "We've got nothing, zilch, nada!"

Cecil's eyes widened saying, "What the fuck are you talking about?"

The doctor not caring for rank at the moment replied, "Exactly what I said Cecil, we have tried, radiation, poison, tetanus, cancer, and even aging! We thought we had breakthrough with fire or heat but had to scrap that idea once we realized the power output was reaching the level of the sun."

"You said you tried aging, what were the results?" Cecil asked remembering Garrett's mother file.

The Doctor sighed frustrated and said, "I don't know what you're not getting but here." He typed away at a random computer and pulled up a video of the test they did.

Cecil watched as the doctor explained saying, "The blood itself changes slightly with age. Normal aging causes a reduction in total body water. As part of this, there is less fluid in the bloodstream, soblood volume decreases. The speed with which red blood cells are produced in response to stress or illness is reduced. But with Unbreakable it's the exact opposite, the older he gets the younger and stronger his cells become."

Cecil stepped away from the monitor and looked at the small dish of blood labeled, 'Unbreakable' in worry.

Cecil was realizing now, that his supposed saving Grace was actually a devil in disguise. With this information confirming that not only will Unbreakable keep getting stronger, but it also meant his mother's disease didn't affect him and that he will keep growing stronger indefinitely unless someone is able to actually kill him.

But after seeing the fight at Machine Head Tower, the list of people who can do that was growing very short.

Cecil spoke up saying, "keep trying, we need to find something that can slow this kid down if it comes down to do it."

The scientist just yelled aggravated but still got to work unable to go against his stubborn boss.

Cecil left the room and sighed before thinking to himself, "I hope my worries are unwarranted but I'm sorry, kid. I can't afford to take any risks especially with Nolan running around right now."

Cecil's Gaze hardened at the thought of the hero turned murderer, having confirmed Nolan was the killer of the Guardians and was planning against him accordingly.

Cecil got back into boss mode and went to his next task teleporting away.

A few days later…

Donald Ferguson was currently standing outside a wooden door debating even if he should be there at the moment.

However, as Father and a husband. It didn't feel right to him for the GDA to hold the information he had in his hand from the individual he came to see.

Steeling himself, Donald knocked on the door, adjusting the file grasped in his hand.

The door opened revealing Garrett Green who was on sick leave, he was still slightly bruised but otherwise fine. as he said, "Donald? What are doing here?"

Donald stood outside Garrett's apartment and asked, "Can I come inside? I have information I wish to discuss with you."

Garrett nodded stepping aside saying, "Sure."

Donald walked in saying, "Thank you." Before walking to the couch and sitting down. Garrett sat on the bed opposite him as Donald placed the file on the coffee table.

Donald took a breath and looked at Garret making the hero realize this conversation was serious.

Donald spoke up saying, "What I'm about to tell you cannot leave this room, understand?"

Garrett leaned forward and said, "yes, sir."

Donald nodded and opened the file making Garrett's eyes widen seeing his mother's picture.

Donald spoke again, saying, "It's about your mother. I feel you have the right to know, especially after almost dying, that she wasn't entirely human."

Garrett stood up shocked saying, "What are you talking about!"

Donald motioned for him to sit again as he continued, "We found out, Leah was actually a Meta-Human, who could learn anything she did at an accelerated rate. Which is also why your own growth has been so fast."

Garrett was taking all this in like a kid being thrown in a deep pool, having a hard time comprehending it. But then Donald said, "Another thing you should know is that your mothers powers is what also caused her illness."

Garrett snapped up at that information asking, "How?"

Donald replied, "They made the cells in her body age a rapid pace causing her condition. I'm telling you this incase the worse should happen and you're diagnosed as well."

Donald stood up grabbing the file after that saying, "As I said, this information doesn't leave this room." Donald made to leave but before he did he turned to Unbreakable and said, "Another reason I told you this, As a father, I know the lengths a parent would go for their child and I will not dishonor your mother's memory by keeping this from you." With that said Donald left as a tear fell from Garrett's eye and he whispered, "Thank you." Now, having a clear reason on why his mother died.

It was the next day, and Garrett was back in school. He was currently eating lunch with William and Mark was nowhere to be found.

Garrett was glancing at apartment listings on his phone while the two ate, having gotten sick of his shitty apartment and having saved up a decent amount from his hero work, he decided to find a better place and make the big move of asking Eve if she wanted to move in together.

Also, after he calmed down yesterday, he thought back on what Donald had said making him realize something important.

Since his mother was apparently a Meta who could learn extremely fast, it explained everything that had been going with him, his fast power growth, his good grades, and his Healing Factor.

With Anissa explaining to him about Viltrumites and their physiology, he realized he was immune to his mother's disease because of his Viltrumite DNA which was repairing the cells faster than they could age.

As he was pondering all this William had been speaking to him saying, "Garrett, Garrett, Hey Garrett!" William shouted at his friend, causing him to snap to attention saying, "Huh?"

William sighed saying, "Geez, man. You know it's rude to zone out when someone's talking to you right?"

Garrett put his phone down saying, "Sorry, Will. What going on?"

William answered him saying, "I asked you, do you remember that guy Rick I met last year before he graduated?"

Garrett nodded saying, "yeah, you wouldn't stop talking about him for weeks."

William smiled saying, "Well, guess what. He invited me to come to Upstate University for a new student fair this weekend. Two days of being in Rick's arms, aww heaven." William hugged himself daydreaming of his old boyfriend.

However the university name clicked in Garrett's head as he pulled the brochure given to him saying, "Wait, is it this university?"

William looked at the brochure saying, "Yeah, how'd you know? Were you planning on going too?"

Garrett looked at the paper and figured since he was still on sick leave from the guardians and with Amanda and Samson still recovering, he was thinking it might be good idea to see the school.

He looked at William saying, "I was planning to go in the future, but would you mind if a bummed a ride? I can get my own room so I'm not a third wheel."

William waved him off saying, "Sure, no problem. And you wouldn't be-"

Garrett looked at his friend dryly and said, "William."

William chuckled and said, "Ok, fine. Maybe your own room is a good idea."

The two laughed and continued enjoying their lunch while hoping Mark was doing ok.

Art Rosenbaum's tailor shop

Art was currently in his shop drinking a glass of bourbon, he downed the full glass in one gulp cringing as the burning liquor went down.

Art had just found out with Debbie Grayson what Nolan had done almost more than five months ago to the guardians and he was still trying to process it.

However, he suddenly heard a loud bang come from his shops secret entrance.

Art growled annoyed and drunkenly shouted, "W-We're closed!"

But Art jumped out of his seat, when the four inch thick titanium door was ripped off its hinges and came crashing down to his shops floor. Then a second later, Omni-Man came flying in.

"You know Art, its rude not to answer the door for your best customer." Omni-man said to the scared tailor, floating with his arms crossed in his iconic costume.

Art quickly put on a metaphorical mask saying, "Nolan, it's good to see you. Sorry, if I'd known it was you, I would've been right up."

Nolan waved off the tailor saying, "its fine, I just came for a new rush order."

Art realizing Omni-Man wasn't there to kill him, relaxed before saying, "Of course. Any design you have in mind? And how fast do you need it?"

Another voice suddenly spoke up causing Art to look at the shop entrance again, but was stunned at what he saw.

Mark was floating downwards before stopping in front of the tailor. Now that Art could see Mark fully, he noticed the young hero in training looked different.

Gone was the fit body of an Olympic runner he once had, now stood a brick shithouse of a man the boy having grown two sizes in just pure muscle, also the boys eyes no longer held that youthful innocence and optimism, now all Art saw was pure anger.

Art still thrown off by the now swole Mark, said, "Hey, Invincible. So what can I do for ya?"

Mark just answered with, "I need a new suit. And I need it yesterday."

Art hearing the boy's tone swallowed nervously, and replied, "You got it." Before he got to work sketching while he thinking, "Jesus, what happened to you, Mark?"

The day before Garrett was going to the college with William, he stopped by Anissa' and his training ground for their daily session, but one thing he noticed is that after he got hurt.

Anissa had seemed to go a little easier on him and making sure he was ok more often.

Now, he didn't hate the change. It was just not something he was used to from the tough woman.

He touched down as usual followed by her shortly after, she quickly walked up to him, and began checking on his injuries, a new habit she had devloped.

She insisted on the checkups after he told her Battle Beast was the one who put him in the hospital.

When she heard this, her expression became horrified and she explained the Monster of a warrior's reputation.

Apparently, Battle Beast was one of the strongest beings in the universe and a known Viltrumite hunter. And the fact he not only survived his encounter but gained the warriors respect was also apparently a huge deal.

She finished her checkup saying, "Well, you're pretty much all healed. Which is insane, considering I've never seen a Viltrumite heal this fast."

Garrett thought back to his talk with Donald, though he promised the man he wouldn't tell anyone, Anissa had been such a great help to him all this time and he felt he owed her somewhat.

So, Garrett spoke up saying, "Well, Actually. I know the reason behind it."

Anissa nodded for him to explain as he said, "Apparently, my mom wasn't human after all, and she had abilities that allowed her to learn at an accelerated rate."

Anissa was shocked but asked, "Shouldn't that only affect your mental capacity? Not strength and healing?"

Garrett shook his head as he remembered the file having memorized it immediately. "It affected everything she learned it didn't matter what it was, it had something to do with her cells. But the fact is, is that I can get stronger, faster, and even smarter twice as quickly as the most seasoned Viltrumite."

Garrett paused noticing Anissa was silent, after a second, he took that as a cue to go on as he said, "But I also found out, that my mother's powers is what also made her sick. But I'm completely immune to it due to my Viltrumite half. Meaning, I can keep growing stronger and stronger unless someone can kill me, but considering how things are going right now, that's more than likely, not gonna happen."

Anissa was stunned to the core by this info. If what Garrett said is correct, then given enough time, he could be stronger than all of the Viltrum Empire!

Garrett turned his back to her and looked at the sky as he said, "For years, I wondered How my mother died, feeling I could have done more. But now I feel a weight has been lifted."

Anissa listened to Garrett her heart beginning to beat fast at his passionate words.

Garrett continued on saying, "even with that weight lifted and set goal in mind, I think I'm still a little lost at the moment, but I know with you as my guide and mentor, as well as everyone else by my side, I can make it down the path of a hero, no question."

Anissa hearing this felt her heart slam against his chest before she slowly walked behind Garrett.

Garrett who was getting ready to ask Anissa about going to the college, suddenly felt her hug him from behind.

Garrett blushed saying, "Umm, Anissa. I thought we talked about this?"

Anissa hugged him tighter saying, "Shut up and let me have this, and I'll grant you a request."

Garrett just shut up as ordered and let Anissa hug him while wondering what was going on with his trainer lately.

As Anissa Hugged him, she thought to herself, "If he is meant to be stronger than all of us." She snuggled her head into his neck making Garrett go red as a tomato as she finished her thought with a smile, "Then I think I can live with that."

Garrett meanwhile nervously thought, "I hope's she's done soon, this is getting awkward."

That weekend after clearing it with Cecil and Anissa, Garrett was outside his apartment building with William waiting in his car, a simple Honda Civic.

Eve was kissing Garrett goodbye since she was leaving overseas to South America and would be gone when he got back.

As she pulled away she said, "Give me a call when you arrive, ok."

Garrett kissed her again and said, "And same goes for you."

Suddenly William honked his horn saying, "Come on, you love birds! You're not the only ones trying to get some loving!"

Garrett chuckled at his friend and kissed Eve one last time saying, "I'll call you later."

Eve just waved goodbye as Garrett got in Williams car.

As the hero buckled up a thought came to mind as he said, "Now, that I think about it, William, I've never seen you DRIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!" Garrett's question became a scream of terror as William peeled out from the side of the street like a drag racer, narrowly missing an oncoming truck.

The truck driver Honked at William shouting, "ASSHOLE!" while William kept driving like he stole his own car.

Eve watched this nervously thinking, "Maybe he should have flown?" Before heading to the airport with her things.

Debbie Grayson pulled into her driveway and got out of her car looking exhausted, having spent all this time at the GDA and Visiting Art the tailor.

After checking on Garrett and seeing him discharged, she went to see Art and found out horrible news.

After finding her husbands destroyed costume from the night of the Attack, she had his super-suit tailor look it over.

They both came to the horrible conclusion that her husband was a murderer.

She unlocked her front door hoping to take a nap and calm down but was shocked to see rubble all over the floor, the t.v destroyed, and there were two holes in her roof.

Debbie looked at all this saying, "What-What the hell?"

However she jumped when multiple soldiers appeared and Cecil teleporting in saying, "Debbie, you need to come with us."

Debbie confused shouted, "I'm not going anywhere Cecil, until you tell me what's going on!"

Cecil sighed saying, "its Nolan and Mark, Debbie. We can't find them."

Debbie's eyes widened saying, "What?"

"Our drones lost contact with them a few days ago, that's why we're here. For your safety and to find out if you know where they are." Cecil stated to the confused spouse and mother.

Debbie shook her head saying, "No, I haven't been home in a while."

Cecil frowned at that info, not liking it before saying, "Still, you'd better come with us. I don't know what Nolan is capable of at this point."

Debbie horrified replied, "Because he killed the guardians."

Cecil looked at Debbie saying, "You were always a smart one, Debbie. But we need to go, now."

Debbie nodded as she quickly grabbed some essentials and left with Cecil to track down her Husband and son.

Meanwhile, Garrett and William had just arrived at the college and were parking.

William had been gushing about Rick the whole car ride as he said, "Oh, did I mention Ricks teeth, they're like stars mmmhmm."

While Garrett was wide eyed, breathing heavy and had a death grip on his seatbelt. He slowly glanced at his friend thinking, "Where the fuck did you learn how to drive? Grand Theft Auto!?" but outwardly he said, "Cool, William, glad your excited."

Willian suddenly jumped up in his seat saying, "Oh my god, there he is!" as he quickly got of the car and met with Rick.

Rick, was about 6 feet tall, he head neatly combed red hair, he was very fit having muscle where it counted, he wore a yellow polo t-shirt, black skinny jeans, and Nike sneakers.

Rick hugged William saying, "William, it's so good to see you."

He pulled away and saw Garrett saying, "Hey, Garrett, William said you were coming, but I am surprised Mark isn't with you guy's. You three were joined at the hip last I checked."

Garrett looked down saying, "He's going through some things."

Rick nodded in understanding and dropped the matter saying, "I get it. But hey, let me get you're guy's bags and I'll give you a tour, Sound good?"

Rick then grabbed the bags by himself and began carrying them to the dorms.

Garrett tried to stop him, since he was going to get a motel, but William held his hand up to stop Garrett.

Garrett looked and saw William was ogling Rick's ass and muscles as he walked carrying the bags before saying, "Let me have this. It's gonna be a great weekend."

Garrett just groaned and covered his eyes with one hand annoyed at his friend but happy for him all the same.

After solving the room issue, which was Garrett could stay in Rick's roommate's room since he was gone for the weekend. The three were walking around campus heading to the biology department as Rick said, "This is one of the best med schools in the country, and we get a lot of funding from big investors, like Cheston Pharmaceuticals. The funding helps student better their education as well as fund worthy projects."

Garrett curious asked, "Isn't Cheston Pharmaceuticals under investigation for hedge-funding?"

Rick chuckled nervously at that saying, "Well, like I said, they aren't our only investors. Anyway I arranged for a biology class sit-in." Rick turned to William asking, "William, you're still pre-med right?"

William could only nod he was so smitten with Rick at the moment making Garrett chuckle.

As the three made their way into the lecture hall, Garrett stopped as he noticed a bulletin board with some missing person posters on it.

Normally, he would have ignored it. But after doing hero work, and being a guardian for so long, his instincts were kicking in as he stared intently at the posters.

Rick tapped his shoulder asking, "What's wrong?" Rick saw the posters and gained a sad tone saying, "Yeah, a few people have gone missing the last month or so. We're still looking for them."

Garrett seriously asked, "How many are missing?"

Rick not sure why Garrett wanted details said, "Um, I'd say about a dozen I think?"

Garrett looked at Rick shocked and said, "And there isn't a big investigation happening? Over 12 people are missing with no leads on where they are!?"

Rick shushed Garrett saying, "I know. Like you said earlier, one of the schools Investors in under investigation. So, the school can't handle any worse PR right now, or it might get closed down."

Garrett calmed down and remembered he wasn't here for work, he was technically still on bed rest.

He looked at Rick saying, "Sorry, Things like this just freak me out."

Rick nodded saying, "I get. Come on. Let's go hear this lecture."

Rick then led them inside where the three sat down and listened to the professor.

The Professor had a power point going of the human body as he spoke saying, "It may look the same from the outside, but the chance of heart failure doubles with each decade of life. But what can we do about that? Diet, sure. Exercise, that helps. Drugs? hmmm, not so sure. But fundamentally our parts wear out, our focus therefore is on extending the quality of life, even if we can't extend life itself."

Suddenly a nasally and obnoxious voice spoke up from the row next to Garrett's group saying, "Oh, please."

Garrett turned seeing a pale skinny man, he was just a few feet short of being six foot, he had straight, greasy, shoulder length black hair, a big nose, and he wore a grey leisure suit complete with bowtie and oxford shoes.

The professor addressed the rude student saying, "Ah, Mr. Sinclair. Do you have another one of your opinions to share?"

Sinclair leaned in his chair like the whole conversation was beneath him before righting himself saying, "I have the truth to share."

Garrett glared at Sinclair saying, "Who's the dickhead?"

Rick's friendly tone was gone as he said angrily, "DA, Sinclair. He's here on a genius grant, and makes sure everyone knows it."

Sinclair stood and began speaking to the class as if he was the professor saying, "When you want to travel quickly, you don't run, you get in a car. When you need to fly to another country, you don't flap your arms like some imbecile, you get on a plane."

The Professor not amused replied, "We all know how travel works, Mr. Sinclair. Your point?"

Sinclair began getting aggravated as he said, "All human failings are simply engineering challenges crying out to be solved. We're machines! The sooner we recognize that-"

Garrett hearing enough of the rude man said, "The sooner you'll stop talking?"

Sinclair turned to Garrett saying, "I'm sorry?"

Garrett stood up saying, "I'm not, and you are being a rude and arrogant asshole in front of a professor trying to teach his class. I don't know about you, but I value education. So, kindly, just shut the fuck up."

Sinclair grit his teeth and marched over to Garrett saying, "Who do you think you are, you stupid brute! I have more intelligence than any one of these professors has in my foot!"

Garrett coolly replied, "Oh, so your brain is in your feet. That makes sense why you sound so stupid then. My mistake."

The whole class erupted in laughter even the professor cracked a smile making Sinclair fume.

Damn, I feel like it's been forever since I was able to talk smack to somebody." Thought a happy Garrett

Sinclair growled out, "How dare you! I was asked to go to Harvard, Oxford, I turned them all down because-"

Garrett cut him off again saying, "Then go there if they want you, because apparently no one wants you here."

Sinclair again growled and said, "You son of a-"

The professor having enough shouted, "MR. SINCLAIR! I'm sorry but if this is how you're going to act in my class, then I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

Sinclair scoffed and said, "Fine, this whole lesson is useless drivel anyway."

Sinclair then left the hall after that with Garrett saying, "Dickhead."

A little while later the three had stopped for lunch after seeing the other parts of the school.

Rick looked at Garrett asking, "So, what do you think of the School?"

Garrett swallowed his food and answered, "Like everyone says, the academic programs look great, but I'm not sure if I'm going to college, yet"

William choked on his drink making Rick pat his back before he said, "What? Ever since I've known you, all you've talked about is getting into a good college like your mom did. What happened to change that?"

Garrett realized he said too much and stumbled with his words saying "ummmm, well."

However, before he could answer the ground started to rumble causing Rick to stand up worried as he said, "Is it an Earthquake?"

But Rick got his answer as a mechanical claw busted out from the ground near a sewage drain, before a whole mechanical monster came forth.

The cyborg had machine parts on his upper and lower body, leaving only his stomach and head as human, his arms were long and ended in sharp pincers, he had robotic legs that ended in sharp points with bladed gripers, and on his head was a silver helmet with a single giant red, robot eye constantly moving around.

The students and faculty members began to scatter as the Cyborg began jumping around and attacking anything that moved.

Garrett was about to rip off his shirt and reveal his costume he had worn in case of emergencies, but remembered William and Rick were right there.

Garrett noticed the cyborg was about to attack a female student, so he quickly pointed behind Rick and William shouting, "Guys look out! A second one!"

William panicked and said, "Where!" as he and Rick turned away.

But it was all Garrett needed as he dove at the cyborg, quickly revealing his costume while the crowd was distracted and putting on his mask, not knowing William had turned around back in time to see Garrett put his mask on.

Unbreakable just made it to the girl as he punched the cyborg away. He grabbed the girl and dashed to a building as he said, "Get out of here!"

The girl obeyed and ran while Unbreakable went after the cyborg who found a different target.

As the cyborg was gonna attack a hot dog vendor, but Garrett kicked the cyborg in the chin before grabbing the hot dog stand saying, "So, you're hungry huh?" Unbreakable then slammed the Kart on the cyborg repeatedly as he said, "Then eat up, big boy!"

However, the cyborg used his robot legs to drop kick Unbreakable, the hit actually launching him backwards into a wall.

Unbreakable coughed and said, "What- What the hell?" Unbreakable saw the cyborg get up, and part of his helmet was smashed revealing a panicked blue eye constantly looking around.

Unbreakable saw this and thought, "Wait, what's going on? Is that a person?" His eyes widened as he dashed at the cyborg again grabbing his arms to hold him still saying, "can you understand me!" he asked hoping his theory was wrong.

The monster just growled unable to speak, before raising both its legs to dropkick Unbreakable again, the cyborgs robotics allowing it to remain balanced and learn that attack could stun the hero.

Unbreakable rolled on the ground before coming to a stop with a groan but with something glinting in his hand.

The cyborg reached up, feeling his bare face. The cyborg looked around in a panic and saw a water fountain with a Viking statue holding a spear before he jumped into to the water and looked down.

Garrett stood, holding the helmet he was able to grab before being kicked and watched with sad a look under his mask as he said, "I knew it."

Doug Cheston, one of the missing person's looked at his disfigured face and body in the water shaking his head no.

Doug looked at Unbreakable before he looked at the spear on the statue. Unbreakable realizing what he was going to do said, "No, wait!"

But it was too late as Doug jumped into air and pierced his chest then heart with the spear dying instantly.

Unbreakable fell to his knees and punched the ground making a small crater as he said, "Damn it."

However, Unbreakable suddenly heard Williams voice saying, "oh my god, oh my god, Oh my god."

Garrett stood as his friend ran up to him pointing at him saying, "Garre-"the hero quickly covered his friends mouth harshly whispering, "Shut it William! We'll talk later!"

Garrett quickly took to the sky saying to everyone, "Everyone stay safe, The Guardians are here for you, always." Before Unbreakable took off higher up and disappeared with the crowd cheering and taking photos.

Meanwhile Sinclair watched and recorded the whole thing, He closed his laptop and said, "Damn, that's the last time I leave someone's frontal lobe intact. That was my most successful subject thus far. I may have time for just one more however before moving on elsewhere. But who to choose."

Sinclair made a camera with his hands and posed it over people saying, "No, no, definitely not." But his hands settled on Rick and he smiled sadistically, saying to himself, "yes, Rick, athletic, high intelligence, yes, yes, he should do nicely." Sinclair left the area jotting notes down for his next experiment.

That night Rick, William and Garrett were in the dorm, with William walking around antsy wanting to talk to Garrett about earlier.

The hero noticing this walked to Rick saying, "Hey Rick, think you could go get us some beer? I think today has William really shaken up."

Rick looked at his boyfriend seeing him pacing and twitch every so often before nodding at Garrett saying "sure, no prob. I'll be back in a few."

Garrett pulled out his wallet and handed Rick a fifty saying, "Here, I think we'll need more than a six pack."

Rick again nodded saying, "Right." As he headed out.

Once Rick was gone William pounced saying, "OH MY GOD! YOUR-"

Garrett shushed his friend saying, "Keep it down, inside voice."

William lowered his voice saying, "Your Unbreakable! That's so fucking cool!"

But William paused as a look of realization came over him as he glared at Garrett saying, "And you never told me."

"Duh, it's a secret Identity, dude." Garrett replied

"Yeah, but I'm like one of your best friends! That doesn't count for anything!?"

Garrett sighed and said, "Okay William, let's say I did tell you. You would either be targeted by every enemy known to the guardians who find out about you, or you would get nervous one day and accidently spill the beans anyway."

William frowned and replied, "Hey, I wouldn't spill the beans to anyone."

Garrett looked at his friend dryly and said, "William, you nearly just blurted it out for the whole dorm building to hear."

William kept quiet since his friend had a point, before the two sat on the couch in the room.

William then said, "So, You're Unbreakable."

Garrett just replied, "Yep."

William replied, "So, cool." But after a few seconds William grabbed Garrett's shoulders saying, "Take me flying!"

Garrett looked at his friend asking, "What?"

William said, "I said, take me flying, you owe me after keeping it from me this for long."

Garrett sighed again and said, "Fine, but only for a few minutes. We don't want to draw attention."

William just had a childish grin before Garrett bent down so William could hop on his back.

William did so as the two took to the air from the window with William holding his arms out.

Once they were high in the clouds William shouted with his arms still spread, "I'm King of the World! Whoo hooo!"

Garrett rolled his eyes and said, "I'm not a boat, William."

William just laughed and said, "I've always wanted to say that, let me have it, man!"

Garrett just chuckled before the two heard Williams phone go off.

William tapped Garrett's shoulder saying, "it's Rick, he wants to have a video call, can we land?"

Garrett nodded as they landed in a deserted part of the school where William answered his phone holding the screen up to his face.

Rick came on screen saying, "hey, how you feeling?"

William smiled at Rick's concern and said, "I'm fine. Garrett helped calm me down."

Rick smiled saying, "That's good, I'm glad you have good friend like him. By the way, he gave me some cash for some really goo-"

However, the sounds of something rustling came through as Ricks phone was jostled around before the screen went dark and error message was shown.

Williams eyes widened in fright realizing something was wrong.

He shouted at Garrett saying, "Garrett, something's happened to Rick!"

Garrett hurried over saying, "what happened?"

William showed him the phone making Garrett glare and say, "Do you have find my phone app?" William nodded as he began tracking Rick's phone.

Garrett dashed away for a second before he came back in costume and had William get on his back again before taking off into the air fast saying, "Let's find Rick."

Back in New York, Robot decided to visit his two investments at their hidden warehouse.

Robot looked at the body the mauler twins were growing for him in a large tank filled with green fluid.

Inside the tank was the beginning of a skeletal structure, eyes, and a brain. Robot looked at the clone in progress saying, "Impressive, you do fast work."

One of the twins spoke, the wearing a coat and goggles saying, "Humph, what did you expect? You pay for the best and you get the best. Speaking of which, we don't work for free Robot."

Robot stood calmly and said, "You'll get your payment, rest assured."

The other twin spoke up, this one wearing a simple black and white jumpsuit as he said, "Well, then perhaps something happens to your friend here." The clone tapped the tank and said, "That would be such a waste wouldn't it?"

Robot, spoke calmly but seriously, saying, "You will receive your payment, once your tasks have been completed and no sooner."

The twins knowing they had no real leverage on the guardian scoffed as one said, "Fine, whatever. We'll call you." He snapped his fingers and pointed at the lab coat wearing twin saying, "Give him the file, Clone."

The twin growled and said, "Shut up, I'm the original!" as he went to a table and grabbed a file With Unbreakables information in it and gave it to Robot saying, "You weren't kidding when you said that shit was classified. We had to hack into the GDA Director's computer just to get the right software. Lost three homemade rigs to those damn firewalls getting that together for you."

Robot looked at the file even more interested about his teammate and the security behind his back ground, especially after witnessing what happened at Machine Head Tower.

Robot stuck the file in a compartment on his body and started leaving while saying, "Good work and keep me updated." Then left.

The twins looked at each other with one saying, "This is fucking annoying, I'm getting sick of that tin can ordering us around."

The coat wearing twin smirked and said, "Then how about we make some… contingencies, brother."

The other twin smirked and said, "I like the way you think, clone."

The coat wearing twin shouted, "Damn it! I'm the original!" then the two started a fist fight with each other.

Back with William and Unbreakable, the two were nearing Rick's phone from the app.

William tapped Garrett's shoulder saying, "Down there!" and pointed towards a liquor store.

Unbreakable quickly took them down where they saw Ricks phone on the street next to an open manhole.

William grabbed Ricks Phone seeing it was shattered before shouting down the hole, "RICK!"

Unbreakable stopped him saying, "William stop, if he is down there, then whoever grabbed him is too."

"Are you saying we just leave him, then!" said a tear stricken William.

Unbreakable said, "No, I'm saying you let me do my job and I'll save Rick." Garrett pulled out his phone and pulled up the GDA's number.

"Call this number and tell them I need backup and where you are, they'll send someone out so you're safe And help Rick if he's hurt" Said Garrett as he handed his phone to William.

William scared for his friend said, "But what about you? You're on your own right now."

Garrett replied, "I'm Unbreakable, William, I can handle anything."

Before he flew upwards and dove perfectly through the man hole. While William quickly dialed the number Garrett gave him and did as instructed.

Inside the sewer, Unbreakable held his nose from the smell while talking to himself saying, "Oh, I'm Unbreakable, I can handle anything. You're a dumbass Unbreakable, that's what you are! You promise your girlfriend you're not going to rush off on your own and what do you do? You rush off on your own, fucking Idiot!"

He found a tunnelway but had to walk in sewage making him groan and talk to himself again saying, "Not mention, Unbreakable, you're not even supposed to be working right now! But here you are, walking knee deep in the shit, literally." He groaned again before he suddenly heard a noise at the end of the tunnelway.

He cautiously moved towards the opening and peeked out, he looked left, then right, and then up learning his lesson from months ago.

However he was surprised when a cyborg like the one before suddenly sprung up from the sewage water below growling and grabbing him.

Garrett grabbed the stone walk way nearby shouting, "Oh, hell no!"

But he heard more growls above him as three more cyborgs came crawling from different sewage pipes and jumping at him.

Garrett's eyes widened as he shouted, "What is this, a fucking horror film!"

As the cyborgs crashed on top of him sending him into sewage waters. The cyborgs had no set attack pattern as they were just constantly, slashing, biting, and hitting anything they could in a feral state.

Unbreakable held them off by pushing and grappling with them to avoid getting get hit in vital areas, but it was getting to the point he might have to stop holding back.

He look at the cyborgs, knowing they were once students of the school and the work of some sick freak down in the sewer but also knowing he had no other choice right now he said in his head, "I'm so sorry."

Unbreakable grabbed the nearest cyborg and immediately ripped its head off like it was paper. The other three increased their attacks but Unbreakable just flew upwards in the water breaching the surface and spun around rapidly, becoming a black and red blur throwing the cyborgs into the walls completely smashing their bodies from the force of the hits.

Unbreakable righted himself and looked at the dead cyborgs who were once students and said, "Damn it, when I find who did this…"

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHGGHHHHH!"

Unbreakable suddenly heard a loud scream, coming from further down in the direction he was headed and he flew like a rocket to the sound hoping he wasn't too late.

He was able to find the source of the screams and he nearly vomited at the sight he came upon.

There were body parts thrown all about the room, and there were remains of corpses of people who weren't even on the missing posters.

"Help me! Please!" Garrett turned to the person shouting and saw it was Rick but it appeared the hero hadn't been fast enough.

Rick was strapped to a dirty operating table, his left arm had already been severed from the elbow down, with Metal and loose wires now hanging out the appendage, his intestines were hanging out, with some of his organs were already in dishes.

Garrett also, saw Rick hooked up to a bunch of machines that were the only things keeping him alive at the moment.

But what had Garrett fuming in pure rage, was that Sinclair was the one bent over Rick, wearing a surgery smock and mask, holding a bloody scalpel while being covered in the College students blood.

Sinclair raised an eyebrow at the hero saying, "Oh? You're here sooner than expected. No matter."

The freak show of a man quickly typed away at his laptop next him making Unbreakable charge at him shouting, "You son of a-."

But the hero was tackled away into the sewage water by the remaining missing persons, now turned cyborgs.

Sinclair walked to a drawer and began looking for a tool and spoke to the hero saying, "Have fun with my pet projects."

The doctor still looking for his tool held up a finger saying, "oh, and also I've given them some improvements over the ones you fought in the tunnel. Enjoy." He finished with a sarcastic wave and pulling out a bone saw.

Garrett struggled against the cyborgs, dodging bites and throwing them off without killing them. He flew out of the water with at least four holding onto him and the others climbing the walls like bugs, and jumping at the hero again.

The cyborgs dogpiled him again sending him to the water as he said, "Shit!" the irony of the word not lost on him.

As he fell towards the water he saw Sinclair cutting ricks left pants leg with scissors, getting ready to take that limb next.

As Unbreakable hit the water, fighting off the cyborgs he thought, "Damn it, Cecil! Where the fuck are you!"

Unbeknownst to the struggling hero, one of Cecil's drones was watching the fight from a sewer grate above.

GDA HQ

Cecil was alone in his office, watching the footage from the drone.

They had gotten a call from Unbreakables civilian friend a while ago about what was happening, However, With Nolan and Mark MIA and with Cecil, not knowing what they have planned, he had to keep everything he had on standby should the worse occur.

So, the fact of the matter was, Cecil couldn't afford to send resources for a problem Unbreakable can easily fix himself, even if he didn't like the way he had to do it.

Cecil continued to watch and think to himself, "Sorry, kid. But you're on your own right now."

Sewage Dungeon

Unbreakable was still struggling against the cyborgs and holding back, he was doing this because after what happened with Doug, Unbreakable wanted to at least save everyone else, which why he was hoping Cecil would have shown up by now. So, he didn't have to hurt them!

However, Unbreakable saw Sinclair grab his Bone saw and prepare to cut into Ricks leg who was too weak now to even scream.

Unbreakable realizing what he had to do felt a tear roll down his face as he shouted in pure anger, "GOD DAMN IT!"

Sinclair hearing this looked up from Rick saying, "Would you-." But Sinclair's words died in his throat as the saw he held clattered to floor and he backed away slowly in fear.

"What-What are you!" screamed a terrified Sinclair as he watched Unbreakable begin to decimate his cyborgs like they were toys.

Unbreakable shouted in rage as he grabbed the jaw of a cyborg and ripped it out before slamming it's head into a wall crushing it's skull as he screamed in his head, "IM SORRY!"

A cyborg tried grabbing him from Behind, but the hero grabbed the monsters arms and threw him onto its back, he then slammed his foot on the robot's head, and pulled its arms off like toothpicks, again shouting in his mind, "I'M SORRY!"

He grabbed two Cyborgs heads and smashed them together turning them to paste as he thought, "I"M SORRY, I'M SORRY!"

Over and over again, Unbreakable apologized to poor souls he was being force to kill before finally they were all dead and Sinclair was trying to run.

Unbreakable saw this and flashed in front of the freak show making him collide with the hero and fall onto his ass.

Unbreakable growled at the sadist saying, "Where do you think you're going!"

Sinclair tried crawling away but the hero stomped on the scientists' ankle causing him to scream in agony, "AHHHHHHahaha." Sinclair desperately clawed and his ankle which was now mush and pleaded his case with the hero shouting hysterically, "You don't understand, this is the future of engineering, the evolution of the human race!"

Unbreakable just placed his boot on Sinclair's other ankle and crushed it as well, "AHHHHHHH" Sinclair screamed while Unbreakables red lenses made him look demonic as he spoke saying, "You like to play god? You like taking people apart like their toys?"

Sinclair was becoming terrified but still answered, "It was for science!"

Unbreakable knew he shouldn't be doing this right now and getting Rick to a doctor, but he was so angry and full of rage, all he could think about, was causing Sinclair the utmost pain imaginable.

Unbreakable just grabbed the scientists hand making Sinclair shout, "Wait, don'-"But Unbreakable crushed the mad doctors hand, effectively ruining his medical career.

Sinclair screamed in agony and despair shouting, "My hand! What have you done?"

Unbreakable just coldly replied, "That was for Doug Cheston."

Unbreakable grabbed Sinclair's other hand making the scientists eyes widen before Unbreakable crushed it as well, "AHHHHHHHHH, Please stop!" The scientist pleaded

Unbreakable ignored the plea and just coldly replied, "That was for Gregory smith,"

Unbreakable reached for Sinclair's forearm crushing it and saying, "Amelia Myers."

Ahhhgh!" Sinclair screamed with wide eyes as he realized the hero was going to slowly break his body for every one of his test subjects he experimented on.

Unbreakable just kept breaking limbs and calling out the names of the students he memorized on the posters with Sinclair screaming the whole time.

When Garrett got to number 12 almost all of Sinclair's limbs had been turned into mush as he picked the broken man up by his coat.

Sinclair just groaned in agony, weakly saying, "Ttt-there, that's twelve, now let me go."

Unbreakable just said, "No, you have one more you forgot about."

Sinclair eyes wide in fear weakly cried, "What?"

But Unbreakable just let go of Sinclair's coat before backhanding the freak with his fist completely removing Sinclair's jaw from its hinges, the man's skin being the only reason it was still in his mouth.

"That's for Rick." Unbreakable finished as Sinclair gagged unable to speak or move on the floor. He looked up at Unbreakable bearing down on him and slamming his foot unto his head.

The broken man looked at the hero as if he was monster while the hero said, "I never thought I would enjoy killing someone as much as I'm going to enjoy killing you."

Sinclair could only cry and soil himself waiting for the end, but luckily his end never came as the hero was suddenly surround by dozens of rifles pointed all over his body.

Cecil suddenly teleported in saying, "Unbreakable, Stand down, we'll take it from here."

Unbreakable hearing Cecil's voice growled in anger as he turned around and marched towards his boss, giving the guns no mind.

The hero ripped his mask off showing a bloodied mouth and cuts on his face as he shouted, "Where the fuck were you!"

Cecil frowned and waved his men off who were about to act as he said, "First of all, I thought I told you to watch that tone of yours, and second, you handled things just fine didn't you?"

Garrett couldn't believe this man's attitude, as he angrily said, 'That's not the point Cecil, William called you guys hours ago! We could have saved these people!" Unbreakable waved at the cyborgs he was forced to kill.

Cecil frowned and said, "Unbreakable, you and I both know that is wishful thinking."

Unbreakable spoke up saying, "But the GDA-"

Cecil cut him off saying, "Can't bring someone back from being a Vegetable, Unbreakable. Use that big brain of yours, you know these people were too far gone for any real help, if anything, you gave them a mercy killing."

Unbreakable looked at all the death surrounding him and replied, "Then why do I feel like I failed?"

Cecil, placed a hand on the hero's shoulder saying, "its part of the job, kid. You never really feel like you've won the war."

Cecil saw his men bring Unbreakables civilian friend to see Rick before they took him to the hospital. He spoke again motioning at Rick and saying, "And you didn't fail, you at least saved one life today."

Garrett looked and saw William talking to Rick as William saw what was done to his boyfriend and held his good hand saying, "Oh my god, Rick, what happened?"

Rick smiled at William and weakly said, "Unbreakable… saved… me…" before he passed out from the medication the medics gave him.

One of them spoke to William saying, "Please we need to move him now, if he's going to make it."

William quickly moved as the medics rushed Rick to a doctor while another team was carefully putting Sinclair on an anti-gravity stretcher due to his severe injuries that Unbreakable caused.

Unbreakable spat out blood in the freaks direction and asked, "What are you going to do with him?"

Cecil walked to workbench where parts were scattered as he said, "Just like the movies, kid. Lock him up and throw away the key."

Cecil held up one the helmets the cyborgs wore saying, "Hmm, interesting tech though, pretty advanced for something made in a sewer."

Unbreakable not liking how Cecil was looking at the helmet, snatched it and smashed it into pieces against the wall, growling out, "Sick, is what is, nothing more and nothing less."

Garrett walked away and put on his mask but Cecil stopped him a second by saying, "Take an extra day off, you could use the rest kid, you've been put through the ringer in the past week."

Unbreakable didn't look at Cecil as he just nodded and went to get William.

Later, after stopping for Unbreakable to change clothes, the two returned to Rick's dorm where William finally broke down and began sobbing, and Garrett hugged him until he was okay.

Outskirts of New York City, Unknown location: 11:45 pm

Omni-Man was currently outside a rundown warehouse, observing his son's progress.

Ever the since the two took off, Omni-Man had pushing Mark to his limits.

To increase his strength, he had Mark fly to the bottom of the ocean and lift mountain sized boulders, the pressure of the water combined with the extremely heavy weightlifting, helped increase his strength rapidly, then he had Mark fly out into space as far as he could go in one breath before returning taking a breath and repeating the action, increasing his lung capacity and how far and fast he could fly. Then lastly, Nolan had been taking Mark to unknown regions of the world, having him fight the worst of the criminal element while also avoiding, Cecil's drones.

So, after all of that, Nolan felt it was time they returned. Since Mark was just about ready take on Conquest's son Cecil drones were longer a concern at this point anyway.

Omni-Man was broken from his musings after hearing screams and explosions coming the ware house in front of him.

One criminal came crashing out a window and landed in a heap, showing the criminals were animal-human, Meta's. As the criminal on the ground was a half-man-half-rhino.

Another giant explosion went off engulfing the building in flames as the two large metal doors were kicked away like toys, and a silhouette was walking through the flames inside.

After a few seconds, Mark came walking out the building unscathed wearing his new suit Art made him.

The design was like before but with key differences, The colors were changed, as where the blue used to be was now black, and where the yellow used to be there was now a dark blue, the lower part of his mask had a retractable metal battle mask, since Nolan noticed that if someone got close to mark, they could figure out his identity, so the two added the battle mask for when Mark was in combat.

Invincible was dragging six criminals behind him, he had them tied up with metal and held them up in front of Omni-Man.

One of the criminals screamed, "Fuck, you Omni-Man and your pussy of a kid! He doesn't have the balls!"

Omni-Man glanced at Mark saying, "Invincible?"

The hero in training just replied, "Understood."

The criminal who spoke, said, "Huh?"

Before Mark lifted the criminals and slammed them all together turning them into a pile of limbs and blood.

Mark dropped the remains as Omni-man said, "Good, your no longer hesitating. I think you're ready, now."

Mark looked at his fist saying, "Perfect."

But suddenly they heard a noise from some rubble making them turn towards it, as a man-Bat criminal took to the air like a jet, trying to run away from the two monsters.

Omni-Man pointed at the Man-Bat saying, "op, you missed one."

Invincible simply replied, "I'll get him."

And took off after the Man-Bat in the sky.

Shrinking Rae was smiling and feeling sexy, as she walked down one of the club districts of New York, excited to wear her new clubbing outfit.

She had her ponytail undone letting her hair flow freely, she kept her glasses on since contacts didn't work for her, she was wearing a green, lace up mini dress that showed off her d-cup chest, green lace sandals, and a matching strapped handbag.

She was on her way to go clubbing, with some girlfriends from her old team and celebrate her current teammate's recovery from the hospital.

Samson had apparently woken up and was discharged earlier that day, and Amanda woke up soon after but they still had to run some tests before she could be released as well.

But as Rae was nearing her destination a loud screech came from above her.

In the sky, the man-bat was panicking and looking around the area thinking, "Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck! Gotta find a hostage to get away! I thought Invincible was supposed to be a giant pussy, but he's not, he's a fucking monster!"

The Man-bat kept searching for a hostage before he saw his prey and gave a fanged smirk saying, "That'll do." And dove at a woman wearing a green Dress while screeching.

Rae saw the Man-Bat coming for her and quickly ran into a sprint, and ducking into an alley way hoping to lose the criminal.

Now, normally, she would have shrinked and gotten away already, but the problem with shrinking powers, you need special tailored clothes that could shrink and grow with you. And Rae's current outfit, didn't have that option.

Rae hid behind a wall thinking, "I am not going to run around naked, because of this asshole."

Sadly, Rae didn't Hide well enough as a raspy voice said, "Found you!" and she was quickly grabbed by her shoulders and taken into the air.

Rae struggled shouting, "Asshole, I swear if I see snaps shots of my underwear because of you!"

The man-bat growled at her shouting, "Be quiet bitch! your my ticket out of here!"

Rae continued to struggle unable to break free from the strong animal hybrid, and thought in despair, "No one's coming to save me are they?"

But it seemed she was wrong as she suddenly felt the monsters grip disappear and she now was being held against something warm but solid

She looked and her eyes widened seeing a muscular hero she didn't know wearing a black and blue outfit, Black goggles, and a metal battle mask holding her protectively with one arm against himself while holding the Man-Bat's throat with the other.

Mark glanced at Rae and asked, "You alright?"

Rae face turned red after seeing who saved her and replied, "Umm, yeah."

He took another glance seeing her outfit saying, "Nice dress."

Rae face became red in embarrassment as she said, "Oh, uh, some friends invited me out clubbing, it's not like I'm-"

But Mark cut her off saying, "Hey, you don't need to explain, yourself, you look good."

Rae face turned so red she thought steam would come out her ears as the man-bat suddenly spoke saying, "Are you two seriously flirting, while I'm being choc-Urk" the man-bat gurgled as Mark increased his grip saying in a gruff tone, "Quiet, others are talking."

Making Rae scream in her head, "HE"S SO COOL!"

Mark looked at Rae again saying, "Where can I drop you off?"

Rae flustered pointed at the nearby street which Invincible took her to setting her down outside the alleyway.

Once he set her down Rae began fidgeting, feeling flustered still, before she asked her savior, "Hey, I know we just met, but do you think I could ask you your name?"

Mark, still holding the man-bat, said with a blank look, "Invincible." And took to the sky out of sight.

Rae tried to stop him holding her hand out saying, "WAIT!" but it was too late and Mark was gone.

She looked down disappointed as she said to herself, "I meant your real name."

But she suddenly jumped as her phone rang and she hurriedly answered. Hearing her friend on the end she said, "I know. I'm late, look, listen, you're not going to believe what I have to tell you." As Rae walked off to the club she had been heading to.
