She handed the white datapad to her sister with her right hand while reading a black one with her left.
Her sister seemed unhappy. She looked like she wanted to pout.
"Black, can you at least look at me when you deliver your report? If you can't look up from your datapad you should have sent your Pearl"
"I apologize, White" She looked apologetic. "I am just excited for this newborn planet. I have never witnessed the actual creation of a planet and now I have the opportunity to see this one's development"
White sighed. "Are you serious about going to a planet full of melted rock and acid?"
"Yes. Pearl predicted the planet will be fit for a colony in the foreseeable future." She seemed thoughtful for a moment. "Perhaps as a future colony for our sister who hasn't been born yet?" Black said while she smiled.
White Diamond knew that there was no way to convince Black Diamond to stop her incursion. That was her job, her purpose, her call. To find and document suitable planets for colonization. She looked down at the white datapad she received. A list of planets, with their coordinates and characteristics were there. All of them capable of sustaining a medium colony. If Black was excited about that new planet, it would be extraordinary.
"Just… don't be away for too long, Black. Blue hates when you are away."
"I will try to come back as soon as possible. Blue might be sad but Yellow… Yellow would bubble me and never let me go." She feigned a shudder.
"And she would be in the right to do it. Seriously, Black, why can't you just send your gems to do the documentation?" She could not understand why Black being the Diamond she was, she preferred to dirty herself instead of sending her subordinates.
"It is not the same, White. On the datapad there are just words. I have to see it, I have to feel it." She walked away from White and White sighed.
She never returned. And Pink Diamond never filled the void she left. No one ever mentioned Black Diamond again. But the other Diamonds knew that letting Pink go to any uncolonized planet alone was a big mistake. They were afraid of the unknown that caused the Black Diamond disappear
