Hi everyone

Holy shit it's been 4 years since the last chapter... I'm so sorry to anyone who's been waiting for this long. I promise you this isn't abandoned.

I still intend to stick to my promise to finish this fanfic, no matter how long it might take me. I. Will. Finish. This.

As always, I hope you enjoy this chapter.

The dead-plant digimon stared the warriors down with an unsettling smile on her face. But just who was this? Arbormon said she was an ally? But she also destroyed him…

"Who is this lady?" BurningGreymon wondered. Are they friend or foe? Were they gonna have to fight them?

The possible opponent giggled. "The name is Sayumon, and I am the Legendary Warrior of plant."

Rosalie, still held in her sister's arms, shook her head. 'No… No, you're not.'

"Well, that explains the outfit." the warrior of flame remarked.

Vibramon whipped her head towards him with a glare. "Is now really the time to comment on that?"

Whatever comment he was gonna respond with was lost to Sayumon's giggling. "I must say, I'm impressed. You've taken out two of my allies already." They didn't comment on the fact she actually took out one of them herself. "But now I'm curious." A bunch of the vines that made up her hair slid down her arms and detached from her head. "Just how strong are you really? Mind showing me?"

She swung her arm and launched all the sharp vines that crawled down her arms at the warriors. They tore through the air with enough power to tear a trail in the earth. The group managed to avoid the vines, though in doing so the vines destroyed the tree behind them, making Sayumon grit her teeth. How dare they dodge and make her destroy a precious tree?! They'll pay…

The warrior children looked at the destruction in shock. All she did was swing some vines at them, and it caused that much destruction?

Zephyrmon shuddered. "I have a bad feeling about this."

Sayumon started giggling again, seeing their shocked faces. It made the beast in Takuya growl. Was she mocking them?

"Come on, there's only one of her!" he growled to his teammates. Sayumon just laughed harder. "If we defeated Grumblemon and Petaldramon, then laughing girl over there should be a piece of cake." He flew over to her, readying himself to attack. "Remember, we're Legendary Warriors!"

MetalKabuterimon and Zephyrmon followed the leader and got ready to cover BurningGreymon.

The others stayed back though, too on edge about their opponent to blindly rush in to attack. Especially JagerLowemon. Everything about Sayumon set him off. He sensed more corrupt darkness in her than he'd ever felt in a single digimon. It was unnerving.

While the others observed the fight and stood ready to protect their digimon companions and powerless warrior, MetalKabuterimon launched his bolo thunder attack at Sayumon. It landed just in front of her, causing a smokescreen to cover BurningGreymon's approach. As he was about to grab her, Sayumon disappeared. BurningGreymon stared at his claw in confusion. Where did she go? She was there a second ago.

Green powdery stuff started raining down in front of him, causing him to look up. There Sayumon was, fluttering her wings at a speed that made them almost invisible. Just what was that supposed to do, huh?

The answer came in the form of a tree sprouting from the ground at an unusual angle, hitting him in the chest and launching him out of the smokescreen and onto the hard ground. His chest and back ached fiercely. Zephyrmon dropped her attack to check on their downed teammate, as did the others. When the boy answered their calls by groaning in pain, they grew concerned. Just how strong was this evil warrior?

As if summoned by their thoughts, Sayumon drifted back to the ground. "How disappointing… I thought you'd be tougher than that." she mocked the flame digimon. "It'd be easier to surrender now, while you still have the chance."

"You can give us that chance, but we won't take it." MetalKabuterimon shot down her 'generous offer'.

Sayumon's unnerving smile grew. "Oh well. Your mistake."

It was time to put Lobomon's plan in action. While BurningGreymon had gone into the offense, the others had observed. With JagerLowemon's ability to sense Sayumon's corrupt darkness and Vibramon's ability to hear her every movement they figured out one thing. Sayumon was fast. Like crazy fast. And now that he knew she could hit hard enough to knock down one of their bulkiest warriors, they might have to prioritize speed to avoid attacks, rather than bulk to tank hits.

As such, Lobomon made JP, Tommy and Koichi switch to their Human Spirits. When they were ready, they all charged. Lobomon pulled out one of his light swords, hoping to do some damage with his lobo kendo. Sayumon countered it with a similar attack as before. Another vine crawled from her head to her arm, but this time it hardened into a make-shift sword. While Lobomon pushed Sayumon back a bit, her vine-sword held strong against his light sword.

"Oh~ You actually pushed me back a little." Sayumon giggled. "But even you must know you can't defeat me this easily."

Lobomon grit his teeth. Still though, he had her in place, time for back-up. "A little help here, guys?"

In came the rest of them, attacks ready to hit.

"PLASMA PAWS!"

"THUNDER FIST!"

"FROZEN TUNDRA!"

"SHADOW METEOR!"

"VOICE OF THE BEAST!"

A huge explosion of power hit. Lobomon almost lost his balance when he felt his sword pushing against nothing all of a sudden. But when they looked after the flash of lightning, Sayumon wasn't there. He'd expected her to maybe be pushed back, but instead she disappeared!

Lobomon scanned his surroundings. "Where'd she go?"

Vibramon's ears twitched as she heard movement. "Up there!" she pointed.

Everyone turned in time to see Sayumon charging up an attack. "REAPING LEAFS!" Her wings started beating again, but this time sharp leafs were shot at them. They dodged in time, but the attack destroyed the ground they had been standing a second ago.

"How dull…" Sayumon yawned. "Is that really the best you can do?"

"Hey!" came the weak protest from BurningGreymon. "We're just getting warmed up." He was still in pain from the tree that hit him, but he was a Legendary Warrior! He wasn't gonna give up that easily! "Don't take us too lightly, you big flower-head. You want power? I'll show you power!" He charged up all his strength to unleash his strongest attack. "WILDFIRE TSUNAMI!"

The flaming tornado surrounded the plant digimon. BurningGreymon looked at it proudly. There was no way that didn't hurt her. She's as good as done!

"Takuya! Get out of there!" Lobomon called as he came running with the others right behind him.

He was confused though. Why did they need to run? So he asked. "Why? I just defeated her!"

Lobomon could swear his eye twitched after hearing that overconfident oaf. "All of us combined weren't able to defeat her, and you think you did it by yourself?!"

Well yeah? She's a plant, his element is fire. Fire burns plants to a crisp. There's no way Sayumon wasn't doing the same. Lobomon disagreed though, urging even harder to run, so he did. Still, there's no way Sayumon got out of that unharmed. It's just not possible!

When they were far enough from Sayumon, they de-Spirit evolved to look for a safe place to rest. The walk would be a lot more peaceful if Takuya could stop talking about how he 'obviously defeated Sayumon' for five minutes!

But unfortunately that was not the case. "I can't believe an attack that powerful wouldn't do something serious to her. You know?" He was met with silence. "Fine!" Don't talk to him then, see if he cares.

"Do you guys hear something that sounds like someone talking?" JP asked the others.

Koji shook his head. "Not me." he replied. "But if I did hear that, I'd say it was getting pretty annoying."

Everyone else was looking away uncomfortably. Sure Takuya was being annoying, but couldn't they just talk instead of complain?

"Very funny, guys!" Takuya grumbled, glaring at the back of Koji's head. "You can play your little game all you want, but I'm telling you that lady's toast! There's just no way she could stand there and take that fire attack of mine!"

That cocky attitude made Koji scoff. "Yeah, right! Were you at some other fight?" he asked the goggle-head. "She took all our attacks and barely even flinched!"

"Ah, so you can hear me now, huh?" Takuya asked the lone-wolf mockingly. "Well, then riddle me this, smart guy. How can you be so sure about what happened after you made us run away?"

Sophia jumped in before Koji could answer. "Because I heard her set up her plants to tank the attack, maybe?" she told him. "Not to mention, she was giggling when the fire hit her! Giggling! She thought it was funny!"

Zoe did have her doubts though. "Do you really think she's alive?"

"There's no doubt about it at all." Koji told her. "None of us did any serious damage to her."

Rosalie had to agree. "She's too much in her element here…" she said. "Being surrounded by nature and darkness… It's probably giving her a power boost."

"Why would darkness give her a power boost if she's the warrior of plant?" JP asked the girl.

"Because she's gotten corrupted by it." Rosalie replied. "Cherubimon corrupted her with so much darkness that it might as well act as a second element."

Koichi frowned. Again with the 'darkness is bad' talk. Why do his friends seem so convinced darkness is evil. After all, it's his element and he isn't evil, is he?

"So how are we supposed to beat her?" Tommy asked the others. If she's that strong, was it even possible?

Koji shook his head. "I don't know." He wasn't going to lie to the younger boy. As much as he wanted to reassure him, he couldn't. "We'll find someplace safe to come up with a plan."

"Then we'll never have a plan. There's nowhere safe in this world."

Takuya couldn't stand how the boy he'd come to see as his little brother looked so downtrodden. He glared at the warrior of light. Couldn't he at least pretend things were okay for Tommy's sake? "You know what, Koji? This is all your fault! If you just hadn't been so eager to turn tail and run!"

"Just what are you saying?" Koji was so done with this kid pointing fingers at him and blaming everyone but himself!

"I'm saying that if we'd only stuck around and worked as a team, we might've beaten her!" Takuya told him with way too much confidence for anyone to be comfortable with. Did he forget how he was tossed around by a tree that sprouted out of nowhere within seconds?

Koji hadn't forgotten, that's for sure. "And what do you know about working as a team?"

"Wha-? What do you mean?!" Takuya snapped. How was he not working as a team? MetalKabuterimon gave him cover and Zephyrmon would've had a free shot if he'd managed to grab Sayumon. He was working with them!

"I mean, you didn't look too much like a team player when you went charging in against Sayumon by yourself, did you?!" What was he talking about?! Sure he went into the smokescreen alone, but he had a plan! Surprise attack her and hold her down for the others to have a free shot while she was stunned! "You could have been hurt, Takuya! Or we all could have been!"

"So?"

Whatever else Takuya would have responded with was promptly cut off by Bokomon, declaring it was time to eat. When Takuya tried to protest, Bokomon doubled down, saying they'd need to eat first and discuss all this later like civilized people. Everyone but Takuya seconded it. They'd been getting pretty famished themselves. Besides, anything that could delay another argument between those two was bound to be better than letting them go at it.

After walking a couple more minutes, the gang came across some abandoned ruins. They decided to check it out and see if it was safe enough to stay for a while, which it was. It was completely abandoned, no sight of any digimon. They gathered some sticks and dried leafs to make a campfire and look for something to eat.

Right after JP lit the campfire with some sort of red crystal he found, which according to Bokomon are called fire crystals, Zoe came back with some more kindling. Sophia and Rosalie were not far away, picking up any fire crystals they found, while Zoe and JP talked and kept the fire going.

While they did their tasks, Tommy and Takuya were in the woods, gathering food and planning a new strategy for how to defeat Sayumon. Takuya knew just how to do it too! He just had to convince the others that it was a good plan.

On the other side of the ruins, Koji and Koichi, as well as Bokomon and Neemon were gathering water for everyone. They weren't talking. Koji was still fuming at the thought that Takuya seemed to not care about putting himself and others in danger. Koichi could tell something was bothering his brother, but what could he say? He was still learning to talk to the guy. Not for the first time Koichi wished they'd grown up together. This would've been so much easier then.

Here goes nothing. "Penny for your thoughts?" Well… It wasn't the worst way to ask, Koichi supposed.

Koji grumbled. "I just can't believe Takuya! I mean, does he really think he beat Sayumon single-handedly?" The younger twin snarled. "We all saw how our attacks combined did nothing! How does he get it in his head that he can do any damage on his own?!"

"Well, to be fair, Takuya was out of it for most of the fight." Koichi reasoned. "He may not have seen how little damage we did."

"So?!" Koji snapped. "That doesn't give him the right to put himself and us in danger because of his cocky I-can-do-it-myself attitude!"

Koichi blinked. Didn't Koji keep to himself for days when they first entered the digital world because of that same attitude? What changed?

Wait… "You're worried about him." he realized. "Aren't you?"

Koji scoffed. "Of course I am. If he keeps this up sooner or later he's gonna end up in a fight he can't get himself out of." He thought back to the battle with Grumblemon. He thought he could take on the guy by himself, but then he found himself dangling off a cliff holding onto the broken wall of a house for dear life. "He can't just toss fire at every opponent and expect it to work, or else he's gonna get hurt, or worse!"

Koichi could definitely see where he was coming from. He felt the same way whenever he watched Koji take on someone by himself, refusing help, refusing to stick together and go off on his own. He's glad Koji's sticking with them now.

"And it doesn't help that with the way he's acting it doesn't seem like he cares about others getting hurt either." Koji finally spat out.

"I'm sure that's not the case." Koichi jumped in to defend the guy. "He might be overconfident, but I doubt he'd do something that would hurt us on purpose."

Koji knew. But right now it didn't feel like it.

Meanwhile Sophia and Rosalie were in the ruins pocketing as many in-tact fire crystals as they could find. They hadn't had much luck outside, only finding broken grey pieces, which were used duds according to Bokomon. From the brief explanation they got, fire crystals would emit sparks of fire upon being broken, so if you toss them in the middle of some kindle it would make a quick and easy campfire. It would be much easier to use than rubbing sticks together.

"Okay, that should hopefully be enough." Sophia said, dumping another handful of crystals in Rosalie's backpack. "You good over there?" she asked her sister, who was still picking up crystals as though she didn't hear Sophia.

Rosalie hummed, distracted by her own thoughts.

That didn't sit well with the older girl. She went over to Rosalie and kneeled down next to her. "Hey, you okay?" she asked. "If this is about Sayumon-"

"Puranmon…" Rosalie muttered. When her sister made a confused noise, she spoke up a little louder. "That's her name. Puranmon. Sayumon is just what Cherubimon made her."

Sophia put her arm around Rosalie, pulling her close. "Hey, we'll get her back. Maybe not today, but soon. I promise."

Tears escaped Rosalie's eyes. "I miss her…"

"I know…"

The sisters stayed there until Koichi came to tell them Takuya and Tommy came back with the food. Rosalie dumped the fire crystals she'd been holding in her bag and followed him out of the ruins to where the campfire was. The kids weren't exactly sure what they were eating, but it tasted sort of fruity. All in all not bad.

But then Takuya had to open his mouth and talk about his new plan to beat Sayumon. The kids were in disbelieve at Takuya's 'new and improved plan', seeing as it was the same as before!

"How long did it take you to come up with 'attack all at once'? A second?" Zoe scoffed at his 'plan'.

JP had to agree with her. "Yeah, we tried that already. Remember?"

"Besides, remember what Bokomon said about environment increasing someone's power?" Sophia asked him. "Sure he was talking about Ranamon near water, but it's probably the same for Sayumon near plants."

Rosalie nodded. "And what's a forest but one big area of plants?"

Well color Bokomon surprised. She actually remembered what he said!

Still, Takuya wasn't quiet finished yet. "Now, now, now. I realize it may look like the same plan, but once I lay it out for you, you'll see plenty of differences." Tommy nodded in agreement. "Alright, Tommy, show them the plan."

"One plan, coming up!" The younger boy grabbed a figure made of sticks, leafs and something that looked like chestnuts or acorns. He set it on one of the stone blocks. "Say this is Sayumon."

It really looked like her too. "Wow, Tommy did you make that?" Zoe asked.

Tommy nodded. "Man, it looks just like her." JP had to give his compliments to the figure.

"Yeah, you're really good at this." Koichi told their youngest.

Takuya huffed. "I helped too, you know." He shook his head. That wasn't important. "Anyway, back to the plan. I'll Spirit Evolve to Agunimon and stop her."

"Do I get my own doll too?" "Yeah, I want one." Zoe and JP interrupted his plan again. But he couldn't exactly blame them. Tommy's dolls were pretty awesome. He pulled out the other dolls, showing them off to his eager friends.

But now to get back to his plan. He placed the dolls of MetalKabuterimon, Vibramon and Korikakumon behind Agunimon. "So, once I've stopped her everyone will Beast Spirit Evolve. Then, MetalKabuterimon, Korikakumon and Vibramon will move in." Tommy placed the remaining dolls on the make-shift table, right behind Sayumon. "Zephyrmon, KendoGarurumon and JagerLowemon will sneak up on her flank. Then when I give the signal we'll all attack!" Takuya knocked over the Sayumon doll. "And that's that. Any questions?"

'Several… Like, do you know the definition of insanity?' Sophia thought seeing as this plan was basically what they tried before, only replacing speed with bulk and power.

"Just one. When do we get going?" Tommy, the ever optimistic child, asked.

Zoe had to admit, it did look promising. "I'm in shock. That looks like it might really work."

Takuya huffed. Way to have faith in him.

"I don't know… There's still a big problem." JP remarked.

For real? "What do you mean? Where's there a problem?" Takuya was getting real sick of everyone underestimating him.

Zoe realized what JP was talking about immediately. "Oh yeah. Just how are you planning on stopping Sayumon?" Especially as Agunimon…

"I mean, she knocked you all over the place last time, and that was your Beast Spirit." JP continued on his earlier thoughts.

Takuya looked away from them. "Yeah, well, last time I wasn't on guard. This time I know what to expect." he reasoned.

"I don't like it!" Koji stood firm in his refusal towards any of Takuya's overconfident plans.

"Aw what's the matter? Not enough running away for you?" Takuya mocked the lone wolf.

Rosalie nodded. "I'm sorry to say, but I agree with Koji."

"Huh?" Takuya couldn't believe it! Her too?!

"Sayumon's different than anyone we've ever fought before." Koji tried to reason with the fiery boy. "Instead of fighting we should-"

Hold on a second! "Wait! You're not really thinking of running away are you?" Takuya asked Koji in disbelief.

"Yes, I am."

"You're pathetic!" Takuya yelled at him. "What makes you think we could get away even if we wanted to?!" It's like he told the Kokuwamon. If they run now, they'll keep running forever. They can't do that! They're Legendary Warriors, they had to save the digital world from danger, not run from it!

Koji stood up and walked towards the woods. "Takuya, let's talk." was all he said to get the boy to follow him.

And Takuya did follow. They barely acknowledged the calls from Zoe to not do anything stupid as they walked off into the woods. The blonde hid her face in her hands. Why did those two always have to go at each others' throat? Koichi stared after his brother, hoping he could work it out with Takuya peacefully. He sighed. Something told him that wasn't going to happen, though.

JP turned to Rosalie. "Hey, what made you agree with Koji anyway?"

The girl was a little startled at being addressed after the earlier confrontation. "I just… I know Sayumon." she said. "At least before she was corrupted…" she muttered.

"What do you mean?" Zoe asked.

Rosalie hand went to her pocket, feeling the outline of her D-Tector. "She used to be Puranmon… My Spirit." Zoe, JP and Tommy gasped. "Cherubimon took her from me, corrupted her into Sayumon. But I still feel a connection to her."

"In other words… Sayumon has not just gotten a power boost from Cherubimon's darkness, but also from her connection with you." Sophia concluded. "That and the fact we're in her domain… She's basically gotten a triple power boost."

Rosalie nodded. "There's also a lot that Takuya isn't taking into account." she told everyone. "Sayumon's powers are the same as Puranmon's. She can create powder to make plants grow, as we saw with the tree, but it can do so much more. Paralyze an opponent, make them go to sleep, there was even powder that could heal someone, though I doubt she'll use that."

Koichi nodded, picking up what she was putting down. "That means, if she's fast enough she can use that powder to paralyze or put us to sleep before we even have a chance to attack."

"So, Takuya's plan is not going to work?" Tommy asked the older boy.

Koichi couldn't answer that, nor could anyone else. They didn't know enough about Sayumon to confidently say anything.

"But Koji isn't entirely right either…" Sophia said, gaining everyone's attention. "We can't keep running… Retreat if the battle's too tough, maybe, but we can't keep fleeing."

"So, you're saying nobody's right." JP scoffed.

The girl nodded hesitantly. "Well, kinda?" she said, unsure of her own words. "There has to be a middle ground…?"

The others looked at the figures made for Takuya's plan. A middle ground sounded great in theory, but what would it even be?

"There's also something that's been bugging me…" Rosalie said. "When Koji confronted Takuya the first time… When he said he could've gotten hurt, or we could've, Takuya said 'So?', didn't he?" She remembered the absolute shock she felt when he said that. "Does he… not care if we get hurt? When he gets hurt?"

The others winced. They all heard him say it, but they'd been trying not to think about it. Does he care if they get hurt? Or does he just not care if he himself gets hurt? Or…or both?

"Ehihihihihi~ Found you~!"

Oh no…

With barely anytime to respond, everyone jumped to their feet and out of the way of the oncoming attack. Razor sharp leafs tore a hole in the ground they'd just been standing, but everyone avoided it in the nick of time. While Rosalie, Bokomon and Neemon hid in the woods, everyone else grabbed their D-Tectors.

"EXECUTE! BEAST SPIRIT EVOLUTION!"

"METALKABUTERIMON!"

"ZEPHYRMON!"

"KORIKAKUMON!"

"JAGERLOWEMON!"

"VIBRAMON!"

"How'd she find us so quickly?" MetalKabuterimon wondered.

To answer, Sayumon patted a tree next o her. "You really think my darlings wouldn't tell me where you were hiding?"

"That's not reassuring…" Zephyrmon fretted. If she could do that, they'll never be able to escape her.

Now what? All that had was a half-baked plan of Takuya's, and it wasn't even doable without everyone here. If it was even possible at all!

But still, it was all they had right now… "It'll be okay. Just stick to the plan."

"What good is a plan for all of us to attack if we're not all here?" Zephyrmon asked, looking around to see if she could spot Takuya or Koji. "Guys, where are you?"

Vibramon's ears twitched, hearing the familiar voices of her teammates calling for their Beast Spirit and Human Spirit evolutions. "Almost here Z." she told the girl.

As on cue, the two of them jumped to the front of the group. This was it! Time to put the plan in motion!

"This is it, guys!" Agunimon called as he rushed forward. "Attack!"

"Wait!" KendoGarurumon called after him. But Agunimon was too far ahead.

MetalKabuterimon held back a sigh. "I guess we have to follow Takuya's plan now."

Korikakumon, still having faith in Takuya's plan, tried to reassure the others. "Hey, don't worry. It's a good plan."

"Let's hope so." MetalKabuterimon wasn't so sure. Neither was KendoGarurumon. Honestly what did a kid who didn't even reach double digits yet know about good plans?

Meanwhile Agunimon had already reached Sayumon. Let's see this little plant lady take on some real fire! He shot his pyro punch at the warrior, who merely stepped aside to dodge them.

So she wanted to play it like that, huh? "Okay, speedy, dodge this!" Charging up all his fire, Agunimon went for it. "PYRO TORNADO!"

A wall of stone-hard vines grew before his leg made contact. Sayumon giggled from behind the wall, dropping it into a limp pile shortly after. "Is this really the best you can do?"

Agunimon shook. He gave all that he had in that attack! How was she sill standing? "No. I can't lose." Not even he sounded sure of himself. "But how can I win?" His inner self even started doubting himself.

But Agunimon wasn't about to give up! He went in for the punch, but every time another wall of vines rose, made from the spores Sayumon released from her wings. Every time they were hard as stone.

Sayumon started to look bored. "Are you done yet? This is getting dull."

The warrior of flame couldn't believe this. She matched the speed of his punches, and made vines strong enough that they didn't even crack. There was no way he could beat her if he couldn't even touch her!

No! No, he had to try! If they attack as one they couldn't lose! "Well, I guess I'd better find out if I'm right. It's time to go to work guys!" Takuya mentally encouraged his friends.

He feigned an attack, only to pass Sayumon and grab her under the arms. Even from where he stood KendoGarurumon could tell Sayumon let him grab her, but they had to take this chance. As Agunimon gave the signal everyone ran into position, even if just to save their idiot friend.

"It's over, Sayumon! You're finished!" Agunimon, still shaking, sounded so sure of himself. "Let her have it!"

"HURRICANE GALE!"

"LUPINE LASER!"

"EBONY BLAST!"

"BOLO THUNDER!"

"AVALANCHE AXES!"

"VOICE OF THE BEAST!"

Agunimon let go of Sayumon and jumped to avoid the attacks headed towards them. A rainbow of explosions hit the evil warrior. There was no way she avoided that! And he was right. She didn't avoid it. Sayumon once again out-sped them and created a dome of vines to tank their attacks. The vines pushed against the attack, opening the dome and sending the mix of attacks back in everyone's faces.

Sayumon was completely unharmed, even going as far as to brush some non-existing dust off her shoulder out of boredom.

Agunimon landed behind her. "It's not possible!" His plan! It didn't work?! How were they supposed to beat her now?!

Sayumon turned her head to face him, a manic smile on her face. "You'll be the first." A vine from her head went down her arm to act as sword. "Your body will be the perfect fertilizer for my precious nature." In the blink of an eye Sayumon was in front of him. "Say goodbye, little warrior."

Agunimon closed his eyes, too afraid to look the demented warrior in the eye any longer. Sayumon grinned as she swung down.

"Koji!"

Wait… Koji?

Agunimon opened his eyes, finding KendoGarurumon had jumped in front of him, taking Sayumon's attack head on. Data streams surrounded him as he reverted back to his human form and fell to the ground, unconscious.

"Koji!" Agunimon rushed to pick him up off the ground. "Koji, why?!" Why did he jump in front of him?! He should've been the one who'd gotten hit! It was his stupid idea! He should be the one to pay for it, not Koji!

JagerLowemon stared at his brother's body in shock. He was alive, right? He had to be! His shock turned to rage. Sayumon! She was gonna pay for this! If not for Vibramon rushing over and holding him back, he would've torn that wench to pieces!

"Koichi! Stop! He's alive!" she yelled. "I can hear his heartbeat! Don't let rage control you, Koichi!"

Sayumon yawned as she took flight above the shocked warriors. "As interesting as that was, you still bore me. Though I guess it can't be helped." JagerLowemon glared daggers at her. Boring?! Trying to kill Takuya and almost succeeding in killing his brother was boring?! "I'll just let the others deal with you. Be dears and stay still, will you."

Her wings started beating at near impossible speed as white powder was released from them. "SAYU POWDER!"

As a cloud of white descended onto the warriors below, they found themselves growing drowsy. Was… was this the sleeping powder Rosalie was talking about? Within seconds everyone had de-Spirit Evolved and passed out. That is, all but JagerLowemon, whose anger was stronger than the pull of sleep. Even with Sophia's unconscious body draped on his back, he couldn't focus on anything but the warrior of plant.

A dark aura grew, surrounding his body. It caught the evil warrior off guard. "Oh my. It seems there's someone mildly interesting after all." She lowered herself to his height. "Go ahead then, little cub. Do your worst."

The darkness grew outwards, beyond JagerLowemon's body. It created a dome of some sort, covering himself, Sayumon and the other warriors. JagerLowemon struck her in her moment of blindness, tossing her far enough to be able to grab his brother and flee.

As much as he wanted to take everyone, he couldn't. He wasn't strong enough for that, he had to prioritize the injured. He would come back for the others! He just had to be quick! He just… had to… His thoughts slowed down as the effects of the spores caught up to him. No… No! He couldn't… He had… to…

Data streams surrounded his body as Koichi finally gave in to the spores. In his last seconds of consciousness he saw a blurry shape make its way to him. Danger! He had to… Had to… s-sleep…

And thus the last warrior fell victim to the sleeping powder.

Okay, but real question. Why was the crystal JP used to start the campfire only in this one episode? It's such a great way to make a fire easy and quickly!

Fun fact: I was debating naming the crystals 'Fire Crackers' instead of 'Fire Crystals', but I couldn't find a way to make that a believable name in the Digital World.
