BrianShooter672: Thank you for the support. Also, I'll see what I can do about Raditz getting together with a certain character.

Jesse Chambers: Tien, Chiaotzu, and Yamcha were too much into their training to know about Cooler. As for Sparking Zero, it was pretty good. I love the animations, the character models, and the What If scenarios in the story mode. My only issues are getting the What Ifs requirements and getting Dragon Balls. All in all pretty good game. As for adapting the stories of certain games... I'm still thinking about it.

Atea1793: Raditz will have an impact in the story. As for the format, it's just the way I'm writing this story.

Chapter 14: One Step Closer

Trunks was inside of his Time Machine as it was levitating above the heroes. Trunks looked at them all and spoke to himself.

Trunks: I'll be back to help you out in three years, your time, but hopefully you won't need my help. Mother, Father, I wish you two nothing but the best. The same goes for you as well Goku and Gohan. Until we meet again.

Trunks smiled and waved at the heroes before pressing a button on the panel causing the vehicle to teleport away.

Soon enough, Trunks returned back to his own timeline and saw that nothing has changed. There were still destroyed buildings and he can't sense that many people still alive.

Trunks got out of the Time Machine and placed it back in it's capsule before walking into the destroyed Capsule Corp building. Inside he found an aged Bulma working on something new.

Trunks: Mom, I'm back!

Bulma turned around and smiled. She was elated that her son was back. Bulma got up and ran towards him.

Bulma: Trunks! Thank goodness, you're back! Did you meet everyone in past?!

Trunks: I did. Although, I have to tell you what happened.

Trunks told Bulma everything that when journeyed to the past. Bulma was happy, confused, and shocked at what he said.

Bulma: Goku's parents were there?! I only know about his brother Raditz.

Trunks: So you don't know anything about them?

Bulma: Oh course not. Your father always said that the Saiyans met their end by Frieza years ago. I find it hard to believe that Goku's parents would have survived let alone escaped. Tell me, what were they like.

Trunks: His father looks just like him only he had a scar on his left cheek. His mother was very nice and surprisingly they look very young.

Bulma grimaced at that.

Bulma: Of course, if his mother looked young than his father looked young as well. Honestly, I envy how Saiyans age. Then again, I'd love to have met them myself.

Trunks: Tell me mom, do you think that Goku's family would've made a difference if they were here with us?

Bulma: Honestly, I don't know. All we can do is keep holding onto to hope and do our best.

Trunks smiled a bit.

Trunks: You're right. I'm gonna go train. I need to be ready for second trip to the past.

Bulma: Are you sure Trunks?

Trunks: Of course. The Androids are still a threat. Besides, I'm sure Goku is ready for a fight when the time comes.

Trunks began to run off before turning to face his mother again.

Trunks: I'll try to make it back before dinner.

With that, Trunks left to begin training again.

Present/Kami's Lookout

Kami and Goku teleported back to the Lookout with Mr. Popo astonished by their return.

Goku: Hey Mr. Popo, we're back.

Mr. Popo: Kami, Goku, it's good to see you both again. How was New Namek?

Kami smiled at his friend.

Kami: It was like going back home honestly. Everything was peaceful there. More importantly, I feel as though I have gotten stronger since my training with Elder Moori.

Mr. Popo: That's great to hear. A lot has happened while you both were gone.

Kami: What happened?

Mr. Popo: Shortly after you left, Earth was invaded by Frieza's brother, Cooler.

This shocked Goku and Kami.

Goku: Frieza has a brother?!

Mr. Popo: Yes, he did. He also had a three man squad that attacked Gohan, Krillin, and Bardock. Despite Cooler's power and overwhelming strength, Bardock was able to defeat him after achieving Super Saiyan.

This news surprised Goku. Goku could not contain his excitement and exploded in joy.

Goku: Dad is a Super Saiyan?! That's awesome!

Mr. Popo: Your father did a good job with protecting the Earth from Cooler. Though I'm concerned that his new found strength might not be enough for the battle against the Androids.

Goku: Don't worry Mr. Popo. I'm sure we will find a way to win. We won't lose, I promise.

Kami: Just in case, I will upgrade the Dragon Balls immediately. Mr. Popo can you bring the Statue?

Mr. Popo: Of course.

Mr. Popo left before returning in just a couple of seconds. He was holding a Statue of the Eternal Dragon Shenron.

Kami: I will begin upgrading the Dragon Balls now.

Goku: Go for it.

Kami placed the Shenron Statue on the ground before pulling out a bottle and pouring water on top of them. Kami would hold up both hands and began chanting in Namekian.

As he was finishing his chant, the statue began to glow. Once he finished chanting, a beam of light shot into the sky before separating into seven beams of light.

On Earth, the beams of light went to different areas before striking the Dragon Balls, empowering them.

Back on the Lookout, Kami sighed from slight exhaustion. He smiled before turning to Goku and Mr. Popo.

Kami: The Dragon Balls have been upgraded.

Goku: That's great!

Kami: You can look for the Dragon Balls once you are ready.

Goku smiled brightly hearing this.

Goku: Thank you Kami. I'll start looking for the Dragon Balls later. For now, I better find my family first. I'll see you guys later.

Kami: Oh course, take care Goku.

Mr. Popo: Come again any time.

Kami and Mr. Popo wave goodbye to Goku as Goku teleports away.

Goku's House

Gohan opened the front door to his home as he finished his studies.

Gohan: Mom, I'm going out for a bit!

Chi Chi called out from the inside of the house.

Chi Chi: Be careful out there Gohan!

Gohan: I will!

As Gohan was about to close the door, Goku teleported in front of him.

Gohan: DAD!

Goku smiled as he greeted his son.

Goku: Gohan! Hey, how's it goin?!

Gohan ran up and hugged his dad as Chi Chi opened in the door way.

Chi Chi: Goku!

Goku: Hey Chi Chi, sorry for taking so long to come home.

Chi Chi ran up and hugged him.

Chi Chi: I'm just glad that you're back.

Chi Chi and Gohan broke the hug as Goku looked around.

Goku: Hey where is mom and dad?!

Chi Chi: Oh Bulma decided to give them a house to live in. In fact their house is right behind you.

Goku turned around to see that was another house.

Goku: Wow, Bulma gave them a really nice house.

?: Glad you like it.

Goku, Gohan, and Chi Chi looked to their left to see Bardock and Gine walk over to them. They saw that Bardock caught several Giant Fishes and held a bag in his left hand.

Gine: We were by the river getting some Fish when we sensed your return Kakarot.

Bardock: I caught at least five Fishes. Still don't think this will be enough to satisfy us all.

Chi Chi: I can make something to just in case.

Goku took a step forward.

Goku: By the way Dad, I heard you became a Super Saiyan while fighting someone named Cooler.

Bardock smirked a bit.

Bardock: It took a while but I was able to achieve it. It is a bit tricky to master but I'm sure I can control with enough training.

Chi Chi crossed her arms.

Chi Chi: I personally don't like it. No offense but it makes you both look like delinquents.

Goku: Wait you've seen it?

Chi Chi: He showed it to me after he beat Cooler.

Bardock placed the Fish inside a Capsule.

Bardock: So has the guardian of Earth returned as well?

Goku: Yes, he has. Most importantly, he has already upgraded the Dragon Balls. All we have to do is collect them and make a wish.

Bardock and Gine were surprised by this.

Gine: Really?

Bardock: That's great. Soon how long until we can go a find these Dragon Balls?

Goku: We can start any time we want but I say we should collect them tomorrow.

Bardock: Fair enough.

Chi Chi: Actually Goku, you can't go collect the Dragon Balls tomorrow. It's about time that we get ourselves a car.

Goku, Bardock, Gine and Gohan all looked at Chi Chi confused.

Chi Chi: It's really annoying how don't have a car and obviously, I can't fly so I've asked Bulma to set up you, Bardock, and Piccolo to get your licenses. Bulma even went on ahead and managed to get personal ID's for Bardock, Gine, and Piccolo.

Goku used his left arm to rub the back of his neck.

Goku: Well, okay Chi Chi. We'll try our best getting our licenses.

Chi Chi smiled at this while Bardock sighed.

Bardock: Looks like we're going to get our licenses.

Gine: I'm sure you all will be fine. Just hold on a little bit longer Raditz.

Otherworld

King Yemma was busy stamping papers and passing judgement on the souls that arrived in Otherworld. As he finished stamping papers and judging which souls go to Heaven or Hell, he sat back in his chair and frowned.

King Yemma: I can't believe you Goku.

-Flashback-

The day before, Goku teleported in front of King Yemma.

King Yemma: Goku?! What are you doing here?! You're dead anymore!

Goku rubbed the back of his neck and smiled a bit.

Goku: King Yemma, I came here to ask you for something important. Can you create a new body for Raditz since his old body is decomposed?

King Yemma: Why should I do that Goku? Your brother was a known killer and a destroyer!

Goku: I understand. I promise you I'll take care of him and keep him in line.

King Yemma sighed a bit.

King Yemma: This is an incredibly crazy idea Goku but fine. I'll give your brother a new body based on his previous body. However, you owe me big time for this.

Goku smiled brightly.

Goku: Thank you King Yemma. I gotta get going.

Goku placed two fingers on his forehead and teleported away.

-Flashback End-

King Yemma: Honestly, those Dragon Balls will become a problem for everyone one day.

Beside King Yemma was the new body of Raditz that was created.

Next time... A driving test where chaos ensues. Plus, Bardock and Gine talk.
