Chapter 3 Sera
Its been a year since the invasion of Naboo and since Earth had become part of the Republic.
Since then things had changed drastically for everyone.
The Republic was weeding out Corruption like crazy kicking out Corrupt senators curtsy of SHIELD finding them.
Next would be the Jedi changing the code from the flawed one to a more solid one that allowed emotions and attachments and finally doing something good for all the galaxy.
As for the Crysis unit it had expanded greatly throughout the year.
Malgus had left instructions on how to make others with the same armor and enhanced senses with increased strength and mobility.
Right now there were at best 20 new members of the Crysis unit since they needed specific requirements to give them the armor and abilities.
As for the Mandolorians they were part of the Crysis unit.
And Mandolore was now part of the Republic after Crysis had a talk with Satine about the coming crisis.
Seeing the threat for what it truly was she was willing to let her people back on that old path for a better future.
As for the Republic they were slowly building up their numbers in military.
Right now though.
Sean was in his room just watching TV.
"Seriously? Jeopardy?" Coulson asked.
"I like these kinda shows. Seeing how smart people really are." Sean said making him chuckle.
"Anyway Fury is looking for you and the Crysis unit. Apparently theres been a new planet discovered." Coulson said as he got up getting his armor on before walking out.
Arriving at the main office they find Fury with the Jedi council.
"There you guys are." Fury said.
"Whats going on?" Sean asked.
"Recent intel has located a new planet in our galaxy. And...Scans indicate life." Garret said.
"So whats the problem?" David asked.
"We didn't get a good look but there appears to be some kind of infighting on the ground. Damaged buildings, Dead bodies. We didn't get a good enough look before the probes were destroyed by something." Ward said.
"Mm. If there is infighting on the ground we need to stop it." Mace said.
"Agreed. Thats why I'm bringing in the Crysis unit. Along with the Mandolorians who are available." Fury said.
Later
A republic cruiser known as a Venator Star Destroyer was arriving at the new planet.
"Kinda looks like Earth." David said.
"Yeah but it's got two moons and the Rotation period is 26 hours instead of 24." Sean said before heading to the Helicarier docked below.
Heading into the atmosphere they sent more probes out to investigate.
"This place is riddled with battle scars." Garret said seeing the images.
"Something is going on." Crysis said before seeing a fight on the ground of men with armor on with what looked like guns with chainsaws on them fighting some inhuman creatures.
"What the hell?" Bo-Katen asked.
"Get the men down there." Fury said.
On the ground
Marcus Fenix yelled as he was shooting at the Locust one at a time with near perfect accuracy.
The Locust war had been going on for the last 8 years since Emergence day 6 weeks after the end of the Pendulum wars came to an end.
"Marcus look out!" Dom yelled as a Larger Locust tried to hit him.
Only for them to feel a shadow making them look up seeing the hellicarier.
"What the?" Marcus said before pods were shot out as the Crysis units came out before shooting at the Locust.
"Holy shit!" A gear yelled before Mandolorians flew down before blasting the locust.
"Pour it on them!" Hoffman yelled as they both attacked the Locust forcing them back as they saw they were outmatched making the gears cheer.
"The hell was that about?" Keizer asked.
"Those are the Locust, son. We've been at war with them for the last 8 years." Hoffman said.
"Who are you guys?" Dom asked.
"We're with the Galactic Republic. We're from an organization called SHIELD. Found your planet not that long ago and came to investigate. Sounds like you guys need some help." Crysis said.
"You don't know the half of it." Marcus said.
Later
"The Galactic Republic. Catchy. So why are you here?" Chairman Prescott asked at his desk.
"We came to investigate the planet...Didn't think we'd find you in the middle of a war against these Locust. Why are they attacking you?" Keizer asked.
"I don't know. Perhaps to wipe out all of mankind for petty reasons. But they've been relentless these last 8 years." Prescott said making Crysis frown behind his visor checking brainwave activity.
"We'll help end this war." Fury said.
"I do appreciate the help. And when it's over we'll gladly join the Republic." Prescott said as they left.
"A word." Crysis said to Marcus and Dom as they went into another room.
"Whats up?" Marcus asked.
"Whats really going on here? The Chairman was clearly lying." Crysis said surprising them.
"How do you know?" Dom asked.
"My visor was monitoring his brain activity showed signs he was lying. Brain activity, Increased heart rate, Muscle contractions." Crysis said surprising them.
"You got all that in one talk?" Marcus asked.
"I'm different from others on Earth. Like the rest of my unit. I'm one of the five original members of the Crysis unit. There are only 20 members of my division since the requirements for this armor is...Difficult to say the least." Crysis said.
"How difficult?" Dom asked before his armor vanished showing who he really was shocking them.
"What the hell?" Marcus said.
"Shocking I know. The armor requires certain physical and mental requirements. Strong body and mind. Not an easy thing to find in just anyone." Sean said before his armor came back on. "But the fact is I know the chairman Is lying about the truth of the Locust." Crysis said.
"Wouldn't surprise us. The COG has always lied about everything." Dom said.
"Anywhere you know I could dig up the truth?" Crysis asked.
"None. He keeps things close to the vest." Marcus said.
"If there is anything that could help it would have to be someplace long since abandoned." Dom said.
"Hmm." Crysis said before leaving.
"Seriously? Using kids in their ranks?" Dom asked.
"I don't think it's that simple." Marcus said.
Meanwhile
"Your absolutely sure?" Fury asked Crysis.
"He's lying about this whole war. I can tell." Crysis said.
"We need proof. And obviously we can't interrogate him or it would look bad." Coulson said.
"We could just ask the Locust." Agent Hand said.
"I doubt they'll talk to us." Mundi said.
"It' worth a shot." Crysis said leaving.
"I'll go with." Bo-Katen said.
"Me too." Sabine Wren said leaving.
Later
"So what makes you think we're just gonna find them?" Sabine asked as they walked the forests.
"Call it a hunch." Crysis said.
"So say the Chairman is actually lying about this war. What happens when we find out the truth?" Bo-Katen asked.
"That would be up to the courts." Crysis said before a emergence hole appeared before Locust came out aiming at them making Bo and Sabine do the same only for Crysis to hold up a hand stopping both as he laid his weapon down.
"We're not looking for a fight...We want answers...Nothing more." Crysis said making many growl before their faces changed to a more relaxed expression.
"Wait...They're getting telepathic messages." Sabine said.
"How do you know?" Bo asked.
"I studied what I could in SHIELD archives. While theres not that many there are a lot of notes and theories." Sabine said before one larger Locust slowly walked to them making the girls tense as Crysis crossed his arms as he stood in front of him towering over him.
"We want the truth...To expose the Chairman for the fraud he clearly is." Crysis said as he lightly snarled before nodding as a few reaver's flew down to them before they all got on.
"I don't like this." Bo-Katen said.
"Just relax." Crysis said as they took off.
Later
Arriving at some outpost under ice they broke in.
"Welcome." A little rolling machine said.
"And you are?" Crysis asked.
"I am Niles." Niles said.
"We're with the Republic." Sabine said.
"Republic?" Niles asked.
"It's a galactic government thats been around for thousands of years. And from another galaxy that just recently arrived to this one." Crysis said.
"Ah, I always believed in other life across the stars." Niles said as the one now known as RAAM snarled at him.
"I get the feeling we're going to find a lot of ugly secrets here." Bo said as they made it inside finding the room below flooded with liquid nitrogen.
"The hell happened in here?" Crysis asked.
"Cryo systems must be screwed up." Crysis said before fixing the system reseting it all before it went down seeing people frozen solid.
"Whoa." Sabine said.
"I'm gonna assume this was probably years ago." Crysis said.
"That it was." Niles said leading them away before they noticed some beasts in containers.
"What the hell?" Bo asked.
"Oh those are the sires. We were using them for Genetic research." Niles said.
"Nothing good I'd assume." Crysis said making RAAM nod as they walked forward.
"Oh but it was. It was to cure children with Rustlung. A disease on this planet. But it opened up to something far more exciting." Niles said.
"So why set up here. The COG give you this place?" Sabine asked.
"Not exactly. They shut us down after some...Disagreements. But we continued our work here. It was far too important to simply just shut down...As you will see." Niles said.
Inside the next lab they found more creatures in tanks but they looked more deformed.
"Let me guess? Early stages of your research?" Crysis asked looking at them.
"You're far more wise than your associates." Niles said.
"What the hell does that mean? You stupid..." Sabine said.
"Enough." Crysis said stopping her making her grumble. "How did you manage all this?" Crysis asked.
"During the days of the Pendulum war...Several Miners children were sent to us to cure them...But one of them was very...Gifted. She was resistant to aging, Disease. We raised her as our own." Niles said making RAAM scowl which Crysis noticed before leading him away.
"You know her don't you?" Crysis asked making him nod. "Ok." Crysis said before Niles led them somewhere else.
Finding another lab they found another tank filled with yellow liquid before seeing it looked like a Locust soldier.
"Wait...This is where the Locust were born...They aren't natural lifeforms are they?" Bo asked cautious.
"Well, no. I suppose you could say that. You see...The girl I told you of. Her DNA was a perfect match for the Sires. Since they could not reproduce we managed to make them...The Locust. They were easily controllable...And could reproduce." Niles said.
"I'm thinking theres more to that story. But...What I wanna know is...How did you make them? Did you breed her with them?" Crysis asked having his riffle appear.
"Not in the way you're probably thinking I assure you." Niles said.
"And all your research? Is it here?" Sabine asked.
"Of course." Niles said.
"Download it." Crysis said getting her to do that. "My question is why are they at war with mankind? They clearly escaped you. So what am I not seeing?" Crysis asked.
"That my friend."
Crysis turned seeing a woman with Locust guard with her.
"Is what he is not telling you."
"Myyrah." Niles said.
"Niles. I wish I could say it's good to see you...But I'd be lying." Myyrah said before RAAM crushed him.
"Whats really going on?" Crysis asked leaning on the wall.
"Why don't you ask the Chairman?" Myyrah asked.
"He's lying about everything. I don't trust liars. And if theres something he's done to all of you...I will expose it...If it ends this war peacefully." Crysis said making her smirk.
"I want to see your true face if I reveal anything to you." Myyrah said before his armor vanished shocking her. "A child?" Myyrah asked as her men looked in shock.
"You're not the only one who's special. Lots of people on Earth are more unique. Now...Whats going on?" Sean asked.
"You see...During the Last war...I had a daughter...Who was stolen from me. I was told she died by her father's hand to spite Niles...I became enraged as any parent would be at that loss...And commanded the Locust here to Rebel. Niles and the rest of his people died that day. We escaped to the Hollow to live in peace...But then...I discovered my daughter was still alive." Myyrah said.
"And Prescott has her." Bo said.
"Yes. He's constantly moving her and her husband. He won't give them up. But he's also no fool. He knows if he kills either of them I'll do far worse than I've already done. I just want her back. But he refuses." Myyrah said.
"I knew that fucker was a liar." Crysis said as his armor appeared.
"If you recover her...I will end this war peacefully...And have my people join the Republic. If Prescott's actions are made public...And Punished accordingly." Myyrah said.
"Like you even need to ask." Bo said.
Later
Crysis along with his entire unit were approaching Prescott's office before they made it in.
"There you are. I was beginning to think something happened." Prescott said but felt tension in the room. "Whats wrong?" Prescott said.
"Stand up. You're under arrest." Crysis said.
"On what charges?" Prescott demanded.
"Kidnapping for one. We know about Myyrah's daughter. She and Niles told us everything." Crysis said making him widen his eyes in horror.
"You...You don't understand. I needed leverage to keep them in line. I swore..." Prescott tried to say before getting stunned by one of the new members.
"He was getting on my nerves."
"Granted." Crysis said grabbing him and cuffing him as they walked out with everyone watching.
"So...It's over?" Anya asked.
"Not yet." Marcus said.
Later
It was also later revealed that Prescott had been hiding people of the most value on a small island hidden by a maelstrom barrier that was later taken down.
It only made matters worse for him since now he was facing life in prison on Coruscant without any possibility of getting out.
As for the Planet Sera the war was finally over. Both factions signed a peace treaty with the Republic to end the war for good and all the evidence of the COG's most vile and cruel operations were brought to light.
It caused a major tear down in it's structure and being rebuilt with security precautions to make sure it could never happen again.
As for Myyrah and her daughter they had a tearful reunion after so long apart. (Theres No Immulsion in this story and no Lambent)
"I have to say I am really impressed by how far you all went to expose the truth." Valorum said in his office to the Crysis unit.
Normally he would have been out of office by now but since everything was being reconstructed to prevent what happened from ever happening again he was given a longer term.
"Thats what SHIELD does. We get results. Any luck on Zemo or the rest of HYDRA?" Crysis asked.
"Sadly no. But the Jedi and the new Intelligence comity are looking for every possible location they could be. We will find them in time. You have my word." Valorum said firmly.
"Good." Crysis said as they left.
"So now what?" Aqua asked.
"Now we continue training the next batch of recruits." Crysis said.
"Not easy to find them sir." A rookie said.
"Nope. But we will in time." Crysis said.
Author's note: I am loving this story more and more. I am planning to update as many of my other stories as possible since I wanna divid attention for them all.
