Cell vs Calyrex
In an arctic area outside of a train station, Tale and Cell stood amidst the frozen atmosphere.
"Tale," Cell began as he looked over at the Realmcrafter in question. "Where the fuck are we?!"
"We, Cell, are in the Crown Tundra at the Southernmost point of the Galar region," Tale answered, gesturing to the frozen areas they were in.
"What are we doing here?" Cell asked. "Shouldn't we be training on the Isle of Armor?"
While pointing at Cell, Tale said, "That is a fair point, but the Isle of Armor's Pokémon are of a significantly higher level than of your Wigglytuff. It would not be advantageous for you to train Wigglytuff there, even if the method of sending him out and swapping to another Pokémon should work all the same." Gesturing to a tunnel nearby that was lit up and looked to be human made, Tale said, "We're heading to the Max Lair."
"The Max Lair?" Cell asked. "What, are we gonna meet Max there?"
"If you're referring to Cell Max, no," Tale replied. "We're going in there so I can cash in the many, many, MANY Dynite Ores I have from completing Max Adventures in there, solely so we can level up your Wigglytuff to around level 60."
Cell was visibly confused. "How the hell does that work?"
"To avoid the word vomit that would inevitably ensue such a question, we're going to simply chalk it up to game mechanics," Tale answered.
"Okay…" Cell looked around. "And then what?"
"Well, you could try and catch some Pokémon here," Tale replied. "This is the Crown Tundra after all, so plenty of strong Pokémon can be found here, including a few Fossil Pokémon."
"What about a Vaporeon?" Cell asked.
"Well you could potentially find one wild, but Eevee's do have fixed spawn locations," Tale answered, before pausing and slowly looking at Cell skeptically. "...why do you ask?"
"PLAN C-" Cell began, before he was randomly shot in the leg from afar. "GOD FUCKING DAMN IT!"
Tale looked rather unbothered by the fact Cell got shot in the leg as he crossed his arms and looked down at Cell. "Considering the fact your mind is extremely in the gutter, I'm going to hope this teaches you something." After a moment of Cell whining about how bad the bullet hurt, Tale let out a sigh and picked him up. "Alright, let's get you to town."
In the sleepy town of Freezington, after Cell had the bullet removed from his leg, Cell and Tale were walking around, all while Cell was using crutches because his leg hurt from the one bullet. How? Tale didn't know, and he was just chalking it up to DAU logic.
"Well, with that out of the way, hopefully we can get back on track," Tale said.
"Why does Dragon hate me?" Cell asked, assuming that the bullet in his leg was from StarDustDragonKnight, one of the writers that was friends with Lego.
"Why assume him?" Tale asked. "You do realize Evil is still out there, even if he isn't relevant to this sub arc."
"Because I know it was Dragon!" Cell replied, before tripping and falling face first into the snow. "Goddamnit!" As Cell managed to stand up with Tale's help, Cell grumbled. "I swear to god, this place is out to get me!"
Tale looked down at the ground, specifically where Cell had tripped and saw a very large wooden ball on the ground. "Hmm?" Tale picked it up off the ground and held it up.
"The hell is that?" Cell questioned.
"What you tripped on, and also slightly relevant to this area," Tale said, before looking over at a wooden statue with a tiny deer thing on top of a horse. Walking over to it, Tale planted the wooden orb on top of the tiny wooden creature's head. "There."
"What the hell is that thing?" Cell asked, confused.
"This is the statue of the King of Bountiful Harvests," Tale replied. "And we have returned to him, his crown."
"That's his crown?!" Cell shouted, baffled by the large crown of the King of Bountiful Harvests.
"By the name of the Lord, he is summoned!" A voice said, causing Cell and Tale to turn around and see the actual King of Bountiful Harvests floating in front of them. "Cheerio old lads, how do ye fair on this fine day?"
"You are?" Cell asked.
"One is the King of Bountiful Harvests," the king said telepathically. "One's common name is Calyrex." Looking over at Tale, Calyrex nodded. "Many thanks for restoring one's crown to one's statue. It has resupplied a fair amount of my power, as does your presence and knowledge of one's existence."
"Tale, I need a translation!" Cell said. "I don't speak European!"
"It's speaking English," Tale remarked dryly.
"Same thing!"
Tale gawked at Cell for a moment, before closing his mouth and taking a small breath. "Calyrex is saying that by fixing its statue, we restored a bit of its power. Also, because I am familiar with Calyrex and its legends, I also helped restore its power."
"How does that work?" Cell questioned.
"In order to have its strength, it must be recognized by the people of this town," Tale answered. "In legends, it also once ruled over the entire Galar region in times of yore as its king. Said times have passed however, and slowly its powers have diminished."
"Precisely, wise one," Calyrex confirmed. "One's power has greatly diminished, but your presence makes things more bearable."
Tale nodded. "By the way, the name's Talespinner69, or that's what I go by as a Realmcrafter. And this fool is named Cell."
"Hey!" Cell shouted as he looked at Tale.
"Very well Mr. Spinner," Calyrex said. "One commends thee for their assistance. I suppose I shall now return to scavenging for food from within the town."
"Um… Tale works as well," Tale said in response to being called 'Mr. Spinner', before thinking about it for a minute. "...hmm, Tale Spinner."
As Calyrex began floating away, Cell looked at Tale. "So, that thing is a Pokémon, right?"
"Yes," Tale replied. "It can be pretty strong, but ultimately has a lot of weaknesses that-"
Before Tale could finish giving his thoughts on Calyrex, Cell pulled out a Pokéball from within the bag given to him by Tale and chucked it at Calyrex in the back of its head. "Bingo!" Cell shouted with a shit eating grin on his face.
"Oi, let me finish next time!" Tale shouted at Cell, a little annoyed.
"You said it's strong!" Cell retorted. "And besides, it's my choice who I catch, right?"
"I know that," Tale began. "But at the same time-" Tale was cut off by the clicking of the Pokéball, signaling that Cell caught Calyrex.
"Hell yeah, I caught a King!" Cell shouted, throwing his hands up in the air, just enough so his crutches didn't fall to the ground. As Cell walked over and picked up the Pokéball, he looked over at Tale with a smile. "Behold Tale, my caught King!"
"In its weakened state," Tale replied, crossing his arms.
"Alright, so now to make it strong," Cell said.
"No," Tale immediately said, catching the Perfect Being off guard.
"I'm sorry?" Cell replied, looking at Tale extremely confused.
"Look, as much as I want to help you, you are pushing your luck with how far I'm willing to help you out," Tale said. "As a result, I am NOT going to help you catch Glastrier or Spectrier, and acquire the Reins of Unity to combine Calyrex and either of the two into one Pokémon."
"I'm sorry, Pokémon fuse?" Cell asked.
"They have since the beginning," Tale replied. "Slowpoke and Shelder evolve into Slowbro… though Shelder only evolves with Slowbro in 'dex entries or in the anime, but still, they-" Tale had to take a moment and take a deep breath, before slowly turning back and addressing Cell once again. "That's besides the point. The point is that you're pushing your luck on what I'll tolerate as a Realmcrafter, tutor, and Pokémon Trainer."
Cell let out a sigh and grumbled a bit. "Alright, alright… fine…"
After looking at Cell for a moment, Tale relented. "Good," the Realmcrafter said. "Now, let me reevaluate the training plans I had considering you just caught Calyrex and that threw off my entire regime and plans." As Tale considered how to go about assisting Cell become a Pokémon Master of the DAU, a singular thought ran through Tale's mind.
'This was going to be a looooong side arc…'
Ever since the beginning when Cell vs TFS Nappa happened, I had decided and thought about having this happen, where Cell would catch Calyrex, and considering how Tale is ACTUALLY giving some advice regarding the building of Cell's team (he IS supporting Cell here), I don't want to make things overly complicated for what is a side arc.
In anycase, hope y'all enjoyed the chapter. We'll be back for this sometime later or something. Don't know, but the next chapter will be interesting. Peace!
