" Damn it, I thought I had it that time." said issei, as he was playing a game at an arcade with his two friends, Matsuda and motohama.
" Ah man, you were so close. That boss is impossible to beat." said Matsuda, as he gave Issei a pat on the back.
" Trying to remember all the moves and combos is hard to do, for issei to get that far is an achievement all on its own." said motohama.
The three friends were playing games as they were enjoying their week before starting their new schools. They all tried their best to get into the same school together, that being kuoh academy. An all girls school that just turned co-ed.
You see these three young men are what you would call perverts. But they would call themselves lovers of the female form. To them the female body is as close to divinity as anyone can get. But in their journey to get into a school they believed would get them closer to the divinity they found a problem. Only one of them was able to get in.
Once they went and took there tests to get in, only issei managed to get in with a passing score will matsuda and motohama were unable to get in, meaning that they were spending there last couple days together cause once school starts they wouldn't be able to see each other too much.
They played and the sun began to set enjoying one of their last days together. Walking out of the arcade the three friends were all shoulder to shoulder happy as could be, with big smiles on their faces. " This was fun, same time tomorrow, right guys?" said issei. Matsuda and motohama stopped and issei took a couple more steps before stopping himself. " Wait, is there something wrong?" asked issei.
Matsuda and motohama both looked at each other before looking back at issei with sadness in their eyes. " issei, this is the last day we are here. So no more arcade for us." said motohama.
"We move to a different prefecture for school tomorrow, this is the last night here. We wanted to have one last good night." said matsuda.
Issei was in shock. He just heard that his two best and only friends were leaving. Without having to say any words all three bros had a bro hug spending their last couple minutes together.
Once their bro hug was done they went their separate ways. Issei started his walk home. He was devastated, he was all alone. Walking through the night time streets back home, he decided to take a short cut through the park to clear his head and to calm down. Walking through the trees and bushes, Issei was in his own space, until he heard something big hitting the ground off to his side.
Breaking his silence, Issei jumped, being freaked out by the sound. Looking and not seeing anything, he got a little closer to see what the noise was. Pushing the bushes apart he saw a man all bloody laying on the ground.
" OMG, sir. Sir are you ok? What can I do to help?" asked Issei, trying to help the man. Doing what he can to stop the bleeding but he was having a hard time stopping it given he couldn't the wound that the bleeding was coming from. As he was doing this he didn't see the guy open his eyes revealing two red eyes.
Without any warning, Issei was sent flying into a tree. Landing on the ground, Issei propped himself up on the tree and looked at the guy, only to see the guy flying. " wha….. Wha….What the hell are you?" said Issei, freaking out. All he got in return was a roar, and the sight of the man changing with claws and spikes appearing on his body with his teeth growing sharper.
Issei being the smart individual he is, did the one thing he could think of, scream and run. He ran as fast as he could until a massive force hit him in the back sending him to the ground. Landing hard on the ground, Issei tried to get up but felt a sharp pain on his back. Putting his hand on his back he felt a sharp pain and something wet, pulling his hand back he saw blood, his blood on his hand.
The man landed on the ground a couple feet away from Issei with an evil sharp toothed grin on his face. Slowly walking over to Issei, he saw his life flash before his eyes. Seeing all that he has done in his life, from playing with his childhood friend, to meeting his two best friends and to seeing the look on his friends faces when they had to tell him that they were leaving. He saw all of this and more and he realized that there was a lot that he still wanted to do, he wasn't ready to die yet. System calibration. Issei thought that he was going crazy, hearing voices in his head. Calibrating. As the man was walking closer and closer to Issei, his fear grew more and more. Calibrating. Issei was frozen with fear and the want to live, as the man stopped right in front of Issei he raised his hand to kill him and swung with all his strength. Calibration complete.
Looking round issei thought that he would be dead but to his surprise everything was still. " what in the world is going on." said issei looking at the claw three inches from his neck. Moving away from the claw issei noticed the pain in his back was gone. Getting up issei looked around to see everything standing still. " what the…'' said before being interrupted.

Basic info: this sacred gear is named player world. This sacred gear gives the user the ability to turn their life into that of a video game, allowing you to level up and to become stronger over time. Gives you abilities and skills that other beings wouldn't believe exist. With this sacred gear it gives access to some of the strongest weapons and tools in the universe but you must find and earn them.
gifts/rewards: as you complete quests and adventures you will receive rewards, and you will receive gifts for achievements and milestones throughout your adventures. Rewards and gifts can come in multiple forms from weapons and armor to skills and magic, and even random surprises.
enemies/boss: in the world the ones you fight are your enemy and when they are defeated you gain exp and can sometimes drop loot, but bosses are stronger than your normal enemies. They are meant to be a final challenge of an area and they normally give the most exp and the best loot.

" Wait what?" asked Issei in concern after what he just heard.
Quest alert: defeat the stray devil and survive.
Prerequisite: have a weapon. Choose a weapon from your options.
Issei saw a window pop up in front of him with multiple different weapons to choose from. From bows and arrows, maces, axes, to swords and shields.
Issei took a second to think what he liked and made a choice. Choosing a one handed short sword, it looked like an old roman gladius. Selecting the weapon the window closed and the sword materialized in his hand. Issei was amazed at the weapon just coming out of nowhere, feeling its weight in his hand and giving it a couple test swings. Once he was done testing the weapon he realized that out of everything that has happened he is not scared, he's not worried, he's not even that weirded out about everything.
'Once I get a chance I need to find out why I am acting this way. But for now I think it's time to fight.' thought issei, as he readies himself for combat.
Prerequisite met. Time resuming to begin battle.
Time started to move once again around him. The stray devil was not expecting his prey to disappear, meaning he slashed the air. Turning to his side he sees his prey standing with no fear, no injury and a weapon. Normally an opponent would wonder how someone just vanished and reappeared with no injury even though they had one before, and a weapon that they couldn't just hide on their body. But the stray devil was too far into madness to even think of anything but the desire to kill.
With a roar the stray devil got ready to fight with a floating tag above his head (stray devil lv.3). Charging head first towards issei with his claws ready to strike, issei prepared himself to fight for his life.
Ducking under the attack, issei swung his gladius at the stray but missed as he was going too fast. Turning around to face the stray, issei wasn't ready to see him already charging at him again. Not being ready issei took the hit from the stray but got lucky cause the stray hit him on the same side as his gladius which blocked some of the damage but not all of it, getting cut on his side issei saw the cut but not a lot of blood came out of his wound. Noticing the bar in his peripheral vision, issei saw that the small attack he took dealt a noticeable amount of damage, (health 80/100). ' I blocked the majority of the attack but it still did that much damage.' thought issei, realizing that if he takes one of those attacks head on he would die.
Turning to see the stray issei was ready for him to charge, ducking to the side, issei sliced the stray as he went by dealing a good amount of damage to the stray, which also caused him to bleed, dealing continuous damage. Seeing the rage grow in the stray eyes, issei knew that he would do something careless and he was hoping for that. With the stray extending his wings and charging at high speeds, the stray wasn't ready for issei to take a step to the side and hold his gladius up just high enough to hit the strays wing, but because of the speed it made the damage even greater cutting the wing right off the stray devil.
The stray slammed into the ground after losing a wing, and issei was trying to get off the ground after the attack he did which caused him to fall to the ground from the force. Getting up issei saw the stray getting himself more pissed then he was before. Running at issei the stray jumped in the air to land on issei once he was close to him. Rolling out of the way issei lunged toward the stray with his gladius pointed right at the strays chest, but was blocked by a set of claws as the other set were heading straight at issei. Seeing the attack coming, issei was going to have a hard time dodging the attack because of the lunge he just did but luckily for him, he could grab some of the spikes coming from the stray. Grabbing one of the spikes he pulled himself to the side dodging the attack and slicing the back of the strays hand that was blocking the gladius.
Making it behind the stray issei stabbed the stray right in the back getting a roar out of him before being sent flying by a strong back hand. Landing on the ground, hard issei coughed up some blood. Looking at his health (40/100) issei realized he would have to end this soon because he won't be able to last much longer. Seeing the stray pulling the gladius out of his back and throwing it to the side, issei knew he needed to get his weapon back if he wanted to win this fight, but from the looks of it the stray devil wasn't looking so good. It seemed that most of his strength was gone and that he was staggering from blood loss. Seeing a chance issei ran to his gladius, the stray ran to him meeting him half way and tried to slash him. Issei, being able to see the sluggish attack, rolled under the swing and grabbed his gladius kneeling on the ground. The stray turned and tried to stab issei but missed getting his claws stuck in the ground.
Seeing the opportunity issei sliced down on the strays arm as hard as he could before he could pull it out, severing the arm from the stray who at this point was on his last legs and was about out of steam. Issei seeing that the stray devil was about done he charged the stray devil and avoided one last desperate attack, stabbing the stray right through the throat. Issei looked at the eyes of the stray devil as life slowly left them, but he wasn't expecting to have a clawed hand stab him in the side. Looking over issei saw that with the last of the stray devils life he had stabbed issei in the side.
Stepping back, Issei held his side, dropping his gladius as the stray devil fell to the ground lifeless. But issei was also on the ground holding his side watching his health wither away (10/100)(9/100)(8/100). Hearing a chime of some kind issei closed his eyes passing out from the pain with the last thing he saw was his health (health 1/100).
Beep….beep…..beep. Wake up sleepy head or I'm going to kiss you. wake ….
The alarm was turned off by issei in a semi conscious state, that was until he realized he was awake. ' what the hell. Was it all a dream? But it felt so real, like it was actually happening.' thought issei as he looked at his body not seeing any scars. He took a breath thinking it was a dream until he released his breath and looked in front of him only to see a window that said congratulations. Quest complete. Player sent to last save point after passing out
Issei took a sec to compose himself before doing anything. Contemplating on the fact that he didn't dream of the fight or the weird windows and voices, it actually happened. Half way through his contemplation issei realized that what ever made him calm the other night, was no longer there. After getting his mind together, Issei looked back at the window, and tried to push the continue button but his hand went right through it. ' what how am i supposed to use this, how did i choose the gladius last night. Lets see I looked at it and thought I wanted it.' thought issei, looking at the continue sign and thought of selecting it.

Looking at the screen issei saw his stats which for a human was rather normal, but there were a couple things that he noticed. One being that his sacred gear was partially sealed, and something else was sealed. Looking at some of his icons, issei saw that more info could be seen about the different tabs on the screen.
Focusing on the sacred gear a screen appeared. Sacred gear partial seal removal. Would you like to fully remove the seal and materialize sacred gear y or n.
Issei had many thoughts but one that had him really concerned is if he should keep this sacred gear or if he should just go back to being a normal teenager. So far all he knows is that there is more out there then what he knows, but he doesn't know how he fits into this new world. But one last thought crossed his mind, the thought of protecting his family from whatever evil that could be out there. Making up his mind issei knew that this power was the right thing to keep and us.

With a flash of green light a green european style knight gauntlet on his right arm appeared. Issei was surprised to see a gauntlet on his arm but for some reason it just felt right for it to be there. Feeling the power coming from the sacred gear.

Looking at his stats he saw that he had some more skills, and that his stats had gone up. Looking at his stat points he was thinking of how he would use them. The inner gamer told him to hold on to them for the time being, listening to his gamer knowledge and moving to his magic, seeing that he had none but that it could be extended.
Focusing on it a new window opened showing him that he had no magic but by opening it he could see his magic affinities. ' i guess that means that i can use other magic but these would be stronger in my hands then others.' thought issei, seeing that he had two normal affinities and a third gifted to him for having the boosted gear. Issei had the magic affinities for lighting and air magic with fire magic from the boosted gear. 'Must be because of it being dragon-like.' thought about closing the window.

Lesser dragonic aura(lv.1) passive: dragons are some of the strongest beings and they are known for their aura. Naturally causes small prey to fear you, and increases natural strengths and vitality by 2 points per level. Increase level gain for dragon based skills, spells, and equipment.

'Not much but for just starting I shouldn't be surprised.' thought issei as he read over his skills thinking of ways to level the skills he could and thinking how he could get more. Closing the window he saw the tabs at the bottom and saw that rewards had a notification. Opening the tab issei saw two rewards.

Looking at the two issei thought he would have gotten them after finishing the quest but they went to the tab when he passed out. Looking at the two issei excepted the tutorial quest first.

Skill wheel: dragons hide (lv.1): when used causes the user to grow dragon-like scales on their body increasing their physical resistance. 15 mp per cast, 5 per minute to keep up.
Equipment wheel: fire resistant cloak: a red cloak with black insides can shrug off light heat and fire.
'Well guess, that's one way to get more skills, and the clock actually looks kinda cool.' thought issei, selecting the reward for the next quest.

' Well I will take the gold and the leather, but I have no idea what I would use the leather for, and how much is the gold worth compared to normal money.' were some of the thoughts going through issei's head. Closing the reward window, issei looked at his inventory seeing his gladius and the leather and gold. He saw the crafting system was locked, and then checked the quest book seeing he had no quest right now, then the shop seeing that he could get armor, weapon, items, and even spells but he would need more gold then what he had.
Finally was his skill tree, opening its window issei saw a massive skill tree with a lot of the skills darkened out to where he couldn't see them. The only ones he could see were the first three skills unlocked to him. Those being the skills sprint, stealth, and jump. Which all cost one skill point. Looking at the corner of the window he saw that he had one skill point for leveling up.
Reading over the skills he could get, issei was at a split in the road cause all three of the skills were handy. Sprint increased his speed, stealth made him harder to find, and jump increased his jump height and distance. Thinking to himself about which skill would be more useful at the beginning, but after about 5 mins of thinking he made no headway. So he did the one thing that he swore he would never do for a game. He left it up to chance and when he was done letting lady luck guide his chances, he had a new skill.

'Well guess this is the skill I am stuck with now, but in all honesty this works.' thought issei closing the window. Thinking that there was nothing left to check when he remembered that he wanted more info on the two sacred gears. Looking at the sacred gears he opened an info window about the player's world to see what he could learn about it. When the window opened he saw an info box talking about the sacred gear but the thing that caught his eye was the tree diagram with one colored box.
Players world: the sacred gear that gave birth to modern games and games throughout time. Created by god, this sacred gear falls under the category of longinus type sacred gear. Players world grants the user the ability to live their life like a video game, increasing their level to become more and more powerful as time went on, allowing the users to have incredible abilities ranging from ungodly strength and speed, to summoning an army of defeated soldiers. This sacred gear is one of, if not the most powerful sacred gear in the world. But the power of the sacred gear is dependent on the user, for they can be as weak or strong as they make themselves.
Players world upgrade tree: this sacred gear can grow and change based on the user. Giving free rain to how the sacred gear evolves and looks based on the upgrade choices of the user. After leveling up the sacred gear it can be upgraded to its next stage. After every level up 2 tree points are added that can be used to add enhancements to the sacred gear.
Current sacred gear state: players gauntlet(lv.1): when used causes a knight-like green gauntlet to appear on the user's right arm, giving the area covered armor. To activate/deactivate simply think of the sacred gear appearing and disappearing.
Looking at the green gauntlet on his arm, issei was surprised to know that it could change and become even stronger, and that he would be able to add stuff to it at the next level once he gained more exp.
Closing the window issei did the same thing for the boosted gear, but instead of seeing an upgrade tree, all he saw was a progression tree. ' so i guess i can't upgrade you, but i guess if i could do that it would be too much power, and could damage the existing abilities of you. Given you are a different sacred gear.' thought issei reading the info on the sacred gear.
Boosted gear: this mid-tier longinus sacred gear is known as the boosted gear or the red dragon emperor's gauntlet. Made with the trapped soul of the red dragon emperor d-draig. This sacred gear grants the user the abilities to double their abilities. The sacred gear starts as a small glove before becoming the red dragon's gauntlet.
Boosted gear progression tree: this sacred gear grows and becomes stronger with the user. Unlocking more power from the sacred gear as time passes, and gaining the abilities of the red dragon emperor. Can not be upgraded, can only unlock forms normal to the sacred gear.
Current sacred gear state: twice critical(lv.1): a small dragonic looking glove that covers the top of the hand with a green jewel in the middle with two golden spikes coming out the back. grants the user the boost ability every 10 seconds. Will in this stage boost limit is 3 boosts, once limit is met a timer starts counting down to when the boosts end. Provides armor to the covered areas.
'So this holds the soul of a dragon, and if I am right, if my limit of boost goes up I could become infinitely stronger. That by itself is broken, but put that with the player's world and I am basically untouchable. Well not at the moment but once I level up some I can beat just about anyone.' thought issei closing all the windows and getting out of his room to start the day.
Couple hours earlier, at the park
In the same park that issei had his fight in, a red magic circle appeared on the ground, and in a flash of red light four people could be seen standing where the circle was. The people to appear were rias gremory and her peerage of akeno himejima, yuuto kiba, and koneko toujou. These four were devils and one of two groups of devils that reside and protect the town of kuoh.
"This is the place you felt the increase of energy, right akeno?" asked Rias, looking around not seeing anything out of the ordinary.
" Yes buchou, this is the location where I felt the magic spike." said akeno looking around with Rias, who was confused as to why they couldn't find anything.
"Buchou, i think koneko found something." said kiba pointing to koneko who was walking to an opening in the park.
Walking over to where koneko was looking, all the devils saw the dead and mutilated body of the stray devil laying on the ground. Walking to the stray they saw that the stray had his arm cut off, along with one of his wings, and all the cuts and stab wounds on his body. " kiba, these look like cut marks made with a sword. Would I be right in thinking this?" asked Rias to her knight kiba.
Kiba looked at the cuts and stabs and how the wounds were caused. " Yes, you would be correct, buchou. These wounds were caused by a blade. Based on the cut depth, the angle of the slice, and the control of the cut. I would say the person that did this has never held a blade in their life, but based on the severed arm and the killing wound this person was stronger than a normal human should be." said kiba with interest at the shape of the stab wound.
" Wait, what do you mean by stronger than a human should be? How can you know that based on this?" asked akeno, confused at how kiba would know this.
" The arm was cut off in one slice, even if this stray devil was weak it would still take at least 3 to 4 slices from a normal human to cut through devil skin, muscle, and bone. But what interests me is this stab wound." said kiba.
" What about the wound has interest in you kiba?" asked rias.
" Well most blades have a standard cut edge and design to them. But based on these cuts and stabs it means a couple things. One being that whatever blade did this was a double edged blade, two it was a short sword most likely a one handed short sword. So based on these identifiers it lowers the list of possible weapons used which could make it easier for us to find the one that did this." explained kiba.
Rias was thinking about the possibility of finding this person and having a conversation with them, she was thinking that the person could be a sacred gear user, which would be one of the only ways for a normal human to survive and kill a stray devil.
" Tho it seems that whoever did this did not get away unscathed." said kiba holding the still attached arm of the stray devil with blood still on his claws.
All the devils looked at the blood on the claws and they all knew that a wound that great would take a lot of magic to heal even for a devil. But they all had the thought that the person survived given that there was not another body or path of blood.
"Koneko can you see if you can smell the person based on their blood, if not you can at least remember the smell if you ever run into the person" asked Rias to koneko, who walked over and smelled the blood seeing if she could put up anything.
After about a minute koneko looked at rias. " I can't smell anyone here, but based on the smell it is male and has some weird magic in its blood, but there is one extra thing about the smell that you should know." said koneko looking at Rias, who signaled her to continue.
"It smells like a dragon." said koneko, getting a shocked face from everyone there.
" a person that smells like a dragon. Could it be a dragon type sacred gear user?" asked akeno.
" It is possible but we haven't sensed a sacred gear awaken or sensed a person with a sacred gear with a dragon in it yet." said rias.
" don't forget buchou that the next year's class is starting soon and they are making it co ed now, so it could be one of the new years." said akeno looking at rias.
With a nod Rias used her magic to get rid of the body and all four of them disappeared in a red light. Going back to their club room to discuss this more and for Rias to tell sona about the stray devil and the possible sacred gear user.
Back with issei. Present.
After cleaning himself off and having breakfast with his parents, issei was asked by his mother to go get some groceries for her. He was about to tell her that he can go and get them for her, when he got a quest notification.
A quest has been given.

Issei had a small smile on his face, as he now knew how to get quests and that they could easily be done to gain exp quickly. ' I wonder if I can make myself a quest like training, or daily quests.' thought issei hearing a notification again.

Seeing the daily quest pop up made issei facepalm, and then once he read the punishment for not doing the daily quest made issei determined to never miss a daily quest. Grabbing his jacket and putting his shoes on, Issei made his way to the store to get one of his two quests done.
After making his way back home from the store, issei had the idea to use his observation skill to try and level it up and to see how it worked. Looking around him issei used to observe as many things as he could before running out of mana. After observing 15 different things the skill leveled up.

Seeing that it leveled up twice made issei happy to see that the skill didn't take that much to level it at its early stage. He wondered if the other skills he had would do the same or have different stage progressions.
Making it back to his house he put the groceries he bought on the counter and told his mother, who told him to just leave them out so she can use them to make dinner. Leaving the groceries on the counter. Issei started to walk outside to do his daily quest when he got a notification.

'Sweet, I am so used to helping mom that I forgot that it was a quest for a sec there.' thought issei. Making his way outside issei got ready for his run, opening the window to see how far he has to run again. But he was surprised to see that his run distance already had distance on it, but remembered that he had to walk about 2 miles to the store and back. ' guess that makes my life a little easier.' thought issei running with the quest window open.
After running for about 8 miles issei was dead tired for he had never ran that far for that long in his whole life. Looking over at the window once he had laid on the ground in the park he ran to, he saw that his run distance was full.

Catching his breath issei got to doing the other two workouts doing them in sets of 20 will taking breaks in between so not to tire himself out more than he already is. He did this for about an hour given that he was very tired by the time he made it to the last. Pushing out the last push up issei collapsed to the ground huffing and panting. Looking up to the sky, issei got the notification that he finished the daily quest.

Issei was happy that all the exhaustion he had and the pain he felt went away, but he was more interested in the dungeon key he had now. ' So this is a key to a dungeon, does that mean that I can go through dungeons and other kinds of outposts?' thought issei, opening the info window that was on the key.

Seeing that he now had an easy way to gain exp issei went back to his house to clean himself up and to grab some lunch, finishing his food he told his parents that he would be going out for a little and that he would be back before dinner. Walking out of his house, issei made his way to the woods to look for a cave but once he made it to the tree line a green path appeared on the ground leading into the woods.
'I guess this is the sacred gear's way of helping me find a cave. Thank you players world.' thought issei, surprised to hear a notification sound. Pulling up the notification issei's jaw dropped.
Gift to the player:

' ok now i know for a fact that this sacred gear has something living in it. But I will take it. I mean so far the sacred gear seems to like me and it has helped me this far. So guess it is a helper.' thought issei accepting the gift.
Walking through the woods following the green path, issei made his way to a cave in the woods when the green path in front of him disappeared, and a blue transparent wall appeared with a message on it.

'Well that bonus is interesting, but not knowing the tasks makes it harder to do. But that gold and tree point sounds good to me. That reminds me I never looked at the upgrade tree.' thought issei, pulling up the upgrade tree window to see what he had so far.
Opening the window issei saw that his upgrade tree was a lot bigger than he thought, seeing that he had six different enhancements he could choose from that had more connected to them, he also saw that he had two tree points at the moment and the six stage 1 enhancements each cost one tree point. Issei knew that going into this dungeon that was three levels higher than him, he would need some help. So he read about the six enhancements and tried to make a choice.
Upgrade tree: enhancements.
Stage 1: advance learning (10% exp boost), emerald blade(a blade protruding from the top of the arm, can be upgraded), emerald shield( a shield made of the sacred gear on the arm), scavenger( increase loot drops), armor shift ( move the sacred gear armor to any part of the body), crafting kit (unlocks crafting menu).
As soon as Issei saw his enhancements he had a mental breakdown, mainly because he could decide on what enhancement to get given that all of them were useful in some form. But the advanced learning and scavenger were a gamers dream to have. But he needs something that can help him in the dungeon. Sitting there for about five minutes, issei came to a conclusion. He would get one that can help him in the dungeon and the other would be one of the two gamers dream enhancements. But now the hard part was picking the enhancements to get, lucky for him, issei already knew which gamers dream enhancement he would pick.

'Alright now time to decide which enhancement to get that would give me the best chance in the dungeon. But they all have their advantages. No, let's do this like a gamer, look at the options and remove the worst option.' thought issei as he looked at the remaining enhancements. Choosing to not get a crafting kit mainly because he doesn't have anything to craft yet. Leaving three left but soon to be two cause issei decided not to use the armor shift given he hasn't used the armor of his sacred gear yet and doesn't know how well it works just yet. Leaving the emerald blade and shield, both can be used in this dungeon. One is a weapon that can be taken from him and can get stronger, but the same is the same for a protective cover that can grow in defense. After another couple minutes of thinking issei picked the emerald blade mainly because issei was a big fan of dual wielding, but also because issei didn't want to have to deal with learning shield use and combat. A blade is easier to use given he has one already.
Enhancement chosen=skill: emerald blade(lv.1): a green blade deployed from the top of the sacred gear. A straight double edged blade about 12 inches long from tip to knuckles. The blade has the strength of iron.
After getting the two enhancements, issei saw a new box added to his stat window with a tree skill section added to his stat page. Excited to know he is getting stronger, issei readied himself to go into the dungeon. Making sure he equipped the gladius to his person, but chose to not put his cloak on given he didn't think anything in the dungeon would do fire damage. Putting the key into the wall, issei turned the key and the wall disappeared and he walked in getting a message telling him that he had entered the dungeon and that he can't leave until he defects to the boss of the dungeon.
Walking deeper into the cave, Issei keeped looking around trying to see if he could find any enemies, but nothing came into his sight. Making it to a small dome-shaped area of the cave with a hole in the ceiling that let light in, issei could hear a low growl coming from the other end of the room. Walking into the lighted area was an all white wolf snarling at issei. Issei saw the wolf and saw the name and level above its head (white beta)(lv.3). Seeing the wolf issei drew his gladius and prepared himself to fight.
Ready to fight, Issei saw the wolf charge him with its jaws ready to clamp down on him. Dodging the wolf issei tried to strike out with the gladius but the wolf was faster than he thought. Turning to see the wolf already charging at him, Issei did his best to block the jaws of the wolf with his gladius. Ending up with the gladius stuck in between the jaws of the wolf, holding its jaw open. Issei was pushed to the ground by the wolf who was clawing at him with its paws but not being about to get issei's chest causing no damage to be taken. But issei couldn't just stay on the ground and the wolf didn't seem to want to stop trying to bite or claw him.
Switching the gladius to his left hand, issei summoned his player gauntlet and activated an emerald blade stabbing the blade into the wolf's side causing the wolf to back away from him allowing him to get to his feet. Issei readied himself for round two of the fight with his gladius in his left hand and the emerald blade ready on his right hand. The wolf paced side to side waiting to find an opening to strike, it finally lunged when it saw issei take a step forward. Issei was hoping that the wolf would lunge at his fake step, and once it did issei stepped to the side stabbing down with his gladius hitting the wolf in the shoulder, and before the wolf could even react issei plunged the emerald blade into the side of the wolf once again, but this time not letting the wolf get away by holding it down with his strength and blades. The wolf struggled for a while until it succumbed to its wounds and its bleeding.
Removing his blades from the wolf's body, issei caught his breath seeing the first enemy of the dungeon in front of him. He was about to walk to the next area when a window popped up in front of him asking him if he wanted to loot the body. With the speed of a god and the excitement of a child, Issei slammed the yes button.

Issei was a little less happy seeing that he only got basic drops but was excited to know that he can get guaranteed loot from enemies he has defeated. It also was a good idea to hold onto the items he gets to see if he can use them to craft anything once he gets the crafting kit.
Looking down at his right arm seeing the green blade from his sacred gear, issei smiled knowing that he made the right choice when he picked the emerald blade over the shield. Continuing his track through the dungeon, issei came to a bigger opening. Issei looked at the open area and had a bad feeling, a gamer normally can tell when a challenge or when they are about to fight a boss, and in that moment issei knew that something was about to happen.
Walking into the area issei could hear the snarling of a white beta, but he wasn't ready to see five of them come from the darkness. " oh you have got to be fucking kidding me" yelled out issei as he realized that this was not going to be a walk in the park, but he was smiling knowing this is the life of a gamer. To fight hard battles to become stronger until the first hard fight looked as easy as turning a computer on or off. These were the fights that became the stepping stones to the path a gamer will take to the top.
Getting into a stance issei looked to the wolves with determination and courage. The wolves saw the willingness to fight in the creature in front of them and charged him. Seeing the charging wolves, Issei made the decision to fight with all his abilities. Yelling out, issei said dragons hide, activating the skill and causing dragon-like scales to grow on his body increasing his natural defense. Ready to fight issei charged the wolves, meeting them in the middle jumping forward blades first at the middle wolf stabbing into the chest of the wolf and sending him and the wolf to the ground. Once they landed the wolf tried to get up but issei wasn't going to have that and ripped his blades from the wolf making massive wounds and killing it instantly.
Turning around issei wasn't ready to have a wolf tackle him and bite his shoulder, but instead of a massive amount of pain he only felt a small poke as his scales had blocked most of the bite but not all of it, seeing that his health did go down. But issei saw the other three wolves making their way to him, not wanting to see if his scales can handle that much abuse. Using his gladius he sliced the back leg of the wolf causing it to howl in pain before being silenced by a blade through the mouth and brain courtesy of the emerald blade. Quickly getting to his feet, issei grabbed the body of the wolf and threw it at the wolves causing one of them to trip up and tumble.
Swinging his blades missing the wolves but keeping them at bay while surrounding him. Not seeing an opening issei had to think of a way out, but remembered that he had magic. Feeling the electricity flow through him, issei released his one and only spell static. With a smile Issei saw the wolves freeze up as the muscles were shocked and he could tell that it was starting to really hurt them. Walking over to one of the wolves, Issei stabbed the wolf and killed it. Turning to the other wolves he saw one had muscles his way up and charged him, but in its state of pain it jumped too high and issei took the chance and sliced the wolf from neck to tail as it went by.
Seeing that he only had one wolf left, issei turned off his magic and his dragonhide planning on saving his mana for the rest of the dungeon. Walking to the last wolf who was backing into a corner in fear. Going into a submissive posture as most creatures do when their alpha stands before them. Thinking to himself he thought it was his dragonic aura causing the wolf to cower in fear given that it does make him appear to other creatures as an apex predator. When he was only a couple steps away the wolf lunged out in a last ditch effort to kill issei, but issei stepped to the side and decapitated the wolf, leaving the area silent with only the sound of his breathing filling the room. Looking to the screens that he had moved to the side mid-way into the fight, issei saw that he had some messages.

Seeing his rewards and the level ups, issei smiled seeing that he could become stronger and that the hard work he put in is paying off and that he can do what he wants. Issei thought of himself as an average guy not fully confident in himself but not downing himself, but now he knew he could be more and that he can be better. Opening his stat window to see his new stats, and to say that he was surprised to see his stat was an understatement. For only leveling up twice he had a lot that he could do.

Looking at the stat window, issei saw that his health regan was already healing him slowly, but his health had jumped a lot after only four stat points causing him to praise the dragonic aura skill for the extra stat increases after every level up. But looking at his intelligence, he was a little disappointed that it did not increase with the rest of the stat minus luck, given that luck is a tricky thing and can change the effect of a battle simply based on the chances of something happening. But intelligence was something that he needed, not only for the increase in mana but also the increase in his knowledge naturally.
Seeing that he would have to sit down and look over everything that he got, issei decided to close the windows and went on to the next area in the dungeon. Walking for a little distance issei saw that his health had recovered to full and his mana was slowly filling back up. Seeing a light coming from the room up ahead issei got the feeling of something. Walking a little more issei saw a massive room with torches and two big rises overlooking the lower open ground area. Getting the feeling that this was the boss' area, Issei looked around before entering the area to see if he could see anything but couldnt see anything outside of what was already there. Walking into the area issei looked up at the rises to see two big wolves walk up to them. Red alpha (lv.6), blue omega (lv.6).
'Holy shit, those are probably the biggest fucking wolfs i have ever seen. Thought issei as he saw the massive canines. Issei doesn't normally swear that much but after seeing two wolves the size of volkswagen beetles, he was pretty sure that it was ok to swear then.
Seeing their prey, the two wolves jumped down into the lower ground and began to growl at issei, who was almost shitting himself from the strength that he could feel coming from the wolves. But with a deep breath Issei readied himself to fight, brandishing his two blades causing the wolves to brandish their teeth and charge. Activating his dragons hide and charging at the wolves. All three charging they were about to meet in the middle, but then issei disappeared from the wolves sight only to appear to the side of them by activating sprint.
With sprint active and his increase in endurance stat, issei could move at inhuman speeds looking like a blur. Surprising the wolf's issei lunged in and impaled the blue omega in its side, issei thought it was going good until he was pulled by the wolf thrashing around like crazy and as it was thrashing the red alpha jumped at issei who barely saw the wolf coming. Deactivating his emerald blade and letting go of his gladius, moved out of the way from the wolf. Sliding on the ground, Issei looked up and saw the wolves coming at him. Using his magic issei cast static to try and at least slow the wolves down which did happen but not to the point that issei wanted. The wolves were still running at him with incredible speed, issei needed to do something fast given that his mana was dropping fast but lucky for him he still had full health.
'Guess i am getting good at dodging attacks but then again the only thing keeping me from getting hit is my sprint skill, and once my mana runs out i am fucked.' thought issei as he dodged the wolves attacks, and tried to think of something to get his gladius back. Not seeing any way to get his weapon back, Issei grinned and with a flourish of his left hand activated his other sacred gear. With a loud booming voice the sacred gear yelled out boost, feeling the outstanding amount of power that now flowed through him, issei moved to the red alpha who lunged at issei with its jaws open to bite him but was stopped dead in its track by issei grabbing the upper and lower jaws of the red alpha holding them open and holding the wolf in place. Hearing the blue omega coming, issei used his increased strength and swung the red alpha, hitting the blue omega to the side and causing a lot of damage to the two wolves. Swinging the red alpha more slamming it into the ground over and over till it stopped moving, throwing the limp body to the side. Boost, feeling the second boost hit him issei charged the blue omega who was slowly getting up until issei got closer to it feeling static hit it. Before the wolf could get up, Issei jumped onto its back and began to choke the wolf by wrapping his arms around its neck.
With a few weak thrashes the blue omega howled in pain one last time before having its neck snapped and its airway collapsed. Laying on the ground lifeless the blue omega was dead. Issei deactivated his magic and skills before his mana ran out and deactivated his boosted gear in its twice critical state, and grabbed his gladius from the side of the dead wolf. Moving a short distance issei stopped and looked at the two wolves getting a bad feeling. ' i should have gotten a post battle info screen and a message telling me the boss was defeated. But nothing, which means….' issei's thoughts were cut off by a roar that shook him to his bones and put the fear of god in him. Turning around and looking at the creature that made that roar only to freeze in fear.
Standing on the rise of the red alpha was a massive black werewolf creature with bright red eyes. True alpha (lv.8). Jumping down the werewolf landed on all fours and snarling at him, and as it raised to itself to its full height its claws scratch the ground causing sparks to appear. The werewolf slowly walked to issei like a monster toying with its prey. Issei was trying to think of a plan, looking at his mana he was not happy seeing that he only had about 30 mana left. Looking at his gladius, issei knew that the claws of the werewolf were just as sharp if not sharper than his blade, same goes for his emerald blade.
Measuring the resource he has at his disposal, issei came up with a plan but it was a one and done cause if this doesnt work then issei is dead. So with a hard swallow of his fear, issei stepped forward towards the true alpha activating his twice critical. Boost, feeling the power issei knew he would need more to win. Seeing that the werewolf could feel the rise in his power. Knowing that he would need every second to get to max power, Issei prayed his idea would work. Willing his skill to work issei force lesser dragonic aura to work overtime to project an image or sense of an apex predator to the werewolf causing it to be defensive even if only for a couple seconds.
Seeing the werewolf drop down to all fours ready to charge issei last hope was on his skill and to his happy surprise it worked, the werewolf could feel the presence of another apex predator and could tell it was issei. So the werewolf went from a predator hunting prey, to a predator protecting its home from another predator. This slight change in action gave issei enough time to get that much closer to his limit. Boost, feeling the next boost hit him issei now was the time cause he had ten seconds till the last boost would hit and the werewolf had already started to charge feeling the second boost. Activating his sprint skill, and his magic static, issei ran full force at the werewolf holding his gladius in his left hand and deploying his emerald blade on the other hand.
The second his boost activated issei started counting so he knew when his next boost was going to activate but by the time he got to two the werewolf was on him. Swinging his gladius at the werewolf he noticed the side of the creature, he would have gotten a better cut but he had to dodge the massive claws of the werewolf. Sliding past him, issei could see the muscles of the werewolf spasm from his magic but it's not enough to stop the beast or even slow it down but it is still damaged. Lunging at the werewolf, issei sliced the beast on the back but was backhanded by the creature. Landing on the ground issei could feel the bruise forming. Getting back to his feet issei was immediately on the defensive, until a big claw came straight at him and to issei's horror when he tried to block with his gladius it shattered and a claw dug into his shoulder before being thrown.
As he hit the ground again issei felt the pain, but in a shining light of hope he felt and heard what he was waiting for, boost. Feeling the increase in power, issei got to his feet and faced the werewolf who was squaring up to him. Before charging issei deactivated his magic and used his last mana to keep up his sprint skill. So with the last of his mana, issei made a mad dash to the creature who was also charging him on all fours. Making it within feet of each other issei saw the werewolf jump like he was going to tackle him but issei lowered himself sliding on the ground and holding his emerald blade up to slice along the chest of the werewolf.
Digging his feet in to stop himself, Issei pushed off the ground to get the jump on the wounded beast. Making it to the werewolf as it turned around, issei plunged his emerald blade into the creature's leg. With a howl of pain the werewolf lashed out and sliced at the blade embedded in its leg cutting it in half leaving half the blade in its leg and the other attached to issei's arm. With bestial furry in its eyes the werewolf roared out in rage by the pain, the true alpha started to swing wildly at issei who for a second was thinking he just lost both of his weapons. Issei was angry and was running out of time, so with all his strength dodged the attack and punched the true alpha as hard as he could in the shoulder dislocating it and pushing the true alpha back. Charging at the weakened creature issei didn't pay attention to his mana or health, but that he just wanted to win. Making it to the true alpha issei saw it try to get up, grabbing its other arm before it could get to its feet, and issei pulled on its arm till it was also dislocated. Feeling his sprint skill turn off and feeling his body ready to give out, issei was ready to end this. Grabbing the true alphas head and a quick twist, issei snapped its neck and just for safe measure broke its jaw by stomping it.
With a heavy breath Issei put his twice critical and players gauntlet away and took steps away from the boss and sat on the ground to catch his breath, and to relax his muscles. Once he had his breath back issei looked at his health and mana, seeing that his mana was at zero and that his health was at 150/550 surprising issei seeing that he had been too close to death once again. ' Alright now I am done, I have nothing left.' thought issei.

Seeing the massive screen, issei knew he would have to look over all his tires and skills to see the increases but at the moment issei was interested in his new items and equipment. Knowing that his gladius just broke he was happy to see a needed weapon he can use. Issei was also excited to see what the runes did alongside what the grimoire did, but the thing that was interesting to him the most was the skill book and the black box he got from his scavenger skill.
Opening his inventory issei grabbed the first thing that was added. Pulling out the black box, issei pulled on the top of the box opening it to see what was in it. Once the top was removed it was as if the darkness inside the box came to life and made its way onto issei like a second layer of skin growing on his body. Dropping the box issei started to freak out from the darkness covering his body. By the time the box hit the ground the darkness had spread around his body and solidified into a jet black material that resembles fur and leather that covered his entire body other than his head which had nothing on it but there is a hood on the back.
Looking at his new armor, Issei could feel that it was doing something, and he could feel the safety that it provided even if it looked like it was just leather and fur. Feeling the armor, and to issei's surprise it felt like a second skin and didnt feel heavy at all. Being interested in what the armor could do, issei opened the window to see the armor stats.

Natural hide: armor is a lot tougher than it looks. With the durability of a werewolves body this armor has the durability of steel.
Shadow silhouette: when the hood is pulled up the face is concealed in the shadows only showing the red eyes of a predator. With the hood up the shadow hides the face of the wearer but shows the face of the wears inner beast.
Shadows ally: friends come and go, but your shadow is always by your side. What if your shadow would fight by your side. With the command word your shadow comes to life and takes on the form closest to your level and will fight with you. The shadow can regenerate but it costs you mana. Command word: arise
Seeing the new armor issei was ecstatic to see that he now had something to use as armor and it came with useful abilities. This armor could both hide who he is and provide an advantage to his future fight, especially with the shadows ally ability. But issei had one problem on his hands, how does it come off and if it doesn't come off then how does he hide it from his parents and others of this new world. Once issei thought that the armor turned misty and slipped into his shadow and the darkness of his clothes. 'Well that works.' thought issei.
Looking to his next item issei pulled out the thunder gods sword: storm ruler. ' i was never one to practice sword play but i think with this blade i will have to. But with this and my lightning affinity, it is almost like I am a force of nature.' thought issei holding the storm ruler.
Thunder gods sword: storm ruler class: A
This katana is a unique weapon forged by a god of lighting and thunder, imbued with the roars of a thunderstorm. Like the lighting that comes from storms this blade has a unique attribute to it, when held in one hand the blade is a katana but when held in two hands it changes size to a two handed nodachi. The blade is silver with a yellow blade edge on a orenate handle raped in a yellow strap fiber, with yellow static lighting coming from the blade constantly.
Weapon skills:
Thunder god's blessing: all thunder and lighting magic is boosted in potency as the weapon is wielded.
Lord of lighting: with the call of the storms send a lighting strike to your enemies. Input mana into the blade to build up a charge and send the strike to an enemy in front of you in an arc of lighting. 20 mana per cast.
Lighting blade: sheath the blade and charge of the energy of the blade and in a flash of light at the speed of lighting cut your enemies down. Number of strikes is based on your endurance.
Issei was loving his new weapon, and once he put the sheath on his side the shadow beast armor mixed with it and it was now part of the armor so it appears and disappears at will. He was about to check more of his stuff but got a call from his mother telling him that dinner will be made soon. Issei's stomach grumbled and he closed the windows and made his way back home leaving the cave. Minutes after leaving the cave a red magic circle appeared.
