~October 12~

It was Emily's birthday, and she didn't know that the team had something planned for her at work. JJ distracted her by saying that she needed to run to the coffee shop and get coffee and breakfast. Since Emily didn't have a new car yet, she had no choice but to go. Emily was also getting coffee and breakfast out of it, so she didn't mind. Since it was really busy, they didn't get their food and drinks until about half an hour later. By the time they got to the BAU, they were two minutes late. But Hotch didn't mind. Emily and JJ walk through the glass doors, Emily not paying attention, and everyone shouts 'Surprise'. This scared Emily causing her to drop her coffee on the floor. This made her really sad, and she knew that her day was only going to go downhill from there.

"What's this?" Emily asked JJ.

"Well, it's your birthday, and we wanted to surprise you with a little party." JJ answered.

"That's sweet of you guys, but I really don't want to celebrate it. It's just another day." Emily said with a slight frown. Emily walked over to her desk and sat her things down on the floor.

"Is she okay?" Reid asked JJ.

"Uh, I'm not actually sure. I'm going to talk to her." JJ said and walked over to Emily.

"I'm fine, JJ." Emily said without even looking to see who it was. She just knew it was JJ.

"Em, please talk to me. Why do you seem sad all of a sudden?" JJ asked. Emily didn't answer her. Instead, she rolled her chair away from her desk and stood up. She gently grabbed JJ's wrist and led her to the room they had a steamy make out session. Emily closed the door behind her and locked it. Instead of talking, all Emily could do was hug JJ and cry on her shoulder. JJ held Emily tightly and just let her cry whatever was bothering her, out.

"Baby, please tell me what's wrong?" JJ asked after Emily cried for a few minutes. Emily pulled away from JJ and wiped away her tears.

"In two days, it will be the anniversary that Luca's father... I usually am able to hide the pain, but with having Luca back in my life a lot more than just holidays, it's hard to forget about it. I'm not blaming Luca at all. I will never blame him for my feelings about this and what his father did to me. I just, I don't know. This year feels way different than previous years, and I'm not able to control my emotions as much. It's scaring me because I can usually compartmentalize better than this." Emily explained.

"Emily, I'm-"

"It's okay. It's stupid to even be this upset about-"

"It's not stupid, Em. Look, nothing like this has ever happened to me, so I really have no idea what to even say. But I will say that I'm always here to at least listen. If you need advice, then I will try my best to give you some advice. If you just need a shoulder to cry on, I will be your shoulder. I'm here for you, Em, every step of the way." JJ said. Emily smiled slightly and gave JJ a brief kiss.

"I love you." Emily said.

"I love you too. I did have something planned tonight after work for your birthday, but we don't have to do anything if you don't want to." JJ said.

"I want to. Here, I'll put on my best smile and hope it doesn't look fake." Emily said with a chuckle.

"I can tell them to take the decorations off if you want me to." JJ said.

"No, don't. You guys spent time planning and setting up. I don't want to ruin that." Emily said. JJ grabbed Emily's hand, reassuring her that everything's okay. They walked out of the room, pulling their hands away from each other, and walked back into the bullpen. Emily tried her best to make it seem like she was having a good time. Which, she was, but her mind kept drifting to Luca's dad.

The team didn't have a case, so they were able to go home. On the ride back to JJ's house, Emily held JJ's hand and stared at her, memorizing every feature over and over again until they arrived. "Since we have tomorrow off, Luca and Henry are going to spend the entire day with you. I gave Luca permission to take Henry to a football game tonight, so we at least have a few hours to ourselves. Just brace yourself for tomorrow, because it sounds like you guys will be eating a lot of ice cream and dino nuggets according to Henry," JJ informed Emily, which caused Emily to chuckle. "Tonight, I was thinking that we could start by making this cheesy chicken and broccoli pasta thing I saw. Then we can have ourselves some wine and follow along a Bob Ross painting video." JJ suggested.

"That sounds perfect." Emily said. They sat their stuff down and took off their shoes.

"Another thing, I bought us these matching pajama sets and robes if we get cold," JJ said, pulling out two Victoria's Secret bags. "I wasn't planning on buying patching pajama sets. I was planning on buying you something a lot sexier than these. But, I remembered that we have kids, and they were going to be back today. So I went with the black short sleeves and shorts set." JJ said.

"Yeah that would've been very awkward." Emily said. They changed into their pajamas and began to start cooking their dinner. It was a very interesting process as JJ kept spilling or dropping items, which made Emily laugh a little. They had a cheese fight, throwing cheese at each other. They both were having a fun time. In the end, it turned out pretty good. JJ poured each of them a glass of wine, and then she lit some candles just to make it a little more romantic. They ate their food and drank the entire bottle of wine, which was three glasses each.

"Before we paint along to a Bob Ross video, I want to do something. There is something that no one knows about me except my family. Do you know how to play 'Fly Me To The Moon'?" JJ asked.

"Yeah? Are you going to sing or something?" Emily asked.

"You'll see. Go sit at the piano and close your eyes." JJ said.

"And if I don't are you going to punish me?" Emily thought out loud with a smirk. After realizing she said it out loud, her eyes grew big.

"I mean if you really want me to, I most certainly can." JJ said with a smirk. Emily could see that JJ's eyes had dilated.

"I- I- uh-" Emily was speechless, which made JJ chuckle.

"I'll be right back." JJ said with a smile and gave Emily a short kiss before walking to another room. Emily sat in her chair just processing what just happened before coming back to reality. She walked over to the piano JJ had gotten just for her and closed her eyes. JJ walked back and told Emily she could open her eyes. Emily looked over to JJ and saw that she had a saxophone.

"You play the saxophone?" Emily asked with a smile. Saxophone is one of Emily's favorite instruments to listen to.

"I did from fifth grade until senior year. Fly Me To The Moon is one of my favorite solos that I did." JJ said. No one, not even Will, in her current life knew she played saxophone. The only ones who did were her family and those who she went to school with. JJ took her reed out of her mouth and put it on the plastic mouthpiece an secured it with the ligature. Emily started playing, and JJ started playing when it was her time. Through the entire song, Emily kept thinking about how beautifully JJ played. When the song was over, Emily looked at JJ with so much love in her eyes. JJ looked at Emily and smiled. JJ got lost in Emily's eyes, and her next words took Emily by surprise.

"Marry me."

"What?" Emily asked, making sure she heard JJ right.

"Marry me. I know it's fast since we've only been dating for almost four months, but we've known each other for years. You're such an amazing person and amazing mother to both of our kids. You're so perfect in every way. My conscience knew that you're the one for me before I even knew. People freak out when they hear the word marriage, but really it's just an "official" word for how much two people love each other. You're home to me, and I want to spend the rest of my life loving you and being your wife." JJ said.

"No one's ever loved me this much." Emily said with tears running down her face.

"I love you so much, Emily May. So what do you say? Will you marry me?" JJ asked. She even got down on one knee while holding Emily's hands in hers.

"Yes!" Emily said. JJ stood up and kissed Emily with so much love. JJ pulled away, and they both had the biggest smile on their faces. "Take me to your room." Emily whispered.

"A-are you sure?" JJ asked.

"Yes. I'm ready." Emily said. JJ took off the neck strap for her saxophone and set that and the saxophone down on the table. She grabbed Emily's hand and led her to her room. Once the door was closed, they started making out. JJ's hand found itself under Emily's shirt and felt Emily's stomach. Soon Emily's shirt and shorts were off (she wasn't wearing a bra or underwear), and Emily turned really shy since she was self-conscious of her body. JJ thought she had a beautiful body. Before doing anything else, she looked up at Emily just to be sure. Emily nodded her head, and so JJ began. Emily climaxed three times before she decided it was JJ's turn, and boy did JJ enjoy that. JJ came to the conclusion that Emily was so much better than Will. She truly had been missing out.

When they were done, they had about half an hour before the boys would be back from the football game, so they decided to take a quick shower and watch a movie in the living room. When the boys got back, Henry was asleep, so Luca had to carry him in. "He kinda fell asleep on the way back." Luca said. JJ chuckled and took Henry from him.

"I'll go put him in bed. I'll be right back." JJ said.

"So I'm assuming you guys had a great time?" Luca asked.

"We did." Emily said with a smile. Luca noticed a certain glow to her, so he knows what they did.

"I'm going to pretend that all you guys did was have dinner and watch a movie and nothing else. I'm also going to pretend that the certain glow that you have is from the food being great." Luca said.

"I mean-" Emily started.

"Please don't finish that sentence." Luca said, not wanting to actually hear that his mother had sex. He would be scarred for life if did.

"...if you count JJ as-"

"Nope! La la la la la la la." Luca said, covering his ears. This made Emily laugh.

"There is something that I need to tell you, though, once JJ gets back." Emily said. Luca uncovered his ears and began to worry.

"This sounds serious." he said. JJ walked in, and Emily gave her that look. JJ nodded her head, and Emily told Luca to sit.

"JJ and I are getting married." Emily said, instinctively taking JJ's hand into hers. Luca was silent, processing what Emily told him. He looked at them, realizing just how much Emily loved JJ and vice versa. So, he looked at JJ.

"Welcome to the family." he said. JJ and Emily smiled and stood up. Luca stood up, and they all hugged each other in a group hug. In this moment, JJ realized that Emily was the one for her and not Will. She realized she made a big mistake for working things out with him. Now she has to break the news to him, but she didn't know how.
