"I don't care, JJ! YOU'RE the reason why Emily tried to end her life! It's bad enough that I had to keep your secret for you! I may be slightly overreacting, but we could've lost her. For real this time! I hate that I've kept your secret this long. I should've told her when you told me!" Spencer said.
"Why do you even care so much about her? I know she's your friend, but you seem protective of her." JJ said.
"Are you being for real right now? I care about her not only because she's my friend, but because I love her! I have since about a month after she joined the team." Spencer said. His eyes widened a little after realizing what he just said. JJ just laughed.
"I hate to break it to you, but you'll never, NEVER have her. She doesn't like guys, and she sure as hell doesn't like you. So keep dreaming, Spence." JJ said.
"I don't even know who you are anymore." Spencer said and walked away from JJ. People were staring at them since they were in the middle of the bullpen.
"JJ, my office, now!" Hotch said sternly to JJ. JJ rolled her eyes and went up to his office. Hotch shut the door after she walked in.
"Is there a reason why I'm in here?" JJ asked.
"I know you're going through a tough time right now. We all are, but that does not give you the right to take it out on everyone here. I'm going to have you take some time off to calm down and really think about your recent behavior." Hotch told her.
"But-"
"That's an order. Now get out of my office and go home." Hotch told her. JJ rolled her eyes and stormed out. She stormed through the bullpen and to her car. She screamed after shutting the door. She sat there for about 5 minutes before going home.
Emily had been out of the hospital for a week, and she's barely ate anything. She's been staying with Elizabeth so she had someone to watch her all day and night. "Emily, please try to eat something. You've only ate about three meals worth of food this entire week. I'm starting to really worry about you." Elizabeth said.
"I'm not hungry." is all Emily said. Elizabeth sighed and sat the bowl of soup on the night stand.
"I'll leave this here in case you change your mind. Please try to eat at least a little bit." Elizabeth said. She looked at Emily with sadness before walking out of her room. She hated to see her daughter like this. The only way Emily was going to get better was to be institutionalized. She didn't know how long she would be there, but it's what's best for her at this point. Elizabeth went to her office and made some phone calls. She found one that was accepting patients, so she gathered a couple things before telling Emily to pack a bag. Emily was very confused but decided not to protest or question anything. She packed a duffel bag with a few days worth of clothes. Elizabeth made sure that the clothes lived up to the institutions expectations as far as clothes and shoes. She remembered almost the entire checklist, but she was sure she forgot a few things considering the list was quite long.
"Where are we going?" Emily finally asked. She wasn't in the mood for a trip.
"That's for me to know, and for you to find out." Elizabeth said. The got into the car, and Elizabeth drove for an hour and a half before pulling into the parking lot of the institution. "Absolutely not!" Emily protested.
"Emily you need-"
"I don't need anything! I was perfectly fine at home!" Emily shouted.
"You're not fine, Emily! This is my last resort! I've already told Hotch where you're going to be, and he agrees with me!" Elizabeth raised her voice.
"Why do you always get rid of me?! I hate you!" Emily shouted before getting out of the car angrily. She started crying while removing her bag from the back seat. They went inside and got Emily checked in before Elizabeth said goodbye to her. Emily didn't say a word. She just rolled her eyes and followed the nurse.
Elizabeth went out to her car and shed a few tears before telling Hotch that Emily was now in the institution for an unknown amount of time. Hotch gathered everyone in the conference room and told them. Of course, everyone was sad and upset that it has gotten to this point. However, they were glad she was finally getting help. "Way to go, JJ. You broke her. I hope you're happy now." Spencer said.
"That's enough. We may not like what JJ did to Emily, but she's part of this team. We have to work together and keep things professional especially in the field. If you have a problem with that, then you can talk to me in my office." Hotch said.
"You know what? If I have to work along side her, then I quit." Spencer said and walked out of the conference room. Hotch went after Spencer and called him to his office.
"Think through this before you make your decision." Hotch said.
"I can't work with her knowing that she willingly made Emily believe that she loved her and based their relationship off of a dare. I just can't! That's not the JJ that I know. I don't know who she is anymore. Emily deserves so much better than her, and it just irks me that JJ used her like that!" Spencer said.
"I understand that. Think about this overnight, and if you still want to quit by the end of the day tomorrow, then I can't stop you from doing so." Hotch said before releasing Spencer.
