75 Years Chapter 5
Author's Note: I do not own The Hunger Games
Following on from the controversial 4th Hunger Games, Dr. Gaul was left fuming by the actions of the District 12 male to the point she decided to punish the Outlier Districts. Like the other Games before it, the Fifth Hunger Games took place in the City Arena

District 3: Mmseyone Musk (16), Travis Hubble (14)

District 6: Fiona Grissom (17), Fabio Shepard (16)
District 7: Leah Andrews (17), Lumber Hirsch (13)

Pre-Games:
Prior to the Games, some contanimated water given to the Districts 10, 11 and 12 Tributes saw all six became ill, with four of them dying the day before the Games began
24th: Samuel Lanegan, District 10. Pre-Hunger Games. Poisoned
23rd: Bessie Georges, District 10. Pre-Hunger Games. Poisoned
22nd: Fig Demaine, District 11. Pre-Hunger Games. Poisoned
21st: Moora Reinheldt, District 12. Pre-Hunger Games. Poisoned
This was to send a clear message to Lachlan Hennessey that "Inter-District Alliances will not be tolerated by Dr. Gaul".
The Games:
The surviving twenty Tributes entered the Arena. Immediately Jewel Chaney and Theobald Wong, the District 1 Tributes, went over to the pile of weapons and started slaughtering any Tribute that came near the pile. A girl from District 8 attempted to pull out a dagger but Jewel, upon seeing her, swiftly decapitated the girl
20th: Allie Crean, District 8. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Jewel
Allie's District Partner, Richard, soon fell, a knife in his stomach
19th: Richard Bellerin, District 8. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Theobald
Moments into the Games, Berry Birtwhistle collapsed, the after-effects of the poison causing her body to shut down
18th: Berry Birtwhistle, District 11. Fifth Hunger Games. Multiple organ failure as a result of poison
Lachlan Hennessey, upon seeing Berry's corpse, decided to hide for the rest of the Games, knowing that Dr. Gaul would exact her revenge on him. By the weapons pile, six Tributes attempted to seize a weapon. Athena Hislop, the District 2 female, made an attempt to take a sword, however, Theobald spotted her and promptly cut her apart
17th: Athena Hislop, District 2. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Theobald
Granit McKennie, Athena's District Partner, decided to take off away from the weapons pile as he saw the decimated corpse of his District Partner. Meanwhile, Jewel had thrown three throwing knives into the backs of a trio of Tributes fleeing from the weapons pile; a girl from District 9, a boy from District 3 and a girl from District 4
16th: Lucy Higgins, District 9. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Jewel
15th: Travis Hubble, District 3. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Jewel
14th: Danielle Verstappen, District 4. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Jewel
A boy from District 5 had fell onto the ground, and sensing his chance, Theobald disembowled him, not realising that the boy had gone unconsicous
13th: Gregory McDonald, District 5. Fifth Hunger Games. Impact from fall
Jewel spotted four more Tributes huddling in the corner, and armed with her throwing knives, killed all four
12th: Davy Poldolski, District 4. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Jewel
11th: Fiona Grissom, District 6. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Jewel
10th: Ian Perez, District 9. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Jewel
9th: Lumber Hirsch, District 7. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Jewel
What Jewel didn't realise that both Granit and Mmseyone Musk had managed to retrieve some weapons. With the field down to eight Tributes, the Games could be over on either Day 2 or Day 3.
Day 2 dawned with another death, as Theobald managed to kill a sleeping District 6 boy
8th: Fabio Shepard, District 6. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Theobald
As Theobald pulled his sword from Fabio's body, a loud scream was heard from the weapons pile. Quickly he ran, seeing Granit kill his District Partner
7th: Jewel Chaney, District 1. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Granit
Angrily, Theobald drew his sword and plunged it into Granit's chest
6th: Granit McKennie, District 2. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Theobald.
Angry at the death of his District Partner, Theobald went to find another Tribute to target, coming across a girl from District 7. The girl barely felt the sword run through her
5th: Leah Andrews, District 7. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Theobald
On the other side of the Arena, Mmseyone had managed to slit the throat of a District 5 girl
4th: Tabitha Reeves, District 5. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Mmseyone
At this point Lachlan Hennessey walked out of his hiding place. Taking off an item off his neck, he held it up high. "The name on this tag is that of my twin brother, and don't you ever forget it." he yelled in defiance as he put the tag back on. At this point Mmseyone Musk approached him, and turning around Lachlan unbuttoned his shirt, exposing the tag resting against his heart. "Go on Mmseyone. I'm not afraid." Lachlan muttered, looking at the tag. Getting her dagger out, Mmseyone plunged it into Lachlan's chest, cutting the tag in two. Lachlan stumbled and then fell. Looking down, Mmseyone crouched down, and stayed with the dying District 12 male long enough for him to whisper "I'll see you shortly, Harold" as he slipped away
3rd: Lachlan Hennessey, District 12. Fifth Hunger Games. Killed by Mmseyone
Stepping back up, Mmseyone turned around to see Theobald behind her. The two Tributes fought, blade against blade, until Mmseyone disarmed Theobald. Without warning, Mmseyone drilled her dagger into Theobald's chest, instantly killing him

1st: Mmseyone Musk, District 3. Fifth Hunger Games. Victor
Mmseyone smiled. She was going home
Aftermath:
Mmseyone's victory, like many before her, would soon be forgotten. For many years she never told anyone in her District about Lachlan Hennessey's last words, and she felt guilty that she killed him. As decades pass, and several Tributes started showing defiance, namely those from the rebellious Districts, Mmseyone began to respect Lachlan for his defiance. She would have three children, though none of them were Reaped into the Games. Mmseyone would pass away before the 72nd Hunger Games, becoming the penultimate Victor born before the Dark Days to die. She never forgot the Tributes from her Games. She stuck up a friendship with Horsa Georges, the District 10 Victor, and when Horsa died she was given permission to attend his funeral. All copies of the Fifth Hunger Games was wiped, except the copy kept by Dr. Gaul, which she had stored away, due to Lachlan's defiant actions. Lachlan's name tag, sliced perfectly in two, is kept at the Panem Museum, and the description beside it states "This tag was made by Mr. James Dolman for Lachlan Hennessey in memory of his twin brother Harold, who lost his life in the Fourth Hunger Games. Their deaths, as well as those of 1,741 others, had not been in vain." Lachlan was buried next to his brother, and on his grave his gravestone reads In memory of Lachlan "Lachie" Hennessey. Carried his twin's memory to the last. A beautiful tribute to the brotherly love of Harold and Lachie Hennessey. Below is a note written by Dr. Gaul about the Fifth Hunger Games
Theobald possessed a killer instinct. I demand all copies of the Fifth Hunger Games to be wiped in regards to Lachlan's actions. A Tribute openly showing defiance against the Games is a no-no.
The Fifth Hunger Games was at the time, the shortest on record, lasting thirty eight hours.
Lachlan Hennessey's third-place finish would be the last time until the 10th Hunger Games that District 12 would finish quite high
Lachan Hennessey would get a record in this Games, by becoming the first twin of another Tribute to participate in a Hunger Games. It would be a decade before a set of Twins would participate in the same Hunger Games.
So we have Lachie's Games. I love the idea that Mimi and Horsa would become friends later in life.
