75 Years Chapter 17

Following the success of the 16th Hunger Games and the implementation of the Betting Odds, Head Gamemaker Coriolanus Snow decided the next thing to be added is the Training Scores. Below are the Tributes of the 17th Hunger Games and their Training Scores.

As the Tributes stood around the Cornucopia, they saw that around them was a forest. As soon as the gong rang, Topaz and Monty ran to the horn, joined by Drusa and Antares. It wasn't long before the first kill was made, as Drusa speared through a small boy.
24th: Steve Kelce, District 3. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Drusa. Bloodbath
Another small boy attempted to hide, but Antares grabbed him and slammed him against the horn until his neck snapped.
23rd: Darn Garfield, District 8. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Antares. Bloodbath
Topaz had just slit the throat of a small girl from District 9.
22nd: Flora Carmichael, District 9. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Topaz. Bloodbath.
Antares had spotted an axe; however, Bailey was quick to grab it and swinging at the District 2 male, she swiftly decapitated him.
21st: Antares Mayot, District 2. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Bailey. Bloodbath
Drusa, upon seeing her District Partner die, tried to go for Bailey, but ending up spearing an unlucky Tribute.
20th: Branch Appleby, District 7. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Drusa. Bloodbath
Monty had just finished slashing at a Tribute
19th: Custard Clarkson, District 11. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Monty. Bloodbath.
The final kill of the Bloodbath was made by Bailey, who saw Drusa approach her. As Drusa lifted her weapon to gut the girl, Bailey hacked off her arms, leaving her to bleed to death as the Cannon fired a hour later.
18th: Drusa Lansbury, District 2. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Bailey. Bloodbath
In District 2 and the Capitol, a sense of shock fell upon them. Both Pre-Games favourites are dead already, and at the hands of the District 7 girl.
Days 2 and 3 passed without incident, but on Day 4 Topaz cornered a girl from District 11. Drawing her knife, she stabbed the girl to death.
17th: Cornflower Murray, District 11. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Topaz. Day 4
Cornflower's death was the only death on Day 4. On Day 5, a flock of Magpie Mutts swarmed a trio of Tributes, pecking and tearing at them before they died.
16th: Wilbert Cantwell, District 10. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Magpie Mutts. Day 5.
15th: Adhira Rosati, District 3. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Magpie Mutts. Day 5.
14th: Bee Mitford, District 8. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Magpie Mutts. Day 5.
While the Magpie Mutts was on the loose, Monty and Topaz had cornered a trio of Tributes. In the resulting melee, only Bailey and Topaz escaped.
13th: Ahana Sachar, District 5. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Topaz. Day 5
12th: Mae Ruvkin, District 6. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Bailey. Day 5
11th: Monty Heyer, District 1. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Topaz. Day 5
Horrified at the fact she had killed her District Partner, Topaz saw there was a boy nearby. Picking up a spear, she hurled it through the chest of the boy.
10th: Beck Hinton, District 4. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Topaz. Day 5.
During the Melee, the Magpie Mutts had successfully located a girl by a small stream before pecking her to death.
9th: Laguna Roseau, District 4. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Magpie Mutts. Day 5.
The Final Eight had been decided: Topaz Hirst of District 1, Brontes Bell of District 5, Story Mancini of District 6, Bailey Thornton of District 7, Avery McCurdy of District 9, Clarabelle Relph of District 10, Blue Anderson of District 12 and Homer Platz of District 12.
Day 7 of the Games dawned with a Cannon fire as Topaz tortured a small boy to death.
8th: Story Mancini, District 6. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Topaz. Day 7
By the time Day 7 ended, just two Tributes would be left: Topaz on Bailey's trail, Bailey camouflaging herself among the trees using mud and leaves. As the morning stretched on, Topaz came across a napping boy. Drawing out her knife, she slit the boy's throat.
7th: Brontes Bell, District 5. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Topaz. Day 7
While Topaz was tracking Bailey, a girl was stung by Tracker Jackers as she rested underneath.
6th: Clarabelle Relph, District 10. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Tracker Jackers. Day 7
As it crept towards afternoon, Topaz ambushed a boy from District 12. Knocking Homer to the ground, she drew out her knife before pinning the tip on his chest. In one swoop Topaz gutted the boy.
5th: Homer Platz, District 12. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Topaz. Day 7
As she stood up, amongst the trees was a pair of Tributes; Homer's District Partner and the boy from 9, looking horrified by what they witnessed. Without warning, Topaz grabbed Blue by her neck and strangling her until she died.
4th: Blue Anderson, District 12. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Topaz. Day 7
Drawing out her knife, Topaz stabbed the boy through the heart.
3rd: Avery McCurdy, District 9. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Topaz. Day 7.
As she let go of Avery's corpse, Topaz felt something barrel into her. Scrambling, she saw that the person that barrelled into her was another girl. Trying to draw out her knife, Topaz felt an axe cut her hand off. Bailey hacked off Topaz's other hand, before hacking at the District 1 girl until the Cannon fired.
2nd: Topaz Hirst, District 1. 17th Hunger Games. Killed by Bailey. Day 7
Upon hearing the Cannon fire, Bailey dropped her axe, relieved that she was able to go home.
1st: Bailey Thornton, District 7. 17th Hunger Games. VICTOR
Aftermath:
Bailey's victory brought celebrations in District 7. With just three years separating Dinah's and Bailey's wins, the two Victors would become firm friends. Bailey would die while the 60th Hunger Games was taking place, from an infection as a result of an assassination that killed Dinah as well as two other Victors. Although the bullet had been removed, the wound would be infected two years later. For a District that began the decade with zero Victors, District 7 has done well, putting them joint first of Victors with Districts 1, 2, 11 and 8.
