75 Years Chapter 20
Author's Note: I do not own The Hunger Games
The fifth year of Coriolanus Snow's time as Head Gamemaker coincided with the end of the second decade of the Hunger Games. That year, he decided that the Arena would be a Maze, with Tributes having to avoid each other as they make their way out, to be greeted by a rose garden.
District 1: Pearl Rickards (17), Quartz Aramani (17)
District 2: Hilaria Morelle (17), Caelus Harris (18)
District 3: Pi Stanley (15), Faraday Plummer (16)

District 11: Serena Peazer (16), Wheaton Gbangbola (16)
District 12: Buttercup Webb (17), Coller Manthei (18)
As the Tributes stood in the middle of the maze, the gong went off as they ran towards the horn. A few Tributes, Faraday Plummer and Amy Grissom among them, went into the maze as the Districts 1 and 2 Tributes met up. The very first of the twelve bloodbath deaths would be made by Pearl, who cleaved a powerful miner apart as he picked up a large bag.
24th: Coller Manthei, District 12. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Pearl. Bloodbath.
A few seconds later, District 12 ended up with zero Tributes that made it as Caelus stabbed a girl with dark hair to death.
23rd: Buttercup Webb, District 12. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Caelus. Bloodbath
Four more Tributes would soon follow, shot by Hilaria's longbow.
22nd: Silica Payne, District 5. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Hilaria. Bloodbath
21st: Kaito Flanagan, District 4. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Hilaria. Bloodbath

A small boy would soon find himself carved up by Caelus
18th: Marty Knutsford, District 6. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Caelus. Bloodbath
Quartz had speared three Tributes
17th: Katka Mulino, District 7. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Quartz. Bloodbath
16th: Argyle Houghton, District 8. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Quartz. Bloodbath
15th: Gouda Smithills, District 10. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Quartz. Bloodbath
Caelus decapitated a Tribute, one of the favourites.
14th: Corentin Winchester, District 5. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Caelus. Bloodbath
Pearl had stabbed another Tribute to death
13th: Pi Stanley, District 3. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Pearl. Bloodbath
With the Bloodbath now ended, the Tributes scattered, with the Districts 1 and 2 Tributes near the Cornucopia and the others traversing the maze.
On Day 2, a rose bush Mutt attacked a sleeping girl, its thorns piercing the girl's skin until she went limp.
12th: Marianne Garvin, District 8. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Rose Bush Mutt. Day 2.
Marianne was the only Tribute to die on Day 2. On Day 3 The Districts 1 and 2 Tributes found a badly injured girl, who had found herself poisoned by the Rose Bush Mutt. Grabbing her dagger, Pearl stabbed the girl in the heart.
11th: Serena Peazer, District 11. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Pearl. Day 3
Nearby, Sycamore was looking for the exit, and upon witnessing Pearl stab Serena, decided to turn away. Unfortunately, Quartz's spear was faster, and the lumberjack fell to the ground.
10th: Sycamore Rykwert, District 7. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Quartz. Day 3
A girl died of blood poisoning seconds after Sycamore's Cannon fired.
9th: Kaniwa Schwartz, District 9. 20th Hunger Games. Blood poisoning from Mutts. Day 3.
The Final Eight had been decided: Pearl Rickards and Quartz Aramani of District 1, Hilaria Morelle and Caelus Harris of District 2, Faraday Plummer of District 3, Tempest Calafiori of District 4, Amy Grissom of District 6 and Exmoor March of District 10.
On Day 5, Exmoor took his last breath as the poison got hold, another victim to the Rose Bush Mutts.
8th: Exmoor March, District 10. 20th Hunger Games. Blood Poisoning. Day 5
As Exmoor's Cannon went off, a second Cannon followed a moment later; Caelus had just ambushed a girl from District 6 and had her hacked to death.
7th: Amy Grissom, District 6. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Caelus. Day 5
As midday inched closer, Hilaria shot a girl in a hail of arrows, the projectiles impaling the girl until she resembled a hedgehog.
6th: Tempest Calafiori, District 4. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Hilaria. Day 5.
Caelus had finished gutting a boy.
5th: Faraday Plummer, District 3. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Caelus. Day 5.
With the four strongest Tributes left, the audience in the Capitol watched on tenterhooks as Pearl slit Hilaria's throat.
4th: Hilaria Morelle, District 2. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Pearl. Day 5
Furious at Hilaria's death, Caelus lunged forward, sword in hand, as he fought the District 1 Tributes. In the brutal melee that followed, the hedge of the maze would be stained with the blood of the District 1 pair.
3rd: Pearl Rickards, District 1. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Caelus. Day 5
2nd: Quartz Aramani, District 1. 20th Hunger Games. Killed by Caelus. Day 5.
Dropping his sword, Caelus passed out, exhausted that he made it
1st: Caelus Harris, District 2. 20th Hunger Games. VICTOR
Aftermath:
District 2 celebrated Caelus' Victory. Well known for his aggression, Caelus would found two things: A line of Victors and an Academy in District 2. Amongst the first District 2 Academy students would be a pair of kids named Athena Phillipson and Valor Amesbury, both of whom would become the first "Official Careers". Peleus Evans, the uncle of Achilles Evans, was hired as an instructor in the early years of the Career Academy, and after Peleus' death, the Academy was named after his nephew. Today the Achilles Evans Career Academy is now a High School, still with the name Achilles Evans, with its students winning the Panem Athletics Competition three yeas running. Caelus himself would have three children, one, named Hannibal, going on to win the Hunger Games; Hannibal's son, Cato, would later participate in the 74th Hunger Games. Caelus would be killed during the Victors' Purge.
The Capitol in the Second Decade of the Games
Following Volumnia Gaul's retirement following the 15th Hunger Games, her protégé Coriolanus Snow would be influential in the Games gaining increased popularity. As the 20th Hunger Games ended, the Capitolites would start speculating on the next decade, a decade that they would call "The Beginning of the Golden Age". One Capitolite placed a bet that "By the 30th Hunger Games, a Second-Generation Tribute will win the Games" as some of the early Victors' children are of Reaping Age or close to it. Tigris Snow would begin styling the Tributes in this decade, with District 12 Tributes; by the end of the decade, she would be promoted to District 3 and style their Tributes. Districts 11, 5, 1, 7, 8, 11, 6 and 2 had gained Victors eligible to Mentor this decade. It's hard to say which District dominated the Games. But the "Snow Era" of the Hunger Games would become influential in terms of the Games' popularity in the Capitol.
The Victors.
With the 20th Hunger Games over, we should look at what the Victors were doing at this stage.
Edgar Parlour (38 as of the 20th Hunger Games). Edgar, resident of District 1, is the father to three children: Diamond, 18, Mink, 15 and Treasure, 13. All three are in the Reaping Bowl as of this chapter, but as Diamond has so far avoided the Reaping, his name will be removed from the list starting from the 21st Games. Whether or not Mink or Treasure ends up in the Games remains to be seen.
Virgil Barde (36 as of the 20th Hunger Games). Virgil is still working in the textile factory, and is currently father to four children: Tarpaulin, 10, Crinoline, 8, Silk, 6 and Hemp, 4, all named after fabrics.
Ginny Canova (33 as of the 20th Hunger Games). Ginny still works in the orchards of District 11, and has five children: Fern, who is currently 10, Herb and Anise, 7, Pear, 6 and Orange, 3. Apparently Ginny is dreading the 22nd Hunger Games, as her eldest daughter Fern will be eligible for the Reaping.
Horsa Georges (33 as of the 20th Hunger Games). Following the deaths of his sister in the 5th Hunger Games as well as his parents a few years ago, Horsa has opened up the family ranch as an equestrian centre. Happily married to Nonnie Stafford, he is father to four children: Taliesin, 9, Barbara, 7 and twins Claire and Harold, 4. Apparently apart from Taliesin, three of Horsa's children are named after his fallen allies.
Mmseyone Musk (32 as of the 20th Hunger Games). In recent years, "Mimi", as she is known, became a penfriend to Horsa and just raising her two children, Taranis, 2 and Socket, newborn, in District 3.
Paris Curl (31 as of the 20th Hunger Games). Since the death of his uncle, Paris had taken up Stone Carving and continued his late uncle's legacy of carving statues of the fallen District 2 Tributes by the Mausoleum. When he is not carving, he can often be found playing with his children, Victoria, 8, Zelus, 6 and Bia, 4.
Chive Carmichael (29 as of 20th Hunger Games) The Victor of the 7th Hunger Games lives in District 9 with her son, Basil, 2.
Samson Wilson (28 as of the 20th Hunger Games) As far as I'm aware, Samson is the father of two children, Rotor, 3 and Motive, 1.
Hestia Curl (27 as of the 20th Hunger Games) Hestia spends her days at the Mausoleum, and every week she would place flowers on the tomb of her fallen District Partner with her son, Narcissus, in tow. Narcissus being named in honour of her dead District Partner, whose middle name was Narcissus.
Lucy Grey Baird (~26 as of the 20th Hunger Games). Out of the first ten Victors, Lucy Grey's whereabouts is unknown; all we do know is that she disappeared during Coriolanus Snow's tenure in District 12.
Mags Flanagan (25 as of the 20th Hunger Games). The first Victor to Mentor, Mags has been a constant mentor for the District 4 Tributes since her Victory in the 11th Hunger Games.
Tammy Winchester (25 as of the 20th Hunger Games). Since winning the 12th Hunger Games, Tammy has Mentored the Tributes from her home District since giving District 5 their first and to date only Victor.
Molly Frost (24 as of the 20th Hunger Games). Molly has been one of the more successful Mentors this decade, bringing home at least one Tribute for District 1.
Dinah West (22 as of the 20th Hunger Games). Like Molly, Dinah has been a successful Mentor for District 7.
Kronos Jackson (20 as of the 20th Hunger Games). Hasn't had much success in Mentoring, not least for the past five years.
Woof Casino (20 as of the 20th Hunger Games). Like Kronos, hasn't Mentored a District 8 Tribute to Victory.
Bailey Thornton (19 as of the 20th Hunger Games). Still early days for Bailey to bring a District 7 Tribute home.
Maxmillian Jaaskelainen (20 as of the 20th Hunger Games). He hasn't had much success so far.
Imogen Roosa (17 as of the 20th Hunger Games). The only Victor still of Reaping Age, getting a District 6 Tribute into the last Eight on her first year as Mentor tells us she could potentially be a successful Mentor in the future.

With that, the second decade of the Games are done, and my hiatus can now begin. I'll still write up future chapters for this story, but it will be a long while before you get the third decade. As I was posting this chapter my brother just shouted "2-1" as Arsenal just scored. Sometimes Soccer can bring up some surname idea.
