Many years after the Mockingjay Rebellion, Panem Museum's director Mercedes Vonheli receives a collection of "Master tapes" of the Hunger Games, and decided to write a history book about each Games as well as the culture and society of Panem. This story was published on AO3, and is rated T for violence and because it's The Hunger Games

28. The Urban City Arena

75 Years Chapter 28

I do not own The Hunger Games

Following the uniqueness of the 27th Hunger Games, Head Gamemaker Snow decided to create an Arena that can easily surpass the sewing box. The most notable Tribute Reaped was Taliesin Georges of District 10; should he win, he would become the first Second-Generation Victor. Amphitrite Colwill of District 4 was another notable Tribute, as her aunt was in the same Hunger Games that Taliesin's father won.

The Tributes:

District 1: Glisten Stanway (18), Shine Clahane (18)

District 2: Io Luu (18), Blade Rutte (18)

District 3: Elesia Nadella (13), Cackle Oritz (13)

District 4: Amphitrite Colwill (16), Surf McGee (16)

District 5: Kaylene Havertz (17), Neo Rojas (15)

District 6: Telstar Weigman (14), Ennie Okonkwo (16)

District 7: Twig Kackurri (14), Moises Moore (15)

District 8: Silkie Jenrick (14), Tyger Osimhen (15)

District 9: Honey MacFarlane (16), Monty Ferguson (12)

District 10: Rhiannon Croft (16), Taliesin Georges (17)

District 11: Goose Sullivan (14), Tomato Maupay (17)

District 12: Brindle Otten (12), Boulder Collins (13)

The Games:

The Tributes stood in the middle of the city, and as soon as the countdown ended the Tributes made a dash to the Cornucopia. It wasn't long before Io made the first kill, stabbing a wiry girl in the back.

24th: Twig Kackurri, District 7. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Io. Bloodbath.

Glisten slashed the throat of a small boy.

23rd: Monty Ferguson, District 9. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Glisten. Bloodbath

Blade had stabbed a girl to death

22nd: Elesia Nadella, District 3. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Blade. Bloodbath.

Shine had hacked down a girl, and armed with a spear, pierced the girl's throat.

21st: Kaylene Havertz, District 5. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Shine. Bloodbath

The final kill of the Bloodbath was made by Honey, who stabbed a distracted Surf from behind.

20th: Surf McGee, District 4. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Honey. Bloodbath

As Day 2 dawned, Amphitrite cornered Honey, and within seconds she stuck her trident through the girl's body.

19th: Honey MacFarlane, District 9. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Amphitrite. Day 2

Honey's death would be the only death on Day 2 as the remaining Tributes decided on their next plan of action; Taliesin and Rhiannon decide to try and look for Goose and Tomato, while the Career Tributes decide to go on a hunt the next day. This hunt would end with the deaths of two Tributes, when Shine and Blade hacked them to pieces.

18th: Boulder Collins, District 12. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Blade. Day 3

17th: Brindle Otten, District 12. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Shine. Day 3.

Later that day, Io gutted a boy, one that managed to make it out of the Bloodbath despite his age.

16th: Cackle Oritz, District 3. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Io. Day 3

The last kill of Day 3 was made by Glisten, who, armed with a bow and arrows, shot at a small girl. The arrow entered between the girl's shoulder blades, and she fell forward.

15th: Silkie Jenrick, District 8. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Glisten. Day 3.

Overnight, a sodden downpour fell onto the Arena, drenching the Tributes from District 6. After finding some place dry, Telstar and Ennie hoped that they don't catch a cold. Day 4 passed by deathless, however on Day 5, giant rat mutts was unleased into the Arena. The mutts grabbed Goose, and within moments tore her apart.

14th: Goose Sullivan, District 11. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by rat mutts. Day 5

Goose would be the only Tribute to die on Day 5. Day 6 made it up by reducing the field down to the Final Eight. The first of the deaths would come just before dawn, when the pair from District 6 froze to death.

13th: Telstar Weigman, District 6. 28th Hunger Games. Hypothermia. Day 6

12th: Ennie Okonkwo, District 6. 28th Hunger Games. Hypothermia. Day 6

By mid-morning, Blade had found a boy from District 11, trembling in fright. An axe through the skull ended up silencing him.

11th: Tomato Maupay, District 11. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Blade. Day 6.

As Blade turned around, he found himself ambushed, before a knife went into his upper stomach.

10th: Blade Rutte, District 2. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Neo. Day 6.

As Neo made his escape, he found himself on the end of Amphitrite's trident.

9th: Neo Rojas, District 5. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Amphitrite. Day 6.

The Final Eight has been decided: Glisten Stanway of District 1, Shine Clahane of District 1, Io Luu of District 2, Amphitrite Colwill of District 4, Moises Moore of District 7, Tyger Osimhen of District 8, Rhiannon Croft of District 10 and Taliesin Georges of District 10.

Day 7 was relatively quiet, but on Day 8 did the Games burst into action. Moises, armed with an axe, saw Glisten, and after wrestling her to the floor, hacked into her abdomen.

8th: Glisten Stanway, District 1. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Moises. Day 8.

Glisten's District Partner, Shine, gave chase. No sooner than he went after Moises did Io and Amphitrite turn against each other. In the fight that followed, both girls would lie dead, leaving Rhiannon of District 10 as the last female Tribute left in the Games.

7th: Io Luu, District 2. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Amphitrite. Day 8

6th: Amphitrite Colwill, District 4. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Io. Day 8.

A Cannon went off as Shine successfully caught up with his target. A few slashes to the chest and stomach were all it took to silence Moises.

5th: Moises Moore, District 7. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Shine. Day 8.

In the Capitol, Coriolanus Snow told the Gamemakers to bring the Final Four Tributes together. A series of traps involving the power lines resulted in the last four Tributes by the Cornucopia. Shine made the first move, stabbing a small boy he held in his grasp.

4th: Tyger Osimhen, District 8. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Shine. Day 8.

Releasing Tyger's corpse from his arms, Shine sneered as he approached Rhiannon. Pushing her to the ground, he then lifted his knife, stabbing her until she perished.

3rd: Rhiannon Croft, District 10. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Shine. Day 8.

Now furious, Taliesin pulled out an axe he retrieved from Moises' corpse, and holding it in place in front of him, he waited for Shine to move forward. Pulling out his knife, Shine ran forward before feeling a sharp pain in his side. Crumpling in agony, Shine knelt. Picking up Rhiannon's knife, Taliesin calmly moved forward and slit Shine's throat.

2nd: Shine Clahane, District 1. 28th Hunger Games. Killed by Taliesin. Day 8.

Walking to Rhiannon's corpse, Taliesin placed the knife back in her belt as the trumpets echoed.

1st: Taliesin Georges, District 10. 28th Hunger Games. VICTOR.

Aftermath:

District 10 celebrated Taliesin's victory. Notable for becoming the first Second-Generation Victor, Taliesin would strike up a friendship with Victors from his generation. Known for his humility, Taliesin would often help his father, Horsa, on the latter's ranch. He would Mentor several Tributes, with many of them reaching the Final 12, and managed to bring a Victor home. Taliesin would die in the Victors' Purge, dying as the last District 10 Victor after Mink and Hektor's deaths in the Third Quarter Quell. However, Taliesin's younger siblings would make it to District 13, and once the Rebellion was over, returned home to District 10.
