Gandalf brought Nyx(a moon elf), who is extremely skilled with bows, knives, daggers and much more. She can move with the silent stealth and speed of a predator. The dwarves meet Bilbo baggians(the hobbit burglar Gandalf recruited) at his home first then 10 minutes later, they meet Nyx. Thorin isn't happy about having a elf help him as he despises elves. Still, she helps them on their way to the lonely mountain, saving the company multiple times and proving her worth but Thorin still does not like her. She helps Gandalf save thorin when he gets wounded by Azog's wolf. She saves both Thorin and his nephews(kili and Fili) from Azog when the orc gets a hold of them during the battle of the five armies. She risks her life multiple times and almost dies but thanks to the wood elveswoodland king Thranduil and the moon elves(her people), she lives. But Gandalf accidently reveals that she is the last of the moon elf royal family, which by default makes her the queen of moon elves and she is not happy that gandalf revealed her secret without asking because she doesn't want the throne and because she knows that her older brother, Seth, is not yet dead and is activitly looking for himhe is the reason she joined this quest as Gandalf said Azog had information on Seth. Thorin starts to realize that Nyx is actually quite important and starts to be nicer to her and treats her with respect but the tension only eases slightly and he is generally confused when she says she doesn't want to be queen. He doesn't know about her older brother Seth. Kili and Fili do start to ship her with Thorin even though Thorin does not like elves. Nyx just looks at them with pure amusement while the others dwarves start to join in, then the moon elves start to tease her as she does need a heir to the moon elf throne. Thorin does find out about Seth a week after Nyx leaves Erebor to find Seth as she was able to find a scroll on Seth's whereabouts and he is a bit sad that she didn't trust him enough to tell him so he could help her, Kili and Fili are quick to spot even the slightest hint of sadness on Thorin's face. Kili and Fili immediately start trying to convince Thorin to go after her. After two days of it, he sets out to find Nyx and Gandalf joins him to find her(cause Gandalf also ships Thorin and nyx). When they catch up to her, she looks at them with slight irritation then thorin uses the excuse of "you shouldn't travel alone" and she just sighs and lets them follow. Two weeks later, they find Seth, tied up in a cave full of orcs and goblins. She is pissed when she sees Seth tied up, which kinda scares Gandalf and Thorin as shes usually the calm one and while she does get after them for doing something stupid, shes never looked like she's going to kill someone. Seth immediately recognizes her and tries to keep a straight face so the orcs and goblins don't notice her and the two others with her though its very obvious that he's very very happy as they haven't seen each other in over 15 years as he was taken when she was 28 and he was 49. Seth's pov: Seth is sitting tied up on the cold cave floor when all of a sudden, he spots Nyx! His adorable little sister who he hasn't seen in 15 years. Mind: "Oh my Artemis! I see my little sister, wait I can't let the orc and goblins notice her, straight face" he puts on a straight face "much better, but oh my gods! shes gotten even more adorable then when she was younger" Thorin's pov: He's just watching Nyx lose her composure, mind: "by the beard of durin, she's scary but somehow loveable" Gandalf's pov: he has the same thoughts as Thorin but he looks more scared mind: "even though I'm a wizard, she scares me now" Nyx's pov: "I'm going to kill them all. I'm taking my brother back" and she does exactly that. No one's pov: Nyx frees Seth after killing the orcs and goblins and he hugs her very very tightly, very happy to have his little sister back in his arms
