We open with Sir Raven addressing the audience, "Greetings and salutations to readers old and new. Hope your holidays went well. Before we return to the story, let me recap: last time, Lincoln was trying to introduce his old friend Ronnie Anne into his friend group and then he had fallen into peril. Why was Lincoln in peril? Well, because Lincoln here isn't an overpowered Mary Sue like he is in many other fan fictions on this blasted website.
We zoom in on Sir Raven's head, "I'M NOT NAMING ANY NAMES!"
We zoom out from Sir Raven's head, "Lincoln and his good friend Ronnie Anne were captured by weird identical men, where in the world are they taking them? Who are they? I don't know! Let's find out in:"
Curious Objects, Part 2
Lincoln and Ronnie Anne slowly regained consciousness as they were carried into a large building that the duo was too dazed to recognize. They were brought down a long corridor that was all a bluish gray with several big metal doors on either side. The men in black took them into one room that was dimly lit, with someone inside neither of the kids recognized.
"White-Hare is in captivity." Said one of the men in black.
"Good, put him in the holding ring, I'll deal with him in a bit." responded a woman's voice.
"What about the girl?" asked the other man in black.
"We have no use for that thing. Get rid of it." the woman responded.
"You want us to execute her?"
"No, that's a waste of resources since then we'd have to destroy the body. Just toss it into the Backrooms."
"Yes, boss."
With that, the two lost consciousness again.
…
Clyde meanwhile led the rest of the friend group to Lincoln's house as his dads were unavailable due to urgent business. Clyde rang the doorbell a few times and Luna opened the door, carrying Lily. "Clyde!" Lily cried out in joy.
Clyde waved at her, "Hi Lily, hey Luna, is Grim around?"
Luna waved, "Hey dudes, sorry but Grim is out. He and Lucy are with Lucy's spooky friends trying to summon a demon or something."
"Um, okay then, are your parents home?" Stella asked, "There's been an emergency concerning Lincoln!"
"Linky?" Lily asked.
Luna's smile faded, "Oh no, is our bro in trouble?"
"Yeah, the government took him!" Zach cried out.
Luna and Lily both raised an eyebrow, "What?"
"Uh, what Zach means is, some weird fellas in black suits abducted him and his bully friend." Liam explained.
"One of them knocked me- er, TRIED to knock me down, but I was too tough for them!" Rusty added.
Luna paused for a moment, "Uh, is this some sort of game you dudes are playing?"
"No! This is serious!" Clyde told her.
"Serious? Call the police?" Lily asked.
"Uh, yeah, if this was serious, shouldn't you dudes call the cops or something?" Luna asked.
Everyone turned towards Zach, who nervously rubbed his hands, "Well…"
…
After Lincoln and Ronnie Anne got abducted, Zach dialed 9-1-1.
"9-1-1, please state your emergency." answered the operator.
"My friends have been abducted!" Zach cried out.
"Zach Gurdle? Is that you again? Okay, was it aliens or the Men in Black?"
"The Men in Black! They abducted my friend Lincoln and his friend Ronnie!"
"Sure, and I bet they drugged them and dragged them into a black van."
"Yes, they did! Someone has to save them!"
There was an exaggerated sigh on the other end, "Listen Zach, I was a dumb kid too, but calling the emergency line for fun is just plain stupid. Someone somewhere could really be in trouble, and I am overworked far too much already to deal with you crying wolf. If I find out this caused me to miss a real emergency, you'll be in big trouble."
"But I'm serious!"
The operator hung up.
…
"In hindsight, it might have been better if I called them, but Zach has the fastest dialing." Clyde remarked.
"Hey, it wasn't my fault they didn't believe me this time!" Zach argued.
"To be real, I'm not sure I'd believe you either, dude." Luna told him.
"You believe us though, right? We wouldn't make up something like this!" Stella told Luna.
Luna nodded, "I do, and I got an idea, follow me."
Luna led the group of kids inside and up the stairs, she went into Lisa and Lily's room where Lisa was working on something.
"Hey Lisa-Lisa, we need your help." Luna told her as the kids got in.
Lisa quickly covered what she was working on with a tarp and turned around, "You saw nothing, what is it?"
"Lincoln was abducted! Don't you have a tracking device or something on him?" Clyde asked.
Lisa shook her head, "Not anymore. Lincoln found it, removed it, and told me if I did that again, I would lose sandwich privileges."
"Sandwich privileges?" Stella asked.
"Yeah, Lincoln makes a mean sandwich." Rusty answered.
Luna scoffed, "I'm not surprised, Lincoln has been acting more like a jerk these days."
Lisa shrugged, "To be fair, considering how much pressure, stress, and outright hazing this entire family puts on Lincoln, I'm surprised he hasn't retaliated sooner. His tolerance level was bound to break at some point."
"As if he goes through worse things than I do." Luna remarked.
Lisa pulled out a remote and pressed a button which brought down a monitor and it played a montage of Luna threatening, bothering, or outright assaulting Lincoln in previous episodes of the Loud House.
Luna was speechless.
"Luna mean." Lily remarked.
"Woah, did I really do all that? I don't remember any of it!" Luna claimed.
Lisa shook her head, "I'm not surprised, considering all the drinking and weed you-"
Luna covered Lisa's mouth, "SHH!"
"Are you all forgetting that Lincoln and Ronnie Anne are missing right now?" Clyde asked, "We gotta get back on track!"
Lisa nodded, "Right, perhaps this can be of assistance." Lisa removed the tarp to show some sort of monitor hooked up to a machine.
"Now what in tarnation is this?" Liam asked.
"This is a radar for detecting supernatural abnormalities." Lisa explained.
"I…didn't think you'd be so accepting of the supernatural, Lis." Luna commented.
"We live with the Grim Reaper and one half of the Goddess of Chaos. My skepticism can only stretch so far. Plus, after all the observable uptake in supernatural entities and events over the recent seasons, I have conceded that the supernatural is not only real but must be thoroughly studied for practical reasons."
"Did someone call my name?" Eris asked, walking into the room.
Rusty smirked, "No ma'am, but I'm glad you decided to drop in!"
Eris politely waved at him, "Oh, you're one of Lincoln's friends! Where is he?"
"The government kidnapped him!" Zach told her.
"What?"
Clyde caught Eris up to speed.
"Oh my…well, how can this machine help us?"
Lisa patted the machine, "Simple, I reached out to the Fentons - more or less the only credible scientists leading in this field - and they shared a thesis with me stating that most supernatural entities leave behind a certain signal that could be traced."
"The Fentons?" Stella asked.
Lisa nodded, "Yes, they're engineering scientists but usually aren't taken seriously due to their paranormal interest."
"So, this machine can track supernatural and paranormal activity?" Clyde asked
"Yes, and Lincoln tends to be smack dab in the middle of a lot of them lately, so much that I can recognize his signal."
"Lincoln has his own supernatural signal?" Zach asked.
Lisa nodded, "Yes. Any other inane questions?"
"How did ya afford all this stuff?" Liam asked.
Lisa shrugged, "I've been sorting the family's finances for five years. I take what I can get."
…
Ronnie Anne awoke sitting up against a wall, looking ahead at another wall. The walls were covered in bizarre wallpaper that was a mainly sickly faded yellow color with odd patterns on them. Looking at them made her head hurt, so she looked down at the floor which was covered with a brownish-yellow carpet, some of which seemed to be wet. Looking up, Ronnie Anne saw a similar colored tiled ceiling with fluorescent lamps buzzing a disconcerting sound.
The entire area just felt wrong to be in.
Ronnie Anne struggled to get up, her body felt like it was still asleep. Whatever those men in black injected her with, it was only just wearing off. That's when her memory started coming back: seeing Lincoln again, the humiliation, Lincoln cheering her up…
"Lincoln?" Ronnie Anne asked aloud.
There was no response.
"Lincoln!" she cried out, "Anyone? HEY!"
Nothing answered her.
Ronnie Anne shook the numbness out of her limbs and started to walk down the hallway she was in. There were no doors or windows, just more hallways which all looked the same. For a moment, Ronnie even wondered if she was going anywhere.
"I wish I had my skateboard…" Ronnie Anne thought out loud.
As if in response, a noticeable "thud" came from behind, and Ronnie Anne whipped around to see a skateboard flipped over on the floor. Excitedly, Ronnie Anne reached for the skateboard but hesitated to grab it, "Wait, where did this come from?" she looked up and down the hall, the only direction it could have come from, and saw some sort of sphere in the distance.
The sphere was a bright blue, it glowed unnaturally. Ronnie Anne noticed two things about it: first of all, it was getting closer. Second of all, everything around it was being sucked into it. The walls, the floor, the ceiling. It was an advancing orb of doom and was heading right for her.
Ronnie Anne grabbed the skateboard and hopped onto it, skating into the opposite direction of the orb. She tried not to imagine what would have happened if she hadn't awakened sooner. The hallway kept stretching forward, but soon enough there was an end which split left and right. Ronnie Anne took the left, skating a bit too fast and lost her balance on the turn, wiping out on the ground.
"No!" Ronnie Anne tucked and rolled as she fell, keeping herself from getting injured. She ended up on her stomach when she stopped, winded but unharmed. She pulled herself up to see the orb absorb the split and head to the right, and soon enough it had vanished into the distance. Curious, Ronnie Anne approached the area where the split was. Or rather, where it used to be.
The floor was gone, the walls were gone. There was nothing there anymore. Looking down, Ronnie Anne could see what was the roof of another hallway that appeared to be growing longer. Following it, she noticed there was another orb eating away at it.
"...yeah, I don't want to be here anymore." Ronnie Anne said aloud to nobody. She looked around for the skateboard but couldn't find it. She wondered if she lost it in the wipeout. With no other option available, she began to jog down the hallway, hoping she'll find another skateboard.
…
Lincoln awoke with his arms and legs inside metal tubes connected to a giant metallic ring. He struggled to get them free for a bit before hearing footsteps approaching him. He looked towards the sound to see a brunette woman with square glasses and a lab coat clearing her throat, "Greetings Lincoln Loud, so nice of you to join me!" She greeted him with a wicked smile.
Lincoln was at a loss for words.
"Speechless I see, well, good. I bet you didn't expect to see me again so soon!" The woman continued.
"Hold on, who are you again?" Lincoln asked.
"I…wait, what?" The woman frowned, "I am one of your greatest enemies!"
"I have no idea who you are." Lincoln flatly told her.
"You thwarted my evil plans!" She raised her voice a bit.
Lincoln shrugged, "Uh, do you have any idea how little that narrows it down? It's been a busy couple of years. I dealt with gods, vampires, and a lady with a big butt who used magic."
The woman groaned, "You kept me from launching that disgusting freak of nature Flip into outer space."
Lincoln suddenly remembered her, "Oh yeah! The rocket scientist lady!"
"I have a name, you know: Doctor Carol Linnaeus."
"Huh, you know, I don't think I ever learned your name."
Dr. Linnaeus shook her head, "You're missing the point! This was supposed to be my revenge, and you ruined it! I had a speech prepared and everything!"
"What revenge? If I remember correctly, Lisa was the one behind your plans failing, I just did the heavy lifting."
Dr. Linnaeus took out a clipboard, "Okay, now the moment is ruined. Let's skip the motive rant, skip the villain song, skip the evil laugh- wait I can still do that, WA-HAHAHAHAHAHAA! Ah, that felt good…"
Lincoln then realized something, "Wait, what did you do to Ronnie Anne?"
Dr. Linnaeus smirked at him, "Oh, that worthless thing? I threw it away. I had no use for it."
Lincoln glared at her, "Okay, you just pissed me off!" his Bedlam Gold glowed, and his restraints broke open, letting him escape from the holding ring.
Dr. Linnaeus smiled, "Ah, you finally decided to use your medallion. So, what's your next trick going to be?"
Lincoln gripped Bedlam Gold, "Tell me where Ronnie Anne is, or I'll destroy everything in here!"
Nothing happened.
Dr. Linnaeus smiled, "How are you going to do that?"
Lincoln looked down at Bedlam Gold.
0, 0, 0.
"...it's out of power?" Lincoln asked.
"This isn't."
Lincoln looked up to see Dr. Linnaeus holding a stun gun up to him. Moments later, an electric charge got sent through him and he fell backwards onto the floor.
Dr. Linnaeus knelt down next to him, "A curious object, your medallion. My research on it only has a few mentions in myths and legends. You're going to tell me how to use it one way or another, though the first thing I've learned is it has a limit…also it only seems to charge when you're awake."
"I…you…" Lincoln struggled to talk.
Dr. Linnaeus took out a syringe and injected it into Lincoln, "We'll continue this after a nap, sleep well, Lincoln Loud."
…
Back at the Loud house, there was a ping on Lisa's patent pending supernatural radar, "That must have been Lincoln! It matches the signals he has been sending out."
"Do you know where he's at?" Eris asked.
Lisa took out her smartphone, "I connect all my devices, and…eureka! I have his precise location on my map! The good news is that he is within driving distance in the Royal Woods area."
Luna took out the keys to Vanzilla, "Okay dudes, let's rock and roll!"
To Be Continued…
We go back to Sir Raven in his living room, "What's this? Another cliffhanger?"
We zoom in on Sir Raven's head, "ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?"
