NOTE: Random story idea, nothing really serious. Figured it would be fun to play with. Don't expect any written out card fights, since this is mostly focused on the characters themselves. Fights will be there but not detailed fully.

Chapter 1: Big Sister
The clicking of high heels bounced off the walls of the hallway like a repetition of bullets. A young woman with shoulder-length blue hair that has bangs hanging on the right side and blue eyes marched forward with barely contained annoyance. She wears a blue, long-sleeve, coat with a white, short-sleeved shirt under the coat, a white belt with two pink ribbons on both sides, and long, knee-length boots. She also wears light blue earrings and a blue choker. This is Asaka "Narumi" of Team Asteroid, the number one ranked team in Japan.
Asaka was having a great day up to this point. Woke up feeling refreshed in her dorm room, took as much time as she needed to get ready, prepped her deck for the National Tournament, and made sure to pray to her custom-made Ren Suzugamori shrine. Her usual routine this time of year since joining Asteroid and attending Fukuhara High School was perfect.
Most of the competing teams would feel nervous at the idea of participating in such a national level event, but not her, no she had no reason to fear. Team Asteroid was the best team to ever grace the league, and nobody even came close to their level when it came to Vanguard.
Well…except Toshiki Kai, but there was no way her Ren would ever lose to someone like him. He was old news, after all.
The same could be said about Team Ceaser. They were nothing special compared to them, especially in the face of Ren's power.
Even with that idiot failure known as Kyou, their chances of losing this tournament were less than zero percent!
By all means, she should be cool, calm, and collected right now…
But instead, her mood was ruined when her eyes came into contact with the roster of teams competing this year. She hadn't paid any mind to the preliminaries since their seat in the tournament was guaranteed after winning the last one. But their advisor/teammate, Tetsu, advised them to at least study up on who they could end up facing just in case. It was a worthless endeavor to waste her time paying attention to a bunch of peons when she could be using it to take care of her darling Ren!
But she listened anyway, took his tablet, and scanned through the list. Each one bored the hell out of her until her dark blue orbs locked onto one in particular: Team Q4 (Quadrifoglio).
It surprised her to see that Toshiki Kai had actually decided to participate, and it seemed to have drawn some actual interest from Ren much to her chagrin. The other two on the list were no-names that she's never heard of before. But the last one…the final name is what caused her to storm out of their private waiting room much to the confusion of her teammates.
And that is what brought Asaka to her current situation of knocking harshly on the door of Team Q4's waiting room. She tapped her foot impatiently as she waited for someone to open the door, her mood worsening with each second.
Thankfully, it didn't take too long for someone to answer the door. She was greeted to the sight of a plain-looking man. He wears a light blue dress shirt with a dark blue collar and cuffs. He wears dark blue jeans on his lower half. His hair is green styled with dull spikes, and he wears black rimmed glasses over his dark grey eyes. The man blinked. "Can I help you?"
"Is this the waiting room for Team Q4?"
"Yes it's-h-hey!" He was roughly shoved out of the way as Asaka stormed into the room. Her cold, calculating eyes scanned the surprised Cardfighters staring her over.
The first is a short young boy who looked ready to shout at her. He has very long, spiky, navy-blue hair, with a ponytail in the back. He wears dark navy-blue shorts, an orange long-sleeved shirt, and a brown vest jacket.
Next is a teenage girl who seemed similar in age with a cold glare being thrown her way. She has long lilac hair and teal-colored eyes. She wears a blue jacket worn over a midriff bearing white shirt and a beige short skirt.
The tall male in the corner that was currently attempting to ignore her was Toshiki Kai. He has spiky light brown hair that curved to the left with light blue eyes. His attire consists of a tan, zip-up, long-sleeve shirt, with a maroon jacket with black accents, grey jeans, and dark grey boots.
And finally, the one she had been searching for this entire time stood in the back as if it would make him invisible. His eyes nervously met her own, noting the disapproval and irritation living within. He is a young teenage boy with long blue hair with a right hair bang with similar eyes to her. He wears a white double sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and black shoes. "A-A-A-"
"There you are…" Asaka's eyes narrowed at him. She stepped closer to him until the short boy and lilac girl stepped in her way. She scoffed at their attempt. "Move."
"No way! I don't know who you are, but I'm not letting you near big bro!" The boy declared.
"...Big bro?" Asaka questioned.
"It's also rude to barge into another team's room. I'm going to have to ask you to leave." The lilac girl threatened.
Asaka quirks a smirk at the threat, finding it adorable. "And if I don't?" The lilac looked ready to toss her out with her bare hands until the protected blueberry interfered.
"W-wait! Misaki! Kamui! Don't do anything!" He exclaimed, stopping his friends from attacking Asaka.
"What do you mean, big bro?! This scary lady was gonna hurt you!" Kamui shouted. He missed the way Asaka's eyes narrowed dangerously at being called 'scary lady'.
"Aichi, what's wrong?" Misaki asked, still keeping her eyes on Asaka. She could see her uncle, Shin, fidgeting by the door, while Kai finally decided to pay attention to them. However, he made no moves to really help either.
"S-she wasn't going to hurt me, Kamui! But…uh…this is Asaka, a member of Team Asteroid." His answer surprised everyone except for Kai, who clearly knew who she was. But what Aichi said next was something that not even the illustrious Toshiki Kai was prepared to hear. "...And she's also my-"
"-His big sister." Asaka dropped the bomb on the team.
"WHHHAAAAAT?!" Kamui and Shin screamed. Misaki and Kai, the usual stoic of the group, were left jaw dropped by the big reveal. Aichi just blushed, scratching the back of his head nervously now that the truth was out.
Kamui was the first to grill him. "Y-you never told us you were related to a member of the strongest team in the country! I thought your only sister was my-I mean-Emi!" Asaka raised a brow at that correction he made but decided to save that for later.
"Kamui's right, Aichi. Neither you or Emi have ever brought up having another sibling." Misaki said, crossing her arms.
Kai kept his eyes focused on the now apparent siblings. He had been pretty bored up to this point, but now he's learned that Aichi has such a connection to a member of Ren's team. It made no sense to him that these two were connected in such a way. Previous interaction with Aichi, especially their match back at Card Capital, pointed to him having no experience with the game or having such relations.
"I-I never meant to lie to you guys! I-it's just that you guys never asked if we did." Aichi rubbed his arm as he thought over his words. "Asaka doesn't visit home much since she left to live on her school's campus, so there's not a lot to talk about. And…" He stops himself, not wishing to continue whatever last point he had.
Shin moved a bit closer. "I'm confused about something." His attention turned to Asaka. "Your last name is different from Aichi and Emi's name."
Asaka sighed, annoyingly. "My legal name is "Sendou". The "Narumi" was our mother's name before she married our father. I simply use her name for matters regarding our team. And those reasons are none of your business." Asaka sent a glare the man's way, making him back away.
"If that's the case, then why are you here?" Kai speaks for the first time. He stands up straight from leaning on the wall. "I'm guessing this is more than a routine sibling visit."
"AH! I know! She's probably here to spy on our team to help her own!" Kamui assumed.
"As if, pipsqueak." Asaka rolled her eyes. "Team Asteroid has more important things to do than worry about some low ranked team that lucked their way here."
"Excuse me?" Misaki's eyes narrowed.
"What? Offended?" Asaka goaded the lilac on. Misaki's eyes were burning with anger at the fellow teen's disrespectful attitude. "It's true, you know. The only one on this team even worth something is Toshiki Kai, but even he pales in comparison to my splendid Ren."
"Then what about your own brother? Is he not worth anything?" Misaki asked, nearly hissing.
"Heh. Thanks for reminding me why I bothered coming all the way here." Asaka pushed past the two to stand over her little brother. Aichi stood his ground but still buckled slightly under her intense gaze. There was a hint of softness that flashed as their eyes met, however Asaka buried it down just as fast. "You should forfeit."
"W-what?!" Aichi flinched.
"You're too weak for this stage, Aichi. You've always been weak, needing others to protect you. Just go back home to mom and Emi, already." Her words were like ice cold daggers stabbing into his chest, plummeting the temperature in the room. "To have such a weak little brother is honestly a disgrace. Just leave and save us both the embarrassment." Asaka's chilling words left the others shocked, except for Kai. He stayed silent as he watched the interaction happening. Aichi kept his head down, his bangs covering his eyes and preventing anyone from seeing his face.
"HEY! You can't talk to him like that!" Kamui yelled.
"What is wrong with you?! Aren't you siblings?!" Misaki hissed, angrily.
"You're right, we are siblings, therefore stay out of it!" Asaka spat at them both. She turned away to leave the room, uncaring how her act soured her in the eyes of Aichi's teammates. "He knows that I'm right. We on Team Asteroid despise the weak, only the strong are allowed to survive. I can't be associated with someone who needs others to protect him." As she stepped through the door, her brother's voice erupted.
"You're wrong!" Aichi's shout stopped Asaka cold. She whipped around to see that her usually soft, timid little brother was glaring at her. "I-I have changed! I'm not like how I used to be! Thanks to Vanguard… I've managed to grow! I made it all the way to Nationals with my friends by my side!"
Unknown to them, her hands clenching in response. The blueberry's declaration mingled in her head like some mantra. That look in his eyes was far different from her memories of him, almost like a different person. Asaka whips back around to keep her face hidden from him. "If you're so willing to stay, then prove it."
Asaka storms out of the room, her heels clicking loudly against the marble floor. As the door closes, Misaki and Kamui round on Aichi with concern in their eyes.
"Big bro! There's no way you and Ms. Emi can be related to someone like that, right?!"
"Are you okay? If you need to sit the first round out after that, then we'll understand."
"G-guy! I'm okay!" Aichi pushed against their support. "I-I can keep competing."
"Are you sure?" Shin asked.
"Yes. I'm fine." Aichi answered.
Misaki crossed her arms, glaring at the door. "Still…to think she would say all of that to you. I don't have any siblings myself, but something like that is entirely unwarranted."
"I-it's okay, guys. I'm sorry about the way she acted. Asaka wasn't always mean like that or so…cold." Aichi's eyes turned downcast.
"If it's painful, you don't have to-" Shin stopped when Aichi raised his hand.
"No worries, Shin, I'm more than fine. We still have time before everything starts, so I can explain our history. Back when…" His eyes shifted out to the giant screen outside where Team Asteroid's faces were plastered. Aichi stared at his sister's teasing face. "...When our relationship wasn't so rough."
Asaka stomped through the hallway, scaring anyone from attempting to get in her way. Her mind was fully occupied with the thoughts of her little brother and his team.
You're wrong! I-I have changed! I'm not like how I used to be! Thanks to Vanguard… I've managed to grow! I made it all the way to Nationals with my friends by my side!
He made it to Nationals.
He has friends ready to defend him.
And he actually stood up to her instead of buckling in fear.
A soft smile curled upon her lips, a warm emotion filling her heart. Her little brother had grown, he wasn't forced into doing anything he didn't want. She could remember a time when she thought such a thing would be impossible, where he'd remain a victim for his entire life.
She remembered a time where he depended on her for everything.
The sun's light illuminated the city streets, blessing everyone on this fine summer day. Two kids could be seen running on the sidewalk, the taller one was dragging the shorter one behind her. On their backs were two colorful book bags filled with school supplies. "C'mon, Aichi! If you keep going slow, we're going to be late!"
The little boy struggled to walk a bit, a few Band-Aids licked his kneecaps and face. But he looked fine for the most part. "A-Asaka, you're running too fast! I can't keep up!" He inevitably tripped, falling onto the sidewalk.
Asaka stopped, her uniform cap, bouncing lightly from the loss of momentum. Asaka turned around to help her brother back up. "Aichi! You have to stop being so clumsy or else the other kids will never stop making fun of you!"
"I-I don't try to be…" Aichi mumbled.
Seeing his depressing mood, Asaka stood up and pressed her fist onto her chest. "Well, don't think too much about it! If those mean bullies ever give you trouble, then you can count on your big sister to kick their butts for you!"
Aichi smiled warmly at her, appreciating her support. "T-thanks, Asaka." He holds up his hand for her to take.
"No problem." She takes his hand into her own, squeezing it lightly as she helps him up. "What is family for? I'll always have your back."
But those times were over, a piece of her that she couldn't touch anymore. Aichi and Emi found their parts to play, and so did she. As the oldest sibling, she felt relieved that they didn't need her anymore but that remained to be seen.
Standing up to his big sister is one thing, but standing against Team Asteroid was a completely different level. His friends, resolve, and efforts would mean nothing if he were to lose.
Aichi claimed that he wasn't weak anymore, that he could stand on his own two feet. While the sisterly part of her wanted him to prove that claim, she knew that it was hopeless. Nobody stood a chance against them.
And, if given the chance, she'll prove it to him.
Chapter End
NOTE: This story isn't anything plot heavy, and updates probably won't be super frequent. Just an idea that I got and thought it might be fun to spitball.
It would really be focused on Asaka and the Sendous with the plot of the seasons mostly being background.
Have a great day!
