KingVessel: I would like to state that this was a fun chapter to write, because whenever I thought I was making Lordgenome do something too outlandish, I watch the original fight and remember that not only was he REPRESSED AS FUCK while still having a shit-ton of Spiral Energy, he also inspired Simon to later mimic his move of getting the fuck out of the robot to throw hands if the robot wasn't enough and WIN(at least in the second movie). That's right, Spiral King Lordgenome is that guy who legitimately claim "My mech is weaker than me".
Chapter 08: LORDGENOME!
"A vista I once saw. A quaint tranquility."
Lordgenome could still remember that fateful sunset. He had lived an idyllic childhood with his pet armadillo, especially in the city playground.
"Small hopes."
Even back then, he had always loved to create. Little sculptures of animals frequently surrounded him in a lazy spiral, all borne from separate molds of clay.
"Take those away from a man, and he will stand up."
And then, the attacks from beyond the stars came, wiping away homes and entire cities. But along with attacks came those strange machineries. He hadn't known how they'd worked back then. But it thrived from his spirit. And soon, many others joined in his example and followed after him.
"The hope they hold within, as well as their place in evolution, calls forth tremendous power, and the man does battle."
And with their power, he raged against the Enemy. Even if it seemed that he would have to wage war against every single star in the sky, he would never stop.
[Thereby, the requirement to learn the meaning of "Despair" was met.]
...no.
No.
NO.
That could not-
It was impossible-
It couldn't be-
If it was, then all of their effort-
All those worlds-
All those lives-
A planet, severed.
A sun, ripped apart.
A galaxy, dispersed into exploding residue.
And so it went and went until-
suddenly
there
was
absolutely
nothing
left
but
a
cruel
aching
empti-
[People ask themselves, "Why do we fight?"]
No. This could not happen. No matter what it took.
["Why do we kill?" "Why are we overthrown?"]
Even if he had to betray his own comrades.
Even if he had to slaughter all of his allies.
Even if he had to subjugate his own brethren.
[They go to their graves, never learning the answers.]
The Spiral Nemesis must never manifest.
[Thus is their bliss.]
With a heavy heart, he turned Cathedral Terra against his own home.
"Humanity, hear me! You foolish species!"
Disabling Dekabutsu from Cathedral Terra, he used its factory to create a new species that would absolutely possess no potential for harnessing Spiral Power. And after that, came the perversion of his comrades' armaments into tools for the subjugation of Humanity.
"Know terror! Terror in the face of my absolute power!"
With a fist of iron and for the sake of its preservation, humanity had to be... culled.
"Prostrate yourselves before overwhelming terror and despair!"
For the continued survival of his kind, they must fear the urge to break beyond the depths he would be burying them into.
"Kneel before the Spiral King!"
For the continued survival of his kind, they must fear the Spiral King.
"Slumber deep beneath the surface, you foolish species."
...well, at least he still had Guame.
"Thus is the destiny of this world." [Thus is the destiny of this world.]
And now... a particularly rebellious bunch of humans had surged forth before him. Looking at Nia now, with her little army and that red Gunman, it seems the beastmen were no longer capable of triumphing against them.
Then again, along with his own daughter, the humans had three Spirals amongst them.
Despite himself, despite all that had happened up to this point...
"Dekabutsu, launch."
This brought a smile to his face.
Having just defeated Dai-Gundo, Shinji watched in shock from above as Teppelin suddenly began overhauling itself, dropping numerous buildings upon a good number of their unfortunate reinforcements, revealing the massive megastructure to be... "That's a gunman?! It's head piercing the clouds!"
"Eh? Wait, I'm getting responses from within Teppelin. It's..." Kinon's gasp was sharp, even through the comms. "It's Watashi... and two other Gurren-Lagann-type signals!"
"What?!" Leeron wasn't the only one to exclaim that, Shinji feeling just as shocked.
"There're two other signals in there just like Gurren-Lagann!" Kinon clarified. "But something's... wrong about one of them... It's a lot stronger, but so... weird."
"Weird how?" Dayakka asked.
"It's just that... It shows up with the same wavelength that Gurren-Lagann gives off, but its also blipping out now and then." Kinon sounded frustrated with her own description. "It's like its constantly trying to hide itself but totally failing at it!"
"I have a visual on them, I think!" Shinji reported as he now hovered above the clouds as well. Atop the colossal gunman's head was what looked like a glass domed area. And after magnifying the camera view to enhance image, he saw not only Watashi next to an unfamiliar gunman, but also a large bald man staring right at him. "I see them! Simon, Rossiu, come up here!"
"Right!" A moment later, Gurren-Lagann burst through the clouds, coming to a hovering halt beside him. "I-Is that?"
"Yeah." Shinji answered Rossiu's surprised query while letting his camera feed be shared with the others. "That's definitely the Spiral King. And judging by Watashi over there, the other gunman must be Nia."
"Get in contact with Rei's comms!" Yoko demanded.
"We cant!" Tetukan reported. "We cant reach Watashi at all!"
"Why haven't they started attacking him yet? No, nevermind all that!" Gurren-Lagann charged forth immediately, a giant drill manifesting over his fist. Snapping out of his surprise, Shinji pushed Nigenai into following his Commander's lead. "Let's defeat him! Right here and-"
Big.
That was the very first thing to pop into Shinji's head when a titanic finger suddenly rose through the clouds and towards them, a brilliant clash of emerald energy bursting forth from where Gurren-Lagann's drill and Nigenai's fist clashed against it with enough force to clear away the nearby clouds.
Then the finger flicked them both away, easily conveying how contemptuous the Spiral King had found their efforts. Dangerously spinning about as they fell, the Pilots did their best to try and hopefully reorient their gunmen.
"Simon! Shinji!"
Thankfully, Dai-Gurren had managed to move just in time to catch them both before they crashed into the earth. "Are you boys okay?"
"Somehow..." Shinji rubbed his aching head.
"Ditto." Simon groaned.
"But just now, the drill and Nigenai's attack weren't able to penetrate it at all..." Rossiu fretted. "Rather than attacking upfront, we should come up with a plan to attack from a distance."
"That's not likely to work." Shinji protested as he eyed the colossal gunman. "With something as durable as that, a barrage of attacks from afar won't make much of a difference. A better option would be to use that barrage as a distraction and slip through Teppelin's defenses. Then we could confront the Spiral King from the inside."
"Let's do that, then." Simon decided. "Gurren-Lagann and Nigenai will join Watashi and Nia's gunman. Will anybody else be coming along?"
"I sure as hell am!" Kittan declared. "I can't rest until I kick that bastard's ass!"
A chorus of agreements surged forth from the others in the Gunmen Squadron.
"Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like this plan's going to be easy." Dayakka stated, causing them all to realize the numerous flying gunmen that had begun flying out of Teppelin's body. "On top of that ridiculous defense, it looks like he's still got plenty of soldiers to spare."
"Ha! Well, I guess he needs that much to deal with the like of us!" Kittan boasted. "Hey, all of you! Prepare to carve a path of Simon and Shinji! It's the Dai-Gurren Brigade's final showdown! Don't hold back anything!"
The following roar from all of the others nearly crashed Shinji's comms. "We'll be counting on you guys, then."
"Yeah. Let's go!" Simon commanded, Gurren-Lagann and Nigenai patiently standing aboard the bow as Dai-Gurren rose.
"Dai-Gurren, launch!" Dayakka ordered as the fourth-tier gunman picked up speed, Gabal following his order earnestly while the other gunmen flew at Dai-Gurren's sides protectively. "Here they come!"
At that warning, multiple laser blasts rained down upon them, downing gunman after gunmen with every volley. In their own credit, the Gunmen Squadron gave back as much as they took, tearing through enemy gunmen with unfiltered fervor.
"Move it!" King Kittan roared as it destroyed two gunmen in a single swipe, then headbutted a third one with enough force to launch it away just as all three of them exploded from the swift damage. "Come one, come all! Who's next?!"
"We ain't losin'!" A salvo of cannon blasts followed Attenborough's declaration, providing cover fire for some of the others in the squadron as well as their reinforcements from afar. At least the few ones who had survived so far-
Shinji winced as one of them clashed directly against an enemy gunman, immediately beginning to box each other furiously until both gunmen exploded. It seemed callous to privately admit, but Shinji was probably better off no longer paying attention to those idiots.
Especially when remembering how many had thrown themselves towards Dai-Gundo's tornado...
"There's an opening in the swarm to the upper right!" Kinon reported, Shinji quickly confirming it himself.
"Right! Don't miss this chance!" Dayakka commanded as Dai-Gurren rushed towards the gap, Gurren-Lagann and Nigenai readying themselves again with a massive drill ablaze in emerald energy.
"If we combine Gurren-Lagann, Nigenai and Dai-Gurren's power...!" Simon growled, his teeth baring as Teppelin's left arm rose to reveal a titanic mallet rushing towards them. But even so...!
"GO!" Dayakka and Leeron roared together, the three gunmen smashing into it with enough force to stop the hammer dead with Dai-Gurren's front half buried within.
"FIRE!" Dayakka and Attenborough roared together, unleashing all of Dai-Gurren's payload into the hammer and causing it to violently rupture. But they weren't even done yet!
"KNIFE ANCHOR!" Dayakka and Gabal roared together, Dai-Gurren's blade-shaped bow firing forth with a chain and two giant missiles as it's thrusters, finally smashing into the Spiral King's throneroom.
"We're in!" Shinji declared as he and Simon stared down at the Spiral King, the man grinning as he glared back up at them.
"Alright!" Multiple cheers rang from his radio. "This is your stop, Simon, Shinji!"
However, a muffled explosion immediately followed Dayakka's words. "Wait, what was that?!"
"What's wrong?!" Simon asked. "What was that explosion?"
"Don't worry." Dayakka replied. "Simon, you and the others over there just need to focus on Lordgenome."
"But..." Simon muttered.
"Hurry up and go!" Yoko shouted. "We've all given up so much to get to this point. Don't start turning back now!"
"...understood." Simon nodded in acceptance, prompting Gurren-Lagann to jump fully into the throneroom. "Follow me, Shinji!"
A second later, Nigenai landed next to Gurren-Lagann, no verbal reply given or needed.
"And now, all four Spirals have made it here." Lordgenome spoke from his throne, completely unbothered by the four mechanical behemoths staring him down. A second later, a blade stabbed into the ground when Gurren-Lagann tried to step forward and almost lost it's leg had it not dodged with a backflip.
"Well dodged." Viral's voice rang out as Enkidu stepped forward while dropping it's camouflage and equipping all four blades. "As expected, Simon!"
"Leave Viral to me." Simon stated as he stepped forward.
"I'm not the same person that you could say such words about today. Thanks to His Majesty, I've obtained a body that can fight continuously without the need for sleep!" Enkidu charged forward and slashed at Gurren-Lagann relentlessly, only to be constantly parried with a single arm. "I've far surpassed other beastmen! This will be your grave, Simon-"
*CRUNCH!*
"Wh-What?!" Viral exclaimed as all of Enkidu's blades were suddenly all caught in Gurren-Lagann's hand before immediately being crushed. "Th-This shouldn't be! Why?!"
Gurren-Lagann offered no verbal retort, immediately punching forward with drills on both sides of its fist. Drills that Enkidu desperately tried to catch, only to falter then those drills immediately tore through its clenching hands.
"Viral... you're hopeless."
"Your Majesty?!" Viral exclaimed in disbelief.
"The immortality I gave you isn't capable of helping you defeat these humans." Lordgenome stated as Gurren-Lagann's fist drills finally broke through with a brilliant flash of emerald, sending Enkidu crashing into the wall. "In the first place, there's no way a beastman could rival a human who has evolved into a Spiral. You may possess a body that will never die... but I never gave it to you for the sake of battle. You are to instead speak of the Spiral King's triumph for all eternity."
"Your triumph...?" Viral weakly repeated.
"Just witness it all from there... the fate of these foolish humans... and the futility of rebellion against the Spiral King's authority."
Solvernia's cockpit suddenly opened, allowing Nia to step forward and reveal herself. "Father."
"...you cut your hair." Lordgenome noted. "It seems that you've been well with your friends."
"Tell me why, Father." Nia demanded. "Sealing people underground and killing those that roam the surface. Why would you do such horrible things?"
Lordgenome chuckled before bursting into an amused laugh. "Ignorance is quite frightening. I don't know if it's because you believe in your own justice, but... I am the one who protects this world. The guardian of all humanity... is the Lordgenome before you."
"That's nonsense." Shinji protested. "How can you call yourself a protector with all of the people you've constantly killed? All of the people that died at your command?! Whether they're our comrades or your soldiers, everybody that has died so far just today did so because of you!"
"Shinji-san is right." Nia agreed. "There's no such thing as a guardian who kills the people he says he's protecting. Haven't you noticed all that is wrong with the world?!"
"Nia, the world that I have created is the only path for humanity to survive." Lordgenome replied. "I can no longer let you all, who have strayed so far from this path, to continue doing so. For the sake of humanity... I sentence you all to die."
A narrow drill suddenly tore through the ground and towards Nia, only to be immediately knocked aside by Watashi's quicker backhand.
"A splendid reaction time, girl." Lordgenome commended as the drill became whip-like and reeled itself back just as quickly as it had appeared, standing up from his chair and letting his upper robes fall off to reveal a hairy and muscular figure. "Then again, your Spiral Power feels just as formidable as your comrades... It is pitiable how you all wield such power without even knowing the destruction it will bring about. I will show you all... how foolish that is! "
His throne suddenly morphing from it's spiral shape to flatten itself into the ground while the six silent concubines around him moaned as they were all suddenly encompassed in glowing drills that drove downwards into the gunman that was suddenly revealed to be beneath the throne.
"You are not the only ones to possess Spiral Power." Crossing his arms, Lordgenome stood still as he boarded it, his gunman rising up while copying his posture as it crossed its arms as well. "I shall have you all comprehend... just how little you know of this power... with this Lazengann!"
Seventh-Tier Assimilative Spiral Gunman
LAZENGANN
"That's... That's the other signal Kinon told us about!" Rossiu exclaimed. "He has a Lagann as well!"
Unfolding it's arms, Lazengann crouched a little before leaping.
At least, it attempted to do so, only to find Watashi's tentacles already coiled tightly around its arms and neck.
"I do not think so." Rei grunted as she swerved Watashi about, swinging Lazengann off the ground and towards Nigenai's glowing fist. But even as Nigenai approached, Lazengann was able to dodge it's swing and punch back so hard the gunman flew back with enough force to get its upper half buried in the wall. "Shinji-kun!"
Rei's inattention cost her as Watashi's midsection became wrapped in the crushing grip of Lazengann's tail, her gunman groaning from the strain while its own grips on the Spiral King's gunman loosened.
"You bastard!" Simon roared as Gurren-Lagann charged forth, massive drill spinning wildly. Unfortunately, both Simon and Rossiu flinched when Lazengann suddenly flung Watashi towards them.
Then before they could even react to that, Lazengann somehow reached Gurren-Lagann faster than Watashi did and delivered a punishing kick to its face. Utilizing the motion from that attack, Lazengann smoothly continued with a lariat that the thrown Watashi unfortunately flew right into. However, that briefly left it open to a spear from Solvernia as it suddenly dropped down from above to drive it through its right side.
"How surprisingly ruthless of you, my daughter." Despite his words, Lordgenome had an approving grin on his face. Reaching up to grip the spear, Lazengann immediately ripped it out and leapt into the air, swinging it and Solvernia around until he then smashed the latter into the ground.
*BLAM!*
An explosion suddenly rocked Lazengann's side, Watashi having fired at it with her arm cannon from where she'd been dropped. Not letting up, Rei fired three more times with each shot knocking Lazengann back a step.
Until he suddenly burst out of the flaming smoke to shoulder check her through the wall, finally damaging her gunman beyond further usage.
"Amazing..." Viral muttered from his spot, completely ignored by the others. "Despite being outnumbered, His Majesty's completely dominating them all...!"
""LORDGENOME!"" Both Shinji and Simon roared as Nigenai and Gurren-Lagann charged at him from opposite sides, their cocked fists ablaze with emerald energy. Unfortunately, that was turned against them when Lazengann leapt several meters straight up, allowing the two gunmen to punch each other before dropping down onto them with both feet smashing into their heads.
"Haaaa!" Charging from his blind spot again, Nia had Solvernia launch a blazing kick into Lazengann's side that slammed home with enough force to bury it partially in the wall. "Are you all okay?!"
"Yes! We're fine!" Rossiu replied from within Gurren. "But we need to check on Rei, as well."
"I'll do it." Shinji spoke up as Nigenai charged forth just as Lazengann did the same. "Cover me!"
"Got it!" Simon replied, right on his heels.
Nigenai slid down underneath Lazengann's swing, leaving the briefly confused gunman to take a punch to the face from Gurren-Lagann. Then the two grappled against each other, Lazengann's slender build in odds with the immense strength that was slowly overpowering Gurren-Lagann's slightly larger body.
"There was once a man who fought like you all." Lordgenome chastised. "Not knowing that his actions would lead to humanity's destruction."
"What are you talking about?!" Simon questioned.
"There's no point in clarifying any further." Lordgenome replied, his arms still crossed through it all. "Especially to soon-to-be corpses."
Kicking the crimson gunman away, Lazengann fired a drill whip that was hastily batted away by Gurren-Lagann's sunglass blade. Then Lazengann fired four more drill whips at Gurren-Lagann, forcing the latter to throw two sunglass blades that tore through them as they spun towards Lazengann and restrained its limbs.
"Now!" Simon declared. "GIGA... DRILL... BREAAAK!"
Gurren-Lagann shot forward, the massive drill powerfully activating as it was thrusted forward at Lazengann... only for the attack to utterly fail when it's torso face caught the drill in its fangs and crushed it.
"I-Impossible!" Rossiu's disbelieving gasp became worse when Lazengann flexed, destroying the sunglass blades that had restrained its limbs and delivering a vicious counterattack that pinned them up against the wall with several drill whips perforating Gurren-Lagann's body before it was allowed to fall down. "N-No way. How could he be so... so terrifying?!"
"Don't give up." Nia encouraged him, Solvernia standing protectively before Gurren-Lagann. "No matter how terrifying he seems, we came here knowing that Father was a person all beastmen hold as their superior, having the intention to defeat him."
"...Nia's right." Simon agreed, raising up Gurren-Lagann to stand beside Solvernia. "That's how the Dai-Gurren Brigade does things, surpassing the impossible and kicking reason to the curb. We don't have the capability to falter before terror. Rossiu, believe in the me who believes in you! We can still fight!"
"Really? Can your words truly be backed up by your actions? Let's test that!" Lazengann shot forward with a punch that Gurren-Lagann caught, it's other punch being restrained by Solvernia. "Oh? So this is your plan?"
"Yeah! "We're a team, after all!" Nia replied. "Now, Shinji-san!"
"Super Karate Chop!" From behind, Nigenai leapt up and came down with a glowing hand that chopped down deep into Lazengann's left side, allowing Gurren-Lagann to rip it off entirely and fling it away.
"I see..." Lordgenome muttered as Lazengann stumbled, it's left side sparking wildly from it's missing limb. "To think that you could all exude so much valor before me. Very well, bring forth all of your will and hopes. It is my duty as the Spiral King... to crush them all!"
Of all things they could've expected from that moment, none of them even entertained the idea of the Spiral King bursting forth from his own gunman, his bald head ablaze with crimson fiery energy.
Then their shock grew when Lordgenome blitzed from view, reappearing with his fist buried into Solvernia's gut, causing Nia to shout as her gunman got smashed through a wall as well. Lordgenome's grin stayed up even as Nigenai's fist came down on him from above and into the ground, as he then proceeded to punch back with enough force to push back the entire limb, severely damaging it as well in the process.
"Not bad... but not enough!" Lordgenome declared from his spot, looking down on them all despite his smaller size in comparison to them. "Power, tactics, determination... You all fall short in comparison to me. Tell me, just what did you think, mere children of a few years, could accomplish against one who has ruled for centuries?"
"Stop yapping!" Gurren-Lagann raged with Simon's voice. "Nia... Yoko... Shinji... Rei... Rossiu... Leeron, Kittan, Dayakka... Everyone in the Dai-Gurren Brigade believes in me! Aniki believed in me! I believe in me! We will not lose to the likes of you!"
A bright flash of emerald energy burst forth from Gurren-Lagann, practically adorning it in cosmic green.
"Then prove so!" Lordgenome roared back as he charged forward, Lazengann disassembling and reassembling around him to clash against Gurren-Lagann, ablaze in vermillion flames as well.
With a thunderous crash, both mechanical titans smashed fists against the other's face, unleashing a shockwave that devastated the throneroom even further and risked the others present being blown away.
Undeterred, Gurren-Lagann moved back into Lazengann's space, throwing forth a fist brimming with cosmic green. Then six hundred more followed all in the span of about ten seconds. "Take this!"
"It's useless to try and match me!" Lordgenome roared as Lazengann matched Gurren-Lagann punch for punch, his own wreathed with repressive crimson. "Useless! Useless! Useless! Useless! Useless! Useless! Useless! Useless!"
Neither gave the slightest thought to blocking. Both were focused solely on offense, shooting forth punches capable of shattering entire buildings against the other's fists and body. Debris and flames flew around the two like a raging tornado as the shockwaves and impacts of their blows finally obliterated whatever that was left of the throneroom.
Even more curious was the tiny trails of green that had begun to seep into Lordgenome's crimson energy.
It wasn't long before the sheer force of both attacks finally blasted them both back, their gunmen beginning to fail on them. Lazengann fell apart once more, both of its arms falling off as it collapsed to a knee. Gurren-Lagann fell to a knee as well, Gurren disconnecting as Rossiu slipped into unconsciousness from sheer exhaustion.
Stepping forth on its own, Lagann held up it's arms at the ready with even its cockpit exposed to reveal a haggard Simon.
"So small... That appearance of yours is quite deceptive." Lordgenome commended as he approached. "To think that a child like you could lead such a rebellion and generate so much Spiral Power. Fate sure has a humorous mind."
He finished his words with a punch towards Lagann, his fist visibly denting the incredibly durable metal. A moment later, Lagann swung back with equal fervor, knocking Lordgenome back. And so it went, the two leaders' battle having devolved into a slugfest while their followers could only watch from their respective positions.
"It's been a while since I had this much fun, boy. Simon, I believe? I'll be sure to remember you." Eventually, Lordgenome decisively ripped off Lagann's arms, finally grabbing Simon's head to drag him out. "Now, back to the underground with you all!"
*STAB!*
Lordgenome choked as Simon suddenly stabbed something into his chest, an ominous shine of green cracking into and through his body. "A Core Drill?!"
"I refuse." Simon growled as Lordgenome released his head and tried to pull away, unable to do so as the energy built up rapidly. "Whether from the underground, or from a coffin, we all pushed our way out and came here seeking our freedom. No matter what you declare, we will be free!"
Simon twisted the Core Drill as if turning it on, causing the enormous energy to rupture through Lordgenome's body with enough force to briefly brighten up the dark night.
"I see... To think that not only did your Spiral Power surpass mine, you weren't even yet capable of channeling it through your body instead of your Core Drill..." Lordgenome spoke weakly, even when he should've immediately died from the massive hole that had replaced most of his torso. "I wonder how long you can carry that burden before you regret it."
"Wh-What do you mean by that?" Simon queried.
"I'll tell you one thing..." Lordgenome directed his gaze up to the full moon above. "When one million monkeys fill the Earth, the moon shall become Hell's messenger... and destroy the world of Spirals."
"What does that mean?!" Simon shouted back, sounding just as confused as Shinji, Rei, Nia and Rossiu currently felt.
Lordgenome merely replied with an audacious grin, prompting Nia to try and catch him when he let himself fall backwards and off the ledge behind him, his body crashing down several meters below.
Nia quietly stared down while the others slowly came up to her. "...farewell, Father. I will face towards tomorrow."
"Farewell... my daughter, Nia."
An enormous shudder spread through out Dekabutsu, generating cracks that quickly swallowed up Viral.
"Everyone, we need to leave!" Rossiu called out, prompting them to run as Dekabutsu began breaking down along with all enemy gunmen shutting down.
Soon enough, Gurren-Lagann and Nigenai flew away from the wreckage, Solvernia and Watashi in their respective arms. Similarly enough, the female pilots rode with their male counterparts, Rossiu casting a suspicious glance at the moon as Dekabutsu's right arm conveniently landed in a way that pointed right at it.
"Hm?" Rei made a curious hum as she noted the rising sun, serenely nestled in Shinji's laps and against his chest. "Shinji-kun, how did an entire day and then night pass by so quickly?"
"...let's not question it." Shinji decided, Rei agreeing with a sleepy sigh.
"Hey. Get up."
Viral groaned as he slowly came back to consciousness, sitting up to find himself pulled free of the rubble. "What happened...?"
"His Majesty has fallen." Mona declared as she looked down on him from above, her waist covered by bloody bandages. "So... I'm directly asking this from one revenge seeker to another."
Mona crouched down, her cracked goggles glinting ominously. "What did His Majesty do to you that allowed you to recover from your lower half being crushed by several tons of debris... and how do I apply that to myself?"
KingVessel: Y'know, Rei actually makes a good point, but Shinji's also right in not questioning it. On other news, I've now successfully gotten through the first of the trilogy!
