Everything Changes

An: This is a long one and it basically wrote itself. Enjoy.

Sunday morning found Bella sitting around her kitchen table with Alice and Emmett. The two had showed up at seven sharp on Bella's doorstep with freshly made pastries from Esme and a large cup of coffee from Pike's Coffee House, the only drive-thru coffee place Forks had. Bella was still dressed in the blue boxers and black tank top she'd worn to bed, and the white cashmere sweater that she'd come to live in was wrapped snugly around her body.

Her hair was tousled and untamed, and her eyes were still blurry with sleep as she smiled in welcome to her companions. The two had been bouncing with barely contained excitement when Bella had allowed them inside and as they sat across from her now at the table, she could see that they were about to implode.

She took a long sip of her coffee, held the warm paper cup to her chest and tapped her chin in playful confusion. "So, why is it that you've woken me up at seven am, on a Sunday?"

Alice pouted playfully as Emmett sat there grinning like a mad man. "Seeing as we're your best friends it's only right that we get the privilege of the first date follow up."

Bella laughed at Alice. "It wasn't a date."

Emmet slapped his hands on the table loudly. "Fine. It wasn't a date, but you guys hung out all day yesterday and we want details."

"Alice, I know you already saw what happened." Alice didn't look ashamed at Bella's accusation so she continued. "And I'm sure Edythe heard all about it, so why do you need me to retell it?"

The two shared a look, then sighed in unison and folded their arms across their chests. They really looked like siblings at that moment and Bella wanted to laugh at their serious faces. "Edythe has made it a point to not read Rosalie's mind, something about 'respecting privacy'?" Emmett recounted in a mocking tone.

Alice nodded emphatically. "And my visions aren't like a tune-in movie Bella! I only see the big stuff, besides Rosalie has forbidden me from using them to spy on you two so please, stop stalling and start spilling."

Bella giggled into her cup on her next sip. "Right, and you deserve the details because suddenly you're my best friends, and not say Angela and Jessica, who I've known for years?"

Emmett looked offended and ready to defend himself but Alice placed a calming hand on his muscular arm with a smirk directed squarely toward Bella. "You'll know us longer aaaand considering the fact that we know each other's biggest secrets-"

When Bella gave a questioning look, Alice explained by first pointing to herself and Emmett, "Vampires."

Then she pointed to Bella and simply said, "Charlie." Bella nodded in understanding and let her continue. "To put it simply; we want to claim our spots as best friends now and just save the hassle. Why do we have to wait to be here for you when we can just do that now?"

Emmett snapped his fingers and pointed at Alice, "Exactly, I'm glad we agreed to let you explain it."

Alice gave her brother an exasperated look. "We didn't agree, you lost at rock, paper, scissors…twice."

Emmett pouted. "I thought we agreed not to bring that up?"

"Again, we didn't agree, you ordered me not to."

Bella waved her hand to stop them before they could get started. "Okay, okay. How about we agree that there shall be no fighting when spilling tea in the super secret best friends circle?"

"Agreed." They answered in unison.

Bella watched them form a moment, completely amused by everything they did, she grinned. "Emmett, you were totally right before, you're so a part of the girls' club."

He grinned back at her proudly. "I know, right? I would have been such a fabulous gay man." He sighed wistfully.

Alice nodded in agreement, "You should see him with eyeliner."

Bella gasped, "You've worn eyeliner?"

Emmett winked at her, "It was all the rage in the 80s." Bella shook her head with a laugh, and he continued. "I was hotter than Rosalie."

Bella gave him a disbelieving look. "No one is hotter than Rosalie."

The two grinned and Bella realized they had successfully brought the conversation full circle. "Speaking of Rosalie…"

Bella rolled her eyes at Alice, then sighed and decided she might as well get it over with. "She came over. We watched movies. She went home. That's it."

Emmett scoffed, "That's boring."

Alice slapped his bicep. "She's being vague on purpose you dolt." Emmett pouted. "Now, what did you talk about?"

Bella grinned, "Oh the talk, you wanna know about the talk?"

"Yes!" They exclaimed in exasperation. Bella smiled softly as she thought about last night, took another sip of her coffee and started to tell the tale.

/Flashback/

Somewhere in the background of Bella's room, Hocus Pocus played out, mostly unwatched, on Bella's TV. They'd been steadily going through Bella's list of Halloween movies with the holiday being next Friday, and this one was Bella's favorite. They'd spent most of the day playing twenty-one questions in between films and Bella's 'human moments' but those bits of information had drifted to more serious topics as the night progressed.

They laid side by side horizontally across Bella's bed so that their legs dangled off the side of the full mattress and their heads laid directly under Bella's bedroom window. Bella's cast had come off earlier that morning, much to both girls' surprise and relief, and Rosalie was playing with the fingers of her newly freed hand. Ever so often she flipped it this way and that way as though she were inspecting the once fractured arm to be sure it was truly healed.

"Can I ask you something?" Bella inquired softly as Rosalie finally put their hands down onto her stomach and held them there. Bella could feel Rosalie's steady, but unnecessary, breathing.

Rosalie turned her head to look at Bella, catching Bella's eyes as she was already watching the blonde intently. "You can ask me anything."

Bella smiled slightly, "Really?"

"Really." Rosalie confirmed with calm confidence. She seemed so relaxed here in Bella's space, like there wasn't a care in the world, Bella envied her slightly for it.

So Bella looked back up and through her window, concentrating on the stars as she spoke. "Doesn't it get tiring, being so aware of everything all of the time?"

Though Bella couldn't see it, Rosalie scrunched her brows in thought, tapping her fingers along Bella's arm, she posed her own question. "Is this about your 'human moments', as you like to call them?" She giggles a bit on 'human moments' and it makes Bella smile despite herself.

"Yes, I mean it's not awkward for you? It is for me, and like, what about when I get my period? How is that supposed to work? And what about when I'm at your house and have to go to the bathroom? Omg, you can hear your parents doing it!" Bella felt a flood of embarrassment at the sudden realization and her face flushed a bright scarlet.

This time Rosalie let loose a full belly laugh as she rolled to her side to fully face Bella. Bella though didn't see what was so funny and pouted at the blonde. "Okay, okay. I'm sorry, but I was not expecting that last thought." Rosalie giggled again though Bella could tell that she was at least trying to stop her laughter. "Firstly, no it's not awkward for me. Think about this logically, would we really be able to spend so much time in public without dulling and ignoring certain parts of human life? No, we wouldn't. We can tune in and out when we need to, so stop worrying about going to the bathroom around us. No one faults you for it nor do we find it awkward because we do try to give you all the privacy we can. And yes, that goes for sex as well. Vampires are primal creatures, and our Coven is full of mates. We sound proof as much as possible and like I said, we try to give each other privacy. "

Then Rosalie took a deep breath and turned a bit more serious. "As for your period." Bella scoffed in embarrassment and tried to turn her face away from Rose, only to have the blonde capture her chin and make Bella have eye contact with her. "Stop, you brought it up and it's important that we talk about these things. Now, yes, I can tell when your cycle starts, I've been around you before while you're on it."

Bella knew this logically, Rosalie had moved to Forks at the beginning of August right before school started, but Bella hadn't known she was a vampire then.

Rosalie continued. "Not to get too graphic, but that blood doesn't cause hunger like blood from the vein. It's old. What it does do is enhance your natural scent…I don't know a lot about human/vampire relationships, few do, but I become more aware of you, if that's even possible. I've noticed that I want to be more attentive to you, more protective."

Bella smiled slightly, it was better than her being disgusted or thirsty. "Okay, I get it, but what about if I fall and scrape my knee or get a bloody nose?"

Rosalie thought about it for a moment before answering. "Your blood is very fragrant, Bella. It's one of the most delicious, mouthwatering scents my family has ever come upon. If you were to bleed in front of them, the only one I'd be worried about is Jasper, not because he lacks self control, but because he's an empath, he'd be able to feel everyone's thirst for your blood, no matter how strong and it would intensify his own, and he is the 'newest' to the vegetarian lifestyle. Even if that were to happen, I know my family would protect you, and I, well I would never allow you to come to any harm, Bella. You must at least know that by now?"

Bella nodded thoughtfully. "Okay, but what if it's a bad accident?" Bella looked at her freshly uncasted arm as though it were an example.

Rosalie brought the arm up and kissed Bella on the wrist softly while holding Bella's eyes. "This might come as a surprise to you, but I've never tasted human blood."

Bella was shocked at this, not that she didn't believe Rosalie had self control but never? "You've never killed anyone?" she asked in shock.

Rosalie smirked sinisterly. "That isn't remotely what I said." Bella's heart beat just a bit harder. "I think it's time to talk about how I was changed, but I have to warn you, it's a bit horrific, and more than a bit theatrical.

"It started in Rochester, New York, 1933…"

/End Flashback/

Alice and Emmett stayed unusually quiet while Bella spoke and toward the end they both wore grim faces. Bella's stomach was responding in time and she set her coffee down as a wave of queasiness hit her. She hated to think about what Rosalie went through on the night of her death but she did take sick satisfaction in what Rosalie had done to those men, and all without drinking a drop of blood, while being a newborn. Bella had enjoyed every depraved thing Rosalie confessed to almost as much as Rosalie herself revealed in it. Bella had only wished she'd been there to do more to them before they met their deaths.

Bella blinked back to reality and away from those dark thoughts only to find Alice staring at her as though Bella was the monster in the room. "Bella…"

Emmett's head spun between the two, lost as Bella just stared Alice down. "What…?"

Bella shook her head at him but didn't waver from her gaze on Alice. "It's not like I could." But she would, if she could. Bella insisted as she was sure Alice had seen all the dark things Bella's mind had come up with in the short vision she had.

Alice nodded, looking less perturbed and more astonished. "So you really don't have a problem with us being monsters?"

"Who are you calling a monster?" Emmett threw his hands up, fed up with being left out.

Bella frowned and leaned forward over the table, hands folded and resting in front of her as she spoke. "Monsters might be a little overdramatic, don't you think?"

Alice rolled her eyes and waved her off, "Every single one of us are living dead who have killed people, most of us have drank from the humans we've killed. We're literally Vampires, but you two take offense with the term monster?"

Bella nodded along with Emmett. "Uh. Yeah, Alice, we do."

Emmett reached over and gave Bella a high five, which she happily reciprocated. "Damn right." He added a nod, showing his total agreement.

"Fiiiine…But you're really okay with all of it? I was expecting more freaking out once the glamor wore off and you realized this isn't all daisies and rainbows." Alice explained but Bella shrugged her off.

"My life has never been about daisies and rainbows. Really Alice, I might act casually but I've really thought about it. I get it that there are so many hang ups that come along with being around Vampires for me as a human. However, like you've pointed out many times, you're my best friends and Rosalie, well let's just say I don't think she's disappearing any time soon. Besides, everyone has their quirks."

Alice giggled and shook her head while Emmett smiled proudly. "You really were meant to find us."

Emmett agreed quickly before he started to talk about which couples costume he and Edythe were wearing this year. Bella hummed and made comments where it was appropriate, but really she was thinking about other things. Like, was she really meant to find the Cullens? To find Rosalie? Plus, she wondered if Rosalie was dressing up for Halloween? That's definitely something she wanted to see.

"Emmett and Alice were singing your praises when they got home this afternoon. Not that they shouldn't be praising you. I for one think you should be praised all of the time." Rosalie stopped to wink at Bella as she drove. They'd been out driving around for hours doing nothing and were just now heading back to Forks. "Did you have a good time as well?"

Bella smiled and held Rosalie's hand just a bit tighter in her lap. "Yeah, I did." She sounded surprised.

"Surprised?" Of course, Rosalie noticed.

Bella laughed lightly and allowed Rosalie to lace their fingers together. "Yeah, sort of. Alice was more than happy to explain the ins and outs of the family's powers, especially hers, so I know her visions are subjective. It all depends on a person's determination to make that choice and stick to it. If someone makes a snap decision she can't see it, or say if someone makes more than one decision or is undecided and going through their options it clouds and distorts her visions."

Bella took a moment to breathe and Rosalie looked at her impressed. "You've done your homework on this. So, what does that have to do with you liking them?"

Bella smiled, "Let's not pretend that I'm someone who doesn't struggle with abandonment and feelings of being unwanted…"

"No, you?" Rosalie answered jokingly.

Bella rolled her eyes and continued, "I could have just decided to not go down this road. I could have ran."

This time Rosalie smirked at her, completely taking her eyes off the road as the car swerved around the hills. "You wouldn't have gotten very far." It was a warning and a promise, Bella could feel it in her gut. Rosalie's eyes were bright from her hunting this morning and they sparkled intensely under the heat of her gaze.

Bella swallowed thickly as Rosalie made another turn flawlessly and without looking again. The longer Bella took to answer the faster the car drove as though Rosalie was using it to further prove her point. Rosalie looked dangerous. Bella licked her lips. "Point proven now look at the road!"

Rosalie did not do as requested and instead she leaned toward Bella, half leaning on the console as she went. "Are you scared?"

Bella shook her head because amazingly no, she wasn't afraid that Rosalie would lose control of the car, but she was afraid of getting pulled over so close to Forks, and yeah okay, the speeding was a little nerve wracking but Bella wasn't going to admit to that. So instead, she denied it. "No, o-of course not."

Rosalie's smirk turned darker as she looked at Bella and for a moment Bella thought she might say something completely bitchy. Bella was ready to respond in kind, until Rosalie opened her big fat mouth and squashed her anger and stoked a new fire.

"Kiss me."

"What?" Bella whispered harshly.

Rosalie's eyes continue to burn with undulating joy. "If you're not scared, then I dare you…to kiss me."

That's when Bella realized that Rosalie was no longer just talking about her driving. She was implying that if Bella wasn't scared of her and of falling for her, then Bella should just kiss her and prove it. She was indeed calling Bella out. Bella did not like it. "Look at the road, Rosalie."

Bella could feel the car jump as Rosalie pressed harder on the gas, luckily they had just come out of the hills and this was the straightest part of the highway for at least fifteen miles, but that didn't mean anything when Rosalie was driving so fast. "Kiss me and I'll look at the road, Isabella."

Bella glared at the nerve of this woman, this temptress. Bella absolutely did not want to kiss Rosalie, she really, really wanted to kiss her actually but she couldn't, she wouldn't. Because Bella knew the moment she kissed Rosalie, she'd lose the game. It'd be over, done for, she'd be Rosalie's for the taking and she'd lose any sense of self-preservation she had left. Absolutely not. "No."

"So you are scared?" Rosalie instantly teased, stroking both Bella's arousal as well as anger at being called out. Damn the way this woman got under her skin.

"No, I am not!" Bella hissed.

Rosalie turned off her headlight and punched the gas instantly making Bella gasp and grip the hand in her lap tighter. Then Bella's nightmares all came true. Red and blue flashing lights lit up behind them. Bella cursed. "Ooh Bella, I really should slow down now…so come on, one little kiss on the cheek, and all is forgiven."

Bella had two choices, either a: hold on to her pride and possibly end up in jail after a high speed chase or b: let Rosalie have this one, the cheek was better than on the lips. She had to make the choice now as Rosalie played with the stick of the headlights as though she were unsure as to how they worked. In half a second Bella made her choice and swooped in to kiss Rosalie's cheek.

All at once Bella's world came to a screeching halt and so did the car. In the split second it took for Bella to close the distance between her lips and Rosalie's cheek, Rosalie had turned and caught Bella's kiss as a simple and very short peck to the lips instead. The headlights were now on and Bella could see smoke from Rosalie's tires and hear gravel flying as the cop pulled over behind them.

Bella's heart has never beat faster, she felt like she was fucking flying on the adrenaline coursing through her system. Her face resembled a shade of dark red wine and she needed a change in underwear. And none of it had to do with the possibility that they could go to jail.

Bella sat there in dazed confusion all the way through the traffic stop. She didn't even blink as Rosalie flawlessly flirted her way out of the numerous tickets they should have gotten, and the cop leaving them with only a firm warning. Rosalie didn't pull off yet, and when Bella looked at her, she looked like a devil who had stolen their first soul.

"You fucking bitch."

It was then that Rosalie pulled off again, cackling as she did so. "I did warn you, Bella." Rosalie smirked at the road, "I bet Alice didn't see that coming."

Bella disagreed, she hadn't been prepared for this. Rosalie was a downright maniac, and God did Bella love it. She hid her smile all the way home.

It's nine when Rosalie rolls into the driveway and all of the downstairs lights are on in Bella's house. She's come home later than that before and Charlie was never one to care about her activities but he was acting differently lately and she didn't know which Charlie she'd be greeted by. Especially seeing as every now and then she could see his shadow pass by the kitchen window, either he was drunk and getting beer or he was peeping out the window looking for her.

She turned to Rosalie who was sitting there unbothered. "What are the chances he got a call from the station?" She asked with dread.

"Oh 100%, right now he's pacing and arguing with himself on how to handle this…" She paused and tilted her head, likely listening in. "If he should handle it…oh, and he's wondering if you've always been wild or if I'm a bad influence…evidently he's heard the talk around town. Now he's moved on to himself being the bad influence and you just being a teenager going through change. He is sober though, at least there's no scent of alcohol."

Rosalie smirked at the end and Bella scoffed and threw herself back into the leather seat. "I do not want to deal with this now."

"Then don't."

Bella whipped her head around to look at Rosalie so fast she thought she might have whiplash. "What do you mean 'don't'? Am I supposed to just run directly upstairs and ignore him? Because I'll fall up those stairs, Rosalie. You know I will."

Rosalie laughed at her. "That's too funny, my poor clumsy human." Bella cracked a smile at that but quickly hid it by biting her lip. Thankfully Rosalie didn't call her out on it. "Bella, you're eighteen. You don't have to go in."

Bella frowned, "Where else could I go?" She didn't mean to sound hopeless when she said it, but it's what she felt at the moment, because she didn't have anywhere else to go.

Rosalie looked at her seriously and without a hint of humor, she said, "Come home, with me." She took Bella's hand tightly. "You're always welcome where I am."

There would be one hell of an awkward conversation with Charlie later if she did this, but would it be any worse than the conversation waiting for her right now? Probably not. The Cullens' home was big, Bella had seen a guest room or two when she'd been there, but would she be comfortable sleeping in Rosalie's home? Nevermind the fact that Vampires don't actually sleep and they'd be able to hear her should see talk in her sleep.

Bella looked at Rosalie and saw nothing but honest intentions and her mind was made up. "We should leave before he decides to come out here."

Bella was blinded by Rosalie's smile and then the car was screeching out of the driveway and down the street. The woman was not subtle in their getaway, and yeah, she might be a bad influence but Bella was perfectly okay with that.

It started to rain halfway to Rosalie's home, so when they arrived, Rosalie parked in the garage and they entered the house from there and ended up in a small hall that led to the back of the living room. Bella could see Emmett's huge frame as soon as they stepped in. He was sitting cross-legged in front of the massive flat screen, a gaming controller in hand. Bella only saw Edythe when the girl leaned back and exposed her position right next to her mate, controller also in hand.

Edythe looked disappointed when she looked at Rosalie. "So much for a proper courtship."

Bella felt offended even though the comment hadn't been thrown her way. Edythe shouldn't be reading Rosalie's mind and then judging her for it, hell, nothing they did tonight was anything Bella hadn't willingly gone along with. "Not that it's any of your fucking business though, right Edythe?"

Everyone in the room let out an audible gasp, everyone but Rosalie. She just smiled at Edythe viciously. "Point. Set. Match."

"I'm so sor-"

"Do not finish that sentence, Bella. You're absolutely right, it's none of her business." Rosalie cut Bella off before she could fully apologize.

Then Esme walked in and Bella felt twice as bad for cussing. "Rosalie is right, sweetheart, but let's mind the language everyone. Now, why don't you come into the kitchen and help me finish your dinner." Esme outstretched her hand and it took Bella two seconds to speed walk from Rosalie's side to Esme's. She even allowed the woman to hold her hand.

Bella did have the sense to turn around and mouth 'I'm sorry' to a chuckling Rosalie, but the blonde just waved her off with a wink. When they passed the front door and grand entrance Bella spotted Alice leaning over the railing. Bella waved up at her, "Hey bestie!"

Alice gave a cheeky grin as Jasper appeared behind her and gave a wave of his own. Bella responds in kind. "Having quite the night, aren't you, bestie?"

Bella blushed, "Shut up, Alice."

Esme chuckled and pulled Bella further into the house. "Don't mind Alice nor Edythe, it's been a long time since they've had a new sister."

She said it so casually that Bella almost missed it, but she didn't. Bella didn't know how to feel about it, part of her was happy because it was another confirmation that she did have a place in the Cullen home. The other part of Bella was scared that she'd do something to mess this up.

They enter the kitchen and Bella's hit with the smell of Esme's chicken soup, it smelled just the same as when Esme had made it for her the first time. God, it seemed like ages ago when Rosalie and Esme showed up on her doorstep.

"I hope soup is okay? I thought since you liked it last time I'd just make it again, is that alright?"

"Yes, of course." Bella rushed to answer, "You didn't have to make me anything, so thank you."

Esme gave her a look that she couldn't decipher, like she was sad and happy at the same time. "Of course I had to."

Bella shuffled her feet, nervous and unsure how to respond so she moved on. "So, what do you need me to do?"

Bella sat on a stool by the kitchen's island where Esme had placed her to eat while the woman busied herself with cleaning. She had asked question after question about Bella's school work and about when Bella was younger, and it seemed no matter how Bella answered, Esme listened intently. Bella had never had a parent so infatuated with what she thought and what she'd been through, but she liked the attention.

Esme had this aura of loving warmth and Bella couldn't help but to soak it up. She could only think about how this is supposed to be how a mother acted. After Bella's last bite her bowl and spoon was swept away before she could try and even offer to wash it. Bella smiled at the woman's back and sat quietly as Esme hummed some unknown song.

The rain was hitting heavily upon the roof and Bella could hear Emmett and Edythe shouting loudly at the TV and then at each other. She could hear faint pop music coming from upstairs, presumably from Alice's room. Rosalie was upstairs in the shower, and she was trying her hardest to not think about that while in a house full of Vampires. Bella felt safe and happy, and like she was welcome regardless of Rosalie's direct presence, and it was dangerous how good she felt in the Cullen home.

"Carlise's home!"

It was shouted from both Edythe and Alice seconds before the sound of the front door opening hit Bella. Esme perked up immediately, making Bella grin. There was a sound of murmured conversation as he walked through the house, each of his 'children' shouting out a greeting, and Bella was confused at how different his relationship was with his fake children compared to her relationship with her biological dad.

"Ah, my nose didn't deceive me! Bella's here!" Carlisle cheered as soon as he stepped into the kitchen, and sure it was a weird greeting but his charming smile and warm, delighted eyes more than made up for it. He kissed Esme fondly on the lips then looked back at Bella. "Is Kitten having a sleepover on a school night?"

He was teasing, Bella knew that but she was also very suddenly aware that no one had asked if she could be there. "Um yeah, that's okay, right? I mean, Charlie was waiting for me when we got home, and he may have gotten a call from the station because Rosalie and I may have been pulled over on the highway and probably could have ended up in jail and-"

"Bella." Carlisle placed his hand on top of her fisted hands and very gently squeezed them until Bella looked up from the countertop and in his eyes. He smiled warmly, reminding her that this was the same man who had taken care of her so sweetly at the hospital. Bella took a deep breath as she tried to shake off her nerves.

"You are always, and I do mean always, welcomed here." He said. "You don't need to ask, you have our permission, even if Rosalie's not with you."

"And why wouldn't I be with her when there's nowhere else I'd rather be?" Rosalie kissed Bella's cheek after strutting into the kitchen. Bella swooned and blushed, and was so grateful she decided to appear when she did, Carlisle had made her a bit emotional.

"Very smooth, Rosalie." Esme grinned as she teased her daughter.

Carlise smirked at his wife as he gathered her into his arms and dipped her with a kiss. "She gets it from her father." He winked at Bella as he released his mate. Esme smacked his arm and shushed him but she looked extraordinarily happy.

Bella leaned against Rosalie as the blonde wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Insufferably charming blondes run in the family?"

Esme let loose a laugh as Carlisle and Rosalie pretended to be offended.

"You bet they do!" Alice yelled from upstairs.

"Brunettes can be just as charming!" Emmett defended from the living room with a shout of his own. She could hear Edythe say something but it was too low for her to hear. Bella laughed anyway though.

Carlisle cleared his throat and shared a meaningful look with Esme, then they both turned to Rosalie and Bella. "I really am glad you two decided to come here tonight, and I wonder Bella, if we're not being too presumptuous, we were wondering if you would like to have a conversation about Charlie?"

Esme stepped in before Bella could say no. "We only want to make sure you're safe, sweetheart, and we understand you're going through a lot right now, so if you want to talk about it, we're here. Like Carlisle said, our door is always open to you."

Bella debated it. She was going through shit that she never thought she'd have to deal with and all of it was just accumulating inside her like a twisted ball of anxious rage and she knew she had to talk about it with someone eventually, but how was she supposed to explain it? Bella glanced at Rosalie and the blonde looked back at her so softly and understandably that Bella could feel that twisted ball rise up until it was stuck in her throat.

"I-I just don't understand him!" She groaned frustratingly and ran her hands through her hair. "Or her. They're supposed to be my parents and all they've given me is shit! I've been alone my whole Goddamn life and I was fine with that, you know? I adjusted. And now he wants to get sober and he even asked me to come see him get his chip? Like what the fuck is that? He's never cared about me being here, so why now? Why is he doing this now?"

Bella took a deep breath as Rosalie rubbed her back, but no one interrupted so she kept going. She couldn't stop now that she was talking. Feeling the need to move, and feeling more anger as Rosalie comforted her, she shrugged off Rosalie's hold and started pacing the kitchen floor.

"And then there's you!"

"US? You're mad at us?" Rosalie asked in disbelief.

Bella whirled around on her and glared. She was seething. "Of course I'm mad at you! You enter my life like a bat from hell, only you're fucking perfect and your family actually cares about one another, and you all act like you care about me and it makes me so fucking mad because I don't trust it because why in the fuck would you choose me?"

Bella's face was on fire it was so red from her anger and from yelling. She didn't even know why she was yelling at this family because surely they didn't deserve it. Charlie deserves it. Renee deserves it, but not the Cullens. They wouldn't want her around after this, but she couldn't stop now that she started.

Bella started pacing once more as she spoke. She was quieter but no less aggressive. "I don't understand how you can want me when my own family never has." She felt the tears before they fell, and when they did she stopped dead in her tracks and looked at the floor. "E-everything is changing and I-I don't know what to d-do."

The second she heard her voice crack and get shaky she was done. The floodgates burst wide open and she was crying under the weight of all her emotions.

The Cullens could only listen as Bella broke down in the kitchen. Each of their undead hearts goes out to the girl. It was a curious thing, to be these powerful beings and yet, they couldn't just magically heal her pain. They had all come to love Bella in their own way and they knew she was to be a part of their family, it hurt them to see her this way, but they also knew it had been brewing.

Jasper was having the hardest time upstairs, though he had spent the least time with Bella, he could always feel her. Right now, he was hunched over on the edge of Alice's bed, his mate was curled around him as he cried in unison with Bella. Though Bella was unaware, she wasn't going through this alone. He tried his very best to ease some of her pain without taking away her right to feel everything she was currently feeling. He wanted to shoulder some of the burden for his perfectly human little sister.
