The mix of curiosity and subtle challenge in Vi's eyes was almost overwhelming, drawing Caitlyn in like a moth to a flame. In a low, flirtatious tone that was almost a purr, Vi said, "You know, if you wanted to spend more time with me, you could've just asked, Cupcake." Caitlyn's cheeks flushed a deep shade of red, and she fumbled for a response. C-Cupcake!

1. Word from Author

This is my first time actually focusing on a FanFic that I really feel passionate about!

I have written a couple of snippets of certain moments that I REALLY feel strongly about but never followed through on multiple occasions and now they've been completely forgotten. So I realise that while I am still lucid, I better start penning down my overly imaginative thoughts into a well-thought out storyline that not only I would enjoy, but people like me too.

I chose the title "Ephemeral" for my story because it perfectly captures the fleeting, transient nature of moments and emotions, reflecting the impermanence and beauty of youth, love, and campus life. It adds a poetic and reflective tone, hinting at deeper themes of appreciating the present and the allure of things that don't last forever.

I use alot of music to set the mood for the scenes that I wrote for and try to incorporate that into the storyline as well - so feel free to take a listen and vibe it the way I do. If not - introduce me some! I love all kinds of music, all genres - even screaming songs; like love is love, music is life.

This story is loosely based on the Valentine's Day skins of Vi and Caitlyn, and Vi's heartfelt letter that literally BROKE me (and kicked me to write SOMETHING): All set in their second year of University life (I am basing it from where I come from, which is Singapore so if I get my facts wrong from where you're from, this is why. Don't hate me).

I re-imagined Vi's tragic past from Arcane into something that I feel she deserves, and Caitlyn's upbringing all loosely based off Arcane. There might be some (or maybe A LOT) of twists, out of character storylines included (yes I am pretty twisted) - and I haven't decided if I want to include SMUT because 1) I am HORRIBLE at it, and 2) This is meant to be a slow-burner and authentic type of story-telling focused on tugging your heartstrings and feel SOMETHING for my version of AU.

So, imagine our real life modern era with the Arcane twist.
I haven't worked out the specifics but I will do it along the way. Eitherway, my head's messy with all of these ideas, detangling them takes time so feel free to be as confused as me.

Thank you to RiotGames for creating a wonderful, beautiful universe of Runeterra! I am having the craziest obsession for their artworks, story lores and character build-ups. Not to mention League of Legends was my OP game when I just discovered PC gaming. And the glorious Arcane - without this, I wouldn't have been pushed to do something more.
