Raiden and Ice Blister are sitting on top of the Rangers station and Raiden is wiping her eyes, as she had been crying. Ice Blister nuzzles her, trying to help her calm down*
Ratchet climbs up to the top using his mag boots*
Ratchet: Hey...Kiddo...
Raiden: Hey...D-Dad...
Ratchet: You...need some company...I brought snow cones...
*He holds out two rainbow snow cones and she took one. Ice Blister glares at Ratchet*
Ratchet: Almost forgot...*he takes a bag of fish crackers from his pocket and pours it in front of Ice Blister. The dragon happily licks it up*
Raiden looks out into the city and sighs, closing her eyes in pain*
Raiden: I failed...I made us look weak.
Ratchet: Qwark and Quantum made us look weak. That course was filled with faults. Who bult that thing?
Raiden: But I still could've beat it.
Ratchet: Raiden...I know you're disappointed but sometimes things happen...sometimes it's bad...sometimes it's not...other times...it can set you on a course for something great.
Raiden: Like when you met Uncle Clank...and mom...
Ratchet: Yes. And I'll let you in on a little secret. When I first tried out for the Rangers, they said I didn't have what it takes...
Raiden: Because you wanted to destroy the space time continuum?
Ratchet: Can't believe you remember that story. But...that was part of it. I felt sad too. And I wanted to give up on everything.
Raiden: But...Uncle Clank...crash landed on Veldin and...
Ratchet: And helping him set me up to be a Ranger.
Raiden: I don't think anyone is going to crash land and ask me to help them dad.
Ratchet: That's not what I'm saying sweetheart. My point is no matter how bad things get, something good will come your way. Never give up on your dreams. Always trust yourself.
Raiden: I want to be a hero and save everyone in the galaxy.
Ratchet: That's a good dream darling. Although, one of the downsides of being a hero is...you can't save everyone all the time.
Raiden: You can't?
Ratchet: No. Remember when I told you about General Azimuth. I couldn't save him...from himself or that blast at the Great Clock.
Raiden: I remember when you told me about him.
Ratchet: Yes...I couldn't save Clank from being taken by the Zoni, I couldn't save Cronk and Zephyr from the Progs...you can't save everyone...
Raiden: But at least you still make a lot of friends...
Ratchet: Not all the time. Some people thought I was some freak, others thought I was weak...there were only a small group of individuals that didn't see me as such.
Raiden: Mom, Uncle Clank, Aunt Kit...
Ratchet: Yes and no...I had...other dimensional friends...
Raiden: *gasps* Jak and Daxter? Sly and Bently? Those guys? When you were abducted by those aliens...
Ratchet: Exactly. Sure they had a few snide comments but they didn't push me away because of it.
Raiden: have you met others...from dimensions?
Ratchet: Yes. And they were very hostile. Fought me for no reason. Some claimed to be heroes. Others claimed to be villains. I...was the only one to get out...it was horrible Raiden.
Raiden: So being a hero...is both good and bad?
Ratchet: No...being a hero is a great dream...it's just...difficult. I'm not trying to derive you of your dream. I'm just letting you know the dangers of it. I don't want to lose you...darling.
Raiden: I understand dad...I'm happy that you and mom are my parents.
She leans into him and he holds her close*
Ratchet: And I'm proud that you're my daughter...my special little girl...
