Chapter 2: "Aqua"marine Hoshino.
Timeskip - 3 Years Later.
POV: Aqua Hoshino
When I was told I was gonna be reborn, I never thought it was gonna be like this….
"You're such a good boy Aquamarine!" Ai Hoshino, or who I have come to know in this life as my mother, remarks to me happily as she lifts me up.
Now I'm not judging, because I was named a ramen topping in my last life…..but what the hell kind of a name is AQUAMARINE!? Whatever, it beats being named after food at least, besides….it kinda fits with the color of my eyes.
"Ah, that's my sweet boy! There there." My mother Ai pampers whilst lifting me up and down in hopes to get a laugh out of me. I must say that my mom in this life is just as beautiful as my last, her purple starry eyes could consume me like a void if I'm not careful.
In fact, I've never experienced the love of a mother before, it's…..nice. Her pampering me while I sit in her lap makes me feel tired. I could almost fall- asleep… "Ahhhh Ha ha! Ah! Ah!"
Oh come on! I was just about to fall asleep for crying out loud! "Coming!" My mom replies with a smile to the annoyingly loud female twin sister I have now…..
Ya know Sasuke made this sibling thing look cool and fun while Itachi was still in the village, but now I just feel like that shtick was a bit overrated. "Now what's the matter my sweet Ruby?" Mom asks happily to Ruby Hoshino, my twin sister. Honestly her name is fitting because of her ruby pink eyes, the left one having the star that I'm missing in my left.
Ruby continued to cry, which was even more annoying compared to a few seconds ago, now that she's right next to me. "Why are you still crying Aqua?" My mother asked with full obliviousness, though I suspect she does it on purpose sometimes. Who cares though, it's funny to watch her mess up our names from time to time, so much so it might actually make me chuckle.
"Ya know, I can't tell if you actually mix and match them or not." A male voice of an older man spouts out whilst walking into the room with someone I had come to know as Ichigo Saitou, the president of my mom's agency.
This man however is Gorou Amamiya, our personal babysitter. From what I've heard, he used to be a doctor down in the countryside, but with mom having two children, twins no less, he decided to resign and sign with the agency Ichigo runs.
"Alright alright, calm down Ruby, Gorou is here." Gorou remarked to my sister, which instantly calmed her down to no one's surprise. My sister has always had this weird obsession with him, it's honestly kinda creepy how much of a fondness she has for him.
"Ya know, you're lucky Dr. Gorou here offered to sign with us and look after them personally, otherwise you'd be a hopeless mother with no future." Ichigo remarks with surprising truth to his words. I mean who else would look after us? The president's wife!? She'd be way too overworked!
"I know, and I'm glad he stayed, he's been a big help for the past 6 months…." Mom replied before smiling brightly, bowing to the Doctor in gratitude. "Thank you Dr. Amamiya, for everything you've done for me and my kids."
I don't really know much about Gorou myself, he spends most of his time with Ruby rather than me so I'm left bored most of the time. What I do know however is that he's a humble person with a good heart, so that's why I understood him waving his arms back and forth before saying "Oh no no no please its my pleasure. Seeing you get back on your feet is more than enough for me. Besides, I promised myself that I'd keep your family safe."
"Speaking of getting Ai back on her feet." Ichigo commented before slamming his hand on a white board. Which, going by the text on it…..it could mean one thing. "As of today, Ai returns to being an idol!"
"We're gonna discuss your activities going forward. The first step of your comeback is a concert tonight." Ichigo revealed to everyone in the room with a serious face, and to nobody's surprise it lit up Gorou's face immensely.
Yeah for some reason this guy is a super fan of my mom, but I really could care less. None of this idol stuff is really interesting or entertaining to me, but the people of Japan eat it up like it's the best thing ever….
"It'll be broadcast live, but you're up for it, right?" Ichigo asks mom curiously, her smile said as clear as day what her was gonna be.
"Of course!" Mom replied.
"While you're working my wife will act as your manager, but of course I'll be there too at the times I'm needed." Ichigo remarked plainly whilst his wife stood at his side. Now I'm a pervert like Pervy Sage was, but I'll give credit where credit is due. The pres's wife is HOT!
It's a damn shame we weren't born in the same age groups. "Your wife is pretty young huh? The other members are super turned off by the way you favor young girls." Mom pointed out with a sly smile.
"That's news to me, I'll be careful" Ichigo shrugs off whilst his wife Miyako gives him a minor look of disappointment.
"Is it okay…..if I bring my kids along?" Mom blatantly asked.
"Hell no it's not okay!" Both Ichigo and Gorou yell out at the same time, to which I don't blame them. I mean what kind of question is that when you're an active idol!?
"Bringing the kids out during work hours is extremely risky and a dumb move!" Gorou berates justifyingly, which doesn't surprise me at all considering his status as a super fan.
"He's right Ai, if word gets out that you became a mother of 2 at 16 you can kiss your idol career goodbye! Not everyone is gonna be as understanding as Gorou!" Ichigo yells out whilst sweating profusely.
He has a point though, if anyone outside of our circle finds out that Ai is our mother then his agency will be doomed to fail. If you think about it it's kind of like a one way ticket to hell, heh heh…..
"Are you even listening!? You won't get that happy and fun future you want for your family if you keep being reckless like this Ai! Why do you think I decided to join the president's agency? It was so you wouldn't have any problems doing any of the natural things that normal mother's go through with their kids!" Gorou spouts out while going on and on about how he's the one who will protect us and blah blah blah you get it Ya know!
"These Japanese men are such pains aren't they Ruby?" Mom pampers whilst patting MY head, proving that she is once again a hopeless mother with more to learn.
"That's Aqua!" Ichigo and Gorou yell at the same time, all before my mother lets out a laugh that could only inspire doom to come! I mean surely that's what it is…..right? How can you even confuse the two of us when I'm blue and she's ruby-pink! HER NAME IS IN HER EYE COLOR WOMAN! She has to be doing this on purpose…..
Honestly I don't know how'd she get by if it weren't for the president, his wife, and most of all Gorou watching out for her. "Rehersal's start soon, let's go." Ichigo orders after wiping off the whiteboard.
"Kay!" Mom replied before sitting me down on the couch and getting up, turning to look at me with a smile. "I'll see you soon Aqua!"
Like how Ruby had an attachment to Doctor Gorou, Mom has always had this strange attachment to me, but honestly I love it…..I've never felt a mothers love before so it's nice….
Timeskip - Many Hours Later.
"Ai…..can't-...miss-…..live-….concert….." The gracious Doctor spouts out while dozing off into the world of dream land, I mean who could blame him after an exhausting day of taking care of 2 baby twins. Dr. Amamiya, despite his claims of being the quote "Ai superfan", even he has his limits.
Which is why I took the liberty of recording the concert for him later, because I have no intention of watching such boredom. "Let's see, what do we have to watch here? Surely there's something to watch on this tv…." I thought to myself aloud whilst flipping through channels, no longer concerned about the baby act anymore since all the adults have vanished to their own jobs.
Nothing looked appealing as I kept flipping through channels, so that's when I started to dig through moms old recordings, but that's when something that would change my future happened… "Huh? What's this….?"
"Japan National's Number 14, Jinpachi Ego retrieves the second ball! He passes it up to Japan National's Number 9, Noel Noa! Things seem to be getting heated as they continue to push up! Number 9's defense and speed can't seem to falter, what an incredible display of strength! Wait, hold on a minute, hold onto your seats folks, because it looks like Number 9 passes it up to Japan's Number 11, Kazuma Kamiki! It's just Number 11 and the goalie now! Japan National's Number 11 shoots! GOAL! Would you look at that folks, Japan's number 11's shooting skill is still unmatched! Together with these three, Japan seems to be unstoppable!" An announcer yells over a recorded sports match.
I didn't know it yet, but at that moment my life changed. Something worth living for had just called my name, landing in my lap as if I was chosen for this. From that day on I fell in love with the sport known as….. "Soccer huh..? Cool…!" I thought aloud, my eyes changing for the first time, filled with desire as the iris turns from blue to a black swirl with a white star emblazing in the center.
There's a saying that in the future I have come to live my life by ….You will know when a revolutionary Striker is born…..because they'll look for where the Soccer is at its most intense!
"Hey! Hello! Are you even listening to me!" It was then that I snapped out of my trance, realizing that the voice calling out to me was my "beloved" sister Ruby snapping her fingers at me.
"H-huh? What now! Can't you see I'm watching something?" I ask in annoyance. I mean who wouldn't? That was an intense game dammit!
"Don't get all angry with me, why didn't you wake me up! You know I don't wanna miss momma's live performances, because-!" Ruby shouts before I cut her off.
"Because live broadcasts are best watched in real time, yeah yeah I know." I finish for her, though she isn't wrong. In my past life, hearing about a fight and actually being there to see it are two different things entirely, let alone being in the middle of it.
"Well if you knew that already then you should have woken me up! This body of mine always gets tired, so let's help each other out!" Ruby chastises me, but honestly I could have cared less about what she wanted.
Honestly she kind of annoys me sometimes, but maybe if I lie she'll get off my case. "I tried waking you up several times, it's not my fault you wouldn't wake up! Tch….dumbass.." She'll never know it, but I said that last bit under my breath so that she wouldn't hear me and complain more.
"Huh? You did?" Ruby asks with a shocked expression, making me thank the gods that she bought the lie.
"Yeah, I did, but that doesn't matter now cause I already recorded it for you." I reveal to her, causing her to gasp before grinning.
"Thank you Aqua, you're the best!" Ruby thanked me profusely before practically snatching the remote out of my hand, which was honestly pretty rude if you ask me.
Now you might be asking why my younger baby twin sister is able to talk like me, well…let's just say she was also reincarnated. Unfortunately…..I had to find that out the hard way.
Flashback - A Few Weeks Ago.
I don't know why my body decided to wake up that night, but for some reason the back of my mind was telling me something idiotic was going on in the next room. And from what I found in it I was right to assume so.
"What!? Drop dead! You idiots can't comprehend momma's talent and beauty! From her performance quality it's clear she's in a different league! It's inevitable that management would favor her! I bet you're just an ugly old hag! Alright Uggo, take a look in the mirror and say that again! I can't believe these idiots, think you can hold a candle to Ai!?" My dumb ass sister blabbed on and on, nonstop typing to rage baiters on the internet. I bet they were getting a kick out of angering her so much, I wonder how she even got on an account to do all that. Maybe it was one from her past life? Who knows, what I want to know is if we're really related…..
"Hey, could you shut the hell up for a second, some of us are trying to sleep ya know!" I berate her, my language knowing no bounds, not even to an annoying baby.
"Huh….?" Ruby mumbled out before widening her eyes in surprise. "That baby just talked to me, that freak!"
"Yk you aren't really one to talk right? Besides, you should return that phone before anyone wakes up." I suggest with a sweat drop, causing my idiot sister to come to a realization.
"Huh…? Oh yeah I guess you're probably right…. Hey wait a minute, that's not important right now! How are you talking and walking like that!?" Ruby asked frantically, not even keeping her voice down in the slightest, thank god our mom was a heavy sleeper.
I sigh at her before raising an eyebrow at her, wondering if I should answer that question seriously or brush it off with a joke, so I decided to do a mix of both. "Well I walk and talk like any person would, besides if you really want to know just think about what happened to you and apply it to me."
"Huh…? Apply it to you…..? Oh! I get it now! You must have been reborn from another life like me!" Ruby pieces together with a lightbulb flashing above her head comedically.
"Honestly….. It took you that long to figure that out? Man you're dense, how does Dr. Amamiya even stand you with how loud you are? Maybe he's as dumb as you too, I mean it's clear those people you were arguing with were just rage baiting you." I remark to her with a dismissive smirk, causing her to gasp in surprise.
"You take that back! The Doctor is a kind and caring person, don't you ever dare insult him again!" Ruby shouted at me with a serious face, peaking my curiosity as to why she was so obsessed with the man, but I was tired so I brushed it off and waved her good night.
"Yeah yeah whatever, just go back to bed, you're just wasting energy by pointlessly yelling at a screen like that." I berate before walking back to the bed where our mom could be seen sound asleep like nothing ever happened.
Flashback - End.
Yeah I really wish I could forget that night, I mean who gets up at 2 AM just to yell at people online? "Oh my god! You just record it once and then can watch it forever! It's the best!" Ruby points out while giggling and yelling things out like "Yay mamma! Yay!", like it wasn't already obvious, I mean it's called recording for a reason ya know.
I don't get her excitement for this kind of stuff….I mean it's nothing compared to that thrill I just had a moment ago…..that feeling was like no other I've experienced, like it was something I was meant for…
Timeskip - A Few Day Later.
"Aqua, are you hungry? Do you wanna nurse?" What!? Did mom really just ask me that!? Hell no! I might not look it, but I'm still a man ya know! Or at least that's what I'd like to say, but a baby talking would just look freaky so all I can really do is struggle in her arms…life is so cruel ya know…..I wish baby's could eat ramen….
"What? You'd rather not? You sure like your bottle don't you?" No mom, I don't, I'd rather have Ramen! It's just I'd rather keep some of my dignity left ya know!
"Ahhh hehaheha Ahhhh!" My annoying sister screams in an attempt to sound like a cry, if anything it sounds more like she's trying not to cackle.
"I'm coming! Do you wanna nurse again?" Mom asks whilst running over to my sister, picking her up and hold her in her arms, breast feeding her without even realizing she's fallen into her perverted trap, I SWEAR IT'S LIKE THIS GIRL IS PERVY SAGE IF HE GOT WHAT HE WANTED.
I'm just gonna ignore her, if she wants to go to hell after this next life then let her, it's not like she'll listen to me anyway. "Time for work" Ichigo calls out while entering the room with his wife Miyako.
"Uh I don't mean to intrude, but what's with him?" Miyako asks while questionably looking at a stiff Gorou Amamiya, who is currently looking away and out the window with a blush of embarrassment.
"It's indecent and inappropriate to look at a woman when she's exposed, especially if she's just breastfeeding her own child!" The doctor yells without a moment's hesitation, the light hiding his eyes by gleaming off his glasses.
"Pfft, you can relax Doctor! See, I have my shirt up and all!" Mom points out with a proud grin, causing Gorou to look back slowly in hesitation before letting out a breath of relief.
"Alright that's enough fooling around, lets go!" Ichigo calls out with a smile, with mom doing so as she kisses both of our heads and sets us together on the couch.
"You got everything you need for the day, doctor?" Mom spouts out with curiosity, Gorou nodding in turn. "Alright then we're off!"
"Cya later Ai, I'll always be watching!" Gorou spouts out, which if you ask me it sounded pretty creepy, though I know that wasn't his real intention.
Timeskip - Moments Later.
Ruby had to get a diaper change, go figure with her constant breastfeeding, I swear it's becoming an addiction. Me on the other hand, I crawled to the other side of our apartment to search what was in the closet, mom always keeps it closed, so I'm curious to see what kind of secrets she could be keeping in there.
Getting the door open was a major pain in the ass and I probably should have expected it, but what I found….isn't what I expected at all, and in a way it made me realize the lineage that I came from "No way…."
What I saw were a few different things, a photo, a soccer ball, and a jersey. The photo had three people in it holding a nationals trophy. The stoic one on the right was around 6 '0 and had short white hair and yellow eyes. The dude had a small smile, but he still reminded me of the silent Uchiha type. The one on the left was around 6 '2 and had black eyes and short black hair styled in a bowl cut. That guy had a madman's grin and looks like he just murdered somebody, heh heh…I hope I don't run into him anytime soon….
Both of them were wearing the same jersey, but with different numbers. It was blue with three white stripes on the shoulders , the sides there were red lines, and on the chest there was the emblem for japan. The shorts were just an inverted palette swap of the jersey where the primary blue was now white and the secondary white was now blue.
The mad grinning bowl cut guy had the number 14 on his jersey while the stoic white haired guy had the number 9, but what I didn't expect was to find the jersey of the blue eyed blonde haired man in the middle next to me…..
It was the same jersey as the other two guy's jerseys, but it had the number 11 on it, and the name on the back of it read…..
"Kam…iki…..?" I said in confusion, voicing my thoughts aloud to myself whilst trying to remember where I had heard that same name before.
"Number 9 passes it up to Japan's Number 11, Kazuma Kamiki!" That's when it hit me. I had heard that recorded announcer shout the name Kazuma Kamiki. From what I remember he was a part of the Japan National's team and was number 11, as well as the striker of their team.
"Wait a minute!" I shouted to myself, turning to look toward the soccer ball, turning it in aw as I gazed upon his signature. "This ball, it's the same one he scored with….but why would mom have it of all people, let alone the jersey!? Was she a fan of his?"
At the time I didn't know why and I still don't, but I had decided to take the soccer ball out of the closet with me. Something about it just felt…..right, ya know?
"What, you got there Aqua?" Oh shit, I totally forgot! Is what I was thinking when I turned my head to see the doctor staring right at me with a smile while holding Ruby up in his arms, and judging by the annoyed glare she was giving me, she wasn't too happy that I interrupted her time with him.
"Is that a soccer ball? Woah woah, hold on let me just-" Gorou spouts out before setting ruby down on the couch and kneeling down to look at me. "Now where'd you find that little guy?"
I didn't say anything obviously, I just stared at him and held the ball close. He didn't try and take it from me, in fact weirdly enough…..he smiled and grabbed the remote and started flipping through channels.
"So you like soccer, huh? I didn't do sports in highschool or college, but I knew that it was one of the popular ones people tried out for." He remarked to me before landing on the sports channel, putting soccer on the tv which is a HELL YES!
Even so it's kinda weird, normally he'd put on one of moms old concerts or even watch one live…..but this time he sat me down on the couch to watch the game. "You two sit here, I'll be right back. There's something I need to go do real quick."
After he said that he just left the apartment. "Hey! What the heck! You interrupted my time with the doctor!" My annoying young twin sister shouts violently at me. Is this what I really sounded like in my previous life? Nah, I don't think I was THIS loud!
"Jeez, quiet down will ya, it's not my fault he left all of a sudden!" I shout back in annoyance, and rightfully so. Since when was it my fault? "Besides, it's not like you guys were doing anything.
"For your information, he was playing with me! You interrupted my happiness! Ugh I wish I was an only child." First off, pause, second, that's a messed up thing to say to your older twin brother! I honestly wonder why Sasuke was so obsessed with Itachi, the constant sibling arguments hurt my head…
"Huh, I sense that something dumb and idiotic is about to happen….." I thought aloud, and I didn't know how right I would be!
And little did I would so be right, as my little twin sister Ruby tries to snatch the soccer ball out of my hands. "Gimme that, you don't deserve it!"
"Hey, what the hell are you doing! No let go, it's mine!" Ah yes, Naruto Uzumaki, trained Shinobi now reborn in the modern world and arguing over a soccer ball…..how far I've fallen…..BUT STILL IT'S MINE YA KNOW!
The fighting got so bad to the point that the ball slipped out of both of our grasps, and bounced onto the floor. We looked at each other with one thought going through our heads. "IT'S MINE!"
Next thing you know we both jump off the couch and start running for it. Of course a male my body is naturally stronger even as a 3 year old, so I would normally get to it first, but for some reason…
I don't know what came over me, but I knocked her down with a side shove and instantly kicked it as hard as I could on instinct, as if I were taking a shot at a goalie.
"Hey Aqua, Ruby, I'm back!" Oh fuck..…looks like the doctor came back at the wrong time, because the soccer ball I had just kicked…..hit him dead in the face….I guess you could consider that….my first goal…? Maybe…? I don't know ya know!
"Hey what the he-! Oh, it's just you Aqua." Gorou remarks whilst staring at me standing up with my foot out in a kicking position. It took a second, but before I knew it he was widening his eyes wider than the eye could see. "OH MY GOD, AI'S KID JUST TO HIS FIRST STEP, AND HIS FIRST KICK, OH HO HA HO THIS IS GOOD DAY TO BE A FAN!"
Oh it's a good day alright…..maybe for you, while you're cheering I'm getting daggers glared into the back of my head…somebody please help me!
Timeskip - A Few Months Later.
It's been a few months since the day I started walking, mom was so excited when she first witnessed it, but strangely enough though the doctor didn't say anything about the soccer ball which is a bit surprising.
Though I guess that story is saved for another day, because today is moms payday. Unfortunately though….. "My pay this month is 200,000 yen, this agency is so stingy with the money they pay us. The single we just put out reached the oricon charts, so there's no way I only earned this much, ya know! I gotta talk to the president about this situation….."
"Relax Ai, you're doing just fine, if anything it's the middle men who take up all the money from this industry, and with Strawberry Productions being such a small agency, it's hard to imagine the pay increasing out of the blue." Gorou remarks with surprising wisdom. Heh, who knew he had the brains in him, what with all his fangirling over mom and B-Komachi.
"I've realized that the world revolves around money…" Mom remarks whilst holding me up into the air, looking me in the eyes whilst the doctor sighs. I get it though, I mean fuck thats one depressing realization.
"I think I get it….you want your children to have a bright future, isn't that right?" Mom nods at the doctor, waiting for his next response. "Well if you want I can help pitch in while you and the president try to look for other job offers."
"No no no! You do enough for me already by taking care of my kids and keeping them a secret! I'd feel awful if you gave me any of the money you earn from your job here…" Mom denies, waving her arms back and forth in concern and worry.
"I see….well if you change your mind then you know where to find me….." Gorou remarks, smiling as he comically plops onto the futon on the floor and starts snoring. No seriously the dude is unconscious and knocked the hell out, heh heh.
But seriously, I didn't really know what to say or do in that very moment. All I could do was look up at my mom, wondering what she was really thinking.
Timeskip - Hours Later.
POV Change: Ai Hoshino
Being an idol….that's the path I chose in this life, and I don't regret any moment of it. The only moment I regret in my life…..is not saving you..….Kazuma…
"Ai, are you feeling a bit down?" Ari, one of the B-Komachi girls that I'm closer too and currently practicing with, asks after walking up to me with our third, Kyun.
"You've only just recovered, don't push yourself too hard!" Kyun remarks, with a worried expression. Which doesn't surprise me since me, Ari, and Kyun all joined up at the same time, so we've gotten pretty close.
"It's nothing like that! No no! It's just that I missed lunch and I'm feeling a little hungry at the moment." I reply while waving back with an innocent smile.
"What!? You're such a big eater all of a sudden? Ahehe heh heh" Ari chuckles, whether she and Kyun actually bought that lie is debatable though. I added a blush to my face when I said that to make it look like I was embarrassed, but truth be told I'd rather not get them involved.
Honestly, I am feeling pretty down lately…especially after that ball in the closet Kazuma signed for me went missing. I haven't been able to find it for months, maybe someone took it?
No, I doubt that the Doctor or the President did anything to it. They aren't those types of people, and while I don't know much about the president's wife, she's been loaded with work ever since I got back to my Idol duties, so I doubt she had anything to do with it.
I should probably think about something else before it starts to show on my face again. Ego surfing is always an option, but I don't really care what others think of me, I just do what I do and they flock to me like birds at the beach.
It's kind of crazy to think that kids used to bully me and call me tomato in my previous life because of my old red hair, heh. In this life it's quite the opposite, people dye their hair different colors all the time. I've even seen people that are jealous of my natural purple hair, guess that's one perk of being reborn.
That and…..I get a second chance at being a mother….I only wish you were able to see our children Kazuma…. I bet you'd love teaching Aqua how to play Soccer, he looks just like you, so maybe he inherited the strong ambidexterity in your legs.
What was your technique called again….? Something Impact? Oh I don't know, I guess I'll have to rewatch those old recorded videos again to remember! I hope I still have them saved on our TV, I haven't watched them in ages, not since…well ya know…..that year really was our peak until everything that happened with your brother Hikaru popped up…
I wonder if Aqua will ever inherit your love for soccer, that sport really is something special if it even captivated your eyes of all people…..
Timeskip - Nightfall.
I guess it's that time again…. Tonight is one of B-Komachi's mini sales promo concerts. I of course am the center while Ari and Kyun are on my right and left respectfully as we run on the stage with the announcer doing his job. "Today we have 3 members of B-Komachi!

Even if Kazuma isn't here to see this, or if his signed ball is lost to the ends of time…..I'll put a smile on my face to give them the happiness they all deserve!
The only thing that would please me more is if….- "Ai!"
Wait is that? No way… "Goo ga! Goo ga! Goo ga! Goo ga!" That's Ruby, and the Doctor! They came to see me!
While I was happy in that moment seeing them cheering for me…what made my smile brighten into reality. Was seeing Aqua sitting in his crib sleeping, holding Kazuma's signed soccer ball in his arms like a teddy bear.
Kazuma, if you're seeing this right now, then you know that he looks so cute!
