Night of Fears

At sundown, Sparx was making a stunt air, making the citizens applauded before joining Gibson in recon.

"Sparx, we're supposed to be patrolling the city. Not performing an air show!" Gibson chided.

"Hey, turn your pilot's license in for a buss if you want to, Gibson." Sparx said, "But I was born to fly!"

He then pilots his Fist Rocket ahead of him and headed towards the tall building until suddenly, his vison is blurring before normal.

"What gives?" Sparx rubbed his eyes but only to see his eyesight is blurring in and out before the building is close.

He yelped as he pulls up to fly up without crashing into it.

"What's wrong, Sparx? Navigation problem?" Gibson asked.

"No! Uh, nothing!" He said, resumed flying. "Uh, I'm fine."

At the Robot, Chiro and his friends sat there, reminiscing about their past foes.

"I don't know. Scrapperton wasn't all that tough." Otto mentioned. "Sakko. Now that's what I call super villain. Those belly shirts kind of freak me out."

They then noticed Sparx was flying around before left.

"You were saying, Otto?" Nova asked before looking at the stunt flying that Sparx is showing off. "Huh, show off."

"Sparx is coming in kind of fast." Chiro said, noticing something is off with Sparx.

"Yeah, and he's not stopping!" Otto said before the Fist Rocket is flying towards them.

"He's in trouble!" Antauri said.

"Oh no!" Nova gasped before Sparx crashed into the Robot. "Sparx!"

They all stood there, wondering what's wrong with their friend.

Sparx's Fist Rocket was stuck on the Robot after he was having a strange phenomenal experience.

"Sparx!" Chiro yelled.

The Fist Rocket suddenly falls off, making the others run from getting crushed by it as Gibson landed to see if he's okay.

"Hurry!" Nova said as Gibson puts out the fire on Sparx's Fist Rocket.

They all jumped on the damaged Fist Rocket and Otto cuts open the jet.

"Sparx, are you okay?" Chiro asked, concerned.

He then went down in the cockpit and carried him back up.

"Sparx, what happened to you?" Tyran asked.

"I don't know what happened." He answered, "The lights went out in my cockpit!"

"Perhaps you shouldn't try to move." Antauri advised.

"Antauri's right." Gibson said, "You may have sustained a concussion."

"I'm okay. Just finish pulling me out of cockpit." Sparx said, thinking he's still in the cockpit. "It's pitch black in here."

"What do you mean?" Nova said, confused. "You are out."

"Come on, I-I can't…" Sparx looks up to see his optics was cracked open with pale eyes. "I can't see!"

The Hyper Force was shocked that Sparx was blind in his eyes.

Afterwards, they took Sparx to the med lab to find out what was causing Sparx to go blind while Gibson is analyzing the cause of sight loss.

"Diagnostics can't find any physical cause for Sparx's condition." He said.

"What's wrong with me?" Sparx asked.

"Sparx, you're going to be all right." Nova assured as she grasped his hand. "We're going to fix this."

"What if it's permanent? I'll never be able to fly again. I've always been afraid of losing my sight and now it's finally happened."

"Perhaps you should examine the visual synaptic relays." Antauri suggested.

"Yes, I…" Gibson said, "I-I just..uh..Mm.."

"Is there a problem?" He asked.

"Um, no. No. I'll have to remove his ocular orbs and check his neural pathways for any signs of ponies."

The others blinked in disbelief of what he said in dumbly.

"Did he just say he was looking for a pony?" Otto asked them.

Tyran only shrugged while the others didn't say anything.

"A pony?" Gibson said, "Don't be ridiculous! Why would I want to look for pony? If I'm looking for a horse, I most definitely want a kangaroo!"

The others blinked.

"Uh. Gibson?" Nova spoke, awkwardly.

"You okay?" Tyran said.

"Now where were we? Ah yes, is it time for the dissection party?" Gibson readied his drills.

"Keep him away from me!" Sparx said.

Otto and Antauri then pushed Ginson away from Sparx.

"Gibson, do you feel all right?" Antauri asked.

"Never felt schmurpler." Gibson said before trying to focus. "Actually, I think something's very wrong with me."

Strange things is starting to happened on Gibson as he lays down on the operating table.

"This won't hurt a bit." Antauri said, holding scalpel. "I'm just going to see if your verbal conveyors are operating."

He then opened his helmet and suddenly, Antauri's hand is starting to shake out of control.

"What's happening?!" He said, trying to make his hand stop shaking.

"Antauri!" Chiro and Tyran pulled him away from Gibson. "What's wrong?"

"I don't know. I was trying to convert to a light probe." Antauri closed his helmet.

The whole room shook, startled the group.

"Now what?" Chiro said.

They left the med lab and found these strange white creatures prowling around the bridge.

"Why was there no intruder alert?" Antauri said, noticing the alarm didn't go off.

"How did those things get inside the Robot?" Tyran said.

"So I'm guessing it's not the pizza delivery." Sparx joked while Nova helped him up.

The white ant-like crawled on the top of med lab and zaps them.

"Swirling-Destructo Saw!" Otto threw his saw blade at their attacker, cutting its legs off and falls to the ground.

"Snap-Slap Kablam!" Nova punched the ant bot, sending it crashing into other creature with tentacles.

Antauri was confronted by another monster with large jaw before going in ghost mode and shot forward, but his power is fazing.

"What? What's happening to me?" He said before the monster slaps him against the wall.

Gibson came flying in and landed on top of the monster's head before drilling it.

"Oh, the reception is just dreadful." He said, dumbly before the monster grabs and throw him away.

Tyran and Chiro is facing a four-legged creature before Chiro dons his Hyper uniform and threw his lightning spear at the creature while Tyran blast it with Laser Optic, but the monster keeps going, making them move out of its way and Chiro yelped as the blast almost hit him.

Sparx was blindly shooting his Magna Tingler blast as the tentacle creature snuck up behind him.

"Nova, help Sparx before he winds up blasting us!" Chiro ordered.

"Lady Tomahawk!" Nova pound the creature away from Sparx.

"Otto!"

Otto then threw his saw blades, cutting the other monster's legs.

The tentacle creature came back as Nova notice it.

"Flame Fist Fury!" Nova blast the heat from her Giant Fist, burning it. "I'm going to beat the scrap out of you!"

She then shot forward the burning monster to finish it.

"Knuckle…" She then stops her attack when she sees an ugly terrifying burning monster. "Help!"

Otto heard her and saw Nova cowering in fear.

"Nova, what's wrong?" He asked.

Nova was cowering in fear and looks up at the monster before screaming in terror.

"I am tired of all the lazy mice!" Gibson drilled through the monster, blowing up its head.

She then backs up before bumping into Sparx, making him fire everywhere around him as she ducks down. Otto ducked down and Antauri was hit.

The other monster crept up to Sparx but Otto threw his sawblade, destroying it.

"Try to sneak up on me, huh?" Sparx said, thinking nova is one of those white creatures.

"No, no! Stay away!" She panicked when she see Sparx as a monster.

Nova then flee to her chute.

"Nova?"

The four-legged monster blasted Chiro, who jumped up.

"Thunder Punch!" He punched the creature down, destroying it.

He then notice the last monster is sneaking up behind him.

"Spike Strangle!" Tyran threw his chained Mace at the last monster, wrapping around the monster tightly before yanking away, destroying the last one.

"I'm all right." Antauri said as Chiro help him up.

The others regrouped with blinded Sparx.

"Where's Nova?" Chiro asked, noticing the she wasn't here with them.

"Something happened to her." Sparx said. "She's totally lost it."

"It was as if she suddenly had no courage or porridge or tiny electric rocks." Gibson said, dumbly.

"Nova lost her courage? This isn't like her at all." Tyran said.

"Yeah, she was scared." Otto said.

"Come on! We better go make sure she's all right." Chiro said as they head to their chute and find her.

As they left, the control room was opened, revealing to be a familiar figure, who lets out his evil cackling.

In her quarter, Nova was hiding behind the recliner as she was cowering in fear before her door was opened. She peeked out to see a monster in her door.

"No, no!" She whimpered as the monster approaches her.

"Nova, are you okay? It's me, Chiro." He asked, concernedly as her vision is cleared. "We're worried about you."

"Chiro!" She went to hug him. "I'm scared! I can't help it!"

"It's okay, Nova. It's not your fault." He assured her. "There's something strange happening to us."

"Chiro's absolutely right but I think I'm ready now." Gibson blurted.

"No, no!" She cowered as she sees him as a monster.

"Uh, Gibson.. What are you doing?" Otto asked while Gibson drills a floor.

"Isn't it obvious? Digging for moon rocks."

"Moon rocks?" Chiro said before Gibson continued to drill the floor. "Gibson, don't do that! You're frightening her!"

Gibson the stop drilling the floor.

"What's happening appears random, but I sense there is a common thread" Antauri explained. "For each one of us who has been affected our greatest nightmare. Our most terrible fear has come true."

"Nova has lost her nerve.." Chiro said before looking at Gibson. "Gibson…

"I've always been scared of appearing irrational or big green globideboo!" He said.

"I'm losing my eyesight!" Sparx said. "That's the worst thing that can happen to the pilot."

"My greatest fear is that I would lose control of this robotic body." Antauri said.

"So some of you have the greatest fear?" Tyran said, "It's almost if someone or somebody was making our fear into a reality to scare us to death."

"We'll find out who's behind this." Chiro swore. "They've got to be somewhere on the Robot."

Little did they know, they were being watched by Mandarin, who somehow acquired a medallion from Valeena.

"They are not only here on this Robot, foolish boy!" He sneered, "They are in command of it."

"Free me now, Mandarin!" Valeena demanded while trapped in her medallion. "We have no time to waste with vengeance! We must work to resurrect the Skeleton King before it's too late!"

"You will continue to obey me, witch and use your supernatural power on my behalf! Striking fear into the hearts of the Hyper Force!"

As they look for the culprit, security probe appeared above them.

"Look out!" Chiro yelled before the probe shoots them, making them jumped away from the blast.

This made Nova flee to the chute with Sparx.

"Ow, watch where I'm going!" He said, holding his head.

"Nova! Sparx!" Chiro called, but they took off.

"Someone is using the Robot's internal defense system against us!" Antauri said.

"If we can get to the engine room, we can switch them off!" Otto suggested.

"It's worth a try!" Tyran said.

"Let's do this!" Chiro said,

"I like doing it! It makes me feel rather tingly!" Gibson said, dumbly.

The security pod stops shooting before looking for the them until something came out of Nova's room and shoots it. It turns out it's only Nova's punching bag before Tyran shot it, destroying the security probe.

"Hurry, monkey team!" Chiro urged as they headed to the engine room.

From the bridge, Mandarin watched them go to the engine.

"You see, you must make a little progress before you crush them completely." He smirked. "It creates a greater agony for their tortured souls."

He laughed, evilly.

"Agony? Yes, that will be your fate, wretched demon monkey!" Valeena smirked, thinking what she'll do to him if she's released.

"Silent, slave! Now, comes the most pleasurable part of their destruction."

He laughed again.

They arrived to the engine room as Chiro tried open the door, but locked.

"It's been sealed!" He told them. "We can't get into the engine room."

"I'll phase through and shut off the defense grid." Antauri said before going into ghost mode.

The alarm went off and the security drone was dispatched from the hallway they came and started shooting them.

"Go, Antauri! Go!" Chiro told him before shooting the orb at them. "Monkey Fu!"

Otto threw his saw blades at them, destroying two of them as Tyran shoots them with Laser Optics, destroying most of them, but more them keeps coming.

Antauri, however, was struggling while trying to phase through the door until his lower body is stuck and tried reaching the main security power switch but his power is glitching.

"Antauri, your face! What's happen to your face?!" Gibson said while looking at his rear.

Antauri grunted while trying to reach the power switch until the security drones shoots Gibson, pushing against his rear and allowing him reached the lever.

Before the security moves in to terminate them as Chiro, Tyran, and Otto gets ready, Antauri switches off the defense grid and making the security drones go back in the wall.

"Antauri did it!" Chiro said.

"He's still stuck." Otto went to cut him free. "I'll get him out."

"Then we'll find Sparx and Nova." Chiro said, helping Gibson up. "And track down down who's ever behind this."

"There's no need to track me down." They heard a familiar voice and looked to see Mandarin in the hallway. "For I have no fear of confronting.. sniveling weaklings.. like you." He laughed, evilly.

"Mandarin!" Chiro said.

"No way! You were a goner!" Otto said, still couldn't believe his former leader is still alive.

"But Chiro told us you were blown up with the Worm." Tyran said.

"And you look fantastic!" Gibson said, dumbly.

"Otto, Tyran, let's get him!" Chiro ordered them.

They both shot forward to Mandarin, but he used Valeena's medallion to repel them, knocking them against the wall.

"Thunder Punch!" Chiro shot forward with his fist.

But Mandarin uses the medallion on him, regressing Chiro into a frail little kid before simply knocking him to the floor.

"Chiro!" Otto cried.

"What have you done to him?!" Tyran demanded.

Mandarin chuckled, evilly. "Take a look yourself! Your greatest fear has come true!"

Chiro almost wept that he was being regressed to a little boy.

"Yes, you're nothing but a powerless little boy!" He then cackled, evilly.

"I'm confused. Is this supposed to be funny?" Gibson asked them as Chiro was weeping.

"Oh, you poor pathetic powerless child." Mandarin said, feigning his sympathy. "Oh, allow me to end your misery."

He then used the medallion on Antauri, pulling him out of the door.

"But not by my hand! By your friend!" He sneered as Chiro watches him.

"Mandarin! Release me!" Antauri grunted.

"Huh, your greatest fear is realized, Antauri. Your will is no longer your own!"

"Run, Chiro! Get away from me!" He told him while trying to resist as he brings out his energy rang.

Chiro look up and started running before Antauri threw them towards him, but Otto threw his saw at energy rang as Chiro ducked while Tyran cover him and one of the fragments pressed the button to open the door.

"Tyran, get Chiro out of here!" Otto told him, "I'll hold him off!"

"Come on!" Tyran said, taking Chiro and Gibson in his arms.

"Perhaps we should stay and discuss our difference with Mandarin." Gibson suggested, dumbly.

"Gibson!" Tyran and Chiro said while Otto deflect Antauri's energy rang until one of them hit his shoulder.

He then ran to catch up with the others.

"Hunt them down and destroy them, my soulless slave!" He ordered Antauri, who tried to resist him until his will is gone.

Antauri obediently hunt them in the engine room and found them climbing on the ladder. He then uses the anchoring legs to scale up the wall.

"Hurry! Here he comes!" He said, kept climbing up.

They hurried on the platform rail as Antauri is right behind them.

"Can't outrun him!" Otto panted, looking back. "Can't outrun him!"

Antauri flings his energy rang at them as Otto deflected them until one of them hit him while the others ran into the grate.

"Gibson, get the cover off!" Chiro told him.

"Now, let's see if we uh…" Gibson then pulls out the drills. "Yes, so what was I doing again?"

Tyran groaned before grabbing his drill to unscrew the bolts while Otto continues to fend of Antauri's energy rang until the grate is off.

"Inside, Gibson." Chiro kicked him in the chute before jumping with him.

"Hurry, Otto!" Tyran called before sliding down the chute.

Otto ran up to the chute and slide down to catch up with the others.

Antauri then retracts his anchoring legs and jumps down to the chute.

"Come on, Nova! I heard Chiro down this way!" Antarui then scratched the wall when he heard Sparx's voice.

"No! I want to find a place to hide!" He then heard Nova's voice and ghost phase through the wall. "I don't like getting here."

As they kept walking, they ran into Antauri, unaware that his will is not his own.

"Antauri." Nova said, glad to see him.

"Run! I don't want to hurt you!" He told them as his eyes flickering while bring out this energy rangs.

"Antauri?"

"What's going on?" Sparx asked.

They quickly ducked down when Antauri flings his energy rang at them before fleeing away from them. As they ran, they hit a dead end.

"No! We're trapped!" Nova panicked as Antauri approaches them with energy rangs.

"Magno-Field Shield!" Sparx generates the magnetic field to protect them and Antauri tried slicing it. " We got to deactivate his battery!"

"No! I can't do it!" Nova protested.

"We have to, Nova! I need you to be my eyes! First, we got to stun him." He told her as Antauri is trying to break through. "Now!"

"Sting Rings!" Nova then jumped with her Giant hands and slammed her fist tighter, knocking him.

"Magna-Bolt Laser!" Nova aimed Sparx's attack and stunned Antauri. "There's not much time! Deactivate him, now!"

Nova flinched and hurried towards out-cold Antauri before carefully turn him over and opened his back. She then carefully grabbed his battery, but yelped when his Ghost Claws swings a bit before dropping down.

"You can do it, Nova! You have to!" Sparx said, encouraging her.

Nova is shaking a bit and carefully take his battery pack before pulling off and ran back to Sparx.

"I knew you still have in you." Sparx smiled. "Now come on. Let's find the others."

Meanwhile, Chiro and the others landed in the machine workshop after falling from the chute.

"This is not the ladies department." Gibson said, dumbly. "Otto, could you fix that escalator?"

Chiro covered his mouth. "I don't think Antauri followed us."

"I think we lost him." Tyran said.

"We're safe for now." Otto said, "Let's look for Sparx and Nova."

"Good thing you two are not of afraid of anything." Chiro said. "We'd be done for."

"You got that right."

"Yeah, I'm not afraid of anything."

When they open the door, Otto started to scream in terror when they face a whole group of… clams with bare foot.

"Clams with feet?" Chiro said, kicking the nearby clam.

"Seriously?" Tyran said, punching the nearby clam.

"I thought you don't have any fear!" He said, while Otto cowered in fear.

"A little lower! A little lower!" Gibson said while the walking clams nibbled him. "Up! Up! That hit the spot!"

Otto was then carried away by horde of walking clam.

"Otto!" Tyran went to save him but someone jumps in and blocked his way, making him shocked and trembled by someone.

"Hello, Tyree! Remember me?" Tyran flinched when he knew the seductive voice.

"Oh no! Anybody but you!" He trembled. "Miracus!"

It turns out it was his ex-girlfriend with long white hair with a bow and horns for her head, a one-piece pink swimsuit, a razor claws for hands, a long tail, a pair of wings, and a knee-high boot.

"At last, I've finally found you!" She giggled, "You look so cute without your mask on! How about some kiss?"

"Tyran, who is that girl?" Chiro asked, frightened. "I thought you said you weren't afraid!"

"My ex-girlfriend! Ahh!" Tyran screamed before running away from her as Miracus chases after him. "Save me!"

"Tyran!" He went after them but Mandarin cuts him.

"You're not going anywhere, my hairless monkey!" He said, arming his energy sword.

Chiro backs up before taking Gibson with him as he ran.

"Come, come and face your fears, boy!" He heard him taunting him.

"I have no need for your human bathroom, sir." Gibson said, dumbly. "Release me!"

Chiro and Gibson then took cover in the training room and locked all the chute, but Mandarin cuts through the door.

"I am finished playing with you." Mandarin said.

"I may not have the power of Primate, but I still have my monkey combat training!" Chiro said, trying to be brave.

"And the monkey that taught you!" He turned to see Sparx and Nova.

Mandarin laughed, mockly. "A blind buffoon and a witless coward. This is too easy!"

Suddenly, the weapons pillars was activated itself and the weapons aimed at Mandarin as if the Robot was trying to stop him.

"But how?"

"The Super Robot is not going to let you get away with this either!" Chiro said.

"So, it thinks for itself now, huh?" Mandarin sneered. "Let's see if it has any feelings…"

He then leapt behind Chiro and pointed his claw near his neck.

"You can't strike me without hurting the boy." He taunted as the Robot retracts the weapon pillars. "It appears I know what the Robot fears most as well. Goodbye, Chiro!"

"Chiro!" They cried as Mandarin is about to end him.

But Chiro was able to take the medallion and use it against Mandarin.

"Who's afraid now, Mandarin?" He said as Mandarin was being overtaken by medallion as Valeena appeared.

"Mandarin, prepare to meet your worst fear, me!" Valeena then took him in a flash.

After Mandarin and Valeena is gone, Chiro is back to normal age and Sparx uncovers the bandage.

"Wow, wish I could have seen it." Sparx said. "Looking good, kid."

"Thanks." Chiro said.

Sparx winked before looking at Nova."

"BOO!" He shouted.

Nova grabbed him and aimed her fist at his fast while growling him.

"Just testing!" He said, raising his hands in defense before Gibson came.

"I think it's safe to say that our manifested phobias have rescinded their home." He said.

"Indeed." Antauri said. "We all seem to be back to normal, but where's Otto and Tyran?"

They all wonder where he is until Otto and Tyan came.

"I hope everyone likes.. Clam Chowder!" He said holding the soup pot.

"If anyone ask, let's say I have an unfortunate visit from my former flame." Tyran said, scratching his head.

Meanwhile, Mandarin was encased in the orb as Valeena emerged from the shadow in the ruin.

"Valeena!" He wheezed.

"Who's trapped now, Simeon?" She said, "You will tell me wher you have hidden the Skeleton King's skull or I will rend your soul from your pathetic body!"

The Skull Witch then begins to torture Mandarin after the ordeal she went while demanding him the location of Skeleton King's Skull.
