Ianto suspected that, aside from gifting Jack with a Pteranodon, the only reason he'd been granted a job with Torchwood Three was his willingness to carry out the menial tasks no one else wanted to do. Things like cleaning and tidying around the Hub, caring for and mucking out the residents in the cells, running errands, which included picking up Jack's drycleaning, and providing food and beverages.

He'd been fine with that, because it had got his foot in the door, and from there he'd been able to smuggle Lisa into the lower levels, where he'd had easier access to everything he needed to care for her.

That had been more than a year ago though; Lisa was gone, executed, and miraculously, Ianto himself was not only still alive with all his memories intact, but he still had a job. Jack was training him for fieldwork, Tosh was giving him advanced computer training, improving his skills, and he was officially Torchwood Three's archivist, responsible for cataloguing everything instead of just sorting and tidying whenever he could spare the time.

But one thing that definitely wasn't in his job description was cleaning the med bay following one of Owen's messy autopsies!
