Chapter 10: Calm before the Storm

26 Years ago...

As Frieza launched his Supernova striking Planet Vegeta, there was a spaceship hundreds of feet away watching Planet Vegeta's destruction.

Three alien men were watching the Planet's destruction and sitting back enjoying themselves.

Buff Alien: Huh, looks like Frieza finally decided to get rid of them after all.

Weird Alien: It was about time. I couldn't stand those Saiyans.

Pretty Alien: Well there goes the whole Monkey Farm. Now this is live entertainment.

This three aliens were named Dore, Neiz, and Salza.

As they were watching Planet Vegeta's destruction, Salza noticed something in the distance.

Salza: Huh? Hold on, we have a Space Pod escaping. Give me an interior view of the pod.

Dore: On it.

The inside of the pod was an infant Goku. The three looked at the sleeping infant before Salza spoke.

Salza: Where does he think he's going?

Neiz: He's headed for a Planet called Earth. Should we intercept course?

Salza: Yes.

?: Delay that order.

The three turned around to see their boss approach them in a hover chair.

Salza: But sir...

?: I have three Planets to destroy be the end of the day. Why should I fall behind because of Frieza? Let him clean up his own mess. Besides, it's just a Saiyan child. He's no threat to us.

Their leader looked at the screen to see Frieza laughing maniacally. The leader became disgusted with Frieza.

?: Just look at him. He's so happy with what he's done. That could have been King Vegeta in that pod escaping.

The leader turned around to reveal himself. He looked similar to Frieza in his Final Form but was purple with white bone like armor on he chest, wrists, and ankles.

This was Frieza's older brother, Cooler.

Cooler: You have a lot to learn, brother.

Soon enough, Planet Vegeta exploded as the spaceship began to fly away.

Cooler: Let's get out of here.

Dore, Neiz, & Salza: YES SIR!

The spaceship flew away to another Planet.

Present/Kami's Lookout

Goku was speaking with Kami and Mr. Popo about the Dragon Balls.

Goku: Is there a way to upgrade the Dragon Balls in order to revive him?

Kami was taken aback by what Goku asked him. He composed himself before giving Goku an answer.

Kami: I'm going to be honest Goku, I'm not sure if I can upgrade the Dragon Balls. I wasn't even aware if something like that was possible.

Goku sighed at this.

Goku: I had a feeling it wouldn't be that easy.

Kami: However, there might be a way. I was able to meet a few Namekians when they were here on Earth. While they were here, they asked if I could come to their planet whenever I can visit.

Goku went wide eyed and felt hope.

Kami: If I can learn from my fellow Namekians I could probably understand how to upgrade them. It could take a while, but you can probably revive him.

Mr. Popo: There is an issue with your idea. How will you be able to get to New Namek?

Goku: I can take care of that. I can use Instant Transmission to get us there, no spaceship needed.

Kami: That's good to know. All I need to do now is prepare myself for the trip. Give me about two weeks.

Goku: Awesome, thank you Kami. I'd better get back home. See you in two weeks.

Kami: See you in two weeks Goku.

Goku placed two fingers on his forehead and teleported back home.

Mt. Paozu/Son Family House

While Chi Chi and Gine continued talking and enjoying each other's company, Bardock continued on telling Gohan about Planet Vegeta.

Bardock: And at the top of the hill was the Royal Palace. Obviously that's where King Vegeta III and his family lived.

Gohan: Wait, Vegeta III?

Bardock: He's the father of the Vegeta we know, Vegeta IV.

Gohan: Wow. Was he like Vegeta as well?

Bardock: He was but not as bad as Vegeta. However, he did boast that his son was far stronger than anyone else and believed he would become a Super Saiyan. Thankfully, Kakarot became a Super Saiyan before him.

Gohan: Do you think can become one?

Bardock was surprised by Gohan's question.

Bardock: Not sure if I can but only time will time.

Instantly, Goku teleported into the kitchen. This got Gohan, Bardock, Gine, and Chi Chi's attention.

Goku: Hey, I'm back.

Bardock: Where did you go anyways?

Goku: I went to speak with Kami about upgrading the Dragon Balls. I'll be taking him to New Namek in a month's time so that he can learn to upgrade them.

Gohan: Why upgrade the Dragon Balls?

Goku: Gohan, I understand if you don't like it, but I'm gonna wish back Raditz.

Gohan, Bardock, & Gine: What?!

Gine walked over to her son.

Gine: Is that really possible?!

Goku: It's definitely possible. Also, if the Earth Dragon Balls can't bring him back, we can use the Namekian Dragon Balls to wish him back.

Gine and Bardock looked happy that this was possible but Chi Chi and Gohan weren't happy at all.

Gohan: Dad are you sure about this?

Chi Chi: I agree with Gohan. He kidnapped Gohan was part of the reason you died Goku.

Goku: I know and I understand. But trust me, I'm way stronger than I use to be and Raditz won't harm you all, I promise.

Bardock: Obviously, our eldest son caused you problems. For that were very sorry.

Bardock and Gine bowed to show respect towards Chi Chi. Chi Chi smiled a bit before addressing her in-laws.

Chi Chi: There's no reason to apologize. If Goku says he can handle him, I'll trust him.

Bardock and Gine lift there heads in relief.

Gine: Trust me, we have some words for our son when he comes back.

Goku: What about you Gohan? Can you forgive him?

Gohan sighed a bit. He still felt anger for what his uncle had done to him but decided to leave those in the past.

Gohan: I can forgive him. Besides, I'm far stronger than I used to be.

Goku nodded with a smile.

Goku: Good, there's only one thing left to do.

Goku turned towards Chi Chi.

Goku: Is it alright if I take Gohan to train against the Androids?

Chi Chi immediately scowled.

Chi Chi: What?

Goku flinched a bit.

Outside of the house, Piccolo was meditating. He opened his eyes hearing the argument in the house.

Piccolo: So that's a Super Saiyan's weakness.

Capsule Corporation

Bulma was walking down the corridor of Capsule Corp when she saw Vegeta collapse outside of a room.

Bulma: VEGETA!

Bulma rushed over to help him up out of concern for his well being. Vegeta, however, wasn't happy for that.

Vegeta: Gahhh! Let go of me! I don't need your help!

Bulma was not having any of his attitude.

Bulma: Are you serious?! It's been three days since you started training at 400 time gravity. You may not believe this but you are still made of flesh and bone. If you want to surpass Goku, try not to kill yourself.

Vegeta managed to stand back up despite struggling.

Vegeta: Fine. But don't think I'll be grateful to you, Woman.

Bulma: This woman has a name, it's Bulma.

Vegeta: Whatever, just don't get in my way.

Vegeta began to limp away.

Bulma: Geez, he's so stubborn.

A week later in space

Cooler and his Elite Squadron were on a destroyed planet. It was there that Cooler received some terrible news.

Cooler: What?! Frieza and my father were killed by a Saiyan?! That's absurd! How can a Saiyan generate enough power to destroy them?

Neiz: It's true my lord. This Saiyan has been living on Earth for years now. He was able to best Vegeta and defeated Frieza on Namek. He must have killed Frieza when he went to Earth for revenge alongside King Cold.

Cooler: Both my father and brother are dead. How dare that Saiyan. I had everything planned out and this Saiyan ruins everything.

Cooler stood up from his throne. Cooler began to think to himself about what he was feeling.

Cooler: Curse you Saiyan. I was suppose to kill Frieza myself and finally prove to my father how much stronger I had become and you took that away from me.

Cooler looked over to Salza and called out to him.

Cooler: Salza, prep the ship immediately.

Salza: Yes sire.

Cooler glared and anger before continuing.

Cooler: I don't know who this Saiyan thinks he is but no one disgraces a member of our family. NO ONE!

Cooler used his tail to destroy the wooden throne before developing an evil smile on his face.

Cooler: Plot a course for Earth.

Next time... everyone has a break from training. Plus, Cooler arrives on Earth.
