Octavia looked into the mirror as she finished getting ready after breakfast, still not used to her new look. It had come so drastically and unexpectedly, but according to Camazotz this was not unheard of, just extremely rare. "I hope that's the last unexpected thing to happen for a long time." She thought out loud to herself before finishing up and heading to get changed, only to blink as she realized everything she had packed and had didn't quite fit as it once had. At least, in the way she felt comfortable with. Great, this was going to be awkward since she and her mother had decided to go out and spend some actual time together for the first time in since she could remember.
"Octavia." Came Stella's voice from the other side of the door. "Are you ready?" She inquired.
"I uh...I'm not sure I want to go out today…" Octavia replied.
"But you said that you would like to go out while Camazotz took care of business, what made you change your mind?" Stella asked with curiosity.
"...It's too embarrassing…" Octavia said as she blushed.
"Can I come in then?" Stella asked.
"...yes." Octavia replied
As Stella entered she saw why Octavia felt too embarrassed to go, a warm motherly smile forming on her face as she saw Octavia felt a bit shy and awkward that her clothes were more for what she used to look like. "Oh, I see."
"Nothing quite fits right." Octavia said with embarrassment.
"Sounds like we need to get you a full wardrobe then." Stella said as she continued to smile.
"But I don't want to get out like this…" Octavia remarked as she blushed more, feeling all the more embarrassed. "Especially since...you know…" She added as she motioned downward and then to her open travel cases that had nothing to help with her new physique.
"Oh, right." Stella giggled. "I think that needs to be the first thing we need to get."
"But I don't want to go shopping for any when I have none to get out with…" Octavia said as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Well maybe you don't have to." Stella said as she brought up a hand before Octavia could reply, a flame appearing and forming into a visual of Skittle. "Skittle, Octavia doesn't have...what she needs to feel comfortable to get out but is in dire need of of such things. Can you have a female servant or two come to get the information needed?"
"Of course lady Stella, I shall make sure to have two there post haste." Skittle replied.
Stella smiled politely. "Thank you Skittle."
"It is nothing lady Stella." Skittle said before Stella clenched her hand shut and the flame disappeared.
It wasn't too much later when there was a knock at the door, Stella opening it and a pair of skeletal succubi servants walked in. "The young lady needs measurements?" One asked.
"Yes." Stella replied as Octavia sheepishly looked away, flustered and embarrassed by the whole thing.
"Alright, this shouldn't take too long." The other succubi said as they moved over to Octavia. "Hold your arms out please." She requested.
Octavia flustered more as she shied away a bit for a moment before reluctantly doing so, letting the succubi servants get to work, one starting to measure her as the other wrote what the first said down. It was awkward, and she felt like she might die from the embarrassment, but she stood there and let them do their work. It felt weird to be measured for what was now necessary for her to have, she assumed she would never need one with how she was despite her mother being so well endowed. It could have been worse though, they could have been measuring her entire body.
"All done." The first succubus servant said as she put away the measuring tape.
"Here are her measurements my lady." The second one said as they walked over to Stella, handing her the pad. "Although if you wish we could go out and acquire the bras for her."
Stella looked at Octavia. "Would you want them to or would you like me to? Either way, I would make sure you could see pictures of what's to offer. I would say a visual mirror could be taken that only shows your head, but I'm not sure how embarrassing that might be for you in either case." She offered.
"...You." Octavia answered after a moment.
Stella nodded. "Alright, but we'll need to also overhaul your wardrobe." She pointed out. "I assume you'd want the same things and we can look for more varied things later?"
Octavia nodded. "...yes."
"I'll also need measurements for your pants then." Stella pointed out.
"Wait wha-" Before Octavia could say anything else, the skeletal succubi servants went to work, getting the measurements for her pants as Octavia blushed profusely from embarrassment.
"Here you go my lady." The second succubus said as she handed the measurements.
"Thank you, you may be dismissed." Stella remarked, the two succubi bowing before leaving. "This might take a while, you sure you'll be alright?"
"I don't think I'll be leaving the room…" Octavia remarked as she continued to blush.
"Alright, but this isn't anything to be embarrassed about." Stella said as she walked over and hugged her daughter. "I meant what I said earlier. You were as beautiful before as you are now, and always will be. All that mattered to me is that you were MY daughter and while we have had our rough spots in these past few years, I couldn't be prouder of you."
Octavia smiled as she hugged her mother back. "Thanks mom."
"Any time my astral princess, I'll try to be back as quickly as possible." Stella said as she started to leave, only to see Skittle at the door as she opened it. "Skittle?"
"My lady thinks you might need this, in case your current situation has limited your financial gratuity somewhat." Skittle said as he handed her a card. "Use it as needed."
Stella blinked. "Oh...I don't think I will need it."
"She insists, just as a precaution since you need to buy the young mistress a new wardrobe." Skittle explained.
Stella blinked again, not used to having someone show that level of care. "Then give her my thanks, but hopefully I won't need it."
"I will lady Stella." Skittle said before turning and leaving.
Stella looked back at Octavia. "I'll see you shortly...well, be texting you shortly." She said before walking out and shutting the door behind her.
Octavia looked at the door, her mind bringing back memories of how her mother and father when she was still so young took her shopping for outfits. They had slowly grew distant and when she had first hit what was the human equivalent of teens was the last time they acted as close as back then, even if it was kind of pretend. Right now, this was the closest to those days when she was so young. And even though it felt selfish to think, she kind of hoped that this might last for a bit, if only long enough to give her back some normalcy before having to deal with her parent's divorce and whatever was making her father a target.
Octavia moved to the bed, putting the clothes she had taken out back up. But then again, she was likely going to have to get rid of all of them. Letting out a bit of a sigh, she started to take the clothes she put back up out along with the rest that were still packed. Why didn't she tell Skittle to get some of the servants to come get and carry her clothes to the trash? Oh well, hopefully he would come back around in a bit and she could ask then. Right now though, she focused on separating everything into neat piles. They might be her old clothes now, but she wasn't going to toss them in a corner.
Granted, the outfit she had managed to fit into was still uncomfortable to wear, but it was all she had and she was not about to ask for any dresses or anything to wear while she was waiting for her mother to get what she needed. When Octavia finished she went to go sit back on her bed, bringing up her phone to scroll through as she waited. As she brought it up though, she looked over herself again, still trying to get used to the fact she was now more...curvy along with her now primary light gray with streaks of pure violet and bits of black look. Although, what her mother said helped her to be more comfortable with how she looked now after the unexpected change.
Maybe this change wasn't so bad. Sure she liked how she looked before, was very comfortable with it. But as she looked at herself more, feathers and all, she felt more at ease and accepting of how she was now, if not a bit more comfortable than before given her now mixed feelings about her father. And in truth, that was something she knew would have to be talked about with him if and when he recovered...his lack of being the kind of father she needed in her life. Not that he hadn't been before, but it was clear he hadn't been nor was prepared for it fully in a long time.
It wasn't long before Octavia got a notification on her phone that her mother sent her some pictures. Pulling them up, she looked through what she sent, blushing and feeling embarrassed about some of the options her mother picked out. Looking over what bras and accompaniments she picked out at least three in the first batch of pictures before her mother sent another batch. When she had picked out what she wanted in that batch Stella sent her another batch of pictures, this process repeating for a bit until Stella had texted her that she thought that what she picked out was enough. Octavia blushed a bit as she decided to text her mother if she could get at least two of the options she had sent that had flustered her a littl.
Stella replied that she would, and that she was off to go get the replacement clothes for her, asking Octavia if she wanted anything new. Octavia thought for a moment before texting her mother that she'd look up any clothing she might be interested in and text it to her, to which Stella replied with a "OK". Octavia searched through various sites for clothing she might be interested in, finding some new outfit that she was interested in, including at least a few dresses which she was sure her mother would be ecstatic over the fact she decided to try some, and texted the pictures of them to her mother. Who, true to her suspicion, was over the moon. replying that she'd look for all of them. Sure she was getting her clothes she had in a size she could wear, but now that she had a new look she might as well have some new clothes other than the same as before as well.
With nothing else to do other than wait for her mother to get back from buying her replacement clothes Octavia laid back on the bed, doing her best to not feel too uncomfortable in her now tighter feeling old clothes. She began to scrolling through her phone, checking out her Sinstagram and watching the occasional video. As she laid there and waited, the past twenty four hours started playing again in her head. If it wasn't for her knowing Typhus, would her dad even be in whatever state of alive he was in right now or would he be…
Octavia shook her head, she did NOT want to think of that possibility at the moment, not after she was finally having some sense of normal. She owed Typhus a lot; not only was the hell hound very sweet, but kind too. And despite the reason behind his demeanor, his behavior she found rather cute, if not kind of adorable. But how did she feel about him? Despite everything going on, the hell she was living, she wasn't blind or unable to pick up on things. It was clear that he might be crushing on her to some degree but did not act on it, likely because he was just that good of a guy and knew how to think of others before himself.
That still begged the question of how she exactly felt about him though. In all honesty, whether she was right or wrong about him having some form of crush and he wasn't acting on it for whatever reason, none of his actions and how he talked to her were still genuine enough to be coming from either a source of being smitten or just that nice of a guy. Sure she was after all assuming he was crushing on her, but then again she hadn't really been around enough demons to know for sure when someone could actually be crushing or not.
Which again led her back to her feelings towards him, this circular train of thought was getting annoying. But as she started to actually think back on their first meeting, then the first time they hung around each other, and then just the other day when she relied on him for not just helping her in a time of need, but as a means of stability too before the stress and built up emotions of everything led to...thoughts that entertained that dark sarcasm she had towards her dad that she never wanted to actually think about. And as she thought on everything, about what he had done, what he had been for her, she felt...as she had.
No increased heart rate, no flushing, no...anything other than a relief and gladness to know someone like him that could be a...friend to help her through all of this. A friend, yeah. After all, that was what he and Carnavont offered to be when they first met so she had no real reason to fully assume that Typhus had any stronger feelings for her than her own intuition. And even then, with everything she was going through, she could have gotten it wrong due to the emotional toll of it all. Which, if it was, would be so embarrassing she would likely die. At the very least though, she should send him a text and thank him for being there for her as well as being a friend.
It wasn't that she was opposed to the idea of a romance, far from it in fact. Despite her cynical and pessimistic outlook on life, Octavia didn't mind the idea of possibly dating, finding love one day. But that was just it, one day. With how her life was right now thanks to her parents...well, more so her dad, she didn't really think she really could at the moment. Was that part of the reason though, her fearing she'd be more like him after these new feelings about her father surfaced? She hoped not. And despite how nice and sweet Typhus was, she just didn't feel anything stronger than a close bond, the thoughts of him being more like a brother she kind of wished she had.
As she was about to send Typhus a text there was a knock at the door. "Young mistress, do you require anything? It is getting about lunch time." Came Skittles voice.
Octavia sat up on the side of the bed, the tightness of her old clothes not doing her any favors...she really hoped her mother got back soon with those new clothes. "I'm fine Skittle...though I do need someone to help get rid of my old clothing I brought…"
"I'll inform some of the servants to come to your room and dispose of them." Skittle replied. "Although I will mention that my lady did hope that you might join her or lunch. She sometimes works during it and figured that it would be nice to enjoy a nice lunch with you, even if she might work a little."
Octavia blinked, it had been so long since there had been such care and attentiveness was shown from either parent. It was true that in more recent years and days he had become more absent minded and focused on other things to where it wasn't unusual for their meals to be them doing their own things. But as she thought back further...were their family meals always like that? They couldn't have been could they? As she kept thinking there were a lot of instances and periods of happy times, up until her pre-teens...or whatever humans labeled that span of development. But she started to recall just as many times of him just being...too busy.
"Alright then…" Octavia agreed. "Although I still feel….embarrassed about-"
"Do you wish me to see if there's anything in my mistress' wardrobe that might fit you?" Skittle asked.
Octavia blinked and then blushed as she realized that she never saw Camazotz wear anything other than manly outfits. "Uh...no thank you. I'll uh, I'll just manage with what I have on."
"Are you sure young mistress?" Skittle inquired.
"I'm...sure?" Octavia replied hesitantly.
"I'll be back momentarily with what I can find. When you've changed I'll have servants come and take care of your old clothes." Skittle said simply.
Octavia ran to open the door. "Skittle wait no-" By the time she reached and opened the door to show she was willing to move about the palace he was...gone. "The hell?" Octavia thought out loud, noticing trace remnants of a cast spell. "Oh no…" She groaned before shutting the door. Octavia wasn't sure what was worse, putting up with wearing some of Camazotz's clothing that was very much more for men, or dealing with wearing the now tight old clothing she had on.
It wasn't unbearable uncomfortable, just..odd feeling. "How does mum do it?" Octavia thought out loud to herself as she looked at her chest, adjusting to keep things as comfortable as she could. It really was a weird sensation, so many mixed emotions and feeling going through her. She just hoped she adjusted quickly and that the new clothing would help.
A bit later Skittle walked down the hallway to where Octavia was staying, levitating a spare outfit of Camazotz's that she had helped pick out and helped shrink to a fitting size behind him. When he got to the room the owl girl was staying at he knocked, waiting a moment before Octavia cracked open the door, only showing her head. "This should suffice, my mistress helped make sure it would be able to fit." Skittle said as he presented the mostlydeep to dark crimson outfit with gold accents.
"T-thank you...I guess." Octavia said as she blushed.
"No problem at all young mistress." Skittle replied as he simply levitated the outfit through the opening, it going precisely to the bed and landing on it neatly. "I shall be back in a few minutes when you are ready."
Octavia said nothing as she just continued to blush, nodding before shutting the door. As soon as it was shut Skittle made his way back down the hall, going to check to see if the servants were keeping to their efficiency and to also prepare to have a few of the hellhound and shark demon servants ready to get rid of all of Octavia's old clothes that she had brought. Which, he would make sure to take as long with that as Octavia needed while ensuring that she did not miss having lunch with Camazotz.
When he had finished going around the palace and checking on the other servants and how their duties were going, along with informing a few female hellhound servants about the old clothes that needed to be gotten rid of when she came out of her room, he went back to check on her, knocking on the door. "Young mistress, are you ready?"
There was a moment before Skittle heard Octavia walking from the other side, the door opening to reveal Octavia wearing the outfit he brought for her. "This fits…better than I expected it to."
"While my lady prefers to wear the attire of a male, she does ensure all of her outfits are made to fit perfectly to, and are made for, female preference and comfort." Skittle explained. "It's not that she refuses to wear dresses, she just prefers the power wearing such attire exudes and gives her."
"So what, she wears these just to...flex?" Octavia remarked.
"Precisely." Skittle answered.
Octavia blinked a bit as she processed that bit of information before once more looking over what she had put on. It was comfortable, and she did feel rather confident in it. But Octavia wasn't sure if it was something she would prefer to wear on the regular. Still, it surprisingly did look good on her. "Are the capes she always has for these necessary?" She asked.
"It completes the look and is functional as it is easily detached if needed." Skittle informed. "Although I have never seen or heard of a instance where my mistress ever needed to do so."
Octavia blinked again as she lifted the cape with one arm, and then the other, inspecting herself once more. "I suppose it's actually not that bad...I mean I could get used to it if I were to have anything like this."
"Well my lady did tell me to inform you that you may keep it as she has a spare." Skittle informed simply.
Octavia's eyes widened. "What?!"
"Yes, it is yours to keep. She figured you could use a nice gift." Skittle simply said, his expression as professional as it always was. "And quite frankly, I concur."
Octavia looked at Skittle, then at the outfit she wore before back at him. "Thank...you."
Skittle put a hand up as the other rested behind his back. "It is no issue as stated. Now, best be on your way to join my mistress for lunch. She looks forward to spending time with you."
"Right...thanks again." Octavia said as she made her way down the hall. Skittle simply let a slight smile form on his lips before going to fetch the female hellhound servants he had talked to so they could get rid of her old clothes.
As Camazotz sat at the dining she looked over some documents, some displays made out of hellfire with information about various demons, humans, and eldritch beings on them. Her attention was quickly diverted however as Octavia entered, a smile forming on her lips as she dismissed the displays and sat the documents she had to the side, retracting her extra set of arms back in. "Octavia, I'm happy to see you chose to join me for lunch, I'd love to spend more time around you. I must say, you do pull off that outfit." She remarked, the smile on her face remaining.
Octavia smiled faintly as she walked over. "Thank you...But you didn't need to let me keep the suit."
Camazotz giggled a bit. "Nonsense, I have plenty to spare and as I'm sure Skittle informed you, I felt you could use a gift and some kindness. That, and with all you're going through, especially in the last twenty four hours, a bit of normality and kindness is called for. In fact, I was going to give you a few more."
Octavia looked at Camazotz, blinking before giving her a hug. "Thanks…"
Camazotz found herself blinking, chuckling as she gave Octavia a pat. "You're welcome."
"Oh, I'm so sorry." Octavia said as she shot back from the hug, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"It's quite alright dear." Camazotz said with a smile. "I don't mind. It's only those who do so under false presumptions that need to worry." She added with a dark smirk, eyes flashing.
Octavia nervously chuckled before taking a seat next to Camazotz. "You're surprisingly...chill, for death. I figured you'd be more…"
"Dark, foreboding, dower, morose and misanthropic?" Camazotz asked with a grin. "My dear I take great pleasure in what and who I am, what I am capable of, and my power." She explained. "You and my mother share many traits, namely our cruelty and delight in the sadistic among her other traits like her keen mind and determination. There has been no one to ever quite catch my attention as she has, even in Heaven. In truth I just figured I just was not one to find such an interest in anyone. But then I got to meet and know your mother and well…" Camazotz chuckled. "She really is a remarkable woman."
Octavia felt a bit awkward with how her mother was talked about in such a fond manner by someone else. But then again, her parents were all but fully divorced now, so it was more the awkward feeling of hearing a new romantic partner talking about her. So despite the complicated feelings she was having right now, Octavia kind of felt...happy to finally hear something that wasn't insults or attacks against a parent.
"You don't seem that sadistic or cruel…" Octavia remarked.
Camazotz chuckled a bit. "It's all dependent on my mood and whim my dear." She explained. "If you want, I can show you through a demonstration with a servant." Camazotz offered with a dark mischievous grin.
"No! No...that's fine." Octavia panicked.
"Merely joking my dear...somewhat." Camazotz chuckled.
Octavia chuckled somewhat nervously. "Right."
"But don't worry, I'm not as senselessly sadistic as that. I mean, I can be and have been. But I do try to restrain myself a little." Camazotz explained. "We are hellspawn after all. Well, I'm a fallen angel, but essentially the same thing. But the point is such things are in our nature and you will have to accept that to some degree as Paimon's granddaughter."
"I know…" Octavia admitted. "But…"
"But you've only been exposed to so much." Camazotz surmised. "I'm not saying you need to become like him, your mother, or myself. But you need to be more accepting of your innate nature, if only to a degree. Again, not saying you can't still be you, as who you are is just as wonderful."
Octavia smiled. "Thank you…"
"So, what would you like to have?" Camazotz asked.
"Maybe just...a burger? If that's alright…" Octavia replied slightly sheepishly.
"It's more than fine my dear." Camazotz smiled, bringing up her hand and forming a mirror out of flame that revealed skittle. "Skittle, tell the cooks to make us some burgers…" She said before looking to Octavia. "Do you want anything specific on yours?"
"Ketchup...cheese...bacon...lettuce...onions...and tomato." Octavia replied.
"I'll do the same." Camazotz added.
"Very good my lady, medium rare?" Skittle inquired.
"Yes." Camazotz replied before looking to Octavia.
"Yeah…" Octavia echoed.
"Very good then, I shall inform the cooks." Skittle replied.
"Thank you Skittle." Camazotz said before stopping the communication spell.
It didn't take long for Skittle to come with their food, the two enjoying themselves as they talked. For as odd as it was that she was eating lunch with someone that seemed to be someone her mother was dating AND was acting more like a parent than her actual dad right now, it was a nice and pleasant experience. Again, it wasn't really a thought she wanted to have given what just happened, but the fact was it was no less true of a thought. She's just glad she didn't have the slip up to mentally think of Camazotz as dad. That...would have just caused her to just want to die on the spot.
"I'm back." Came Stella's voice "Sorry that took so long, I just want to make sure that they knew your wardrobe also needed to go to-" She paused as she walked into the dining room, noticing Octavia in a suit similar to Camazotz's. "Oh my, Octavia. You look..."
Octavia blushed as she looked away embarrassed. "weird?"
"Of course not!" Stella protested. "You look so regal and elegant!" She said as she walked over to her and gave her a hug. "But where did…"
"I gave her one of my spares." Camazotz answered. "I made sure it was altered to fit her comfortably so she could wear it whenever she wants." She said with a smile. "She does look rather dashing, doesn't she?"
"Very." Stella smiled. "And here I thought with her changes she'd have a hard time finding new looks."
"Mooom…" Octavia blushed.
"But it's true my astral princess, it looks like you can wear whatever you like and look great in it. In all honesty, I'm a little envious." Stella commented. "By the way, I managed to get everything you agreed to and sent. But I MIGHT have gotten just a few extra dresses and...well...undergarments I thought you might look good in."
"Mom!" Octavia blushed.
"Sorry, I just...after all you've gone through, and have to deal with during my and your father's divorce I just thought I'd spoil you a little. I also got some make up...in case you wanted to try any." Stella said as she looked at Octavia with a soft motherly expression, one that Octavia couldn't help but be happy to see again.
"...it's fine…thanks mum…" Octavia said as she got over her embarrassment.
"No problem my little one." Stella said as she hugged Octavia.
"By the way…" Octavia said as she looked at Camazotz. "Do you...have legions? I mean I know you're part of the Ars Goetia by honorary association, and are of higher status than likely the rulers of Hell themselves…" She continued, a dark wide grin forming on Camazotz' mouth. "But you are death after all, do you even have them?"
Camazotz chuckled. "Would you like to see them?"
"...Sure." Octavia said.
"And you Stella?" The fallen angel asked.
"I would actually." Stella replied.
"Very well." Camazotz said as she stood up, Octavia doing the same as she thought they would be walking somewhere.
To Octavia's surprise though Camazotz merely snapped her fingers, a simple shadowy silhouette outline of their figures that was just barely distinguishable as such appeared before them, slowly engulfing them and dissipating like ashy smoke particles after it had done so. The sensation was weird, almost like they were traveling through the very microscopic particles of reality itself. Before Octavia knew it they were already at another location, another...palace? Camazotz had more than one palace? Although she supposed that made since, given the fact that her grandfather had several that he lived in before giving each to his offspring and staying in his main on. This was likely either her main, or a spare.
"Follow me." Camazotz said as she started to walk, Octavia and Stella following behind. The three of them made their way through the palace, it too was filled with just as many servants. It seemed as eerie and forebodingly regal as the other only...bigger? Maybe this was her main palace. It wasn't long before they came to the entrance to an outside balcony, the sound of something like thunder coming from beyond it. As they reached the balcony Camazotz stood with her arms behind her back, Stella and Octavia resting their hands on the railing as they looked.
Beyond the palace was nothing but wide open space and covering it, legion upon legion of hellborn soldiers going through formation and marching drills in perfect unity. There were forty, no sixty, ninety, a hundred...legions as far as they could see. Just how many did Camazotz have? They couldn't really count more than a hundred and five but there could be more.
"Magnificent, aren't they?" Camazotz asked with a smirk. "And, if things continue as they are…" she added as she leaned close to Stella. "They could be yours as well."
Stella blinked as she looked on at the legions, a wicked grin starting to form on her face as the thought of them possibly becoming hers as well was very enticing. "Magnificent…"
"Wow…" Octavia said, choosing to somewhat ignore the exchange between Camazotz and her mother.
"Impressive, I know." Camazotz smiled as she looked at Octavia. "Now then, I think you have some things to try on my dear. Perhaps after that you and your mom can do hang out like you originally planned and then we can have dinner and do something together. That sound good?"
"Yeah…" Octavia smiled.
"Perfect, we can even push off your lessons another day or a few if you like, in case you want some more normalcy as well as getting used to your new looks." Camazotz offered.
"Thanks...I might want to do that." Octavia replied.
Camazotz nodded, smiling warmly at her. "Very well. Anyway, we best get back, I need to return to my duties." She said before snapping her fingers, the three of them once more being enveloped by the shadowy silhouettes.
When they got back Camazotz bid Stella and Octavia farewell before heading off to continue her duties, leaving Octavia and Stella to their own devices. The two of them following suit as they walked to where Octavia was staying to try on all the clothing Stella had gotten her. As they did, Octavia pulled her phone out of her pocket, sending the thank you text to Typhus for being there for her and for being a friend. And as they neared the room she was staying in, she couldn't help but actually look forward to spending the day with her mother and having a time of normalcy to just be...her.
