Authors Note: Hey Everyone! I kept my word! Here's Chapter 49 released in the timeframe I gave in my last Chapter. I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas and I hope all of you have a Happy New Year! So This is obviously my last Chapter of the year. It will also be my last Chapter till probably March 11th which will be the 4 year anniversary of this story AND the 50th Chapter! It is very doubtful that I will release a Chapter before March because I officially emptied my backlog. What this means is I AWAYS have at least something written for the next Chapter. But as of right now I have nothing written for Chapter 50. Recently I started reading this story from the beginning and I have to say it's really giving me some good motivation! I really want to make Chapter 50 as good as I possibly can for you guys! So that will probably take me a good 3 months. Also, all of you simply AMAZE me with the positive responses I have gotten on this story over the years! Now I a question for everyone: In Chapter 32 I talked about another story I was writing but decided to pull the plug on it and incorporate it into this story. I pulled the plug on it for 2 reasons. 1. I felt that I might have made it really dark. 2. I decided to concentrate solely on writing this story. Would any of you like to see me publish this other Kidnapping Story if I can find it (as I haven't worked on it since 2018) and tweak it a little? Let me know! Also IF things go the way I plan I MAY have a special announcement in Chapter 50th! So here it is, Chapter 49! Enjoy! :)

Chapter 49

Alvin's Relief

Theodore: Alright Alvin. Tell me what you remember and I will try to fill in the blanks for you.

Alvin: Ok I re..remember waking up and hoping Simon's kidnapping was just a nightmare. But what ha.. happened after we got up?

Theodore: You… You weren't yourself.

Alvin: What do you mean?

Theodore: You snapped. You bit Dave's head off and when I tried to calm you down you told me to shut up and keep out of this.

Alvin: Wow. He says in shock. I was re..really acting like that?

Theodore: Yes, and when Dave told you to apologize you stormed off and told Dave you would do what you damn well pleased.

Alvin: Now that you say that I do kinda re..remember storming off.

Theodore: Shortly after you left Sam showed up. When Dave told Sam, you ran out Sam told the police to be on the lookout for you and to bring you back.

Alvin: Yeah, that's so..something I can't forget.

Theodore: Oh, you remember all of that?

Alvin: I think so. I re..remember running from the police but they got me and brought me back, home, right?

Theodore: Um kinda. He says looking away from Alvin.

Alvin: What am I forgetting Theo?

Theodore sighs.

Theodore: You ran from the police. You were trying your best to find Simon even though you were in danger and the police were trying to help you but you just wouldn't listen.

Alvin: But I re..remember being brought home by the police. So, if I ran how did that happen.

Theodore: When you were running from the police you ran into a TV reporter. They asked if you could confirm Simon's kidnapping.

Alvin: I don't remember that at all.

Theodore: Well before you could answer another officer arrived and told you to freeze.

Alvin: Ah so that's when they took me home.

Theodore: Um there is more. You didn't freeze you ran. So, the officer deployed his taser on you. You were arrested for disobeying police orders and resisting arrest.

Alvin: So, I was tr..treated like a criminal?

Theodore: Yes. The officer is to be disciplined for what he did to you.

Alvin: Well, I guess that is all right then. So, what ha..happened after I was brought home?

Theodore: You tried to run away again so I pounced on you and told you I couldn't lose you too.

Alvin: You started to cry. I re..remember that now. Wait I remember more about that TV Reporter! They tried to bl..blame me for Simon's kidnapping!

Theodore: Yes.

Alvin: Wait I remember what ha..happened after that! I went upstairs and at some point, you brought me cookies. But I can't re..remember what happened after you brought me the cookies.

Theodore: Well, you were sitting in the window seat eating a cookie and….

Alvin: And wh..what!? I need to know Theo! Please!

Theodore Sighs

Theodore: I was sitting with you trying to comfort you and I guess….

Alvin: PL..PLEASE THEO! I HAVE TO KNOW! He says pleading with Theodore.

Theodore: Do I tell the truth or lie? He says thinking to himself.

Theodore: Alvin maybe you should rest before I tell you anymore.

Alvin: Theo please! You know I wo..won't rest! Why won't you tell me!? He says continuing to plead with Theodore.

Theodore: Ok Alvin here's what happened. He says letting out a sigh. I bumped you when I got down and with the window open you fell out of it. I am so sorry Alvin! It's all my fault that you are in this hospital! He says tearing up.

Alvin: Theo don't cry! It was an accident! I am alive and with you helping me fill in the blanks in my memory I am certain I will recover faster now.

Theodore: How will me filling in the blanks of your memory help you recover faster? He says wiping away his tears.

Alvin: I couldn't sleep be..because of the not knowing. Now with knowing what ha..happened and with Simon found I feel like a huge weight has been li..lifted from my shoulders. I can finally sleep now. He says letting out a yawn.

Theodore: Well then, I will go and let you sleep.

Theodore then turns around and starts to leave.

Alvin: Hey Theo.

Theodore: Yes Alvin?

Alvin: Wo..would you stay with me till I fall asleep?

Theodore: Sure Alvin. He says smiling.

Alvin then scoots over and pats his bed signaling for Theodore to get in bed with him.

Theodore then hops up into bed with Alvin.

Alvin: Thank you, Theo…

Alvin quickly falls asleep.

Theodore: Boy this brings back memories. He says to himself thinking back to their recent stay in the hotel.

Back to OR:

Dr. Riley: Now removing the right lung.

Dr. Keith: Good Job Dr. Riley.

Dr. Riley: Thank yo…..

BEEP BEEP BEEP!

Dr. Keith: BP Dropping rapidly.

Dr. Riley: His chest cavity is filling with blood! Suction!

Dr. Keith begins suctioning.

Dr. Riley: I am unable to find the source of all this bleeding!

Dr. Keith: Just calm down and think. Where could it be coming from? What can you do?

Dr. Riley then takes a deep breath and begins thinking.

Dr. Riley: I know! I can feel where it is coming from.

Dr. Keith nods his head.

Dr. Riley then begins feeling around trying to find the source of the bleed.

Dr. Riley: FOUND IT!

Dr. Keith: Good job Dr. Riley now Sucher it up.

Dr: Riley: BP is starting to stabilize now.

Dr. Keith: You better close him up. After what he has been through, I don't know how much more his body can take.

Dr. Riley: I agree.

Dr. Riley begins closing up while Dr. Keith assists.

Back to Alvin and Theodore:

Theodore: Well, I guess I better go back to Dave and Bobby. He says thinking to himself.

Theodore very carefully gets off Alvin's bed and tips toes out the door. He then makes his way back to Dave and Bobby.

Bobby: How's Alvin Theodore!?

Theodore: He is sleeping soundly now. He says with a smile on his face.

Dave: What took so long Theodore?

Theodore: Alvin was awake when I went in. I told him about Simon.

Dave: Oh, Theodore I don't know if that was a good idea or not. How did he react?

Theodore: Surprisingly really well for Alvin. He felt like he could finally get some rest. As I was about to leave, he asked if I would stay with him till, he fell asleep

Dave: Well, that's a relief.

Back to The OR:

Dr. Riley: I have finished closing him up.

Dr. Keith: I will get a nurse to take him up to the ICU while you go and update the family.

Dr. Riley: Um Dr. Keith…..

Dr. Keith: Yes?

Dr. Riley: Thank you for everything.

Dr. Keith nods his head and Dr. Riley leaves the OR with Dr. Keith following shortly thereafter

Dr. Riley heads to the waiting room but stops just short of it to gather her thoughts.

Dr. Riley: Man, it has been a long time since I have done this. She says thinking to herself.

Dr. Riley then finishes heading to the waiting room. She sees Dave, Theodore, and Bobby.

Dr. Riley: Hello everyone.

Dave: Dr. Riley hello! Can you help us!? We need….

Dr. Riley: You need an update on Simon's surgery.

Dave: Wow you really are good at knowing what people are thinking! He says with a chuckle.

Dr. Riley: Well, I was the surgeon who operated on Simon. He is out of surgery and is going to be put in the ICU.

Dave: So, he is going to be alright!?

Dr. Riley Sighs

Dr. Riley: Simon went through a lot. Both physically and mentally. His right lung was badly damaged and I had no choice but to remove it. Now just so you know he can breathe with one lung but it will take time for his body to adjust to that so he needs to take it easy. I have repaired what I can to his body but he may need more surgery. If I did any more to him now, I am not sure he would make it off the table.

Dave: Dr. Riley, we cannot thank you enough! He says wrapping his arms around her and hugging her.

Dr. Riley: You are very welcome! We will let you know when you can see him. She says with a warm smile on her face.

Dave: Ok, again thank you, Dr. Riley!

Dr. Riley nods her head and walks off.
