He tried to fight sleep, but it came but even so, he was hyper-aware. Sleep was not sound even if he was excused for the first time. The first sound of wood breaking and his eyes snapped open but they didnt do him a lot of good.

Kagome sat up with a gasp, her hand went to her bow and she looked around.

"Can you even see?" He asked,

Kagome turned to him "My eyes adjust, im used to the dark,"

"We should move on,"

Kagome groaned, "You might not need sleep but I do,"

"It has been some time,"

"It hasn't been enough time,"

"I do not like being out in the open," He admitted "I am strong but in this form, I am, weakened,"

She knew this of course.

"Im not good to you tried,"

"And I am no good to you dead,"

Kagome yawned "If we can find a place can I please sleep? You're human now so people won't be so scared," They didnt have to actually sleep on the ground.

"Hn,"

Kagome gathered her stuff and he stomped out the fire and they made their way to a nearby village.

Like most villages, someone was awake when they came. The light coming from the hut in the front told Kagome that this home belonged to the village elder and so she knocked on the door.

He opened "Hmm, who is there,"

"Hi,"

"Oh, a Miko?"

"Sorry it's so late, but would you happen to have a room?"

The man then looked at Sesshomaru,

"For me and my husband," She said quickly,

"A married Miko?"

Kagome just smiled and she was glad Sesshomaru didnt speak.

"Well, it's always a little safer with a Miko around, sure,"

The man gave them a small hut that was more like the size of a broom closet.

"Why did you tell him I was your husband,"

Kagome sighed as she lay on the bed of hay. "Because he would not have given us a room,"

"You are a Miko,"

"Thats makes it even worse," She looked at him "You know this,"

He did but he was just so tired. Kagome watched as the demon Lord faught to keep awake.

It was the first battle she had ever seen him lose.
