Kingdom Hearts: Web of the Dark Heart

Chapter 18: Cyber Assistant

Peter told Cheep to have the Ghost head back to Traverse Town, thinking everyone could use a hot shower after what they went through.

Doom: I saw the whole thing on the monitor, sir.

Peter: Yeah… Makes you think, doesn't it?

Doom: (Unsure tone) You think… there's some room in the religion for a Clone Trooper.

Peter, smiling gently, patted his friend's shoulder.

Peter: Plenty.

Peter then found Sparky playing a video game with Sora and Laura finishing her coloring book. Wanda was reading a book while watching them perfectly.

Peter: Okay, we're going back to Traverse Town, everyone. Let's get ready to rest and get a hot bath.

Everyone smiled, comforting him that the experience they went through didn't ruin anything about them. Landing in the hanger bay, Wanda took the kids to get cleaned up. Peter, wearing his eyepiece, headed for the store with Doom and Sparky. Sparky actually found a copy of the same orange ball his cousins, Stitch and Ritcher, were fond of and got it. Looking around, the Clone Trooper found some Crucifixion Cross necklaces.

Doom: Give me the silver one. Plenty of them.

The clerk did so. Meanwhile, Peter decided to make good on giving Karen a robot body. So far, every robot form in the store they saw wasn't exactly friendly.

Peter: (Looking at an assassin model) None of these are exactly friendly.

Clerk Assistant: What exactly are you looking for?

Peter: (Looking at the bodies while Karen scanned them) Something that can fight but is also good for childcare.

Peter kept browsing until he spot a female-design robot that looked like an android from an iconic video game series. Peter scanned it and it had no built-in weapons and looked caring enough.

Peter: (To the clerk) I'll take this one.

Clerk: (Seeing the body then checking his inventory records) Huh, don't see this in the inventory. (Shrugging) Must be an oversight. You want this wrapped with a restraining bolt?

Peter: No, thank you. (To Karen) Begin the download.

Peter felt nausea saying that phrase as Karen downloaded herself into the body. The body came online and freed itself from the bindings.

Peter: Karen?

Peter got ready for the worst case.

Karen: (From the body) Yes?

Peter relaxed, knowing Karen was trustworthy.

Peter: Is everything working well?

Karen: (Testing body) All systems seem to be working perfectly. Upon internal scan, it seems this unit is built for cyber combat, medical assistance, and scientific research.

Peter: Any internal weaponry?

Karen: (Bringing out a fusioncutter from her new left wrist) Nothing outside of a Fusioncutter. If I am to assist in combat, I will need a weapon.

Peter agreed and took Karen to the weapons aisle. Karen picked out a DC-17 Hand Blaster to use. Upon finishing their shopping Peter found Wanda and the kids waiting for them.

Peter: Everyone feeling nice and clean?

Sora: Yeah! I feel squeaky clean, Mr. Peter.

Laura smiled, actually trying to speak.

Larua: S-S-S-S-Squeaky.

Wanda, extremely happy, pulled Laura into a hug. Then she remembered something important.

Wanda: Oh, something else. The Professor came by and uploaded some coordinates into the Ghost. Said we had to meet up with the king to speak to someone. He also said your friends were sent home. Mentioned that they've done their job and deserved to go home.

Peter was sad his friends couldn't stay but was happy they were able to go home. His attention then turned to the meeting.

Peter: Sounds important. We better get moving.

Karen: (With their items) Peter, I have the items we bought.

Sora: (As Doom and Sparky went back to the ship) Cool! A real robot! Riku and Kairi are going to be so jealous they missed this!

Karen: Hello, everyone. I am Karen, Peter Parker's Artificial Assistant.

Wanda: (Shaking Karen's hand) Well Karen, welcome to the group.

Returning to the Ghost, they set the computer to lead them to the coordinates.
