Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom or 6Teen. I do not own the original story this is based on.
The ides of October were upon Amity Park as Danny and his friends ended another school day. The days seemed warmer as they walked home, hoping for a chance for some non-supernatural hang time. They could use it after today with the Lunch Lady starting a food fight. Danny and Tucker gave their goth friend a small glare as she protested when the school ordered food due to a bacteria problem with the cafeteria food.
They ordered from a place that had no vegan meals or substitutes, angering the ultra-recyclo-vegetarian. So, she pulled a little prank and somehow got the school to call an all-vegan place. As if on cue, the Lunch Lady came in the form of her giant meat monster and terrorized everyone.
Danny stopped her but barely got anything to eat. And that was not the worst of it. Earlier, Sam changed the menu, Dash blamed him and took his rage out on the poor boy.
Not to mention Pointdexter took a shot at him. That was a surprising encounter, but the ghost seemed mad at Danny. Like he crossed a line. But there was no witty banter to give away anything as Danny took one arm and pinned the nerdy ghost down before sucking him into the thermos.
The only silver lining was that the nerd cleared the hallway. Dash wouldn't take the time to find the ghost boy for any more punishment, which left the trio with extra time.
Sam, Tucker, and Danny agreed to a little time to themselves before meeting at the Nasty Burger. The boy could use some time to himself.
Danny opened the door as he got home, seeing his sister in the kitchen waving at him.
"Oh, Danny, why don't you join us at the table," Jazz singsonged.
Despite his long school day, the boy was energetic enough to walk to the kitchen, leaving his backpack by the couch. He needed a snack and hoped there was some leftover, fudge, or one more Melanoff Bar. The ghost boy could use a refuel.
"Sure thing, Jazz. Just let me recharge with something," Danny said as a lovely hand gave him a McSquiddles Bar.
"How about a hint?"
"Thanks, Jen. I need that," Danny said as he took a bite. After one or two chews, he registered what he just said and noticed his long-distance girlfriend sitting at the table. "Jen!?" he said in excitement. This was the last thing he expected. "What are you doing here!?"
"Surprise! Happy Thanksgiving!" Wyatt said from the other end of the room.
Danny was surprised to see Wyatt as we. At first, he thought he was seeing things, but a hug from Jen said otherwise. Her warmth was soothing as Danny embraced her. But then he realized something.
"Hey, wait...Thanksgivings in November!"
"Not in Canada," Wyatt replied. "It's in October."
"Seriously!?" Danny replied. He could not believe his luck.
"Yeah, it's Thanksgiving, and we got some time off school," Wyatt added. He sat down, taking a sip of coffee. The boy never seemed without it.
"So, we decided to pay you guys a surprise visit," Jen said as she gave her boyfriend a kiss on the cheek.
Danny was thrilled to hear this and hugged her.
"Where is everyone else?" Danny asked.
Jena and Wyatt looked at each other with unsure faces. Jazz was speechless. The three glanced at the stairs to the lab as Danny walked down the steps. Slowly, the ghost boy mentally prepared himself for whatever he might see.
Unaware of why the teens were there in the first place.
"Come on, Nikki. You can do this," Caitlin said besides the punk girl.
Nikki was with Catilin, Jonesy, and Jude, staring at the Fenton Ghost Portal. Nikki tried to inch closer before the portal suddenly snapped open, scaring everyone as they ran for cover. The punk girl stayed still as fear kept her paralyzed. Any attempt to move was met with shivering legs and goosebumps everywhere. The swirling vortex of lime and dark green seemed to laugh wickedly at her.
Her spines felt a blizzard run down, hail and everything, as she stared. Despite being to the Ghost Zone last month, Nikki couldn't get the trip out of her mind. She couldn't even hear of horror movies anymore, something Jude learned the hard way when he talked about the twenty-fur hour zombie marathon he saw once. And while Danny Phantom did save her, his friend's method of returning to Canada didn't help much. Who knew a map could make a crazier ride than a roller coaster.
Just the mere sight of the portal made her bladder shiver. Good thing it was empty.
"I can't do it!" Nikki yelled as she ran to her friends.
Her friends were worried for her. Usually, Nikki is pretty tough, but she has been distressed at unusual times since she was kidnapped by that ghost. And being at the Khaki Barn was worse. While it was worth noting how the punk girl powered through, there were days where limits were hit. On those days, Nikki was found at the Lemon most of the time.
It was then Danny ran down the stairs as Jen, Wyatt, and Jazz followed. Jazz pulled out her parent's invention, the Fenton Ghost Peeler, from her pocket, aiming it around the lab.
"Did anything come out of the portal?" Jazz said with alarming volume.
"What's going on!?" Danny yelled as he ran down. "I heard screaming!"
"Hey, Danny!" Caitlin waved.
Jazz put the weapon away as Danny greeted the others.
"Hey."
"Sup, bro."
"What's going on here?" Danny asked as he noticed Nikki didn't say anything. "Is Nikki alright?"
"Nikki's been going through some stuff after she was taken to the Ghost Zone," Jen explained. "Remember what I told you? She's been seeing a therapist, but he doesn't...exactly..."
"He thinks I'm crazy! The guy lives in a world where superheroes exist, and he thinks I'm crazy!?" Nikki yelled again.
"Calm down, Nikki," Caitlin said, but the punk girl is still upset and rants.
"Why!? Because I need to calm down after being kidnapped by a crazy ghost who forced me to work in a Khaki Barn for my entire life!?" Nikki snapped. She started huffing and pointed to her friends as the rage took over. "You try folding sweaters for eternity!"
"But destroying everything did help," Jonesy said, trying to calm her down. It worked for the most part as Nikki breathed normally again. Jen and Caitlin comforted their friend while the others spoke to Danny.
"It's kinda why we're here again," Wyatt said. "We figured this place might also help her calm down a bit. She's not psycho, but..."
"Bra needs to chill and find a new mellow," Jude said as he pulled something out of his pocket. "I've been giving her some...herbal encouragement, but...yeah, Nikki needs to resolve things."
"Or just time to sort things out," Wyatt added. "I mean, Amity Park's the best place for her. Plenty of ghost hunters and Danny Phantom kicking anything that goes boo."
Danny glanced at Nikki. The punk girl was calming down more, though she wasn't that appreciative of Caitlin's idea of shopping therapy. The teens had a good idea. After all, with ghosts being fought daily, maybe they could figure something out. Or at least see if Danny's parents could make them some anti-ghost equipment.
As the ghost boy thought about what he could do, Jonesy spoke.
"Whatever," Jonesy scoffed. He got into a stance, looking ready to fight. "I tell you, though, once the Jonesmeister gets into his groove, nothing can stop him. Not even the ladies." He said that last part with wiggling eyebrows and a suave smile. His friends were skeptical, given that they knew him better.
"You mean like you tried to do on our date back in the summer?" Jazz asked, scaring the boy.
Jonesy jumped into Jude's arms as he turned to see the smiling sister staring. The gang did the same as some giggled and held their laughter. All Jonesy could do was get down and give a small growl at his humiliation.
"Ok, one, I did not do that, and two, what you did was worse," Jonesy said, pointing at Jazz.
"What, you mean give you a psych evaluation because you tried to play macho man with me?"
"You gave him an evaluation? Awesome!" Jude chuckled, not understanding the concept. The dude was on a new level of mellow.
"Wait, you dated Jonesy?" Danny asked.
Everyone laughed as the teen in question scowled. Letting go of his friend, the boy walked to the center and did everything to defend his manliness.
"I never told you?" Jazz interrupted the boy's salvaging attempt. "I went on a date with him, and he tried to act all cool and suave. But I saw through that instantly. When he tried to put the moves on me, I decided to...have some fun." The sister smiled mischievously, a rare emotion for the girl.
"Hey, we were totally having fun!" Jonesy said.
"And by that, he means going to a movie to see how interesting our date could get. Which meant nothing," Jazz added, making the others laugh, and Jonesy grumbled.
Even Nikki laughed, recalling how Jonesy ran behind the gang like a scaredy-cat at the sight of Jazz. Jazz barely remembered him at first.
"Oh, it's you," Jazz said, smirking.
It was a pleasant surprise when Jazz revealed she had a date with Jonesy over the summer, especially when the Hispanic boy jumped back in shock at seeing her. They knew immediately she made an impression but didn't know how much. Needless to say, despite fear circulating in her body, Nikki found major respect for Jazz.
"Anyway, how about we hang around town for a bit? We can get away from the ghosts for now," Danny offered.
Jen smiled.
"Sure," She said, happy to spend time with him.
"Spending time with my girlfriend. I'm not complaining."
But before anyone left, the doorbell rang. Jack and Maddie, who were upstairs finishing a project in the Ops center, intercom the kids to see if they could get the door.
"I'll get it," Jonesy said, walking to the door.
As he opened up the household, the boy leaped in shock, seeing who was at the door. A face he had only seen back home.
"Ron-the-Rent-a-Cop!?" Jonesy yelled.
The Candian teens gasped as they ran up and saw their law-enforcing enemy at the door. The mall security officer was stationed at the mall back home. What was he doing here?
The stern man didn't say anything. He gave a surprised glance as he walked past Jonesy and towards the Fentons. Specifically Jack and Maddie. The couple was confused at the sight of the man, considering he seemed to know the Canadian teens.
"Can I help you?" Maddie asked, reaching for a Fenton Blaster tucked away in her belt.
"I hear you folks sell anti-ghost weaponry," Ron finally said.
"You got that right!" Jack replied in excitement. He rushed off to the lab and back in an instant before anyone could speak. When he came back, in his arms was a Fenton Ecto-Bazooka, held over his shoulders. If Maddie hadn't removed the charge container, the large man would have fired immediately.
The Fenton matriarch was a bit more suspicious of the man.
"You want to buy ghost hunting gear, Mr...?"
"Officer. Officer Ron Watson," Ron introduced himself. He showed his badge. "Pardon if I'm not in uniform, but the mall I protect came under attack by some sort of paranormal phenomenon. And since Canada has yet to implement such defense for civilian protection, I overheard these civilians talking about your...business."
"Our...business?" Maddie glanced at Jack. Ron's speech pattern seemed very tense and unpredictable. Like a certain actor. "Your mall?"
"Yes, the Galleria Mall in Toronto."
Maddie and Jazz were perplexed by the guy. Jack was happy to have a customer from Canada, which could mean having his equipment across the nation. Danny just stood there with Jen and the others. The teens were silent, wanting nothing to do with the rent-a-cop.
"I see...well, we can send you some ghost hunting equipment, but we'll have to mail and send it by the book. Both American and Candian."
"Of course. Thank you for your time."
Ron walked away, ignoring everyone else as he went straight to the door. Jonesy, eager to have the man out, opened it. The boy counted the seconds as his enemy left the building and his free time.
"Bye, Ron. Don't be a stranger now," Jonesy said, closing the door behind the man.
But the cop put his foot in the door and gave a mean glare as he exited. Jonesy gulped loudly.
"But! If I catch one of you maggots breaking ANY laws...prepare for consequences from the proper authorities," Ron warned before leaving the Fenton household.
The door closed eerily as the teens watched with faces full of fear. Now, they not only had to deal with ghosts but a strict cop, who was way out of his jurisdiction. Jonesy and Jude groaned as Nikki shook her head.
"I take it that guy does not get out much, does he?" Danny stated.
The teens nodded in unison as they all crashed in the living room. Looks like their vacation got a whole lot less fun. Though Ron couldn't be that bad...right?
Saturday came, and the ensuring morning chaos at Catherine Cooke's home. The woman sighed loudly as the teens scrambled to get ready for the day. She was starting to wonder if this was going to be a regular occurrence.
The same routine happened as last time, with first the teens fighting over the bathrooms. The girls were the most serious as they clamored about. Caitlin was the first to claim a room as she shuffled around in her make-up bag for just the right product. Next came Jen, who managed to claim the second as Nikki held the boys back. The punk girl quickly managed to throw off Jonesy and Wyatt as the last bathroom was hers.
"Is this like going to be happening a lot?" Jude asked. The boy was never one for a morning shower, much to the disgust of everyone. He went downstairs to grab some munchies. Jonesy just stood there and sulked in his smelly armpits while the girls did their own morning routine.
Catherine sighed as she saw all of this. She thought, for some reason, things would go along smoothly and with a bit of maturity. Why did she think that?
Her phone rang as the woman contemplated her situation. she picked up and saw the number, breaking her out of her thoughts. Walking over to the other room for some privacy, she answered and spoke with an authoritative tone.
"Sir, I'm sorry for not calling in sooner. My cousin and her friends are back in town and...yes, they met with...no sir, not yet...I understand."
A loud crash came from the other side as the boys started fighting over the newly reopened bathroom. Catherine seethed, hoping it wasn't her nice coat hanger with the lovely Agreste brand jacket she bought for herself.
"Do you guys mind? I'm on the phone!?" Catherine yelled. The noise stopped as everyone decided to settle matters in a somewhat orderly fashion, quietly. "Thank you." She went back to her call. "Anyway, Sir, no known movement from the other, but it's only a matter of time...yes sir. I'm on it."
Hanging up, Catherine sighed as she plopped herself on a chair. The smell of tea filled her nose as she noticed a cup nearby, courtesy of Caitlin, who gave a nervous smile. The woman gave a smile back, thanking her cousin for the hot beverage.
Caitlin grabbed a seat beside Catherine, and the two shared some quiet family bonding over breakfast.
Meanwhile, everyone was looking at Jude, wondering if they could get him cleaned up for the day. They were unaware of how long it's been since he cleaned himself, and that was a worrying thought. A quick shove into a hot, running shower proved to have some success, mainly in getting him soaked and any smell gone. A change of clothes and the boy was good.
"Come on! Are we done yet?" Jen said, looking forward to seeing Danny again.
"Hard to say, did Wyatt have his hot brown morning potion yet?" Jude snickered.
Wyatt rolled his eyes as he took a sip of coffee. He only said the phrase one time, and his friend sometimes would take a shot at him for that. Granted, it was nothing bad, and it didn't bother him. All he did was take a loud gulp of his coffee, and everyone was sated.
"Good. now let's go."
After everyone was prepped and ready for the day, they all headed towards the bus stop. Next stop, Fenton works.
Danny had a rough awakening, mainly because his alarm was replaced with the annoying BEWARE of the Box Ghost. The ghost had no concept of letting sleeping dogs lie and found himself on another end of a beating as Danny's first instinct was freezing his head before being stuffed into the Fenton thermos.
"Next time you want to bother me...don't," Danny sternly commanded as he groggily went back to properly waking up. Getting all cleaned up could be a hassle on some days. Especially when Jack Fenton works on a machine that spews or explodes into goo. Which he was doing right now.
"Just a few more adjustments, and this baby will goo up any ghost within a twenty-five-meter vicinity!" Jack cried out.
Danny and Jazz ran out as fast as possible. The latter had taken a head start due to her past with goo. She could sometimes swear she was a goo magnet. The two closed the door without a moment to spare as the door and windows were caked in ectoplasmic goo.
"Haha! It works!" Jack yelled triumphantly.
Danny and Jazz split up as the ghost boy met up with his friends. Going down to the bus stop, the trio met up with their Canadian friends. His stomach rumbled as it matched songs with Jude, who proclaimed his hunger, wondering where he could grab a bite to eat.
The Amity trio smiled as they led the group to the best teen burger joint in town: Nasty Burger.
"So like, this place was called Tasty Burger, but someone changed the sign as a prank?" Jude started.
"And they didn't change it?" Jonesy finished. He wore a smile as the thought of a prank kept in pristine condition gave him enough joy to shed tears. It was too beautiful.
"Yeah, that's the story," Danny said, looking around for anyone of particular annoyance. "But it's pretty good."
"They have fries?" Jude asked, rubbing his stomach.
"Jude, it's a burger joint. Of course, they have fries," Wyatt answered.
"Oh...do you think they have shakes?"
The gang smiled at the boy. He may not always have his head on the ground, but he meant no harm. As the teens walked over, they noticed a raven mascot at the front door, selling tickets. Danny, Sam, and Tucker groaned as they knew the bird was from Casper High.
Ever since the principal noticed a dip in sporting event attendance, and the fact the vice-principal loves school spirit, they would have the mascot sell tickets around the Nasty Burger; the school even cut a deal with the restaurant.
The teens ignored the bird save for Jen, who looked excited. The sport-loving teen was excited to see an American football game in person, even a high school game. Even if the games generally play the same.
"Who's up for the big game?" Jen asked.
The group gave a collective groan full of rejection. Nobody but Jen gave a hoot about the game. Danny, Tucker, and Sam were even less enthusiastic given their history with the jocks. Specifically, their pranks and punishments whenever they felt like it.
"No thanks. I get plenty of spirit back at school," Dany said, snarking the word spirit. He could recall the many times stuffed in a locker or wedgied up a flag pole too many times for anyone's comfort.
"I'm gonna say how stupid these events are. The only thing fun about it is seeing our team usually get pummeled," Sam added. "And even then, nobody goes."
"Yeah, it's getting real boring watching Dash lose. None of the geeks even record it anymore," Tucker added.
"Totally," Jude said.
"Jude, we don't go to school here," Wyatt said with a smirk matching the others.
"We don't? Guess I need food badly."
Jude walked inside as Danny followed. The two made their way up to the counter, where a familiar face greeted them. The others walked in as they grabbed a table. The place wasn't packed and had no jocks or popular kids in sight. Sam gave a deep, relaxing sigh of relief, enjoying what could be a peaceful day. Thank goodness the Lunch Lady was still trapped in the Ghost Zone for now.
"Hey, Danny," Valerie greeted with a smile. "Who's the new guy?"
"Hey, Val, this is Jude. He's a friend of my girlfriend," Danny introduced. Jude added a Sup? and began looking at the menu.
"Jen...sounds like a nice girl," Valerie said as she typed on the register. She muttered out. "At least she should be better than that other girl, Felicia." Val then asked Danny in her normal tone. "You want the usual?"
"Definitely." Danny's stomach grumbled. "Make that a double."
Your eyes aren't bigger than your stomach, Danny. Not to mention your ears too. That's ONE regular mega-mighty-meaty-meal for you, and what'll you have?"
"You have like Ragin Cagin Fries?"
"Ehhh...no, but I'll tell ya what, we can give you some extra spicy fries."
"Thank you."
Valerie typed their orders, and the boys paid for their meals.
Danny and Jude promptly got their food and walked over to the table the gang got, a nice curved corner booth that fit everyone together. Jude scarfed down the fries at a leisurely pace as Danny started on his brunch. Jen, curious about the taste, grabbed one of the ghost boy's fries. IT was the same as any other, but still enjoyable. And even more so as she was handed another.
"So, the game? I'll get us tickets," Jen said.
Danny paused before taking another bite of his mega-mighty-meaty burger and gave a small groan. His idea of a good time was avoiding the football team at all costs.
"I don't know, Jen. Sports aren't really the things we go to," Danny replied.
"For more than one reason, I might add," Tucker said with a frown.
Sam just crossed her arms. The goth was never a fan of the events. As stated before, it was just another loss for Casper High as the football team was trounced, tackled, and tamed by the opposing team. And that always meant the jock's "losing party" traditions of beating anyone they could after the lights were off.
A tradition she and her friends wanted nothing to do with. Not to mention Jonesy, Nikki, Wyatt, Jude, and Caitlin weren't fond of the idea as well.
"Come on, it'll be fun," Jen said, pushing the idea. She gave Danny a pair of sweet, fluttering doe eyes, and the boy soon found himself cracking.
"Ok fine," Danny sighed. Jen kissed him on the cheek as she dragged him to grab tickets.
Once Jen was gone, Tucker, Jonesy, and Jude laughed at Danny. The latter were making faces as the former held himself together.
"Dude, you are so whipped," Tucker joked to his best friend.
Danny rolled his eyes and gave a smirk. "So, have you made plans with Velma? I mean, you two are still owed for a second date."
Tucker stopped and gave a mopey face. Caitlin walked over and gave him a hand on the shoulder.
"It's ok. I'm sure you two will see each other again. It's definitely had to work if she's the one," Caitlin said.
"Thanks, Caitlin," Tucker replied. His face gave a small smile as Jen came back.
"Ok, we're all set for tonight. Man, this is gonna be fun!"
Everyone rolled their eyes at Jen, having different thoughts on their minds.
Night fell on Amity Park as Casper High's football field lit up for the big game. The place was hot from the lights, and the people packed together. Although it was still early October, a chilly air blew through.
Jen got everyone tickets, but most of the teens weren't sure they wanted to come. Jen herself had some second thoughts when she was reminded Dash was on the team. Then again, she alleviated her mood when the thought of him losing cheered her up. Everyone but Danny, Sam, and Tucker thought so, at least.
Up against Casper High Ravens were the Middleton High Mad Dogs. The bleachers were packed as fans cheered loudly.
It seemed most of the crowd came from Middleton.
The gang took their seats as they watched will mix anticipation. As far as Danny was concerned, he was here for Jen. Even the thought of Dash losing couldn't bring him here.
Jonesy continued to slurp his drink loudly while sulking. Hoping to alleviate his mood, he took the time to watch the cheerleaders, mainly the Middleton cheerleaders with exposed mid-drift who jumped and kicked. He was quite happy with how hotter they were too.
As the girls stacked into a pyramid, the Hispanic boy took a moment to memorize their faces for after the game. He wore a coy smile that lasted until he saw the head cheerleader at the top, whose face he already knew.
Startled, he spat his drink all over Jude, garaging the boy's mellow.
"Dude!" Jude screamed as he wiped the spat drink off him. "What gives!?"
Jonesy pointed across the field to the other team's cheerleaders. At first, everyone thought he was a perv. When they noticed how he was still staring, they properly looked to see the head cheerleader, a red-headed girl with green eyes and a figure that drew men like Jonesy. But what made her attractive was the confidence and spirit she showed in her skills.
And soon, everyone recognized the teen hero, Kim Possible.
Danny stared at her. She had been his first date and left a lasting impression. Not to mention she wasn't someone you'd forget easily.
"So that's Kim Possible," Caitlin commented. "She's pretty."
"Dude! That's putting it mildly! She's hot!" Jude exclaimed.
Wyatt nodded in agreement as he took a gulp of his coffee. He could see the appeal and was more casual in his reaction.
Kim flipped, posed, and cheered loudly as she and the Middleton cheer squad ramped up their act. These girls had real school spirit, from stacking to launching each other in the air as the crowd went wild.
Paulina noticed this and grinded her teeth. She was not going to be outdone by another squad in what was essentially looking good. What if the ghost boy was watching? Taking charge, she ordered her group to do the same. They started with a basic pyramid but stumbled at the first stack. Having done nothing but poses and dance moves caught up and bit them in the back.
Paulina cringed her face as the other cheerleaders helped one another up. Throughout the game, Kim and her cheer squad hogged all the attention. And she couldn't fathom why.
Kim, with a smirk, glanced at the fallen spirit as she was launched in the air. She twirled as she glanced at the bleachers, where a certain boy had caught her eye. And not just caught. Danny and Kim locked vision. The ghost boy stared in swirling emotions as Kim sent him a wink.
While watching the ordeal with a hawk's eye, Jen realized who the teen hero was winking at. She turned to see Danny sporting a light blush and gasped. While it had been months since the dating service, it was obvious Danny could still pluck a string in Kim's heart. Jen felt a stone in her stomach churn at the idea of a famous hero flirting with her boyfriend. It was painful. The idea went from daydream to nightmare with Danny going off with Kim up until their wedding.
Snapping out of her thoughts, the girl possessively wrapped her arm around Danny. There was no way she was losing her boyfriend to the teen hero.
The Casper Raven lost yet another game, to no one's surprise. And that meant the geeks, freaks, and nerds had to vacate as fast as possible before the jocks wanted to blow off steam. While the football team would continue to harass everyone tomorrow, it was better under surveillance and witnesses than none.
Well, not everyone left immediately.
Kim walked over to the other side as she saw Danny talking with everyone. Sam and Jen noticed her presence as Jude tapped Wyatt and Jonesy on the shoulder. Tucker, Nikki, and Caitlin wondered why the conversation was dropping as they turned to see the redhead approaching. Danny, being the last one to notice, walked over to greet Kim.
"Hey, Kim," Danny greeted with some awkwardness.
"Hey, Danny," Kim greeted. Without warning, she gave the boy a hug, instantly earning the ire of Jen.
While jealous, there wasn't much the girl could do. In her eyes, Jen was a simple girl who loved sports, while Kim was a famed hero. Granted, she wasn't like the Avengers or Justice League but was up there with others like the Teen Titans and the Sailor Scouts in Japan.
And she wasn't the only one to feel that way. Though Jonesy was more jealous at how Danny received a hug from the hot cheerleader. And in her uniform no less.
Jonesy walked up after a few deep breaths. Nikki and Jude watched as they waited for him to fail. Wyatt pinched his nose as Caitlin and Sam wondered how long it would take for him to be turned down. Would it be less or more than a minute, they would never know as Dash pushed everyone aside.
"Hey there," Jonesy started, but he didn't get a chance to finish as Dash pushed him out of the way.
"Hey there, beautiful. Why should you talk to garbage when you should get to know a king like me?" Dash bragged as he pushed the boys away. "After all, just because you're cheering for the other team—"
Kim ignored the jock as she helped Danny up then Jonesy, much to Dash's confusion.
"Uhhh...what are you doing?" Dash asked.
"Helping them up.
"But you're a cheerleader."
"So don't do the stereotype."
Dash was unable to comprehend anything. First, Fenton found a girlfriend, and now a hottie cheerleader helped him up? The world had to be going crazy. But he didn't have time to think about that or anything as Tetslaff yelled for him.
"Baxter! Where the heck are you!?" The coach was mad.
The quarterback hunched down in fear as he tried to slowly get away. Tried being the keyword as someone in the audience yelled.
"Right here, coach dudette! I'm like just hitting on some hot cheerleaders from the other team because they're better!"
"What!?" Tetslaff fumed at being called dudette and stormed over. Never mind that the voice didn't sound anything like the jock. Dash, now running for the hills, made a noted to get back at whoever ratted him out. It definitely had to be one of the Middleton Mad Dogs.
"Good riddance," Danny snarked.
The gang laughed as Jude came down from the bleachers, and the gang joined him.
"Dude."
"Jude."
Jude and Jonesy bumped fists in their signature style. Jude spoke first with his fist out as Jonesy greeted it as he spoke.
And with Dash out of the way, Jonesy was free to flirt with Kim. Or at least be shut down, either way, would work, but the latter was inevitable.
"Hey there, Kimmy," Jonesy started with his usual suave, cocky attitude.
Kim felt her spine crawl when she heard. Giving a shiver, she reluctantly turned to see a conceited face grinning at her.
"Oh, great you," Kim said with open disdain.
Despite the tension, Jonesy could help but act by habit. He leaned on the bleachers and tried acting as suave as possible, almost mimicking Fashion, except without her jerk part.
"Hey, Kimmy. Nice to see you again," Jonesy said, actually sounding smooth.
"And it's so not nice to see you."
"Come on, babyeeeeeeow!"
Jonesy had attempted to reach out to Kim, only to have his hand gripped tightly before being thrown over the shoulder. The boy found himself against the cold ground in a daze. He wasn't sure how hard Kim threw him, but he was pretty sure there was a Jonesy-sized dent in the dirt.
Kim dusted her hands as she gave a loud hmph. Her date with Jonesy was irrepressible on his end. The coky boy had thought himself lucky and pulled out all the moves during their time together. It left a big impression, and Kim gave a bigger one in the shape of her hand embedded on Jonesy's face for the next few days.
Jonesy stayed in the ground as Kim walked around him to see Danny. The boy was shocked as never had a girl thrown him like that. Or done anything of the sort. Nikki gave a smile at the action.
The ghost boy noted Jen's arm relocked around his and knew introductions were needed.
"So, are these your friends?" Kim asked, looking around.
"Yeah, these are my best friends Sam and Tucker, my girlfriend Jen, and her friends: Nikki, Jonesy, Wyatt, Jude." Danny didn't notice Kim's smile drop when he said girlfriend, but Jen did smiling a little a bit "and-"
Caitlin squealed.
"Caitlin," Danny finished.
Caitlin walked over to Kim. "Oh my gosh! Kim Possible! I am such a huge fan of you your style and how awesome you are!"
"No big," Kim said with an easy-going smile.
"Possible where are you!?" a voice yelled that to Danny kind of sounded like someone on television.
"Got to go," Kim said, winking at Danny. "Nice seeing you again, Danny," she said, walking back over to the other cheerleaders.
Jonesy watched with gaping jaw as Kim walked away.
"How is it this guy can score with such a hot chick?" Jonesy lamented, still laying on the cold ground as tears threatened to run down his face.
Nikki and Caitlin walked over as they lifted the boy up. They gave him a stern look, smacked him upside the head, and promptly dropped him back on the ground, in that order.
For the rest of the night, Jen never let go of Danny unless he needed to use the bathroom. A frequent occurrence as Spectra flew by to suck the misery out of the teenage student body of Casper High. The girl couldn't;t get a break as Danny Phantom took to the skies. Jude practically dragged everyone to watch, but Jen wanted to know what was taking Danny so long.
Sunday came, and Jude wanted another trip to Nasty Burger. After one meal, he was already a major fan and wanted a farewell gift of fries and maybe two burgers with extra cheese.
Everyone followed with a smile. While they weren't starving, they couldn't say no to Jude's pure, child-like request. Besides, it was one of the places to hang out, and they didn't want to go to the mall—especially if there was another ghost attack.
Things had been great all weekend. For once, Danny might have a good time. It was just him and his girlfriend with their friends, hanging together. It was great.
"HEY, FENTURD!" A loud voice was heard, shattering the peace like a hammer to glass.
Danny, Jen, and the others groaned when they saw Dash and his fellow jocks approach them. The lead jock had an angry look on his face. The kind that said: I'm giving you trouble of all kinds right now.
"Not him again," Jen said in dismay.
"What do you want, Dash?" Danny asked, not liking this.
"What do you think? We just lost the game, and that hot cheerleader said no, so that means I take it out on you!" Dash said in a mean way.
Jen glared at that. There was no way she wanted this jerk interfering with her day again. She stepped in between as she gave the jock a push, not that it did much.
"Why don't you back off for once and leave us alone?" Jen said in defense.
"Listen, Babe. I'll sweep you and maybe the other chick later. Right now, I need to give Fenturd his just for," Dash said rudely as he and the jocks slammed their fists.
On cue, the rest of the teens got in between. While they weren't fighters, or even jocks(Except for Jonesy), they weren't going to let this jock and his friends beat up theirs. When they've gotten to know the Amity trio, it was safe to say they were good friends.
However, before they could do anything, in walked Ron. Apparently, the mall cop was minding his own business and crossed paths with the teens.
"What's going on here?" Ron said in a stern voice, catching the jocks off guard.
Dash gave the man a once over, not taking him as a threat. Ron was in civilian clothes and therefore couldn't make the jock back off.
"Who are you?" Dash seethed.
"The name is Ron, and I eat maggots like you for breakfast," Ron said in an authoritative voice. Brining out a badge, he got up into the jocks' personal space, leaning in menacingly.
Dash, not wanting to make a fool of himself in front of his gang, shakily stood his ground. But Ron's intimidating glare sent shivers like he was in another ghost attack at school. He tried to speak, but it came out in a whisper. Not one of them read the badge to see it was from Canada, but maybe that was for the better.
"I-I'm not afr-r-raid of y-y-you."
"Is that so, maggot?" Ron said, knowing he had the punk right where he wanted him. He gave a cold smile, the kind that sent chills down teenagers.
Ron did not like troublemakers at the mall or anywhere. And though he wasn't in his jurisdiction, the man would not walk by and let troublemakers cause any harm, whether physical or mental.
"You listen to me, maggot!" Ron yelled as he got up in the boy's face. "Now, I may not have proper authority here, oh no! But that doesn't mean you can't be hauled away for assault by your local officers, where you'll be rotting in Juvie until you're old enough for jail! Do you hear me, scum!? One peep, and I'll let the cops at the corner know about your actions," He said in a low, normal voice. "Do you want that, punk?"
Though he couldn't be sure of Ron's words, Dash backed away slowly. He tried to give Danny and his friends a mean look, but Ron interjected by moving his face in his line of sight. The vacationing mall cop gave the quarterback an I'm-watching-you-punk hand gesture before walking away. The jock fell on the concrete hard as he watched the man walk. His friends picked him up before they all ran in the opposite direction.
Danny and his friends stared as they watched the rent-a-cop walk away, never bothering to talk or look at them. They stared in disbelief before finally speaking a few minutes later.
"Did...did Ron just like save us?" Jude asked.
"Wow, never thought I'd be happy to see Ron," Nikki snarked.
"Me neither...is it weird that I might not make fun of him when we get back?" Wyatt asked.
"Probably not," Jonesy said.
Nightfall came again, and tonight the teens relaxed at Fenton Works. After touring the town yesterday, the gang decided a day indoor would be a good call. Though Caitlin worried about the shops and sales going on. Sam had to assure her things were fine. Besides, they wanted a Dash-free day, and there was no way the jock would disturb them at Danny's house. Not unless he had a good reason to be here.
It was an all-day movie marathon as everyone debated and scrambled for what movies to watch. Well, except for Danny and Jen, who were sharing a kiss.
"You know, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you two were that couple at the mall that makes out all the time," Nikki snarked.
Jen ignored Nikki's snark in favor of making out with her boyfriend. Danny definitely wasn't complaining. Though he was thirsty, and reached out to grab a sip of his soda. Jen gave him a look as Danny eyed the beverage.
"You want some? It's cherry cola," Danny said. He tilted the straw to Jen. The girl gave a mirthful smirk before taking a sip.
Caitlin stifled her giggles as she watched. It was so adorable. She wanted nothing more than to take a picture. She reached down to pick up her phone but missed and grabbed someone else's. She held up the device as she swiped, but there was no lock screen.
"Hey, what's wrong with my phone?" Caitlin said as she tried to unlock the device.
"Catilin, that's not your phone," Jen said, holding up the pink smartphone that was Caitlin's.
"Then, who's it this?"
"Hey, that my PDA!" Tucker cried out.
"What's a PDA?"
"It's the device that predates the smartphone," Wyatt explained, sipping his coffee. Sam and Tucker glanced at the boy, wondering if it was such a good idea for him to be drinking that so late.
"Oh, right," Caitlin turned to Tucker. "Why don't you have a smartphone?"
"PDA's will make a comeback. Why does everyone think smartphones are the future!?"
"Ummm...because they're from the future?" Jude answered.
Tucker almost glared for a moment at the laid-back boy. If it was anyone else, the techno-geek wouldn't have laughed. But he snickered then giggled before going into a laughing fit. As did the others. Jude stood there with a blank face as he tried to get the joke.
While laughing, Caitlin looked for her phone. Reaching out, she unlocked the device as pointed towards Danny and Jen, who had still been entangled in each other's arms. She opened the camera app, about to take the shot.
"Can you please put that away?" Nikki asked, grabbing the personal device.
"But I wanted to take a picture of Danny and Jen," Cailtin whined.
"You can take pictures later. We'll still be together after the movie," Danny said.
"Awww," Jen cooed as she gave her boyfriend a peck on the check. While short and sweet, it still elicited a reaction from Nikki, who was a bit put off from the display of affection. They had been making out a few moments ago.
"Enough with the kissing and the picture taking. Let's get back to the movie," Jude begged. He held up two DVDs and shook them. "Now, what'll it be? Press Start or Whiplash?"
Nikki and Caitlin took the movies and put them away. The girls and guys had no idea about the movies, but they didn't like the summary written on the back. They must've been indie movies cause nobody had heard of them. Well, they heard of the latter.
"Jude, where did you get these movies?" Jonesy asked. He looked at the movie called Press Start. It was definitely indie and a video game movie from what the cover looked like. A cheap one.
"Hey, let me see that," Tucker said, grabbing the case. Jonesy was a little miffed at the move but couldn't care less. It was just a movie. Tucker scanned the barcode with his PDA. Lights came up as the modified hardware pulled up all the information.
"Huh, this actually is a good movie. It's indie and cheap, but people are saying it's good," Tucker said.
"Seriously?" Nikki snarked. The cover seemed very low budget, and she wasn't in the mood for that. She could rip on a movie like that another day. As could anyone else.
Though it turns out Wyat had some other opinions.
"I say we see Whiplash," Wyatt said, holding up the movie. "It's got a great story and everything. Sure it's a bit intense, but it won multiple awards."
"Enough with the indie flicks!" Jonesy commanded as he brought up another movie. Nikki and Caitlin sighed in relief. While Wyatt gave a good presentation, they didn't want something that might be intense right now. "I say we watch something like INSERT!"
"That's not a movie!" Jen retorted. "It's just some flick the scriptwriter was too lazy to give a name."
"Plus, I think I saw Whiplash in regular theaters, so it can't be an indie movie," Sam added. She presented her copy of Trinity of Doom." "I say, a chick flick."
While Nikki, Caitlin, and Jen were all for a chick flick, they and the guys stared at the cover of what looked more to be a horror film with three monsters/ serial killers in it. Jonesy took a look at the back before rallying his fellow dudes to pick the next movie.
As the teens scuffled for the remote and DVD for the next movie, the doorbell rang. One of the few not really concerned about what they would watch, Danny walked over to see who it was. He opened the door and was surprised and shocked to see Mayor Vlad Masters at the door. He glared with glowing green eyes at the man, who wore his faux facade and smile.
"Ah, Daniel, how are you?" Vlad said kindly as he walked through. "I hope all has been well. You look like you've seen a ghost."
Danny's eyes narrowed, something Wyatt noticed. In fact, Sam and Tucker tensed up too. It might be crazy, but it almost looked like they were getting ready for a fight to Wyatt. The boy never let his gaze off the visitor as he slowly closed the door.
"You're the mayor? What are you doing here?" Wyatt asked. He walked forward with a hand out, hoping to ease the unsuspected tension.
"The Fentons and I are old friends. I come here every now and then to check up on them. Isn't that right, Daniel?" Vlad said as he shook the boy's hand.
Danny glared at Vlad, who gave a cocky smile as he walked away. Though their eyes didn't meet, the mere presence of another set off a match. One that played at every chance. Danny tensed as Jen placed her hand on his shoulder. The girl stared in shock as she registered his face.
Jen thought in confusion at how the mayor seemed to play a short staring game with her boyfriend. Well, if you call two people looking at each other with one glaring and the other giving an arrogant glance, a staring contest. She wondered what that was all about and made a mental note to ask about it later.
"Danny, who was at the door?" Jack asked, walking up. He saw Vlad and immediately went up to hug his friend, only to miss.
"Vladdy!" the man cheered. "Good to see you! What brings you by this time?"
"Oh, you know ow. Just checking up on some old friends. Get away from politics, if only for a moment."
The men went to the kitchen to talk as Maddie came upstairs. The woman was suspicious of Vlad's visit but knew her husband wouldn't turn the man down. And they had been friends in college, so she could give the benefit of the doubt. At least till something hits the fans.
The teens went back to their movie debate but didn't notice the Amity Trio watching Vlad. Well, nobody except for Jen, who tried to cheer Danny up. She tried a peck on the lips, but this time felt a part of him wasn't there. It was almost like she kissed another person.
Vlad, having enough fun, decided it was time to leave. He turned to the visiting teens as Danny, Sam, and Tucker watched for any funny movements.
"I hope you all are enjoying your stay in this fine town," Vlad said. "Even with the ghost attacks. I hope none follow you home."
"Don't...just please don't say that," Nikki demanded as politely as possible.
"Well, I assume your stay has been pleasant?"
"Definitely! This place is so much better than I thought!" Caitlin said before she lowered her voice. "Though the mall could be better. Not to mention the new line of fall fashionwear hasn't fully hit the shelves yet. I am so going to send the manager a piece of my mind."
"Yeah, plus the Fenton's were cool enough to let us stick around for some fun and munchies," Jude said in a mellow tone. "Who would say no to free grindage?"
"Especially with a hot wife in, what I would call, skin-tight spandex. Seriously, I love it," Jonesy teased with a sultry growl. He gave a quick glance at Mrs. Fenton's signature blue jumpsuit.
Vlad fumed as he glared at the boy who was basically ogling the woman he loved.
"Don't you talk to her like that!" Vlad snapped. He glared at the boy with swords in his eyes before storming away. The teen backed up as the man left.
"What's his deal?" Jonesy asked.
"He doesn't let go of the past," Danny muttered.
No one heard the ghost boy but Jen. The girl wondered what was happening and didn't know how to approach it. It was probably for the best as everyone saw the time.
They had to get ready for tomorrow.
"Well, we better get ready for a six-hour flight back home. Our folks want us back for Thanksgiving feast," Jen said. She leaned down and gave Danny a peck on the lips. "I'll see you for our video date in a few days."
Danny smiled as he gave a goofy grin. Sam rolled her eyes as the teens chuckled and made faces, mainly Jonesy and Jude. But she noticed Nikki had turned around, ready to end the night of tomfoolery and fun. The punk girl waved goodbye, but Sam ran inside before coming out with something.
"Nikki, wait!" Sam said in a hurry.
"What is it?"
Sam walked up and handed her a box. A box with the name Fenton on it in their signature white and green color scheme.
"I know you still have some issues with ghosts, but this will help."
Nikki saw what looked to be a belt.
"It's...nice. What is it?"
"A Specter Deflector. You wear it, and ghosts can't touch you, but you can touch them."
The punk girl was surprised before she smiled in gratitude. But why?
"Why are you being nice?" Nikki asked, a little bit skeptical. "I won't help you get with Danny."
"I know you won't," Sam said, shaking her head
"So why?" Nikki asked, still confused.
"You aren't the only one who got kidnapped by a ghost," Sam answered sincerely. She then muttered quietly. "at least you weren't almost married against your will."
Nikki looked down at the Spector deflector, knowing Sam was sincere.
"Thanks, Sam," Nikki said, hugging the goth.
"Human contact...crushing...goth... indifference..." Sam said, struggling to maintain her gloomy outlook.
But soon, the goth didn't care. She helped her friend, and that seemed to matter more at the moment. Sam didn't know why, but for now, she returned the hug as Jonesy and the gang gave snarky remarks, mentally happy their friend was getting better.
The two hugging girls would be sure to return the favor some other day.
Happy early Thanksgiving...in Canada, eh! I did some research and found out Canadian Thanksgiving is in October, before Halloween. So, I figured the gang could meet Danny again earlier than expected. Either way, next chapter, it's the Halloween event. Pardon the late posting. This chapter was bigger than I intended as I kept having ideas to add. For now, I hope you enjoyed this and have a great day.
Special Thanks! to Flower Princess11 for all her help!
Special Thanks! to 61394 for all his help!
Special Thanks! to NeoMark for letting me use lines from Danny and Kim!
Reviews:
qazse: Jude's smarter than most give him credit for.
Jebest4781: Other Canadian cartoons are being worked in. I try to keep them simple as there are many crossover elements already. Don't want too many cooks on this broth.
danifan3000: Taking in Total Dramarama, I doubt Jude would give it much thought about someone from daycare. The guy lives more in the present, not the past. Hmmm...Well, he has someone.
Invader Johnny: She did this story a great service.
11) No decir.
RonaldM40196867: Since he's the founder, the store is more of his domain.
DJ Rodriguez: Thanks!
61394: Jen won't be turned into a meta. Vlad has something else in mind.
SonicMax: Thanks!
pokemon fan 1991: Since Danny made an impression on Gwen(TDI) she was the one in her diary, which Heather read out loud. I won't give any lines, but that's how it is. Not to mention a few confessionals. As for getting out, Frostbite helped them.
Dreams Come True 996: Thanks! No worries about being late.
Jay The Average Fanboy: 1) That's different, to say the least. Jen and Jonesy's parents are still dating and won't be married for a while. So Jen's reason won't be prominent for a while. 2) Hard to say, since the gang is more focused on being teenagers with ghostly activities being more of an uncommon occurrence. Sure it was strong in the summer, but now they are back in Canada. You'll see as the story goes on. 3) Toronto. But, Ron mentioned that already.
Khy Dragon(Guest): Thanks!
Zoomedin: Thanks! I wanted someone to call Danny, but I like how the chapter played out. Danny will meet Coach Halder in later chapters.
Guest: Later. Mother first, then sister.
