Disclaimer: I don't own Danny Phantom or 6Teen. I do not own the original story this is based on.
"Hello, sir?...It's me...yes, the ghost boy has left Amity Park. Enroute to Toronto. Proceeding with protocol..."
Danny got off the plane, and he looked around. The airports of Canada seemed similar, though different brands of food chains and stores were around. Along with local shops and paraphernalia emphasizing the country's beauty.
Sam and Tucker walked off after him, taking in the sights as well. They had joined Danny for this occasion, sacrificing much of their Thanksgiving break for this trip. Not so much for the former, who was glad to get away from her parents. Her grandmother came shortly, agreeing to watch over the kids during their visit.
While Canada had its Thanksgiving in October, that didn't mean Danny couldn't fly over on his own, Though he had to convince his parents for the plane tickets. A month of extra studying without breaking curfew once. It was difficult, particularly with maintaining curfew mixed with ghost fighting, but he managed.
By a hair.
The ghost boy and his friends went down to baggage claim, ready to meet their friends. Sam took her time strolling her grandmother. The two were happy to spend time together.
Jen was on a roll today at the Penalty Box. She was managing sales and taking inventory. The girl made sure not to cause any problems. While Coach Halder was tough but fair, that didn't mean he couldn't be annoying. Particularly if love was involved.
"Masterson!" Halder yelled.
"What!?" Jen flinched.
"I saw that look. You know the rules, no mention of love. Now, Drop and give me 50!" The coach ordered.
Jen grumbled and did just that, but not before she mentioned he said love and had him on the ground. But what was a ten-minute workout for the girl was a brisk jog for the former football player. He was done and gone in a flash. Only after she was done did she go back to working and think about her man.
Danny. That had become a name that made her heart skip a beat and made her mind's gears turn.
During and after the Fright Knight incident, Jen noticed some peculiar details. While she was grateful for Danny Phantom to appear, his attention seemed focused on her for a moment. This was odd as she never considered herself close to the ghost boy, not even to reach an acquaintance level. Jen thought about that night again.
He called out my name. And during the party, he looked at me. He didn't know I saw, but the way he stared at me. It was...almost familiar. And why did it feel nice?
The red-haired girl was so deep in thought that she didn't notice someone calling her name.
"Jen? Jen? Hellooo, earth to Jen!"
Jen snapped out of her thoughts to see her friends staring at her. Caitlin had been waving a magazine, talking about another hot fashion trend. The girl blinked as she realized that she was finished with work and had gone to the Lemon to hang out with her friends, with the blonde girl stacking her workstation with magazines.
"Are you alright?"
"Oh, I'm fine," Jen said, blushing.
Her friends noticed this behavior, and as always, Jonesy couldn't keep his mouth shut.
"Are you thinking back to Halloween?" Jonesy asked with a smirk. "I kept telling you to check that rip in your costume, and what happened? People saw your underwear." The boy leaned back in his chair. Having enough of the boy after one line, Nikki pulled his chair, making him hit the floor.
"Hey! Do you even know how dirty this is?!" Jonesy yelled. But his friends laughed.
Jen blushed as she recalled the rip in her witch costume. She didn't know how, but her costume had a rip that grew through the night. She hadn't noticed until Nikki pointed out the side of her underwear sticking out as she was dancing. Which would explain the wolf whistles.
Maybe that's why Danny Phantom stared.
No. that wasn't the case. She could tell from the way he stared. Besides, he was long gone when someone pointed it out.
It was embarrassing, though, when she talked to Danny Fenton on video, he admits to wishing he had seen that. Boys...sometimes hormones flowed too strongly in them. She never gave him details, though.
"It's not that!" Jen retorted. "I just was thinking about—"
"How Danny Phantom stared at you and called out your name. We know," Wyatt droned. He downed his cup of coffee. He had heard this little fact too many times to tolerate with a sip. He threw the cup away as he went for his extra.
"You've been saying that a few time now," Catilin said offhand. She focused more on her lemons, working hard for a Christmas bonus and the potential shopping spree. "I mean, the guy was hot, but not that hot."
Jen felt embarrassed, not realizing she had been repetitive in her words. But part of her couldn't help it. After all, how many teens could say they saw a superhero, granted Danny Phantom isn't as famous as the more prominent figures, stare at them?
"I thought you liked that other Danny, dudette..."Jude said, munching on some fires. The blonde boy was as laid-back as ever with his relaxed smile. "I mean, they both have the same name and stuff, but they're like two different people."
"I do!" Jen defended, leaning forward in her chair. "But I can't help wondering why Phantom looked at me."
"Look, maybe there was something on your face. If anything, maybe it was your costume. I mean, you were a witch. Maybe he has a nice cute witch girlfriend back home," Wyatt explained, wanting the conversation to end. And he was not the only one, as the others nodded in agreement, silently ending the topic. Too bad Jen was not done.
"But he—"
"Hey, Jen," Danny said from behind the girl, surprising her.
Jen forgot her troubles and concerns when she saw her boyfriend, whom she hadn't seen in weeks. Danny Phantom could wait for Danny Fenton was more important, especially as she hugged the boy. Sam and Tucker shortly followed, with the former's grandmother coming along in her electric chair.
"What up, young people?!" Grandmother Manson cried out.
Despite the oddity of seeing someone's grandmother come along, the teens said their hellos, though some were more vocal about their thoughts.
"Can someone tell me why there's a grandma with you?" Nikki asked.
"My parent's rule," Sam droned. "We couldn't come without parental supervision and she volunteered. Which is a good thing as my parents are real stiffs."
Grandma Manson drove up to the Lemon, glancing at the menu for a nice drink after a dry flight.
"Don't mind me. I'll just be having a small drink then leaving you kids alone," the grandmother said, turning to Sam. "I know how important it is for you to have some space, bubbala." She took her hand and gently pulled her granddaughters to kiss her on the cheek. "So, go have fun, but try not to burn the place down. Trust me, it's not as fun when all the chaos you cause brings some destruction." The elderly woman said that last part with a wicked grin before riding off with a waving hand.
"I like your grandma. She seems pretty chill," Jude said, snapping a couple finger guns.
"Thanks. She's the only one I could bring along. Mainly because my folks are..."
"Embarring beyond reason?" Nikki finished.
"...you could say that..."
Nikki brought an arm around the goth girl. She gave a knowing smile, glancing at the gloomy teen. "Ain't that a truth." She snarked, secretly recalling how her folks are the same.
"So, the mall..." Tucker looked around in amazement at the stories full of shops and stands. It made the one in Amity Park look like a small pimple on the face of the Earth. The boy wondered how many tech shops he could find before being snapped out of his trance by Wyatt, literally. "Sorry, but this place is HUGE! How do you find anything here!?" The boy held his arms out, gesturing to everything.
The native teens looked around nonchalantly before shrugging, all of them saying how they had no clue. It was probably just natural to them. Tucker groaned, slouching over as he took a seat. Jude patted him on the pat and passed a can of soda.
"Thanks," Tucker said as Sam took a seat by Nikki with Danny and Jen on the other end. "So...anything fun happen besides Halloween?"
"Oh, you should've been here. There was a ghost and Danny Phantom came and saved us!" Caitlin exclaimed. She got out her phone, showing all the pictures onlookers posted online. "It was the craziest thing! I thought he protected your town."
Sam and Tucker looked at the photos before stealthily glancing at Danny. The latter had gotten the news from Caitlin over a video chat and knew the full details from both hers and the ghost boy's side of the story. But the technogeek remained silent as the trio pretended to be intrigued by the news.
And the photos kept coming as soon the ghost fight was replaced by the aftermath of the party. Turns out having a real threat averted made everyone party harder, much to the fear of Ron, who could be seen in the pictures attempting to reign in the chaos in vain. Eventually, it started showing Caitlin in her costumes, with different boys in each photo as she took selfies,
"Wow, I gotta say, you look hot, Catilin," Tucker said, although he had seen it in the video chat. Still, he was amazed at the costume and the fact a girl actually dressed like that in public. Then again, teens did have different traditions for Halloween. However, Tucker was never popular enough, or in general, to be invited to such occasions.
"Thanks," Caitlin blushed with a giggle.
"I wonder how many boys recognize you out of costume," Sam snarked, having a good clue where all eyes were. "Though I bet they'd recognize you more with the lemon hat."
Nikki smirked beside the goth as Caitlin groaned. She was happy to have another girl like her around. Her friends were amazing, but she needed a like-minded individual. Even if Sam was still working out kinks in her personality.
"So, care to make up for lost time?" Danny asked. Jen smiled, leaning onto the boy as Jude got up with a fist pump.
"Yeah, let's have some fun!" The blonde boy cried out. He flipped his board to the ground before jumping up, landing on his wheels without accident.
"Hold it!" Came a voice.
Unfortunately, that's when mall security spotted them and, as always, got suspicious. Ron had always kept a close eye on the teens, especially the boys. And when he saw on camera three more had joined their tanks, he had to give a personal inspection.
"Alright, maggots! Form up!" Ron ordered. He walked sternly and with authority.
Danny was surprised. Tucker was silent while Sam narrowed her eyes. The goth was sensing a rising need to be rebellious.
"Uh, excuse me, officer," Sam snarked coldly, already disliking mall security. She could remember when he came to Fenton Works, hoping this encounter wouldn't be as strict. But the man's voice gave off more authority than her parents could ever speak with.
"Don't play gmes with me, punk." Ron leaned in, staring Sam in the eyes and then looking at each of the teens. "While you may have more lax security back in America, I run this mall tighter than spandex on the bodies of your heroes-"
"I don't know how to even respond to that," Tucker interjected, somehow grossed out by the comment.
"-and that means I've got my eye on you maggots."
The officer stared at the teens, leaving the Amity trio unnerved by the severe nature of the man. Mall cops were never seen like this back home, although that may be because of media. Now the teens knew why Dash and his cohorts walked away when they first saw him.
"Is something the matter, officer?"
Everyone turned to see Sam's grandmother, Ida Manson, coming by in her motor scooter. The elderly woman had returned, making her way over to the table as the teens watched.
"Nothing. I was just making sure these punks know who to deal with when they get into trouble," Officer Ron replied. His tone never changed.
"Oh, you mean like those hooligans bothering the elderly by that nice shop?" Ida pointed at a random floor. "There's one in red and black switching all the tags."
"What?! In my mall!? Those maggots will pay," Ron said before giving the teens an I'll be watching you gesture as he left. The teens sighed as the rent-a-cop left.
"You kids alright?" Ida asked.
"We're fine, grandma. Thanks," Sam replied, hugging her grandmother.
The elderly Manson patted her granddaughter's cheek before strolling off. She talked about this store in the mall where one could free fall against a fan, saying she had reservations for a few hours. Turned out she always wanted to skydive.
"Ok, I really dig your grandma," Jude said with a smile. He got up and jumped onto his skateboard, kicking himself away. The dude beckoned everyone to follow as Caitlin closed the lemon. "Come on, we got lots ta do."
"What do ya mean? We got here?" Sam asked before Nikki and Caitlin pulled her up.
"And we got so much to show you!" Caitlin squeed as Jonesy, and the boys got up.
"Did you really think we'd just sit at the Lemon without showing around our hang out?" Wyatt said, grabbing his cup of coffee.
"Come on!" Jen said, pulling Danny along. The ghost boy smiled, as did his friends.
Tucker had been jubilant, getting to know a group of older teens. Not only were the Canadians fun, but a pet of him felt more complete, not that he told anyone. Not even Sam, the surlier of the trio, could deny the opportunity for fun with the group.
Even if she was still dealing with Danny and Jen dating while sorting out her own feelings.
The Galleria Mall was like a labyrinth, holding so many stores l, confusing the Amity Park teens like they were in a maze. There were many ways to start and endless ways to end the tour, but the trio just followed their native friends to their stomping grounds.
But they had a most unexpected starting stop when they passed the Stereo Shack. A boy in Star Wars gear with a black helmet and cape was talking to some customers at the entrance.
"Wow," Sam snorted, unable to suppress her desire to laugh. "I guess they'll hire anyone."
Nikki joined and patted her friend on the back as Jonesy joined in. Tucker might have joined if he didn't glare at the nerd with conviction.
"Wait a second?" Tucker got up as he eyed the avid Star Wars geek. He looked over his appearance before bringing up something on his PDA. "ForceMaster!?" That got the nerd's attention.
"Uh...do you know Darth?" Jen asked. She got no response as the techno-geek stormed over as his friends watched.
"ForceMaster!" Tucker cried out.
"Who dares summons my forum name in these halls?" Darth Mall cried out.
Tucker brought out his PDA, which held an online forum, with a surly face. It was one of the few times Danny and Sam ever saw such features on him, and frankly, they were concerned.
"Why do you...oh I see," Darth stared back with a grin, touching the tips of his fingers together. "You must be TechboyTuck. I can vividly remember our conversations in the forums."
"And I'm here to disprove your theory about Star Wars being the ultimate experience! Space Warscan be even better!"
"Did Space Wars become a global phenomenon? I don't think so. Star Wars is clearly the better of the two with the younger knockoff holding popularity in America."
"You dare believe that just because something is more popular it makes it better?!" Tucker got into a stance, glaring at the nerd.
"Oh, you wanna fight!?" Darth brought out his lightsaber. "Bring it on!"
The two drew a crowd as they circled each other slowly. Each was pressuring the other to attack first with a glare, not wanting to let the other have an advantage in battle. It was like a final battle in the movies. And it wasn't long before they ran at each other, yelling like wild animals.
"This isn't gonna be pretty, isn't it?" Danny commented.
Boy, was he wrong.
The teens blinked at the geeky boys engaged in a stereotypical nerd fight. They didn't know whether to stop or film them, with Sam doing the latter. It would be funny to most if it didn't seem impractical. Even Ron came by and saw this, giving a face that said I don't have time for this. He quickly drove away in his patrol vehicle.
Looking at the time, Jen gave a smile as she grabbed Danny and pulled him away from the others.
"What are you doing?" Danny asked.
"Come on, I got us some ticket for this movie," Jen said, pulling Danny after her. "You'll love this."
"But I just got here," Danny quipped, but it fell on deaf ears as the couple went to the movie theater on another floor. The gang saw them go, with Sam giving this cringe look, but went back to watching Tucker as she felt the stares of Nikki and Caitlin on her.
"What?" Sam asked, receding no answers from the girls.
The boys' laughter brought the girls' attention back to Tucker and Darth Mall, who seemed exhausted, despite only fighting with distanced slaps. The two stood near each other, slumping forward as they panted for air. What was a fight was now a bet to see who would collapse first.
"You—gasp—can't win. Space Wars is a perfect—gasp—innovaton to the Star Wars franchise..." Tucker panted.
"More—gasp—like a perfect—gasp—rip-off...gasp-just to make-gasp-a cheap buck..." Darth retorted, but his words fell as he did. The nerd slammed in exhaustion as Tucker raised his arms in victory.
"Boo-gasp-yah!" Tucker cried out.
"You win this round-gasp-but prepare for the empire to strike back." Darth conceded defeat as he slowly got up and went back to work.
"Dude!" Jonesy laughed, slapping the winner on the back. He could barely contain his laughter as he held himself together. "That was awesome!"
"Really? How?" Tucker asked.
"Well, I can't say nerds don't fight, but that was fun to watch," Wyatt said, helping the boy up.
"Congrats, Tucker," Caitlin said.
Sam walked over to Tucker's other side and lifted him up, smiling at her friend with mischief and joy.
"I gotta say, you can hold your own," Sam said. She leaned in and then whispered in the boy's ear. "But why are you so tired? We fight ghosts with danny all the time."
Tucker lifted a hand to answer, but his stomach did that for him. It rumbled loudly, almost acting like a victory horn, except it was funnier, making anyone left laughing before they left. Despite the silly moment, the boy felt pride as he wobbled over to his friends with a triumphant smile.
"Dude! That was awesome!" Jonesy laughed. "I gotta say, I never thought nerd fights could be that fun to watch."
"You gave it your all and came out on top, dude." Jude held a hand out. "Gimme five."
Tucker slowly reached out, clapping his hand with the blonde boy as Wyatt patted him on the back. The girl rolled their eyes but smiled for the boy. The technogeek's smile dropped as he noticed they were short two teens. He glanced around for a moment.
"Where's Danny and Jen?" Tucker asked.
"They decided to have some alone time to suck face," Nikki snarked.
Sam cringed, probably from the terminology, but no one noticed.
"Well, now that the lovebirds left—" Jonesy got up and stretched. "—what say we continue showing our friends a good time, starting with the arcade?"
"I'm in!" Tucker exclaimed with joy.
Sam chuckled with a snarky eye roll. She started walking but was grabbed by Caitlyn and Nikki.
"Sounds good, but I think we'll start somewhere else, like Albertrosse and Finch," Caitlin said, clasping her hands together in joy. "They have the cutest boys."
"How about something fun?" Nikki snarked with a smirk.
"How is staring at hot shirtless guys not fun?" The blonde girl gave a face of absolute confusion.
"You guys can go there if you want. I'll take Jonesy up on that trip to the arcade," Tucker said, pointing to Jonesy with his thumb.
The girls shrugged, thinking it best to let the boys have their time. The day was still young, and the mall wouldn't close for hours. Sam turned and stopped, looking at the Canadian teens as she realized something.
"Wait, don't you guys have jobs?" Sam asked.
"Jonesy's fired again, and Jude works at Stick It, and there's no lunch rush," Wyatt said. He pointed to another floor, specifically at a music store called Spin This. "And right now, things are chill at Spin This, so I can take some time off.
"Not to mention I need time away from the Clones," Nikki added.
"And I still have my job," Jonesy added offendedly. "I'm on break right now."
The gang parted as the girls left for something a bit more cognitively active.
Danny and Jen were having a great time. The day was partially young, and their friends were having a great time hanging out. Nothing could go wrong.
"Beware!" Came a cry.
Danny's eyes bulged out as he recognized that annoying and grating battle cry. It could only belong to one ghost, who, for some reason, was in Canada right now. Whatever it was, the ghost boy was already thinking of how he would be shoving that pest into the Fenton Thermos.
"Great...the Box Ghost is here," Danny muttered in frustration. "What does he want?"
"Did you say something?" Jen asked.
"Oh...uh...nothing..."Danny lied. "I...uh...gotta go to the bathroom. I'll be back."
He soon left to deal with that pest, mentally cursing about what he'd do.
Jen furrowed her brows as her boyfriend left. This was just like Amity Park. The girl wondered what was so important that the boy up and left in such a hurry.
"Where is he running off to all the time?..."Jen thought, partially wondering if there was something she didn't get.
Before she could ponder it, they all heard some commotion nearby. It sounded like someone was pulling a prank, so the girl ignored it while waiting for Danny to come back. She took a handful of popcorn as she chowed down, actually watching the movie.
"BEWARE!" Was shouted as people ran from the theater.
The screams of the mall-goers echoed throughout the mall, bringing our main cast back together as they raced over.
"Great, just what we need another ghost attack," Nikki groaned.
"Don't worry," Caitlin said with a pat on the back. "It just might be that new horror movie out: Noctural Grave Camp Part Three."
"Eh...Part One is the best," Sam snarked.
The pack of frightened teens and shoppers passed the gang of Tucker, Sam, Cailtin, Wyatt, Jonesy, Nikki, and Jude, who braced themselves for the trample. Luckily, they came out unharmed as they looked for the source of fear. Nikki was cautious as she took slow steps, much to the concern of Sam and Caitlin, but that stopped when she got to the theater.
"What's going on?" Wyatt asked.
"Don't know. But I bet it has something to do with that weird-looking guy flying around," Jonesy said, pointing at the ghost scaring everyone.
They walked and soon saw some floating blue ghost by the concessions stand, making a spectacle of himself.
"I AM THE BOX GHOST! HERE TO CLAIM MY RIGHTFUL PLACE AMONG THIS LAND!" The Box Ghost said.
"Isn't that the annoying ghost from Amity Park?" Jude asked, pointing with no fear.
"Yeah. What gives? Popped all the bubble wrap?" Nikki snarked, cupping her hands to project her voice. Even with all her trauma, the Box Ghost was no threat to her.
That got the Box's Ghost's attention. He growled or tried to, as he flew down and stared the girl in the eye. But after dealing with so many ghosts and the fact she was wearing the Spector Deflector, the punk girl didn't move and glared back.
"Not so fast!" Ron the rent-a-cop said. He pulled out an ecto-blaster and aimed. "You are violating code P subsections 13-49 of mall security. I'm taking you in, maggot."
"Oh what? Ghosts can't be in the mall?" Box Ghost barked.
"No, but there's a law against disturbing the peace!"
Ron then sent a blast and hit the ghost, sending him into the wall. The man twirled the gun around like in old western films before reholstering it, but did not expect the ghost to get back up.
"You think that puny non-square blaster can st—"
Another blast pushed the ghost back, making him angrier. Not that anyone cared, including Sam and Tucker, who saw no threat in the guy. The Amity duo were surprised to see competent law enforcement in the mall, even if the cop seemed uptight.
One more blast, and the Box Ghost fled the scene. Ron dispersed the crowd as the teens went back to touring the mall.
Danny had been floating nearby and saw the whole thing. To say he was happy was an understatement as he smiled and flew back into the theater.
"Oh man! A vacation from work too!? This is awesome!" Danny cried out in joy. He transformed back and raced to Jen, munching on popcorn with a blank face.
"Stale popcorn?" Danny asked with a smile.
"What are you so happy—?" Jen didn't get to finish that sentence as Danny gave her a kiss on the lips. The girl promptly forgot everything as the two went back to their make-out session.
The ghost boy was confident he was needed right now and was happy just being a teenager.
While the lovebirds enjoyed themselves, Sam and Tucker were having fun with the others as the techno-geek fully recovered from his victory. The boy proudly slurped on a slushie as the guys laughed with him. It was a treat well earned and well given as he gulped it down.
"Dude, chill. Let the icy coolness of slushee heal you." Jude spoke with a calm, zen voice. "It is made to be savored, not slurped."
"Not to mention if you drink too fast, you'll get brain freeze," Jonesy added.
But it was too late as Tucker took a gulp too big and soon cringed at the pain in his brain. His face contorted into a hilarious picture as the teens laughed at him. Caitlin, Jonesy, and Jude thought it too funny and took photos of the boy's face with their phones.
Wyatt sipped on his hot coffee. The boy placed a hand on Tucker's back before saying, "Next time you win a nerd fight, we'll get you some coffee. You can choose hot or iced."
The group laughed as they walked on one of the many levels of the mall. Sam glanced over the balcony, still in disbelief at how big this place was, and saw how the mall-goers on the ground looked like ants. The girl glanced at Tucker, who was having the time of his life with all the electronic stores. The Amity duo were so excited and having too fun much fun with the 6teens. They didn't see how they bumped into three girls.
One glance from the Canadian teens and their happy faces dropped.
"Watch where you're-Oh great, the lemon head got some new loser friends," the brunette girl at the front said with a valley girl voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Trisha," Caitlin said lowly. The word sounded like an insult.
Sam and Tucker knew they would not like this girl through that one exchange.
"I'm guessing this is one of those mean popular Canadian girls like the ones back home," Tucker whispered to Sam.
The goth girl nodded in agreement as she was already staring angrily at this Canadian Paulina. Now she had to decide if this one was better or worse, to an extent.
The blonde girls at Trisha's side helped her up. They grabbed the bags as their leader stared with a mix of teenage angst, indifference, ego, and frustration.
"So what is this? You loser decided to have a membership drive?" Trisha's mocking voice irritated the group as her posse laughed. The girl's eyes darted around as she noticed a key detail. "But what's this? It seems one of you had the brains to leave the group. Guess you just felt that pathetic."
"Back off, Trisha!" Catlin stood in front of the group, butting heads with the girl. "These are our friends! Now leave them alone!"
"Yeah! They're just visiting from Amity Park!" Nikki added, marching to the front.
"Amity Park?" Trisha's eyes went wide as she backed up. "That place?!" The girl kneeled over, holding her mouth as her face turned several shades of green, recalling a date she had there, not knowing she was in the same town as the 6teens. The girl shallower her throat as she held up a hand.
"Trisha? Are you—"
"Keep those losers away from me! The last thing I want is anything to remind me of that disgusting quarterback!" Trisha said, slapping Caitlin's arm away. She started running towards the nearest restroom, not wanting to vomit in public.
As the girl ran away with her posse in tow, Sam couldn't help feeling insulted. The girl started to storm ver, tending to chase and/or inflict harm of any kind she saw fit.
"Excuse me!? What is that supposed to mean?!" Sam's tone was venomous.
"Hold up!" Nikki grabbed the goth girl, pulling her back with the help of Caitlin as Wyatt stood in front of her.
"Look, I understand Trisha is horrible, and that's an understatement, but we can't just punch her," Wyatt explained.
"We'll save that for later," Caitlin remarked, calming down Sam.
"Who was that?" Tucker asked, pointing at the girls.
"That was Trisha...my former best friend." Caitlin's voice drooped with shame, like her posture. The girl took a seat as Jonesy, Jude, Nikki, and Wyatt sat beside her. Sam and Tucker came shortly after. "To make a long story short, we were BFF's for a year before daddy cut me off and I got a job. After that, she just gets at me because she knows she can."
"That's harsh...with a friend like that, who needs enemies?" Tucker pointed behind him.
"Tell me about it. That girl just might make Paulina look nice." Sam nodded with a tone holding genuine surprise as she glanced in the direction Trisha and her posse left in.
"Paulina...Paulina...you mean that hot chick back in Amity Park I tried to hit on?" Jonesy recalled the party before they left, trying to put the moves on the girl. It would have been hilarious to see as the gang wore smile smiles, staring at the boy. "I think she's more of a Danny Phantom groupie."
That earned some tiny giggles as the group was greeted by the lovebirds, Danny and Jen, who finished their movie. Or gathering ignoring the flick in exchange for making out.
"Is...everything alright?" Jen asked, walking away from Danny as she took a seat beside Caitlin.
"We just met, Trisha," Tucker explained.
"OH my gosh!" Jen's face scrunched in anger. "I totally forgot about that...girl! What happened this time?!"
"Just the normal routine meetup. Nothing happened yet." Jude's voice was his usual calm tone, but he looked up slightly tense. But you know how that chick is."
Danny, Sam, and Tucker looked worried as the ghost boy sat down. A mean girl didn't seem like trouble out of everything happening this weekend. In fact, this seemed trivial because of their life-threatening events with the supernatural. But the social challenges of teenagedom were still in effect. So, they had to ask.
"Is Trisha really that bad?" Sam asked. "I mean, girls can be mean but-"
"That chick takes things too far!" Jonesy retorted. The Amity trio looked in shock and saw the boy's angry face. "What? I'm serious. That chick punches you in the gut for looking at her wrong." now, the kids looked more shocked.
"Don't worry, she hasn't done that, but that's kinda how she acts." Nikki was nonchalant, now quickly getting over their little meet-up with Trisha. She got up and clapped her hands as she turned towards the gang. "Anyway, let's have som fun. Sam and the guys are only gonna be here for a while."
"Wish I could say the same for that ghost," Wyatt commented.
"You guys saw another ghost!?" Jen asked in shock.
"Yeah, but it was that weird box guy from Maity. Remember? The one Danny Phantom shoved into a thermos one time?" Nikki smiled as she recalled the screams coming from the Box Ghost that day. She had never laughed so hard in her life.
"Oh yeah." Jen giggled, feeding a thought. "How weird would it be if Danny Phantom appeared right now to stop him?"
"Yeah! Wouldn't it be like weird if Danny Phantom started appearing the same time as our dudes and bra?" Jude asked, who started laughing. "That'd be hilarious. Like Danny was Phantom."
"Yeah—ha ha!—it'd be like the two were the same!" Jonesy added, not knowing how right he was.
Danny mentally cringed with his friends. What Jude said made perfect sense. So now, he had to fight ghosts while not appearing as Phantom. Out of all the luck in the world, his had to be this picky.
But with Ron around, things might go smoothly for once. The ghost boy tested such luck when minutes later, his ghost sense went off, unnoticed by the others. At first, he ignored it, till he saw Officer Ron scolding teenagers. This meant he was unaware of the scenario, which could go worse if the ghost was left unattended.
Once again, the boy slipped away, albeit noticed, and went to the restroom to transform. He found a lone bathroom that no one occupied, ever. While the place was too disgustingly dirty to use, it was perfect for transforming and searching for the ghost invisibly.
After a few minutes of searching, he found his pest.
"Oh great...you," Danny said, looked tired, but not as much as the Box Ghost, who seemed a little manic. "Honestly, I forgot about you."
"Bewar-aaaaah!"
Grabbing the Box Ghost from below, Danny dragged his pest into the mall's subsystems underneath. Pipes and machines littered the rooms with the maintenance team on lunch break. The ghost boy threw the ghost down before grabbing him by the collar.
"I'm only going to ask this once. What the heck are you doing here!?" Danny yelled.
"I am the Box Ghost! And I'm furious to see the lack of squareness in Canada!" the ghost bellowed.
"What are you talking about?!"
"After studying Canada through the series that takes place in South Park, Colorado, I have come to learn that Canada is the country of boxness and squares! So I have come to conquer it! Mwahahaha!"
Danny blinked, unable to believe the amount of ridiculousness he had just heard. Heck, the entire mall-goers could have heard it, and they couldn't believe what the ghost said. In his state of stupifiedness, the ghost boy released the pesky ghost, trying to wrap his head around the fact his most annoying enemy just binge-watched an entire series and came to Canada on a whim.
"Ha! Ha! I am the Box Ghost! You can't confine me with your barely square hands!" Box ghost yelled. "And now, I shall exact my revenge on you, Phantom, and claim my square kingdom!" The ghost continued to bellow, only to be hit with an ectoblast by Danny. The ghost boy was peeved as he glared at the annoying, box-obsessed ghost.
"Let's just get this over with, I got plans. And they were good till you showed up," Danny said as he went to go stop the annoying ghost.
Normally this would have been a one-sided fight between the two, but the Box Ghost seemed more into changing Canada than fighting Danny. A quick ice blast froze the ghost in place as the ghost boy got out the Fenton thermos, ready to contain his pest. But before he could activate the device, his phone went off, alerting him to a text from Jen.
"Oh hey. Sorry I left. I just needed to process what happened. The guys want to hang out at this cool place in the mall?" Danny looked to the encased Box Ghost, futilely trying to break out of his icy prison. The ghost boy thought about capturing him but waved it off. "Eh...you'll be here when I'm done. See ya."
Danny phased through the floor, ignoring the protests of the Box ghost, who swore square vengeance on the boy. It was ignored, mainly because it sounded too lame to care or worry about. Plus, the ghost was never a threat, to begin with. He found a nearby restroom, using an empty booth to transform back. He raced around, avoiding any trouble with Ron the Rent-a-Cop, meeting Jen and the others in front of Stick It, where Jude was currently sitting at the counter, looking very relaxed.
"So, you just chill here all day and serve food on a stick?" Tucker said, eating some chicken on a stick.
"That's right, dude." Jude didn't move an inch as he responded.
Tucker stared in awe as he looked at his food, Jude, and the food stand. Jonesy came up with Wyatt, patting the boy on the back.
"Yeah, I know. It's awesome," Jude said, somehow feeling the boy's emotions.
Danny just came, greeted by Jen with a hug and kiss as the other waved hello. Jude held a hand up, high-fiving the ghost boy.
"What up, dude?" Jude asked.
"Danny! Jude works here! Is his own boss! And get to eat all the meat he wants! On a stick!" To say Tucker was ecstatic was an understatement as the boy shoved his food into Danny's face. It was as if he had almost found paradise. Almost. All the place needed was the top-of-the-line tech, and it would be.
Danny smiled for his friend as Jen came behind him, grabbing his shoulders. The lovebirds stared at Tucker, who ordered Jude's newest invention: noodles on a stick. The gang laughed as they made plans, except for one person.
"You alright, Sam?" Nikki saw how the goth girl looked gloomier than usual. This got the attention of the others.
"W-what? Oh yeah! Just a little overwhelmed I guess," Sam remarked, looking away from the gang. It didn't fool the girls, who eyed her in curiosity.
"If you need to detox, I recommend shopping therapy. It can be very relaxing." Caitlin brought out several magazines showing the latest trends. The girl giggled as she opened one to show a lovely dress. "Especially when you want something cute."
"Caitlin, I think Sam needs something other than a shopping spree." Jen grabbed the magazines and put them away. She glanced at Sam, unaware of her effect on the goth. "Sam, is there nothing you want to do or say?"
"Not really." Sam looked away. "But if Caitlin wants to go shopping, we could start at the Albatross and Finch place she talked about. The one with the greeter gods?"
"The hot, shirtless greeter gods," Caitlin cooed.
"As hot as this stud? No way," Jonesy remarked, pointing to himself as the guys laughed.
"Nice try, Jonesy, but I don't know if girls are ready for ya?" Tucker snarked, making everyone laugh.
"Oh, and you think you're hot stuff?"
"As a matter of fact, yes!" Tucker posed suavely as the boys stopped to snort before bursting out laughing, much to the geek's dismay.
"Oh relax, you guys," Caitlin said, patting Tucker. "If it means anything, you are kinda cute, in a geeky way." The girl smiled as her friend did.
"Thanks, Caitlin," Tucker replied.
"Aw, how adorable, the two are bonding," Jonesy teased with his hands clasped together in a sing-song voice.
"Tucker and Caitlin sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" Jude stopped singing as he scratched his chin. "How does the rest of that song go?"
"Oh, knock it off guys. Tucker and I are just friends," Caitlin waved it off. Though the boy had a different reaction.
"I'm honesty just surprised I was teased with that song." Tucker wore a stunned face as he spoke. "How many nerds hear their name in it?"
As the others talked, Wyatt, who had been silently observing with his coffee, suddenly stopped and became mesmerized. His eyes darted across the mall as he stared, ignoring everything.
"Uh, Wyatt?" Sam tugged on his shirt, but the boy didn't respond. "Ok, what's with Wyatt?"
"Uh-oh," Jen said.
"What's Uh-oh?" Danny looked in the direction Wyatt was trying at. He didn't focus on anything until his girlfriend pointed at someone.
It was an older teenage girl in blue who was by the music store. With dark skin, brown hair, and blue eyes, the girl was walking with a friend, not noticing Wyatt staring.
"Serena," Wyatt let out, looking nervous and anxious.
"Um...can someone fill me in?" Sam asked the million-dollar question as Danny and Tucker agreed in unison.
"That's Serena," Nikki muttered, spinning her hand.
"And Wyatt is staring at her because..."
"Wyatt used to date Serena till she broke up with him over text. The dude did not take it well," Jonesy filled in, only to hiss when Nikki stomped his foot.
Wyatt ignored him as he sighed in frustration. The typically level teen slouched away as he finished his coffee. he looked worse than Sam in the mornings or some of the ghosts everyone had seen.
"I think I'll go...somewhere..." Wyatt muttered, feeling down
The Amity trio watched Wyatt slowly walk away with a sad look. Tucker could completely understand the coffee-drinking teen was coming from and decided to make an effort to try and hopefully find some way to cheer him up later somehow.
"Why doesn't he just ignore her?" Tucker asked.
"You try ignoring your ex when you work in the same place."
The Amity teens seethed and hissed at Nikki's words, now piercing everything together. They felt bad for their friend and wondered what they could do to help, but that would have been impossible without full context.
For the rest of the day, the group tended to Wyatt and made sure he felt better before tomorrow.
It was the supposed day of Thanksgiving. And although Canadian schools were still open, Danny and his friends took the time to explore before their friends got out.
"I gotta say, coming here was definitely a good idea," Danny said, asking along the streets. Despite being in another country, the boy didn't see much difference in the nation. Although he didn't study about the country or anything.
"Well, it is nice not having to deal with my parents. My folks usually just drag me around to some relative's place or the country club. It's so crowded and stuffy, I wonder If I can breath sometimes," Sam commented.
"And it's nice to do something different. I still can't believe my folks allowed me to go.," Tucker said in his happy tone. "This weekend is awesome! Jen and and her friends are the coolest!"
The trio nodded, happy to have tried this endeavor. Though a few bumps, Canada was very welcoming, even if some culture clash, like some food and its names in the Great North, needed some adjusting.
It was lunchtime at McGillis-Pertsch High School, and Jen and the others were talking about their new friends. No one could complain unless they didn't like whatever they had from the cafeteria.
"So, who can say they're definitely enjoying our new friends?" Caitlin asked with interest. The girl picked at her salad with gusto as she waited for answers.
"You already know what I'm gonna say. Danny's been so sweet, even if he does seem to have bladder problems," Jen answered. Her answer got the others to stare at her in confusion as they put down their forks and knives.
"The dude pees a lot?" With his burger and fries, Jude asked, looking back to his meal. He was chill as he ate, taking a bite from his burger.
"Especially back in Amity Park. It was like three times a date back there."
"Maybe there was something in the water," Caitlin added.
Nikki put down her food as she glared slightly. The pink girl did not want to talk about peeing at lunch. Evident when she pinched her nose in frustration.
"Can we talk about the others? And not about Danny's bladder?" Nikki snarked.
Jen apologized as Jonesy took the floor.
"You know, I have to admit, they seemed a bit geeky, but I kinda like them," Jonesy commented. Everyone stared at him. "What? They're kinda fun to be around." The boy took a bite of his food. "Though I gotta ask, what's with Sam? One moment she's smiling, and the next she's mopey."
Nikki stuffed some of the boy's food in his mouth, telling him not to worry about it. Wyatt would have inquired why but was cut off by Caitlin. The blonde girl sent a stare that kept the boy quiet, sipping on his drink.
"Ok, then what do you want to talk about?" Wyatt asked, trying to change the subject, albeit awkwardly and without direction.
"As long as it has nothing to do with the history test, I'm cool with anything," Jonesy remarked. The boy wished he had studied more, but he found the subject too dull.
"Let me guess, you flunk another test." Nikki smirked as Jonesy turned away with an angry huff.
"How should I know when National Super Association was dissolved into different companies after supers were made illegal?" Jonesy whined, stress eating his food. "Why couldn't we study something more interesting?"
"Like the hotness of the costumes?" Jude teased with a sly chuckle. The laid-back teen saw his Latino friend hold out a fist. "Dude."
"Jude," The boys fist-bumped as they chuckled, turning to Wyatt, who wore a similar smile.
"I'll admit, some of those costumes are...pleasing to the eyes," Wyatt commented.
"Or to your head," Nikki snarked, throwing a fork at the boys. She quickly replenished her utensils from Jude. The boy wasn't using them anyway. "Seriously, who dresses like that?"
The gang pondered that thought, save for Jude, who had a rare nugget of wisdom.
"I think it's alright that they wear that stuff. Dude can dress like too if they want. Who are we to judge others for how they like to put on their shirt? In the end, it's a dude's and bra's choice that matters."
Jude went back to munching on his hamburger as his friends stared. They smiled and gave the boy a small round of applause, enjoying his say on the matter. For all that empty-headedness the blonde skater showed, his mind displayed proper wisdom every now and then. Even though the girls had looks that said, this isn't over. While they accepted the point, they wanted a few words in before ending this conversation.
Unfortunately, that's when the next period bell rang, signaling the end of lunch. The teens put away their trays as they exited the cafeteria. Jude still had part of a burger left. With chill thinking, he grabbed it and finished it along the way, taking the final bite in class. While the teachers would groan at the boy, it wouldn't stop Jude.
The dude moved at his own pace.
The trio headed out to walk off their meal by grabbing a meal from a nearby restaurant, OPA!. Tucker patted his stomach, having overeaten with three plates of kabobs. The boy couldn't resist going all out, even on vacation, showing off his big appetite as he licked his fingers. They walked along the streets of Canada, enjoying the many different scenes. While not their country, it was beautiful and peaceful.
"Man that was some goo lamb," Tucker said. The boy burped loudly before taking a toothpick to his teeth, cleaning between the ridges.
"Considering you got more on you than in you, I'd wonder how good that was." Sam's snark irritated the boy. As the two argued, Danny couldn't help laughing. The ghost boy was getting loud as his friend turned to him.
"What are you so happy about?" Sam asked.
"I'm just glad we get to hang out like normal teenagers again. I mean, there are no ghosts here or any reason to go ghost." Danny's well-earned joy was halted by the sound of screams.
"Ghosts!"
Danny sighed. He should've known better, as he knew the universe wouldn't let him off easy. So, he went to work, looking for a place to transform, like a nearby alleyway. The boy hid as white rings came forth and changed him from Fenton to Phantom. He came flying over, making sure to stay invisible as he flew towards the sound of screams.
"I swear if it's the box ghost again, I'm gonna mail him back to the Ghost Zone in spectate boxes!" Danny cried in frustration. He knew that may be too much and wasn't serious about the threat. Still, he had enough of the ghost.
However, much to the surprise of the ghost boy, these were some ghosts that he had never seen before. They looked more like gangsters from old movies than spirits.
"Ok, you're not the Box Ghost," Danny commented, stopping in front of the gang. "So who are you people?"
"We are ghosts here to find and destroy our old rat of a partner, Jimmy Falcone. We followed leads and heard the little weasel was here in Canada and we have come to whack him."
"Jimmy Falcone?" Danny couldn't help wondering where these guys came from. Also, if they had been looking for this Jimmy guy, how did they find him. He didn't seem bright. "Quick question, how do you know he's here?"
The ghostly gangsters glanced at each other, rubbing their arms and muttering before one spoke up.
"Yeah...long story, but after we became ghosts, we tried to shake down the feds, but were met with these guys in white suits and had to leave. We heard from a guy that Jimmy was seen in New York with one of those Canadian cops and where they went."
"That ...sounds stupid," Danny commented.
"To be fair, we'z heard they were drunk in something fierce." The ghosts muttered in agreement. "I mean, the trail we followed went around, even out of the states, like China, Russia, Africa, and India."
Danny blinked as he listened on. He was in no hurry, but the story's validity was questionable. He knew of alcohol and saw on tv how one can act under the influence, but he doubted anyone could get that drunk, act so stupid, and still get away.
"You gotta be kidding me," Danny snarked after hearing the whole story. "There's no way anyone could do all that while drunk."
"You calling us liars?" One of the more giant ghosts said, shaking his fist. He looked angry as his friends put on the same face. The others brought chains, knives, brass knuckles, and guns. "Cause let me tell ya something. You don't wanna call us that?"
"Dude, I might not have gotten drunk, but I call definitely tel you nothing sounds true in your story." Danny glowed his hands. "And if you're gonna get violent, the. You picked the wrong guy to fight. Though that's probably how you became ghosts."
The spectral crooks gave a nervous glance before re-adopting angry faces. They weren't gonna tell this kid anything, as expected of omertà, the code of silence.
Days ago, before Danny and his friend left for Canada, Vlad Masters enjoyed his breakfast as he read the papers. He was taking a quick breather from his scheming, having reviewed them on his tablet, when he tapped on the news app and saw a most intriguing article.
"Hmmm...interesting. Major members of the Gambini crime family stab themselves in prison during an argument." Vlad looked at the article, wondering if he read that right. "Reports indicate the mob family was arguing about snitch, Jimmy Falcone, and how to kill him in the courtyard. The argument turned deadly as they brought out handmade shivs and started stabbing each other. Officers nearby detained the surviving members before a riot broke out. But all remaining members died due to blood loss before treatment. Last words were 'Im gonna haunt Jimmy Falcone.' Huh...I wonder if that would work."
While the thugs were intimidating, including the smaller ones with scars, they weren't much of fighters as ghosts. Danny had them down within ten minutes before sucking them into the Fenton Thermos.
"You think gangster ghosts would rely more on guns than knives or chains," Danny commented as he flew back. But as he disappeared, the boy did not notice a pair of eyes following him as a call was made.
"It's me...yes sir, the ghost boy is still in Canada...yes this does correspond with our data...I will make contact when the time is right...thank you, sir."
Danny met back up with his friends, making their way to the mall, when they noticed a particular school coming up. The McGillis-Pertsch Highschool, with a regular campus and formal design for high school.
"Hey, isn't this the school the guys go to?" Tucker asked. He pointed to the building, which seemed empty of most students.
"Hey, you're right." Sam stated at the campus as a thought came to mind. "Who wants to surprise the guys and sneak into the place?"
"We're in." Danny and Tucker spoke simultaneously in glee.
The trio held on as Danny turned them invisible. Quietly walking into the school grounds, the kids saw the place mostly empty, save for students hanging out in club rooms and sports fields. Chess, curling, and the like were the only things happening, much to the teens' confusion.
"I think we missed them?" Sam said slowly.
"Yeah, I guess time pst too fast and everyone is at the mall," Tucker added, looking around.
Danny would've commented on the irony but remembered how Jen spoke of her place on the hockey team. Since that was a year-long sport in Canada, he led his friends to the nearby rink. He saw Jen skating through the team, scoring goals at a record pace. The girl seemed more like she was gliding than skating, and it was beautiful to see. Even though the girl was rough on the ice, the boy smiled at this new side of the girl.
Even Sam and Tucker found this fun. The goth girl sat down with her friends as they watched the teams practice. It was probably the first time they actually could enjoy a sport.
As the buzzer went off, the team came together as Jen hollered in excitement. The girl took off her helmet with a smile, waving her stick in the air.
"Uh, Jen," one of the players said, tapping the redhead on the shoulder. She pointed to Danny and company, who waved at the girl. "I think your boyfriend is here."
Jen looked a bit fluttered for a second until she relaxed as she quickly skated towards the double doors and met up with her boyfriend and his friends, who tagged along with him here.
Tucker and Sam soon felt like two halves of a third wheel, and this was a sign to go their separate ways for now and give the lovebirds some room and time together.
"Danny! I can't believe here. Or are you here early so you can check out my mad hockey skills in action?" Jen asked in a comfortable teasing manner.
The ghost boy hasn't said anything yet and simply stared at his Canadian girlfriend in all her sporty glory. Despite the bulky-looking hockey uniform, Jen looked absolutely stunning in Danny's eyes. Especially with her helmet off to show off how wild and hot her hair looks right now and that her blue almost looked like they just sparkled too. Needless to say, the ghost boy was a bit lost for words at the moment.
"Danny? You still there?" Jen asked, noticing his silent pause.
"You look so gorgeous right now," Danny said absentmindedly, with his cheeks turning pink and not from the cold weather of this country.
This caused Jen to blush profusely upon hearing what her boyfriend had just said right to her face and was left speechless.
The ghost boy managed to snap himself back towards reality and saw that his girlfriend was turning red right. He was confused at first, but then he realized what he had just done.
"D-Did I just say that out loud?" Danny said, wanting to know for sure what he had just done, and got his answer when Jen nodded her head up and down, making the ghost boy turn a new shade of red.
"I-I'm gonna go changed out of my ice skates and sports uniform and then meet up with you outside the locker rooms." Jen said and didn't wait to hear Danny's response as she raced towards the girl's locker room to get charged and cool herself off from her sudden embarrassment.
Entering the mall, Jen and Danny finally spent some time alone, going to the amusement park inside the mall. The ghost boy was amazed at how much the place offered, partially wanting to ride the indoor roller coaster. But that was for later as Jen pulled him behind the stands and away from prying eyes. The two instantly went to a time-honored tradition for teens: making out. Though it seemed teenagers always found a place to do so.
Evident by a pair of lovebirds Danny saw, who were constantlymaking out. Everyone in the mall could swear that's all they did, only separating for air.
Breaking the kiss, Jen fluttered her eyes and looked down at Danny.
"So, you liked what you saw back at the rink?" Jen cooed.
Danny blushed as he avoided eye contact. But he could feel the girl's stare eating away as he tried to form a coherent sentence.
"W-well...I just thought I'd take a look. And when I saw how you were playing, tackling the other girls on the team, I thought..."
Danny didn't finish that sentence as Jen giggled.
"Wow, you can be corny!" Jen laughed.
I really am like Dad. I thought she got how she rammed everyone for the puck. Danny thought.
"But you know—" Jen leaned in for another kiss. "—I like that about you."
Soon, the noise in the background became distant as the two made out. Danny rubbed the back of Jen's head as he held her deeper. Jen wasn't letting go having her arms wrapped around the boy's back. Their thoughts were only of each other as they became engrossed in each other.
But then, a blue wisp appeared. The ghost boy shivered as he felt its presence as it went into Jen's mouth. The girl coughed a bit as the mist escaped.
"What was that?" Jen coughed.
"Uh...the call of nature?" Danny's tone was uncertain as he spoke.
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I have to use the bathroom."
"But you went five minutes ago."
"Yeah...well, those mega jugs we got earlier go right through you." Danny left swiftly.
Jen stared as the ghost boy walked out of the theater. She breathed on her hand and sniffed, seeing if she had bad breath. She could smell the poutine they had before coming from the burger place.
What is going on with him? Jen thought, not liking this.
All the while, Danny ran out, found a hiding spot near a cutout, and changed forms to go deal with the nuisance. He raced outside invisibly and saw his pest going into the back where the mall kept storage.
Phasing into the room, the ghost boy saw boxes longed up and stacked with the Box Ghost in the middle, drawing what looked like a magic circle from horror films with a cardboard box on top.
"Box Ghost." Danny groaned with damaged pride, having forgotten about his thawed foe. The boy could not take the annoying ghost seriously as a threat. He looked sleepy at his foe, who was too conceited to tell he was being looked down on.
"Haha! Have you come to witness the ultimate power of the BOX GHOST!" The Box Ghost was manically gleeful, wearing a slasher smile as his eyes glowed red.
"Your big scheme seems to be sacrificing a box...not impressed."
"Fool! Once I complete this ritual, Canada will be restored to its body glory!" The Box ghost yelled as he laughed maniacally.
Danny stared at the ghost, wondering if all the beating he gave him had given him a concussion. Maybe next time he saw Skulker, he'd sit down with the hunter and ask if anyone's been experimenting on the Box Ghost.
"Can we get this over with? I got a date to get back to," Danny said, impatient. "Besides, I think you need therapy or something...I mean when was the last time you slept?" The ghost boy noticed thick black rings on the Box Ghost eyes. "Wait, did you rush over here after binge watching at entire series where Canada is square?"
The Box ghost didn't like being dismissed like this and levitated every box in the room. Temporarily fell asleep but quickly awoken as he prepared his attack.
"You doubt the power of the Box Ghost, who has seen the entire twenty-five seasons of South Park in on sitting!? I am the Box Ghost! Fear me!" The Box ghost shouted as he brought out the contents of the boxes, firing them at the ghost boy.
Danny rolled his eyes and went intangible, letting the items hit the wall.
"I SO don't have time for this," the ghost boy said as his eyes glowed blue.
Before The Box ghost knew it, he got frozen in a block of ice.
"And this time, I'm finishing the job," Danny said as he pulled out his thermos and sucked him inside."and you could use the time to sleep, because I think you were definitely going crazy."
Once done, he phased through the walls to get back to Jen, unaware or unconcerned, about the security camera in the storage room and the fight it recorded. But that wouldn't be important till another day.
Jen sighed as she walked around searching for Danny. She went to the restroom, and there was a packed line with no boyfriend to be found. She got irritated and started to fume when she felt a tap on her shoulder.
"Are you mad?" Came the voice of Danny as the girl turned around with a frown. Her arms were crossed as she glared at him.
"I don't know? Does leaving your date to go to the bathroom make you mad?" Jen growled, wanting an explanation for the delay. "I mean, that was a long trip to the bathroom."
Danny rubbed the back of his head, glancing at the line. "Wow, where did that come from?" He asked.
"You mean, you don't remember standing in line for the bathroom? The place you were going to?" Jen leaned down on the boy.
"There wasn't a line when I got there," Danny answered.
She was glad that he was here, but that was a pretty long bathroom break. She wondered what was with the frequent trips and thought about getting some medicine for the boy. But the screams from the roller coaster got the boy's attention as he grabbed her hand and asked if she wanted to ride it.
With a nid, the two began going through every ride possible. Well...except for one.
"Danny, is the tunnel of love that bad?" Jen asked, pointing towards the ride. While it wasn't fancy or anything, the girl thought it to be romantic with her boyfriend. But the ghost boy froze up when he saw it.
"S-sorry, Jen. I have this bad experience with the Tunnel of Love. I had a bad date with it." Danny's voice was the epitome of fear and anxiety as he shivered.
Jen glanced at the swan boats made for the heart-shaped tunnel. She raised a brow, wondering how bad the experience could be, but one look at Danny and she figured the guy had it rough and relented.
"Ok. Sorry I asked." Jen grabbed the boy's hand. "Do you...want to talk about it?"
Danny stopped shaking as he felt the warmth of his girlfriend's hand. He stared at her, his last memory of the Tunnel of Love being pushed into the back of his mind. Jen smiled, glad her boyfriend was calming down and they dec died to leave the ride be and go win some prizes at some stands. While not the best with some of the concession stands, some Danny would claim were rigged, the ghosty boy had managed to claim a prize on the test of strength.
"Thanks for the glowing," Jen tapped the prize, a small ring around her wrist that was more appropriate for raves than decoration. Still, it was a sweet gesture and token, so she kept it on.
"I'll think I'll work out at some point." Danny moped, feeling bad not about the prize but the fact that he didn't hit the bell. He thought all that time ghost fighting meant something, but maybe it was more to do with the forms. He'd have to study that later.
"Well, I like it. Thanks for coming over on the holidays. You didn't have to." Jen's smile dissipated the boy's mood.
"Nah, it was alright. My folks were happy to see me enjoy myself. Anyway, it's getting late. I'll see you tomorrow." Danny guided the girl out of the park. Looking into the skylight above, he saw how the sky was turning dark, meaning he had to get back to the hotel he and his friends were staying at.
The two parted at the bus stop, were their destination were in different directions. Before Jen boarded her bus, she turned around for a farewell, for now.
"I had a wonderful time. I can;t wait for tomorrow. Bye, Danny..."Jen said.
The two shared a kiss as the girl went on the bus, disappearing from sight as the ghost boy waved. After a few minutes of bliss, Danny looked around as he transformed and went back to his room.
On the bus, Jen smiled, despite how strange things got today, she had a great time with Danny. Still, a part of her couldn't help but feel suspicious about his many absences during their date today. She wondered what was going on, but put those thoughts away as there was only a certain amount of time left before the boy headed home.
The Next day held some more quiet fun and the group split up. While the Amity Trio had come to visit, their new friends still had jobs and that meant everyone went their separate ways. They'd still meet up at the Lemon; Caitlin would always reserve their table. Danny hung out with Jen at the Penalty Box, where they had to keep the public displays of affection on the down-low for Coach Halder.
To do that, Jen showed Danny some Hockey equipment, he was "interested" in buying, but was unsure about it. The girl showed the boy proper posture with a demonstration, mainly by getting behind him and pressing against his back and personally teaching the ghost boy the right movements and maneuvers of how to Dodge, swing, and strike a winning puck goal. The two enjoyed the moment, even when Coach Halder broke it.
"Techincal foul!" Coach blew his whistle. "Masteron! Why are you pressing against this customer?"
"Uh...sorry, sir, but this nice lady here was showing me this equipment I was looking to buy." Danny thought quickly and lied through his teeth, under the gaze of the skeptical manager. Picking up the hockey stick he was inspecting, the ghost boy brought it to the register, where Jen rang it up, and left.
Coach Halder had his eye on the ghost boy the entire time. When Danny was gone he turned to Jen and said, "Masterson! I'm gonna let that slide, but you know the rules about love."
"That you have to do fifty push-ups because you said it?" Jen smirked as she caught her boss on his own rules. She rested her head, supporting it with her elbow on the counter, as she watched Halder work up a sweat. The girl gave one glance at Danny, waving goodbye before testing him on how they'll meet up later.
Tucker decided to wait by the Lemon, wanting to avoid the drama that would be with Wyatt at his job at the record store, Spin This. Jude would come along any second now, and the boy figured Jonesy would be fired soon, for any number of reasons.
"Hey Tucker, this make might be shot in the dark to ask, but can help fix this blender? It's been kind of the fritz lately and I thought that maybe you could have a look at it and see if you can fix. Since you're tech-wiz and really great with machines." Caitlin asked in a soft and slightly pleading tone. "Pretty please, I'll even offer you a free pink lemonade, just don't tell my boss Big Steve."
"Alright, just try not to expect me to turn this blender into some sort state-of-the-art Home Appliance. I know that I'm good with tech, but my field in expertise is mainly on way more advanced technology and not so much on cooking ware stuff." Tucker accepted before he continued to brag about his skill in tech. "Still though, this should take me around 5 minutes to get it running like it's new, 10 at most."
"Yay! You're the best Tucker!" Caitlin said in delight. Since this also meant that she won't get in any trouble with her boss about the blender getting broken on her watch.
The praise from the attractive Canadian blond girl about his tech skills was a nice change of pace in the techno geek's daily life, which gave him the motivation to work his magic on this cooking appliance.
Everyone was having a blast.
Well, all but Sam. While the goth girl was having a great time, a part of her ached whenever the ghost boy walked away with his girlfriend. Oftentimes, Sam would excuse herself to check out the mall or escort her grandmother, much to everyone's concern. But she wasn't as good at hiding her emotions as she thought.
Something the goth learned when she went to the Khaki Barn on the last forty-eight hours hanging out with Nikki. It had been another day talking and ignoring the Clones.
"And then Ron made Jonesy take off the uniform in public!" Nikki laughed, finishing her story as Sam joined in. The two pounded on the counter, much to Christen's dismay. A chubby man with glasses came to the cashier with a pair of Jean.
"Uh, excuse me?" The customer said.
"And the thing is, Jonesy decided to wear his leopard print underwear! So everyone got to see!"
The girls went hysteric as their laughter roared throughout the store. The goth girl wished she had seen such a hilarious sight.
"Can you please ring this up?" The customer asked.
"Yeah. Yeah. Hold on there." Nikki put a hand in front of the guy's face. Her face turned from fun to neutral and back as she turned to Sam. "And that's just one of the many times Jonesy was fired. You should see how fast he gets fired."
Sam listened with enthusiasm as Christen came behind her. the lead clone and store manager grunted as she got their attention, pointing at the customer. The man was patiently waiting as Nikki stared at him.
"So?" The punk girl asked.
"He's a customer." Christen leaned in. "So help him out ring the clothes."
Nikki sighed but got to work. She may not like the job, but she wanted the paycheck. It had always been the only reason she worked here.
As the punk girl went to work, Sam stared out the window, ignoring the Clones once more. The goth needed something to keep her mind off them, least she heard them squeeing in unison. She shuddered in fear, knowing how such torture would prove too much after one hour.
It still amazed the goth girl that the punk could still willingly come to work in this particular clothing store run by a corporation she'd definitely protest against. Sam knew that she would've quit after two weeks or maybe one. Ok, after a few hours at most.
"Still jealous of Jen?" Nikki asked, breaking Sam out of her thoughts of girlish torture. The goth realized her friend knew better than she thought.
Sam nodded shamefully. Despite all the fun this weekend, the goth could still feel her heartstrings jerked and pulled. Every time she saw Danny and Jen together, the girl's heart ached, and she didn't know what to do about it.
"I just wish there was a way to get back at Jen without hurting her or anything," Sam leaned on the counter mopedly. "But I don't think there's a way."
"So you just want all your jealousy gone, but might want it at Jen's expense?" Nikki did not give any scowl or snarky remark. Instead, the girl wore a smile, a sly one that held much-wicked intent.
"What are you planning?" Sam stood up as she watched Nikki walk out of the counter.
"Come with me, I know just the thing." The punk girl grabbed the younger goth as they walked out the store. "And let's get your grandma. She'll help too."
The goth girl would've questioned her intentions about an hour ago, but after spending time being around the Khaki Barn clones, she'll take any excuse to leave.
Danny and Tucker were at the Lemon at the teen's table, waiting for the others. This weekend proved fun, so much that they were partially exhausted.
"Dude, I can't remember the last time we had a blast like this!" Tucker exclaimed, leaning back on his chair. He kicked both feet up, accidentally pushing him to the dirty mall floor, but he didn't care.
"Probably because back home we're the losers. Can't say what we are here, but we gotta do this again," Danny said, watching his friend get back up.
"You know it! Who knows, maybe next time we can even spend our next vacation here the Great North." Tucker leaned back in his chair. While it took some getting used to, the boy admitted how great it's been in Canada. Granted, he figured there was still stuff that would bite him in the butt he didn't know about, but that didn't stop him from relaxing.
While Danny agreed, mostly because his girlfriend was here, he had to admit his time here was well spent. Looking around, the boy noticed the craziest thing and stood up, alerting Tucker while pointing behind the techno-geek. Caitlin, who was reading a magazine, looked up to see the craziness. The trio was shocked, with Danny even more so, when they saw Jen roller-skating around the mall, in a mini black and white New Year's Eve bikini with a diving snorkel, in a pair of super pink and glittery unicorn roller skates. On her shoulders, many sparklers were lit, dazzling as their flares flickered in wind with the Canadian flag painted on Jen's stomach. The girl wore a rainbow afro wig with extra sparklers in it.
While she was wearing the most bizarre and eye-catching getup, the ghost boy recognized her immediately as she ran from Ron, who was chasing her on his patrol vehicle that's been egged and toilet-papered from head to toe.
"Stop! You are breaking various laws of this mall, including subsection A113 of the mall code! You are to cease this immediately for detainment!" Ron yelled from his vehicle.
The guys were completely speechless at what they were seeing right now. Too distracted to notice that some of the other people in the mall were having similar reactions.
Needless to say that all of the mall shoppers gasped for various reasons. Some shielded their's and their children's eyes, others cheered her on and a few even brought out their phones and send this crazy stunt on the internet. Thankfully no one but her friends seemed to recognize her in this outrageous getup.
Ron was catching up, until a random katana pierced one of his wheels. The mall cop looked up to see Deadpool, waving with a missing sword.
"Sorry about that, Christopher Walkens. It must've slipped." The merc, while masked, could be seen smiling as he watched the chaos unfold.
Ron shook his fist at the red-suited merc and went back to chasing Jen on foot.
Jen shook her arms as she tried to maneuver on the skates. She screamed as she swerved and glided along the levels of the mall haphazardly, wondering how she was barely keeping it together when she skated on the ice. Then, she barely passed the benches as she navigated a swarm of people, now remembering how this was similar to hockey. The adrenaline kicked in as she took control and outskated Ron, who came by on segway.
It was then the boys saw their friends running after. All of them held wild faces like the typical rebelliousness teens were known for in the movies.
"Guys come on!" Caitlin yelled.
"We gotta make sure Jen doesn't get caught!" Nikki yelled.
"Du-hu-hu-des!" Jude laughed as he skated across.
With the two-wheeled ride, the officer was hot on Jen's trail, outpacing the teens as they ran to save their friend. He was inching closer and closer, practically smeeling the girl right now. Danny debated wther he should break off and go ghost, but he didn't want to blow his cover.
"You're mine now, maggot," Ron seethed as his hand was millimeters away from Jen. The redhead wondered why she was doing this, not mentally prepared for the consequences. Her parents would never let Danny back after this, probably.
But help came as Sam saw her grandma off her scooter, wiggling on the floor.
"Officer, help! I can't get up!" Grandma Mason yelled. The elderly lady looked helpless, but with one wink towards her granddaughter and the teens knew she was playing. And what was better, her plan worked as Ron gave up the chase to help the elderly woman up.
Ron gave one last glare at Jen before he said, "YOu win this round, punk. But if I ever catch you doing this again, the consequences will be worse."
The officer strolled away towards the elderly woman as Jen counted her blessings and skated to the Lemon. The girl waited as the teens met up with her. Danny stared Jen in disbelief, and because she was in a bikini, making the girl blush as Cailin got the lemon open.
"Go in, quick!" Caitlin cire dout.
After a quick change of clothes and some disinfectant wipes, Jen was clean and no longer in trouble, for now.
"That was...some rush!" Jen said between pants. The girl fell to her knees as she watched Ron zoom by on his vehicle. She was safe, but wouldn't press her luck any further.
Once she finally caught her breath, she stood walked towards the goth girl who had a snarky yet friendly smirk on her face and asked the all important question.
"So, we good?" Jen asked.
Sam handed her the expensive jacket, the one that made her do such a crazy thing in the first place.
"I can't believe you actually did it!" Sam laughed so hard she needed Nikki and Caitlin to support her. "That was so crazy!"
Danny stared at his girlfriend, recalling everything she did as she raced across the mall in almost ridiculous gear. He glanced at his goth friend, wondering what happened between them for this to happen.
"What exactly did you do to get Jen to do that?" Danny asked.
"More like how you got Jen to do that!" Jonesy howled. "That was seriously crazy!" The boy could not contain his laughter.
"Dude! Bra! That was totally awesome!" Jude joined in one the laughter, followed by Wyatt, who hasn't been able to say a word.
The guys were busy wiping tears from their eyes as they calmed down. but Danny still wanted answers. The ghost boy walked over to talk, but Sam beat him o the punch, holding up a hand with a look that said Tell you later. The boy would hold his gloomy friend to that, but for now, would just celebrate his girlfriend not going to jail, or whatever the mall had.
Taking Jen's hand, the boy dipped the girl, kissing her passionately to the whooping of the teens.
Sunday came as the Amity trio boarded the plane. It left in the morning, making thing difficult to say a final goodbye to the Canadian teens. Danny watched with a silent face as he and his friends landed back in Amity Park, where his parents arrived to pick up the group.
"So kids, how was Canada? Did you have fun?" Jack asked.
"Yeah dad. It was great." Danny turned to his friends. "We're planning to go again sometimes."
"That's great sweetie, but if you want to leave on a holiday, you gotta get better grades." Maddie was clear on the conditions, seeing as how they provided results last time.
The ghost boy nodded, seeing the smirks on his friends' faces. His phone went off, alerting to a text. He picked up his phone, where he got a message from Jen. Unlocking the device, he saw it was a picture of the gang with text underneath.
See you guys next time!
The ghost boy smiled, showing his friends the photo. They were definitely coming back when possible, unaware of the forces of work at home.
"Sir, the ghost boy is heading back...there was footage, but we apprehended that...the law enforcement was happy to comply and remain quiet...all is going well...Thank you, sir."
"How are the plans coming along?" Vlad Plasmius asked within the confines of his secret lab. The room was dark save for holographic displays popping up with an AI hologram of Maddie Fenton in her hazmat suit.
"Everything is going smoothly, lamb chop. Nothing has gone wrong and tests have proven stable and successful, honeykins." The Maddie AI swooned with poses as she spoke.
"Then I believe it's time we had a test run." Vlad smirked as he shit off the displays. It was time to get some real work done.
Sorry for the long delay, but I've been working on this for a while. I figured because of the six-month wait, I'd go big this time, but don;t expect something like this again, anytime soon. These long chapters can take a while. Anyway, it seems Danny and Jen got to spend some time together and Danny finally went to Canada. But one the next chapter, we get more plot. So enjoy. Also pardon for any grammar errors, posting this late at night while tired. I'll fix things. Have a great day!
Special Thanks! to Flower Princess11 for all her help!

Reviews:
Invader Johnny: Well, the Fright Knight loves poetry. So, I thought it'd be nice to see more of this side of him.
Jebest4781: No problem, but I still gotta finish Producing Parker.
RonaldM40196867: Jude. He's the smartest. They gave him an IQ test.
danifan3000: Nikki's just dealing with trauma from the kidnapping. Though some ghosts, like the Box Ghost, won't trigger it. But it has been a few weeks and she also has made progress.
pokemon fan 1991: Thanks!
Luiz4200: Yeah, with all the stars wars franchises, there are flame wars with the fans. Fright Knight barely got to appear in the series.
doctor3027: That may be useful in later chapters.
Jay The Average Fanboy: 1: Danny's is Superman. Tucker's is Ironman. Dani's is Danny Phantom, though she's also a big Kim Possible fan. Sam doesn't have one. Jazz hasn't thought about it much. Valerie is too preoccupied with ghosts and her life to think about it. 2: Yep. 3: I honestly forgot about their names. They'll introduce themselves in another chapter.
Khy Dragon(Guest): Thanks!
ZoomedIn: No tension is caused. I just only talk when I ask for help. Everything is fine. No worries about having autism. Preaching to the choir, on the spectrum. More TDI characters can appear, but that's down the road.
To all the guest reviewers, I hope you enjoyed this.
