The day after the press conference, the gang minus Tsubasa, who was doing his own thing and Hikaru who had to help the WBBA director Ryo prepare the final preparations ahead of the third round battle.
The gang were at their local training spot by the river as Masamune was doing some serious training after getting his first opportunity to participate in the BWCS and he wasn't going to let Nile win.
Alright Kenta, I gotta practice to kick some serious African butt! Masamune hypes himself up.
Let's do it! Kenta replies back, ready to show off to the GanGan Galaxy members, the result of his training.
3,2,1 LET IT RIP!
From the start, both had the same idea, attack the opponent head on but quickly Striker took control, pushing back Sagittario with its natural attack power.
Go Sagittario! Kenta commands as the yellow defense bey used one of its claws to escape Striker's hold, impressing Masamune.
Pretty sweet moves, Kenta!
And there's more coming! Kenta replies as Sagittario charges and pushes back Striker; taking Masamune by surprise.
Not bad huh?! I was so bummed out about not getting into the world championship, I've been practicing like crazy day and night!
I can tell pal! Masamune compliments, feeling proud over his friend's passion.
I'm really looking forward to seeing you all battle right before my eyes is just the best! Kenta expresses his excitement as he stretches his arms.
Kenta, this is going to be totally epic as I, Masamune, the number one blader will totally crush Nile! Masamune replies with the same amount of excitement as Striker sends Sagittario flying high into the air.
Man, watching Kenchi and Masamoo-moo makes me wanna battle too! Not fair… Wait a minute, Gingky, let's have our own battle! I've gotten stronger y'know! Yu begged.
It's on, Yu! Gingka accepted Yu's challenge as both prepared to launch their beys.
But their first match passed by in a moment as Gingka went into strong, taking the practice match more seriously than normal.
HEY! At least let my Libra attack first! Yu ranted as he picked up his bey.
Sorry! Gingka apologized as he scratched the back of his head.
Look at them, having fun, they sure are excited for our match with Wildfang, wouldn't you say so Akuma? Madoka asked.
Akuma grunted in response, watching Gingka and Masamune taking the upcoming battle unseriously.
Fun sure, but can they win when it matters? Akuma responded as he saw through Gingka's facade.
Y'know, they are stronger than you think y'know? Madoka defended her two teammates.
Did your laptop tell you that? Akuma dryly asked.
A little bit but Gingka has always surprised me, no matter how many times he has his back to a corner, he never gives up and finds a way to overcome every obstacle he faces. I can sense the same in Masamune. Madoka explained.
Whatever you say… Haven't you noticed something odd with Gingka lately? Akuma asked the mechanic.
Like what? Madoka asked back.
I think the battle with Kyouya is stressing him out. Akuma bluntly responded.
Really? I think he's more excited than stressed.
So when he ran away in Greece to do his own special training, when they stared at each other in India and during the press conference yesterday. Yeah, he's TOTALLY excited. Akuma sarcastically says.
OK, you have a point but why hasn't he told us? Madoka wonders.
Akuma and Madoka continued their conversation but decided to not push Gingka for answers as he and the others continued practicing till sundown.
You've got to be on your toes. Vulcan Horuseus sure is a mysterious bey. Yu says as the gang discusses strategy for the upcoming battle.
That's true, remember what it did in the battle with India's team? The fight was over so quickly, it wasn't even time to analyze its abilities. Madoka reminded everyone.
Masamune, don't let your guard down; your opponent is an undefeated bey! Kenta emphasized.
That's great! Because it means that the first bey to smash the undefeated record of Vulcan Horuseus will be my very own Ray Striker. I'll break through with Lightning Sword Flash! I'll take the lead over Gingka and Akuma in a blink of an eye.
Did you say: over Gingka? Kenta asks.
Who exactly do you think you are battling, Masamune? Madoka joins in as the boys really wonder where Masamune gets his confidence from.
Masamune stands up and brags. Look. Only one thing matters, I'll show you all that I'm the number one blader, BOOYAH!
Whilst the gang continued to talk, they didn't notice the two Brazilians spying on them from a safe distance.
Look at them… So carefree and relaxed. How did a team like them get this far? Ian mocked the GGG members.
Ha! Not for long they won't, when we are done with them, their dreams and hopes are much as ours. Selen smirked as they prepared to sabotage the battle before it even began.
Meanwhile at a familiar construction site where Gingka once lost all of his bey points against Phoenix, Tsubasa looked over the sundown.
Gingka… Kyouya… Masamune… Nile; battles between truly powerful bladers could easily go either way. If the battle gets complicated, I could very well have to fight; however. Tsubasa closed his eyes as he reminded himself of his battle with Chiyun in China.
Flashback starts
"I WANT TO WIN, I WILL WIN!" The rageful and consumed Tsubsa shouts as the darkness grabbed hold of him.
Flashback ends
"If that darkness happens again during a fight… That will decide whether the team wins or loses" Tsubasa thinks to himself, clutching to his beyblade when his pet Eagle screeches.
"That's right, I have you." Tsubasa smiles as the Eagle lands on his shoulder, comforting his owner.
I'm counting on you if that happens. Please watch over me, my friend. Tsubasa asks while smiling, feeling reassured he could win when his team needed him.
1 day before GanGan Galaxy vs Wildfang
With one day left before the fated third round battle, the WBBA had arranged a fan meeting with GanGan Galaxy where fans who bought tickets could meet and greet their favorite bladers.
As expected, it was sold out only a few minutes after tickets went on sale. As fans stood in line, waiting to enter the venue with some having waited for hours.
Inside, GGG prepared themselves, getting makeup, instructed on what to do and not to do by Hikaru and the staff. As friends of the team, Kenta and Yu got free passes.
Woah! This is so awesome! Kenta gushes as he and Yu see the long line of fans waiting to get their selfies and merch signed from backstage.
And we got free passes! Yu bragged while puffing his chest.
What's the deal with leaving our beys on the table? Masamune asked Hikaru.
Fans can only dream to be as good as their idols and letting them see their idols' beys up close is one way to make them feel happy. Don't worry, we have security cameras and guards all over the venue in case someone tries to steal them. Hikaru replied and reassured the guys.
So what do we exactly, Hikaru? Gingka asked, having never done it before.
Relax, Gingka, all you guys have to do is to sit, greet your fans, sign their merch and let me be clear on this, BE NICE, these fans have paid a lot to meet you guys. Hikaru ordered.
Akuma sighed as he didn't want any part of this but Hikaru made it clear, everyone has to attend.
Don't be like that, Akuma, they look up to you. Hikaru asked.
No. Akuma immediately replied, looking disinterested as usual.
Hikaru knowing he wouldn't listen but she also knows deep inside he really does care.
Get ready because they're going to be here soon.
The guys sat down at their assigned chairs, with their beys put on display and waited til they heard the rumbling getting louder and louder as soon as they opened the doors.
Guys? Should we run? Masamune asks as all get the feeling of dread except Akuma.
In a second, they were overwhelmed by fans, one at a time.
Masamune and Gingka panicked, doing whatever looked right and getting their signature nailed down while Tsubasa and Akuma remained calm.
Safe to say, Gingka has the most fans as his line is the longest, followed by Akuma, who didn't show but he was surprised, seeing how many wanted his autographs.
"Thought for sure, they were going to hate me for calling beyblader's weak." Akuma thought.
Tsubasa and Masamune had less but still significantly big lines. Masamune was initially jealous at how much fan service the two aces of GGG got but quickly forgot about it as more fans approached him, fueling his ego.
"Don't get it in your head, Masamune." Hikaru sighed.
Isn't this awesome, Kenchi?! Yu asked in excitement as he tasted all of the free snacks.
Yeah… Kenta replied, feeling down.
You OK? Yu asked.
To think, I could have been there right now. Kenta admitted, feeling a bit jealous. If only I gained more points during the qualifiers. Kenta admitted, blaming himself.
So what? Yu shrugged.
What do you mean, SO WHAT?! Kenta shouted.
Get over it, Kenchi, don't you wanna support our friends? Yu asked.
Yeah but-
See? Nothing to worry, sure I got pissed too but I'll have my revenge at the next tournament. Yu bragged.
Yeah… You're right. They're my friends and what friend would I be if I didn't support them. Kenta shrugged off his negative thoughts.
Of course, I'm right, oh? What's that?! Yu got distracted as he saw another food item, he had yet to try.
Kenta sweatdropped at his friend's antics before noticing two fans who looked suspicious.
Selen and Ian Garcia had "borrowed" some tickets and disguised themselves into the event, waiting for the right moment to strike.
Look at them, what do these "fans" see in them? Selen expressed, feeling disgusted by the view of fans swarming the Japanese team.
Once we win the championship, that will be us! Ian confidently stated. Now we just gotta wait for the right moment. Ian continued.
What are those two up to? Kenta wondered as he kept a close eye on the strangers.
An hour goes by and the speakers activate as the announcer announces the next activity will soon begin.
The activity being able to battle any of the GGG members of their choice.
As the first round of interacting with the fans was coming to a close, Akuma went to go against Hikaru's wishes, acting bored and neutral throughout. Yet fans loved that about him as he was honest and blunt with them. Then a girl, who couldn't be any older than 7, asked him:
Akuma, please, please, please sign my picture?!
The girl was holding a picture of him versus Gingka from their exhibition match a few months back.
As Akuma turns around to meet the fan, he freezes up.
Suddenly flashes of memories pass him by and not the good kind as Akuma holds his mouth and runs towards the restroom, leaving the girl to feel guilty and sad.
Akuma, where are you going?! Hikaru yelled, surprised as anyone at what just happened before she and the rest of the gang chased after him. Leaving their beyblades unattended as the fans and the staff were also distracted.
"Like stealing candy from a baby." Selen thought as she could never have imagined it was going to be so easy.
Quickly both grabbed all four beys and left the venue, not knowing Kenta saw them.
But before he could call the staff, they were already on their way out.
Come on, Yu! Let's go! Kenta shouted as he grabbed his friend who had full of food in his hands.
Huh? Hey! Yu yelled, confused at what was going on.
Back to Akuma who had locked himself in the restroom, couldn't hold it in any longer as he puked out blood onto the sink as his mind played tricks on him.
"That girl, she couldn't be? No, I…" Akuma couldn't even finish the thought as he imagined himself back to that place as a pool of dead bodies surrounded him, hearing their screams and pleas while he looked like he enjoyed it all…
Dammit! Get out of my head! Akuma shouted to himself as he squeezed his head, trying to stop his trauma.
Flashback begins
"HAHAHAHA!" ? laughed maniacally.
"I'm not going to die here, I must win!" a young girl vowed as both bladers launched their beys.
"AHHHHH!" The young girl screamed as she lost badly and her bey got crushed into a million pieces.
"Finish her." The referee ordered.
"Please, please, please, I promise, I won't lose again, I'm strong, he cheated, he… ugh!" Those were last words from the young girl as her opponent speared their bey through her heart, becoming another dead body added to the pile of rotten corpses.
Flashback ends
"Why hide who you are?" ? asked Akuma.
Akuma quickly turned around to see no there.
"What's wrong? You scared?" ? continued their teasing.
Shut up! Akuma yelled as he looked at himself in the mirror.
"There it is, the anger, the hate, the things that made us one!" ? hysterically whispered. "Y'know you want to bring it out, y'know no one can beat us so why hold back? Unleash us, together we will CRUSH ANYONE in our way! HAHAHA!" ? laughing crazier and crazier.
Do you ever shut up? Akuma talked back, trying to calm himself down.
"OOOHHH, did we hit a nerve?" ? pretended to look scared as they mocked Akuma.
Akuma, are you in there? Hikaru asked while knocking on the door, worried about her friend.
Akuma, caught up in his own demons, didn't reply, making his teammates even more worried.
UGHHH! Akuma vomited out blood again as it was getting worse.
"Ouch! Someone needs a check up… Remind me again, who was the one pushing you to become the very best?" ? rhetorically asked.
Like I need you anymore.
"Good one… You would never have gotten out of that hell hole if it wasn't for us! But seems like your sister and those "teammates" of yours made you think you could change? Hm?"
Akuma, it's not funny, please tell us you're OK?! Madoka pleaded.
"What do you say? Shall we introduce ourselves to your so-called "friends?""
Akuma's facial expression said it all: "Don't you dare!"
"Ah I see, can't believe it, a bunch of nobodies made you this soft. So who is it? Is it Gingka? Masamune? Tsubasa? Madoka? Or is it Hikaru?" ? interrogated.
Akuma flinched at the mention of Hikaru.
"Of course it's her, funny how the world works, we genuinely thought you two would hate each other til the end but then YOU HAD TO help her with her PTSD from what's the guy's name? Ryo? Rei?" ? pretended to not know.
Ryuga, enough with the teasing, I get it. Akuma sighed out of frustration.
"Do you now? Dunno what you see in that one, she's pathetic, quitting beyblade because she lost to some guy with the dark power, HA! She's better off dead." ? trash talked.
Don't you dare say another bad thing about her! Akuma was getting increasingly angrier.
"Or what? You can't hurt us. We know you like her and she's awful, I mean it, awful with a capital A, hiding her feelings for you! Get rid of her, she's holding you back." ? whispered into his ears.
NOW YOU'VE DONE IT! Akuma venomously said as his eyes lit with rage.
"Come on then, what are you waiting for? We know you hate us or should I say, yourself?" The now revealed younger Akuma fuelled his anger.
AHHHHH! Akuma screamed like he was a man on a mission and punched the mirror, cracking it and injuring his own hand before resting on the floor as blood ran down the sink.
"See you next time, HAHAHAH!" The younger Akuma laughed as Akuma's vision turns black as he collapses onto the floor.
Hearing the loud sound of glass getting smashed, Hikaru, Madoka, Gingka, Tsubasa and Masamune got extremely worried at what was happening inside.
It's not funny, Akuma, please let us in! Gingka demanded.
Akuma, please let us help you! Madoka expressed her concerns.
It's not funny, Akuma! Tsubasa added.
Masamune decided to not say anything, knowing his relationship with Akuma wasn't the friendliest and knowing anything he said wouldn't be fitting.
Deciding it was time for extreme measures, Tsubasa decided to bring out his Eagle to destroy the door but all of them realized they had left their beys in the main hall.
OK, let's just break down this door. Tsubasa instructed.
Normally the girls would intervene at the guys crazy ideas but this was for their teammate so they let it slide.
The guys nodded as they understood what they had to do.
On 3… 1,2,3! Tsubasa counted as the guys charged, shoulders first, breaking down the wooden door.
Seeing the glass all over the floor and Akuma in a pool of blood, they were both disgusted and shocked at the scene, wondering the same thing.
"What the hell happened?!"
Akuma, talk to us! Gingka yelled as the gang surrounded Akuma but he didn't show any signs of waking up.
Akuma, Akuma, hey buddy, wake up! Gingka grabbed his shoulder and shook him but nothing.
Tsubasa immediately checked his pulse.
He's OK. Tsubasa reassured the rest of the gang who sighed out of relief.
Well, what are we standing here for?! He needs a doctor! Hikaru commanded as she looked devastated over her unconscious teammate.
Right! Tsubasa, Gingka, Madoka and Masamune agreed as everyone bar Hikaru searched for the onsite medic staff.
However, it wouldn't be the last bad news as they quickly learned the team's beys had been stolen. After the ambulance came and picked up Akuma before they searched for the thieves, knowing without their beys, tomorrow's match would be one-sided.
Speaking of the thieves, Selen and Ian had returned to their temporary safehouse, being an abandoned warehouse by the port, celebrating their heist.
Easiest steal we ever made! Ian laughed, holding Striker and Eagle.
Can't believe those wannabes just gave us the opportunity. Selen laughed, holding Bahamut and Pegasus.
Ian decided to not waste any moment longer, wanting to get the job done as soon as possible. Let's destroy those beys and go.
Selen, holding Bahamut, could feel being drawn in by its power, and had other ideas. Wait! We're not in a rush, let's try them.
What? Do you want to get on Argo's bad side? Ian reminded her of what would happen if they disappointed their older brother.
Don't you see? If they are as strong as they say they are, let's use them for ourselves and if not, let's sell them; I'm sure they're worth a fortune to the right buyer. Selen suggested.
Ian gave it a quick thought before agreeing to his sister's idea. Alright then.
Meanwhile Kenta and Yu were chasing after the thieves but lost them. Yu had been informed on the way about what happened.
Are you sure they went this way? Kenta asked.
What do you mean, I was following you?! Yu asked.
What?! We've lost them. Kenta sighed.
Can't believe some fans stole their beys. Yu remarked.
I know… How can someone do that? Kenta wonders.
Let's ask someone. Yu suggested.
As Kenta and Yu started asking people if they've seen the Brazilians thieves, getting closer and closer to retrieving their friends beys; Selen and Ian were enjoying their new beyblades.
Go Striker!
Dodge, Pegasus!
This bad boy has some firepower. Ian comments.
Not bad, not bad. Selen thinks out loud as she tests her play style on Pegasus.
Ian, getting carefree, unleashed Striker's special move, destroying a lot of wooden boxes and creating a hole in the wall.
You idiot! Someone could've heard that! Selen berated her brother.
By chance, Kenta and Yu were near the harbor when they heard and saw the big explosion coming from the warehouses. Feeling it was the thieves they were looking for, they ran towards the source of the explosion.
Whoa! What happened here!? Yu shouted.
No idea but I have a feeling it must be the thieves. Kenta guessed.
Yu with his enhanced vision saw the silhouette of Selen, exiting through one of the windows.
Kenta look! Yu pointed out as Kenta just managed to see her before she left the building.
Come on, let's catch them! Kenta commanded as they ran after them.
Selen and Ian parkoured through the roofs as Kenta and Yu chased after them on the ground.
HEY! STOP IT! GIVE BACK MY FRIENDS BEYS! Kenta shouted.
Look sis, looks someone wants to play the hero. Ian said.
Selen smirked. What beys? You got the wrong people!
Oh yeah?! Why are you running?! Yu asked.
What's wrong with exercising? Selen continued to play dumb.
Come on you old lady, we know you lying! Yu yelled
Who are you calling old?! Fine, you want them so bad? Catch us! Selen challenged the boys as she nodded to her brother before splitting off in the opposite directions.
Yu, I go left, you go right! Kenta ordered.
Got it! Yu replied as they chased after their targets.
LET IT RIP! Kenta and Yu launched their beys onto the roofs, slowing down Selen and Ian.
A battle huh?
This is getting interesting. Ian and Selen muttered to themselves as they jumped down to the warehouses.
Now I got you! Kenta confidently shouted as Sagittario crashed through the windows.
Come on out, I know you're in here!
Suddenly he heard footsteps as he saw Selen's silhouette running behind some wooden boxes. Sagittario tried to catch up but when Kenta thought he surrounded the thief in a corner, she was not to be seen.
Dammit! Where did she go?! Kenta ranted.
What do you mean? I'm right here. Selen responded from the shadows as Pegasus took Sagittario by surprise.
AH! Kenta jumpscared as he was taken by surprise by the sneak attack.
You got to do better than that if you wanna catch lil old me. Selen mocked as she stepped out from the shadows.
Kenta took a moment to look Selen in the eye before realizing the beyblade he was battling. Pegasus! Now that's not fair! Kenta complained.
Grow up kid. If you want my bey- Selen said before Kenta interrupted her.
Your bey?! Pegasus belongs to Gingka and no one else! Kenta corrected the Brazilian.
I don't see Gingka's name on it. So it's mine. Selen smiled as she shrugged off Kenta's comment.
"Don't worry Gingka, me and Sagittario, we are getting back your beys!" Kenta promised in his thoughts.
Go, Sagittario!
Meanwhile Yu found himself in a similar situation as Libra was getting barraged from Striker from all directions as Ian used the environment to his advantage, making Striker dive bomb from all directions as Libra was stuck.
Is this the best you got?! Ian mocked Yu.
Ha! This is nothing, Libra! Sonic wave! Yu instructed as Libra began firing sonic waves in all directions, making Striker crash land into one of the barrels.
Not bad kid! Ian pretended to praise Yu.
Thanks and stop calling me kid! My name is Yu! Yu demanded as he waved his hands like he was creating angel wings.
Is everyone as hotheated as you kid? Ian ignored Yu's request as Striker used its attack power to escape the rubble and attacked Libra head on, pushing it back.
Stop calling me that! Libra! Sonic buster! Libra started vibrating extremely fast, pushing Striker back, turning the concrete floor into sand and making a shrieking noise.
Aghhh! What is this?! Ian covered his ears from the high pitched noise while Striker started to slow down.
I've got you now! Yu shouted with excitement as Libra began its counterattack.
I don't think so! Ian, not giving up, commanded Striker to dodge, utilizing Striker's speed to glide across the sand with ease.
Yu got frustrated again as Libra was wasting its attacks but having practiced with Masamune, he knew his opponent wasn't using Striker's full potential.
It turned into a battle of waiting for the opponent to make the first move. Ian uses his inner clock to find the right moment to strike.
Special move: Lightning Sword Flash!
Too bad! Special move: Inferno Blast! Yu summoned Libra's strongest special move as Striker tried to break through the green wall but Striker's horn broke as their contact caused a smoke explosion.
Ian flew back and crashed his back against the warehouse walls as Eagle fell from his pocket. Yu quickly returned Libra as he grabbed Striker and Eagle, successfully taking back two out of the four missing GGG beyblades.
Oh yeah! Who's the kid now! Yu bragged to the beaten Ian who gritted his teeths out of frustration. Before Yu could continue to brag, another explosion could be heard on the other side. Knowing it was Kenta, Yu rushed to his side while Ian escaped.
Meanwhile, Tsubasa, Gingka, Masamune and Madoka saw the familiar Inferno Blast from the city, ran towards the source as they had a feeling they were going to find their beys.
Back to Kenta and Selen, Kenta was struggling to hit Pegasus as Selen used her runaway tactics to dodge every single attack with ease.
Despite being a stamina type, Libra was beginning to lose speed as it began wobbling.
Sagittario don't give up! Kenta encouraged his partner.
All talk and no bite! Selen suggested.
No! Not before you give back Pegasus and Bahamut! Kenta refused to back down.
Why do you care? They're going to lose the world championship either way. Selen slipped up as Kenta started to wonder why exactly she stole them.
Lose the championship? Did you steal them to sabotage the championship?! That's so evil! Kenta gasped at the revelation.
Guess the cat is out of the bag. Selen confirmed Kenta's theory.
That's not fair! Not to Gingka and the others, not to the other teams who fought so hard to qualify! Kenta scolded Selen.
Fair? Grow up, nothing in this world is fair! You take what you get and don't look back. Selen angrily said with a hint of sadness in her voice but nothing Kenta noticed.
That's so wrong, don't you want to have fun? Give it your all? Feel your opponent's blader spirit? Kenta questioned his opponent's reasoning for battling.
Blader's spirit, what are you on about? Selen, having never been treated fair, couldn't understand the joy of battling for fun.
I'll show you, Sagittario! Kenta shouted as Sagittario, feeling his partner's drive to win, recovered some of its speed and managed to connect with Pegasus.
"What? This is not good!" Selen, thought of as Pegasus being an attack type, was losing its stamina quickly.
Seeing his chance to win, Kenta called upon his special move.
Special move: Flame claw! Bursting in flames, the yellow bey charged towards Pegasus.
Huh?! What are you doing!? Kenta baffled at Selen's action as she returned Pegasus to her hand while Sagittario crashed into the wall, creating an explosion.
Sorry kiddo but I don't lose, bye! Selen stuck out her tongue and escaped.
Dammit, I had her! Kenta slammed his fist into the ground, frustrated at himself for letting his teammate's down.
Kenta! Yu reached out as he just arrived.
Yu, I'm sorry, she got away… Kenta informed Yu of the bad news.
Shortly after, Tsubasa, Gingka, Madoka and Masamune arrived on the scene. Kenta explained what happened and blamed himself for not being strong enough to stop the thieves.
It's OK, Kenta, you did your best you could, you couldn't have known she was going to do that and it's her loss, no real blader would run away from a battle. Gingka consulted the crying Kenta and embraced his friend in a hug.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Kenta repeated as he couldn't stop blaming himself.
Kyouya is not going to be happy. Tsubasa commented, with Pegasus and Bahamut gone, they had to win both of their matches to advance.
I know, this is not good. Madoka knew without Bahamut and Pegasus, their chances of winning the tournament were slim.
So what?! Striker and I are going to mop the floor with Nile tomorrow! Masamune refused to let the bad news get to the team.
Masamune, it's not that easy! Madoka argued but Masamune wasn't having any of it.
