20. Chapter 19

Chapter 19; A Trio of Airheads

Not long after they had returned to Trollmarket, everyone was doing some training. Noah and Seth had turned into Soul, Gnome Fighter form, and were fighting the training dummies. Claire was practicing with the shadow staff with Draal's instructions. And Toby was punching Aaarrrgghh's hands. "Ugh! Why won't the shadow staff make a portal?" Claire said as he has been trying to make a portal the whole time. Draal stopped her and said. "Slow down, young one. The shadow staff is a weapon of great power. You must learn to empower the staff itself. Focus, imbue it with you will. The stronger the emotions, the greater control."

"I don't get it. Claire just joined the team, and she gets to handle the super-sweet, megamatic portal staff?" Toby said, looking at Claire, and he didn't notice that Aaarrrgghh was in pain. Well the poison was not noticeable, yet, it started to hurt the nerves in Aaarrrgghh's left arm. So while Toby's punches weren't that strong, they were hurting Aaarrrgghh. So Aaarrrgghh stopped just as Toby threw another punch. Toby didn't pay attention and flew to the floor. As Toby was getting up, he said to Aaarrrgghh. "Pfft! I've been by Jim's side since day one and what do I get?"

"Mmm… Got me, wingman." Aaarrrgghh said and Toby was happy to hear that. Toby then picked up a broom and started to spar with Aaarrrgghh again.

Back with Soul. They had finished attacking the dummies and Noah said to Seth as the dummies disappeared. "I have to say, fighting with just Gnome is going to be difficult."

"Yeah. While Gnome has high defense, and its attack isn't bad. Our speed is almost gone now. So I hope this will help us." Seth said before pulling out an ice-blue Soule Jewel. Noah then said to Seth. "What is this!"

"This is a new element for me."

"While I am glad you got a new Element Soul Jewel. But… Isn't Angor Rot just going to use it against us, right?"

"Yes, but this element is ice."

"And that means?"

"If my theory is correct, then this element will make Jim's sword very easy to break."

"Or it could give Angor Rot the ability to shoot ice at us. Did that thought cross your mind?" Noah said and before Seth could say anything, they heard Claire say. "Why won't this thing work?" Then the staff turned black, the Soul Jewel lit up again, and shot out a portal. The portal went flying at Soul. Soul dodged it, but it swallowed their new Soul Jewel. "NO!" Seth yelled as he looked at the portal. Claire then said to Seth as the portal closed. "Opps, sorry Seth."

"Sorry? Sorry!? Do you not realize what you have done?!"

"I made a portal and it swallowed your new Soul Jewel."

"Yes, but you have no idea how much of a loss you caused. While Beast Soul Jewel's are easy to find, and Fighter Soul Jewels are rare. Element Soul Jewels are next to impossible to find."

"Oh, I am very sorry."

"Oh, you will be." Seth said before switching Fighter with Blade. "Gnome Blade!" Soul's Driver said, and Soul got their sword, then attacked Claire with their sword. Claire blocked Soul's sword with her staff and she said to them. "What are you doing!?"

"Seth! Calm down!" Noah said as he tried to stop Seth, but Seth was too angry that Noah had no control over his body. Seth then said to Claire as Claire was still blocking Soul's attacks. "I am removing the source of all of our troubles!"

"How am I a source of trouble?" Claire said before she tried to kick Soul. Soul caught it and pushed Claire away. "You didn't protect my body, and now Angor Rot has control over my side of our powers. Heck the only reason Angor Rot is hunting us is because of you!" Seth said before he was going to hit her with their sword. Claire rolled out of the way and got up. She then attacked Soul and said as Soul blocked her attack with their sword. "Strickler is the one that freed Angor Rot, not me."

"Yeah, but it was you that convinced Jim to raid the Darklands for your brother. And knowing Jim he would free all of the babies inside the Darklands. And that means, if Strickler wants to protect himself and who knows how many changelings are left, he is going to need someone to kill us. Since he knows he can beat us by himself." Seth said before Noah said. "You're taking this too far, Seth!"

"Toby! A little help!" Claire said as she attacked Soul, and Soul blocked it with their sword. Toby then joined in, but he was helping Soul and not Claire. "Why are you helping them?" Claire said to Toby as she jumped away from them. Soul and Toby charged at Claire, and Toby said to her. "Because Seth is right. Plus you lost the Killstone."

"Excuse me, Mr. God King, you were the one in charge of getting the stone and you blew it!" Claire said before she started to actually fight, and even landed a hit onto Toby. "Uh, should we stop them?" Aaarrrgghh said to Draal. Draal thought for a moment and said. "Uh… nah. This is the Forge. Let them spar."

"And if Jim were here–" Claire said as Soul blocked her attack and Toby said as he attacked her. "But Jim's not here. You know where he is? Jim's getting chewed out right now by ghosts because of your butterfingers!"

And that was true. Jim was in a counseling session with the Ghost of the Trollhunter, and they weren't happy at all, for two reasons. One that they failed to get the Killstone, and the other reason was because Angor Rot not only had his power, but Soul's Element Sides Power too. "We'll get it back, and break Angor Rot's control over us. It's just two setbacks!" Jim said to the ghost, but that didn't change their minds, plus they called Jim naive. Kanjigar then appeared behind Jim and said. "They are right. You are too focused on your fight tomorrow, not the fight today."

"He's killed Trollunters before. That means some of you can help me." Jim said, turning to Kanjigar. Kanjigar sighed and then said to Jim. "We can't help you."

"What, why?"

"When Angor kills his prey… And he always does. Their souls are devoured."

"What does that mean?"

"Those defeated by his hand are gone forever. Even the Trollhunter that sealed him away, lost their own soul. We were once concerned your devotion would get your team killed. We now fear it is your team that will get you killed." Kanjigar said before he and the ghost returned Jim back to reality. When Jim returned he saw his friends fighting. Soul and Toby were winning this fight, and in Claire's frustration she started to charge up her staff. "Get down!" Jim said as he pushed Soul and Toby out of the way of a portal, which size was big enough to hit both of them. When Claire saw Jim, she dropped the staff and said as the portal disappeared. "Oh, my gosh, Jim! I-I didn't mean to!"

"Jim, she tried to kill us!" Toby said as he got up and Jim removed Soul's Driver. As Seth got up, Jim helped Noah up and said to all of them. "Stop! Enough! The council was right."

"What did my father say?" Draal said to Jim, and Jim said. "He said that we need to step it up. And that's not just coming from him. That's coming from me, too. Our task ahead just got harder. If we want all the stones, the path now goes through Angor Rot. And we all know what that means. Even the council doesn't know how to stop him. We all need to pull our weight and that goes for me, too. That means more training, working harder…"

"I'll do whatever it takes." Claire said as she picked up her staff and entered a fighting stance. Toby pushed past her and said. "Brown-noser. We'll do whatever it takes. But if the rookie here gets to rock a sweet weapon, I get to rock a sweet weapon, too!" Toby then went to a small pile of weapons, and after looking for a while. Toby found an orange crystal warhammer and knew that it was his weapon. Toby picked it, and was having a hard time trying to pick it up. Noah then said Toby. "I think that weapon is to heavy for you."

"What? No. It's not that heavy." Toby said as he was having a hard time even dragging the weapon to them. "Trollhunter, it's urgent!" Bagdwella yelled as she rushed into the Forge with a small box. Jim walked over to her and said. "What is it? Is everything okay?"

"I have a package I need delivered to my sister, Sagdwella! She lives under a trailer park in Oo-tah."

"You mean Utah?" Seth said as Bagdwella gave Jim the box's. Jim then said to her. "Wait a minute. You want me to mail something?"

"Your post office is more efficient than our carrier mice trolls. I suppose they don't eat the parcels either." Bagdwella said before Noah said. "No they don't."

"Good. Now Trollhunter. You're supposed to answer every call." Bagdwella said to Jim and Jim said to her. "I don't mail is what the Trollhunters had in mind."

"This is a call."

"Fine. Jim the mailman? Why not?"

"The address. Whatever you do, do not open it! I've got my eye on you." Bagdwella said as she gave Jim the address, and a little bit of a warning before she left. Everyone had a bad feeling about that box.

The next day, at school, Jim had the box's and Noah said to Jim. "Why didn't you just go to the post office this morning?"

"It was closed." Jim said as he placed the box in his locker. Clare then said to Jim. "So, what's in the box?"

"It doesn't matter. We're not gonna open it." Jim said and then Toby said to Clare. "Yeah, Claire, it doesn't matter." Toby then turned to Jim and said. "But aren't you curious, though? There could be, like, a tiny creature in there that can't breathe, Jimbo! Or an itty-bitty troll king whose little kingdom needs saving!"

"Or more likely it is a prank for Bagdwella sister, but what kind of prank I have no idea." Noah said and before Toby could say anything, they noticed the mole mascot. "Oh! Or my soulmate!" Toby said before Jim shut his locker and said to them. "Guys, it doesn't matter because, after school, I'm taking it straight to the post office. Easy win, for once."

"What? You think you or Noah are gonna win today, Lame Junior? The Touch-A-Truck-athon is mine." Steve said as he was walking past them and heard the last part of the conversation. Seth then said to Noah. "What is Steve talking about?"

"He's talking about that stupid competition for the kings and queen candidates."

"It's not stupid. It's the ultimate test of endurance, and no one can touch like me. Am I right, Claire?" Steve said as he pushed passed them aside and grabbed Claire's right hand. Claire pulled her hand away and said. "Ugh, in your dreams." Steve then imitated an explosion at Jim and Noah. Toby then said as Steve left them. "Aw, poor Steve. I think he's becoming unhinged."

"Same. Now, when is this Truck-athon?" Seth said before Jim said. "Oh, man, the Truck-athon today? That's gonna take all day!"

"Then let me deliver the package. How hard could it be?" Claire said before Seth said. "No, Toby and I will handle this."

"Actually, all three of you are going to handle this." Noah said and everyone turned to Noah. Jim then said to Noah. "Bagdwella wanted me to deliver it."

"Yes, but these three need to learn to work together. So here is the plan, Jim and I will try to win this Truck-athon, meanwhile the three of you will deliver the package." Noah said and then Toby said. "Perfect, that way you and Jim can focus on winning the Spring King."

"You really want them to be Spring King?" Seth said to Toby and Toby said. "Yes, because we can be cool."

"You mean, you want to be cool." Jim said to Toby and then Toby said to Jim. "Semantics. You already won the first challenge. If you ace this, you'll be a lock to be king. Then I'll be a duke. Win this and you won't have to worry about any more of these stupid things. It's a win-win."

"You said we needed to step up." Claire said to Jim. Jim then said to them. "Guys, troll mail… not what I meant."

"Yeah, but the three of them need to learn to work together, and it is better to work on their teamwork, that isn't a life or death mission." Noah said and after thinking for a few moments, Jim sighed and grabbed the box out of his locker. "Just remember, don't open the box." Jim said as he gave the box's to Seth. Toby took the box from Seth and said. "Don't worry, dude. Postmaster Toby and his assistants, Claire and Seth, will handle it with care." Toby then dropped the box as Jim gave Toby the address. Seth picked it up and said. "I'll hold on to this if you don't mind." Then Seth, Toby, and Claire left.

Shortly after that, the Truck-athon started. "King and queen nominees, approach the truck." Uhl said as all of the nominees were around Uhl's most prizes position, a white compact pickup truck. "Place your hands on the vehicle. Should you cease contact with it at any time, you will be eliminated." Uhl said as everyone touched the truck. "The Touch-A-Truck-athon begins!" Uhl said as they started the competition.

Meanwhile inside the school, Toby said to the others. "Okay, so right after fourth period, we go straight to the post office. Got the package?"

"In my backpack. Check." Seth said and then Seth said to Toby. "And you have the address?"

"Che— Un— Oh, no." Toby said as he was looking for the address. Claire then said to Toby. "You lost the address?"

"What? No! Of course not! You two don't happen to remember it, do you?" Toby said and they both gave Toby an angry look. "It's got to be here somewhere." Toby said as he started to look. Claire then said as she started to look too. "Look everywhere. I promised Jim!"

"I don't think you promised him?" Seth said to Claire before he started to search too. Claire then said to Seth. "It doesn't matter. Jim and Noah gave us the easiest mission and we already screwed it up?" Toby then took the box. "No!" Seth said as Toby opened the box. When the box was open it released a powerful whooshing sound. The sound mostly hit Toby, and Seht closed it. Seth then said to Toby. "Why would you open this?!"

"I was looking for the address."

"And you thought it was inside the box!?" Seth said, but then Claire stopped Seth and said to Toby. "Well, what was in it?"

"Nothing. Just a whoosh."

"What do you mean, "whoosh"?"

"The box was totally empty, but before Seth closed it, it was like… whoosh." Toby said and that last part was in slow motion. As Seth put the box away, Claire said. "That sounds really bad."

"Oh, look! The address was in my back pocket the whole time." Toby said as he finally found the address. Claire took the address and said. "Ugh! I'm holding onto this from now on. I'll meet you two here after class."

"Fine, see you then." Seth said as they all left, not knowing that the box held a curse, and Toby was the curse host.

Back at the Truck-athon, it was still in full swing, but the only one feeling the pressure was Mary, because she needed to use the restroom. "Giving up yet, Lame Junior?" Steve said to Jim and Jim said to Steve. "Hand on truck. Not that difficult."

"This isn't worth it!" Mary said before she let go of the truck and left. "Adios. You have been eliminated." Uhl said to Mary but she didn't care. Then Strickler walked by and said to Jim. "Mr. Lake, I've been meaning to speak with you. I received word from a mutual acquaintance, Mr. Rot. He said you have lost something rather valuable the other day."

"I'll get it back."

"Sure, you will. Oh, and I'm on my way to another lunch date with your mother. It's a shame you won't be able to join us. You don't happen to have a breath mint on you, do you?" Strickler said before he started to laugh. Jim then couldn't take it anymore. Jim took his hand off the truck, made a fist, and punched Strickler in the face so hard that Strickler fell down. Now this would have hurt Barbara too, but this was all in Jim's head, so Barbara was safe. Jim didn't get out of the daydream until Shannon said. "I have a breath mint." Shannon then took her hand off the truck and pulled out a mint from her pocket. Uhl then said to her. "Adios, Shannon. Darci wins for the girls." Shannon then felt stupid and left. As for Darci, she was very happy as she left too. Uhl then said to the guy. "For the boys, the game is still on." Strickler then took the mints from Shannon and left. Steve then said to Jim. "Ha! He's dating your mom? Whoa! Why didn't I think of that?"

"Shut up Steve." Noah said as he started daydreaming kicking Steve in the face to shut him up. Back in school, the curse started to take effect. Since Toby was the host of the curse, the curse started to make Toby float. Toby noticed it when he was starting to float out of his desk. No one noticed Toby floating, and Toby was able to hold onto his desk, so he didn't fly to the ceiling. Toby realized that the whooshing sound was the cause of the curse. When Toby's gravity returned to normal, he started to leave the classroom, but Janeth saw him leaving and said. "Where do you think you're going, Mr. Domzalski?"

"Uh… bathroom?" Toby said as he left. Once Toby was out of the classroom, he started to float again. Toby was able to reach his locker without being seen and said as he started to put stuff into his backpack. "Oh, yes, we'll deliver the package. We'll deliver the package." What a dumb idea!" Then Toby's backpack was full of stuff, enough that he wouldn't float. But one of Steve's friends walked by, and pushed Toby down. The bully left, but he had knocked Toby's backpack away and as Toby started to float, he couldn't reach his backpack. So Toby started to float and since he was outside, he was going into the sky.

In another class, Claire and Seth were in health class taught by Coach Lawrence, but soon saw Toby fly past the window. "Coach Lawrence, um, I need the hall pass. Girl problems."

"And I need to go too. Doctors appointment." Seth said and Lawrence let them both go. Outside, Seth grabbed Toby's Bat Phone from his backpack, and used it along with his own to grab Toby, who was holding on to the flagpole. As the Bat Phones brought Toby back down, Claire said to Toby. "Toby! What are you doing up there?"

"Just hanging out!" Toby said as they brought Toby down, before Jim and Noah saw them. They didn't see them, because Steve was trying to annoy Jim and Noah off the truck. Inside the school's courtyard, Claire said to Toby. "It was the whoosh, wasn't it?"

"Oh, this is all your fault! You were the one who wanted to deliver it!"

"Hey, Seth and you volunteered with me."

"Because you were gonna take all the glory!" Toby said and then Seth said to Claire. "And I didn't trust you."

"Me?! Toby's the one that is cursed."

"Yeah, but you would have opened it anyway."

"I wouldn't have!" Claire said to Seth and the two of them gave on another angry look. Seth turned away, and said. "Whatever! I'm going to get Jim and Noah."

"No! We can't tell Jim or Noah. Promise me, you won't tell them. They already think I'm useless." Toby said to them. Claire then said to Toby. "Toby, look at us. We are useless."

"Instead of insulting us, how about thinking of a way to get Toby un-cursed." Set said to Claire. Toby then had an idea, and said. "Maybe Blinky will know how to fix this!"

"Blinky? He's at Jim's house." Claire said and then the three of them left, with the Bat Phones helping control where Toby was floating.

At a local dinner, Strickler was on his date with Barbara. "So things have gotten better between you two?" Strickler said to Barbara, and then Barbara said to Strickler. "Yeah, he's been talking to the new guidance counselor about his father–"

"Guidance counselor?"

"Yes, the one you recently brought in. Mr. Blinky?" Barbara said as Strickler took a sip of his drink. Strickler was surprised to hear that and that caused him to choke on his drink. As Strickler was coughing to catch his breath again, Barbara said to him. "Are you okay?" Strickler motioned that he was fine, and then said after he cleared his throat. "Mr. Blinky?"

"I'm sorry. Here I am on a date, going on about Jim's father. I really don't know how to do these things."
"You're doing just fine." Strickler said as he grabbed her hand. Strickler was using her to protect himself from Jim and the twins, but he really did care for Barbara.

As for Claire, Seth, and Toby were still heading to Jim's house. "Whoa! Wait a sec!" Toby said to the others, causing them to stop. Seth then said to Toby. "What is it?"

"I think it's wearing off!" Toby said as he started to come back down. Once Toby was back on the ground, he said. "Nice! It just wore off." Then when Toby took a step, his body became so heavy that he was stuck on the ground, unable to move. Claire then said to Toby. "Toby, what's wrong?"

"Can't move. What's happening to me?" Toby said to Claire and Seth, and Seth said. "If I had to guess. The whoosh was a curse that made your gravity super light or super heavy without warning."

"That seems accurate." Toby said as Claire looked around for something to help Toby move. Claire found an old red wagon. As Claire and Seth got Toby onto the wagon, they started to pull Toby to Jim's house. "Toby, no offense, but you have a real weight problem." Claire said to Toby and Toby said to Claire. "Not funny."

"Is that all you can do? Bad jokes?" Seth said and that caused Claire to stop. "Alright, that's enough!" Claire said to Seth. Seth stopped too, and said to her. "What are you going to complain about now?"

"That! Your attitude! Ever since we got back you have treated me like I am an enemy?"

"To me you are an enemy."

"Excuse me!?" Claire said as Toby started to float away. However, since Claire and Seth were still fighting, they didn't see Toby floating away. As Bat Phones tried to help Toby, but weren't very affected anymore, and Seth said to Claire. "You heard me!"

"How am I an enemy?! I've done nothing to you."

"And that is the problem! You didn't protect my body, and now Anger Rot has my side of Soul's power. And that means Anger Rot is now more powerful than ever."

"And how was I going to know that Anger Rot would do that to you? You're being unfair."

"Unfair? Unfair!? Let me tell you what's unfair. I am going to lose my brother to save yours."

"What?" Claire said as her anger disappeared. Seth turned around and Claire said to him. "Is that why you are against us going to the Darklands? Because you think Noah will die there?"

"Yes."

"Why would you think that?"

"Because I know Noah. Back at Gatto's Keep, it didn't surprise me that he was willing to jump inside Gatto's mouth, and save Toby and Blinky. So if we are going to the Darklands, and something happens that requires one of us to die. I know Noah will make that sacrifice, because that is who he is. And while you may have lost a brother, you still have your mom and dad. Noah is all the family I have left." Seth said as he started to cry. Claire felt sad and said. "I didn't know that I was causing you such pain. I just wanted to find my baby brother."

"I know. And that is why I haven't tried to stop Jim or Noah. But after everything that has happened with Anger Rot, I can't help but think of the worst case scenarios." Seth said as he wiped away the tears. Seth then turned to Claire, who said to Seth. "Listen. I'm sorry for causing you all this strife. But, I'll make you this promise. I will do everything in my power to make sure our brothers make it out of the Darklands in one piece. Ok?" Claire then extended her right hand to Seth. Seth was hesitant, because he didn't know if she would keep that promise, but chose to take Claire's hand. While they would still need time to trust one another, they would stop fighting and start working together. "Oh? And that reminds me. Toby? We need…? Where did he go?" Claire said as they both turned to the wagon and saw that Toby was gone. Both of them started to panic and started to look for Toby, but they missed seeing that the wagon started to float too.

Back at the Truck-athon, four hours had passed, and Uhl was gone to get some more coffee. So they were left all alone. Steve then punched Jim and Noah. "Seriously?" Jim said to Steve, and Steve said. "My hand hasn't left the truck." Steve then tried to punch them again, but Noah caught it and pushed it back. "You know this isn't time for your petty grudge."

"No, it is the perfect time!" Steve said as he tried to punch them. Jim and Noah dodged it, and tried to move away from Steve. Steve chased after them, and soon as he got Jim, the two of them started to fight on the hood of the car.

Back with the others, the Bat Phones were trying to help Toby, but the curse effect had increased and they couldn't stop Toby from rising. "This isn't happening!" Toby said as he was floating higher. On the ground, Claire and Seth couldn't find Toby, so Claire called Toby. Toby's Bat Phone flew to Toby's face and showed that Claire was calling him. "Claire, it's you!" Toby said as his Bat Phone answered the call. Claire put her phone on speaker, and Seth said throw it. "I'm here too!"

"Toby, you drifted away! Where the heck are you?" Claire said to Toby. Toby then said to them. "I'm right above your house, Claire!"

"I see you!" Seth said as they chased after Toby. "This is it. This is how I go out. I had so much left to do. So many taco trucks I never ate at." Toby said as he started to fly over a bridge, and the effect took him high into the air. Lucky for him, Claire and Seth found a kite and were able to get it to Toby. "Grab it already!" Claire said to Toby, as she was holding the kite string. Once Toby grabbed it, Claire didn't move and Seth said to her. "Why are you not reeling him in?"

"Not until we have a serious conversation!"

"Wasn't ours enough?"

"No!" Claire said to Seth, before Toby said to Claire. "What the heck? Real me in, reel me in!"

"Say it."

"Say what?"

"I'm not bringing you down until you admit you've been a butt to me all day. You're jealous of me being close to Jim!"

"Claire! I'm sorry, okay? Come on!"

"Admit it! You've been a total butt!" Claire said and after Toby grunted a little, he said to her. "Okay, you're right, I am a butt. It's just for so long, it was the Jim and Toby show, you know? And even after Noah and Seth appeared it still felt like that. But then you joined the group, this cool, smart girl, who's great at everything and is really pretty, and now you have this super rad shadow staff, and what do I have? I've got weight problems." Claire then brought Toby down, and as Seth and her took a hand, Claire said to Toby. "Toby, you and Jim are a dynamic duo, like Noah and Seth. I can never change that."

"Hoo! I was so afraid you were gonna be mad at me, and we were never gonna be friends again, and it was just all these bad things I didn't want to think about." Toby said not noticing that all of them were starting to float. "Toby, I think the curse is spreading." Claire said as Toby finally noticed that the three of them were floating. Toby then said in a panic. "Oh, no! What do we do? What do we do?"

"Let's just get to Jim's house. Blinky will know what to do." Claire said as they started to swim motions to Jim's house.

Back at the Truck-athon, Jim and Steve were still fighting. "Ok, enough guys." Noah said as he tried to stop them, but the moment they slide off the hood, they were going to crash into Noah. Noah, on instinct, moved out of view. Steve thought Noah was out and said while laughed. "Noah's gone. Looks like it's just you and me now, buttsnack!" Steve started to chase Jim again, and Jim said to Steve. "Steve, stop this!"

"Why couldn't you let me win this? But then you never do, do you?"

"What are you talking about?"

"People respected me. And you broke my face in front of everyone. I got benched from the team and the play. And now you got Claire. I liked my life. You've threatened everything I know, turned my world upside down. And you know what the worst part is? I.. I'm intimidated by you, Jim."

"What? Steve, I don't know what to say, man. I didn't know. I do care."

"Yeah, right." Steve said not believing Jim. Jim sighed and then said. "You know what? Here. Look. You win." Jim then took his hand off the truck. Steve then laughed and said. "I can't believe you fell for it!" Steve then took off his hand and did a victory dance. Jim then said to Steve. "Steve, are you nuts?"

"Who's the loser now, loser?"

"You are." Noah said and Steve turned to see that Noah still had his hand on the truck. As Steve realized that he took his hand off the truck, Uhl, who was deeply worried about his truck, returned, and after checking out his truck, Uhl said to everyone. "It seems we have a winner. Noah is the champion of the Touch-A-Truck-athon." Steve couldn't believe it and ran away, with his mind breaking even more now. After Noah moved away from the truck, he said to Jim. "So, what to head to Trollmarket and train some more?"

"What about the package?"

"I'm sure Seth, Toby, and Claire have it all under control." Noah said as he started to walk to Trollmarket. Jim followed, but not one of them knew the chaos that was happening around Seth, Toby, and Claire.

Back at Jim's house, Draal was holding the shadow staff, folded into the handle but with the Soul Jewel sticking out, and was talking with Blinky. "She nearly took my head off with the shadow staff. The chubby one's just as bad. And the Rider let his emotion blind him." Draal said to Blinky and Blinky said. "They're just human whelps after all. Hopefully, they'll get their acts together soon enough."

"Blinky, you gotta help us!" Toby yelled as they finally reached Jim's house. Blinky gasped and ran to them. "What in blue blazes?" Blinky said as he saw all three of them floating on the ceiling. Seth then said to Blinky. "We're cursed Blinky!"

"What? How!?" Blinky said and then Claire said. "Toby opened Bagdwella's box. Now we're floating and sinking. And it's getting worse! What's happening?" Before Blinky could say anything, the curse started to affect everything in the house and Blinky. In all of the chaos, the box's fell out of Seth's backpack. Blinky saw it and said as he grabbed it. "A curse box! Why would you be in possession of such a dangerous gift?"

"Bagdwella wanted Jim to deliver it, but he and Noah were busy. So we took the job. Toby then opened it, and now all of us are cursed!" Seth said to Blinky, and then Toby said to Blinky and the others. "I'm super sorry! Blinky, can you please turn this off?"

"A curse cannot be broken." Blinky said and then Seth said. "Then how do we fix this?!"

"A curse can only be passed on, or it will grow stronger by the minute." Blinky said and then Seth said. "Isn't there any way to pass it on?"

"Yes. Vendel can contain the curse. We must get to Vendel." Blinky said and then Toby said. "But how? We'll never get to Trollmarket." Then the whole house started to shake. "Oh, no! The curse is spreading to the house!" Claire said and Blinky said. "We must get to Vendel!"

"What foolishness is this?" Draal said as he came up, but was affected by the curse right away. As Draal was floating, he let go of the shadow staff. Toby saw it and grabbed it. Toby then said as he threw it to Claire. "Claire, use your shadow staff! You can get us to Vendel!"

"But I can't!" Claire said as she caught it. "I can open a portal that's big enough for a baby mouse or an olive, remember?" Claire said and then Blinky said to her. "You must think of Vendel. Clear your mind. Think of nothing but him!" Claire unfolded the shadow staff, and started to think hard about Vendel, but it still wasn't working. "I can't!" Claire said and then Seth said. "You made a portal, but what emotion did you use?" Seth then remembered that Claire was angry and frustrated before the staff turned black and the Soul Jewel let up. Seth got an idea and said. "Well of course you can't use it, after all your only skill is bad jokes."

"What are you talking about!" Claire said getting a little angry, which started to turn the staff black and the Soul Jewel lit up a little. The others realized what Claire needed and Toby said to her. "Hey, Claire! Don't let us down like you did with the Killstone, remember? You lost it!"

"What?" Claire said, but that made her confused, not angry. Toby then said to her. "You know, I don't think you're ready to be a Kamen Hunter. I really don't." Toby said as the whole house started to float. Seth then said to her. "And that staff is proof. You can't wield it, and now we are going to float high into the sky with this house, then crash hard with this house! Am I right guys?"

"Um… indeed! Yes!" Blinky said and Draal nodded yes. Toby then said to Claire. "And you are a terrible friend?"

"Because friends don't let friends down, like you did with the killstone!"

"Why are you guys such a butt again?" Claire said as she started to get mad. And because of her anger the shadow staff was now black and the Soul Jewel was ablaze. Seth then said to Claire. "Claire, look at the staff!" Claire then noticed the shadow staff was black and the Soul Jewel was lit. Seth then said to her. "You can use it now, so open a portal to Vendel, now please!"

"Yes, and thank you!" Claire said and started to think of Vendel. It still took some effort, but Claire was able to use her staff to make a path right to Vendel, who was enjoying a nice drink and reading a lovely book in Trollmarket's cafe. Vendel was surprised to see the portal, more so when Claire appeared out of it and said extending her hand. "Vendel! Pull us through!" Vendel then pulled her into Trollmarket, with the others holding onto her. Once all of them were at Trollmarket, Jim's house returned to normal, but now the curse was in Trollmarket. As Vendel started to float too, Claire said looking at her staff. "I did it? I did it!"

"Nice job, and sorry about what we said, but anger and frustration are how you use that thing." Seth said to Claire and Claire said to Seth. "I understand."

"What did you do now, Blinkous?" Vendel said to Blinky and Blinky said to Vendel. "Don't look down at me. It's Tobias who is cursed."

"I'll apologize a million times later, but can you stop this?" Toby said to Vendel and Vendel said. "Of course, but I need a vessel to trap the curse."

"Quick! Get something! Anything!" Claire said before Toby said. "Wait, not anything! I know just the thing." A few moments later, Vendel was able to place the curse into Toby's hammer. Because of the curse, Toby could now wield the hammer, because it was light as a feather now, plus it gained a flame like effect on the crystal part. "Awesome sauce!" Toby said as he was spinning his hammer, but he lost his grip and it started to float away. Seth caught it, after giving Claire a Purple Bat Phone, and said to Toby. "Your gravity hammer is cool, but you need to work on that grip." Toby then took it back and said to Seth and Claire. "It's a warhammer. Now, we both have sweet weapons. I was born to wield the warhammer." Then Toby and Claire started to spare, and Blinky said. "The curse appears to be stable."

"Sort of." Aaarrrgghh said as Toby lost his grip again. Then Jim and Noah arrived and Jim said. "They look pretty good. Any problems mailing the package?"

"Well…" Seth said, but Vendel stopped him and said. "Your team did an excellent job. Your allies are getting stronger. In time, a lot of time, they may actually be… useful."

"Useful." It's a start." Jim said and then Noah said, pulling out the Driver. "Jim, should we join them?"

"Let's." Jim said as they both transformed, which Soul being in Gnome Blade form, and they both joined the match. "Since when could you do that with a hammer, Tobes?" Jim said to Toby, as he blocked one of Toby's attacks. "Yah! Hello? It's a warhammer. Respect it, please." Toby said before Claire said as she attacked him. "Be quick on your feet!" For the rest of the day the five of them would spare, and they did have fun with one another.

Meanwhile in the Shadow Dimension, the fox that helped Claire had found the ice Soul Jewel that Claire accidently sent to the Shadow Dimension. The fox took it and placed it around its waist and then flew away with it. What the fox wanted with the ice Soul Jewel is a complete unknown for right now.

And done, sorry for the very long post, but I've been busy with my life and new fanfiction. I am sorry for the people that like this story that this post was longer than the others. Now I hope you like it and I hope to see you next time.
