AN. So if I didn't procrastinate then this should come out 3/12/25, but if it comes out later then I do apologize. Also this chapter contains the first fight scene, so if the scene turns out to be shit I'm sorry. With that being said enjoy this chapter.

Once team seven reached the tower they all took in a breath.

"I knew the tower was big, but holy shit.."

"Menma you need to stop cursing so much," Susuke stated in an annoyed tone.

"Shut the fuck up emo boy!" Menma shouted out loud. "Menma you're too loud other people are going to hear you," Sasuke said, putting a hand on his forehead.

"Hey Naruto, funny seeing you here."

They turned around to see who said that. Menma stared at him.

"Kabuto!" Naruto shouted out at the newcomer. "Kabuto?" Menma looked at him, his ashy grey hair and his round glasses looked so familiar. Menma just couldn't figure out where she knew those features from.

"How do you know Naruto" Menma said while facing her Bo staff at him.

"Whoa, I'm not here to take your scrolls. I was looking for my teammates when I happened to see you guys, so decided to say hi." Kabuto said with a smile on his face.

"That still doesn't explain why or how you know Naruto."

"Menma this is what happens when you are late," Susuke said eyeing Kabuto suspiciously.

"How does 'being late' affect how you guys know him."

"When you were 'running late' Kabuto introduced himself, and showed us information about the other genin participating." Just when Susuke had finished his speech Naruto spoke to Menma. "Don't worry Menma Kabuto's a friend, he's not gonna steal the scrolls or hurt us."

"If you say so.." Menma was still eyeing Kabuto just something about him looked so familiar. It was like she'd seen him before, but not at the same time. It felt like she was getting crazy déjà vu just from looking at Kabuto.

"Kabuto do you want us to help you find your team?" Sakura's voice startled Menma out of her thoughts.

"Thank you for the offer, but I don't fellow leaf- nin's to get hurt because of me." Kabuto's voice sounded sincere but Memna knew something was off.

"Ok then, leave if all you wanted to say was hi."

"Menma! Don't be so rude" Sakura yelled at her. "I'm sorry for how she's been acting, Menma is not very good with meeting new people."

"Fuck off you-"Just then Naruto cut her off "Menma don't be mean to Sakura-Chan!" Naruto turned back to Kabuto. "Well, I guess we'll see you later," Naruto said while Menma was giving Kabuto a dirty look.

"Menma stop looking at him like that, he's not our enemy." "Sure emo boy sure," Menma said sarcastically. Susuke sighed heavily, "Let's just go."

"Fine." Menma started into the town. Soon the rest of team seven followed. "Bye Kabuto!"

As the team walked away they all missed the look Kabuto was giving Menma. "So it is her, thought she would've died by now." With that Kabuto's turned around, and walked away.

Once team seven walked into the tower they all saw a message. (Insert the message). "So does this mean we open the scroll?" Naruto looked at all of them.

"No! We were told not to open them!" Sakura said skepticism in her voice. "But that psychopath said not to open them in the forest. She said nothing about the tower." Menma said pulling out both scrolls. "Menma if you're wrong" Susuke threatened. "Yeah yeah shut emo boy." Once Menma opened both scrolls, then smoke started flowing out of the scrolls.

"Ahh!" Menma dropped both scrolls. Then once the smoke cleared the academy instructor Iruka Umino stood in place of the smoke. "Hey, I didn't expect to see you guys this quick."

"Are you saying you didn't believe in us!" "Menma stop being so rude!" Sakura shouted at Menma. "Iruka sensei why are you here?" Naruto asked him.

"I'm just here to tell you, you guys have passed the second stage of the chunin exams!" Iruka said with a big grin on his face.

"Fuck yeah!"

"Stop cursing!" Both Sasuke and Sakura yelled at Menma. "Ok damn.."

After Iruka gave a brief speech he told them. "Your guy's room is on the 3 floors to the right." Iruka handed Susuke a key. "I gotta go I'll see you guys later." With Iruka's body flickered. Out of the tower.

Once team seven made it to their room Menma immediately went to the bathroom.

"Menma what are you doing?" Sasuke asked her. "I'm gonna take a shower obviously"

"I'm gonna go and explore the tower" With that Naruto left the room.

Timeskip

After the final day of the second exam was up, the teams in the tower were all gathered In the arena-type room.

While the third Hokage was giving his speech Menma was looking around the arena. On each side of the arena, there were big ledges with railing on the edge. The most obvious thing was the big stone statue of two hands doing the ram symbol.

When the third Hokage finished his speech, a big screen started flashing the names of the participants. Then it finally landed on, "Can Menma Uzumaki and Kabuto Yakushi stay here, and everyone else get to the stands."

Everyone else left the floor and went to the stands. "Good luck Menma!" Naruto shouted at her giving her a big grin.

"Begin!"

Menma ran straight at Kabuto brought out her Bostaff, and swung it at him. Kabuto ducked down to dodge and took out a kunai. 'Orochimaru-sama told me to see how far Menma has come.' He let a grin form on his face. 'I'll see firsthand how strong Menma is.' He enhanced the Kunai with his chakra, and and swung the kunai at her. Menma stepped back but I little cut formed on her stomach.

"Is that all you have Menma? I would've thought you'd be strong-." Before he could finish his sentence. Menma launched her chakra chains at him, while they headed towards Kabuto she made five shadow clones to surround him.

Kabuto jumped towards the felling only to have Menma's shadow clones hit his chest. Making him fall back down.

"Heh, I guess you're better than I thought." He activated his chakra blade and rushed toward Menma. He swung his blades at her aiming for her head. Menma was able to dodge just in time so that she didn't get her head chopped off. Menma winded her Bo staff back aiming for Kabuto's chest. Kabuto grabbed Menma's staff with his hand and used his strength to swing Menma towards the wall. A shadow clone went in between Menma and cushioned her fall.

'Hmm.. She had gotten stronger' Orochimaru thought as he looked at the fight in front of him. 'But' he looked at Susuke 'I want to see what he can do with the the gift I gave him.' Orochimaru chuckled to himself. 'I'll just have to wait and see.'

Menma got up off the ground her back aching. 'I'll just have to change my strategy.' Menma took out a scroll and unraveled it. "Try avoiding this asshole!" She slammed her hand on the scroll, a wave of water pouring out.

Kabuto was surprised, but he quickly dodged the attack and headed straight towards Menma. She was too focused on the scroll to notice that Kabuto was behind her.

Kabuto swung his hand to the back of Menma's neck, and before she knew it she was on the ground barely conscious.

Kabuto Yakushi wins. That was the last thing she heard before she was engulfed in darkness

AN So how was it? The reason I didn't have any outer dialogue except for Orochimaru was because it would be to much for me to handle. I didn't believe I could've written the scene as good. Anyway I'll see y'all next week!
