In the top of the Flying Battery, Tails and Tikal are hearing banging noises as they're worried about their friends, making Tails and Tikal look into the control room.
As Tails looks into the screen, Tikal is feeling an abnormal amount of chaos energy coming from above and below, even Tails can feel the violent energy in him.
"Ngh…" Tails grunted.
"It's okay, Tails. I'm sure Sonic is strong enough to stop Knuckles." Tikal lifts Tails up while helping him stand up and resist the pain.
"Yeah. I hope." Tails nods as he smiles while standing on his feet.
Before Tails continues, Tikal is seeing a tall human man in a red top raising his net behind Tails himself.
"Tails!" Tikal shrieks while warning Tails.
"Huh? Wah!?" Dodging, Tails is seeing Eggman as Eggman misses his fishing for Tails. "Eggman!?"
"So you're Eggman. What did you do to Knuckles!?" Tikal growls while Tails defends her from Eggman's clutches.
"Hmph! That echidna is fine. He's dealing with the little blue rat. Since you two are here to fight, prepare yourselves for I will blow you two to smithereens!" Eggman presses the button, trapping both Tails and Tikal behind the barrier as the blue light above them is glowing.
"Uh oh!" Tails knew that they're screwed.
"Tails! We need to run!" Tikal yells while grabbing Tails' wrist and runs until a laser fires the floor, causing a large hole as the duo shrieks.
Below the room, Sonic and Super Knuckles are throwing hands as Sonic blocks Knuckles' fists while feeling tired.
"Dang it…" Sonic pants as he sees Knuckles punching his own fists, knowing that he's finished.
"Any last words, Sonic?" Knuckles asks while raising his fist.
"Heh. You're pretty good. I'm sure Tania pulls up a good fight when she fights you." Sonic chuckles, making Knuckles smirk and kneel in front of him.
"When we spar, I'll make sure if she's as tough as you are."
Before Knuckles finishes Sonic off, Knuckles is alerted to push Sonic as the laser blasts downwards onto Knuckles' body, causing him to scream.
"Knuckles!" Sonic shouts, realising that Knuckles is never a bad person as he sees some humanity in an echidna like Knuckles.
As the laser stops, the chaos emeralds fall to the floor as Knuckles' fur turns back to red, making Sonic pick them all up and then look at Knuckles with concern.
With Sonic leaving while running towards where the laser comes from, Knuckles grunts as he pushes himself up as he stands and shakes his head.
"No. He's still not ready… I need to stop him." Knuckles leaps outside and then sinks his claws into the Flying Battery and climbs up in order to reach the control room.
With Amy struggling through the corridor as the alarm blares, Amy is holding her arm that still has a bullet wound from earlier, making her lean onto the wall while trying to reach the control room.
Appearing, Sonic slides while turning towards Amy and catches her from collapsing.
"Amy, what's going on?" Sonic asks and then stops as he hears another explosion noise from the nearest room.
"Sonic. I found out about Tania. One of Eggman's robots is defending her and now we lost him. But I can't let him see you." Amy said while panting and grunting as Sonic held Amy's hand.
Sonic understands as he nods, knowing what Amy encountered might be a threat to him.
Sonic then picks Amy up while walking towards the control room.
"Hang in there, buddy." Sonic is hoping for Tails to succeed in stopping Eggman's invasion of other islands.
As Sonic and Amy enter the control room, Tails jumps backwards as he and Tikal are running towards Sonic and Amy.
"Sonic!" Tails cheers while holding Sonic's arms.
"Sonic, did you get the emeralds?" Tikal asks while creating a barrier of chaos energy.
"Yeah. It looks like Knuckles is also attacked by Eggman's funky looking ship." Sonic answers while rubbing his nuzzle with his finger.
A bang has Team Sonic and Tikal jumping as they come across a spiky Egg Mobile with large arms as Eggman chuckles inside of it.
"Well look who's arrived at my main event, Sonic the Hedgehog!" Eggman's sinister grin widens as he finally gets to encounter Sonic.
"Eggman. It looks like you're finished. No badniks, no teammates, nothing. Just you and us." Sonic punches his own palm while grinning out of mockery.
"I may have no one left, but this time it's phase 3." Eggman raises his finger, knowing how to counter Sonic's advantages.
"Phase 3?" Tails and Amy are confused as they look at each other.
"What do you mean phase 3?" Tikal asks while staying cautious.
"Simple, my female echidna, phase 1 is to bring in alliances in order to take the chaos emeralds from Sonic. Then Phase 2 is to gather my allies in order to surround the Master Emerald as a way to get my hands on it. Phase 2.5 is where we're at and it's to take over South Island and Westside Island, since you ruined everything." Eggman reveals both phases, but the 3rd one is where Eggman is heading to.
"What does that mean?" Tails is confused about Eggman's dark plans as Eggman's mech raises its arms.
"I gathered all the research on the time stones and the lampposts that I was able to replicate with you, Sonic and Knuckles' Chaos Control. Taking some of Knuckles' blood samples as the chaos energy affects one's cells. To think that Sonic, Tails and Knuckles are different in their power to the point that they're enhanced by the chaos emeralds. They can feel the power, they can harness the power, they wish for power."
"I still don't get it…" Tails is finding it hard to follow as Sonic and Amy are confused as well.
"In our language." Amy is waiting for an answer.
Tikal is left shocked that Eggman has worked the hardest to create a new time paradox as a way to do something about the past and future.
"Eggman's about to go to the past. He's reshaping history in order to get what he wants."
"Ding ding ding ding! You are correct, Miss Echidna! That's right, once I do what Breezie did, there's nothing you can stop me. Not even you, Nicky. Your sister will never be saved, your Meg will never see you again and you will always be Nicky, the weakest hedgehog that'll never be the fairytale he wishes to be." Eggman finally reveals the truth and his final plan.
This causes Sonic to gasp out of shock, hearing what Eggman is going to do to his past.
That means Sally, Bunnie, Johnny, Tekno, Tails and Nicole will never encounter him, Tania will forever become a badnik along with Elias and Megan, the Kingdom of Acorn as well as Westside Island will fall and Amy, Miss Wing and others will no longer see Nicky as the Nicky they'll know and love.
What's worse, Meg is the mark for Sonic's change as Sonic approaches Eggman with a shocked expression.
"Y- You wouldn't…"
"No way… That means I'll be…" Tails is having flashbacks of being bullied by those that called him Tails, making him crouch down and hold his head in fear.
"No! I won't let you! That means Nicky will…" Amy fears that Sonic is going to disappear for the rest of her life.
"Exactly! That'll mean one thing, Sonic… Where will your family be going?" Eggman asks with a mocking tone, pushing Sonic to his limit.
This causes the chaos emeralds to release out of Sonic, causing him to flash into a golden furred hedgehog and then boost with desperation.
"Sonic! Don't!" Tikal warned.
A crash has Eggman exclaimed as his Egg Mobile spins and then blocks Super Sonic's punches.
"I won't let you do this! Stop it, Eggman!" Sonic shouts until his fur flickers black as Sonic exclaims.
"Heh." Eggman finally pushes Sonic and fires missiles as Tails, Amy are shrieking while Tikal blocks them from explosions.
"Sonic!" Tails and Amy yell as they see Eggman in front of the trio.
"Allow me to introduce you to my latest creation: Big Arms. Now I'll be off! Later haters!" Eggman's Big Arms slaps the past lamppost as it controls the time, making Eggman head towards the time portal as he flies backwards.
Finally, Eggman is gone.
"NO!" Tikal screamed, only for her to yell as her body glitched by a time paradox.
"Tikal!" Amy shrieks while holding Tikal.
"This is bad. Eggman is starting to alter history. If we don't stop him, then…" Tails can tell what's going to happen to him and his friends outside of Angel Island.
"We'll forget about him… Not like this…" Amy is now in a state of panic, realising that if she forgets Sonic, then that'll mean Nicky's face is going to disappear from her memory.
"Ugh… In the end… We lost." Tikal croaks while holding Amy's hand.
"No." Super Sonic stands straight up as he glares forward.
"Wait, you're going to do this all by yourself?" Tails asks with worry.
Sonic nods, making Tikal sit up while grunting.
"Sonic, your chaos energy is overflowing with negative energy. If you keep this up, then you'll no longer be yourself again. You'll be a shell of your former self as a monster." Tikal warned, much to Tails and Amy's fright.
"Sonic…" Amy gasped.
"It's okay. It's the risk I'm willing to take. Tails, Amy, I'll be right back." Super Sonic salutes while waving and then crawls like an Olympic athlete.
Tails is willing to say it as Sonic is about to save them, especially someone very important to him as a way to stop Eggman once and for all.
"Ready, Tails?" Sonic asks with a wider grin.
Tails nods and then takes a deep breath.
"CHAOS CONTROL!" Sonic and Tails yelled, leading to Sonic vanishing into a golden wind with feathers dropping.
"Tails, will Sonic be okay like this?" Amy asked with worry.
"I don't know. Tikal, let's get out of here." Tails said while pulling Tikal up to carry her.
"I'm afraid this is where you kids go forth. You need to find Knuckles and convince him to help you two." Tikal giggles while fading.
"Tikal!" Amy tries to get Tikal to stay, only for Tikal to close her eyes.
"Tails, Amy… Please… Save him…" Tikal is now gone, pleading for them to help Knuckles and secure the Master Emerald.
Now they're all alone as the Flying Battery is falling.
"Let's get out of here. I hope Tania's nearby." Tails said while looking at the exit.
"I hope." Amy agreed.
"Of course. We're heading to my place." Knuckles appears while standing in front of Tails and Amy.
"Knuckles!?" Amy is surprised that Knuckles is there, making him smirk.
"In the flesh. So where's Sonic?" Knuckles asked.
"I'll explain later, take us to Tania." Tails pleads while standing up.
Knuckles is silent, knowing Eggman's airship is going in pieces as Knuckles himself grabs Tails and Amy's hands.
"Let's go." Knuckles drags the duo as they exclaim, making them rush towards the exit.
Afterwards, Knuckles boots the exit as Tails and Amy scream while falling into a snow mountain.
In the end, a massive explosion causes an avalanche to come out and get Knuckles, Tails and Amy.
With Knuckles looking at the golden light in the sky, he sighs and then focuses on getting out of the Ice Cap with a couple of children.

Super Sonic is diving into a Chaos Control portal as he finds Big Arms searching for the point in time, making Eggman exclaims.
"Sonic!? But how!?"
"I got you, Egghead!" Sonic spin dashes into a golden spiky ball while charging towards Big Arms.
With Big Arms grabbing a golden ball, Eggman grunts as Sonic and Eggman throw hands, making Sonic dive kick as Eggman uses Big Arms to fire as many missiles as he could from Sonic's interference.
With the missiles being kicked and punched, Sonic dashes down as he yells "EGGMAN!"
"You persistent little pincushion! Why won't you die already!" Eggman yells while spinning as Big Arms is heading towards Sonic like a helicopter blade. "You've been a hindrance to my work from the very beginning!"
"Oh yeah! This is for the Hedgehog Town you trashed!" Super Sonic replies by swinging his fist at Big Arms as one arm is smashed to pieces.
"Why you!" Eggman sends out more and more missiles with Super Sonic dodging.
This causes Sonic's body to glitch.
"What the!?"
It's not just Sonic, but Eggman as well.
"What's happening to me!?" Eggman exclaimed.
"Not yet!" Sonic yelled as he dived towards Eggman.
"I'm not finished! Come here!" Eggman yelled as he swung his robot's remaining fist.
As a flash happened, Sonic and Eggman disappeared into nothingness, making the time world quieter.
Where have they gone?
Their separated journeys of the past begin.
