Never ending story

Hi, It's me again. This is chapter six. I'll try to make it longer but that's it. Have a good day.
Chapter 6
It's just a dream.
There's no way in hell Clove, the female career tribute, has fallen asleep in my arms. Yeah, no way.
At the time I was counting Cato's footsteps getting quieter and quieter when I felt her relax in my presence.
"Katniss", I barely heard her whisper my name with such vulnerability lacing it. She sounded tired and restrained which worried me a lot.
"Yes Clove", I murmured not wanting to draw much attention to my concerned tone. She's her own person, she doesn't need me.
"I just wanted to say that I lo" Before she could finish her sentence she fell asleep. She clinged onto me as If she was seeking safety. For a career she's cute. Well even if she weren't a career she'd still be cute. Wait…
I stayed with her looking at her like she's the most beautiful thing. She looked effortlessly beautiful yet somehow scary and dangerous. I tried pushing the thoughts about the games out of my head but to no avail. She'll have to die for someone else to live. There can be only one victor. It has to be me…
A loud thud could be heard from the outside.
Someone murmured profanity and then walked away. I hoped this didn't wake up my small sleeping career but hope was never on my side.
"Why didn't you wake me up?", she asked, clearly confused as to why I let her stay in my arms. Truth to be told I don't know. I'm selfish and alone but I guess it's nice having someone.
In response I just shrugged and closed my eyes. She's a career Katniss. A career. She's here to kill. You especially.
"Look Kat", she began talking but I wasn't listening. I knew this all too well. In mere seconds she'll abandon me just like everyone else. I prepared myself for rejection and abandonment but it never came.
"What I, uhm, want to say is that I, wait no that's not good." She sighed but then continued. "I am really grateful for everything you did but I have to go back to Ken, uh, I mean Cato. Yes, that's right." She looked pleased with herself. I let it go. I let her go.
Carefully she opened the door and as I was about to sob my soul out thinking she's finally gone, she startled me by saying. "Meet me on the roof tonight." In a blink of an eye she was gone.
…
"Wanna tell me where you were the entire morning Katniss?" Peeta asked me. He was sitting on my bed reading some ridiculous capitol magazine. He's not very good at prying questions. Yep
"Peeta", I trailed of not really knowing what to say. I have very few options.
1.I was with that deadly and also cute career. Also she's a girl.
2.I was doin' yo mom.
3.I was transforming into werewolf. What about you?
Nah.
"Is something bothering you Peeta? Did Haymitch say no to your proposal? I swear you have heart eyes for him." I finished making Peeta blush. Out of embarrassment or truth I'll never know.
He got up not bothering to even look at me and then slammed the door. Finally
I went to sleep after that. I was a bit conflicted when Clove started showing in my dreams, but other than that, it was perfect. Not that I mind seeing Clove in my dreams. Definitely not.
…
"You told Peeta about our marriage", Haymitch stated when he saw me come out of my room. I honestly don't know who annoys me more. I decided to return the favor.
"Hey Gaymitch", I said to him in a mocking tone. I'm not usually rude but that man is getting on my nerves. All he ever does is drink, drink and wait. Did I mention drink?
"Look sweetie you ain't gonna get sponsors with being you."
"What do you mean sweetie?" I mocked him once again.
He started uncontrollably laughing until he said "You have a great sense of humor Katniss. I'll give you that. He wiped the tears off his face and continued. "But that's not gonna keep you alive for much longer." With that he left me all alone. What's with people always leaving me?
…
(I skipped to the part where our lovebirds meet at the roof) Hehe
I'm waiting for Clove sitting like a duck. I hope she's okay. I haven't heard from her all day. She said she was going back to Cato. I hope she's alive.
"Hey Kat", a voice behind me said. I would've recognized it anywhere but this, this doesn't sound like her. Something's wrong.
"Clove?"
And then I saw it. She had a big scar across her face. Her face was bloodied and her usually pale knuckles had blood splattered all over them. She was holding her stomach with her left hand and with the right, she was waving awkwardly.
"I, Clove" Before I could finish my sentence she started falling. Literally falling. I sprinted towards her and caught her at the last moment. She looked tired and half dead but the look in her eyes worried me most. She looked almost happy. I wonder why?
"You should've seen Cato. He looks even worse than I do." I didn't know what to do. I started sobbing at first quietly but as the time passed, I started fully breaking down. I never cry. What's wrong with me?
She just held me till I calmed down. No words were exchanged yet I understood everything. I'm there for you. I care for you. I love you…
