Walking through the double doors of an office building fifteen minutes before her meeting with Damon Salvatore, Elena inhaled and exhaled deeply as she walked up to the front desk. She set her purse down on the desk and cleared her throat to get the attention of the lady sitting behind the desk.

The lady looked up from her computer. "Oh hello, may I help you?" she asked with a friendly smile.

"Yeah, hi. I'm here to see Damon Salvatore. I have a meeting with him at 1:00, which is in ten minutes." Elena answered as she checked the time on her phone.

The lady nodded her head as she picked up the phone receiver. "Why don't you go and take a seat? I will let Mr. Salvatore know that you are here." She said as she called Damon's office to let him know that his one o'clock meeting is here.

Walking towards the other chairs, Elena sat down and started scrolling through her phone. Checking her Facebook, she noticed that Bonnie had just posted a new photo of her and Stefan's three-year-old daughter in her new dress. The new dress that Elena bought her for her birthday a few months ago. After Elena posted a quick comment on the new photo, she went to her Facebook page and, as she came across her relationship status, she reminded herself to change it from being married to being single as soon as possible. Probably after this meeting.

Placing the divorce forms on his desk right in front of Elena, twenty minutes later, after she explained why she called his office for this meeting, Damon listened to her explanation. Before he handed her his pen, he looked right into her eyes.

"Are you sure you want to do this?" he asked, wanting to make sure Elena wouldn't have second thoughts about wanting a divorce. As a divorce lawyer, he had seen clients change their minds at the last minute.

Elena sighs deeply as she moves a strand of hair behind her ear. "You might think I'm crazy for filing for a divorce so quickly, and who knows, maybe I am. But things between me and Tyler haven't been good lately. Of course, I've tried to ignore it and pretend everything was fine between us. But seeing my husband with his secretary was an eye opener for me. I refuse to let Tyler cheat on me again. So yeah, I am sure I want this divorce. "

Damon nodded slightly as he handed her the pen. "You are aware that this could get messy, right? I mean, your husband could fight you on this. He might not even want the divorce," he said, giving her a warning.

After Elena signed the divorce papers and handed them back to Damon, she nodded her head. "Believe me, I know how my husband is, and I know that this might not go my way. But I'm willing to fight for my rights to a divorce. I know the risks here, Damon, but I need this."

Taking the divorce papers from Elena, Damon looked them over, nodding his head. "I will have my assistant make copies and send them to your husband as soon as possible," Damon said, setting them aside for now.

"Thank you, Damon. I really do appreciate this. Do you think I might have to go to court?"

"Honestly, Elena, I don't know. I mean, there's a possibility that this might end up in court. But I will do everything I can to make sure that this doesn't get more complicated than it needs to be."

"I know Damon," Elena said as she stood up, grabbed her purse and car keys, and then walked out of his office, closing the door behind her.

Walking through the door, Elena saw Jenna sitting on the couch. "Hey," she said, closing the door behind her and joining Jenna on the couch. "Where's Uncle Ric?"

"He stopped by the store to pick up a few things for dinner tonight. Where did you go?" Jenna asked with curiosity.

Setting her purse down and tossing her keys on the coffee table, she sat back against the couch. "I went to see Damon Salvatore," she said as she picked at the edge of the arm of the couch.

"Why would you go see Stefan Salvatore's brother?"

Elena looks over at Jenna as she exhales deeply. "Because I filed for divorce as of today and I hired Damon Salvatore to be my lawyer," she answered honestly.

"Divorce? Elena, what really happened between you and Tyler?"

Elena looked down for a minute. "I caught him cheating on me."

Jenna raised her brows for a moment as she couldn't believe what she just heard. "Are you serious? With who?" She asked, never really thinking that Tyler would actually do something like that. Jenna always thought that Tyler would never hurt Elena.

Elena nods her head as she looks at Jenna. "Oh, I'm dead serious, Aunt Jenna. He's been cheating on me with his secretary."

"Vicki Donavan?"

" Yup, I caught them in his office that night. Tyler had her bend over his desk as soon as I walked in. Of course I didn't stick around to watch the rest of it." As soon as Elena saw Tyler with Vicki, she walked right back out of his office.

"Jesus, Elena, I had no idea. I know cheating is a deal breaker for you. So what happens now?"

Elena shrugged her shoulders. "Well, Damon said that Tyler should get the copies of the divorce papers as soon as possible. He also said that there's a possibility that I might have to go to court. But hopefully it won't come to that."

"Do you think Tyler might take you to court?"

Elena shrugged her shoulders. "Honestly, Aunt Jenna, I don't know. But I wouldn't put it past him." Elena really isn't sure what Tyler would do once he gets the divorce papers. But one thing she is sure of is that she will get her divorce one way or the other.

"Well, you know that you're welcome to stay with us for as long as you need."

Elena nods her head as she smiles. "Thanks, Aunt Jenna, and I'm grateful for you and Uncle Ric letting me stay with you. But this is only temporary. I hope to find an apartment as soon as possible."

AN: Thank you all for the reviews on the first two chapters. I never really expected 15 reviews that quickly but of course, I am not complaining. Keep them coming and I will try my hardest to update faster. Also there's a reason why Elena is calling Alaric Uncle Ric. Because I always thought that if Jenna stuck around in the series little longer and she had married Ric in the series. That would have made him Elena's Uncle by marriage.
