Learning Very Fast on His Devilish Feet
"I have the first assignment for you two that I want you to carry out." Yukihime announced to Touta and Kuroumaru.
"Cool, we're finally gonna get to do stuff besides chores here." Touta excited.
"That's right, we have to get you into going on missions soon and I believe right now is the perfect time." Yukihime explained.
"But we don't have the experience." Kuroumaru pointed out.
"I agree, it's far too soon for them, Mistress." Karin agreed.
"Come on, how else are we supposed to learn how you guys do on missions if we don't learn them from the field itself?" Touta asked.
"He's right, it's best that they take the lesson firsthand and I'm sending you to watch over them, Karin." Yukihime mentioned shocking Karin.
"Why sent me?" Karin asked.
"Do you not want to go? Well then, I suppose I can go along myself." Yukihime said looking at Touta who catches on.
"I don't mind, it'll be like back home at the village and maybe we'll even take baths together naked too." Touta said out loud on purpose causing Karin to go blushing mad.
"(They tool baths together… naked?!)" Karin thought imagined Touta and Yukihime cuddling together in the bath and all.
"NOOOOOOOOO!" Karin screamed.
"Hey Karin, are you okay?" Touta asked then immediately Karin stands in front of Yukihime's desk and slams her hands on top of it.
"No need, ma'am. I will keep an eye on them." Karin said and turns her head to Touta with a scary glare.
"You better be ready, Touta Konoe, because I don't plan to go easy on you." Karin said.
"If it means I can enjoy that scary look of yours, then bring it on." Touta flirted with a smirk.
"(Grrr! There he goes with that attitude again; he makes me so angry but at the same time my heart just won't stop racing for some reason.)" Karin thought grinded her teeth as her cheeks blush a bit.
"(Why do I feel so weird whenever I see Touta making flirty lines with Karin or Shinobu?)" Kuroumaru thought asked himself.
"Just to let you boys know, this mission was supposed to be for Karin anyway. The two of you will be sent there to support her as instructed, I say this job is perfect for you as you'll probably only die about two or three times." Yukihime mentioned.
"Ha, I'll only need to die once and the mission golden: S-Rank!" Touta proclaimed with a thumb up.
(The Next Day)
Karin, Touta, and Kuroumaru are seen running through a large forest heading in one direction.
"So, the reason we're not taking any vehicle for this is for speed training?" Touta asked.
"Something like that, and it's 100 years too early for you to drive a car." Karin mocked.
"Can you explained what you meant when you said that there are children in danger?" Kuroumaru asked.
"Something about invaders trying to do bad business in our turf, but you never told us where exactly we're heading too." Touta realized.
"The Slum." Karin revealed the name of the place.
"They spread out on the very edges of the capital. A looming shadow lies behind the glittering image of the city. In the 21st century, properties were equally distributing around the world, this was neither good nor bad just nearly inevitable, even Japan could not avoid these changes." Karin explained.
"And some people aren't very with the slum, right?" Touta asked.
"Yes, those people believe it to be dangerous and unlawful that the people who lives there got what they just deserve and that it's too late for them as they have fallen from society. They want the poor to disappear and think it would be best they vanish without a trace." Karin answered, she looks back a little noticing Touta's expression into an angry-serious look.
"That really pisses me off, I want to kill them right now." Touta said.
"Most of us feel the same way, but we focus on helping those need as members of the UQ Holders, we come to their aid with as much food and water we can provide for them. We help those who were forcibly kicked out of society, those who lost hope in their life, and those who are forgotten in this world." Karin said strongly and saw Touta is right next to her with a cheerfully face.
"What is it?" Karin asked.
"Just thought you sounded cute being kind and all." Touta complimented and dodge a hammer strike.
"Do not speak to me in such a manner like that, respect your senior." Karin said in a serious tone.
"After we pass the forest, our objective is right below us." Karin informed.
"Wait, you mean we have to jump off a cliff?" Kuromaru asked a little worry.
"Hope you took skydiving lessons, Kuromaru, because we're going in hot!" Touta jumped high and dive straight down then suddenly burst into flames like a human meteor while screaming of excitement.
"No one likes a showoff, Touta!" Karin shouted.
Down at an old church-looking building where a group of kids are huddling together with a young nun while some men in black suits are walking up to them, then suddenly Touta came crashing down right between them. When the dust settle, Touta got himself up in the middle of the crater he made and brush off the dusts looking around seeing the kids with the nun and the black-suited men probably believing them to be UQ Holder members too.
"Yo, UQ Holder Number 7, Touta Konoe is here!" Touta announced as Karin and Kuromaru lands as well.
"Honestly, you could've hurt someone from that stunt." Karin scolded.
"Relax, no one has a scratch on them, so everything is okay." Touta chuckled making Karin sigh.
"Forgive me, Mikan, but our newest member is quite the trouble child." Karin apologized to the nun.
"It's okay, he seems pretty nice with that smile." Mikan said.
"Hello, I'm Kuroumaru Tokisaka, UQ Holder Number 11. It's nice to meet all of you." Kuromaru introduced himself.
"You certainly got yourself some fine young men, are any of you interested in marrying someone someday?" Mikan asked.
"Wh-What, marry?" Kuroumaru gasped.
"I already got Yukihime, so our future is secure." Touta said and dodge a hammer strike from Karin.
"Although, we have been thinking about adding a new lover in our mix of fun." Touta smirked dodging another attack.
"Please shut that filthy mouth of yours." Karin angered with her cheeks turning red as she soon calms herself down.
"Okay, now we just need to through our usual routine to decide which job one will be doing while we're here." Karin said.
"A routine, what kind?" Touta asked.
"I'm curious about this too." Kuroumaru said.
"It's simple, we have an arm-wrestling contest." Karin answered.
"An arm-wrestling contest?" Touta and Kuroumaru wondered.
"Yes, and Touta, you'll be facing all of us. The objective of this is beat us or else you'll be in charge of cooking." Karin explained.
"Okay, this should be fun." Touta rolled up his sleeve.
Touta first faced the black-suited men UQ Holders easily beating them with his strength, but Karin and Kuroumaru are a different story as their strength from the experience and training they have been through as he almost got Kuroumaru though their match ended in a tie. With Karin however, she beats him after a full minute of power struggling against her which Touta admit she is stronger than he gives her credit for and can see why Yukihime recruited her.
"Well, no point crying over spill milk." Touta shrugged as he finishes cooking the meals and serve them to everyone.
"Oh, my goodness, this is very amazing! I can't believe you actually made something this good from what we have here." Mikan amazed of the food Touta made.
"I agree, I could eat this forever. I could eat this every day if I want to." Kuroumaru commented.
"Indeed, your cooking skills are the only things I have find something worthy enough to praise you. Perhaps, you should consider making this your job, forever." Karin said.
"Maybe, but I do this as just a hobby than actual work. Plus, Yukihime really stinks in the kitchen which is why I have to do the cooking in the house." Touta explained.
"Is her cooking really that bad?" One UQ Holder man asked.
"Trust me, you don't want to know." Touta said.
"But I got to admit, I didn't think you guys would decide on an arm-wrestling contest just to decide which chores to do." Touta commented.
"And I admit, you did better against most but you're lacking the Flash Step technique if you want to win against me in arm-wrestling." Karin advised.
"Huh, what's Flash Step?" Touta asked.
(Later)
"Wow, I must say I'm very surprise by this." Kuroumaru said as he, Karin, and Mikan are outside looking at the view of the slum.
"I came from up there, so I only heard stories, but I can't believe there's a huge slum out here." Kuroumaru said.
"That's right, and with the population pass 2,000,000 it's considered a problem. Look, everyone is just trying to survive." Karin stated.
"And now, there are people coming in day and night trying to force us out of the area. That's when we came up with the plan to ask the UQ Holders for help." Mikan cried.
"This isn't right, even the children here call this place their home." Kuroumaru said with a serious expression and look back at Mikan.
"I understand, we will do whatever we can to help!" Kuroumaru determined.
"Oh, aren't you such a reliable young man for a newbie." Mikan smiled.
"By the way, where is that other newbie? I believe he said his name was Touta." Mikan asked.
"Oh, he's doing Flash Step training right now." Kuroumaru recalled.
"By now, he must be doing his training poorly." Karin mocked.
"I wouldn't be so sure, Touta can be full of surprises." Kuroumaru chuckled.
(With Touta)
Touta is seen in a surrounded junk pile with one large spot being cleared of garbage as he stretches his legs.
"Okay, so kick the ground and grab the world. That what Karin said about doing the Flash Step, not sure what all that means but I wouldn't hurt to try." Touta said.
Touta started doing some dash-running to make himself go faster from one side to the other and then back again.
"Okay, here I go!" Touta shouted.
"What the heck is going on." A man asked who was sleeping on top of the junk and saw Touta trying to run across the field which makes him anger.
"Hmm, I knew I was fast, but I didn't realize how fast I can move my legs. But I still don't understand how does going superfast has anything to do with arm-wrestling." Touta wondered.
"WRONG!" The man charged at Touta and punch the kid in the face sending him hoping on the ground about a few feet away.
"You're entirely wrong, you don't get it at all!" The man said.
"What hell, man!" Touta groaned looking up at the man.
He is a muscular young male with slightly long, messy black hair. He wears a green bandana with kanji written on it, along with a short sleeves purple shirt, and light colored overalls, leaving the straps to dangle beneath his waist, and wears black sandals, with bandages around his ankles.
"Look, the key to Flash Step is… the arch of your foot. The arches." The man pointed at his right foot.
"You didn't have to punch me just to tell me that, old man." Touta angered and the man pat his head.
"I'm not an old man, I'm a martial artist who just happen to walk by. I saw you trying to practice Flash Step and you just happen to pique my interest." The man grinned.
"Okay, that's kinda cool." Touta commented.
"You want to be a martial artist?" The man asked.
"Something like that, but I'm practicing the Flash Step for a different reason." Touta mentioned.
"Really, and what's that?" The man asked curious.
"I was told that practicing Flash Step can help me better at beating someone at arm-wrestling though I still don't get it." Touta explained.
"I see, but what you're doing isn't good enough." The man stated confusing Touta.
"Look there, the dust clouds around you made means your technique is sloppy." The man pointed at the dust clouds Touta made.
"Give me a break, I just started doing this when I watched someone." Touta angered shocking the man.
"WHAAAT?! How are you this good already? It took me years to get where you at now! Are you some kind of genius?" The man asked freaking out.
"Well, let just say I'm a very special case." Touta grinned.
"Okay, now watch me carefully." The man said as he vanish and reappear a dozen feet to another spot.
"That's so cool! There wasn't any sound and no dust cloud, and you just travel at a huge distance, you definitely are an amazing person!" Touta smiled.
"That's right kid, praise me more because that stuff gets me motivated." The man said as he blitzes back to Touta.
"Man, the Flash Step technique is more amazing than I realize and training in this can really help me in arm-wrestling contest." Touta said.
"That's right kid, listen closely." The man brings a black marker and a whiteboard from the piles of trash, drawing a stretch of figures arm-wrestling.
"Once you get to my level, winning isn't just base on power alone. By grabbing the earth with the arches of your feet, you add the earth's natural power to your physical strength. Those who do Flash Steps are grantee to do arm-wrestling well." The man explained a little dramatically.
"I don't know, sounds kinda fake and a little fishy to me." Touta commented.
"WRONG!" The man punched Touta again.
"It's not fake nor fishy, and who cares about a clear explanation if people don't get the awesome importance of the Flash Step." The man stated strongly.
"You know, you didn't have to hit me like that." Touta groaned as he got up.
"Listen!" The man holds his right foot up to Touta's face.
"Use the arches of your feet, to grab the world." The man said.
"Use my feet to grab the world?" Touta asked.
"Grab the world! Grab the ground, grab the world to so the impossible!" The man cheered.
"Wow, you're really into the whole feet thing, are you?" Touta asked deadpan.
"Watch this." The man ran again and Touta became shock of seeing the martial artist man is hopping on the air itself.
"This is… Fin-Air Flash Step!" The man revealed as he air hop his way back to Touta.
"Whoa!" Touta amazed.
"I'm the martial artist, Kaito. Look kid, you got talent and I like you." Kaito said revealing his name.
"Okay, you're a cool guy too." Touta commented.
"There are two tricks in doing the Flash Step, I'm gonna teach you the first one." Kaito said.
"Whoa, for real?" Touta asked.
"Sure man. If you can master that one then you're the real deal, I might even make you my student." Kaito offered.
"(This guy, a totally strange, is offering to teach me more about Flash Step even though we only just met though I get the feeling this guy and I are going to get along just fine.)" Touta thought smiled at Kaito.
"(Plus, there this feeling he's not human but not a demon either. Although, he does seem like a very nice guy and a funny one too.)" Touta thought commented.
"Okay, Master Kaito, I will take your training and blow your mind away with my awesome!" Touta accepted the training offer.
"Great, I promise you won't regret it!" Kaito excited.
And so, the training of Touta mastering Flash Step begins.

Touta and Kuroumaru have begun their first mission to help the poor innocent citizen of the slum to stop anyone who is trying to kick them out of their home, and Touta has been in charge of doing the cooking. Touta has also met a very fast martial artist named Kaito who is going to help him get better at using the Flash Step technique, but the Vampire-Devil Boy is going to find out the hard of why Kaito is really here for.
