Episode 454: The Lisia Cup Part 2
Where we last left off, the Lisia Cup has officially began as Kairi, May, Dawn, and along with some rivals, both old and new have entered it as well. Each Kairi, May, Dawn, Drew, Harley, Zoey, and a new Coordinator named Ursula have entered the Lisia Cup to compete, and they all end up being among the sixteen finalists of the special Pokémon Contest. Now, these sixteen finalists will have to fight hard to make it to the top of the competition and earn the Aqua Ribbon. And that's where we open up.
It was night as Kairi had changed into her regular clothes as Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel are spending some time alone.
"I gotta tell you, Kairi, you were awesome out there," Sora said.
"Thank you, Sora. I'm glad you enjoyed that so much," Kairi said.
"Yeah, I did, I can admit that. I couldn't take my eyes off of you," Sora said. This makes Kairi blush in embarrasement.
"Sora," Kairi said.
The couple moved in to kiss each other on the lips as they hugged each other. As they parted lips, Sora saw something move around on the water.
"Huh?" Sora asked.
"What is it, Sora?" Kairi asked.
"For a second there, I thought I just saw something moving around on the water," Sora said. Kairi looked at the lake.
"Where?" Kairi asked.
"There," Sora said, pointing at where he saw the mysterious figure.
"I don't see anything. You sure you weren't just seeing things?" Kairi asked.
"I don't know," Sora said.
"I do," a voice said. They saw an elderly man approach the couple. "I know you weren't imagining things, kid. What you saw has to be Lake Valor's Lake Guardian, Azelf."
"Azelf? Really?" Sora asked.
"Really. Very few people actually sees it with their own eyes, but there is no doubt Azelf is there," the elderly said.
"Cool," Sora said.
"It's not surprising to me that we have some encounters with legendary and mythical Pokémon," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
"How can it be that he can see Azelf and I couldn't?" Kairi asked.
"I heard some legends regarding Lake Verity, Lake Valor, and Lake Acuity. One of the legends states that the individual is being chosen by Azelf," the elderly man said.
"Azelf chose me? Why?" Sora asked.
"I don't know, boy, but for some reason, Azelf has taken a shine to you. There must be something special about ya," the elderly man said.
"Oh, you have no idea," Sora said under his breath. "But if Azelf is on that lake, then I believe it."
"And you should, kid. Now that you'll excuse me, I'll getting back to what I was doing. Night, kids," the elderly man said, taking his leave.
Meanwhile, Lucas was walking beside the lakeshore and he skips a few stones. And he sees the same mysterious figure moving on the water's surface.
"What the heck is that?" Lucas asked. He mysterious figure hovers around for a minute or two before disappeared. "I gotta tell the guys!" Lucas ran off to tell his friends.
Over to May, Dawn, and Zoey, they were relaxing after the appeals round of the Lisia Cup.
"I have to say, you really shined out there today," May said.
"Thanks, May. The way you handled your Staryu was awesome. You're a much better Pokémon Coordinator than I thought," Dawn said.
"I agree. I could easily see why you came so close in the Hoenn and Kanto Grand Festivals," Zoey said.
"Well, it wasn't easy for me. I actually had to fight hard for my ribbons. And so did Kairi. We both lost at least one Contest, and that wasn't the end of the world," May said.
"Wasn't there a Contest that you both competed in and lost in?" Zoey asked.
"Actually, there was. That was the Pokémon Contest in Rubello Town. And to inform you, Sora was the judge in that Contest since Athena was out doing a swimsuit shoot. I was starting to get overconfident, and then I was yelling at Kairi when she was trying to warn me about letting it go to my head. I thought she was trying to psyche me out, but I should have known better than that. And to make it worse, I didn't think about how it would have affected my Bulbasaur. Kairi lost against Drew, and I lost against a Coordinator named Savanah. When my Bulbasaur lost against her Lairon, I said that I wasn't done fighting, but Sora chewed me out in front of everyone, telling me that I should have been thinking about the welfare of my Pokémon before winning, and the other two backed him up. Thinking back now, I know he was right. I should have already known that at that point. I was embarrassed about it since I should have known better, but I've become a little bit wiser because of it," May said.
"I find it hard to believe that actually happened, May," Dawn said.
"The great things about making a mistake is the fact you can learn from it. And that's what I did. I never did make that mistake again," May said.
Several knocks are heard on the door.
"Dawn, May! You're not gonna believe this!" Lucas's voice said, banging on the door.
"Alright, Lucas, calm down!" Dawn said, opening the door. "What's so important, you have to bang on the door like a Hitmonchan?"
"I saw something on the lake! I think it was a Pokémon!" Lucas said.
"What kind do you think it was, Lucas?" Dawn asked.
"I don't know, I didn't get that good a look at it, because it was too dark, and it was moving too fast," Lucas said.
"You're kidding! It was the same thing with me!" Dawn said.
"It was?" May asked, looking at Dawn. She looked right at May.
"Right, you and the others weren't in Sinnoh yet when it happened. It happened on the day I met Piplup. After I saved him from a group of Ariados, we ended up tripping over by Lake Verity and that's where we saw a mysterious Pokémon there. Professor Rowan stated that it had to be Mesprit," Dawn said.
"Wow, that was awesome," May said.
"You know, if you saw Mesprit in Lake Verity, then you should go and check out Lake Acuity. I've been hearing a lot of stories that dates back in the old days of Hisui. When I was a little kid, I've been hearing about how there are Trainers who would go to Lake Acuity and see Uxie with their own eyes," Zoey said.
"Have you ever seen Uxie with your own eyes, Zoey?" Lucas asked.
"No, I haven't but I know it's there somewhere," Zoey said.
"If I'm remembering right, Lake Acuity should be close to your hometown, Snowpoint City," Dawn said.
"Yeah, that's right," Zoey said.
"Maybe this'll be something we can talk with Sora, Kairi, and the others about," May suggested.
"And what is it that you wanna talk to us about?" Sora asked. Sora, Kairi, Roxas, Xion, Lea, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, Chase, Elaine, Wes, Rui, Michael, and the Pokémon were coming.
"Perfect timing," May said.
Meanwhile, Kanako wanted to speak with Rei alone.
"Miss Rei, I was wondering if I could be Ben's apprentice," Kanako said.
"That is an odd request to ask me, but may I ask you why?" Rei asked.
"Because I may have some knowledge about Ansem the Wise that will be very useful to him since they'll be focused on finding them, and I feel I can learn a lot from him than you," Kanako said.
"I can understand, but Riku may insist that you learn from me, and Count Ernesh may have taught you some skills of your own, so I'm not sure that's a right call to make," Rei said.
"It doesn't matter if it's right or wrong, it's my call to make. I want to help my brother and his friends any way I can, but I feel I can do so when we're in separate unions," Kanako said.
"You're right, it is your call, and I cannot force you to change your mind, since it's clear to me that it's made up. So, I will respect what you want, and if you like I can speak with Ben on your behalf," Rei said.
"I appreciate your kind offer, but I think I'd like to talk to him as soon as the Lisia Cup has ended," Kanako said.
"I understand, but have you spoken with Riku about this?" Rei said.
"I have, but he was against it at first. He did insist on me learning from you like you said he would, but I don't want to be a burden or have any of your other apprentices in danger because of me," Kanako said.
"And did you explain that to Riku?" Rei asked.
"I did, and he eventually understood. But I know me going to Ben Blaze won't stop Count Ernesh from getting to Riku," Kanako said.
Kanako, you have my word as a Master that I will do everything in my power to keep your brother safe. If Riku's own journey through different worlds has taught him anything, it may have taught him that not all wielders of darkness can be evil, and I know Riku uses the darkness within him for good. And when he comes for you, just remember this, and it'll serve you well," Rei said.
"I won't forget, and thank you," Kanako said.
Back with the rest of the group, they discuss on Lucas saw on the lake.
"You're kidding! I saw it, too!" Sora exclaimed.
"You did?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah. I couldn't see it all that well, but it was a Pokémon," Sora said.
"Chu," Pikachu said.
"He said something about Sora being chosen by Azelf," Kairi said.
"That hardly surprises me. I mean, you were chosen by the Keyblade, so there's no doubt that a Pokémon would choose you," Zoey said.
"You're right about one thing, Zoey, but I think it's a lot deeper than that," Sora said.
"Maybe it be because of how strong Sora's heart is," Elaine said.
"Eevee," Maple said.
"You could be right, Elaine. Sora's heart is pretty strong," Leaf said. Riku stayed quiet as the group talked among themselves, thinking about earlier.
(Flashback)
It was shortly after the appeals round as Kanako talks with Riku alone.
"What's up, Kanako? What's on your mind?" Riku asked.
"I've been doing a lot of thinking lately," Kanako said.
"About what?" Riku asked.
"Well, I've been thinking about being Ben Blaze's apprentice instead of Rei's," Kanako said. Riku just looked at his sister, puzzled and dumbfounded.
"You wanna be Ben's apprentice and not Master Rei's? When did you decide that?" Riku asked.
"Just now. Like I said, I've been doing a lot of thinking and I thought I could learn so much from him," Kanako said.
"You don't need to do that, Kanako. You can learn under Master Rei. Just give me a chance to have a word with her and I'm sure she'll agree to let you learn from here," Riku insisted.
"Thanks, Riku. It's sweet of you to offer, but I already made up my mind. Don't get the wrong idea. I did enjoy spending time with you, Naminé, and the others, but I'll put you in constant danger if I stay with your union," Kanako said.
"Count Ernesh would just come after me regardless if you're with me or not," Riku said.
"I know that, Riku. And I know you can handle yourself against him. But Count Ernesh is only a small reason why I'm joining up with Ben," Kanako said.
"What's the other reason, Kanako?" Riku asked.
"The other reason is I can be a great help to Ben since he's spent the last several years looking for Ansem the Wise, and I can provide him with what I know about Ansem the Wise's secret hiding places," Kanako said.
"If you're sure about it, then I'll back you up, Kanako. I won't stop you," Riku said.
"I'm sorry that I had to spring this on you," Kanako apologzed.
"That's nothing to apologize for, Kanako. It's clear as crystal that you made up your mind. I suggest you talk with Master Rei before you do anything else," Riku said.
"I already have that in mind," Kanako said. "And one more thing, Riku."
"Yeah? What?" Riku asked.
"Just this," Kanako said, hugging her brother. He hugged her back.
"Riku? Riku! Earth to Riku!" Sora called out from the flashback.
(End of flashback)
Riku snapped out of his trail of thoughts.
"Huh? What?" Riku asked.
"We've noticed you kinda spaced out there," Sora said.
"Sorry, my thoughts were somewhere else," Riku said.
"You're thinking about your talk with Kanako earlier, aren't you?" Naminé asked.
"Yeah," Riku said.
"What about?" Ethan asked.
"She told me that she'll be learning from Ben's union instead of ours," Riku said.
"What? Seriously?" Kris asked.
"Yeah," Riku confirmed. "She's already discussing it with the master."
"Well, if Ben is willing to welcome her, then we can only wish her the best," Sora said.
"I second that," Ash said.
"I'm thinking it might be after the Lisia Cup has ended," Riku said.
"I guess that gives us a chance to say a temporary goodbye as soon as the Contest is over," Dawn said.
"Speaking of which, I think we should all have some shut-eye for tomorrow," Lea said.
"Lea's right. We should all go asleep," Xion said.
With that said, everyone all climbed into bed and fell asleep, knowing the real competition was about to begin.
On the next morning, the finals of the Lisia Cup was officially underway as fireworks goes off.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we're back at the Lisia Cup for the beginning of our second-stage Contest Battles! So, Lisia, would you mind saying a few words to our remaing Coordinators?" Marian asked.
"I can honestly say I wish the best of luck to all of our lively Coordinators! It's time to bring your excitement and your passion to the world!" Lisia announced.
"In a Pokémon Contest Battle, Coordinaors have five minutes to show off their Pokémon's moves while simutaneously taking away the other's points as much as you can before the time runs out! And now, our second-stage matchups will be determined by a random shuffle of the Contest computer!" Marian announced as the computer shows them who will be up against who in the second-stage battles. It turns out that it'll be Kairi, May, Dawn, Drew, Harley, Zoey, and Ursula will be up against different opponents.
"Wow, I'm up first!" Dawn said.
"Go show the world what you can do!" Kairi said.
"You bet!" Dawn said.
A few moments later, Dawn is about to begin her match againat her opponent.
"Time for our first battle! We've got five minutes on the clock! Let's go!" Marian annoucned. Dawn threw a Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a Heart Sticker A.
"Buneary, now! Spotlight!" Dawn called out as her Buneary came out with a flurry of pink hearts. Her opponent had his Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a Bubble Sticker A.
"Wailmer! Out here for the action!" The Coordinator called out as his Wailmer came out in a flurry of bubbles. "Water Spout, let's go!" Wailmer fires Brine right at the Rabbit Pokémon to land a hit.
"Wailmer gets off to a fine start with a powerful Water Spout!" Marian announed as Dawn loses some points in the process.
"Quick, Buneary! Somersaults!" Dawn called out. Buneary jumps n the water Wailmer is spouting
"Hey, that's no fair!" The Coordinator cried.
"Buneary's cleverly used the energy from that Water Spout to do some backward somersaults! I can't take my eyes off such cute and dynamic moves!" Marian announced.
"Buneary is moving around in one of the cutest ways I have ever seen!" Lisia said. Dawn's opponent was losing some points as well.
"Now, Buneary! Bounce!" Dawn ordered. Buneary jumps up and came down on the Ball Whale Pokémon.
"And Buneary shows some fancy footwork right on top of Wailmer!" Marian announced. Buneary jumps back on the platform. Her opponent loses some more points in the process.
"Wailmer! Use Surf!" The Coordinator ordered. Wailmer manipulates the water to lift Wailmer up and use the tidal wave to wash away Buneary.
"Now, thats no small Surf!" Marian announced. Dawn loses some more points in the process.
"Spin!" Dawn called out. Buneary spins around like a top and swirls the water under her. The judges were at awe to Dawn's quick thinking.
"Incredible! Buneary's managed to get on top of and ride that Surf!" Marian announced. Her opponent loses some more points. The clock runs down to a minute left.
"Dizzy Punch! Let's go!" Dawn ordered. Buneary came at Wailmer with a Dizzy Punch. "Great, Buneary! Now keep it up!"
"Use Hidden Power!" The Coordinator ordered. Wailmer fires Hidden Power right at the Rabbit Pokémon.
"Wailmer counterattacks! Just take a look at the acrobatic movement of that Hidden Power!" Marian announced as it swirls around to strike Buneary.
"Dodge it!" Dawn called out. Buneary avoids Hidden Power and Wailmer got struck by its own attack.
"No, Wailmer!" The Coordinator gasped as Wailmer took a dive in the water.
"Whoa! Wailmer ends up getting hit by its own Hidden Power!" Marian announced.
"Ice Beam now!" Dawn ordered. Buneary prepares to fire Ice Beam.
"Body Press!" The Coordinator ordered. Wailmer jumps to deliever Body Press at the rabbit Pokémon. Ice Beam came too fast for Wailmer to use Body Press and ends up being frozen. Time runs out.
"Look out! Time's up! And the winner of the first battle is Dawn and Buneary!" Marian announced.
"Yahoo!" Dawn cheered.
The battles raged on as Kairi has sent out Angel against a Kecleon. Zoey has sent out her Shellos against a Mareep. Drew has sent out his Flygon against an Exeggutor. Harley has sent out his Wigglytuff against a Weepinbell. And Usrula in the eighth battle has sent out her Gabite against a Gallade. It was now down to Kairi, May, Dawn, Drew, Harley, Zoey, Ursula, and another Coordinator named Kyle who made it to the final eight. The computer shuffled them up again as May is against Kyle. Zoey is up against Drew. Harley is up against Dawn. And Kairi is up against Ursula.
"And now, we're down to eight Coordinators remaining in the Lisia Cup, and here is the first battle of the final eight that we'll be seeing! On my left is May and Kyle! Both Coordinators have come so far to make it in as the final eight, and only one of them will be getting that first spot, so let's get the show on the road!" Marian announced as the clock starts running. Kyle took out a Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a Star Sticker A. He threw it.
"Go! Crawdaunt!" Kyle called out. His Pokéball opened and Crawdawnt came out, followed by stars. May took out her Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a Burning Sticker C.
"Blaziken! Take the stage!" May called out. Her Pokéball opened and Blaziken came out with a flame circling around the Blaze Pokémon for a moment.
"Blaziken's a Fire-type, so this so works for me! Crawdaunt! Move in with Crabhammer!" Kyle ordered. Crawdunt rushes in with a Crabhammer.
"Blaziken! Dodge and use Sky Uppercut!" May ordered. Blaziken dodged Crawdaunt's Crabhammer and lands a Sky Uppercut onto Crawdaunt.
"What speed! Blaziken lands a lightning-fast Sky Uppercut onto Crawdaunt! It has to be pretty brutal for a Dark-type like Crawdaunt since Fighting-type moves does some heavy damage!" Marian announced as Kyle's points goes down.
In the back, the other finalists were watching in the back.
"May definitely is making this work. Crawdaunt may have the advantage as a Water-type, but her Blaziken has the advantage as a Fire-type," Drew said.
"Yeah. Let's how her opponent pushes back," Kairi said.
"Crawdaunt! Use Sludge Bomb!" Kyle ordered. Crawdaunt fired Sludge Bomb right at the Blaze Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Mega Kick!" May ordered. Blaziken dodges Kyle's Sludge Bomb and does a few spins.
"Look at Blaziken's movements! It's moving like it's dancing with that Mega Kick!" Marian announced as Blaziken lands the kick onto the Rogue Pokémon. "And Blaziken connects with its Mega Kick, cutting down on Kyle's points!" Kyle's points goes down.
"Let's put out her fire here and now! Surf!" Kyle ordered. Crawdaunt whips up a tidal wave and sends it down on Blaziken, dealing some damage to her points.
"And Crawdaunt pushes back with a Surf! That puts a huge damper on May's chances for victory!" Marian announced.
"Stay strong, Blaziken," May said. Blaziken shook off the water attack, still standing on her feet.
"But Blaziken is having a different opinion! Let's see if it can keep it going!" Marian announced.
"I don't think so! Crawdaunt! Crabhammer!" Kyle ordered. Crawdaunt rushes in with a Crabhammer.
"Now, Crawdaunt's moving in with a Crabhammer! How will May respond to Kyle's assault?" Marian asked.
"Blaziken! Blaze Kick!" May ordered. Blaziken does the same spin like before, but only with fire this time.
"Blaziken is using the same spin technique as before, but this time, with a Blaze Kick!" Marian announced. Blaziken lands a Blaze Kick onto Crawdaunt, dealing some damage to Kyle's points. "And Kyle suffers some loss of points from that Blaze Kick! The damage might of been minimum, but it left a mark!"
"Dark Pulse!" Kyle ordered. Crawdaunt fired a Dark Pulse right at Blaziken.
"Dodge and use Sky Uppercut!" May ordered. Blaziken lands a Sky Uppercut, cutting away at Kyle's points as the time ran out.
"And time! The winner is May and her Blaziken!" Marian announced as the crowd cheered.
"Blaziken, you did it!" May cheered.
"Blaziken!" Blaziken said. Kyle called back his Crawdaunt.
"You battled hard, Crawdaunt. Get yourself a good rest," Kyle said.
The finals was now down to May, Dawn, Zoey, and Ursula. And it was May against Zoey, and Kairi against Dawn.
"And now, we're down to four more Coordinators! Only one of them will be winning this year's Lisia Cup right here on lovely Lake Valor! Which one will make it to the top and get one step closer to the Grand Festival? Just you wait and see!" Marian announced.
"Way to go, May!" Brendan said, cheering for his girlfriend.
"Zoey and Drew should be up next, so let's see how this'll go," Sora said.
And it was now the time for Drew and Zoey's battle.
"And now, it's time for our next battle, Drew from LaRousse City, and Zoey from Snowpoint City! Now, let's start the clock and begin the match!" Maian announced as the closk starts running. Zoey took out her Pokéball placed in an Electricity Sticker D.
"Glameow! Curtain!" Zoey called out as her Glameow emerged from inside, ready to battle. Drew took out his Pokéball, placed in a Ball Capsule with a Flora Sticker C.
"Roserade! Go!" Drew called out as his Roserade emerged from inside, followed by purple flower petals. "Roserade! Begin with Magical Leaf!" Roserade sends off Magical Leaf and sends it right at Glameow.
"Roserade makes a great start by sending out a Magical Leaf! That move never misses a mark, so how does Zoey plan to counter against that?" Marian asked.
"Use Iron Tail!" Zoey ordered. Glameow uses its tail to smacked the multicolored leaves and make them rain to the ground, cutting into Drew's points.
"Wow, instead of attempting to dodge it, Zoey has her Glameow use Iron Tail to deflect Roserade's Magical Leaf! That was an elegant defense!" Marian announced.
"That was impressive, Zoey! Nicely done!" Drew said.
"Thanks, Drew. But we're just getting started," Zoey said. "Glameow! Use Shock Wave!" Glameow sends out a Shock Wave, hitting Roserade on the mark and cuts a little more of Drew's points.
"Roserade's feeling the sting from that Shock Wave, but that does some little damage to Roserade and to Drew's points!" Marian announced.
"Roserade! Use Petal Dance! Drew ordered. Roserade sends out Petal Dance toward Glameow.
"Iron Tail again!" Zoey ordered. Glameow repeatedly whipped Roserade's Petal Dance to block, and cuts down more of Drew's points.
"And Drew loses some more of his points!" Marian announced.
"Shadow Claw!" Zoey rushed at Glameow and slashed at Roserade with Shadow Claw.
"And that scores a direct hit!" Marian announced.
"Magical Leaf!" Drew ordered. Roserade unleashed Magical Leaf, hitting Glameow and cuts into Zoey's points.
"And Glameow is struck by that Magical Leaf. Drew has started to push back in a big way!" Marian announced.
"Petal Dance again!" Drew ordered. Roserade unleashed Petal Dance, hitting Glameow, cutting into more of Zoey's points.
"Zoey's points pluders a whole lot more damage! If this keeps up, Zoey won't last much longer!" Marian announced.
"Glameow! Shock Wave!" Zoey ordered.
"Solar Beam, Roserade!" Drew ordered.
Roserade began to build up solar energy in his two bouquets as Glameow fired Shock Wave. Just before Glameow's attack could land a hit, Roserade fired Solar Beam and blocked it.
"A close shave on Roserade's part! Both Shock Wave and Solar Beam collide with one another and blocked one another, but it's costing both competitors some points in the process!" Marian announced as Drew and Zoey's points were dwindling rapidly. "And we're in the one minute mark!"
"Roserade! Keep it up!" Drew called out. Roserade kept on firing.
"Turn up your power!" Zoey called out. Glameow managed to increase its power.
"These two aren't giving each other a chance to cool down, giving it all they've got!" Marian announced. Roserade's Solar Beam began to weaken. "Wait a minute, Roserade's losing power! I don't think it can keep it up much longer!" Glameow's Shock Wave overpowered Roserade's Solar Beam and deals some damage, cutting into Drew's points. The close is now down to ten seconds. !0, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1! And time! And the winner is..." The screen shows ZOey has more points than Drew does. "It's Zoey and her Glameow!" The crowd cheered really hard for Zoey.
"You're next, Dawn," Kairi said.
"Yeah, I know," Dawn said.
"Well, let's see if I can bring that new girl down several notches," Harley said, grinning.
"And now, it's time for our third bout! It's Dawn from Twinleaf Town and Harley from Slateport City!" Marian announced as both COordinators took their places.
"I came this far, and I'm not going to give up!" Dawn said.
"I'm going to make you cry hard, hun," Harley said.
"And start the clock!" Marian shouted as the clock started to run. Harley took out a Pokéball placed in Sinister Stick B.
"Come on out, Wigglytuff!" Harley called out. His Pokéball opened and his Wigglytuff emerged from inside along and ominous haze.
Dawn took out her Pokéball placed in a Bubble Sticker B and threw it.
"Piplup! Spotlight!" Dawn called out. Her Pokéball opened and her Piplup came out to battle, followed by a bunch of bubbles.
"Wigglytuff! Use Double Slap!" Harley ordered. Wigglytuff rushed at the Penguin Pokémon to land a hit.
"Dodge it, Piplup!" Dawn called out. Piplup tried to dodge, but the Balloon Pokémon came too fast for Piplup to dodge and ends up being smacked repeatedly by its ears. It cuts into Dawn's points.
"Harley makes a great start by landing a barrage of Double Slap on its opponent! It doesn't look like Dawn's points aren't fairing so good!" Marian announced.
"Piplup! Bide!" Dawn ordered. Piplup then takes the damage from Wigglytuff's Double Slap, building up energy in his body.
"Look at Piplup just take it," Michael said.
"That's what Bide will do. The more damage Piplup takes, the more powerful Bide will become," Riku said.
"Piplup is building up energy from Wigglytuff's Double Slap, and it looks like it'll be a big blast of energy from Piplup!" Marian announced as Harley winced when he heard her say that.
"Oh, sugar water iced tea! I totally forgot about Bide's effects! Wigglytuff! Stop smacking Piplup!" Harley called out. It was too late, because Piplup has built up enough energy and unleashed it, sending it back at Wigglytuff. The Balloon Pokémon is sent flying into the air.
"Uh-oh! Wigglytuff has surely walked into that one! Judging by how hard Wigglytuff struck Piplup with those ears, that Bide is really powerful! And that costs Harley a huge sum of points!" Marian announced.
"Oh, my baby!" Harley gasped.
"Piplup! Whirlpool!" Dawn ordered. Piplup creates a massive whirlpool before he threw it at his opponent. Wigglytuff gets caught in the water attack, splashing around.
"And now, Wigglytuff is caught in a raging Whirlpool! And it doesn't look like Wigglytuff can get out of there!" Marian announced as Wigglytuff is trying to get loose. It cuts into Harley's points even more.
"Use Bubble Beam!" Dawn ordered. Piplup fired Bubble Beam, hitting Wigglytuff on the mark, and Harley loses more points.
"And Bubble Beam builds up some extra damage! It looks like this battle will be over sooner than expected!" Marian announced as Piplup's Whirlpool subsided. Wigglytuff fell on its back and stumbles around, dizzy. "And all that spinning around in that Whirlpool has made Wigglytuff dizzier than a Spinda!"
"Okay, Piplup! Finish it with a Peck!" Dawn ordered. Piplup lunged forward and lands a Peck onto Wigglytuff, knocking out the Baloon Pokémon.
"And Wigglytuff is unable to battle! The winner is Dawn and her Piplup!" Marian announced.
"Alright!" Dawn said. She hugged Piplup tightly. "You were awesome out there, Piplup!"
"Piplup!" Piplup said.
"Ooh, she's just as bad as Kairi and May! I can't stand it!" Harley exclaimed as he called back his Wigglytuff. A few moments later, it was now down to Kairi and Ursula.
"And now, we're down to the final battle for the day before we get to the semi-finals! And we have Kairi on my left, and Ursula on my right! Now we will see which one of these two will be the fourth finalist for the Lisia Cup! And we begin by running that clock!" Marian announced as the clock began to run. Ursula took out a Pokéball in a Ball Capsule with a Heart Sticker B.
"Go! Gabite!" Ursula called out as she threw it. Her Pokéball opened and large pink hearts came out. Kairi took out her Pokéball in a Ball Capsule, also with a Heart Sticker B.
"Lopunny! Go!" Kairi called out. Her Pokéball opened and Lopunny came out with large hearts coming out.
"Gabte! Use Draon Claw!" Ursula ordered. Gabite rushes at the Rabbit Pokémon with a Dragon Claw.
"Lopunny! Dodge and use Triple Axel!" Kairi ordered. Lopunny dodged Gabite's Dragon Claw and lands three icy kicks onto Gabite. Ursula loses some of her points.
"Lopunny makes a great start with that Triple Axel! Super-effective against a Ground and Dragon-type!" Marian announced.
"Gabite! Use Aerial Ace!" Ursula ordered. Gabite dashed at Lopunny and deals some damage, cutting into Kairi's points.
"And Gabite lands a hit with an Aerial Ace!" Marian announced.
"Use Bounce!" Kairi ordered. Lopunny jumped into the air as high as she can jump.
"Lopunny's high up into the air! And it won't be long until Lopunny comes down with an attack!" Marian announced.
"Triple Axel!" Kairi ordered. Lopunny came down at Gabite and lands three kicks against the Cave Pokémon. It deals some extra damage.
"And Lopunny's dealing the hurt on Gabite with that combo of Bounce and Triple Axel! It doesn't look like to much longer!" Marian announced.
"Mega Punch!" Kairi ordered. Lopunny lands a Mega Punch, resulting in a knockout.
"And Gabite's out of the match, so the winner is Kairi and her elegant Lopunny!" Marian announced.
"No, no, no! I can't believe I lost!" Ursula cried.
"And now, we're down to four ore Coordinators! Only one of them will be winning this year's Lisia Cup right here on Lovely Lake Valor! WHich one will make to the top and get one step closer to the Grand Festival? Just you wait and see!" Marian announced.
Shortly after the battles, the group got together to discuss the finals.
"And then, there were four," Sora said.
"And it's anyone's guess who's going to make it to the final round," May said.
"Well, let's give it our all tomorrow," Kairi said.
"I strongly agree. Let's give them a couple of battles nobody would forget," Zoey said.
The final round of the Lisia Cup was just a day away. Only one of them is going to make it to the top. Kairi, May, Dawn, and Zoey aren't going to back down from this. Which will win the Lisia Cup and get one step closer to the Sinnoh Grand Festival? Stay tuned if you wanna find out.
Okay, I was originally going to try having Harley against Ursula have Kairi eliminated against Dawn earlier, but I scratched that idea. Instead it would be close to the finals and just go with Dawn battling Kairi and then May. Anyway, I said what I needed to say and the final chapter of the Lisia Cup arc is up next!
