Episode 466: Up and Personable
Where we last left off, it was just after Lucas won the elusive Relic Badge from Fantina and Dawn won the Poké Chic campaign, so Sora, Kairi, Lucas, and Dawn were invited to attend a week long program ran by Professor Rowan on Mount Coronet. They were late coming in, so Sora, Kairi, Lucas, and Dawn were assigned to the Red Team as Conway who was Dawn's partner in the Hearthome Tag Battle Tournament is in the Blue Team. They were assigned some Pokémon to work with, so Sora gets a Raichu, Kairi gets an Abra, Lucas gets a Prinplup, Dawn gets a Grimer, and a girl named Angie gets a Monferno. Upon meeting Lucas and Angie gets off on the wrong foot when trying to pick their Pokéballs. Monferno wasn't too thrilled with being assigned with Angie as Sora, Kairi, Lucas, and Dawn hits it off well with their temporary partners. They battled with their partners, earning some points, and losing some with Lucas and Angie falling asleep in class, and the two of them arguing like fueding neighbors. Now, the next activity is soon to be underway.
With two days behind them, they begin the third day over by a lake as Professor Rowan and his assistant are now announcing their next activity.
"Now, what do you say to something a little different?" Professor Rowan asked.
"Yeah!" The students all cheered.
"Good. Because today, I would like you to observe the Water-type Pokémon in this lake. Everyone turned around and saw wild Water-type Pokémon in the lake.
"As you can see, these waters are teeming with many kinds of Pokémon. And which kind to focus on is completely up to you. You may express your findings in a report, sketch, or any other way you choose. But your grade will be based on your final presentation. You may work on your own, or work in groups if you prefer," Prodessor Rowan's assistant said.
"But because the Water-type Pokémon in this lake area are being researched, you're not allowed to catch any one of them," Professor Rowan said.
"And keep in mind, leaving the area is forbidden. Priority 1 is safety first," Professor Rowan's assistant said.
"Okay, you wanna be paired with me, Kairi?" Sora asked.
"Funny, I was about to ask you the same question," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"No surprise you two would team up. You're not going to get the drop on me and Dawn," Lucas said.
"Lucas, you know we're on the same team, right?" Dawn reminded Lucas.
"Just had to make it interesting," Lucas said.
"If you say so," Dawn said.
"And I'm going to earn myself an A plus!" Lucas said.
"You're not going to get ahead of me! Alright, Shinx, what do you say we move?" Angie asked.
"Us too. What do you say we beat them all, Piplup?" Dawn asked.
"Shinx, Shinx!" Shinx said.
"Piplup!" Piplup said.
"Right. Off you go," Professor Rowan said.
Meanwhile, Chase is picking some berries growing berries along with Elaine, Volt, and Maple, unaware of someone eyeing Chase. It's a boy wearing a hoodie and he goes over Chase's info. "There he is. The second place winner of the Pokémon Stadium Cup. I've been looking forward in meeting him. I wanna battle against him," the boy said, taking off his hoodie and approached him. "Excuse me, Mr. Chase!" Chase, Elaine, Volt, and Maple turned to see him.
"Something I can help you with?" Chase asked.
"Yeah, I was wondering if I could have a battle against you?" The boy asked, taking out a Pokéball and held it.
"Okay, I accept your challenge!" Chase said, taking out a Pokéball.
"That's what I wanna hear! Let's make it a three-on-three-match! Two out of three wins!" The boy said.
"You're on!" Chase said. The boy threw his Pokéball.
"Come out, Piloswine!" The boy called out, letting out his Piloswine.
"Swine!" Piloswine said, coming out. Lucas threw his Pokéball.
"Go! Houndour!" Chase called out. His Pokéball opened and his Houndour came out to battle.
"Piloswine! Use Mud-Slap!" The boy ordered. The Swine Pokémon sends out a blob of mud toward the Dark Pokémon.
"Dodge and use Ember!" Chase ordered. Houndour dodged and fired Ember, hitting Piloswine.
"Use Ice Fang!" The boy ordered. Piloswine charges at Houndour with its tusks emitting ice.
"Dodge that and use Fire Fang!" Chase ordered. Houndour dodged Piloswine's Ice Fang and lands a bite with Fire Fang.
"Piloswine! Mud-Slap!" The boy ordered. Piloswine sent out a Mud-Slap and struck Houndour. "Use Take Down!" Piloswine rammed into Houndour with Take Down. Piloswine has taken some recoil damage from it. "Use Ice Fang!"
"Ember!" Chase ordered. Houndour fired an Ember in Piloswine's face. "Use Feint Attack!" Houndour vanished for a moment before landing a hit. Piloswine had been taken down. "That was awesome, Houndour!" The Dark Pokémon howled at its victory. The boy calls back Piloswine and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"You're going in, Rhydon!" The Pokéball opened and a Rhydon came out to battle. Chase called back Houndour and took out another Pokéball and threw it.
"You're going in, Quagsire!" Chase called out and his Quagsire came out to battle.
"Rhydon! Use Megahorn!" The boy ordered.
"Surf!" Chase ordered. Quagsire summons a tidal wave and uses it to wash Rhydon in it. "Now, use Mud Bomb!" Quagsire fired a Mud Bomb at the Drill Pokémon.
"Protect!" The boy ordered. Rhydon creates a protective barrier around itself and Quagsire's Mud Bomb bounces off. "Use Horn Drill!"
"Dodge it!" Chase ordered. Rhydon ran very fast toward Quagsire, but Rhydon came too fast for the Water Fish Pokémon to dodge it in time. Quagsire had been taken down. "Quagsire, no!"
"Good job, Rhydon!" The boy said as Rhydon just roared. He calls back Rhydon as Chase calls back his Quagsire.
"Now, time to bring out the Pokémon that are going to decide the winner! Go! Scizor!" The boy called out. His Pokéball opened and his Scizor came on out.
"Okay, a Scizor, huh? Then, I'm gonna go with my Monferno!" Chase called out, letting out his Monferno.
"Scizor! Metal Claw!" The boy ordered.
"Monferno! Use Fire Punch!" Chase ordered. Monferno lands a fiery punch onto Scizor.
"Use Flash Cannon!" The boy ordered. Scizor fired a Flash Cannon at Monferno.
"Dodge it and use Brick Break!" Chase ordered. Monferno dodged Scizor's Flash Cannon and lands a hit with a Brick Break. "Use Fire Punch!" Monferno lands a Fire Punch, knocking out Scizor. "That was awesome!"
"Pika, Pika!" Volt said.
"Monferno, no!" Monferno said.
"Man, I thought you were gonna use that Pikachu of yours, but you're even more awesome than I thought. It's no wonder you came in second in the Pokémon Stadium Cup, Chase," the boy said, calling back his Scizor and took out a book. "I was wondering if I could have an autograph from you. It's just, I'm a huge fan."
"Sure thing, man," Chase said, signing it. "Here you go."
"Thanks for the battle and the autograph!" The boy said.
"No problem," Chase said.
"Looks like you got yourself a fan," Elaine said.
"Yeah, and I'm guessing you have a fan-base, too," Chase said.
"Yeah, maybe. We should go meet up with the others just so they don't wonder where we are," Elaine said.
"Eevee," Maple said.
With that said, Chase, Elaine, Volt, and Maple went back to rejoin their friends.
Back on the lake, the activity began as the students either drew sketches or began writing down their reports. Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Angie, Pikachu, Angel, Piplup and Shinx were looking for a Pokémon to work on a project about, and that's when they spotted some Lanturn-shaped boats.
"Maybe we can check out the Pokémon out in the lake in those boats," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"I'm with Sora. It'll be a great way to observe Pokémon," Dawn said.
"Piplup!" Piplup said.
"It sure would!" Angie agreed. A glimmer shines in the distance, mesmerizing Pikachu and Angel. Sora and Kairi quickly noticed it right away.
"Pikachu, Angel, what's up?" Sora asked. Pikachu and Angel slowly walked over to the shore, still staring where the glimmer was.
"Are you okay?" Kairi asked as she and Sora lightly shook their partners, snapping them out of their funk.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"They look okay, but what was that light just now?" Sora asked.
"I don't know, but it was weird," Kairi said.
"Anyway, let's grab a boat before something else happens," Sora said.
"Okay," Kairi said.
"How about it, Dawn? Let's check the lake Pokémon, too," Lucas said.
"Okay," Dawn said.
"I can ride with you, right?" Angie asked.
"Sure. That one should be big enough for three people," Lucas said.
"Piplup?" Piplup asked, feeling left out. Piplup then started to throw a small tantrum. "Piplup, Piplup, Piplup, Piplup, Piplup!"
"What are you getting upset over? You can swim in the lake," Lucas said. Piplup stopped throwing a fit when he realized Lucas was right, feeling embarrassed.
"That one should be big enough for me and Kairi, so it works out," Sora said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Pikachu, and Angel shared a boat as Lucas, Dawn, and Angie shared another one as Piplup swam alongside Lucas, Dawn, and Angie's boat. Shinx sat on Angie's lap. Their Rotom Phones floats around them to help them out. A Seel and a Poliwag came out of the water.
"Look at that. A Seel and a Poliwag!" Kairi sid.
"Eevee, vee!" Angel said.
"Real cool!" Sora said. A Chinchou came out from the water beside. "And a Chinchou, too!"
"Pika!" Pikachu said.
Horsea and a Huntail swims toward Lucas, Dawn, and Angie in their boat.
"Wow, look at that. A Horsea and a Huntail," Lucas said. He uses his Rotom Phone to get info on Horsea.
Horsea, the Dragon Pokémon
Type: Water
Horsea makes its home in the shade of corals. When it senses danger, it spouts out an ink to escape from its would-be attackers.
"Let's see about Huntail," Dawn said as her Rotom Phone does that for her.
Huntail, the Deep Sea Pokémon
An evolved form of Clamperl
Type: Water
Huntail lives in the deep ocean and it uses its tail as bait to attract its unsuspecting prey. Once the prey is close enough, it swallow its prey whole.
"Wow, that's quite a big mouth it has," Dawn said.
On the shore, a Totodile and a Kingler walk along the shore. Back out in the lake, a Dewgong jumped out of the water.
"Oh, a Dewgong!" Kairi said.
"When he said it was full of all kinds of Water-type Pokémon, they really mean it," Sora said.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Sealeo!" A Sealeo said, poking its head out.
"Look, a Sealeo," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
A Gorebyss swims by Lucas, Dawn, and Angie's boat.
"What's that?" Dawn asked.
"That's a Gorebyss," Lucas said.
"Gorebyss, huh?" Dawn asked she uses her Rotom Phone to scan it.
Gorebyss, the South Sea Pokémon
An evolved form of Clamperl
Type: Water
It makes its homes in the bottom of the sea. During the springtime, its pink body turns more vivid for some reason.
"Another evolved form of Clamperl, huh?" Dawn asked.
"Of course," Conway said, rowing in his boat. "Clamperl is one of those Pokémon that has a branched evolution, much like Eevee, Poliwhirl, Wurmple, Slowpoke, Scyther, Tyrogue, Nincada, and Gloom. To retrieve a Gorebyss, you need a Deep Sea Scale. To retrieve a Huntail, you need a Deep Sea Tooth.
"Why are you here?" Dawn asked.
"To offer my help. My encyclopedic grasp of Pokémon is yours for the asking," Conway said, rowing his boat.
"Too bad nobody asked you anyway," Lucas said.
"You said it," Dawn said.
"Piplup," Piplup said.
"How about we forget about him and do what we came here to do?" Angie asked.
"Okay," Dawn agreed.
With that said, Angie was doing the sketching while Lucas and Dawn were taking notes. Sora and Kairi were doing sketches as well. Sora was taking notes about Poliwag while Kairi was taking one about Chinchou.
"How's it going with that Poliwag, Sora?" Kairi asked.
"Well..." Sora said, showing his girlfriend his sketch. Sora did his best with sketching abilities. "Not as good as Tracey's."
"But you did your best, Sora," Kairi said.
"Thanks, Kairi. You always know what to say. But how about we try a closer look if you know what I mean," Sora said.
"If you're suggesting we try swimming with them, then you've read my mind," Kairi said.
"It looks like Sora and Kairi are planning to swim with the Pokémon down below," Dawn said.
"I think we should go into that, too," Lucas said.
"Yeah, that would be awesome!" Dawn said.
"Piplup!" Piplup said, jumping out of the water.
A few moments later, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, and Angie changed into their swimsuits and swam along with the Pokémon of their choosing. Unknown to them, Conway is observing from underneath. From a different part of the lake, several Heartless appeared underwater. These Heartless consisted of Sea Neons, Sheltering Zones, Screwdivers, Aquatanks, and some other Heartless.
One Heartless greatly resembled a great white shark, but has blue on its upper half and has the Heartless emblem on its chest area and on both sides of its dorsal fins. It also has the yellow Heartless eyes. This Heartless shall be known as the Great Blue Shark.
Another is a white squid-like Heartless with massive tentacles. The Heartless emblem is located on the head. This Heartless shall be known as the Colossal Kraken.
Another is a red orca-like Heartless with the Heartless emblem located on its white underbelly. This Heartless shall be known as the Thriller Whale.
Another is a blue fish-like Heartless with black fins. They have dark blue scales and a light blue underbelly, and the Heartless emblem is located on both sides. This Heartless shall be known as the Bad Fish.
Back with Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Angie, Pikachu, Angel, Piplup, and Shinx came back on the shore.
"You think we should put down what we observed underwater?" Sora asked.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu said.
"I'm sure we can make look good with what we found," Kairi said.
"Eevee, vee," Angel said.
"When it comes to making reports, I'm the worse," Angie said.
"No, that would be me," Lucas said.
"Nope, me," Dawn said as Conway came up from behind.
"Here now, Dawn, for I'll be more than happy to transcribe your thoughts," Conway said.
"Transcribe?" Dawn asked, surprised.
"Elementary, it simply means you do the talking, and I'll write everything you say down and turn it into the perfect report. See?" Conway asked, adjusting his glasses.
"Um, thank you, but I think I have to write the report myself," Dawn said.
"She's right. It doesn't really work if someone else does it for you," Sora said.
"Very well," Conway said. Shinx sees the glimmer of light and wonders aimlessly toward it. "But if you change your mind, I'll be around."
"Something tells me he's going to be waiting for a while for that," Sora whispered to Kairi.
"Yeah, he would," Kairi whispered back.
"Well, let's get back to work before Professor Rowan catches us sitting around and doing nothing," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Hold on!" Angie said as she is looking around.
"What's wrong, Angie?" Kairi asked.
"Shinx suddenly disappeared!" Angie said.
"Come to think of it, Shinx was just here a second ago," Lucas said.
"He couldn't have gone too far," Kairi said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"She's right. Shinx has to be nearby still," Lucas said.
A little while later, everyone was calling out for Shinx.
"Shinx!" Angie called out.
"Shinx, where are you?" Dawn called out.
"Piplup!" Piplup called out.
"Shinx, answer us if you can hear us!" Sora called out.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu called out.
"Eevee!" Angel called out.
"Where could have Shinx gone off?" Lucas asked.
"Let's keep looking," Angie said. The same light as before shines, catching Piplup's attention. Sora and Kairi noticed it as well.
"You see that?" Kairi asked.
"Yeah, I see it," Sora said.
"See what?" Dawn asked. Piplup started to walk toward it. Dawn went up to the Penguin Pokémon. "Piplup, what's wrong?" Piplup snapped out of it. "But why?"
"It was like before?" Sora asked.
"Like before?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah. Sora and I saw it earlier, so Pikachu and Angel's eyes got glassy and they started to walk toward it," Kairi said.
"Maybe what happened to Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup is the same thing with Shinx. Shinx must have seen it and started to walk toward that light," Sora said.
"Interesting. If that is what happened, then, the legend might as well be true," Conway said. Everyone all looked at Conway.
"What legend? What are you talking about?" Lucas asked.
"You see, there's a famous legend, concerning this lake. It says that strange blue light flashes, Pokémon start vanishing," Conway said.
"Vanishing?!" Sora exclaimed in shock.
"I don't like that legend at all," Lucas said.
"I don't neither," Kairi said.
"Well, with Shinx's disappearance, it might have something to do with that legend," Conway said. Sora, Kairi, Lucas, and Dawn to fear it might be the work of the Heartless. They were fearing that the Heartless were somehow luring Pokémon over to them and take their hearts.
"We gotta get to Shinx before the unthinkable happens!" Sora said.
"You're right!" Angie agreed.
"Let's go!" Kairi said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Angie, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup ran toward where the blue flash was coming from.
"Wait, we're not supposed to be far away from the lake!" Conway called after them. He grinned. "I guess if Dawn's going, then there's not much I can do." He chuckled as he followed them.
After a quick change in clothes, the group made a stop to look.
"Don't tell me we lost the trail already!" Angie said.
"Okay, if I remember right, that blue flash has to be-" Dawn was cut off as Conway appeared after he changed into his regular clothes as well.
"It was directly northwest of here," Conway said.
"You know, you don't have to come with us," Dawn said.
"No, no, I want to soak in everything that I possibly can about Pokémon," Conway said as he chuckled.
"Won't we get in trouble for wondering off away from the lake after we were told not to?" Kairi asked.
"I'm sure we would, but I'm sure Professor Rowan would understand when we explain it was only because we were only looking for Shinx," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
They go up even further and they looked around for any signs of the Flash Pokémon in front of a cave. Up in the sky, rain clouds were forming.
"I'm sure Shinx has to be around here somewhere," Conway said.
"But the question is where do we start looking other than that scary-looking cave there?" Lucas asked.
"It's just a good a clue as anything, Lucas," Sora said.
"I don't know about you, but it's giving me the creeps," Dawn said.
"Have no fear, I am here to protect you," Conway said as lightning flashes as it started to rain. "Help me!" Conway ran inside.
"Um, who protects who?" Lucas scoffed.
"Conway has the right idea! We gotta get out of this rain!" Sora said as he, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, Angie, Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup ran inside the cave. After coming inside, the rain became even heavier.
"It's really coming down hard," Lucas said.
"I hope Shinx is okay," Angie said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Pika," Pikachu said.
"Piplup," Piplup said.
"There's nothing we can do but stay in here until it stops," Kairi said. Conway turned and he saw a blue light.
"Look at this!" Conway said. Everyone turned around. "That's right! The legend states the strange blue light comes forth from the Green Cave."
"Well, it looks green to me," Angie said.
"Green as a Politoed's backside," Lucas added.
"So that means the light from the legend is back there?" Dawn asked.
"If it is, then we're gonna find out what it is rather if we want to or not," Lucas said.
"I agree. That gives us a reason to look into it," Kairi said.
"We don't know what it is or what's causing it, so we're gonna have to stay on our toes while we're in here, and deal with whatever it is. And we should stay together because it looks really easy to get lost if we get separated," Sora said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
With that said, they went further into the cave to find Shinx and investigate the strange light. As they walked even further, the light becomes even brighter the further they go.
"There it is. That's the light," Lucas said.
"Shinx has got to be there, I know it," Angie said.
"Then, we better find Shinx and fast," Lucas said.
With that said, they ran toward the blue light and called out for Shinx once again.
"Shinx, where are you?!" Angie called out.
"Shinx! Answer us!" Sora called out.
"Come out, Shinx!" Kairi called out.
"Let us know where you are!" Dawn said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu called out.
"Eevee, Eevee!" Angel called out.
"Piplup!" Piplup called out.
They saw the blue light shining in the water in the pond in front of them.
"It's that blue light again!" Kairi said.
"Quick! Cover your eyes! Don't look at it!" Sora said. Pikachu and Angel quickly covered their eyes. Angel uses her tail to block it from Piplup's view.
"What is it?" Angie asked.
"What is causing it?" Dawn asked.
"I don't know, but it's getting closer," Sora said.
Sora, Kairi, Lucas, and Dawn were prepared for the worse when the blue light was coming closer. The source of the blue light jumped out, revealing itself to be a Lumineon that was making it go off.
"It was only a Lumineon," Kairi said.
"I see. The blue light was originating from Lumineon's tail fins. In fact, that was how it's able to attract prey in the wild," Conway said.
"At least the mystery is finally solved," Sora said.
"That's true, but I find it strange. A Lumineon shouldn't be in a place like this," Conway said.
"You're right, Conway. What would he be doing here?" Kairi asked.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Shinx," a familiar voice said. Angie recognized it. They turned to see Shinx coming toward the lake.
"Shinx!" Angie said. She ran up to the Flash Pokémon. "Come on, Shinx. Snap out of it." Shinx snapped back to normal. The Flash Pokémon nuzzles her. "Oh, Shinx! I can't tell you how worried I was!"
"Shinx, Shinx," Shinx said.
"Shinx is found, safe and sound," Lucas said.
"Yeah, but we found out the mystery of the legend of the blue light, so this would make a great report. Don't you guys think so?" Sora asked.
"I think so," Kairi said.
"Pika, Pika!" Pikachu sid.
"Eevee!" Angel said.
Suddenly, the aquatic Heartless appeared underneath, much to Sora and Kairi's dismay.
"Oh no!" Sora gasped.
"Where did those things come from?" Angie asked.
"They just appeared from out of nowhere," Conway said.
"And they're attacking Lumineon," Dawn said.
"We're gonna have to deal with them!" Sora said.
"Yeah, you're right," Kairi agreed. Lucas and Dawn agreed as well. They summoned their Keyblades, surprising Angie and Conway. They also took off their clothing, showing their swimsuits underneth them. Sora, Kairi, Lucas, and Dawn jumped in the water and engaged the aquatic Heartless. The Sea Neons and Bad Fish swam toward them as Sora slashed through them with his Kingdom Key. Kairi slashed through some Screwdivers with her Destiny's Embrace. Lucas and Dawn engaged the Aquatanks as they swung their fins and then unleashed lightning. Kairi casts a magnet spell, forcing the Heartless out of the water. Sora, Kairi, Lucas, and Dawn jumped out of the water and they finished off the Heartless by slashing at them with their Keyblades.
"Man, I had a feeling they'd show up rather if we wanted them to or not," Sora said.
"Yeah, but those Heartless sure picked a bad time to show up," Lucas said.
"When it comes to the Heartless, there's no such thing as a bad time," Kairi said.
"Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, that was awesome! What were those things, and are those keys you're holding?" Angie asked.
"About that," Sora started. "Those things you saw us fighting are the Heartless. They're creatures that are attracted to the darkness in every heart."
"So that's what they're called. I have been hearing rumors of monsters appearing from different places, but I never actually believed it until now," Conway said.
"But I don't think that's important right now, because we have to observe that Lumineon," Lucas said.
"Right," Sora agreed as he turned to the water. He didn't see Lumineon's light. "Lumineon's gone!"
"He must have gotten scared when those Heartless attacked," Dawn said.
"Maybe, we should go underwater and have a look," Sora said. He took out his Pokéball and threw it. "Come out, Prinplup!" His Pokéball opened and Prinplup came out. "Okay, Prinplup. Let's go and see if we can find a Lumineon. But keep watch out for a blue light."
"Plup," Prinplup said.
With that said, Sora and Prinplup swam down to the bottom. Sora and Prinplup didn't find Lumineon, but they found a tunnel instead. Back on the surface while everyone were waiting for Sora nd Prinplup to come back up, Kairi notices something on a rock.
"What's that?" Kairi asked. She and Angel walked over to the rock and saw it was seaweed. Sora and Prinplup came back up.
"Sora, did you see anything?" Dawn asked.
"No, Lumineon's gone," Sora said.
"Prin," Prinlup said.
"But Prinplup and I saw a tunnel down at the bottom of the lake, so he must have used that to swim out of here," Sora said.
"A tunnel?" Angie asked.
"But Lumineon will be back, and probably later," Kairi said.
"What makes you say that, Kairi?" Lucas asked.
"Well, it's a known fact Lumineon lives out in the ocean, right?" Kairi asked.
"That would be 100% correct, Kairi. And that is a logical assumption," Conway said.
"But that doesn't answer why Lumineon's been coming in here," Sora said.
"No, but I think this will answer. Have a look at this rock. It's covered with seaweed. This seaweed is a favorite food for Water-type Pokémon, and judging by how it looks, I would say Lumineon's been coming in here a lot just to eat this seaweed at his own leisure since there weren't of any other signs of fish Pokémon like Magikarp or Goldeen," Kairi said.
"Wow, excellent detective work," Conway said.
"You can tell all that just by looking?" Angie asked.
"Kairi isn't just a pretty face, she has a brain to back it up," Sora said, making Kairi blush.
"Sora," Kairi said, feeling embarrassed.
"Sounds like we're gonna give a great report," Dawn said.
"We sure would," Lucas agreed.
"And don't forget my transcribing offer is still standing," Conway said.
"Maybe that'll be fine," Dawn said.
A little while later, everyone stepped out of the cave when it has stopped raining.
"The rain stopped," Lucas said.
"Hey, look up there!" Dawn said, making everyone look up to see a rainbow.
"Look at that!" Sora said.
"Such a beautiful rainbow," Kairi said.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said.
"Eevee," Angel said.
"Well, we might as well head back and face the music," Sora said.
"Right," Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, and Angie said as everyone was starting to head back as Conway just smiled.
"Not a sad face to be seen," Conway said. He started to catch up with the others. Once they returned, Professor Rowan has chewed them out for leaving the area after being told not to, but they did explain the reason behind it and what they found behind the reason, leaving out the Heartless attacking.
"And so, the Lumineon travels through the cave, using an underwater tunnel to make its way from its home in the ocean," Angie said as Kairi holds up the sketch.
"Then, it flashes a light from its four tail fins," Dawn said.
"And that blue light has the ability to lure other Pokémon right to it," Sora said.
"I know because it lured my Shinx into the cave," Angie said.
"And it had the same affect on Pikachu, Angel, and Piplup here," Lucas said.
"So, we have concluded that Lumineon goes in and out of the tunnel from the lake to the ocean to eat the seaweed that Water-type Pokémon loves to eat," Kairi said.
"And that concludes our report," Dawn said. Everyone all applaud the group of five as Professor Rowan approaches them.
"An exceptional report indeed. So, I reward you all a full 10 points," Professor Rowan said.
"Alright!" Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, and Angie all said in unison. Professor Rowan cleared his throat, letting them know what was coming next.
"However, you all left the lake area without asking for our permission first. You have any idea how worried we were?" Professor Rowan asked.
"Yes," Sora, Kairi, Lucas, Dawn, and Angie said in unison.
"For breaking the rules we will be deducting four points from each of you, giving you all six points," Professor Rowan's assistant said.
"We realize we broke the rules, and we accept," Kairi said.
"Glad you think so, Kairi. And as for you, Conway. You will be losing four of your points as well," Professor Rowan's assistant said.
"Hey, that's not a problem. That's less points than I was expecting," Conway said.
"I have to admit, I wasn't expecting Lumineon to make it back here so soon. Earlier than usual this year," Professor Rowan said.
As the third day has reached its conclusion, the students were cleaning the classroom for the next day.
"Man, I can't believe we lost four points just when we got a perfect score and everything," Lucas said.
"Look at the bright side, Lucas. It was worth seeing that Lumineon," Angie said.
"I'm with Angie. We knew we'd get in trouble, but we still made it look good," Kairi said.
"And we only have seven more days to spend," Sora said.
The third day of the Pokémon Summer Academy has concluded with a fruitful encounter with a Lumineon. What else is coming their way in the next days to come? Well, you'll have to wait and see.
