It seems that Percy isn't going to be rescued and she may not be like the letter said their actions affect her as well. But then again she may be rescued.
But I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who has interacted with this story and feel free to leave your ideas or your theories for me to see.
I hope you all enjoy it.
Chapter 14Ares was in his chambers laying in his bed looking up at the top of the canopy of his bed. The Olympians had nothing, they were being led in circles, they were basically still at the start, they had gotten no further except verifying what they had already known this guy was pure evil. They had no idea who he was, Ares himself thought that this person had to be extremely powerful, more powerful than any of the gods on mount olympus. He prayed that they would at least come up with some idea of who he could be.
His eyes closed allowing for him to fall into a deep sleep. It was rare for the god of war to dream. But it seemed tonight wasn't one of those nights. At first he thought he had just woken up in his room yet again for it didn't seem like much had changed the canopy curtains were the same blood red as normal, the red bedspread with black at the bottom everything seemed the same he pushed himself onto his elbows to get a closer look around the room, his eyes fell upon a sword that was propped up against his desk, the sword wasn't one of his, he knew what every single one of his weapons look like. It wasn't his. But it was familiar to him. It was,no, it couldn't be, it was riptide. Jacksons sword. Ok this was definitely a dream Ares was sure of that now. He got out of bed and heard light footsteps coming towards the door, before he had a chance to react the door opened and in stepped Percy jackson. She was wearing a floor length nightgown that was a little sheer. It was a nice light blue colour with a small silver belt around her waist, her hair was falling freely down her back it looked like she had just woken up. Ares froze; he wasn't expecting to see her, let alone in a dream. She looked gorgeous even though she looked clearly tired as she rubbed her stunning eyes. He couldn't take his eyes off of her and when she smiled at him he genuinely thought his heart stopped. Wait could he… is he… is he in love with her. No that can't be right if he was in love with her then he would have thought so a while ago, right. "Ares?" came her voice it was so small and
delicate much like her own physic as she stepped towards him, her steps barely audible. "Are you just going to stare at me all day or are you going to talk to me?"she smirked, coming to stand right in front of him, her voice playful. He looked down at her, she was truly tiny compared to him, her head only just reaching where his heart would be. He couldn't help but smile at her words. She was looking at him with a playful smirk and when she saw him smiling she turned on her heels and walked to the bed sitting in it. Patting the bed as an indication she wanted him to join her to which he gladly complied. Sitting down he found himself unable to look away from her, she looked healthier than she had when they saw her in the iris message in fact she looked alot like she did when he had ran into her after the seven had been given immortality. She leaned her head onto his shoulder smiling. "You ok?"she asked.
"I suppose so," he said looking down at her.
"Can I ask you something?"
"If you want to,"
"What do I do?"
"What do you mean?"
"When I'm afraid, what do I do?"
"Well pretend you aren't have faith in those you care for you."
His eyes never left hers as he answered his question and there was something present in her eyes. Fear. She was genuinely afraid. He didn't know why he did it but he moved his arm to wrap it round the back of her shoulders she stiffened for a moment before melting into his touch once more.
"Where are you?"he asked.
"What do you mean?"she asked with her small hand drawing lazy circles on his arm.
"We can't find you?"
"Well then that seems rather strange im here with you just like i have been since we started dating,"
What they were dating in his dream he was dating percy Jackson. His chest swelled at the idea. But he could have sworn that Percy had some control over what was happening.
"I'm not really here though am I"asked percy
"No,"
"Is this your dream or mine?" she asked, her voice wavering. She understands what is happening, she has some understanding, wait, hang on doesn't that mean. No it can't be but that would make sense, the sudden protectiveness of her, the sudden jealousy all of it.
"Both of ours,"
Next thing he knew he had woken up from the dream. They had communicated through their dreams. He didn't know if she understood that they were communicated through the dreams but he knew that part of it was definitely a dream and some of it she had some control over. It was official he was in love with her and not only that but she was his soulmate only soulmates can communicate through dreams like that. He had a soulmate. She was his soulmate. His soulmate beat him in a fight when she was twelve. His soulmate was in the hands of some lunatic that was possibly in love with her. One this was for certain Uncle Hades' plan had to help them draw some conclusion on who has her. It just has to.
Ares didn't sleep much for the rest of the night. Instead, he just sat there going over everything he knew about what had been happening. Point one the person who had Percy obviously had to be incredibly powerful that was a given. Two Percy had to be somewhere that was protected from the mortal world, it made him think of his siblings Apollo and Artemis Perhaps there's something there. Next, this guy seems to have some form of power over darkness and shadows and clearly was a sick sadistic bastard who didn't care for the fact that he was actually harming Percy, if this was his sick way of showing he loved her then the man was truly delusional. But it made Ares think would Percy love him? Granted she is his soulmate but that doesn't mean she will love him as he will her. If anything she has every right to hate his very existence, if Percy doesn't know about the fact that they are Soulmates, then he will not tell her until she is safe and 100% ready for it. Should he tell her at all? What if she felt compelled to love him because they were soulmates and not because she really did love him. Wouldn't that be the same thing as what this guy could be doing? No, he wasn't gonna tell her not yet and if she wants to give whatever they could have a shot, then he would do it properly and perhaps maybe one day explain to her the whole soulmate thing , but he wasn't going to base their entire relationship on it.
Thankfully in the meeting room all the other Olympians had similar thoughts to him. In fact, everyone had the same thoughts. Artemis and Apollo had both gotten together the evening before and discussed how Percy could be on island that was similar to the one they were born on. It was the only thing that actually makes sense. Even olympian agreed with them. It would make percy's note make so much sense. They have scoured pretty much the entire Earth at this point. What if they're looking for magic that was so deep and powerful that this person had created an island much like delos, it would make a lot more sense, Hades, Zeus and Poseidon all agreed with that and said that was probably the best lead they had. In truth it was probably the only solid lead they had. So they would have to talk to hecate to see if she might be able to track this very island. When Athena had given them the story of what happened to the other girls. It may have given them the biggest clue of who this person could be. Athena told them that every girl seemed to disappear without anyone knowing, not a single person had a trace of them. In fact, Athena didn't even know if they were dead or not for all they knew these girls could be made immortal. Because Hades said there was no soul in the Underworld that knew anything, given that he had asked them after hearing what had been said in the letters.
Athena realised that these girls have been put through several trials. Why she had no clue, but these trials tested them in multiple different ways in ways of strength, Obedience, the brains even well things that you would use powers on, but that was the thing none of the other girls were Demigods like Percy they were just mortals, Percy seems to be the outlier of the group for that reason. all the girls were incredibly gorgeous. There was no doubt in that, but it's as unclear as to What happened to them? Athena came to the conclusion that it's possible the only way for them to free Percy. Was for them to help her complete all the tasks. This guy had to be keeping her there with some sort of shield like the ghost woman had said if they could just get to the island or at least one of them get to the island they could hide. And Perhaps help percy in some way.
"But what's bizarre to me is that I can't seem to find anyone who would fit this description on olympus. Hell my first thought was the titans but like hades said they were all locked away." Athena said, running her hand through her hair as they all looked at the evidence in front of them.
"Yep, the first thing I did was check Tartarus. All of the titans and all of the villains we caught there."said Hades
"I think this would be the one time I'd be ok with it being a titan who took her," growled poseidon. Everyone looked at the sea god in surprise. "I wouldn't be ok with it but I would like it to be someone obvious because we wouldn't still be at square one and she would be back home."elaborated the sea god. Everyone understood what he was saying. They hated that this guy has been playing them like a fiddle and they are still at square one.
"I hate to say it but what if its a…"began Hestia, "what if its a primordial?"
A primordial. No she couldnt be taken by a primordial could she.
"That would make a lot of sense," Athena said. "They would definitely have power for it but who and how many are involved. What if more are involved i mean i wouldn't be surprised,"
"Well that gives us an idea of who and where," said hera, "hades could you see what Hecate could do about tracking that island."
"I can try,"
The meeting was a greater success than the ones they have had previously, granted everything was just theories but it was better than staying at square one like they had been. If only that knew what the other trials were then maybe they would be able to find a way to help percy in them. Ares was glad that they had some sort of idea where and who could have taken her. But what if they were wrong?
"It's her isn't it?" asked Aphrodite after everyone had left the room to do what they could to help in the search.
"What?"
"You can't honestly believe i wouldn't know,"
Ares huffed, "yes it is?"
Aphrodite looked like she was going to jump for joy and declare it to all of Olympus but before she could, Ares stopped her. "I don't want anyone to know not yet,"
"What, you don't want anyone to know she's your soulmate?"
"No,"
"Why?"
"It's dangerous and i want her to be with me because she wants to and not because she doesn't want to hurt my feelings"
"I understand, let's hope these theories lead somewhere and we can bring her home. She has been gone for far too long."
