Chapter 78: Tiny Mascots!
Turns out it was a bad idea to bring a bunch of students on a raid like that. For the time being all Work Studies was halted.
Though it wasn't that bad, of course Sir Nighteye told Izuku that once they got the okay to do it again he would be rehired.
Plus the two could always email each other to just talk so it wasn't all that bad.
Eri had become a lot happier too knowing that Chisaki was locked away.
Though there was a bit weakness when Mirio talked to Amajiki once he was out of the hospital.
The two of them had been friends since they were in grade school.
In fact Mirio inspired Amajiki's hero name.
"I can't help it Mirio!" he said not looking at his best friend.
"I know it's weird, but I'm still a guy on the inside." Said Mirio, "And just picture me still being a guy."
"I just want to go home…" mumbled Amajiki.
He would get over it soon enough though…
Also Shoto got a message that cheered up the Magical Girls.
"Wait? Really?" asked Ochaco.
Shortly after the License Exam, Shoto found out though Inasa that the real Camie was found.
He had gotten a rather sweet message, namely the HPSC had allowed Camie into the
Remedial classes for the license.
"Good for her." Said Tsuyu.
"Considering what happened to her I think she deserves this chance." Said Tenya.
"I hope she passes the class." Said Izuku.
Shoto nodded in agreement and sent a message to Inasa about how his partners were congratulating her.
But of course the biggest thing was the vestiges.
They learned the rules about adding them to the telepathy, as the initially thing happened due to the telepathy being on when Toshinori awakened the quirk.
When he extends the telepathy to Toshinori he could also extend to the three vestiges who can join. But he could just to open it up to Toshinori or just one or two of them after a few easy telepathy tests./
As it turned out En (who was the name of the sixth user) explained how Toshinori partially awakened his quirk years ago.
After getting his injury whenever he forcibly reverted to his thin from he would smoke (which was far different than Izuku's puff of smoke). As En's Quirk was Smoke screen…
"Oh… that makes sense… no one could explain it before." thought Toshinori during the nightly group call which including the vestiges this time.
"I think we need to check out the connection the vestiges has to your powers." Thought Izuku.
"What do you mean?" asked Toshinori.
It's only those three." Explained Izuku, "First makes sense."
The first holder didn't want to say his name at the moment which made some sense.
"But Daigoro and En, you have use of their quirks… and the fact they're connected to the telepathy… means there's something connected to your magical girl powers." Explained Izuku.
"That does make sense…" said Melissa.
"Maybe we should run some tests because it does sound like there's more to the telepathic connection." Agreed the first holder.
And so the next day after this conversation Toshinori reserved one of the training grounds so they can safely figure it out.
Though it was also amusing to the teachers about him resolving the training ground.
"Wait… Midoriya is going to train you?" asked Midnight as she saw him working on the paperwork.
"yes… it's because I haven't figured out much of my magical girl power up." Said Toshinori.
"It's been months though…" said Midnight with a sweat drop.
"I know…" said Toshinori with a sweat drop, "Just some stuff came up."
It was clear to the fellow teacher she was referring to something during the Chisaki fight.
And so that afternoon Izuku and Toshinori were at the training grounds.
Toshinori transomed into her magical girl form.
Izuku opened up Telepathy to just Toshinori and the vestiges.
"So what do I do exactly?" asked Toshinori.
"How were able to use One for All before?" mentally asked Izuku.
"It just came naturally to me." Explained Toshinori.
They all mentally sighed.
"That's really not going to help." Explained the first.
"Maybe if you if you feel the quirk." Thought Izuku, "That might help."
"Okay…" said Toshinori out loud .
She closed her eyes and felt 7 small lights, 3 of them were brighter. And then she felt it. She could grab the brother lights and put them somewhere else was the best description on what to do.
Outside her gems glow as three little lights appeared in front of her.
Toshinori opened her eyes when there was a shout of "WHAT THE FUCK!"
Izuku was also gaped at the sight.
Because floating in front of Toshinori were three little creatures similar in build to Izuku's mascot form but so much smaller. Like Izuku in his mascot form could snuggle with them like a stuffed toy.
They all had adorable animal ears but it hard to pin down the shape and they also had somewhat long tails which was once again hard to pin down what animal. And all three of them had a small gem on their forehands that looked like a mini version of Izuku's.
All three of them were freaking out.
"Is this really happening!" said very fluffy white one that spoke with the first holders
"This is stand…" said one that that was covered in block fur that spoke with En's voice.
"Oh man!" yelled one with Daigoro's voice that was hairless, "I'm still bald!"
"That's not the thing we should be worried about." Said the first holder.
Izuku took out a notebook from somewhere.
"Okay!" said Izuku entering a mutter storm, "You can summon the vestiges you have a connection in the form of smaller mascots… then that might be… that's it!"
They all stared at him.
"I think that you have some sort of up for All Might! Maybe a power-up version if your quirk and for the 1st holder something similar to the power up I gave when I use One for All!" said Izuku.
"Oh! That makes sense." Said Toshinori.
"Yeah… that does explosion it." Said Daigoro.
"So should one of us try?" asked En.
"I'll do it!" said the 1st holder.
"Okay!" said Toshinori.
The First holder took a breath. A light appeared from the gem. Toshinori grabbed the light. Toshinori's costume turned into a red costume with a cape, a frilly skirt a lighter red, white gloves and boots.
"Oh wow!" said Toshinori.
The first holders suddenly squeed and then cover his mouth in embarrassment.
"I'm sorry!" he apologized, "I remember seeing fan art of that costume years ago from a fan that did fan art of a Magical Girl AU she had… and it's just weird that I see it in real life."
"What?" asked Izuku and Toshinori at the same.
"I'm a fan boy for a pre-quirk comic…" said the first holder blushing.
"I get it…" said Izuku.
First holder nodded remembering how big of a fan boy Izuku was.
"It's true, I can feel like when Izuku used the power the One for All Power up." Said Toshinori feeling it.
She also felt how to get rid of the costume going back to her magical girl costume.
"are you two going to try it?" asked Izuku.
"No." both of them of them.
"Is that because you don't want to see magical girl version of your hero costumes?" asked the first holder.
"Pretty much." Daigoro.
"I really don't want to see it." Said En.
"Yeah, seventh would be the only who would want to see it." Said the first holder.
Toshinori's eyes widened when they brought up the 7th holder.
"Do you think it's possible that I can unlock Float next?" asked Toshinori.
"She's probably told you a lot about it, so I think so." Said the First Holder with a kind smile.
Toshinori nodded knowing that would be the best one to go for and unlock next.
"So I guess all of the magical girl costumes you all give will be the costumes that were your hero costumes." Said Izuku.
"Actually second, third and fourth weren't heroes." Said the first holder.
"Really?" asked Izuku surprised.
"Yeah, second and third were fighters against my brother." Said the first holder.
"Oh wow." Said Izuku, "Wait what about the fourth."
"Uh… he should be the one explain it." Said Daigoro.
It should be noted that fourth holder was a hermit who lived in the woods.
"I don't think I should use this power up though." Admitted Toshinori.
"I get it." Said Izuku, "You are trying to trying to keep it a secret."
"Though I think you should do this in private when you can." Said En.
Toshinori got what he was saying: Let us out sometimes so we're not trapped in the quirk.
"Of course." Laughed Toshinori.
"Actually… I think you should use mine under one condition." Said the first holder.
"What?" asked Toshinori.
"Should my brother escape Tartarus and regained his eye sight." Said the first holder, "I want to see the look on his face as he's beaten up by a magical girl version of Captain Hero."
They all looked at the first holder.
"What?" asked Izuku and Toshinori at the same.
"His brother was also a fanboy of the same comics." Said En, "But a fan of the villain."
"He didn't even read the end of the comics and just like the pretend that the villain won." Said the first holder.
The other two just sweated at the revelation.
"That… is just…" sighed Toshinori unsure how to word.
"We get it." Said Daigoro and En at the same time.
The first holder sighed, after all he knew that the petty fanboy relationship between him and his brother was well known between the two brothers among the vestiges.
Toshinori and Izuku let the three vestige Mascot just enjoy being out for a bit as they talked about other things.
Namely an idea that Izuku had involving Eri's quirk.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" asked Toshinori.
"I plan to ask them first of course!" said Izuku.
"I understand Mirio but those three…" said Toshinori.
Izuku sighed…
"If they want I'll let them." Said Izuku.
Toshinori sighed.
"Tsuyu wasn't interested in becoming a magical girl in the first place, Shoto was an accident and Tenya… well I think he might want to keep it but I don't know." Sighed Izuku.
"Why do you think they'd want to break it?" asked Toshinori.
Izuku didn't answer.
But Toshinori could tell, it stemmed from his past, he know the boy was bullied as a child for his quirk. And even with the love and support he had now the mental scars were still there.
She sighed.
"It will be fine no matter what." Said Toshinori trying to figure out what to say.
Izuku nodded.
"Have you talk to anyone else?" asked Toshinori.
"I managed to talk to Ochaco and Kacchan but I do plan to talk to others I don't plan to break the bond with." Said Izuku.
Toshinori nodded.
Izuku became quiet… it was clear a new topic was needed.
"Oh I should tell you about my master." Said Toshinori, "Because I hope you'll be able to meet her soon."
Izuku perked up.
And so Toshinori told him about Nana Shimura, the seventh holder of One for All.
While also silently hoping that the three would help Izuku realize that his quirk wasn't a burden to others…
