Disclaimer: I know the title's not the most creative. I couldn't think of any other good titles for a chapter about showing how hard work and training can be as helpful as a real superpower. Oh well, the title isn't always the selling point. Let's get into some more dogs doing hero stuff!
Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.
Paw Patrol X
Powered Up Pooches arc Episode Seventeen: More Than One Kind Of Power
Wave was having a sparring match with Marshall in the training room. Her current training session was testing her automail arm's current capabilities of withstanding heat. Since Automail conducted heat, they had to be careful about how much Wave's arm could take. So Marshall shot a small wave of fire from his paw. Wave put her paw up to let the test commence. "Let me know when to stop Wave."
"Got it." Wave was able to withstand the fire easily, since she couldn't feel pain with her automail arm. However, it started to get overheated after about thirty seconds of observation. "That's good!" Marshall stopped shooting fire upon Wave's command. She moved her arm out of the way as soon as she made it. When looking at her arm, she saw a fire mark. It started fading as she commented on how it handled heat. "I didn't doubt Rocky for a second. This arm's heat resistance is strong." Marshall smiled when putting a paw on Wave's shoulder. "Yipe!"
However, he forgot to deactivate his meteorite, leading to a small burn on Wave's shoulder. "Sorry, sorry!" Marshall helped Wave rub off her burn pain after deactivating his meteorite. "I think that three months you spent building it up had something to do with it. If you went this far right away, you probably would've given out just as fast."
Wave laughed a bit as she thought about that scenario. "Boy am I glad that didn't happen." Her stomach growled after she laughed a bit more. Hatching an idea, she instantly shared it with Marshall. "It's about lunchtime now. You up for burgers?"
"Just as long as this pun doesn't steal your appetite."
"Insert groan here."
Wave and Marshall left the training room to go and prepare lunch. Wave was beyond happy she could still cook with her new arm. Marshall smirked when he sensed her joy over that. "Be honest Wave. You were gonna try to cook with one arm if Rocky didn't plan your new arm, weren't you."
"Heck yeah! My arm may be gone, but appetites only die with food!" Wave answered proudly. Marshall smiled as well after hearing that. He could tell that Wave's dreams would never die as long as she was around. Also, in case you missed it, Marshall's pun was about how burger kinda sounds like burglar.
During the Paw Patrol's lunch, Slash and Victoria were sitting in front of the main monitor. They were waiting for a countdown to end so they could make a new announcement. Victoria was itching to start, which she almost did. But Slash caught her with a grin on his face. "Ah! Nice try Victoria. You're trying to start early."
Victoria noticed Slash about to press his own starting button. This made her smile as she pointed it out. "You're trying to start early too!"
"Okay, okay. Let's wait until the timer ends." Slash said. However, the timer didn't stop when they looked at the buttons again.
Slash and Victoria both reached for their starting buttons. However, they both caught each other and pointed once they noticed. "Ahhhh!"
"You don't want to wait, so you're going to press it early!" Slash pointed out before sharing Victoria's excitement. "It's times like this I wish we had time bending powers."
"If only. Then maybe, I could stop time, and punch Liberty over and over again!" Victoria added, laughing crazily after she did.
Just then, the timer reached its end, much to Slash and Victoria's delight. "Timer's done! Time for fright!"
Slash and Victoria pressed their buttons. However, once they did, and monitors opened up all over the city, Victoria realized something. "Wait; it's March."
"Does it matter? We're all being terrible together." Slash reminded Victoria, being more than happy about this announcement. He stepped into the middle once the monitors came on completely.
From Slash's monitor, Wave and the others were entering one by one upon Rubble's call. "Guys; Slash is on TV! And he totally interrupted my show!"
Once they were all in the room, Slash got to making his announcement known for the entire city. "Don't worry Paw Patrol, Adventure City, anyone outside who's trembling in fear. You know me as Slash Ralston. And you know this mad scientist as Victoria Vance."
Victoria signaled Humdinger to come on over after standing up. "Get over here Tophat!"
Humdinger rushed on over, but his presence didn't surprise the others. "And you also know me as Humdinger! Bet you didn't see THAT coming Paw Patrol."
"Nah, we did. It was our first guess when your body went missing." Claw revealed, and then he commented on something else. "I hate those portal things by the way."
"All the more reason to use them." Slash responded, and then he got back on topic. "But enough chit chat, as if we had the time for it anyway." Slash went into full menacing mode, and monitors all over the city were shown one by one. During this, every citizen in the city was cowering in fear. "You know who I am. You know why I'm hosting this announcement. You know what to expect from my army." Victoria threw a chair across the room as Slash announced his ultimate plan. "This is your warning for the attack that will destroy Adventure City tomorrow!"
Slash snapped his fingers, spawning several demons and super demons behind him. Slash looked back at the super demon with one particular feature. When he grabbed its horn, he pulled it up and revealed it to the others. "Ah, yes. Our special guest."
Arrby was at the Lookout too, and he instantly caught onto what the eye patch on the Super Demon meat. He was beyond horrified by the sight of it. "Oh god. Sid!" Arrby could barely contain himself. Liberty tried to help, but his emotions kept spiraling. Seeing Sid in that state made him enraged and horrified beyond all belief. "You monsters! You won't have Sid forever! I'll save him! Just you watch!"
"And how prey tell, will you do that, without finding the one who infected him?" Slash asked, stumping Arrby. But he didn't drop his glare. Slash and Victoria grinned at each other before looking back at the screen. "I could've planned this attack during any of your recent events. But I wanted to be extra prepared, and decided to let you spend some final moments with your loved ones." Slash extended his claws as he revealed the true meaning behind it. "Because then, it's so much more soul crushing for those who witness said loved ones perish!"
Wave and the others glared at Slash, leaving Rocky and Charm to step forward. Rocky was the first to object to the idea of Slash winning. "You can prepare as much as you want Slash! We beat you once, we'll do it again!"
Charm took his knife out as he backed Rocky up. "Something tells me that things on your end are about to get a little, bit, bloody."
"Awwww, my sons think they'll be worth crap in this battle. Isn't that adorable?" Slash said condescendingly. He sighed of discontentment, giving a look of sorrow with what he said next. "It's a shame. You two could've been lovely adversaries to my army." He clenched his fist as he showed a bit of rage towards this. "If only you weren't both, so, pointlessly empathetic!" Slash then calmed himself down with a deep breath. His grin returned as he spoke again. "Even so... it's nice that you're so spirited. Killing those who don't try is so... boring."
Wave, Chase, and Ryder stepped forward next. However, this time, Wave was the one to speak. As she did, she showed Slash her new arm. "Don't misunderstand these words Slash. I'm obviously still mad about my arm. Almost anyone would be." Wave glared at Slash with determination. "But I'm going to help take you down, and my reason will be to protect the people of this city, and the world they inhabit. Regardless of whether or not we actually fight, I'll make sure you're taken down again."
Slash was more than satisfied to hear those words. He loved the tenacity Wave showed every time she fought. "That's just what I hope for from you." Slash got to finishing his announcement, knowing it already went on for quite a bit. "You can train all you want. You can prepare as much as you'd like. You can hope as hard as possible. But it still won't be enough to stop me." Just before Slash ended the announcement for real, he looked directly in the center of the monitor. His parting words showed his own sense of tenacity. "I never stay down."
And with that, the announcement was over. Wave and the others knew there was no time to waste. Ryder wasted no time in giving the team their commands. "You heard him guys. We only have one day to prepare. So everyone, train as hard as you can, push your powers to whatever limits you can, and be as ready as can be. Tomorrow, we fight to protect Adventure city!" Wave and the others cheered upon Ryder's orders. They were all ready to stick it to Slash and his army.
Wave was on the of the HQ with Marshall, Snow, Liberty, and Arrby. They were having a five Canine free for all, as shown when Liberty and Arrby collided a tackle. Once they jumped back, Snow flew past them and regained her balance. Wave dashed at her and aimed a strong punch at her. Her automail arm proved to be adjusting to sparring quite well, as Snow blocked it, and it survived just fine. Snow aimed a spin kick at Wave after that, and she blocked it. She saw Marshall aim a flying kick at her, which she dodged, causing Marshall to hit Snow.
Liberty, with her wound fully healed, charged at Marshall with Arrby. Marshall dodged her tackle and blocked a headbutt from Arrby. Since Liberty and Arrby were Dachshunds, they couldn't punch and kick like dogs with bigger legs. But they made due with what they could do. Liberty used her stretchy powers to grab Marshall from above. He noticed this and tried to give her a small flame touch. However, he failed to burn her, causing him to look at Arrby.
Arrby was giving a smug grin as he held Marshall's meteorite shard in his paw. Liberty attempted to destretch and strike Marshall from above. Snow saw this and decided to intervene after throwing Wave over her shoulder. Wave used her automail arm to punch the roof and drag across it. Snow used her creation powers to make a boomerang, throwing it as hard as she could at Liberty. Her angle was just right, as it hit Liberty on the butt and made her miss. After she tumbled, Wave kicked Snow back once she turned around before dashing at Liberty.
Liberty attempted to use her stretchy powers on Wave after she shook her tumble off. Wave dodged her stretch tackle and elbowed her on the side. Arrby used this supposed distraction to tackle her, but Wave jumped and side rolled over him to dodge. She then grabbed his bandana, pulling it enough to make him release Marshall's meteorite. Wave kicked the meteorite over to Marshall, who caught it after blocking Snow's kick. He put it back in and dodged Snow's punch before colliding one with her.
After that, Wave and the others took a little breather. They were at this for ten minutes straight, so two minutes of breath should help. Liberty walked over to Arrby, kissing his cheek to congratulate him. "You were awesome Arrby. I knew you could keep up with us."
"Thanks Libby." Arrby said, nuzzling Liberty as he thanked her. Ever since Liberty and Arrby got together, Arrby's been feeling less lost. He was still desperate to save Sid, but now, he was more composed; he could wait for a plan now. Of course, now Sid was coming to him, but still. And that was part of what was driving Arrby. "Just one more day. And this time, I won't screw it up."
Wave, Marshall, and Snow walked over to Liberty and Arrby. Snow had some words of wisdom for Arrby before they went in. "Pro tip. If the worst case scenario happens, don't take it out on those close to you."
Arrby smiled and nodded in appreciation. Marshall rubbed Wave's head when giving some advice to her as well. "You think you'll be able to obey Ryder this time Wave?"
"Of course Marshall. I've got this bad girl to remind me!" Wave assured Marshall, looking at her Automail arm as she thought about the last battle. "It's funny." She clenched her fist when she explained what that was. "It took losing my arm to learn something so valuable." Marshall smiled when thinking about Wave's growth. He couldn't help but be proud of her now. Wave then felt energized enough to keep going. She checked in with everyone else before acting. "Okay! Who's ready to keep going!?"
"Me; me!" Liberty shouted, rushing in to join Wave in more sparring. The two fought one on one while everyone else rested. Marshall sat down next to Snow, who was sitting next to Arrby. They all smiled at each other when watching Wave and Liberty spar as they rested up a little more. No matter what came their way, or what they felt, those two were always full of energy, and ready for their next trial.
Chase and Claw were in the training room, and their training method was testing how much they could lift to enhance their strength and durability. They were currently lifting eight hundred pounds and five hundred pounds respectively. It was a tough call for both of them, but they managed quite well. However, in between every successful lift...

...they were farting. Because of course they were. It was Chase and Claw after all. At least they had air fresheners. And an open window.
Chase and Claw set their weights down and sat up. Chase wiped his forehead as he counted his latest lift. "That's one hundred and twenty lifts."
"Darn." Claw caught his breath as he commented on how far he went. "I'm only at one hundred."
"That's still pretty good." Chase said encouragingly. He knew he and Claw were both giving it their all for the upcoming battle. "Hey. After this, you wanna start training our powers? I think it would help to test my speed and your timing." Claw was lying down, smiling as he thought about Chase's idea. "I can dash at you as fast as I can, and you can spawn your shield as fast as YOU can."
Claw took a liking to that. He gave Chase an intrigued look when he responded. "Sounds gratifying to me. So long as you don't mind me showing a bit of dishonor."
Chase snickered a bit due to knowing what claw meant there. "I think I can handle it. Just save your best for the enemies, okay?"
"I'll do my best." Claw said when he and Chase got ready to lift again. Once they got their lifts, they held them with all their strength and pushed them upward. And once they did, out came another fart from both of them...
PFFFFFFFFFFT
PHHHHHHHHHHT
...After that, Claw made Chase laugh with what he said next. "Yep. I'm definitely using that move tomorrow." Chase and Claw continued lifting, putting as much strength as they could into their training.
At a private spot in the park, Rocky, Zuma, Everest, and Charm were putting the tests to the others powers, and Charm's reflexes. Zuma and Everest were using their ice bullet powers on Charm, who was using a pipe Rocky threw at him to deflect them all. Charm was able to dodge and deflect them all with ease. He even grabbed one and started using that to break the bullets, just to show off. This didn't make it any harder for him either. He was an expert at pin point accuracy. Still, the other three were impressed, even after how long they've known Charm for.
When they stopped, Charm showed confusion. His excitement to continue was clear. "Why'd you stop? I could do this all day!"
"We know. We just didn't wanna dwain the pond." Zuma explained, looking down at the ducks after kneeling down to them. "You little duck dudes need as much water as you can get. So we'll stop this pawt of our twaining here." The ducks quacked in response, glad the Paw Patrol were here to protect them.
Everest then brought up something about Zuma's powers that seemed to catch her attention. "At least now, you're getting better at using nature's water. That should help a lot in case you run out of what you already have."
"That's the idea." Zuma said with a thumbs up, wanting to be as prepared as could be for any given threat.
Just then, Charm kicked the pipe up and sent it towards Rocky. Rocky caught it with his powers before calling Charm out. "What was that about!?"
Charm took out two knives, being ready to see what Rocky had in store. "A calling my brother! I want to see if your will is as strong as that steel!"
Rocky saw what Charm was getting at. He brought another unused pipe to him after he did. "I guess that's fair. I gotta do something today after all." Rocky and Charm charged at each other, colliding one pipe and one knife respectively. "And just like you, I'll try to make every strike count!" Rocky and Charm continued colliding blade strikes, prompting Zuma and Everest to get at it as well. Zuma decided to start using his own water for this, even though Everest could freeze it. He knew he could find a way to blindside her if he was given enough time.
At another spot in the park, Skye and Rubble were enhancing their own powers. Rubble's method involved him forming into a ball, and trying to bounce by lightening himself. This would require very specific timing. He would have to dive down at the ground after rising up, and then make himself lighter at just the right time. It went without saying that making yourself lighter on the spot wasn't an easy feat. The first time he tried this, it didn't work out. He ended up crashing into the ground once Skye dropped him and let him attempt his idea.
Skye dove down to Rubble and helped him out, since he ended up getting stuck in pretty good. After he shook the dirt off, giving Rubble another idea for what he could do. "Maybe if you don't get the hang of this by tomorrow, we could try something else."
Skye rising Rubble back up told him that she wasn't saying to give up then and there. He was curious about her idea though. "What did you have in mind?"
"Instead of bouncing, you could try diving down fast enough to pierce through the enemy's body." Skye suggested, knowing Rubble would be capable of that. "You've trained hard enough to get to high places on your own. And if you can time your dive right, you just might be able to pierce right through a demon. Or maybe even a Super Demon!"
Rubble loved the sound of piercing through a Super Demon. Maybe he'd try that after one more bouncing attempt. "That sounds awesome! But first, let's take some more tries at the bouncing attack."
"Fine with me." Skye offered Rubble some advice before dropping him again. "This time, try picturing yourself as a bouncy ball as soon as you hit the ground. The second you make an impact, picture a bounce instead of a crash."
"Okay. I can do that." Rubble replied, allowing Skye to drop him again as he landed. He crashed again, but this time, he pictured a bouncy ball the second he landed. While the crash still happened, the thought of a bouncy ball made a slight shift in his meteorite. This led to him bouncing up successfully, jumping up a few feet before diving again. He attempted a second bounce, but failed to time it correctly. Skye flew down to help him out, but when she did, Rubble laughed at how great that felt. "That was great Skye! I felt like a basketball, AND a dodgeball!"
"A dodgeball that throws itself you mean." Skye pointed out, which then gave her an interesting thought. "Imagine how fun it would be if demons could play dodgeball." Skye giggled a bit with Rubble laughing at the sound of that. The scenario would be interesting if it could happen. But since it couldn't, smashing demons was more than enough.
Later on, Wave and Zuma were sparring on the roof. Zuma and Coral had a surprise for the team, and they figured this would be a good way to pass the time. During this, the two exchanged information about their powers. "Hey Wave. How can you handle my water attacks so well with your automail awm?"
"Rocky recently added a feature that gives it water resistance." Wave explained, blocking three water beams from Zuma before he charged at her. "I'm sure he told you how he's been making upgrades every chance he could. This is the latest one."
Rocky smiled at the sight of Wave's automail arm doing so well. As he held Zuma's guitar for him, he thought about how much he helped her. Zuma was quite impressed with it as well. "I'd nevew expect anything less fwom him." Zuma threw Wave back after grabbing her with his water. She regained her balance, barely managing to jump off of a nearby pole. When Wave charged back, they blocked and deflected punches and kicks. "Just be glad we're not neaw the ocean. I'd be destwoying you wight now."
Wave laughed a bit before bringing up Zuma's recent power training. "Didn't you start using natural water in case you ever ran out of your own?"
"Well, yeah." Zuma answered, explaining himself further after Wave pushed him back with an enhanced kick. "But it would be pwetty sweet if I could waise the entiwe ocean."
Wave tried to imagine Zuma controlling an entire ocean while dodging his water bullets. When she ducked under the last one, she rose up with a fair reminder. "If you DO learn how to do that one day, try to save that for a last resort, and do it with care."
"Totally. The cweatures in the sea need their home." Zuma assured wave, having the utmost respect for the sea, and the life that inhabited it. Most likely, he'd resort to using small amounts of inhabited water. And large amounts would be used for water uninhabited by life. Besides, Zuma wouldn't dare to be reckless now. He wanted to set a good example for Melody.
Once everyone was in video call, Claw, who was video chatting with Coral, gave her the go ahead to get started. "We're all here Coral. Let's hear your beautiful voice."
"You'll get nothing less." Coral assured Claw. Wave and Zuma were nearby, so they heard Claw and Coral's exchange.
Zuma went over to Rocky, Charm, and Rubble, and grabbed his guitar. He made sure it was tuned as Wave went over to Marshall, Snow, and Everest. Liberty and Arrby joined Chase and Skye as the Cockapoo shared something with Arrby. "You're going to love Zuma and Coral performing together Arrby. When performing together, they're incredible at setting any kind of vibe."
"I don't doubt it for a second Skye." Arrby replied, knowing how well Zuma and Coral were on their own. "I can't wait to hear Coral sing again either!"
Once Zuma's guitar was properly tuned, he started explaining the song to everyone. "Cowal and I wealized the last attack Slash's awmy hit us with wouldn't be the last. So we stawted wowking on the pewfect song to make sure we could have some kind of hope for when that time came."
"I rehearsed it to my Kingdom plenty of times on my own already. They all get the vibe we're looking for." Coral revealed. She then expressed her excitement to sing the song in a duet. "Zuma, I'm ready when you are!"
Zuma started playing as soon as Coral gave her the go ahead. With the calm, yet hopeful tune playing, Zuma started singing their song: As A Team. "I know you're all scawed, I'm just as scawed as you. We expect we'll get badly huwt, and maybe that's twue. But that's a wisk we chose to take, time and time again. And I know that, if we twy, we can face our feaws once again."
Zuma played a few more strums as he let Coral sing the next part of the song. "As scary as the battle will be, I really think we'll win this fight. So let's protect the people we care for, by doing what is right. No matter how strong they are, we've never backed down before. And as a team, I can tell you that, we can win just like we have before."
Liberty expressed confusion about something when spoke to Skye. "This song is great, but Coral wasn't here for our other missions."
"I think she's including the time we fought Miranda." Skye explained, knowing Liberty knew about that fight.
"Ohhhh, that makes sense." Liberty replied, listening to the song again after that was made clear.
Zuma and Coral started singing in a duet, their voices working quite well together. "These powers might not be enough, at least not on their own. But we have powers outside of that, and they've always been shown." Marshall wrapped his paw around Wave, who placed her paw on his as they listened to the song. "It's the tenacity, and courage, that we've always shown in stride. And I know that as a team, we can handle the ride."
Zuma continued playing a bit more before he took over the start of the second verse. "The fact that we've made it so far, is pawt of what makes me happy. If I ever lost any of you, I'd pwobably go cwazy." Zuma looked at his phone, which showed his parents and Melody. Melody's smile was especially motivating for him to win. "And what we've been thwough befowe, makes me twuly believe. That victowy, once again, will be ouws to achieve."
Coral started singing again, being more than happy to continue the verse. "Whether we can turn into water, or a different creature all together. I know we can power on, through any kind of weather." Coral smiled to Wave from Claw's phone. Wave smiled back once she noticed it. "No matter what conflict arises, I know we'll come out on top. When it comes to, protecting them, I know we'll never stop."
Zuma and Coral sang together again after Zuma played a few more notes. "These were never our only powers, I know that for a fact. We always had our endless drive, along with our battle tact." Rocky and Zuma paw bumped, knowing they'd be ready for tomorrow. "Even if they have more forces, we'll always have more heart. And as a team, I know that, we'll be there to win right from the start."
The third verse started with Zuma singing it with the strums slowing down a bit. "I won't deny that I'm scawed, I know you can see it too. But make no mistake, because I'll nevew give up on you."
Coral sang after that once Zuma looked to her. "The Paw Patrol has made the choice, to defend all they can from harm. We'll always lend a paw to help, and sometimes we'll lend and arm."
Wave looked at her arm when Zuma sang again. This further motivated her for the upcoming battle. "No matter who we'we facing, whether it's demons or even ghosts. We'll be weady to come out on top, and pwove we want to win the most. We've done evewything we can to help, thwoughout the day and night."
Coral sang some more after that, building into the last bit of the final verse. "As a team, I can promise you, that we will win this fight!"
Zuma and Coral sang the final part of the song together, continuing perfect harmony. "Even with just one day to prepare, I know we'll give it our all. We knew it wouldn't be easy, and we're not ready to fall." Liberty and Arrby held paws with Snow and Everest hugging. Chase and Skye nuzzled each other as Moby smiled to Rubble, who smiled back as Charm helped Moby see. "I'm not saying it'll be easy, not that it would ever seem. But I know for a faaaaaaaaaact... we can win this, as a team."
With the final strums, Zuma played the final line in the song. "As a team." The last strum finished the song, and everyone praised Zuma and Coral's efforts. It was clear that their duet was a success. "Thank you! Thank you evewyone! We'll be hewe all night! In my case, litewally." Obviously, this wouldn't completely take away everyone's fear. That wasn't the point. The point was to help everyone remember that, no matter what, they were a team. And as a team, they would overcome any odds. Just in case anyone had any doubts before the battle.
That night, Ryder was working on his ATV for the final mission. Chase came out of the elevator when greeting him. "Hello Ryder sir."
Ryder stopped what he was doing to properly address Chase. "Hey there Chase. Did you need something?"
"Not really. I just felt like talking." Chase admitted, and Ryder was happy to allow this. He let him sit down on a box next to his ATV as he kept working on it. Chase started expressing his feelings since he moved to Adventure City. "It's still a lot to think about. After you took me to Adventure Bay, I never thought I'd see this place again. And now, I've saved it from danger three times."
Ryder ceased work on his ATV to give Chase all the attention he needed in this conversation. "And how do you feel about it."
Chase smiled, showing that his feelings were positive. "Honestly? I feel great!" Ryder smiled back, glad that Chase was taking everything well. Then again, it was pretty hard to take saving a city of good people poorly. "Ever since I got closure with Adventure City, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I could finally enjoy this place without my past telling me how to feel." Chase looked at Ryder when he addressed something else. "Day by day, I've felt myself get more comfortable living here."
Ryder sat down in his ATV, which was closest to where Chase was. "I've noticed that too. When we first came back, you were understandably trapped in your trauma." What Ryder said next showed that he was proud of Chase. "And now, you seem like a new dog all together."
"Just don't expect me to start smoking." Chase joked, not that Ryder would ever expect him to. "I know it's obvious that I feel this way. And I know the season's almost over. I just wanted to say... thanks Ryder." Chase stood up, making it clear how much Ryder helped him. "If you didn't save me from that truck, I never would've become who I am today. And I never would've been able to say that I... like Adventure City." Chase hugged Ryder, who wrapped his arms around him when he did. "Thank you Ryder sir. You're the reason I'm so strong."
Ryder laughed a bit, having his own take on how Chase has grown. "You were always strong Chase. That's why I took you in." Chase shed a tear of joy when Ryder said that. "I could always see your potential." Right from the beginning, Ryder was a true friend to Chase. He saved him from near death, gave him a purpose, and helped him find himself, and who he truly was. Chase doubted his closure with Adventure City would be the last struggle he'd have. But for now, he was happy with where he was.
The next day, Wave, Snow, Liberty, and Arrby were on the couch as they readied themselves for the battle. Arrby was looking at a picture of himself and Sid, which was used to motivate him for the upcoming battle. He would prioritize saving Sid, but he'd protect the city the best he could as well. Liberty saw the photo and put a paw on Arrby or comfort. Now, not afraid to share her feelings, and knowing she wouldn't scare her friends away... she was ready to give Arrby everything he needed. "We'll get him back Arrby. Then, you can take the sea back."
Liberty let Arrby take her paws, looking into his eyes as he suggested something else. "Just one?"
Liberty nodded in response, knowing what Arrby was looking for. "For luck." Liberty and Arrby shared a loving kiss. Their first one as well. If they had to kiss at least once before the final battle, then they would. At least this way, they'd know how genuine their feelings were before the final showdown. Not that they doubted it of course. They just wanted the other to know that they loved them. Until the end, and evermore.
As for Wave and Snow, Wave was looking at her automail arm. She had a good grasp on it now. One that felt strong enough to handle any battle that came her way. And in such a short amount of time too. It was March 26th, exactly three months after Rocky installed her new arm. And it truly felt like a part of her now. Snow took Wave's paw, her automail paw. And after she did, Wave assured her she'd be ready. "As soon as Ryder gives the call, I'll be ready. And don't worry, I won't bite off more than I can chew again. At least, I promise I'll try not to."
"Key word being try." Snow responded, booping Wave's nose as she showed she knew what Wave meant. "Only as a last resort."
"Of course." Wave assured Snow, still being ready for the battle regardless. "By the way, if you CAN stop them with your secret weapon, that'll make the battle ten times more intense."
"I just might need your help to pull it off." Snow told Wave, knowing this could very well be a team effort. And they wouldn't have it any other way than fighting together.
Just then, the alarm Ryder installed on the top of the Paw Patrol tower went off. Liberty covered her ears with Arrby comforting her so she didn't feel overstimulated. When the alarm stopped, Liberty took a few seconds to calm down. Wave and Snow went over to her once she did. And she knew exactly what the alarm meant. "They're here."
Liberty clenched her paws, unintentionally squeezing Arrby's due to her desire to stop Victoria. "Ow!"
"Oh, sorry." Liberty apologized, kissing Arrby's paws to help them feel better.
The four laughed at the scenario before getting serious. Once the others entered the room, Wave and Liberty did their signature paw bump. They also kissed their partner's cheek, being as ready as ever for the battle. Wave looked at Ryder, who walked up to the front, and exchanged a smiling nod. "Just tell me what to do Ryder. I'll be ready.
Ryder stood in front of the team, and Charm and Arrby. He got right to the point with his command. "Remember everyone. We fight as a team. We fight to protect this city. We fight to stop Slash's army again once and for all." He clenched his fist right at the end of his words. "Paw Patrol, is on a roll!"
To be continued
Rock music started playing as Wave started talking about what was going to happen with specific moments from the next chapter being shown. "Slash is our main target, but we still have to keep an eye on Victoria and Humdinger. Same with all the demons they'll be bringing in for the fight. Come on Humdinger! Snow stopped your armor once with Claw before; don't think we can't stop you again! Whoa, talk about an upgrade. Not a problem. We'll win this fight together!"
Wave finished the announcement with the words Paw Patrol in all blue with red outlines surrounded with a white border with Wave on the right, and Marshall on the left. "Next time, Battle For Adventure City Paw One!" Marshall was shown falling butt first on a demon before farting fire on it before it could infect him. "Liberty's knife wound is fully healed too! She'll be as ready as us!"
