Disclaimer: The second official funeral of Paw Patrol X. I know this chapter's gonna be an emotional one. Let's see if it can cap off the season in a satisfying way.
Also, I don't own Paw Patrol.
Paw Patrol X
Season Five Epilogue: Speak Your Mind
Somwehre in a land full of fire and darkness, Slash's hind paws were shown walking on the land's rocky terrain. They stopped right before some kind of beast that Victoria was recovering from. As she caught her breath, Slash smiled proudly. His plan worked as well as it did the first two times. For him, and for Victoria. But there was one missing. "Has Humdinger not-" Just then, the beast spat out Humdinger. He had to catch his breath as well, and allowed Victoria to help him up. That answered Slash's question well enough. "Much better."
Victoria and Humdinger got a good look around the place they were in. Humdinger was mortified when he put two and two together. "Are we in hell!?"
"Sure are! And by my next plan, we'll reach the surface again." Slash answered with a thumbs up.
Victoria noticed how much more powerful she felt than before. Specifically, in the durability department. "This new feeling is something else. I feel like... almost nothing can kill me."
Victoria and Humdinger saw how their skin looked. It was the same color, but it felt stronger, more enhanced. Slash was more than happy to explain. "That's what happens when you're revived down here by Burner."
"Burner?" Victoria and Humdinger asked in sync. They turned around and looked at the monster that spat them out.
"No, it's not the monster. It's the one who created him." Slash explained, gesturing Victoria and Humdinger to follow him. "I'll explain everything on the way." Victoria and Humdinger started following Slash, who began telling them his origin story. "When I was a puppy, I found myself fascinated by demons. Their origins, their blood, their powers, every step they took felt like a dream!" Victoria seemed intrigued, and Humdinger seemed worried. They clearly didn't change much from their revival. Just as Slash planned. "That got me into contact with Burner."
"Let me guess. He's the firecracker who owns all of Hell." Victoria guessed, and Slash gave a thumbs up to answer her. "Okay then! If he's a friend of yours, then I can at least get along with him for your sanity. Or lacktherof."
"That's up to you." Slash assured Victoria, walking onward with them as he kept telling them about his past. "Anyway, Burner saw how I lacked contentment with my life. How I wanted... more." Don't worry, we won't get the full backstory here. Maybe in the final era; I don't know. I just wanted to show how Slash kept coming back.
One week after the battle for Adventure City...
Wave and the others were hosting Arrby's funeral in the Adventure City cemetery. Everyone came, even some of the citizens Sid and Arrby interacted with before. The Paw Patrol were still incredibly sad over the loss of their friend. Especially Arrby. He could barely keep himself from crying as he walked up to the podium to speak. He looked at Sid's coffin, and Ryder held the top in case he wanted to see Sid's body. Arrby gulped at first, but knew he wanted to do this. "Show me." If he didn't look now, he'd never get the chance again. He couldn't risk that.
Ryder opened up the coffin, and inside was Sid's lifeless corpse. The very sight of it led to a tear slipping out of Arrby's right eye. Thankully, the sight of Sid being a human helped him avoid bawling. At least he went out in his own body. He held Sid's paw, taking the time to address what he'd done. "Sid. I'm so sorry. This is all my fault." Ryder rubbed Arrby's head, knowing how much this was eating him up. "I shouldn't have staged that stupid rescue plan. Not by myself. Or without planning at all."
Arrby shook his head before looking at Ryder. He gave a nod, allowing him to close the coffin. Arrby made his way up to the podium for real this time. He stood up to the microphone, taking off his pirate hat to speak formally. He doubted Sid would care how he looked as long as he showed up. But he still wanted to look his best. Arrby choked a bit, but he managed to start speaking. "Sid was... everything to me, for so long." Arrby's lip quivered before he continued. This was harder on him than he was ready for. "From the very moment my life started."
The pups all stood together, allowing Arrby to say his piece. "Ten years ago... I lived on an island, called Tidal Island. I wasn't happy there. And it wasn't kind to me." A brief smile appeared on Arrby's face as he remembered Sid saving him. "Then I met Sid. He came to my island on his ship. He saw how miserable I was, how I was struggling just to get by. So he took me with him." Arrby's paws clenched as he held his hat tightly. The next words he said broke his heart. "Sid saved my life."
Arrby took the microphone by one paw just in case he started descending. "Ever since that day, I sailed the seven seas with him. We visited so many amazing places. I think we went to every country at least once. Even Barkingburg!" The mention of Barkingburg got Claw and Sweetie's attention. It must have been before they lived there. They wished they could've met Arrby during that time. "Every place had its own strengths. But the best part of all, was always the fact that I was there with Sid. I don't think I could dislike a place when I was with him."
Wave started holding Liberty's paw when she saw that she was starting to tense up. Seeing Arrby get emotional was definitely the hardest on her. Arrby kept going, knowing he had more he wanted to say. "He helped me meet the amazing friends I have before me. And not just those who've lived in Adventure City their whole lives. The Paw Patrol. Wave, Coral, Zuma... all of them." Arrby looked at Liberty after that. Seeing her come helped him keep it together. "The pup I love."
Liberty smiled to Arrby, but she couldn't help hoping she wasn't being insensitive. Arrby continuing without a scowl told her it was okay. At least in that instance. "I'd be completely lost without Sid. I doubt I would've lived to reach double digits on Tidal Island." Arrby's lip started to quiver again as the tears started forming in his eyes again. "Sid was the best friend I could've asked for. He gave me a purpose. He helped me feel loved, and he helped me smile." Arrby struggled to get the last part out. But he did it. For Sid. "He helped me start to live."
Tears started streaming down Arrby's face as soon as he was done. Or almost done. He still had to say goodbye. "Sid. Goodbye. Thank you for everything. I love you." Arrby stepped down, the tears streaming down his face as he made his way back over to the others. In that moment, Liberty started thinking about Sid's video again. The same line that led to her confessing her love for Arrby. Would that same line be what she needed to help him start feeling better?
The Paw Patrol all stayed behind for Arrby to help him grieve. Of course, being the Paw Patrol, they all had to leave. The last three pups to leave, Wave, Snow, and Liberty, were headed off after Wave gave Arrby a hug. Before hopping onto her scooter, Liberty felt the urge to help Arrby. She wanted to help him get the strength to go home tonight. At least then, he could sleep in a warm bed. "I'll see you two back home."
Wave and Snow looked at each other when they thought about what Liberty was going to do. Feeling she could pull it off, they looked at her, and Wave gave her advice. "Just remember. Even if and when he comes to terms with it, he'll never fully get over it. Grieving doesn't work like that."
Liberty nodded in understanding with Snow giving her some words of encouragement. "You can do this Libby." Liberty smiled briefly before going over to Arrby. She knew she'd have more chances to comfort him, but she still wanted to do it now.
Arrby was still crying silently at Sid's grave. His tears were making the dirt on his grave moist. Liberty was walking up to him from behind, but he didn't say a word. Liberty knew why he wasn't speaking. So she started talking first. "I'm so sorry Arrby. I wish I could say I knew what you were feeling."
Arrby sniffled a bit, allowing Liberty to walk up to him as he responded. "It's okay. We're the same in other ways." Arrby started wiping his eyes as he started spilling his guts to Liberty. "He shouldn't even be here! All I had to do was wait! And then, Charm never would've had to come to Slash's base, and the Super Demon would've never attacked us!" Arrby started to tense up again as the details spiraled inside his mind. "It's all my fault." One dark thought entered his mind as he kept crying. "I should just quit!" Liberty knew what he meant too. "I... I..."
Arrby put his paws over his eyes as Liberty surprised him by bringing him in for a hug. "No you shouldn't."
"But... Liberty!"
"But nothing. Sid wouldn't want that."
Arrby saw Liberty's point surprisingly fast. The mention of Sid really did its work. Coming to his senses, he was still crying, but he managed to avoid his dark thought. "You're... you're right. I'm sorry." Arrby looked back at Sid's grave, coming to the same question he had on Valentine's Day. "But... what should I do? Sid was my guide through life. He's the one who helped me with everything." Arrby looked at Sid's tombstone, which had 'A Pirated Canine's Best Friend' on it. He was clearly lost again. "What should I do with my life? Besides live it, I mean."
Liberty got to thinking about the same line from Sid's video again. 'If you see something that makes you happy, go for it.' She started to see the deeper meaning behind Sid's words. They weren't just for doing something you enjoyed, or going through with something you'd been planning for some time. They were for making yourself happy. Happy to live, happy to play, happy to do... anything. Liberty smiled when she started to share this with Arrby. "Whatever makes you happy."
Arrby looked at Liberty, unsure if he could find out what that was. He didn't even know if he could look without Sid. "Like... whatever I start to enjoy?"
"Yeah. That's one idea." Liberty said, sharing another idea of what it could entail. "Or time with someone you love. Or doing something you love." Liberty placed her paw on Arrby's to help him see what she meant. "I think what Sid would want you to do, is go for it, when you find out how you want to live your life."
Arrby loved that sentiment, but was unsure if he could follow through. He didn't know if he'd be strong enough. "Do you think I can really do that?"
"Of course! And I'll be here to help." Liberty exclaimed. She then got back to sharing what she learned in the video. "Also, about Sid's video... I think I realized what he meant."
Arrby was definitely intrigued after hearing that. He was still distraught, but he loved the idea of Sid's words having a deeper meaning. "What?"
Admittedly, the start to Liberty's idea wasn't very happy. That's why she started frowning when she began. "No one's happy all the time. The world can be cruel, and it can be easy for it to bring you down. And that hurts so much." However, her smile started to show Arrby where she was coming from. "That's why, we have to take chances. If something makes us happy, we should go for it." Liberty looked at Arrby as she continued. "It doesn't erase the hard times, but it makes them easier to manage. It helps us remember that life is worth living."
Liberty kept going, knowing that she was getting through to Arrby. "We should focus on what we're moving towards, instead of what we're trying to get away from. We have to speak up, instead of keeping quiet. We should show that, even at our worst... we're not afraid to move forward." Arrby held Liberty's paw to show her that he was listening. "So when someone asks if we're okay, instead of just saying, no, we could add some hope to it by saying... I'm getting better. Minute by minute."
Arrby gained more clarity thanks to what Liberty said. He still sniffled a bit, but he was grateful for her words. "Then I guess... that's what I'm doing. Just like our friends did."
"Exactly! We all kept moving forward, and we still haven't stopped." Liberty pointed out, adding her own experience in to help. "Look at me Arrby. I spent ten years being raised at an orphanage being mistreated by the owner. I spent three years living in this city as a stray, and it took me so long to realize how much everyone cared about me. I was so scared of talking about my problems because I thought I might scare people away." Liberty took Arrby's paws just as she finished. "But ya know something? Never once, did I stop moving forward at my own pace."
Arrby smiled, but one question still plagued his mind. While Liberty's words were touching, they didn't quite help him with one part of his dilemma. "Then I guess what I'll have to do is start looking. Once I feel better."
Liberty had an idea, one she shared with Arrby on Valentine's Day. "Well... what would you say to joining the Paw Patrol?"
Arrby did like the sound of that. But he wasn't sure if Ryder would allow it. "You think Ryder would let me on the team?"
"Why not? I'm sure he'd be happy to have you. And not just so you can have a new home." Liberty assured Arrby, knowing he would love being on the team as much as Ryder would love to have him.
Once Liberty and Arrby left the cemetery, Arrby was explaining his case to Ryder the best he could. "And I'll do everything I can to contribute to the team. Even if it's as small as getting a kid's balloon down from a tree or something." Liberty smiled to Arrby, seeing that he was really liking the idea of being on the team. "I know it's sudden since Sid just died a week ago, but I can't just stay in Liberty's room crying all day. I have to keep moving forward."
Ryder and Richie looked at each other, and then back at Arrby. When sharing another glance, Richie shared his thoughts. "I think he can do it."
"I do too. He'd been a great help lately, especially in the last attack." Ryder added, confident that Arrby could pull his weight. He knelt down to Arrby, letting him know that there were no major expectations for him. At least nothing bigger than he SHOULD expect. "Remember Arrby. All we want is for you to help around Adventure City however you can. We won't ask anything of you that you can't handle."
Arrby nodded in understanding, glad that Ryder liked the idea of him joining. "I understand Ryder. And don't worry. My grieving won't get in the way of my duties."
"Yeah, that's part of what I mean." Ryder informed Arrby with a chuckle. "If you don't feel like you can handle something, just let us know. For now, I'll focus on the kind of role I can give you on the team."
"You won't regret this Ryder!" Liberty assured Ryder, and then she looked to Arrby after realizing one more thing. "Oh; Arrby! Do you want a party?"
Arrby thought about it for a bit, and he felt that a party could be a good idea. "Yeah, that would be nice. Just a small one though, with our friends in the Paw Patrol."
"So... the entire Paw Patrol. Got it." Liberty took note of that, and she and Arrby exchanged warm smiles.
Later that night, Wave and Snow were getting ready for bed when Snow saw Wave looking at some sheet music. She snuck a peek at it, and when looking at the lyrics, she gave a sly grin to the Dalmatian. "Of course you'd have something big planned for Arrby's party. And Ryder hasn't even finalized his spot yet!"
Wave laughed a bit, explaining what she was doing with this song. "It's just something I wanted to prepare for Arrby's party. Also, I need at least one song this season." Snow laughed a bit at Wave's fourth wall break. "Since he wants it small, it'll be a soft song, but still an upbeat one."
Wave put her sheet music away before hugging Snow. Snow wrapped her arms around her as she thought about how loving she was. She didn't need written lyrics to show that. "I think you should scrap it. The script I mean." Wave looked at Snow, who was more than happy to praise Wave in her explanation. "You've never needed help showing others how much you love them. Even in song form, you're always on point."
Wave saw where Snow was coming from. A script always helped, but she and the others usually seemed to know what to say. "Yeah, I see your point." Wave laid down with Snow before something else popped into her head. "Now then. I think we should take a moment to talk about what happened on OUR end of the battle." When she turned to Snow, she was full of praise for her. "You were amazing! No matter what Humdinger threw at us in his armor, you were on point with every move you made!"
"Hehe. Thanks. You were on point yourself." Snow praised Wave, being more than happy with how she handled herself. "And not just with the battle against Humdinger. When we joined Chase and Marshall, you were awesome at following Chase's plan."
"Of course. I had to start listening to you guys. We're all on the same team after all." Wave responded, and Snow nuzzled her a bit before she brought up something else. "By the way..." She reached underneath the bed and showed Snow a newspaper of Carl being sued. "He finally got his comeuppance!"
Snow was more than delighted to hear that, taking the newspaper and shouting at it. "Ha! Eat that Carl! I don't know what you got sued for, but have fun in jail! Because you suck!" Wave couldn't help laughing before Snow expressed her relief. "Ya know, it's funny. When Everest came home with Carl, I started to realize how... painful it was, knowing that I never had a worthy father." Wave placed a paw on Snow's shoulder, who expressed what she was going to strive for after that day. "That's why I want to raise a kid with you. To give THEM a parental figure."
Wave smiled, being more than happy to fill that role in herself as well. "I'd love that a lot." With that in mind, Wave started thinking about how much she empathized with Snow regarding a lack of a father. It gave her an interesting thought to share with her. "Maybe, if we find a way... we could meet MY dad together? I bet he'd love to be your father in law. Even though he's dead."
Snow kissed Wave before giving her answer. It was a positive response as well. "If we find a way, I'm all for it." The two then lied down together before putting their blanket over themselves. "I love you Wave."
"I love you too Snowflake." And with that, the two wrapped their arms around each other and started sleeping. They loved nothing more than finishing the day resting in each others arms.
Three days later, Arrby's initiation party into the Paw Patrol was taking place. Zuma was stoked about the new position Arrby was given. "Just wait until we're out on the sea togethew Awwby dude! You'll love being my backup!"
Arrby was now dawning a black and white pup-suit, which resembled the shirt he got from Sid. He was happy to be wearing it, and to be working alongside Zuma. "I can only imagine. I've always loved being out on the sea."
"Pweach." Zuma said while holding his paw out. Arrby happily fist bumped him, allowing the Canines to declare each other partners.
Rubble came over to the others when he realized something. He had a cake slice in his paws when he shared it. "Guys, I just realized something! We should change our team name!"
"Why?" Rocky asked out of confusion, smiling as he continued. "We're the Paw Patrol. The name speaks for itself."
"It doesn't speak for our powers!" Rubble pointed out, setting his cake down as he got ready to share his idea. "I've got something good, hear me out!" The name Rubble had in mind was definitely... something. "What about... the Paw Patrol, but more, with a little bit extra."
The others could definitely see the cringe in that name. Charm was more than happy to point it out. "Rubble, no offense, but I wouldn't let you help name my kid."
Rubble shrugged with Ryder seeing the idea working out. "You have the right idea though Rubble. A second name could work for those who learned about us from your powers. Anyone have any ideas?"
Chase then came in with an idea of his own to share. "I've got something that'll roll of the tongue much easier, while also being much more fitting for a second name." He stood in front of everyone and shared it proudly. "The Mighty Pups!"
That name was much more fitting, as Chase promised. Ryder was happy to add it to the list when he heard everyone's sounds of approval. "Alright then, it's settled. From now on, the second of our two names will be, the Mighty Pups."
Every dog in the room howled together before Marshall added something else to the fun. "A perfect name for our mighty awesome upgrades!"
Marshall laughed a bit as Wave playfully shoved him, and then everyone called him out. "Marshall!"
The pups all laughed together before Wave caught the time. It was almost time for the song she wanted to sing to Arrby! "Yes! It's almost time!" She ran over to the mini stage in the room to get ready. "Zuma; get your guitar!"
"You got it Wave dude!" Zuma assured Wave as he ran off to his room. Liberty smiled to Arrby, who smiled back. While Sid's death still hurt, and always would, this party was helping him come to terms with everything.
Wave and Zuma were just about ready to perform Wave's song. Skye expressed delight in getting to hear them perform again. "This is gonna be great! Wave and Zuma always perform well together."
"Just don't start going fangirl next to me." Claw joked, and Skye rolled her eyes while smiling as Claw laughed at his joke.
Wave looked at Zuma, who gave her a nod before she looked at the rest of the Paw Patrol. She was more than happy to be performing the song for Arrby's official entrance onto the team. "Things have been hard lately, especially for the city. So I'm glad we can all still come together, and celebrate the arrival of our latest member." Wave looked at Arrby, who smiled when she spoke to him. "Welcome to the team Arrby." Wave nodded to Zuma, who started playing some soft but casually paced guitar music. This allowed Wave to get into the mood of her song.
When Wave got into the right mood for the song, she started singing Our Pirate Friend. "He used to sail the seven seas. Now he's a resident in Adventure City." Liberty started nuzzling Arrby, who held her paw as they watched Wave's performance. "These past few months have been tough on him. But we'll help him out, you'll see."
Wave continued singing with her smile changing to a frown when she thought about Sid. "We lost a good friend just ten days ago. And we're grieving alongside his best friend." The smile she showed after that gave an optimistic viewpoint to the future. "I know he's taking it the hardest. We'll help him remember this is not the end."
Marshall and Chase did their signature paw shake as Wave continued singing. "Our pirate friend, our new member, it's great to have you here. We'll back you up, like everyone else, whether you're far or near." Skye and Claw smiled to each other, both of them enjoying the song. "It won't be easy, I know that much, but I'll still be there for you." Wave closed her eyes for just a bit before she finished the first verse. "We know it's the strongest with youuuuu... but just remember, we're grieving too."
Zuma played a few more notes as Arrby's smile was shown. Even though he was still coping, Wave's song for him helped in spades. And she was more than happy to continue it. "I know what it's like to lose someone you love. The pain dives down and strikes you hard from above." Everest patted Rocky's back to help him feel better. She knew he lost his mother too when he was younger. "And I know I'm not the only one who can relate. So to us, you can speak your mind; no need to wait."
Charm playfully punched Snow's shoulder, leaving her to playfully shove him while continuing to watch Wave. "Our pirate friend, we don't want you, to feel like you're all alone. We'll always try, to be by your side, whenever we hear so much as a moan." Ryder and Richie smiled and fist bumped, glad to have a team of such loving Canines. "We'll always be your friend, no matter what, that's something I just knooooow. And it's something we're happy to show."
Zuma played a few more notes as Wave began the third verse in the song. She started with a slightly softer tone than before. "Losing a loved one can be isolating. Sometimes, you even feel like you're to blame. I know it's all hard to process. That's why I want to say." Liberty smiled as she watched Wave, who smiled to her as she continued her song. "Arrby Contreras, you are our friend. We'll help you grieve right to the end. So never be afraid to speak your miiiiind. Because our love is what you will fiiiiind."
Wave got to finishing the last verse of the song with Sweetie, and everyone else calling on video chat, shown smiling as they watched it too. "Our pirate friend, we'll always be, standing by your side. It won't always be easy, but we'll help you through the ride." Wave and Zuma smiled to each other as Wave started to finish the final verse. "Through every trial, and all the pain, we'll help you; our friends and me. So feel free to speak your mind, becaaaaause..." After one more note, Wave sang the final line in the song. "The Paw Patrol will help you, as a family."
When Wave finished singing, Zuma stopped playing his guitar. Everyone started clapping for Wave, who could see that her song did its job. She was especially happy to see that Arrby was smiling at the end of it. Given that the song was made specifically for him, she wanted it to have a positive impact on him. And surely enough, it seemed to. When Liberty hugged Arrby and kissed his cheek, this was shown even more so. Minute by minute, he was recovering.
Marshall and Snow ran up to Wave, who happily hugged the both of them. Marshall, who was on Wave's right, smiled when feeling her automail arm. He didn't exactly need anymore proof, but he could tell from recent events, and the song, that Wave had grown more once again. "I'm proud of you Wave." Marshall looked at Wave, who accepted a kiss from Snow as Marshall rubbed her head. "You always seem to be growing."
Wave giggled a bit before acknowledging how much everyone helped with that. "It helps that I have the Paw Patrol as role models." Wave looked at her automail arm once again. A part of her still missed her old one, but she still valued the lesson she learned from losing it. "My will to help everyone won't die. But this arm DID ease my mind enough to listen to you guys. I'll always be grateful for that." Marshall and Snow smiled when looking at each other in response to that. They looked back at Wave, who was still as optimistic as could be.
Arrby was out on the balcony near the end of the party. He was looking up at the stars, where he believed Sid was. He was telling him about the party and everything that went down. "And then Chase and and Zuma started break dancing to get the others' cake!" Arrby laughed a bit when recalling the outcome. "Zuma won of course."
Liberty came out onto the balcony, catching Arrby's attention. "I thought I'd find you out here."
Arrby laughed a bit before explaining why he was out there. "I was just talking to Sid. I heard something once about our lost loved ones being up there in the stars. I thought I'd give it a try."
Liberty looked up at the sky along with Arrby to see if Sid was up there. While she couldn't see Sid, she DID see a shining star. "You think that's him saying hi?"
"It could be." Arrby answered, not having as much knowledge on this as he'd like. "I wish I could've stayed around to learn more."
"Maybe you'll meet whoever told you about it again someday." Liberty suggested, and Arrby liked the sound of that. Liberty and Arrby looked up at the stars together, letting the moment sink in. They let the stars shine above them, and Arrby thought of some more things he could say to Sid. Liberty looked at Arrby, who was more than happy she was out there with him. Despite loving their quiet moment, Liberty knew this party didn't erase Arrby's problems. She wanted to make sure he wasn't also out here because he was too sad. "Are you okay?"
Arrby knew why Liberty asked her that. Her compassion was part of why he loved her. And probably part of why Snow loved Wave. While she was right to suggest he was still sad about losing Sid, Arrby was doing much better since they spoke after his funeral. This party was doing a fantastic job as well. It helped Arrby repeat what Liberty said to him at Sid's grave. "I'm getting better." He looked at her with a smile, wanting her to know how grateful he was for her. "Minute by minute."
Liberty took Arrby's paw, allowing the two to come closer before sharing a passionate kiss. As the stars shined down on them, their tails started to wag. And when the kiss concluded, Liberty was the first to express her love for Arrby. "I love you Arrby."
"I love you too Libby." Arrby said back, not wanting to let any of his time with Liberty go to waste. "You'll always be my Pirated Canine." Liberty and Arrby smiled while holding each others' paws. They let the stars and moon continue to shine down on them, glad to be spending the party together.
The next day, Wave was making breakfast for everyone, just like she would any other day of the week. There were vegetarian options for Liberty, as usual. And now, there were pescatarian options for Arrby as well. At the same time, Snow was coming into the kitchen with a surprise for Arrby. She walked over to the others, who Wave had just started serving. When she sat down, she took her phone out and showed them what she did. "Take a look everyone! Now it's up to date!" Everyone looked to see Snow standing in front of the now updated team mural.
Arrby was on the mural now, as Snow managed to find a spot for him right next to Liberty. He was touched by it, expressing his gratitude to Snow for the gesture. "Thank you Snow. I'm so honored."
"I couldn't leave a fellow Paw Patrol member off something so important." Snow reminded Arrby, accepting her breakfast from Wave, who sat down in between her and Marshall. "Thanks Wave. Like always, I know this is gonna be incredible."
"I wouldn't want to make anything less!" Wave assured Snow, and she got to eating her chocolate chip pancakes herself.
With everyone eating their breakfast, Liberty thought of a question she had for Wave. "I've been meaning to ask you Wave." Wave gave Liberty her full attention, allowing her to ask away. "You guys won't be here forever. Do you think Arrby and I can handle the Adventure City unit of the team?"
"Of course I do! Although, that's more of a Ryder question." Wave admitted, and she and Liberty laughed a bit. Wave did know why Liberty asked her specifically. "And if you still want help, we'll be more than happy to help you with auditions for new members." Liberty left her seat and went under the table to got to Wave. After popping up into her seat, Wave gave a surprised smile. "Whoa; pop goes the Dachshund."
"Hehe; sorry." Liberty held out her paw, wanting to do her signature paw bump with Wave. "Thanks Wave."
Wave was more than happy to do her paw bump with Liberty. "Anytime Libby." Wave and Liberty did their signature paw bump, ending it with the usual collision of their two paws. With the image of Wave and Liberty's paws bumping, the screen faded to black, ending the season off. But this time, there weren't any words on this black screen. Not like New Recruits in season one and Demon Defense in season three. Instead...
Zuma's jet-ski was shown racing through the ocean with a determined Zuma at the driver's seat. Rocky was holding onto him, being more than ready to back him up. Up ahead was a familiar looking island. But not Twin Flame Island. It was the Coastal Town Zuma grew up in: Coastal Current. Zuma looked back at Rocky for a bit before looking ahead again. "I know it's been a long night Wocky. But we're almost thewe."
A scene of Bloodfreak meeting Rocky and Zuma with Melody in Adventure City was shown as Rocky responded. "You really think he's there?"
Another scene showed Bloodfreak kneeling down to a tied up Melody in his base as Zuma answered Rocky. "He has to be. It's the pewfect bait."
The next scene had Wave with Marshall, Snow, Claw, and Charm, outside by the Paw Patroller. Ryder was letting them know what they'd be doing. "Sorry this is such short notice. I wish Chase and Skye could've come too, but we can't wait now."
The scene after that had Zuma fighting his first opponent at the Coastal Current dock. This battle started just after he tricked Rocky and tied him up. Rocky spoke over it as Zuma was shown punching him across the dock. "The others have to be coming now too."
The next scene had Zuma fighting Wave on the HQ roof late at night. It was just them, and they seemed evenly matched. Wave was trying to stop Zuma from leaving alone. And during the battle, Zuma replied to Rocky. "Figuwes they would've come anyway."
The following scenes had Marshall, Claw, and Charm partaking in one on one battles. The two after that showed Snow and Rocky fighting in the woods, and Wave and Zuma fighting on a lake near a massive Coastal Current monument. Think something like the Final Valley from Naruto. I got a huge rush for this arc from that one. Rocky had a question in mind, and he asked it as the scenes played out. "Why did you try to leave by yourself anyway? You knew we would've helped you."
Zuma was looking back at Rocky when he asked that. He looked forward, losing no determination as he gave his answer. One that made it clear how he viewed this mission he was on. "These ties are mine to cut."
The screen cut to black, allowing the trailer to end. The pendant Rocky gave Zuma for his tenth birthday was shown underneath the final words.
Next time... Zuma takes the lead.
