She would stand before the Golden Throne.

She would not destroy it by burning it.

She would simply demand something of its occupant.

Why.

A semi-crackish Response from a fellow writer.

Zerayah had expected many answers when she asked her question.

From an arrogant proclamation that he was the God-Emperor and did not need to explain his actions, to justification that ranged from absolutely pathetic to profoundly sound, of denial of responsibility and hoisting up others to blame. These, and many more, she expected from the Golden Throne.

What came, shattered her expectations.

The Emperor of Mankind weeped.

"I did not order his death." He claimed.

"I did not order your world burned." He promised.

"I did not wish for the death of The Hero." He stated.

The last rocked the Daughter of Cain on her heels. To hear her father proclaimed as a hero by that which should have been his greatest enemy.
Again, she asked Why. This time why did he refer to her father as a 'Hero', and not a 'traitor'.

"Because he was a Hero. Not of the Imperium. Not of Chaos. But of humanity." He declared.

"He has done more to restore the old glory of humanity since my internment on this throne. Since the last of my Sons walked among us."

"He has done all this, despite walking with the Three following his every step. He has done what I considered to be impossible."

"He has straddled the line between Chaos and Freedom so perfectly, that he and those who follow him are able to gain without sacrificing themselves to the Three. All the while hiding his loyalty to me, and humanity."

"He has done the impossible: Swearing allegiance to me, and the Three, without any of us claiming his soul."

"Tell me, why would I order the death of one who could stand alongside my sons."
